It outlines the high level strategy you need to use to MAXIMIZE sales for BFCM. I go over everything from how to map out your promo calendar… what emails to send when… exactly when you should START and FINISH your promo(s)… and, most importantly… … how to STAND OUT and grab attention in an overcrowded inbox, so you can break every sales record. Once you watch this mini-course, you’re going to be pumping out high-converting BFCM campaigns in no time! Course #2 Make It Rain Monthly BFCM/Q4 Planning Call This is a special “members-only” coaching call I recorded with a handful of my top students to help them prepare their clients’ brands for BFCM success. I even critique (and edit) a few of my students’ BFCM emails during this call. You can look over my shoulder and see how I think about constructing these email campaigns and sequences – super valuable! Course #3 Make It Rain Monthly Issue #8 The Black Friday / Cyber MondayMEGA Issue Part 1 - My “A-Z” roadmap for creating highly profitable Cyber Week email marketing campaigns.
- The FIRST email you should send in the month of November, to increase the sales you make from every email you send for the next six weeks (I actually wrote this email for you. You can swipe it verbatim. Just swap in some small details about your business, hit send, and watch the sales start rolling in.)
- How to map out a three-month promotional calendar in less than 60 minutes. (Plus, how to come up with the topics to send, on which days, to the right subscribers.)
- What to do (instead of just giving a discount or giving a bonus) that’ll incite a buying frenzy, generate word of mouth buzz, create raving fans, AND could possibly lead to record-breaking sales.
- A breakdown of a collection of BFCM emails, including some from a sequence that brought in six-figures in one week flat.
Course #4 Make It Rain Monthly Issue #9 The Black Friday / Cyber MondayMEGA Issue Part 2 - The “Magic Box” Method I used to free up 25 hours of creative time on my calendar, so I could get more work done in less time, with less stress… and more time to myself.
- The biggest mistake I made as I began growing my team… and how I fixed it so everyone could perform at a higher, more autonomous level.
- How to finally get clear on what you want in life… and how to go get it.
- Why trying to be a ‘cool boss’ might hurt your team more than help it.
- One psychological insight that’ll make selling to ‘people with money’ 10x easier. This works especially well if you’re selling a high-end product/high-ticket service.
- One software that can cut your weekly call volume down by 70% (or more).
- The “AC” email promotion that’ll send your Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales through the roof.
- How to scoop up TONS of sales from people who didn’t buy from your BF/CM campaign.
- Why giving a discount might actually HURT your sales and turn off a large percentage of your customers.
- When to use a discount vs other types of offers in your emails (they both work and can both be used strategically… but you’ve gotta do this right.)
- How to instantly induce an “I’ve gotta spend money with this brand” feeling in your customers… even if they weren’t planning on buying anything five minutes before seeing your email.
- A breakdown of a six-figure BF/CM email campaign (meaning: we actually ran this for one of my e-commerce clients and generated six-figures in sales with it).
- A two-word subject line you can use on Black Friday to stick out like a sore thumb and get your subscribers’ attention… even when everyone else is screaming about their sales.
- The one type of campaign you should run if you feel like offering discounts ‘cheapens’ your brand.
- How to adapt this campaign for OTHER holidays throughout the year (like Mother’s Day & Father’s Day). I even riffed off a quick email hook you can keep in your back pocket until spring.
Course #5 Make It Rain Monthly Issue #20 The Black Friday / Cyber Monday2021 Gameplan - The SMS Sign Up Sequence that helped us grow an SMS list by 1,000+ subscribers while generating $10,000+ in sales.
- How to make a TON of sales on Thanksgiving… without pissing off everyone on your list. (In fact, people will be giddy with anticipation if you do this promo right.)
- A psychological trigger you can use in your copy that makes your customers go crazy for your products.
- Why BFCM21 is going to look very different than years past… and the changes you should make to your strategy to stand out in the inbox (and make a ton of sales).

- Will SMS marketing replace or kill email? My surprising answer on page 3.
- How to dramatically increase your EHR (effective hourly rate)… so you can increase profits while working less.
- Insights from an SMS campaign I ran back in 2017 that worked incredibly well… and got people asking us to send them MORE texts (it’s a cool approach you can adapt for your own brand).
- How to write headlines and subject lines that trigger INSTANT curiosity… that suck your prospects in and DEMAND attention. (Try this with your landing pages and advertorial pages and watch your click-thrus SKYROCKET)
- The #1 copy mistake I see most copywriters and brand owners make with ALL of their emails, landing pages, ads, video scripts, and more.
- Fix this one thing and you’ll be amazed at how much better your copy reads and converts.
- How to get your customers to ‘think past the sale’ and get emotionally attached to your product… so they feel compelled to buy. (Sneaky… but powerful. And yes, totally ethical.)
- 6 SMS messages that ‘primed the pump’ for our sales pitches… while making our customers feel a rush of positive thoughts and emotions.
- The secret to writing tighter, pithier copy.
- 3 copy principles for high converting SMS messages.

- 5 more SMS list building examples that can get you a TON of new subscribers while making lots of “easy sales” in the process.
- How to use email to ‘scoop up’ buckets of new buyers… even the people who DON’T buy from you.
- Are you scared of emailing too often? Check out the tip on page 22 that’ll reduce your complaints and increase your sales.
- The four core campaigns EVERY brand should be running on a monthly basis… even if you’re not in e-com. (I use this with my own list and it works incredibly well.)
Course #6 Holiday Sale Super Sequence Want to scoop up even MORE sales during the holidays (without the hassle of figuring out your promo calendar)? This Holiday Sale Super Sequence is based on campaigns I still run for my agency clients that generate anywhere between $30-$50K — without fail. Comes with SIX email templates, a quick-start implementation video and super secret bonus. So if you want to generate massive sales easily every time there’s a holiday… then this training is going to help you make that happen. 2023.06.09 19:54 Am_2202 Series to buy during current sale
I’m having a hard time deciding what to get. I put 50 books in my cart and feel like it’s way too much. Didn’t include anything that was more than $9 to make it worth it vs buying with credits.
This is what I’m considering rn: - Spells, Swords & Stealth - Red Rising - Percy Jackson (they are $8-9 each so not sure) - Thorne of Glass (unsure as a few are around $8 and the last few in the series are $4 each) - I think I read they were NYT best sellers - Court of Thorns and Roses (unsure but they are $2-3 each) - Skyward series - Fred the Vampire accountant (I only put the first 3 in my cart, idk if I should get them)
Are there other series that are worth it and have really good discounts? Have you read any of the above and thought they were bad?
For reference I enjoyed Harry Potter, Super Powereds, Hunger Games, Game of Thrones, Shadow and Bone, Daevabad Trilogy, A darker Shade of Magic. I also enjoy some sci fi like Artemis and historical fiction like Hidden Figures, things set in different cultures like Jaipur trilogy or Next Year in Havana.

2023.06.09 19:46 Jdelerson Jerry Garcia Werewolf Short Story
The moon hung low in the ink-black sky, casting an eerie glow over the sprawling forest. The night was alive with unseen creatures, their presence felt in the rustling leaves and distant howls. It was in this desolate wilderness that the legend of Jerry Garcia, the musical werewolf, began to unfold.
In the summer of 1995, Jerry Garcia, the frontman of the iconic band Grateful Dead, was found dead in his sleep. The world mourned the loss of a musical legend, but little did they know that Jerry's fate had taken a most peculiar turn. Instead of meeting his demise, he had transformed into a creature of the night, bound to roam the earth for eternity.
Jerry's transformation was far from ordinary. Every full moon, when the moon reached its zenith, he would undergo a metamorphosis, becoming a fearsome werewolf with a supernatural musical prowess. His unearthly howls reverberated through the forest, creating a melody that chilled the bones of anyone unfortunate enough to hear it.
As the years rolled on, the legend of Jerry Garcia, the musical werewolf, spread like wildfire. People spoke of his haunting presence, warning others to avoid the moonlit woods during the full moon. But there were those who sought to uncover the truth, to witness the spectacle firsthand.
One such brave soul was Alex, a die-hard fan of the Grateful Dead and a self-proclaimed adventurer. Fascinated by the tales, he embarked on a quest to capture the enigma that was Jerry Garcia. Armed with a silver-tipped bullet soaked in LSD, the only known way to end the musical werewolf's cursed existence, Alex ventured deep into the heart of the forest.
As the full moon reached its zenith, casting an ethereal glow over the ancient trees, Alex prepared for the encounter. He knew the dangers that awaited him, but his determination outweighed his fear. With each step, the forest grew darker, and the air became heavy with anticipation.
Finally, he found himself in a small clearing, a place whispered about in hushed tones. The legends spoke of an ancient rock formation, said to be the epicenter of Jerry Garcia's power. Standing before the towering rocks, Alex felt a shiver crawl down his spine.
The sound of footsteps echoed through the silence. Alex spun around, only to be met with the glowing, golden eyes of the musical werewolf. Jerry Garcia, in his lupine form, stood before him, a monstrous embodiment of music and darkness.
Alex raised his weapon, aiming for Jerry's heart. But the werewolf, sensing the threat, unleashed a thunderous howl that sent tremors through the ground. The forest seemed to come alive, its trees twisting and contorting as if in pain. The very air vibrated with a haunting symphony.
Fueled by his love for the Grateful Dead, Alex fought against the enchanting melody that threatened to consume his mind. He steadied his trembling hands, took aim, and fired the LSD-soaked bullet towards Jerry's heart.
The moment the bullet pierced the werewolf's chest, a cacophony of sound erupted. It was a clash of joyous music and agonizing pain, a symphony that echoed through the trees. Jerry Garcia, the musical werewolf, let out a final, mournful howl before collapsing to the ground, lifeless.
As the echoes of the music subsided, the forest returned to its former stillness. Alex stood in the clearing, his heart pounding with a mix of triumph and sorrow. He had witnessed the end of an era, the final chapter in the twisted tale of Jerry Garcia.
Word of Alex's encounter spread, and the legend of the musical werewolf slowly faded into obscurity. Some dismissed it as
a mere myth, a figment of collective imagination. But there were those who believed, who carried the weight of that encounter in their hearts.
Years passed, and Alex's tale became a whispered legend, shared among the most devoted fans of the Grateful Dead. Some sought to retrace his steps, venturing into the moonlit woods, hoping to catch a glimpse of the ethereal presence that was Jerry Garcia.
Among those seekers was Emma, a young woman whose soul was steeped in the melodies and lyrics of the Grateful Dead. The stories of Jerry Garcia's transformation had ignited a flame of curiosity within her, and she yearned to experience the haunting beauty of his music, even at the risk of encountering the musical werewolf.
On a balmy summer night, when the moon was full and radiant, Emma embarked on her pilgrimage. Armed with a relic passed down from her father, a guitar pick said to have been touched by Jerry Garcia himself, she ventured into the heart of the forest.
Emma followed the path carved by the echoes of the past. The moonlight bathed the surroundings in an otherworldly glow, casting long, ghostly shadows on the ground. She felt a presence, an ethereal energy guiding her deeper into the wilderness.
At last, she arrived at the sacred clearing, the very place where Alex had faced Jerry Garcia, the musical werewolf. The rocks stood tall and imposing, a silent testament to the legends that had brought her here.
A haunting melody floated on the air, carried by a gentle breeze. Emma's heart quickened, recognizing the familiar strains of the Grateful Dead's music. It was as if the forest itself had become an orchestra, playing a symphony in honor of the fallen legend.
In the midst of the symphony, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was Jerry Garcia, no longer a werewolf but a spectral presence, his form shimmering with a soft luminescence. His eyes held a mixture of sadness and longing.
Emma approached with reverence, clutching the guitar pick in her hand. She spoke words of gratitude and admiration, her voice carrying the weight of every Grateful Dead fan who had ever danced to their music. She asked Jerry to share his essence, his music, one last time.
In response, Jerry Garcia strummed an invisible guitar, his fingers moving with ethereal grace. The sound that emanated from his ghostly form transcended the earthly realm, reaching depths unknown. It was a song of joy, pain, and everything in between—a bittersweet symphony that encapsulated the essence of the Grateful Dead.
Emma closed her eyes and let the music wash over her, filling her soul with a profound sense of connection. She danced, twirling amidst the moonbeams, feeling the energy of Jerry's music reverberate through her every fiber.
As the song reached its crescendo, a tear escaped Emma's eye. She knew that this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, a communion with a musical deity. With a final strum of his spectral guitar, Jerry Garcia faded away, leaving Emma standing in the clearing, her heart overflowing with a sense of fulfillment.
From that day forward, Emma became the guardian of Jerry Garcia's legacy. She shared her encounter with others, keeping the memory alive for future generations. She spoke of the musical werewolf and the bittersweet symphony that could only be experienced under the light of a full moon.
The legend of Jerry Garcia, the musical werewolf, would forever be etched in the annals of musical folklore. And those who dared to venture into the moonlit woods would carry the essence of his music within them, an eternal connection to a soul who had touched the hearts of millions.
In the realm where myth and reality In the realm where myth and reality intertwine, Jerry Garcia's spirit continued to resonate through the fabric of time. His music lived on, a testament to the power of creativity, unity, and the ability to transcend mortal limitations.
Emma, now a revered storyteller, traveled far and wide, sharing her encounter with the musical werewolf. She became a beacon for those seeking a connection to something greater than themselves, using her voice to spread the message of love, peace, and the transformative power of music.
Through her words, countless souls found solace, inspiration, and a renewed sense of purpose. The spirit of Jerry Garcia resonated within each note they played, carrying the message of harmony and the freedom to explore the depths of one's creativity.
As the years passed, a new generation of musicians emerged, drawing inspiration from the ethereal presence of Jerry Garcia. They crafted melodies that echoed the essence of his music, forming a bridge between past and present, honoring the legacy of the musical werewolf.
The forest that had witnessed the birth and demise of Jerry Garcia, the heart of his werewolf transformation, became a sacred place. People from all walks of life gathered there, their voices blending harmoniously with the whispers of nature. Together, they celebrated the indelible mark left by the legendary musician.
In this mystical space, on the night of a full moon, a grand concert took place. Musicians, fans, and curious souls came together, carrying the torch of Jerry's spirit. The music that filled the air was a symphony of gratitude, a joyful lamentation that resonated deep within the hearts of those present.
And as the final notes faded into the night, a sense of fulfillment embraced all who were fortunate enough to bear witness. The story of Jerry Garcia, the musical werewolf, had come full circle, leaving a lasting imprint on the tapestry of human experience.
Though Jerry's physical form may have been lost to the world, his essence remained alive in the hearts of the devoted. His music continued to inspire, uplift, and ignite the flame of creativity. The legend of Jerry Garcia, the musical werewolf, transcended mortality, etching its name in the annals of time.
And so, on every full moon, when the moon reached its zenith, the echoes of Jerry's music could still be heard, carried by the wind through the moonlit woods. Those who listened closely, with open hearts and a yearning for something greater, would find themselves enveloped in the timeless embrace of the musical werewolf, forever touched by the magic of Jerry Garcia.

2023.06.09 19:44 Cpt_Dizzywhiskers Mr & Mrs Fulco: Some recurring NPCs
This is something I didn't get a chance to fully incorporate into my last campaign, so I thought I'd stick the unused ideas up here to prevent them driving me nuts.
Basic premise Mr & Mrs Fulco are a pleasant elderly couple of whatever race you like who have decided to devote their last years together to travel/sightseeing/tourism. However, their insistance on saving every penny possible via magic they have no idea how to use leads to the party regularly encountering them stuck in some situation they need rescuing from.
(It's important to note that the couple are more than wealthy enough to pay their way, they just stubbornly insist that it's just good financial sense not to spend money unless absolutely necessary. Often their schemes are counterproductive or needlessly convoluted, but it's the
principle of the thing, you see.)
Encounters My party first encountered the Fulcos on the ship taking them to the city where the campaign was set. I'd ripped off
The Oblong Box by having the superstitious crew convinced that a recent series of accidents was due to there being a corpse on board, with suspicion falling on Mr Fulco and the large sealed box he kept in his cabin. Party investigated, found Mrs Fulco dead inside. Mr Fulco frantically explained that this was their way of only buying one ticket on ocean voyages- they would take turns being smuggled aboard ship dead, then pay for a resurrection spell at the destination. Party had to choose between appeasing the ship's crew by tossing the dead woman overboard, or keeping the couple's secret. (If they toss her overboard, Mr Fulco jumps in after her and washes up at the end destination, still clinging to the box with his dead wife inside).
Some other ways I'd planned to have the couple show up as the party travelled around, not all of which I wound up managing to fit in:
* The Fulco's plan had been to use a levitate spell to get Mr Fulco up to their hotel room window without him having to pay. But as they bought the levitate scroll on the cheap from a bloke at the docks, the spell didn't wear off and Mrs Fulco last saw her husband drifting eastward over the city towards the mountains.
* Their plan was to sneak Mr Fulco into the theatre by mixing their own shrinking potion in their hotel bathtub and concealing him in his wife's handbag. Sadly Mrs Fulco's handbag was snatched by a thief on the way to the theatre. Party must find thieves, the bag, and the tiny man within. (The homemade nature of the potion can be used to explain why it doesn't simply wear off after one minute, and also why he shrinks by more than 1/2 his original size.)
* Mr Fulco approaches the party holding a wooden parrot, a distressed look on his face. They bought a polymorph amulet from a travelling merchant who seemed so trustworthy, hoping to enter an event with Mrs Fulco posing as an exotic pet. Instead when she put it on, she turned into a solid piece of wood shaped like a parrot and none of the mages in town seem able to remove the effect. Party must track down the travelling merchant to find out what the nature of the amulet actually is.
* A drunken sorcerer in a tavern convinced Mr Fulco that any idiot was capable of learning the spell Blink, and went on to provide a more or less coherant tutorial in between mouthfuls of rum. But when Mr Fulco tried to use it to get into an art gallery without paying he failed to un-blink, and now somebody needs to head into the Ethereal Plane to find him (assuming the Ethereal Plane is where he ended up of course...)
There's probably tons more you could come up with, but those were the ones I decided to stick with. I played the couple as friendly but eccentric, and endearing proud of their own demented schemes to save an insignificant amount of money, which helped with making the players want to help them out. If your party don't take to them, you can always use the fact that the couple are wealthy to let the party negotiate for enough a reward to get them interested.
Oh, and if anyone asks why they don't just use boring invisibility spells, it's because they aren't as young as they used to be and don't have the energy to spend all day trying to avoid bumping into people :p

2023.06.09 19:43 Ok_Major_3123 All in one grow bag? (Beginner)
I purchased an all in one grow bag from mushroom supplies and ordered some liquid culture as well. I've always liked magic mushrooms and finally decided to try and grow some myself. I watched a few YouTube videos and it seemed pretty self explanatory, so I thought... I inaculated the bag on 3/20 and put the bag in a closet to keep from light. After checking a couple weeks later I saw very little mycelium growth around the port but expected a little more than that. After a few more weeks I I checked again and still not much growth so I mixed the bag up a bit to see if that was the reason why or maybe problems with the liquid culture but couldn't figure out why it was barely growing. 2 months in I figured it was maybe the temperature in my apartment even though it was in a closet, so I put it outside in another room where the water heater is since there was definitely more heat. I did get a tiny hole in the bag from trying to help it breathe just fyi, after a week in there I saw a lot more growth and a lot of moisture in the bag walls. It was also hard to tell if I had contamination or mycelium growth but my bag never got fully covered in mycelium, just the middle mainly so I broke that up hoping that wouod help but it's just taken way too long since inaculation and very little growth over that time I'm assuming I messed up along the way. Did keeping it in a closet in a room that was usually 70 degrees slow down the growth? And what do y'all recommend I do differently as a beginner grower? I'm just trying to have a nice personal grow going, nothing too crazy. Different companies or method? Any feedback would be great!

2023.06.09 19:39 Onslaught_Dom Angel Run - Party Composition
Currently in the middle of Act IV with my Wizard Lich Playthrough on Core, now that I can fore my way out of any boss with Corrupt Magic, Exsanguinate and Feast of Blood it kind of became a bit easy.
However my experience with Act IV is a bit of a chore because of the way navigation and backtracking works, so I'm thinking about the next playthrough as a Good character, which sould be a Mounted Paladin Angel, if I'm being sadistic I may even play on Hard.
So... thinking about party composition, I was thinking about going with:
- Seelah (Mounted Paladin), for more Smite & Mark of Justice and pure goodness
- Sosiel (Mounted Cleric), for short term buffs for bosses and such (Domain Zealot)
- Nenio (Wizard/Loremaster), for support, arcane buffs and illusion debuffs
- Lann (Divine Hound)... for +1 Pet, not certain if follow the mounted archer path or just sniper
- Arue (Expert Esp)... start with Ember (Hexes) and then switchto her
In my Lich run, Delamere is a ridiculous damage dealer... in her round stuff just explode, even more than other characters, so I think maybe having 2 ranged snipers may be interesting
Do you guys think this is viable? Tips? Something I'm missing?

2023.06.09 19:37 homeSICKsinner What caused the beginning? What's outside of everything? Who created God? Self causation is the only way.
First assumption, the supernatural isn't real, everything has an explanation. Our ability to explain anything depends upon cause and effect, this happened because of that, that came into existence because of this. So everything exists because it was caused by something else, an external cause because an internal cause would imply that the thing being caused into existence already exists. But this leads to infinite regression, which doesn't work. Because that would mean that the past is eternal and that reality and time always existed without cause. The other reason the past cannot be eternal is because if point A was infinitely far away from point B then point B would never occur. How can this moment in time right now be occuring if a infinite amount of time had to elapse first? It can't, so there must be a beginning. But then why are we compelled to ask what caused the beginning? Because we know magic isn't real. The beginning can't just occur without being caused. Again this would be supernatural. So both options is supernatural, a beginning occuring without cause is supernatural, and reality having an eternal past is supernatural. There must be a solution to this problem without relying on the irrational to explain how we got here. Let's think about it another way.
Everything is just one thing, reality. Reality needs to be caused in order to exist. Nothing can't cause reality. That would require nothing to do something, which it can't because nothing can only do nothing. There is only one viable option. In order for reality to exist, reality must cause itself to exist. But that would require reality to exist prior to it's own existence. That might sound impossible, but it's only impossible if time is linear. If time is circular then the future can come before the beginning which would allow the beginning to be caused by the future. It works like this A causes B, B causes C, C causes D and A. Let's rewind it backwards. What caused D? C did. What caused C? B and then A caused B. And what caused A the very beginning? C did. You can rewind the past over and over and you're always going to repeat this loop of C B A over and over. It's infinite regression but it's not linear infinite regression, it's circular infinite regression. Circular infinite regression allows you to always have a previous cause without needing a infinitely long chain of causation. What this means is that if you were to travel backwards in time passed the beginning you would end up in some point in the future when everything was created which would be the same future you would have ended up in if you continued to travel forward in time.
So how does this work physically? Because remember I said everything needs an external cause in order to exist. This universe we're in couldn't exist unless something outside it caused it to exist. And then something outside that would have to cause that in order for that to exist and so and so forth. So if reality caused itself to exist does this mean that reality must exist both outside itself and prior to itself in order for it to exist? Yeah. So let's say reality is a multiverse, a series of a few universes, each universe being caused by the one outside it. So what caused the outermost universe? It would be the innermost universe. The inner most universe, the last universe to be created is also outside the first and outermost universe. So if you were to exit the outer most universe you would just end up back at the center of everything.
So it's all one big paradox. The future is before the beginning. The smallest universe is outside the biggest universe. The original cause of everything is really just an effect of the original cause. We have a beginning but at the same time the past is eternal.
You might wonder where is God in all this. Well I'm a christian pantheist. I believe reality is God and that God created himself. In order for reality to create itself and everything in it, such as life on earth, it would have to be conscious, because creation is a conscious action. I have other reasons for believing God is reality but maybe I'll save that for another post.

2023.06.09 19:36 queenofthescreen [Thank You] Heavenly Homemade Honeys @ u/KatDuq (Goddess of Glamour, Generosity, & Gorgeous Creativity)
This is LOVE!
https://imgur.com/a/Pe0Mj8j u/KatDuq x 6 A wordy girl was rendered speechless. Stunned. Stupified. AGHAST at your terrific talent! And although the most commonly used definition of “aghast” is “filled with sudden fright or horror”, I mean “aghast” as in “struck with overwhelming shock or amazement”. You took my breath away with the most magnificent, majestic, seriously King Charles royal mail I have ever seen or received. Words will fail to describe what you did for me with this beaming beauty! Oddly, I received it just a few days ago - international mail typically finds me late (the birthday horoscope mail I actually received ages ago, but it was held hostage in some fabulously fun family drama that I just described in a meta post).
May as well thank you here for the lovely birthday horoscope card here - thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was giddy to see how much you had written in this card. That takes a lot of love - how much you cared about enlightening me was so very evident! What was super cool is that your resource is so in-depth & didn’t churn out the generic birthday horoscope stuff I’ve seen in the past (because I find this topic super interesting). I really loved the insights & inspiration you gave me to accept multiple goals. Because I do find myself distracted by varying goals & you comforted me so much in explaining that it’s totally fine to have them all. Your card inspired me to embrace the crazy challenges in my life & to learn from them - you gave me a new sense of strength to cope with challenges - thank you so much!!! Thank you also for the precious parakeet birthday wishes mini card!!
BACK TO THE NEW LOVE OF MY PRETTY PAPER-OBSESSED LIFE ;)
So when I received this ethereal gift from a creative goddess, I had no idea what was in it but just the *envelope* was so pretty I had to go wash my hands LOL! And I had just washed them minutes prior. The soothing blue color of the envelope & the adorable happy mail themed washi tape gave me such a sense of calm & tranquility. And then when I opened it - I had no idea what to expect as I had forgotten about my request. But I totally FLIPPED over this otherworldly gift!!!! I hesitate to call it a “junk journal envelope” because it is so charmingly celestial & the absolute opposite of junk. So what do YOU call it, my fancy friend?
Everything about it is an absolutely amazing fancy feast for the eyes. And I was incredibly sad because of the drama I mentioned so I can’t even fully express what you did for me with your terrifically thoughtful gift on the day I received it. I have actually tinkered around with some informal junk journal creations at library classes (using manilla envelopes), but the merry **majestic*** (I have to use this word again, because it’s so royal & regal) magic you unleashed elevated the art journaling game to another level. As a mere amateur, I was so creatively inspired by you & your talent! I have so much to learn. And you taught me that aiming for elegance & class takes time, thought, & lots of reflection. I’m warning you in advance - my future mail to you will NOT be worthy of you hahaha but I’ll want to send some basic, humble sunshine your way asap! ;)
Everything about this sweetie just radiates fanciful flowers & sweet sunshine! It was incredible to me how even though I’ve never had the pleasure of speaking to you or meeting you, the core of your sugary essence came through with this one envelope. Your generosity, your thoughtfulness, your incredible kindness, your attention to detail, your infinite creativity, your intelligence/emotional IQ, your inquisitive & adventurous nature, your extraordinary elegance, exquisite tastes for the fabulously fancy n’ fine, what a glamorous creature you are, & your heavenly heart! Somehow, you even exuded compassion without knowing anything about me - does that even make sense? I can’t even articulate what this mail did for me as a beautiful balm to heal the silly worldly wounds of my heart.
When I opened the creation, I just stared at it for ages before basking in the hidden gems. Just looking at it made me feel so special. And I felt like it was too beautiful, too perfectly pretty to touch hahaha! I was floored by so many aspects of your charming craft architecture!!!! How you blended both the modern & the classic; your royal choice in soothing color schemes (the lilac, sea green, baby blue, classic white, varying shades of the prettiest pinks, etc. - WOW this is such a gorgeous color combo!!!); the lush lace; the wonderful word-riddled background paper; the perfect placement of the lovely scrapbooking paper dancing with so many creative elements on the cover; your flippin’ fancy taste in ephemera - everything was just WOW!!!! I find it hard to believe I will ever again see anything so fine & fancy in my life LOL! I also loved how you blended the use of so many nifty paper goodies like the classic stickers, modern stickers, gorgeous memo sheets & fun mini cards, travel boarding pass (OMG to-die-for cuuuuuute!!!), vintage ad ephemera, the luscious lilac bookmark with such an elegant look & texture, the *adorable* jam card, the fanciest paperclip ever - this floral delight - wow; the most gorgeous gift tags I have ever seen, & so much more! I was also filled with glee that with your awesome dictionary card, you taught me the coolest word I have learned in ages:
Tinselry (noun)[tin-sull-ree] Definition: glittering or gaudy decoration I was so excited to learn this cool new word!!! But then I was heartbroken that I couldn’t use this fun word to describe your creation. Because wow - this homemade honey glitters gorgeously - but it sure isn’t the other ‘g’ word from the definition, which I can’t even use in the same sentence with any reference to your creation hahaha! But I can’t wait to frou-frou up any conversation with this fun new word - thank you!!!
As I luxuriated in your creativity, I felt as if I was unpacking one glorious gift box after another! It was a truly delicious, delightful experience. You generated so much intrigue & wonder with your cheery charming creation! As I reveled in the joy I felt in the blessing of your awesome gift, all I could think is that I would LOVE to see your home hahaha - I can’t even begin to imagine how dreamy your place is, if this sweetie is this incredibly beautiful! And then I also wondered what words would do you & your love justice in a mere thank-you. All I can say is - thank you for gifting me your heart, hope, joy, comfort, creativity, compassion, warmth, wonder, luminous light, & love with your sublime gift. May the sunshine you’ve gifted me multiply a zillionfold & return to you. Wishing you happiness in all its forms, my kind friend.
XOXOXO

2023.06.09 19:34 Blackheart201992 Magic Victory is the worst thing about this game and I unironically wish they'd remove it.
Because it makes all other modes of play obsolete. To be clear, MV is not a meta strategy, it is the only viable strategy in any game with more than 4 AI opponents above Easy difficulty. And that's for a number of reasons, mostly do with the game's glacial pacing and the fact that even with the teleports, it just takes way too long to get around the map, but that's neither here nor there.
Think back, how many games matching the criteria I listed above have you played that didn't end in a Magic Victory? Very few, I'd wager. I just came back from my latest miserably failed attempt at tackling Grexolis. I built my entire faction around countering Turiel, after 100+ turns stemming the endless tide, I was finally making a dent - only for the fucking cat to cast Chaos victory spell, and at that point it was GG, the game was over, there was nothing I could.
At time of writing, there are 2 walkthroughs of Grexolis available on YT - one on Easy mode, where the guy defeats Turiel and Meandor before going for MV - but again, it's Easy mode, so who gafs?
Another on hard mode where he starts underground, doesn't defeat a single enemy player, and just rushes MV. The best part? He barely interacted with Turiel at all. The entire northwest section of the map is completely blank by the end. He won by hiding underground like a pussy and avoiding the main boss of the campaign altogether. What a satisfying conclusion to the story.

2023.06.09 19:34 marmorset How to get PCs to find a place that's hard to find but needs to be found?
I'm running a one shot before the new campaign begins. The 1st-level PCs have to deal with some orcs that have been coming out of the mountains raiding a new village. The villagers don't know where the orcs are based exactly, but they'll show the PCs a path in the mountains. After a day or two in the mountains, they'll happen across a small group of miners who just found an unexpected mine, they're thinking probably a long-lost tribe of dwarves used it. That's just going to be mentioned in passing, then they'll tell the PCs where the orcs might be living. The PCs defeat the orcs, the adventure is over.
Then the characters will advance a few levels, I'll individually discuss what they've been up to in the elapsed time. The main campaign starts, it involves the BBEG trying to get his hands on a dangerous artifact that was hidden, generations ago, in what used to be remote area in the distant mountains. The council of local rulers are going to find out the villain is searching for the magic item and research leads them to believe there's a complex in the mountains. The village didn't last, no one knows what happened to the miners, the PCs are the only ones somewhat familiar with the area.
The mine can't be easy to find, there has to be a reason the PCs are the ones called upon to find it. It's not an important part of the original adventure, there would be no reason to remember the exact location. I'll need the PCs to wander around a little, encountering some things that are going to come up again later, before they find the way to the mine. Eventually they'll come across some landmark that appears familiar, that will lead them to the mine/complex.
How do I make a remote, hidden complex that the PCs can find without having them wander around aimlessly? I want to convey to them that it is hard to find, without making it boringly hard to find.

2023.06.09 19:25 ThrowRAanonymous4 I [23M] met the love of my life [21F] after a lifetime of sadness and the sexual side of things is literally killing me
I met the love of my life after a lifetime of sadness and now the sexual side of things is literally killing me
Long story short…I have a lot of sexual confusion and I’m not sure how I’m ever gonna figure it out. I grew up in purity culture, but I was also touched by my dad as a baby and only had memories of it as a grown adult. I blacked out for a lot of periods of my life as a kid. Anyway, I was cheated on in every relationship I had been in. The same thing happened to my current partner. We have clicked over a lot of things. We have wanted to get married. We agree we are soulmates. We have had extreme connections in ways we have never felt before. She has gone with me through literal homelessness and stuck by my side while she had a place to go and I didn’t just cause she wanted to show me she was there. My ex cheated on me in disgusting ways cause I was broke. This woman I have now is the embodiment of love and kindness to me. That’s why I’m in so much pain. I’ll explain
I was never really sexually comfortable before her. I always felt sub par. I’ve always been extremely uncomfortable being naked around anyone, and would finish very fast the few times I did have sex, and it was embarrassing. Mind you though, I was addicted to porn and specifically always wanted to have a threesome but didn’t think I would ever get the chance because I was very sheltered and thought most people were trying to keep their bodies to themselves and would only do those things with the most amazing and attractive people. So I always held myself back. I didn’t have almost any sexual experiences and when I did they weren’t good. I didn’t do good and didn’t get any sort of compliment on it either. My current partner was the first person to instill true confidence in me sexually. (TMI coming through BUT) For example: I thought I was small. Apparently it’s too much sometimes. I thought I wasn’t good. Apparently she never came before me. I thought I was ugly. She said every girl wanted me back in school and I was so hot they were intimidated. All of this just makes me wonder why nobody ever treated me that way. I got called ugly. I was weird and socially awkward. Nobody ever called me hot but every other guy got compliments. It seems like all this should be helping right? But it’s just the backstory to the following. Here’s the thing that actually kills me:
She had a threesome with 2 of her good friends before we were together. One of them was a man who had every woman he wanted and cheated on the love of his life in high school to fuck other women because they all wanted him. She was his friend for 5 years and never had sex with him or had any romantic interest. He will also always be around and in our lives because her best friend is his sister. So he will be around us forever. They both broke up with partners one night and had a threesome with another girl. My partner doesn’t do threesomes. She is monogamous. She had told me she would never share me with anyone ever cause it would kill her. But it was okay for her to share herself with this man and another woman? All I wanted was some feeling of sexual freedom after being denied it my entire life. She got that. The dude who got everyone he ever wanted got that. But I finally find the person I’ve been waiting for in a life I’ve been suicidal most of and it turns out they gave my main sexual fantasy to a man who had already had many. And she always talks about how it was a mistake but how she doesn’t wanna feel shame. She also believes casual sex is okay as long as it’s consensual whether it was a good experience or not. The problem is, I see why it’s not okay. I see how it’s the most intensely intimate contact two humans can have. I don’t understand how a man who gives out no love and doesn’t care about her at all gets to experience something absolutely amazing with her, but BECAUSE I love her, I don’t get the same thing. It makes me so sad it hurts my chest. He connected with her the way I physically connect to her and I waited my whole life for that. And he did something with her she will never do with the man who actually loves her and with anyone else but him. And he just gets to keep that experience with the person I waited my whole life for. Every time I think about it I don’t wanna be alive anymore. The trauma with this experience stacked on top has been too much. I was bullied and had almost no friends my whole life too. I have major PTSD. I feel tired of trying. I feel useless and hopeless. It feels like the magic that used to come out in happy tears when I realized the woman from my dreams was finally here has turned into angry background screaming that never turns off and is here to stay. I’m crying just thinking about it and typing this. It feels like my chance at happiness is over. I know I may sound dramatic. I know most people don’t have this experience. But that’s why I need help. I want her so bad. She’s so good to me in every way but this just makes me so hurt. On top of that, she’s also experimenting with the idea that she may be on the asexual spectrum. I’m always the person who initiates and a lot of the time she isn’t feeling it at that moment. It makes me wonder how someone so shitty got to do something so provocative with her and another woman when with me she doesn’t even wanna have sex that much with the man she loves. How was he so much more worth it? Why would she give that experience to a man who is using her when she knows she will never give that to the man who loves her? It feels like in some odd way I was screwed over before it even started. And that sounds crazy as fuck because she didn’t do anything to me. It just doesn’t feel fair. Please help

2023.06.09 19:24 Rodal888 I want some feedback on what's coming next for Vallaki
So we're at our 30th session. Most things have played the way you would think concerning Vallaki. There was an attack, Lady Wachter tried to dispose of the players afterwards, they fought back, scared the locals and ran away with their tails between their legs. Urwin died but was preserved by our bard so he could still be revived 10 days later. His wife took him and the kids to the winery seeing Vallaki starting to crumble. They alsa gave Blinksy wood from the Gulthias tree (he wanted to make magical toys).
Lots happend after. Days later they ignited the beacon, annoyed Strahd and they're on their way to Vallaki to get the wedding dress for the abbot. On their way they were attacked by creepy living dolls trying to kill them (after investigating they noticed they were carved from Gulthias tree wood). They also met Strahd who basically said their games are done. He saw the beacon and is now just going to Krezk to persuade Ireena to come with him. It's time for a wedding and the party is not invited! When they arrived at the gates of Vallaki, they noticed new guards at the gate (vampire spawn) and when they got the new mayor, it was Escher (who they met at the dinner). That's where I stopped the session.
So basically the town is completely different now. Vargas died (they know that), Lady Wachter is holed up in her house after the party killed her men. Strahd saw this and send in Escher as mayor (trying to give him something to do). Escher however saw an opportunity and brought vampire spawn with him.
When they enter the town and walk around they would see:
- People hammered to walls with nails (these are some of the people who spoke out against them taking over control. Among them Szoldar, the remaining hunter who helped them during the church attack)
- Father Lucian hammered to the wall of his church (dead).
- People stay indoors. Sometimes they hear a scream from someone who dare move outdoors or someone who's dragged from their house 'for questioning' (We run a tight ship here in Vallaki!)
- If they go to Blinksy they find him dead in his shop. Stabbed to death by his own dolls. They see small feet that run through the blood towards and open window. A bloody smear from a little hand on the glass. In his shop you notice pieces of black wood strewn about. half finished carved doll heads still on his workbench.
So basically I got some setting and an idea, I just have no idea how this would continue once they arrive. I figured Escher has strict orders from Strahd to not let them leave if they turn up. This might turn into a fight against vampire spawn, Escher and maybe a bride. I just want this to be a little bit more than just 'arrive - sorry can't leave - fight against vampire spawn - done'.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

2023.06.09 19:24 LegendAmongNerds314 Can luz use magic with string bean?
| When the egg hatches, a huge blast of energy is released and in the season 1 finale. She uses owlbert to remotely activate the glyphs. Another peice if support comes from 2x09. When hunter is tied up, he uses flapjack's magic which he later inherits when flapjack becomes part of him. He dashes and fires magic bolts. As well as the fact luz says she and stringbean found their own way to enter the university of wild magic. 2023.06.09 19:23 DMSetArk Magic Item Shops. There are a ton of generators. What is your favorite?
Well. Message is in the title!
Tl;DR: What methods do you use to generate the items of an magic item shop? Online generators? IF so which ones? Choose by hand? Roll tables?
Thing is, i don't really like the core concept originally from 5e, that doesn't exist magic item shops.
I understand, and used it for some time, but, my setting is too high magic to not have magic item shops.
Some could be "Magic item by demand" and the player negotiates a price and the crafter will make it for them, on their timetable. This i've been doing and it's okeyish. Most players end up not wanting to request because they want to go adventuring already not keep downtiming until their items are ready.
But i'm going back to my 3.5 ways and on larger towns there will be magic item shops, ranging from the corner of the street shop with some common \uncommon\ maybe one rare item, to auction houses doing rarer items.
So, Auctions i can choose items by hand, but for more "I wander on a shop to see their magic items inventory"
What resources do you use? Do you roll tables? Do you use online generators, if so which ones? Do you choose by hand items that the party may find useful?
Welp, that's it.
Thanks for any help and, sorry for some stuttered grammar, english isn't my native.

2023.06.09 19:21 Glittering-Toe-8156 Dumbest Interaction I’ve ever had with a guest
I’m covering a break on sco & once everyone leaves I go around each sco cleaning up. I got to one register that had a receipt sticking out no one next to it it’s been empty for minutes now. As soon as I go to through the receipt away I hear “Did you just throw that away” I turn around a guest standing there asking me why would I throw her receipt away and I said it’s been empty for minutes I’m cleaning up the area she goes okay but why would you throw away MY receipt?? I said I didn’t know it was your receipt therefore I threw it away because the register was empty with no one near it. She had none of her items with her she already loaded her car how was I supposed to know she would magically reappear for her receipt? She stares at me like I committed murder and continues to ask why I threw it away at this point she doesn’t even say she needs it or nothing just continues to yell at me. I go do you want it?? I grab the receipt from the trash and before handing it to her I say there was no need for you to be rude at all or approach me the way you did. All she says it’s “I’m just stating what YOU did” I say have a good day and walk away as she just stares at me. I can’t stand how entitled these people act!!

2023.06.09 19:20 okidonthaveone Do you think we'll get to see any other humans in Deltarune? I can see why we wouldn't but I also think it would be really interesting and also further separate the story from undertale.
Humans or something we couldn't see in undertale for very obvious reasons. But those reasons simply do not exist in Deltarune. We don't know if this is a world where monsters won the war or not but the fact that there are enough human-monster relationships that there is an entire book dedicated to how to take care of them makes me think that humans even if they are a minority are a decent presence in this world.
Kris has a clear reaction too the book that I am referring to here. And while we know that Chara (who is presumably in some way connected to Kris, I mean look at the similarities I'm not saying they're necessarily alternate universe version of each other but they definitely represent each other to some degree) Hates humans we actually don't know why other than some vague hints, even the hints are pretty debatable the only confirmed tidbit we have is the statements that Asriel makes.
This would be our chance to get some version of that to know why Kris hates humans and get to see them deal with that rather than just be able to avoid it. It would also give us a bit more lower about how humans work in this Multiverse(?) The core story of undertale requires that humans can use magic for it to function and yet humans are stated to not be able to use Magic as monsters have it, does this mean humans have some different Power is it just determination or something else. Do Soul colors have something to do with it. I mean how cool would it be for it to turn out that the barrier and undertale was made by Green Souls who can make barriers like we see in the battle against undyne. (I know that was a spear but you get what I mean)
Maybe the red soul ability is to be able to switch between the other colors in times of crisis in exchange for having no power in day-to-day life.
There's so much about humans that we don't know which can partially be excused by the fact that we are humans but I'm starting to get the feeling that deltarune humans are not quite a one for one to the ones in real life.
Humans for example do not have red glowing eyes and yet we see on multiple occasions that Kris does.
It would be cool if it were revealed that humans and Delta Rune had eyes that glow their soul color. It would be a great way to introduce sole color as something that would be cared about in a world where research on the soul doesn't seem to have gotten as far as it has an undertale

2023.06.09 19:18 DonnyLamsonx The ups and downs of sibling dynamics(aka why Pandreo+Pannette are rad and Clanne+Framme are sad)
In light of recent discussion about Engage's writing, it got me thinking a bit more critically about my own views on it. For context, I'm someone that generally prefers gameplay over story/writing, but the split is pretty close (like a 60:40 ratio). I'm generally pretty neutral about Engage's writing overall with its characters. But I think what sours me a bit more than it should is that Engage's character writing shows specks of potential, which gets my hopes up about the overall quality, but fails to consistently deliver.
For my own personal tastes, I am a fan of sibling dynamics in video games being a middle child of 3 myself. So, when I learned that there was not just one, but two non-lord sibling pairs in Engage, I was pretty excited to see how they would be tackled. One pair became two of my favorite characters in the whole franchise, the other will probably fade from my memory sooner rather than later.
I wanna start by talking about what "works" about Pandreo and Panette to showcase what I feel is lacking from Clanne and Framme
The underlying subplot behind Pandreo and Panette is their shared backstory of being raised by crappy parents and how each of them decided to cope with that. Pandreo turned to the church in an attempt to find meaning in a harsh world ultimately choosing a healthier way to cope, while Panette ran away from home and took her frustrations out on bandits in the countryside. This by itself is a great set up because it allows Pandreo and Panette to escape the trap of siblings being "too agreeable" with each other and just being two slightly different versions of the same character.
Pandreo can be generally described as someone who likes to be the light in a world filled with strife. He views worship of the Divine Dragon less as a dedicated organized religion, and more of a way to give people something to believe in to look forward towards the future. It's for this reason that his congregation is all about partying, howling and dancing as these are pretty physical activities that can release a lot of stress if his support with Alcryst is anything to go by. I particularly find his supports with Vander and Seadall to be highlights in his support log because they have something that I feel is lacking from a lot of Engage's supports; interpersonal conflict. Vander is initially mortified by Pandreo's congregation, going so far as to straight up call it a circus, while him and Seadall beef with each other on what it means to "truly dance". Conflict is simply a natural part of fiction writing because it forces characters to grow. And the cool thing about character growth is that both parties don't necessarily have to see eye to eye at the end. Vander doesn't magically see things from Pandreo's PoV during their A support, but the important part is that he's willing to try even if "these motions are beyond me" and he even throws out his back in the process. Pandreo doesn't suddenly just accept Seadall's views on dancing, but he's still willing to learn from Seadall so long as the style of lesson changes. I think these two supports in particular show Pandreo's ability to talk with people rather than at them and why his supports feel like two people talking to each other, rather than one just reacting to the other.
The arguably most important Panette support is the one with Timmera. It shows that Panette's noble persona is borne from her own personal desire to not embarrass Timerra and as a way to distance herself from the hatred filled personality that was born from her parent's neglect. Then you have this facet of her personality expanded on in her supports with Etie and Yunaka. This naturally has interpersonal drama baked into it. Etie literally attacks her in an attempt to draw out her true nature while Yunaka and Panette take turns calling each other out on their respective fake personalities. But both of these supports turn the conflict into a positive direction by giving Panette another person that she can be her "true" self around. But her noble persona isn't always treated as a good thing as Saphir gives her a lot of pushback since Panette attempts to push "proper manners" into her without really considering Saphir's feelings. Her supports with Ivy and Saphir show her that what works for her doesn't necessarily work for everyone even if she has good intentions. It's quite easy to pick out the little lessons that Panette is picking up from her supports which overall builds a well-fleshed out character.
Finally, both Pandreo's and Panette's character come to a head in their support with each other. It starts with Pandreo immediately telling Panette to drop the "silver spoon" act which really sets the tone for the entire thing. It becomes very apparent that Panette does not approve of Pandreo's decision to become the head of their parents' congregation and Panette even straight up says that she'd rather be dead that set foot in the church again. From this single C support, it's clear that there is a lot of unsolved tension not just between the sibling's relationship with their parents, but with their relationship with each other. The crux of their B support focuses on Pandreo's attempts to reconcile with Pannette. He explains why he didn't scold her for running away and even congratulates Panette on her ability to become a royal retainer on her own. It ends with Pandreo telling Panette that their parents looked for her after she ran away which throws Panette off. But the important part is that Pandreo doesn't attempt to use this information to justify their parents' treatment of them, nor does he use it as a way to guilt Panette about running away. He simply just lets her know and allows Panette to do whatever she wants with that information. Lastly, their A support primarily revolves around Panette's attempts to reconcile with Pandreo. It's important to note that this support takes place within their parents' old church as Panette talks about how she really didn't want to come there. However, she comes anyway because she recognizes that her relationship with her brother is worth more than the hatred of her parents. From her supports, it's implied pretty heavily that Panette has likely been ridiculed for her aggressive behavior, born from the mistreatment from her parents who might've done the same, and that that might be a huge part of her personal drama. But Pandreo is the only one who never pushed her to be something that she's not. In fact, their support straight up starts with Pandreo telling her to be real with him. Even though Panette is not ready to forgive her parents for their mistreatment, she is willing to at least sit down with them and have an honest conversation out of respect for Pandreo. Although the fate of their parents is unknown, the support ends with Pandreo begging for Panette to survive the war as he can't stand the pain of losing more family with Panette playfully snapping back that he's got nothing to worry about even saying that she'll protect him. This support again exemplifies Pandreo's ability to talk with people, while we get to see Panette in her rawest, and most emotionally vulnerable form. The way that both of these characters are written just feels very human and real and I love it. You can see the effects of their parent's mistreatment throughout both of their supports and their support with each other wraps up that conflict nicely even if it's not a "perfect" happy ending.
On the flipside of things, Clanne and Framme are a bit....lacking. The main thing I feel like the young stewards are missing is a shared conflict to grow from. I get that they're both training under Vander as the next generation of Divine Dragon Stewards, but the situation feels like it lacks a personal stake for Clanne and Framme. Sure, Vander talks alot about how the two are his successors, but why were they chosen? What drove Clanne and Framme to become stewards? I feel as though Clanne and Framme's characters are severely gimped due to the lack of world building surrounding the Stewards in general. We don't really get to hear a whole lot about what they actually do and how they differ from other guardian groups like the Sentinels of Solm or the Royal Guard of Brodia which is pretty important considering that the Stewards are the guardians to Elyos's equivalent to God. This lack of world-building is really exemplified in Clanne's A support with Vander where Clanne spends the whole support chain feeling frustrated since he believes that he's just being used for menial tasks for Vander to suddenly reveal that these tasks are the true duties of a Steward. I get that Clanne is young, but if Framme's support with Alear is anything to go by, the two have been training to be Stewards for a non-trivial amount of time. Why is it only now, once the Divine Dragon has woken up, that Vander and Clanne have this heart to heart?
Being a hard worker is not a generic character trait in and of itself, but it feels that way with Clanne without a greater understanding of the what the Stewards actually do. Thus, Clanne has to draw on something else to stand out, and that's his love of pickles. It's a cute gimmick, but the issue is that Engage's writing doesn't really do anything with it. Pandreo's "gimmick" is being a party animal, but the writing uses that as a way to segway into his desire to ease people's suffering. I think the writing easily could've created a running gag where Clanne seemingly has a pickle for any and every occasion in order to show off some form of innovation. The support that comes the closest to using his pickle obsession in a character-building kind of way is his support with Veyle, but Veyle joins super late and tbh I think the way they transitioned into the more meaningful topic felt a bit forced. Honestly, I feel as though the greatest missed opportunity in Clanne's character is utilizing his weird growth spread as a character-building block. To illustrate what I mean, L'Arachel's support with Joshua is one of my favorites and largely centers around L'Arachel falling for the allure of gambling and Joshua accidentally getting in over his head when he realizes how "lucky" L'Arachel is. You can primarily view this as a humorous support that's not meant to be taken that seriously, but it should also be noted that L'Arachel has the second highest luck growth of the playable cast(65%) behind Tethys while Joshua's luck growth is thoroughly average(30%). It's uncertain if it was intentional, but knowing this, you could view their support as a form of gameplay and story integration due to the disparity of their luck growths. In their A support, Joshua even accidentally admits that he's been fixing the outcome of every game in his favor and L'Arachel still wins in the end due to her obscene luck. The support ends with Joshua throwing up his hands and refusing to gamble with L'Arachel further and L'Arachel falling so deep into the gambling rabbit hole that she thinks it's a great idea to build a gambling hall in Rausten despite the fact that she called gambling "a boil upon the fair skin of mankind" at the start. I bring this up because Clanne's growth spread and starting class are at odds with each other. His strength growth is significantly higher than his magic growth and yet he starts the game as a mage. I can think of lots of plotlines that can stem from that. Perhaps Clanne is physically fit to be a Steward, but Vander's vision of a Steward is required to at least have a basic understanding of magic. His supports could largely revolve around his journey into a subject that he's wholly unfamiliar with and you can use his hobby of making pickles to show what he does in his downtime to unwind from his studies. Perhaps his moments of low self-confidence could stem from his inability to quickly understand the concepts behind magic(hence his low magic growth). Character gimmicks are fun and they can make a character more memorable(Zelkov's craftiness and random emphasis of words is a good example within Engage imo), but a character that is entirely defined by their gimmick isn't particularly interesting.
Imo, Framme is ironically a half decent character because her supports don't talk about her Steward duties all that much so she isn't hurt as much by the lack of world-building behind the Stewards. The best way I'd describe Framme is an erratic people pleaser. She has the desire to bring people together, even if she doesn't have all the ideas on how to do that figured out. I find that her support with Diamant is a genuinely great support for both of their characters. She can be a bit one-note-ish but I blame that more on the lack of easily understood personal stake in becoming a Steward which prevents her from having a more meaningful outlet to channel her positivity into.
Overall, Clanne and Framme feel more like vessels for stereotypes and traits more than full-fledged characters which is why it all falls flat in their support with each other. The lack of a shared personal conflict of some kind really rears its ugly head as the "main" conflict between the Steward siblings is only introduced in their B support and is very quickly wrapped up in their A support. Since Clanne was very much on board with Framme's idea in their C-support and Clanne's lack of self-confidence is not really explored that much in his other supports, his suddenly refusal to go through with the plan feels artificial for the explicit purpose of creating drama between the two. The twins call each other the co-presidents of the Divine Dragon Fan Club, but with the way that their support is written, it really doesn't feel that way. Framme has the reins of the conversation for pretty much the entire support chain until the very tail end of the A support. It also doesn't help that Clanne is pretty much treated as the sole "problem". Framme should theoretically be the one that understands Clanne the best and the fact that she can't seem to recognize that he's super uncomfortable during the beginning of their B support feels weird. Framme doesn't have to change anything about who she is because, in the eyes of the support, she hasn't done anything wrong. The sibling dynamic doesn't really come across to me because only one sibling(Clanne) has grown from their interaction with the other, rather than both growing with each other. I think it could've easily been written that Framme's over eagerness overpowered any ideas that Clanne had and Clanne just silently accepted those ideas because he didn't want to rain on his sister's parade. You can keep things largely the same and then have Framme recognize in the A-support that she should tone it down a touch so that the siblings can truly be co-presidents of their fan club. It's not some deep storyline, but it helps me better see how the Steward siblings look out for each other.
TL;DR Pandreo and Panette feel like genuine siblings because they share a conflict whose effects can be seen in both their individual supports and their support with each other. Clanne and Framme on the other hand come across more like best friends which isn't necessarily bad but is a problem when I'm supposed to see them as brother and sister.

2023.06.09 19:14 DrPePaPiG How did the Dwemer go extinct?
I’ve had many fun theories and explanations for why they went extinct but this one was always my favorite. So imagine this: a secret cult of Dwemer attempting to master dark magic. They are conjuring things up as experiments to try to get a better understanding of the oblivion plain. One day everything is going as usual until something goes horribly wrong. They summon something I like to call a Durgon. The Durgon goes on a bloody rampage and kills all of the Dwemer there. But Durgons have a special way of killing. They imprint on their very first victim and now only kill that kind of creature. For example if a Durgons first kill was a Sabre cat, then that’s all they would kill and they wouldn’t stop until all the sabre cats were gone. And that’s what they did for the Dwemer. But they don’t only kill the Dwemer, they eat it’s soul. And with the sound it multiplies itself. They can move incredibly fast without being noticed and can wipe out entire cities of Dwemer in a matter of hours. And the more they kill, the more there are. until all of the Dwemer are gone. But now that they are gone, what do they do? What they do is every single one goes to the lowest point they possibles can in the earth. After they are all there, they simply lay down and diem just like that. But tell me, what are your explanations for the Dwemer going extinct?

2023.06.09 19:13 Skippyfoxx RIP Squash & Zucchini Plants🕊️
| Can someone help me identify this pest. It’s very clearly a bad guy as it chewed little holes everywhere and it can’t be SVB because it’s not within the stem and there’s no signs of holes at the base of the plant. First time gardener and sadly I’ve officially given up on my squash and zucchini plants for this season. I’ve had to research and try to conquer numerous issues, a new one arising as I battle each one. Have not gotten a single fruit and it’s already June. The zucchini leaves were fine yesterday and are now wilting and drooping heavily today. I’ve learned to find more Florida friendly varieties in order to battle the sun/heat and persistent pests better. Hopefully in the fall I will be better prepared.
