ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I met Lorne Michaels when I worked at a 5-star restaurant. Everyone who worked with me knew I’d been a fan of SNL since I came out of the womb, so when I picked up the phone to make the reservation and spoke with his assistant, I told them I was Lorne's biggest fan. When he arrived with his wife and son (who went to a local boarding school), they were so kind, and he said, 'Oh, I heard you’re my biggest fan, and that’s amazing because I don’t have fans — the cast always has fans!' I almost died. I gave them my favorite table, which they were thrilled with, and when he got up to leave, he left me an envelope with a pretty sweet bonus tip inside. I wasn’t usually tipped doing my work, so it wasn’t necessary, but it was so thoughtful and appreciated. All three were true gems. You’d never know he was famous or rich at all."

ABSOLUTE DREAM: "A friend and I visited my boyfriend while he was doing security at a jazz festival in Malibu. He told us Adam Sandler and his family had been there all day and tons of people took pictures with him. We ran back to the car to grab the digital camera, looked up, and saw Adam, his pregnant wife Jackie, and their toddler leaving. We went up to them. Adam was clearly done for the day, but his wife said, 'Honey, let me hold [toddler's name] and you can take a picture.' We handed him the camera and he took a selfie with us. Still have that picture on my fridge. Love the Sandman!"
TOTAL NIGHTMARE: "My little cousin played one of Rob Schneider's kids in 50 First Dates. Rob was stuck-up, never got to know the children or their parents, and always went straight to his dressing room. I'm an introvert, so I like my alone time to recharge, but apparently the vibes he was giving off were that he couldn't be bothered to care about anyone else there. Also, the little girl in the movie was apparently a spoiled brat who threw tantrums and made them have to redo so many takes. I can see why Rob maybe didn't want to play with her, but the other kids were great!"
ABSOLUTE DREAM: "My husband met Rihanna years ago and said she was super nice. He was working as a ground handler at an airport and was setting up something on the ramp for her private plane. She came out, approached him, asked him about his job, and they chatted for a few minutes. Not sure if she was killing time until the gate opened, or if she went out of her way to talk to him for the heck of it, but he had nothing but nice things to say about her."
ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I met Jerry Springer while bartending almost 20 years ago. He was thinking of getting back into politics and had a meeting in our private dining room on the second floor. It was happy hour and the bar was packed. Someone spotted him and started chanting, 'JERRY, JERRY,' while he was about to walk up the stairs. He then came to the bar, ordered a $2 beer, walked through the entire bar, shook hands, and took pictures. When he finished the loop, he set the full beer on the bar and handed me $40. Regardless of his show, I will always think of him as a class act."
ABSOLUTE DREAM: "My story is that I was actually horrible to a celebrity. In the '70s, I was obsessed with Donny and Marie. They were playing at our state fair that year. My dad tried to get tickets, but it was sold out. He took us to the fair anyway. A few times we could hear the music, which infuriated me at 7 years old. When we were leaving, my dad had to stop the car because there was a big crowd of people. As they cleared to let us through, two people popped their heads in the car window to apologize. It was Donny and Marie. I refused to believe it was really them, and I told Marie, 'You're not Marie. She's a lot prettier than you.' My family was horrified."

I went inside and placed my order, and a guy in a white jumpsuit with a white bandana tied around his head came in. There weren't that many people in the restaurant, but he stopped and signed autographs and was chatting everyone up when I left. It wasn't until a few years later that I realized that person was Steven Tyler. This was in the late '80s before Aerosmith had that string of hits."
ABSOLUTE DREAM: "The most genuine interaction I've ever had with a celeb was with Bert Kreischer. I saw a show (during which he mentioned his grandma was in the hospital). Then, he told the audience he would be going to the bar next door after the show if anyone wanted a picture. When he arrived at the bar, he waded through CROWDS of people and made sure everyone who wanted to was able to get a pic or a moment with him. I stayed at the bar for a drink until he was on his way out (by this time the crowd had dispersed). I called out as he passed, 'Hey, I didn't get a chance to say it before, but I hope your grandma does well.' He stopped, turned around, and had a very genuine conversation with me."

ABSOLUTE DREAM: "In 2004, I met Tony Curtis. He exuded 'old Hollywood.' He made his way around the room, speaking to each person, and when he approached me, he extended his hand and held my hand through the entire conversation. He focused on our conversation as if there was no one else in the room. As we said goodbye (he was still holding my hand), he raised my hand to his lips and kissed it. He was dressed impeccably and was in fine form. I have had many celebrity encounters, but nothing rises to the level of Tony Curtis. Absolutely the best celebrity encounter I've ever had."
ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I met Sir Patrick Stewart at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando. We were both hanging out with friends in the lobby. He told stories, made lots of jokes with his friends, and included us in the conversation."

TOTAL NIGHTMARE: "My sister met Katy Perry at a restaurant, but she was being rude to the bartender and all the employees who came over to help, so now my niece and nephew aren't allowed to listen to her music."
ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I met Tori Amos, and she was an absolute sweetie pie. She hugged me and told me she liked my shirt. We spoke briefly. I was starstruck, but it made a lasting impression on me."
ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I grew up in a tiny town (pop. 3,000), and every year for his twins' birthday dinner, Michael J. Fox would bring his whole family to the restaurant my mom worked at. She almost always ended up being their server and she said he (and his family) were the nicest people. They were unobtrusive, friendly, and excellent tippers."

ABSOLUTE DREAM: "Nicest celebrity I've ever met was Cole Sprouse. This was way before when he probably got sick of being on Riverdale and decided to just show his true colors. He took the photo of us together because I was shaking from nerves and excitement."
ABSOLUTE DREAM: "I was a bartender at the Troubadour for five years and have so many stories! Jeff Bridges was the first celeb I met. His band was playing. Before we opened, after his sound check, he made a point of coming down to us bartenders to introduce himself and thank us for helping out that night. SUCH A GEM!"
ABSOLUTE DREAM: "Jason Schwartzman came into the bar I worked in on a night that had a bunch of teenage bands playing and was super sweet to any of the kids who came up to him."
ABSOLUTE DREAM: "When I was young, I went to an Olivia Newton-John concert. I grew up watching Grease on repeat and had always loved her. At the concert, me and another young girl were invited on stage to give her flowers and introduce ourselves. On stage, l asked to get her autograph and she told me she would after the show. Post-concert, I waited with my family to get an autograph and she invited me and my dad into her fitting room and no one else. Once back there, I was so starstruck and amazed that she remembered my name! She was so kind and took pictures with me and my dad, signed a photo, gave me the set list, and wrapped it up by giving me a hug and kiss on the cheek. She spent probably an hour with us just hanging out in her room and chatting. To this day, it's one of my most cherished memories."

Hello All,
We are planning a 4 night stay in Cozumel in August and wanted to stay on the western side of the island. We wanted to stay at a hotel that has access to sandy beaches. I narrowed it down to Playa Azul Cozumel and Intercontinental Presidente.
I understand that the Intercontinental Presidente is overall a better hotel. However, for the price of a pool view room at Intercontinental, I can get a beach front room at Playa Azul. I do not care much about the restaurants at these hotels as I intend to explore local restaurants on the island in the limited time I have.
What would be a best pick based on the following criteria:

Quality of the sandy beach coves fronting these two hotels. Is one better than the other?
Is one significantly more crowded than the other?
Does Zona Hotelera Nte. get any seaweed? My whole point of spending money to book in Cozumel is to avoid seaweed.
Quality of snorkeling and water in general at the beaches fronting the hotels.

Which one should I pick?

When I was younger, in like 5th grade I remember having some sort of stomach bug. I was home alone because my mom couldn't afford to miss work, and I would vomit by myself that day. And I was completely fine. I didn't have any anxiety afterwards fhat lingered or anything. Even in middle school I remember throwing up while home alone, and being completely fine with it. Sure it sucks getting sick nobody wants that but I wasn't stressing about it. I just threw up, flushed the toilet and went back to lay down on the couch. I didn't stress about it at all after it was done.
I guess fast forward to high school, and we wrnt on a family vacation to Disney world. Land of the gerrmsss. My entire family came down with the stomach flu, including me. But of course I got it right towards the end of the trip. It was miserable. What was horrible was when I felt the onset nausea, I was on a very very very crowded Disney bus heading back to the hotel. I mean, people were standing on the bus. There was no room. I had a panic attack, i didn't want to throw up on anyone. Finally got back to the room and threw up for 12 hours. 3 days later we had to go home.. on a plane. And I was still not feeling rhat amazing, but I hadn't thrown up in days at that point. I had like PTSD from the bus and got myself so fucking worried on that plane. It like scared me for life. I didn't take the school bus for the rest of my high school career because of that trip.
I couldn't gwt into a car with other people in it (like more then 2) unless I was driving. Because I was so worried about throwing up in front of others in a small space, even when I wasn't sick!
It affected my life a lot and I hate that I allowed it to do that. Everytime I felt a slight hint of nausea I would instantly panic. I had to take super deep breaths to calm myself. Going on any sort of vacation even to just the beach wasn't a good time for me. Because I was constantly worrying about being sick and not being at home.
Fast forward till now and whenever I throw up even in our apartment my husband and I have, I cry and I shake and I have a full blown panic attack. 2 weeks ago I had the worst diahrea and vomitting (almost at the same damn time) I've had since the Disney trip. I was at the apartment. My husband held my hand , rubbed my back, told me I would be fine. Coached me on my breathing. But he had to go to work. I BEGGED him to stay. I litterally cringe at myself for how much I begged. But he couldn't. He had to go to worm. I got sick alone, and it was fuckign awful. I had to talk to my aunt on the pgone for 4 hours in order to stay calm.I couldn't sleep. He ended up coming home early, ans the MINUTE he came home, he sat and played video games and I fell asleep instantly. It's like my body wasn't allowing me to sleep until I knew he was there to help if I got sick again.
Now I spend lots of nights being paranoid about being sick. I'm also 34 weeks pregnant so I get heartburn and indigestion and all that fun stuff. I didn't have morning sickness either which is a blessing.
But I want to be like my husband, or my uncle, or my aunt, or like a lot of people I know. Or even like my younger self. I want to be able to just vomit, and not give a fuck about it. Not worry about it at all. Just throw up and move on. No anxiety before hand and no anxiety afterwards.

Hello, I posted a few weeks back and now I'm here in Melbourne for a couple of weeks only, visiting from the UK and leave on 20 june. I will be staying in the CBD next week for a few nights next weekend if anyone would like to meet up and chill out at the hotel with me and watch some films and eat pizza. This is going to be a long painful read, so be ready.
So to start this off, I will begin by explaining what kind of person I am.
I am a tall muscular multi-racial male with very intense and powerful energy and personality, as well as extremely potent psychic ability (as well as a very intimidating eyes and RBF). I have a very pronounced and expressed masculine energy, but I have been severely psychically in tune my whole life so because of this i have always had an equally strong balance of my feminine energy (which you would not be able to tell from my appearance and demeanor.)
I am generally a very strong and driven person. I am very warrior like, yet i have also focused on being intelligent and aware of everything so i can balance out and focus that strong warrior energy correctly. I have been through alot of hardship and pain in my life, more than many have been through at my age but Ive always been able to recover and clear away trauma, pain, and weakness. Because of this I basically have no long lasting traumas or weakness, except for one.
Exactly 8 years ago in june when i was still a kid i attended an acting camp at a place called “DCPA”, and thats when i met her. I remember it was the first day and i had just been dropped off and was waiting for all the other kids to be dropped off because i was one of the first to arrive. A black car pulled up and a girl got out. She was about my height, a bit shorter. She turned around and as soon as i saw her eyes, the entire world changed forever because in that moment the strongest feeling i have ever felt in my life came over me. It was like i was on ecstasy or some powerful ecstatic drug, but of course i wasnt because i was young.
When i saw her, i felt the most true knowing i have ever felt in my life that i knew her, and loved her, and nothing will ever be able to convince me otherwise. The feeling was exactly how you think you would feel if you randomly found someone you had loved and lost in a distant and forgotten past life: the moment i saw her eyes i felt echoes and feelings of memories and places and times come back to “impale” me.
The summer camp lasted for two weeks, and the strong feeling never lessened or went away for that whole time. It was so strong that I actually began to question my sanity. I cound not comprehend what i was feeling, and i still cant. That whole time, i never spoke to her. I never got the chance because they had to divide up our class, and whenever our classes would join for lunch i would be too scared, because i didn’t know how to process the magnitude of the feelings. The feelings and energy was so strong and intense and overwhelming that it scared the hell out of me, yet at the same time i never wanted it to leave. It was the only thing that ever made me feel that way.
I still remember the first time i heard her name. It was the last day and we were presenting our short plays to our families. When it was her groups turn she introduced herself.
“Sage” is her name. I dont know the right way to spell it, but as soon as i heard it I felt like i had already known it. It felt like such a perfect name for someone like her.
I still remember her play, she was acting as some sassy character that was at the beach with her friends. Every moment of those two weeks felt like an eternity, yet that eternity wasnt long enough because after those two weeks, i never saw her again.
Now 8 years, and many relationships and experiences and adventures later, she still has my heart. Like a thief in the fucking night, she took it and never returned. I have met many loving people, nad had many great relationships, but my love for them never came close to even an ounce of what i felt for her. What i feel for her.
I’ve spent 8 years thinking about her almost every day. Wondering if “today will be the day I randomly run into her again”. Hoping to bump into her while turning a corner, or driving, or going to the club.
Even though I’ve always been so psychic, i havent had a single dream, or a single vision regarding her. The only strange supernatural things I experienced that are related to her are reoccurring numbers:
449, & 616.
I never imagined that anything would be able to make me feel this way. I was always intent on becoming strong and smart and spiritually powerful through my practice. The only wishes i had were wishes of empowerment and growth for myself and those i love, yet when she came around, everything was derailed. I never thought that anything could conquer me like that, yet the one thing that did was her. And without even a single word she stole me.
The feelings were more powerful than anything I’ve ever felt before, and they are the one single thing that makes me lose control. Every day i wish that i had never met her, and that she never existed. Every day im haunted by this ghost and memory of that feeling. Every damn day i feel a voice creep from inside me, saying: “please i just want to see her again.” Nothing has ever had such a hold on me, and i never wanted anything to. Its not healthy, and its not right. Especially because this happened 8 years ago.
I just want to finally let go. I dont want to forget, because i want to become strong enough to be able to look back on it all and feel free. I want to be released.
I just want my Heart back.

2023.06.02 03:55 RemyGDC Dog and points shamed at Flagship Bethesda hotel

Ugh. What a nightmare experience today with Marriott. I want to never ever stay with them ever again. I miss Starwoods. We needed to stay in a hotel tonight because a pipe burst in my house and it’s dangerous for my family to stay in my house so I booked a room at Marriott’s new flagship hotel in Bethesda since I can get club level access that allows food access for my young kids. When I made the reservation I checked the button on the app that I was bringing a dog. The Bo boy app allowed me to book the reservation with the dog. When we showed up to the hotel they told me I was not allowed to stay at the hotel because of the dog… but the app let me book the hotel room with the dog as part of the reservation. So they relocated me to the AC… I asked if they would give me extra points for the inconvenience because now I’m staying at a hotel that doesn’t have the amenities I needed (the club food for the kids and the pool) They said no. Rudely. So we left. When I called customer service I was escalated to Dolorous jones elite service supervisor “her decision not to give me any points”
She put me on hold for like 5 minutes and then when she was done I was like so what are the next steps and she’s like nothing we are done bye. She could have done this after we were done talking. Why waste my time. To make matters worse she put me on hold to take notes and the person below her offered me 5,000 points for the inconvenience but she decided not to honor that. Who takes away points the person below them offers the customer? What is this the soup Nazi?
Does Marriott not value their customers? Why should I be penalized for their error with their app and their rude customer service? Why wont they provide their customers any sort of reward for their errors. I’m beyond annoyed and want to raise this to the Mr Marriott himself. Who hires the worst customer service reps in the world?!! If they want to keep their customers they need to make them happy.
