2023.06.09 19:17 BTCJJ I believe what was in the Las Vegas video was a raccoon, or at the very least, some sort of animal. Hear me out...
| Playing devils advocate here. Granting that there actually is something in the video, which it vary vary vaguely looks like something could be moving and not just some sort of compression effect... I believe it is a raccoon. https://www.reddit.com/aliens/comments/144v8x0/look_where_i_screenshot_and_circled_in_red_as_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 This is the best video I believe. Credit to this user for noticing movement on the roof. This for me, paints a much clearer picture. Look closely when he zooms and circles, right above the white line (roof) of the front loader, you see something turn then climb down the back. Look closely at it before it starts to climb down. There appears to be a tiny face with a band across its eyes (raccoon). It turns around, notices the people, climbs down from the roof (stretching its body down to lower itself) probably making it look like something long that's as high as the front loader. As for alien head with 2 large black eyes blinking? I think the large round circles are just the gaps of darkness under the raccoon and between its legs. As the racoon turns its body the "eyes" or circles change shape and size, making it appear to be blinking. This is just the space between the racoons legs moving. Classic case of pareidolia. And the light grey 'alien head' is just the body fur of the raccoon. ( SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS BELOW FOR WHAT I MEAN!) https://preview.redd.it/rswcw26b015b1.jpg?width=570&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b79de77158f6fe29994ac94d1fe7e512de4d7b5c https://preview.redd.it/i0atz2t8015b1.jpg?width=1365&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e49bd1354ab37cc19a4ada2ca4edc693b7e7f913 Decent video of the head and the eyes "blinking" https://www.reddit.com/UFOs/comments/144twml/please_watch_before_saying_there_is_nothing_there/ You can vaguely see the little tiny leg in between the "eyes" My guess? They heard a bang. That's enough to get most people worked up... But then, they hear walking on the roof, most likely a pack of raccoons, I have hoards of raccoons in my area, and when they walk on the roof they are loud as fuuuck. The raccoons were also probably startled by the sound so they jump down and start scurrying away and that's the 'footsteps' they heard outside. The racoons hear people coming outside and start making their way away towards the back... where we see them , or one, on the front loader. The family goes outside, and now completely freaked out that they've heard footsteps on the roof, just like i would be, any single thing they see is going to startle them. The raccoon stepping down from the roof of the front loader extends his body, making him look super long and gray, also could have been a couple as they stay really tight. The family sees movement, freaks the fuck out, calls police. Hell i wouldn't have gone back there either if i were them. My guess, is that they went back and looked at the ring footage later, realized it was racoons, was embarrassed, scrubbed the 2 minutes of footage (assuming govt didn't take it) and decide they could run with the story seeing as even the cop sort of believed them. Anyone who lives around racoons knows they can be super fuckin camouflaged. So they aren't going to come out perfectly clear, especially on such a bad quality video, far away in the dark. Racoons are uncommon but not unheard of in this part of Vegas. They mostly live in the south. Could even be another animal. TL:DR- Racoon induced pareidolia. Couple other questions I have... Did they inspect the are for footprints? Where is their home located in relation to the meteor path? submitted by BTCJJ to HighStrangeness [link] [comments] |

Positive feedback and recommendations from others can give you confidence in their abilities as instructors. Consider your personal compatibility with the yoga instructors. Attend their classes or workshops if possible, or watch their instructional videos online, to get a sense of their teaching style and personality. It’s important to feel comfortable, inspired, and connected to the instructor, as this can greatly enhance your learning and motivation. - Connection and Communication:
Look for instructors who are attentive, approachable, and responsive to student needs. They should be able to provide clear instructions, offer modifications or adjustments when necessary, and be open to answering questions and providing guidance. Effective communication and a positive connection with the instructor can create a supportive learning environment. - Recommendations and Referrals:
Seek recommendations from fellow yoga practitioners, friends, or trusted sources who have previously attended yoga training in Goa. They can provide valuable insights and refer you to experienced instructors they have had positive experiences with. - Alignment with Your Goals and Values:

2023.06.09 19:06 CaratCraver The Lab Grown Diamond Market: Beware of Pricing and Certifications
Hey everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to discuss the current state of the lab grown diamond market, especially for those who are considering purchasing one. Having worked in this industry for a solid decade, I've noticed some significant changes that have a direct impact on pricing and consumer decisions.
One of the most important factors to consider is the mass production of lab grown diamonds. This has resulted in a notable decrease in their prices. For instance, if you were to buy a lab grown diamond for $1000 today, its value could potentially drop to around $500-600 in just a week or two. This price volatility is something that consumers need to be aware of and factor into their decision-making process.
Furthermore, it's crucial to emphasize the importance of doing thorough research before purchasing a lab grown diamond. While some big brands might try to convince you that their diamonds are superior, the truth is that diamonds with AGS (American Gem Society) certification can often be found with GIA (Gemological Institute of America) or IGI (International Gemological Institute) certifications. Don't fall for the marketing gimmicks and unnecessarily high prices associated with AGS certification.
Instead, I encourage you to shop around and explore different options. You might be pleasantly surprised to find the exact same quality of diamond at a more affordable price. Avoid getting caught up in the hype and remember that the goal is to make an informed decision without causing harm to anyone's sentiment.
In conclusion, as the lab grown diamond market continues to evolve, it's important for consumers to stay informed and make educated decisions. Remember to keep an eye on the fluctuating prices and do your due diligence when it comes to certifications. By doing so, you can find a high-quality lab grown diamond that suits your preferences without breaking the bank.
Happy diamond hunting, and feel free to share your experiences or ask any questions in the comments!
Note: This post is based on my personal experience in the industry and is meant to provide general advice. Individual experiences may vary. Let's keep the discussion respectful and avoid any negative sentiment towards others.

2023.06.09 19:02 endersgame69 Adopted By Humans VII C22
Lisa hummed quietly while she worked in her kitchen, maybe it was William’s influence, or maybe Rebecca’s, but she still liked making coffee the old fashioned way. Not that any of them minded using preground beans, but no technology has replaced the power of freshness.
So while I sat waiting for her to return, I simply watched what was already on her screen. It was an animated drama of some sort, maybe horror, there was a demon weeping over a grave at least, could have been anything, really.
And I just listened while she hummed along with the coffee grinder, those things have changed a lot over the years, now they were near totally silent, I saw one in an Earth museum once that made a tremendous racket, but these had only the faintest hum as the beans were reduced to powder.
I didn’t know the tune Lisa was humming, but it felt strange to hear her let out a little tune after I told her I was leaving, and of course I couldn’t know if I’d be coming back.
She and I [Redacted], and we really did like each other, a lot, actually. Of course we both knew it couldn’t last forever, we were quite literally from different worlds, and we wanted different things out of our lives.
But that didn’t mean we couldn’t have something good for a time. I had to wonder if she was thinking about this as the time to let go? Humans have a habit of putting a brave face on things, they have a whole philosophy called ‘stoicism’ which is basically just putting a show of strength on while enduring a lot of unpleasant shit.
I can’t say I liked that philosophy very much, it reminded me too much of my homeworld’s view of things. I suppose it had a valid point when it came to hard times, but it seemed too much to like hard times. At least as I understood it, perhaps I was wrong in that regard. I’m sure the subject will be hotly debated over for years.
Regardless, at that moment I was just enjoying the noise of her preparations, watching out of the corner of my eye while she brewed coffee the old fashioned way. I pause for a moment here to tell you, in addition to the supply of alcohol that went to Dlamias, at my suggestion, Bonny Red also dropped a large supply of coffee off at the neutral trading station where she had to deliver her goods. Along with directions for how to prepare it.
Now, in the capital of Dlamias, I knew for a fact that a small number of ‘coffee bars’ were starting to open up. The stay awake juice was used by a number of government employees to help keep them focused, and… well, in the Earth middle ages coffee was banned in an empire because people stayed up late talking politics while drinking the stuff. Coffee shops became hotbeds of political dissent.
It was one more little monkey wrench I’d thrown into the gears of Dlamisan society. Awake for longer and with time to talk, I had absolutely no doubt that the buried frustrations of my people would start to bubble up as surely as the water was boiling in Lisa’s pot right now.
I know my government, they’ll use the stuff to extend labor hours and keep people working harder, and they’ll put it together with food for convenience…
And my infection will spread. Longer hours, but also time to complain, and with the first humans settling in too…
The dam would burst and change would be forced. I did wonder if they would try to use military force to quell dissent. But I doubted it, especially now. In a way, this danger with the return of the Rogue World and the disappearances and the threats from the Praeda, couldn’t have come at a better time.
Concessions would be the government’s only option, and once that began, there would be no stopping it.
‘Even if I die out there, my will, will be done no matter what.’ I thought, and made the evil finger pyramid of doom with my hands.
Lisa returned a moment later with coffee in hand and a smile on her face. She sat beside me on the couch and asked, “Did you enjoy the show?”
I hadn’t really paid much attention to it, but it seemed alright. “I haven’t seen that much, but… it looks alright.”
“It’s based on an old novel, that demon,” she pointed to the ashen figure, “lost his wife to human invaders, his village, everything but his daughter. This season is based on one of the sequels in that series, he’s finally reclaimed the land where there village was, and he found her body still buried in the rubble of their home. So he had her buried there and all the grief hit him at once, everything he kept buried while he worked to raise their daughter.”
“Oh… so humans are the villains in this one?” I asked.
“Sort of.” She said as she leaned back and slipped her arm over my shoulder from behind while she drank from her glass cup. “Like, the humans started it, they built the first cities and needed labor so they started conquering nomads and villages to work their farms and whatnot. So that’s bad, but not all humans are the bad guys. Some demons are shown as bad, same for some of the elves and dwarves… I guess you could say that their ‘governments’ do bad things to each other.”
“Oh, so everybody is kind of bad sometimes?” I asked.
“Yeah, kinda.” She sipped, “A lot of gray there, most of what happens that’s bad after a certain point, happens because everybody is too afraid to stop. They don’t want to keep fighting, but they’re afraid of what happens if they pull back.”
“That’s interesting.” I said as I brought the cup to my mouth. It was hot, rich, fragrant, the rich steam rose from within and I inhaled it with the vigor of somebody bursting from beneath the water after nearly drowning and finding air again.
I made a mental note to bring some of this with me when it was time to leave, Lisa was quiet, seemingly waiting for me to explain. A lot would be necessarily classified and, reckless as I may be, I knew better than to let things like this slip.
“I’m going on a peace mission, actually, not just me. The whole family is. It’s… complicated, but Bonny Red is taking us to a neutral zone where we can talk to the Praeda, all of them, or most, at least.” I shifted a little in my seat, I didn’t want to tell her how dangerous it might be for us, but I hated keeping secrets.
“Do you know when you’ll be back?” She asked, her wide eyes fluttered a little, “Is this one of those ‘gone for decades and I’ll be an old lady by the time you get back’ talks?”
I snorted my coffee just a little and smacked my chest a few times. “No… I mean I don’t know how long I’ll be gone, but it will take months just to get there, it’s over thirty-thousand lightyears away, so even at the fastest possible speed through thick space, we’re looking at nine months travel without doing any jumps.”
She whistled long and low, “So… what you’re saying is, I’ll need to pack my toothbrush, and a pair of replacement heads for it?” She asked.
“Say what now?” I asked and my ears twitched.
She turned to the side and propped her head up in her hand, then gave me a quirky smile and said, “You’ve got all those ears and still didn’t listen to me? Alien or not, you’re definitely male.” She laughed at her own joke while I could only cock my head in confusion.
“Say what now?” I asked again.
“I want to go too.” She clarified, “Listen, Bonny Red and I have had a nice arrangement going for a while now, but alien or not, I know that woman and she’s definitely planning on spending a lot of time on Earth after all this, she’s been in the void for a few years now and I know how sailors, pirates or not, get when they finally hit a safe port. The easiest thing for all of us is if I just go along. Besides,” she held up her arm and waved one hand around her room, “I don’t really have anything holding me back. I have my degree, my job won’t go anywhere, I can sublet my apartment. And how many people get a chance to go out that far?” She asked.
“Wait, you’re serious?” I asked. I definitely wanted to know what she was talking about when it came to Bonny Red, but the more pressing matter was her thought of coming with us.
“I don’t have to be part of your envoy, I’ll just join her crew for a year or so. I’m no stranger to hard work or military stuff, you know that.” She said.
“Well, I mean, that’s up to Bonny Red, not me… but… why would you…” She stopped me by putting a hand on my chest.
“Because you and I both know this can’t last. You’ll live for hundreds of years, your stages of life are in line with mine right now, but that’s going to change. I’ll grow older, faster, maybe I’ll want to start a family of my own, something we can’t do, but even if I don’t do that, time changes all humans, faster than you know. You saw how Fauve has grown up, right?” She asked.
I could only nod. She was in her twenties now and while there were echoes of the child I knew, she was like a tree that I’d watched grow from a sapling. I could still recognize her for what she’d been, but she was not the same.
“That’s how it will be for me from my twenties to my thirties, and thirties to forties. I’m going to change, I won’t be the twenty-something who gets hammered with her friends on weekends anymore, but you’ll still be the you that you are right now, when I’m old, gray, and thinking ahead for my funeral.” She chuckled, “From my perspective, you’re kind of like if Peter Pan was a college student and not a young boy.”
I only vaguely knew the story, but I got the gist of what she meant, I just didn’t know what to say to it.
“To you, nine months, two years, three years, those may not sound like a lot. To me, they’re big bites out of my life, and when we’re done, those days won’t come back. So, if you don’t object…” For a moment she looked quite vulnerable, like she thought I very well might refuse her, inching herself away a little but leaving her hand where it was over where my hearts were beating faster by the moment.
“I’d want to go with you. If I can. If I can’t… then I have to be honest, that’s too much of my life to slip by to wait on something that can’t really last anyway.”
She wasn’t wrong. I did my very best to never think about the differences in our lifespans, but clearly that wasn’t something too far from her mind. “It’s not really up to me, but… if she refuses to let you sign on…” I didn’t want to finish that sentence.
“Right. I think she will. She understands a lot about things not lasting.” Lisa smirked a little, “I will have to figure out what to do with my hair on this trip though, there aren’t exactly seasons in space.” She ran her free hand through the long strands, and I suggested… “You could have it done like stars, put the night sky design on there instead of the season?” I suggested, and realized that in saying that, I more or less acknowledged that I wanted her to go along. I knew she was right, this might very well be the last of our times together, she was in her mid to late twenties now, I think. Twenty-five or twenty-six, even if we got out there and stayed for one day and came back, eighteen Earth months would have come and gone, and that’s if we stopped for nothing. In reality we could be gone for a full two years with ease.
“You’re a genius, Bailey.” She said and set her cup down with a smirk, “I’ll make sure to pick up enough dye for the trip, and I’ll send an ‘application’ to Bonny Red before she gets here.”
Humans do not move slowly, that much is for sure. As far as she was concerned, the matter was settled.
I wasn’t sure if Bonny Red would be alright with this, but she was frankly as strange as Lisa. For some reason, unbeknownst and inexplicable to me, I always end up surrounded by oddballs and outliers.
And you know what?
I wouldn’t have it any other way.

2023.06.09 18:54 Daviroth Reddit API Changes, Subreddit Blackout, How it Impacts You
Hello
/Browns,
tldr: we've decided to join the subreddit blackouts in regards to Reddit
making significant changes to their API, including a predatory pricing model
highlighted by the dev of Apollo here. As a result the sub will be made private for 3 days starting June 12th.
What's happening?
- Third Party Reddit apps (such as Apollo, Reddit is Fun and others) are going to become ludicrously more expensive for it's developers to run, which will in turn either kill the apps, or result in a monthly fee to the users if they choose to use one of those apps to browse. Put simply, each request to Reddit within these mobile apps will cost the developer money. The developers of Apollo were quoted around $2 million per month for the current rate of usage. The only way for these apps to continue to be viable for the developer is if you (the user) pay a monthly fee, and realistically, this is most likely going to just outright kill them. Put simply: If you use a third party app to browse Reddit, you will most likely no longer be able to do so, or be charged a monthly fee to keep it viable.
- NSFW Content is no longer going to be available in the API. This means that, even if 3rd party apps continue to survive, or even if you pay a fee to use a 3rd party app, you will not be able to access NSFW content on it. You will only be able to access it on the official reddit app. Additionally, some service bots (such as video downloaders or maybe remindme bots) will not be able to access anything NSFW. In more major cases, it may become harder for moderators of NSFW subreddits to combat serious violations such as CSAM due to certain mod tools being restricted from accessing NSFW content.
- Many users with visual impairments rely on 3rd-party applications in order to more easily interface with reddit, as the official reddit mobile app does not have robust support for visually-impaired users. This means that a great deal of visually-impaired redditors will no longer be able to access the site in the assisted fashion they’re used to.
- Many moderators rely on 3rd-party tools in order to effectively moderate their communities. When the changes to the API kicks in, moderation across the board will not only become more difficult, but it will result in lower consistency, longer wait times on post approvals, modmails, and reports, and much more spam/bot activity getting through the cracks.
What's next?
In lieu of what's happening above,
an open letter has been released by the broader moderation community, and
we will be supporting it. You can see a full list of subreddits joining the blackout
here.
As a result,
/Browns will be going to private on June 12th, lasting for at least 72 hours until June 15th. If Reddit announces changes or the blackout movement increases in some way we will be staying as part of the group, this could mean ending early or extending if deemed necessary/impactful.
There is a Browns Discord community, here is the invite link. This action is not something we take lightly. We understand that many of you enjoy coming here daily and this will be an interruption to your routine.
Please feel free to leave your thoughts and comments below.
Over and out,
/Browns Moderation Team

2023.06.09 18:53 Responsible_Will_320 Making Friends as an Adult: Exploring Different Types of Connections
Hello! I'm making this post to help out other people who struggle with making friends are just need some advice. Whether this is helpful or not you can tell me. But I think you'll be able to leave with something. So let gets started. There are four main types of friends:
- Social Friends: These are the buddies we meet through shared interests and social activities. They bring a refreshing break from our routines and offer companionship and support when needed.
- Work Friends: Colleagues can become friends too! Building relationships in the workplace not only enhances our professional lives but also creates a sense of community and support during office hours.
- School Friends: Remember those classmates we used to hang out with? Reconnecting with old-school friends or making new ones through educational pursuits can add a touch of nostalgia and support to our adult lives.
- Online Friends: With the rise of social media and online communities, friendships formed in digital spaces can be just as meaningful as offline connections. They provide a global network of individuals with shared interests and experiences.
Each type of friendship has its pros and cons, but don't let that discourage you. Embrace the opportunities that come with meeting new people and building connections. Remember, friendship adds richness to our lives, no matter the form it takes. Okay now that I got that over with, let's break down "Social Friends".
Social friends, as the name suggests, are the friends you make through social events like parties, movie gatherings, book clubs, and more. These connections can also be formed online through various platforms. However, navigating social friendships can sometimes be a bit tricky.
When you meet people at social events, it's natural to assume that they are open to making new friends. However, it's important to remember that everyone's motivations for attending these events can vary. Some may be looking to expand their social circle, while others may simply be seeking a fun activity or a change of scenery.
To build a deeper connection with social friends, you'll need to put yourself out there. Since you already share a common interest or hobby, leverage that as a starting point for conversation and connection. Ask questions, show genuine interest, and actively listen to what they have to say. By engaging in meaningful conversations and finding common ground, you can establish a stronger bond.
Keep in mind that building friendships takes time and effort from both sides. Don't be discouraged if not every interaction leads to an instant connection. It's okay to take it slow and let the friendship develop naturally over time.
Remember, the key is to be open, approachable, and willing to invest in building a deeper connection with your social friends. By doing so, you can cultivate meaningful relationships that extend beyond the social event itself.
Feel free to share your own experiences and tips for making friends through social events in the comments below. Let's keep the conversation going and help each other navigate the world of adult friendships!
Pros of Social Friends:
- Common Interests: Social events bring people together who share similar interests or hobbies, providing a natural foundation for building friendships.
- Fun and Excitement: Participating in enjoyable activities with friends can bring a sense of excitement, making social events memorable experiences.
- Variety of People: Social events attract diverse individuals, giving you the opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and perspectives.
- Shared Experiences: Bonding over shared experiences can create a sense of camaraderie and deepen the connection with your social friends.
- Expansion of Social Circle: Making friends at social events helps expand your social circle, providing opportunities for future gatherings and connections.
Cons of Social Friends:
- Surface-Level Connections: Since social events often involve meeting many people, friendships formed in these settings may initially remain superficial and require further effort to develop.
- Varying Commitment Levels: Not everyone attending social events is actively seeking new friendships, which can lead to uneven commitment levels and potential disappointment.
- Limited Time Together: Depending on the frequency of social events, you might not have ample time to build deep connections with every person you meet.
- Overlapping Friend Circles: In some cases, your social friends may already be part of other social circles, which can complicate dynamics and impact the exclusivity of your friendships.
- Difficulty Sustaining Connections: Maintaining friendships made through social events can be challenging, particularly if events are infrequent or if there is a lack of shared interests outside of those events.
Remember, these pros and cons can vary depending on individual experiences and preferences. The key is to approach social friendships with an open mind, invest time in getting to know others and be receptive to the possibilities that each connection brings.
Okay, now Work Friends.
Work friendships can be quite challenging to navigate, often resembling a turbulent tsunami rather than gentle waves. It's not because the people you meet at work are necessarily unpleasant; it's more about the nature of the work environment itself. Let's face it—nobody truly enjoys working. Spending five days a week, eight to ten hours a day, engaged in work tasks can be draining for anyone. This shared experience of work-related stress can sometimes affect interactions and dynamics among colleagues.
When it comes to making friends with your coworkers, it's crucial to understand the pace and dynamics of your workplace. Consider the fact that people come and go from organizations frequently. Trying to forge deep connections with everyone within your first few days might not be the most sensible approach. Not only may you end up leaving the job yourself, but others may not have had the chance to truly get to know you yet.
However, if you genuinely want to make friends at work, there are a few strategies to keep in mind. Firstly, take the time to observe and understand the work culture. Each workplace has its own norms and dynamics, so it's important to respect and adapt to them. Secondly, be patient and allow relationships to develop naturally over time. Engage in casual conversations, show interest in others, and look for common ground to bond over. Building trust and rapport takes time, so don't rush the process.
Lastly, remember to maintain professional boundaries. While it's great to have friends at work, it's important to separate personal and professional aspects. Avoid getting involved in office politics or gossip, as it can strain relationships and harm your professional reputation.
Work friendships can be rewarding and provide a sense of camaraderie in an often demanding environment. By understanding the pace, respecting the work culture, and investing in genuine connections, you can navigate the challenges and create meaningful relationships with your coworkers.
Share your own experiences and tips for making friends at work in the comments below. Let's continue the discussion and support each other in building strong work friendships!
Certainly! Here are some pros and cons of making friends with your coworkers:
Pros:
- Shared Understanding: Your coworkers understand the challenges and intricacies of your work environment, providing a unique understanding and support system.
- Increased Collaboration: Building friendships at work can foster a sense of teamwork and collaboration, leading to better communication and productivity.
- Networking Opportunities: Your coworkers can serve as valuable connections for professional growth, job opportunities, and career advancement.
- Social Support: Work friends can offer emotional support, lend a listening ear, and provide a sense of camaraderie during stressful work situations.
- Enhanced Job Satisfaction: Having positive relationships with your colleagues can contribute to overall job satisfaction and enjoyment of the workplace.
Cons:
- Blurred Boundaries: It can be challenging to maintain a clear separation between personal and professional life when your friends are also your coworkers.
- Office Politics: Becoming involved in office politics or favoritism can strain relationships and potentially impact your professional reputation.
- Potential Conflicts of Interest: Disagreements or conflicts within the workplace can create tension in friendships and affect the overall work environment.
- Limited Social Diversity: Relying solely on work friends for social interaction may limit exposure to a diverse range of perspectives and experiences.
- Transient Nature: As people change jobs or move on to different organizations, work friendships can be subject to change or fade away.
Remember, these pros and cons may vary depending on individual circumstances and workplace dynamics. It's important to approach work friendships with a level of professionalism, set boundaries, and navigate any challenges that may arise in a thoughtful manner.
Okay we move on to school friends.
School friends are relatively straightforward to make, especially if you're in college or high school. Typically, the people you sit around in class or interact with regularly are likely to become your friends. School friendships are generally less complex, and you don't have to worry as much about personality differences or introversion. Since you're all around the same age, the chances of encountering bullies or harm are relatively low.
However, it's important to remember that not everyone will share the same interests and hobbies. Avoid trying to force conversations or make people like what you like. Instead, embrace the diversity of interests and engage in open-minded discussions to learn from one another.
If you want to maintain long-term school friendships, make an effort to stay in touch without being overly clingy. It's a two-way street, and not everyone may prioritize keeping in touch with old friends. If that's the case, be understanding and open to making new connections. Don't be afraid to reach out to old school friends via direct messages or social media to see if you can hang out occasionally.
Remember, the key is to find a balance between maintaining school friendships and embracing new opportunities for social connections. Keep in mind that people's lives can change after school, and priorities may shift. Be open to new friendships and experiences while cherishing the memories and connections you have made.
Here are some pros and cons of school friendships:
Pros:
- Proximity and Commonality: School friends are often easy to make because you are in close proximity to your classmates and share common experiences.
- Shared Academic Goals: School friends can provide academic support, study partners, and help each other navigate coursework and assignments.
- Sense of Belonging: School friendships contribute to a sense of belonging and community within the educational environment.
- Social Development: Interacting with peers in school helps develop social skills, communication abilities, and the ability to navigate different personalities.
- Long-Term Connections: School friendships have the potential to develop into long-lasting relationships, providing a network of support beyond the school years.
Cons:
- Limited Exposure: School friendships may lack diversity in terms of age, background, and interests, which can limit exposure to different perspectives.
- Transient Nature: School friends may drift apart or change as educational paths diverge or people move on to different stages of life.
- Cliques and Exclusivity: School environments can sometimes foster cliques or exclusive social groups, making it challenging to break into established circles.
- Academic Pressure: Balancing academic demands and social interactions can be challenging, potentially leading to stress or neglect of friendships.
- Limited Compatibility: While you may be close in age, not all school friends will share the same interests or values, making it harder to form deep connections.
It's important to keep in mind that these pros and cons can vary depending on individual experiences and the specific school environment. School friendships can be valuable, but it's also important to explore relationships beyond the school setting to broaden your social horizons.
Online friendships can indeed be one of the easiest ways to make friends, especially for introverts. The barrier to entry is incredibly low—all you need is a device with internet access to connect with people from all around the world. It's as simple as turning on your PC, phone, Xbox, or PlayStation and reaching out to make friends.
In the online world, friendships can form quickly and effortlessly. You can meet someone while playing a game together and instantly click, or simply connect by following each other on social media platforms like Twitter. Online friends can feel like the best companions for introverts because they understand the need for personal space and the comfort of connecting from behind a screen.
Of course, it's important to exercise caution when making online friends to ensure you're not being catfished or deceived. Be mindful of sharing personal information and use common sense when engaging with new acquaintances. While online interactions may lack face-to-face communication, it doesn't mean you should abandon basic social etiquette or forget how to interact with others. Treat online friends with respect, kindness, and the same level of decency you would extend to offline friends.
Remember, online friendships can bring incredible joy and a sense of belonging, but it's essential to strike a balance between virtual connections and real-life interactions. Don't isolate yourself solely in the online realm—try to maintain a healthy mix of online and offline friendships.
Feel free to share your own experiences and tips for making friends online in the comments below. Let's continue the conversation and help each other navigate the world of online friendships! Another important aspect of online friendships is the potential for them to grow into real-life friendships. While online interactions provide a convenient and accessible way to connect, it doesn't mean that these connections have to remain confined to the digital realm.
As your online friendship deepens and strengthens, there may come a time when you feel comfortable and ready to meet your online friend in person. This can be an exciting opportunity to take your friendship to the next level and solidify your connection. Meeting in real life allows you to engage in shared experiences, explore common interests, and create lasting memories together.
However, it's important to prioritize safety when transitioning from an online friendship to an offline one. Take necessary precautions, such as meeting in public places, informing others of your plans, and trusting your instincts. Trust and open communication are key throughout this process.
It's worth noting that not all online friendships will develop into real-life friendships, and that's perfectly okay. Some connections may remain exclusively online, and that can be fulfilling in its own right. The beauty of online friendships is their versatility—they can exist purely in the virtual space or extend into the offline world if both parties are comfortable and willing.
Here are some pros and cons of online friendships:
Pros:
- Accessibility: Online friendships are easy to initiate and maintain, as they only require an internet connection and a compatible device.
- Broad Connections: You can connect with people from around the world, expanding your social network and exposing yourself to diverse perspectives and cultures.
- Introvert-friendly: Online friendships can be particularly appealing to introverts, as they provide a sense of connection and companionship without the pressure of face-to-face interactions.
- Shared Interests: Online platforms allow you to connect with individuals who share similar hobbies, interests, or passions, fostering deep connections and meaningful conversations.
- Flexibility: Online friendships offer flexibility in terms of communication, allowing you to interact at your own convenience and fit it into your schedule.
Cons:
- Limited Face-to-Face Interaction: Online friendships lack the physical presence and nonverbal cues that come with in-person interactions, which can sometimes hinder the depth of connection.
- Trust and Safety Concerns: It's important to be cautious and mindful of potential risks, such as catfishing, scams, or online harassment. Establishing trust and verifying identities is crucial.
- Potential for Misinterpretation: Online communication can sometimes be misinterpreted due to the absence of tone of voice or body language, leading to misunderstandings or conflicts.
- Superficiality: Some online friendships may remain superficial, as the limited nature of online interactions may make it difficult to develop deep, lasting connections.
- Balancing Online and Offline Relationships: It's important to strike a balance between online and offline friendships, ensuring that you have a healthy mix of virtual and real-life connections.
Remember, every friendship is unique, and these pros and cons may vary depending on individual circumstances and experiences. It's important to approach online friendships with caution, establish trust gradually, and maintain a healthy balance with offline interactions.

2023.06.09 18:47 AlBorne75 asia destination with low cost of living & long stay without hassle
What is a good country in asia to spend some time and save money while not having too much stress? Been nomading a bit and want to stay in a place for some time without having the stress of figuring out the next place so soon. In thailand now, and cost of living is relatively low (not as much as you'd think after just internet research but still ok) but it's a hassle figuring out how to stay here longer than a month. Every 30 days you have to do something to extend stay. It's a burden. Any suggestions?

pictures of my current nose for reference
Does anyone have experience with getting rhinoplasty with Turkish doctor Turgut Yuce? If so, can you please share your experience?
I genuinely like his work way more than any doctors I’ve seen in America. Also, he doesn’t do the typical Turkey “Barbie nose” that so many doctors do-which I am not a fan of. I want something that still looks natural for me. I received a $5200 estimate which includes 9 day hotel stay, transportation to airport and clinic, and daily breakfast. This is far cheaper than the typical $10,000 estimate I’ve received here in Denver Colorado. I broke my nose about a decade ago and had to get surgery to be able to breathe so mine would typically be considered a “revision rhinoplasty”.
In general, any Americans here who have traveled to Turkey for rhinoplasty? Any advice?

2023.06.09 18:33 OfAshes [A Game of Chess] - Chapte 46 - Haerkirsha
Story Teaser: Chess is truly an interesting game, even with only one board. Managing the wants of your pawns, the directions they want to go against the ones you need them to - it is said that the God of Chess was the only one who understood it properly, and, as everyone knows, all the gods died centuries ago, in the Thousand Years War.
But this game is different. 3 pairs of players with 3 boards stacked on top of one another, a single Wild Card crowning the final game. That Wild Card is Melony, a girl living in the dying City who abruptly finds herself thrown into a world that confuses past, future, and present. Who will be the victor, and what does it mean to win?

MELONY GASPED FOR AIR, mind straining to catch up with the movement of the world around her. Closing her eyes, she carefully steadied her breathing, feeling more stable with each breath. Reopening her eyes, she found herself nearly blinded by the soft silver glow of the stars leaking through the ceiling a stark contrast to the dim red haze that she’d recently emerged from.
Mel was standing in the middle of the room in the center of a diagram that looked to be the composite of a circle and a rune. Eyes widening with some level of surprise, Mel surveyed the room, a little taken aback by the two familiar people who had definitely not been there when she’d left.
The Old Man had taken a seat at the table where the chess board was perched, while none other than Agatha was sitting across from him, looking thoughtful as he explained something. Further back, Marsha was leaning against the back wall next to Sora, who’d perched on the table and was attempting to replicate a rune that Marsha had drawn, green magic swirling around her hand. At the other end of that wall, Samheim, Simon, Tock, and Clemens were discussing something, with Clemens looking slightly stunned by the presence of the other three in equal measure.
Stepping out of the center of the room, Mel briefly stumbled, raising her hand to her head for a moment before the world unwound itself into its proper shape. “I didn’t expect to find you two here,” she said, addressing Clemens and Agatha as she moved towards Sora and pulled herself up onto the table beside her.
Clemens glanced up at the sound of her voice, giving a slight wave of his hand in greeting. “Neither did we?” he remarked. “I mean, we sort of thought…”
“Clemens,” interrupted his sister, “shut up.” Turning to look at Melony, she gave a slight shrug, her pale blue eyes unreadable. “What my brother means is that, like it or not, we were a part of this. And we are
not going to be left out of the ending.”
Yeah, yeah, Daederisha cut in.
That’s very nice, I’m sure. But do try not to look so depressed, Old Man. The plan worked! Be happy! Congratulate the winner of the last chess game! The Old Man glared at the sword for a moment, then turned away without further acknowledging its presence. Then, he crossed to the back of the room, next to the long table on the back wall, and pushed open part of the wall, revealing a hidden door. “I know you’re there, Ardeln,” he said tiredly as he exited the house and took a few steps into the moonlight. “Eavesdropping is generally considered rude, you know.”
The Aspect of Justice moved into Melony’s line of sight, shrugging slightly. Then, abruptly, he straightened, his face serious and humorless. “I saw her symbol,” he said without preamble, and Mel noticed that one hand was resting on a new demon sword sheathed at his side.
The Old Man paused briefly, then tilted his head to one side. “I don’t feel like explaining this again,” he said shortly.
Ardeln smiled briefly, eyes now moving into the room as he tried to identify each member. “That’s fine, that’s fine,” he said airily. “It’s not too hard to guess, anyway.” His eyes fixed on Marsha, and she stiffened, a flash of anger passing over her eyes.
“I brought a peace offering, Sphere of Runes,” he said, unsheathing the sword and laying it flat across his extended hands. “This is Almelneda. I was one of the 4 demons to create it directly after the Thousand Years War.”
I’m not sure if it’s nice to see you again, Almelneda remarked carefully,
but I have a feeling that it’s probably the right thing to say. So! It’s nice to see you again, Sphere of Magic. Marsha stared down at the sword for a moment before a half-hysterical laugh burbled up in her chest. “Why would I want this? Why would I want to see it?”
Ardeln paused briefly. “I wasn’t
giving it to you. The peace offering was that I am carrying Almelneda with me. As to why… I, ah, might have snuck a look at the contract? I saw the provision about memories, and thought that you’d either added it or supported it being there.” He paused again, glancing towards Simon. “If I’d known you were involved, Sphere of Technology, I would have brought something for you, too.”
Simon remained silent, his steel gray eyes regarding Marsha. She regarded the sword for a moment more, then looked up at the Aspect of Justice. “I think you’re being sincere,” she started, then narrowed her eyes. “And I really don’t care. I appreciate the gesture, but it is, ultimately, meaningless to me.” She paused, then looked at the Old Man. “I don’t think I care anymore,” she said, “about what happens to demons. You can try again in a few hundred years and see if I’m less bitter, then.”
The Aspect of Justice looked briefly surprised, then thoughtful. He took a step back, sheathing Almelneda, and turned to the Old Man. Still, he stayed in the clearing. He did not retreat past the tree line, but neither did he enter the house.
Simon spoke next, quietly. “I am going to agree with Marsha on all counts,” he said, then continued with a slight smile, “which isn’t something I ever thought I’d say. I appreciate the attempt to make amends, Ardeln, but…” he shook his head.
Tock, somewhat to Mel’s surprise, was the next to speak, their voice reverberating through the room. “You destroyed everything. Some lost things are never recovered, but that doesn’t mean we don’t try. I think that you have not fully communicated with Almelneda if you think that we can forgive you for being the person you were and doing the things that you did.
Mel noted with some amusement that the mortals in the room, herself included, were observing the conversation with almost a quiet awe. Agatha had a crystal that was probably a recording crystal in her hand, and she looked slightly defiant when Mel shot her a look. “This is important,” Agatha hissed, “historical, even.” Then, she paused, glancing down at the stone in her hand. “I’ve been spending too much time with my brother and I’m going to blame this on him,” she concluded.
The Old Man opened his hand slightly to reveal the true rune, which was glowing softly. “There,” he said softly. “I kept my promise, old friend.”
The Aspect of Justice looked at the rune and hesitated. “Would she have…ah, there has to be a better word than ‘forgive.’ That’s not what I mean. But…?”
“You can ask her yourself,” the Old Man said with a sad smile. “But I wouldn’t recommend it. I don’t think she’s going to want to think about that right now.”
Ardeln noticed the rune with a start. “Is that her…?” Then he paused and regarded the Old Man with narrowed eyes. “Were you…?”
The Old Man burst out laughing at that, and though it was obvious that he was still struggling with something, the laughter seemed completely sincere to Mel.
Sora raised a hand. “Um?” she remarked, shooting a questioning glance around the room.
Simon leaned forward, obviously also amused. “Though we gods do not share this custom, for demons, giving one another their true circle is a courtship ritual.”
Mel tilted her head to one side. “How is he thinking about
that right now?” she wondered aloud.
Samheim shrugged. “You know that feeling when you have way too many important things spinning through your head and instead of bringing one of them to center focus, your brain focuses on something completely random instead?”
Clemens nodded. “Yeah. That.”
Marsha, impossibly, also seemed to be on the verge of laughter, despite her previous interaction with the demon. “Oh, come on,” she said. “You’ve talked to Daederisha and Almelneda. They have memories of her. Do you really think she had eyes for anyone but Odera?”
Tock seemed to consider this, tilting their head to one side. “I suppose a lot of things didn’t work out for her,” he said simply.
Though Tock had spoken quietly, their words still drew the Old Man’s attention. “Don’t think like that,” he said severely. “The Sphere of Knowledge might not have been interested in anyone that way, but they were still very good friends. By all rights they shouldn’t have been, mind you, what with Odera’s serious personality and Allessa’s overly dramatic one. But even if she couldn’t win all the way – couldn’t bring it into checkmate – she always found a way to move the board into check. She couldn’t save the world, but she still fixed it. She couldn’t live, but she didn’t die.”
That’s a bit hypocritical, coming from you, remarked Daederisha.
Since I’m pretty sure you
think that way, Old Man. The Old Man shrugged. “So I’m a hypocrite. I thought you Remembered me, Daederisha – you really should’ve already known that.” The Old Man finished speaking, and as quickly as it had come, the flash of humor in his eyes was gone.
Mel crossed her arms, observing the exchange with narrowed eyes. “I have a question,” she remarked mildly, drawing everyone’s attention. “I saw you as one of the exceptions in the contract, Aspect of Strategy. Are you not rebinding your name to a rune?”
The Old Man looked slightly surprised at this question. “I never fought in the War,” he said simply, “so there was no reason for my circle to be bound to the Abyss.” Then he paused. “But we’ll see.”
As his words faded away, an odd, uneasy quiet settled over the group, and Melony narrowed her eyes further as certain pieces clicked together in her mind. Earlier, Daederisha had said “the winner of the
last chess game” – she didn’t think there was an Aspect of Chess, so when Allessa died, so would her game.
Unexpectedly, Mel felt a sharp pang at the thought. Chess had only made her life difficult, but it felt… exciting. Wild.
How much had really been lost? How much from before the Thousand Years War had also felt like this?
The Old Man was turned away from the small house, gazing off into the moonlight, but he turned around quickly, an instant after Mel became aware of the sound of footsteps on wood.
Melony turned around, coming face to face with a seemingly young child leaning in the hall doorway, black and red eyes staring up at them in triumph. There were two roses, black and red, nestled in her hair, and a network of pulsing scars that crept slowly up her arm.
“What are you being so quiet for?” the god of chess demanded, “Come on, congratulate the winner of my last chess game!”

2023.06.09 18:26 GumboldTaikatalvi Lethargy
I've been doing IF since late 2019. Started with 16/8, then extended it to 20/40 some time in 2020, which usually ended up being just one meal a day. I was fine most of the time and didn't run into any major issues. Since I've reached my goal long ago, I'm more relaxed now in regards to rules and allow myself days off, as long as my weight stays stable each month.
However, lately I noticed some changes. I often feel lethargic and like I have no energy to do anything. I understand that this could just be a mental problem, but it's combined with physical feelings, like feeling very bloated and hot, sometimes with a headache too. This usually happens after eating but it can last several hours. For example, today I ate at 12 pm and still feel like this now, more than six hours later.
I know, in the end the answer always is "talk to your doctor" but I was just wondering if anyone experienced something similar.

2023.06.09 18:26 Rose_970 Benefits of TTC at 30+
I won't link the specific post, but that yucky post yesterday made me reflect on all of pros of trying to start a family in your thirties or forties. I thought it might be fun to hear from the community about the benefits of starting the TTC journey after your twenties. I have shared some of mine below and would love to hear yours! For context, I met my husband when I was 29, we got married when I was 32, and we began TTC when I was 33. I'm now 34 and we've been TTC for 1.5 years. None of these are requirements for starting a family by any means, just things about my own personal journey that I'm grateful for.
- I'd dated enough people by the time I met my husband that I really knew what I was looking for in a partner, and felt confident that I'd picked the right person to start a family with. I didn't have any questions about his character or how he would be as a father. There are no doubts or what-ifs, there's no wondering if there is someone better for me out there, which I certainly felt about some of my partners when I was younger.
- My husband and I were able to put in long hours at the start of our careers and move up the ladder a bit, so that we will have a strong financial foundation when we have children. This isn't required by any means, but I'm glad that I know I will be able to buy the items I want and need for pregnancy and having a child, and to able to travel with my child and have fun experiences with them like music classes or going to the zoo.
- I got my partying out! I've had my nights of staying up until 3 am, dancing or being out at the bar, and I've gotten it out of my system. I don't feel any FOMO about spending a Friday night at home watching movies.
- I have a good sense of my own identity and values. I've had the chance to move around the country, try different careers, make friends with different people, and hone my sense of self. I didn't feel very confident in my early 20s, and I don't think that I would have made a good parent when I didn't have a very clear idea of who I was or what was important to me.
- My parents are now retired (and we have a good relationship), so they will be able to help with childcare and postpartum care for an extended period of time.

2023.06.09 18:26 Professional_Disk131 Tinka Drills 98 Meters At 8.8% Zinc Including 36 Meters At 19.0% Zinc At Ayawilca And Provides Exploration Update (TSXV:TK)(BVL:TK)(OTCQB:TKRFF)
| https://preview.redd.it/13ojjx1iq05b1.png?width=413&format=png&auto=webp&s=206488888b91ac7f9bcc2c3d61b995cc70ee58d5 Vancouver, Canada – Tinka Resources Limited (" Tinka" or the " Company") ( TSXV & BVL: TK) ( OTCQB: TKRFF) is pleased to announce results for five recent drill holes from the Ayawilca Project and to provide an update on the Company’s exploration activities. All five drill holes were resource confirmation holes from West Ayawilca, and all intersected strong zinc mineralization. The Company has now successfully completed its 11,000-metre drill program at Ayawilca which commenced midway through 2022. Two drill rigs were demobilized during May 2023 and independent mining consultants have now been engaged to complete an updated mineral resource estimate. The 2022-23 drill program has significantly improved the geological model of the mineralized zinc bodies at West and South Ayawilca and improved the confidence in the continuity of mineralization. One exploration hole at South Ayawilca has results pending. The next steps for the project include an updated resource estimate to be announced during Q3 2023 and the continuation of low impact exploration. Key Highlights – Drill hole results from West Ayawilca: Hole A23-216 - 97.9 metres at 8.8% zinc and 16 g/t silver from 197.90 metres depth, including
- 35.8 metres at 19.0% zinc and 35 g/t silver from 260.0 metres depth, including
- 13.5 metres at 25.3% zinc and 44 g/t silver from 265.5 metres depth.
Hole A23-217 - 71.9 metres at 5.5% zinc and 8 g/t silver from 186.1 metres depth, including
- 45.8 metres at 6.4% zinc and 10 g/t silver from 210.4 metres depth, including
- 4.85 metres at 15.2% zinc and 23 g/t silver from 210.4 metres depth.
Hole A23-213 - 30.4 metres at 6.0% zinc from 180.0 metres depth, including
- 1.2 metres at 37.2% zinc from 207.3 metres depth, and
- 30.5 metres at 5.1% zinc from 260.0 metres depth.
Hole A22-211 - 38.15 metres at 6.3% zinc, 1.1% lead and 28 g/t silver from 151.0 metres depth, including
- 6.6 metres at 9.2% zinc, 5.2% lead and 81 g/t silver from 182.55 metres depth.
Hole A22-214 - 13.1 metres at 3.7% zinc from 243.9 metres depth
True thicknesses of these intercepts are estimated to be at least 75% of the downhole thicknesses. Dr. Graham Carman, Tinka’s President and CEO, stated: "The 2022-23 drill program has been one of the most successful drill programs since Tinka began exploring at Ayawilca. The latest results highlight the quality of the zinc mineralization at Ayawilca in terms of both grade and thickness and provide strong confidence in the geological resource." "We have confirmed at West Ayawilca that two pipe-like sulphide bodies hosted by brecciated limestones extend through the 100-200-metre-thick limestones and are connected by massive sulphides at the base. At South Ayawilca, very high-grade massive sulphide zinc mineralization is concentrated in a folded limestone at shallower depth - this discovery has the potential to be a ‘starter mine’ which could provide early payback." "Our contention that Ayawilca is one of the best zinc exploration and development projects in the Americas has been reinforced by the recent drill program. I wish to thank our staff, our stakeholders at the project and our drilling contractor for their hard work which has enabled this drill program to be successfully completed. We now look forward to the mineral resource update for the Ayawilca Zinc Zone and Tin Zone deposits, which will be released during Q3 2023. In the meantime, low impact exploration is continuing at Ayawilca and at our nearby Silvia copper-gold project." Discussion - Geology of the Zinc Zone Deposits at Ayawilca A total of 11,115 metres were drilled in 33 holes at Ayawilca during the 2022-23 drill program (see Figure 1). Around 90% of the drill holes were focused at West and South Ayawilca for resource confirmation and definition purposes. Two holes were also drilled at Central Ayawilca for the dual purposes of exploration and a hydrological study. The 2022-23 drill program has considerably improved our understanding of the geology of the Ayawilca Zinc Zone and improved the confidence in the geometry of the mineralized bodies at West and South. Two of the most important conclusions from the drilling include: - At West Ayawilca, two pipe-like zinc sulphide bodies hosted by brecciated limestones extend through the 100- to 200-metre-thick limestone sequence along a northwest-southeast trend and are connected by massive sulphide mineralization at the base of the limestone;
- At South Ayawilca, very high-grade massive sulphide zinc mineralization is concentrated within a tightly folded limestone at relatively shallow depth - this discovery has the potential to be a ‘starter mine’ which could provide early payback of capital.
West Ayawilca The footprint of the zinc mineralization hosted by limestones at West Ayawilca covers an area of approximately 700 metres by 300 metres projected to surface (see Figure 1). Drilling in 2022-23 focused on defining the geometry of two pipe-like breccia bodies which host continuous, semi-massive sulphide (SMS) mineralization within the limestone. The breccia bodies have surface dimensions of between 100 to 200 metres and are elongated along a northwest-southeast direction. Zinc mineralization extends over a vertical thickness of between 100 to 150 metres through the entire brecciated limestone sequence up to the overlying sandstones. The breccia bodies are connected by massive sulphide (MS) zinc mineralization at the base of the limestone. Zinc sulphide (as sphalerite) is the dominant economic mineralization. Silver and lead (as silver sulphosalts and galena) is typically more common around the edges of the zinc bodies and in carbonate-rich veins. Iron sulphides are common including pyrite, marcasite, and pyrrhotite. Carbonate (siderite, an Fe-rich variety) is the dominant gangue mineral. The new interpretation of the geology at West Ayawilca is the result of a redesigned drill program in 2022-23 which targeted the northwest-southeast trend rather than the late-stage east-west trending veins which outcrop. All 13 holes at West Ayawilca in the 2022-23 program were drilled on an east-west orientation (mostly angled to the west) in contrast to previous holes which were mostly orientated north-south. The improvement in vertical continuity of the mineralization is positive for the project, as it will likely lead to more cost-effective mining with less dilution. The brecciation of the limestones is interpreted to have occurred as result of karst dissolution and collapse of the limestones, possibly during the early stages of hydrothermal activity. The mineralization is focused within the hinge of a major anticline fold immediately adjacent to the Colquipucro Fault (see cross sections, Figure 2). A longitudinal section showing the geometry of the zinc mineralization along the northwest-southeast trend is shown in Figure 3. Photographs of the typical massive sulphide zinc mineralization and the semi-massive sulphide breccia mineralization at West Ayawilca is shown in Figure 4. South Ayawilca The highest-grade area of zinc mineralization at the project is located at South Ayawilca. Massive sulphide (MS) mineralization has been identified over an area (projected to surface) of approximately 400 metres by 200 metres elongated in a northeast-southwest direction (see Figures 1 and 3). Very high-grade massive sulphide zinc mineralization is focused in the hinge zone of an anticline fold structure. Drill results including cross sections from South Ayawilca can be reviewed in the following disclosures – see news release January 9th 2023; and news release March 6th 2023. Update on Exploration Activities at Ayawilca Tinka’s geologists have recently sampled manganese-altered outcrops at Ayawilca which are interpreted to be surface expressions of the Silver Zone discovery ( see news release May 2nd 2023). The results of this sampling, together with the final drill hole at South Ayawilca, will be announced as soon as assays become available and interpreted. Other news: Tinka recently received approval for the extension of the environmental permit (EIAsd) at Ayawilca for a period of three more years until May 2026. The modified and extended EIAsd has combined the two previous individual permits at Ayawilca and Colquipucro into one large permit which also incorporates several undrilled exploration targets as well as potential future mine components. The successful approval of the EIAsd is an important milestone for the project, as it will allow the Company to continue with its exploration and development plans into the medium term. Table 1. This hole intersected minor zinc and tin mineralization, which will be incorporated into the updated resource estimate. Note on sampling and assaying Drill holes are diamond HQ size core holes with recoveries generally above 80% and often close to 100%. The drill core is marked up, logged, and photographed on site. The cores are cut in half at the Company’s core storage facility, with half-cores stored as a future reference. Half-core was bagged on average over 1 to 2 metre composite intervals and sent to SGS laboratory in Lima for assay in batches. Standards and blanks were inserted by Tinka into each batch prior to departure from the core storage facilities. At the laboratory samples are dried, crushed to 100% passing 2mm, then 500 grams pulverized for multi-element analysis by ICPMS using multi-acid digestion. Samples assaying over 1% zinc, lead, or copper and over 100 g/t silver were re-assayed using precise ore-grade AAS techniques. Samples within massive sulphide zones were also assayed for tin using fusion and AAS finish. Figure 1. The 2022-23 drill program has considerably improved our understanding of the geology of the Ayawilca Zinc Zone and improved the confidence in the geometry of the mineralized bodies at West and South. Two of the most important conclusions from the drilling include: - At West Ayawilca, two pipe-like zinc sulphide bodies hosted by brecciated limestones extend through the 100- to 200-metre-thick limestone sequence along a northwest-southeast trend and are connected by massive sulphide mineralization at the base of the limestone;
- At South Ayawilca, very high-grade massive sulphide zinc mineralization is concentrated within a tightly folded limestone at relatively shallow depth - this discovery has the potential to be a ‘starter mine’ which could provide early payback of capital.
West Ayawilca The footprint of the zinc mineralization hosted by limestones at West Ayawilca covers an area of approximately 700 metres by 300 metres projected to surface (see Figure 1). Drilling in 2022-23 focused on defining the geometry of two pipe-like breccia bodies which host continuous, semi-massive sulphide (SMS) mineralization within the limestone. The breccia bodies have surface dimensions of between 100 to 200 metres and are elongated along a northwest-southeast direction. Zinc mineralization extends over a vertical thickness of between 100 to 150 metres through the entire brecciated limestone sequence up to the overlying sandstones. The breccia bodies are connected by massive sulphide (MS) zinc mineralization at the base of the limestone. Zinc sulphide (as sphalerite) is the dominant economic mineralization. Silver and lead (as silver sulphosalts and galena) is typically more common around the edges of the zinc bodies and in carbonate-rich veins. Iron sulphides are common including pyrite, marcasite, and pyrrhotite. Carbonate (siderite, an Fe-rich variety) is the dominant gangue mineral. The new interpretation of the geology at West Ayawilca is the result of a redesigned drill program in 2022-23 which targeted the northwest-southeast trend rather than the late-stage east-west trending veins which outcrop. All 13 holes at West Ayawilca in the 2022-23 program were drilled on an east-west orientation (mostly angled to the west) in contrast to previous holes which were mostly orientated north-south. The improvement in vertical continuity of the mineralization is positive for the project, as it will likely lead to more cost-effective mining with less dilution. The brecciation of the limestones is interpreted to have occurred as result of karst dissolution and collapse of the limestones, possibly during the early stages of hydrothermal activity. The mineralization is focused within the hinge of a major anticline fold immediately adjacent to the Colquipucro Fault (see cross sections, Figure 2). A longitudinal section showing the geometry of the zinc mineralization along the northwest-southeast trend is shown in Figure 3. Photographs of the typical massive sulphide zinc mineralization and the semi-massive sulphide breccia mineralization at West Ayawilca is shown in Figure 4. South Ayawilca The highest-grade area of zinc mineralization at the project is located at South Ayawilca. Massive sulphide (MS) mineralization has been identified over an area (projected to surface) of approximately 400 metres by 200 metres elongated in a northeast-southwest direction (see Figures 1 and 3). Very high-grade massive sulphide zinc mineralization is focused in the hinge zone of an anticline fold structure. Drill results including cross sections from South Ayawilca can be reviewed in the following disclosures – see news release January 9th 2023; and news release March 6th 2023. Update on Exploration Activities at Ayawilca Tinka’s geologists have recently sampled manganese-altered outcrops at Ayawilca which are interpreted to be surface expressions of the Silver Zone discovery ( see news release May 2nd 2023). The results of this sampling, together with the final drill hole at South Ayawilca, will be announced as soon as assays become available and interpreted. Other news: Tinka recently received approval for the extension of the environmental permit (EIAsd) at Ayawilca for a period of three more years until May 2026. The modified and extended EIAsd has combined the two previous individual permits at Ayawilca and Colquipucro into one large permit which also incorporates several undrilled exploration targets as well as potential future mine components. The successful approval of the EIAsd is an important milestone for the project, as it will allow the Company to continue with its exploration and development plans into the medium term. Table 1. Summary of drill hole results in this release https://preview.redd.it/zmx383q1p05b1.png?width=1675&format=png&auto=webp&s=209beffa5c7281d01aaab57ba2c032d34525bbc4 * Hole A23-219 at Central Ayawilca was primarily a hydrological hole drilled for the purposes of understanding the underground aquifer. This hole intersected minor zinc and tin mineralization, which will be incorporated into the updated resource estimate. Note on sampling and assaying Drill holes are diamond HQ size core holes with recoveries generally above 80% and often close to 100%. The drill core is marked up, logged, and photographed on site. The cores are cut in half at the Company’s core storage facility, with half-cores stored as a future reference. Half-core was bagged on average over 1 to 2 metre composite intervals and sent to SGS laboratory in Lima for assay in batches. Standards and blanks were inserted by Tinka into each batch prior to departure from the core storage facilities. At the laboratory samples are dried, crushed to 100% passing 2mm, then 500 grams pulverized for multi-element analysis by ICPMS using multi-acid digestion. Samples assaying over 1% zinc, lead, or copper and over 100 g/t silver were re-assayed using precise ore-grade AAS techniques. Samples within massive sulphide zones were also assayed for tin using fusion and AAS finish. Figure 1. 2023.06.09 18:12 ShoCoaching Support Roaming Guide
Hey there,
Today I want to talk about roaming on Support, as I've noticed a lot of players still struggle to understand
when they can leave lane and
where they should go. In theory this is not a difficult concept to apply, but unfortunately you need an
okay understanding of wavestates and champion identity, both yours and your enemies.
Just to earn some credibility right off the bat, I've reached Challenger in s10 on Mid and GM on Jungle and Support in s9, s11 and s12. I've also been coaching for 4 years now.
Lolpros of the s10 Challenger peak
To help Supports with roaming, I made a flowchart! It will make more sense after reading the whole post, but if this is too much for you, the flowchart should still help you with rotations:
The Flowchart Supports are useless on their own (unless you play mages like Zyra, Brand, Vel'Koz and got fed). Your abilities do nothing if there is no teammate around to follow up, whether it is CC or buffs. It's extremely important that you are always near team mates, that way they can utilize whatever tools you bring to the table. Therefore moving to the right place at the right time is obviously very important.
- How much should you roam?
A lot of people asked me about this before:
Should I roam a lot, or is it fine to stay in lane?" It's impossible to answer this question, because as with many things in League..
it depends. There are three things you should consider:
Is my champion good at roaming? This one is pretty obvious, the more CC and reliable engage you have, the better your champion will be at roaming. Simply, because once you arrive, enemies
will not want to fight you (because they are outnumbered), so stopping them from running away is vital. The less CC you have, the worse your roams are.
- Insane roamers: Leona Pyke Blitzcrank Alistar
- Okay roamers: Janna Karma Lux Rakan
- Bad roamers: Sona Soraka Milio
Do I want to play for botlane 2v2? Largely up to the ADC and matchup. If you play Draven Nautilus in a solid matchup, playing for bot makes more sense. This is how macro works, you decide where you will have the most influence, so if your Draven can get a lot out of Bot 2v2, playing for him will be more impactful.
This also works for synergizing champions like Twitch Lulu, Caitlyn Lux or Lucian Nami.
Something else you can consider once you get into Diamond + territory, is whether the enemy JungleMidlaner will actually let you play lane 2v2. If you play against Ahri Rek'sai and your own team plays Veigar Kayn, you are probably not laning 2v2 in the first place. That doesn't mean midlane roams will be more profitable, but walking to lane will have less value. Maybe you could walk to pixel first and get some vision or chunk the enemy midlaner, that way playing bot 2v2 will be easier.
Duos that want to play for lane:
- Kill lanes: Kalista Naut, Draven Pyke, Samira Rell
- Push lanes: Varus Zyra, Caitlyn Karma, MF Senna
If you are losing lane 2v2, doesn't matter if it's because of matchup or bad performance, playing for bot will also become less valuable.
Are my rotations actually going to be useful? Just because you don't want to play for bot 2v2, doesn't mean you can just make plays elsewhere. It depends on the enemy champions. A mobile mid or toplaner isn't going to be easy to gank. Especially if they don't want to engage into extended fights or all ins in the first place.
- Easy to gank: Viktor, Jayce, Sylas, Pantheon, Gangplank
- Hard to gank: Leblanc, Fizz, Akali, Gragas, Riven, Kennen
It also depends on your team mates setup and followup. Ganking those champions is definitely still possible, if you have a Lissandra to lock-down the Fizz or Leblanc.
How often you should roam has to be up to your estimate on how valuable your roam is going to be, compared to how valuable it would be to just stay bot and 2v2. Figure out whether you
generally want to play for bot 2v2. You can still roam in specific scenarios of course, playing for 2v2 just gives you more things to do on lane, which is why roaming is less often the play that is more valuable to your team.
You roam, whenever you are going to get more for that roam, than you will lose on bot. Keep in mind, every time you leave bot, your ADC will lose
something in return. Or the enemy ADC gains something that they would lose if you were bot. Maybe it's just 2-3 minions, but maybe it's a missed opportunity to dive 2v1 and take 3 platings.
Here is a list of things you can do on botlane to play for large 2v2 advantages, either with or without your Jungler:
- Freeze -> Zone/Fight/Gank
- Slowpush -> Dive
- Crash -> Dragon
- Cheese 2v2
- Push -> Harass -> Platings
You can also play for experience, if you are a useless enchanter or rely a lot on your level 6.
If you can't do anything like that because you are losing 2v2, the enemies are just too safe or you will be 2v3 in lane, you also gotta check if
the enemies might be able to to one of them.
This is when you
have to be bot. When the enemy botlane is about to:
- Freeze [Help your ADC crash the wave]
- Dive [Cover your ADC or they lose a lot]
In the other three scenarios, it's usually/sometimes fine to roam.
First Herald is an incredibly impactful objective, so it's almost always the best play to rotate to secure it. Just make sure your ADC doesn't get completely destroyed.
If you do not want to play for 2v2 and your ADC isn't about to get dived or frozen on, you should roam. I know these are a lot of
ifs, but this actually happens more often than you'd think. Your ADC runs it down two times and the enemy botlane is playing Soraka? They won't dive, so if there is no freeze, run as far from your ADC as you can.
In lower elos people rarely dive or freeze as well, so less scenarios in which your ADC absolutely needs you. That being said, if you are incredible at laning... maybe you will get more out of the 2v2.
You decide!
I already talked about this a little bit, where ever you think you will get the most stuff done. If you've read all the way until here, I think using the flowchart that I mentioned in the beginning will already help you a lot.
If you know you do not need/want to play bot, moving towards the Junglers side is usually the best play. Making a play without your Jungler will often result in a 2v2 against the enemy Jungler and you really want to
avoid that. Moving to your Junglers side of the river, allows you to decide what you want to play for.
Often, it's impossible to predict when you start your roam, where a play is going to happen that you can follow up. And an important reminder at this point:
You are a Support. Support people. It doesn't matter if you play Pyke or Leona, or if you play Yuumi. Alone you are useless and forcing your teammates into plays that they don't want to do, usually results in them misplaying and getting tilted. Look at what your team wants to do and
support them.
...
As you can see, I can talk about the smallest League of Legends topic for hours. There is more to say, but I believe the post is long enough and it already contains more than enough information for most of you.
If you still want to learn more about League, I have a
Youtube channel that you can check out. I am about to go fulltime on content creation, so any new subscribers are very welcome!
TLDR; Roam whenever you can get less value out of Bot than you could get somewhere else. This is influenced by bot matchup, wavestates and how likely the roam is to work.

2023.06.09 18:01 Bill1852 Why Ron DeSantis fails
| A formulaic campaign for relevance A Commentary - Bill Lane 📷 June 9, 2023 – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been busy signing bills into law that a majority of Americans oppose. The bills he has signed are expected to demonstrate to the nation how we do it here in Florida. Mr. DeSantis has also just recently announced his run for the presidency and with it his intentions to take on the big dog – Donald Trump. By tailoring culture war bills to a larger audience, the governor intends to show that he alone among the 2024 contenders “walks the walk”, as well as “talks the talk”. One might add that Ron has plenty of cattle to go along with that hat. Meatball Ron Florida is ranked third in population nationwide, behind #1 California and #2 Texas, so as a major player the state is overdue to elevate a homegrown politician to America’s highest office. Yes, there is Trump, but he moved to Florida after having become President and having been a lifelong resident of New York. Ron DeSantis, born and raised in Jacksonville, is an authentic Floridian and seems to have donors big enough to designate him as an heir-apparent to Trump. Still, there are no signs that he has made any progress in weakening Trump’s death-like grip on the Republican Party, that he enforces through his well-practiced business model of flatter, bully and sue. The short list of bills signed by the governor who promised that Florida is where “woke’ goes to die. · Six-week abortion ban · “Don’t Say Gay,” extended through 12th grade · Pronouns – it’s complicated, must adhere to designated gender at birth · Death penalty – “Hang ’em High” Eliminating unanimous jury decisions · Concealed carry without permit. Florida the new Texas · DEI – bans diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in state colleges. · CRT – bans critical race theory in state colleges As Governor, Ron DeSantis has a unique combination of powers that even the pugilist President Trump did not have. The Florida Governor has a rubber-stamp state congress that are willing to draft the kind of laws that DeSantis wants in creating a national persona. He also has the ability to enforce the laws, and more importantly, his will, on state colleges and universities, as well as troublesome DA’s. What DeSantis didn’t seem to understand is that there are fights that you cannot win, regardless of title. The crowd of activists with roots in the 60’s tried to have “under God” removed from the Pledge of Allegiance. What they didn’t understand is that you cannot win a fight against God, as evident by the Resurrection. Having conquered the state government, as well as the colleges and universities and having won reelection by almost 20 points, DeSantis was politically untouchable. And yet there were powerful Florida corporations still aligned with the “Woke” segment of society. The inevitable shootout with Disney would propel the name brand throughout the country. And in keeping with the political realities of “Trumpism” it didn’t matter if the press was good or bad, so long as you got it. So, he came out swinging. The fight against Disney has boosted his stature with that part of the electorate who want to move away from Trump but retain a Trump-like figure. DeSantis can jerk Disney around, mess with their business model and frustrate them with onerous regulations. But in the end DeSantis cannot win against the cultural icons of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. And yet he continues to gamble his future on the bet that he can indeed silence his critics through brute force if necessary. “Salaca doo la menthicka boo la bibbidi-bobbidi-boo, Put ‘em together and what have you got? bibbidi-bobbidi, bibbidi-bobbidi, bibbidi-bobbidi-boo” Whatever else DeSantis does, he remains in the unenviable position of having picked a fight with an opponent he can neither beat nor silence. Disney, ever protective of its public image, has retaliated by cancelling a $Billion project scheduled for the Lake Nona area. The firm has nothing to apologize for and if the dispute is not settled amicably, could inflict serious harm on the Central Florida economy. DeSantis, whom Trump has called “Meatball Ron” risks blowing a hole in the Central Florida economy. Regardless of the outcome of the Disney fight, DeSantis will likely fail for two reasons: 1. His target audience is limited to Trump voters with little room for growth and 2. He has become a victim of the cultural clash he hoped would work to his advantage. Here’s why. Florida recently revised the criteria of the “Don’t Say Gay” law to include grades K through 12. Shortly thereafter a teacher in Hernando County showed the animated Disney film “Strange World” to her class of 5th grade students. The film contains an openly gay character, which appears to violate the gag rule in Florida law. The teacher was reported by a parent, who has the option to sue, under Florida law. As could be expected, this ignited a news event and an investigation by the State Department of Education. The point of it all is that openly gay people are a part of modern life, a fact that DeSantis is missing, using the appeal of rolling back progress in the LGBTQ community as a presidential campaign weapon. Perhaps “Meatball Ron” is an appropriate nickname for this “back-to-the-future” style leader. submitted by Bill1852 to u/Bill1852 [link] [comments] |

2023.06.09 17:56 Anathemachiavellian How to extend naps past 30 minutes 7mo
My 7 month old has had a routine since 6 months and I thought her naps may naturally get better but that hasn’t happened. She sleeps 7-7 okay-ish (sometimes waking at 7.45am if she woke up a bit more in the night). She was waking one or twice a night but we’re currently up to 5-7 short wake ups as she’s teething.
Anyway the main crux of my question is there ANYTHING I can do to extend her naps? Her routine is wake at 7, first nap at 8.30am, second at 12pm and third at 3.30pm. She generally goes down independently fairly easily. The room is pitch black. We play white noise. The temperature is about 20c and she is appropriately dressed. We’ve had this routine for over a month and still 99% of naps are 30 minutes. Maybe once or twice a week a nap will randomly be 1.5hrs for no reason. She’s so tired in the day, and she just spends most of her awake time yawning and rubbing her face. I started with a longer gap after her wake up but she really struggled staying awake more than 1.5 hours. Any help greatly appreciated.

2023.06.09 17:55 willowblush Travel 30/31 weeks without insurance extending to a potential premie
My husband and I are planning a trip back to his home country this summer when I’ll be 30 and 31 weeks. My insurance of course will cover me in the event of a premature birth, but since this is within 9 weeks of my due date, I cannot get coverage for my unborn baby. This means that if I go into labour, I’ll be covered but my baby born at 30/31 weeks won’t be and they’ll need NICU for several weeks.
I’m not concerned about ME giving birth down there - there’s excellent hospitals and NICUs, and we’re staying comfortably with his family. I am concerned about now having insurance extend to my little one. That’s a lot out of pocket if something goes wrong.
If it matters, the travel isn’t bad. Heading down there we take 2x 3-3.5 hour flights which is broken up by an overnight. Returning back to Canada there’s no overnight hotel stay.
Would you travel without insurance extending to a potential new born?
