Hi all
Planning a road trip this summer from San Fran to Los Angeles.
Planning on renting a car when I land at SFO and looking into renting a Model 3.
We’ve planned to make a few stops along the way in Carmel, Big Sur, Santa Barbara, and then ultimately LA. Planning on driving over 5 days.
Would be my first time driving a Tesla and going along Highway 1.
What do people think about renting a model 3 - is it a good idea / will there be enough charging spots along the way that I don’t need to worry about getting stuck?

I’ve had it run fine for about 15 min or so, but then at WOT it will almost die, then rev like crazy, then die. Usually have to wait 10-15 before it will start up again, if it does. Hey Yuma Redditors,
I hope you're all doing well! I'm reaching out to the community here because I'm in need of a little help. I'm currently in the process of purchasing some catalytic converters for my vehicle (they got stolen), but unfortunately, I'm unable to have them shipped directly to California due to CARB restrictions.
However, I have an idea that might save me a lot of money and effort, and that's where you come in. I was wondering if there's anyone in Yuma who would be willing to receive the catalytic converters on my behalf and hold onto them until I can come to pick them up. They would be shipped to your door and you would just need to store them for maximum a couple of days
The estimated arrival date for the parts is mid next week, most likely around Wednesday or Thursday. I plan to drive to the Yuma area on Friday, June 16th from Los Angeles, and I would be more than happy to swing by and collect the items personally.
I understand that it's a bit of an unusual request, but I figured the friendly folks of Yuma might be able to lend a hand. Rest assured, I would be extremely grateful for any assistance offered, and I'm willing to compensate for your time and effort with a 12 pack of your favorite drink.

Recuerdo, que hace poco menos de un año, estaba con mi primo en Lanzarote, casa de mis abuelos, el y yo vamos todos los años, de hecho, estamos a 12 días más o menos de ir, y nos morimos de ganas sobre todo yo, por que aquí tengo mala relación con mi madre, con lo niños del sitio etc..
La cosa es que aún tenemos algo de miedo por lo que nos pasó. Veréis, soy una persona sensitiva, es decir, escucho, veo y siento cosas. Cuando volvimos a Lanzarote después de la pandemia todo estaba bien, más o menos, el siguiente año a ese paso algo raro.
Una noche le dije a mi primo que había una sombra negra debajo de su cama, sonriendo ampliamente y con unos ojos rojos potentes, el lógicamente no me creyó y solo se rió un poco, pero a cosa de las 6:00 am, me dormí, y mi primo me levantó una hora después, y tenía un arañazo que le cruzaba el torso entero, entonces, me miro y me dijo "esta bien, ya te creo".Esa mismo noche, pusimos cojines al rededor de toda la cama y la las 3:30 quizas 3:48 am, mi primo me despertó, de nuevo, y me dijo "mira eso", el recoloco un cojín y se subió a mi cama, yo estaba aun con sueño, pero se me quito de golpe cuando vi al cojín salir despedido hacia la izquierda, mi primo estaba congelado, y entonces vimos a dos fantasmas más.
Este año pasado fue más de lo mismo, pero dos de esos encuentros fueron muy traumáticos para nosotros. El primero fue de noche, estábamos jugando al escondite de noche en el patio, y bueno, en la parte de detrás de la casa donde está la caseta del perro, hay un pasillo que hace esquina y después hay una puerta a la calle, pues mi primo iba a esconderse en ese pasillo, y cuando estaba llegando a la esquina, vio a una sombra negra con una perturbadora y amplia sonrisa asmorase desde la esquina, el se asustó y volvió conmigo, diciendo que no quería jugar mas, yo fui con un palo de escoba a ver que ocurria y los perros de la casa me aconpañaron. El más grande empezó a ladrar y la pequeña a gruñir, ambos estaban erizados y con la cola entre las patas, y lo vi, se asomo y se rió, agarre a los perros del collar y me aleje junto a ellos, no le di más importancia, solamente ignoramos el hecho.
Poco después, una noche a cosa de las 2:18 am, salí a la carretera de enfrente de casa y me tumbe en ella, estaba escuchando música con los auriculares, mi primo salió a hacerme compañía y entonces la perra pequeña empezó a mirar a una casa que estaba a la izquierda y enfrente de casa de mis abuelos. Estuve un rato más en la carretera y cuando me iba a ir seguí a la perra hasta esa casa, entonces mi primo me llamó casi llorando y vi de reojo una sombra pasa a mí lado y entonces se escucho un grito de dolor o terror como esos de las películas, a dis de hoy no se que fue realmente lo que paso, pero si nos dio mucho miedo.

Here are all of the new US CCS (Level 3 fast-charging) stations that rolled out in May 2023, according to the Department of Energy. These chargers are suitable for most new EVs on the market, except for:
There were 222 CCS charge points added or refreshed in May 2023, which is up from 171 in April. For comparison, there were only 74 new CCS charge points in May 2022. Things are speeding up.
"What about CCS charging at Tesla superchargers?" Tesla is in the process of rolling out their "magic dock" for non-Tesla cars, but so far in very few locations. If they start doing this at scale and reporting it to the Alternative Fuels Data Center then it will be reflected here.
"What about Ford vehicles with NACS (Tesla) plugs?" They are not on sale yet. Current-generation Ford vehicles have CCS plugs. The next generation will have NACS (Tesla) plugs, but will also support CCS via an adapter.

- Paloma: Las palomas son sogas hechas con tiras de tela. Son llamadas así ya que se usan para pasarse cosas de pabellón en pabellón y al ser arrojadas "vuelan como palomas mensajeras". También son usadas como sogas para tender la ropa, entre otros usos.
- Pescar: Agarrar algo que está fuera del pabellón mediante el uso de palomas.
- Pajarito: Licor tumberos hecho con frutas o arroz fermentado.
- Perros: Son los aliados del referente, los que lo defienden y pelean por el.
- Plaqueta: El celular.
- Palero: Cascudo con cachiporras, palos.
- Plátano: Banana.
- Población: Los presos comunes, osea los que no están en pabellones de conducta, ni pabellones cristianos.
- Política: Se denomina política la manera de llevar y hacer las cosas en el pabellón. Las normas que los referentes imponen.
- Preventiva: Es la detención preventiva ordenada por el juez, para mantenerte preso a espera del juicio. Si en 45 días no te llega la preventiva te vas en libertad, la preventiva no puedo durar más de dos años. Supuestamente.
- Patada: Tener el favor o beneficio de los Cobanis o de personas externas, para conseguir ciertos lujos o comodidades.
- Pinchar: Termino referido para generar conflictos.
- Patitas y alitas: Pelear con facas solo apuntando a los brazos y piernas.

I am currently an HOURLY temp-to-hire working a hybrid corporate office position in California. I was assigned a specific designated market area only because I am "local" to the Los Angeles, CA area, "local" meaning 2+ hour drive one way, and it is expected that we make visits to this area frequently.
I am the ONLY person on my team that would have to drive 50mi+ regularly and find this to be complete bullshit. I have absolutely no issues with traveling for work, but I am 100% NOT okay with using my personal vehicle for regular business trips that would be 50mi+ as the company policy says we need to be ok with driving within 50mi which i'm fine with - but im being asked to do way outside of this range (80-100mi +) normal distance.
I want to set a firm boundary that if I need to travel past 50mi that I'm no way in hell driving that as that's absolutely ridiculous for someone living 2+ hours away in LA and would be a minimum of a 4 hour round trip in a 8 hour workday. My employer tries to argue that they compensate for mileage but the payout is nothing close to how much gas, time, mental exhaustion, and future repairs are going to require. I have tried explaining the ridiculousness of driving this distance in LA, bringing up how I would LOSE money with their travel expense guidelines, and all I want is for them to pay for a lyft/uber there and back or even plane ride/travel accommodation anytime I'm required to travel past 50mi.
Even explaining to my manager how me sitting in traffic for 4 hours in an 8 hour workday unable to attend to any work and that I would need to work OT sounds better to them than paying for a lyft/uber?! To them, I should have carpooled with someone from our company who conveniently lives near me earlier or taken ground transposition (that would take 3-4 hours).
For obvious reasons such as needing income to live, quitting is not an option. How can I fight for my right for REASONABLE travel accommodations with my manager?

hey everyone. My buddy just started trucking about a year ago and said i should give it a shot ( i was a carpenter but have been wanting to try something different.) . So i got my class A permit, did the interview and went thought the hiring process ( interveiw, physical , drugtest). i was basically hirred on but after my background check they changed theyre mind. I have one felony ( i did not go to prison, some county time and check into probation once a month , first time ever) on my record from a year ago ( not driving related) and thats all.
so basically i still want to pursue trucking just not sure how this all works since its very new to me. i spent the last 4 weeks for this and was counting on it. I was just wondering if any of you might have any advice/suggestions/recommendations or anything of the sort. im in southern california, los angeles county and would be looking for a company that trains. I have my class A permit and physical as well.
