Restaurants near ewing township nj

This may be a long shot, but does anyone remember the name of this small restaurant that was around in the late 90s?

I remember going to this restaurant when I was a kid with my grandparents and it almost reminded me of a Great Value rainforest café. The wallpapers had parrots on them and they had little water fountains for decor. I was so young so I don’t remember much else about it. I definitely think it was a small business and I do remember there being a bakery near it because we would go there afterward. 🤣
I don’t know if it was in Dayton exactly but it was somewhere in the area.

Looking for restaurant recommendations near-ish Bethel (30-45 minutes max) for 10-14 people for a birthday dinner. About half of the group is vegetarian/pescatarian and one person has celiacs.

2023.06.09 20:02 Morgellons-Live "Superfoods" article by Aajonus Vonderplanitz

"Superfoods
For Vegetarians And Vegans Or Who?
I have heard so much about superfoods and their benefits. What's your experience and what do you think about them?
Are there such things as superfoods? Gogi berries, cocoa beans, nibs and powder, noni juice and powder, maca root powder, acai berries and powder, hemp seed powder, camu camu berries and powder, green-tea extract, blue mangosteen, cod liver and fish oils, green powders and pills made from green grasses and their juices and algae such as spirulina, and chlorella are all claimed as raw superfoods by many people in the raw-food movements. I found that it is mainly within the vegetarian and vegan raw-food groups that people seek superfoods. It is helpful to understand why they must have superfoods.
Consider that humans have acidic and short digestive tracts producing acidic digestive fluids and harboring acidic bacteria, and 80% of teeth are designed for cutting, extremely similar to carnivores. Herbivores have mainly alkaline and very long digestive tracts producing vast amounts of alkaline- digestive juices and bacteria, and all teeth are molars for grinding vegetation. Rarely are there healthy long-term raw vegetarians and vegans. Usually, the more committed ones hit a wall at 7 years. Others that cheat may spend a decade or two before they hit the wall. Often, the wall is serious disease such as cancer. Half of my cancer patients were long-term vegetarians and vegans.
Ninety-nine percent of human vegetarians and vegans cannot get enough protein and fats, and lack minerals and an array of nutrients from their diets. Ninety-nine percent of their bodies are unfulfilled and unsatisfied. I know from 6 years of subjective and objective experience as a raw "balanced-diet- eating vegetarian evolved to vegan." I and ALL of the vegetarians and vegans I knew were usually malnourished with eating disorders. I adhered to it 99.9% of the time. Others were much less tenacious. However, occasionally, uncontrollably yet consciously, I stretched and contorted what foods were truly raw, trying to force reality to conform to my adopted concepts of vegetarianism and veganism.
I did not realize the irrationality of believing that humans were optimally healthy as raw-food vegetarians and vegans. I had accepted the false information that our digestive tracts were more alkaline like other primates, and herbivores. I was so malnourished, anytime anyone told me about a superfood such as amaranth "grain of Egyptian gods", I consumed it. However, all such promises of superfoods resulted in my slow but steady deterioration to 96 pounds at 5'8".
Primal-Diet-eating athlete Scott Wheeler of Australia for example won the race at the Raw Games in Hawaii November 2008. All of the other runners were vegetarians or vegans, some mostly raw and some not.
Ninety percent or more of all of currently purported superfoods are processed and not truly raw. They are not fresh so they lack enzymes. Whenever foods are dried, bioactive enzymes are inactivated like a dead auto battery. They cannot be resurrected any more than we can resurrect ourselves from dead. Therefore, even dried fruits are not really raw because they lack bioactive enzymes.
Although Native North American Indians lacked our laboratory sciences, they knew the inferior nature of dried food. They had empirical science called experience. Empirical awareness and knowledge is much more valuable, containing wisdom rather than conclusions based on chemical theories and hypotheses.
Each summer, Native Americans made large supplies of a mixture of dried meat and fat, sometimes adding berries. It is called pemmican. It would be eaten in case they could not find fresh kill. Eating pemmican would prevent starvation, fatigue and bodily deterioration. The process of making pemmican was time-consuming, both hunting and preparing it by drying, beating it until it became flour, soaking it in the sun with warmed fat, drying it in the sun and sitting near it and occasionally pressing it into 90 pound dried hard blocks. By spring, if they did not consume it, they buried it because they knew it would not be optimum for their health.
Let's take a look at the processes that so-called superfoods undergo to see if they are truly raw. Noni juice is chemically or heat processed to prevent fermentation in bottles. The chemical process utilizes kerosene derivative or alcohol. Both are natural but toxic. All "superfoods" that are powdered must be thoroughly dried so they do not cake and stick in the machines while being ground. When hard foods such as cocoa beans and roots are ground into flour, the machines reach a temperature of at least 176° F (80° C), cauterizing the foods.
Cauterization seals the food and makes it harder. It is therefore harder to liquefy and takes more time to digest in the digestive tract. Also, any metallic minerals in the foods will be released by the heat and be more toxic. Claims that such foods are 100% raw and have more antioxidants are false, after drying and cauterizing/cooking. They have the opposite effect in varying degrees.
Whole leaf grasses and fruits also have to be completely dried and hardened for powdering. Rarely are any grasses sun-dried. Usually, they are kiln-dried at temperatures above 118° F (48° C) and up to 138° F(59° C). They are also subjected to the same friction-heat from machines during the powdering processes that reach at least 176° F (80° C). They are not raw because all enzymes are destroyed and the food is cauterized/cooked. Also, we are not herbivores that can properly digest vegetable matter, especially when dried. The only exception is chlorella; I have experimented and found it to be somewhat beneficial. Commercial liquid green teas are all steeped in boiling water.
Sometimes, kerosene derivatives, distilled alcohol or other chemicals are sprayed on those foods to breakdown the oils and force them to dry faster. Since kerosene and alcohol are natural, they may legally call the product "All Natural." They know they mislead consumers and they do not care. Their interest is to supply products for abundant profits rather than produce quality products for which they obtain less profit.
The same is true of acai, camu camu, gogi, and noni. There are many beneficial claims about those foods so most people who consume them believe my analyses of those foods are wrong. However, consider that people feel better because most of those foods are high in carbohydrates and raise the blood and nerve sugar levels causing hyperactivity.
Raised blood and nerve sugar levels are not indications of health. In fact, they are indications of bodily harm. Columbia University found that we store 70-90% of Advanced Glycation End-products (AGEs), byproducts from spent high-carbohydrates, in our bodies for a lifetime. AGEs are cancer feeding byproducts that cause many ill effects, including arterial sclerosis by attaching to venous and arterial walls.
Also, infusions of powders cause increases in hormones such as adrenalin, also elevating energy levels but not to healthful benefits long-term. All endocrine glandular production is for emergency purposes only. For instance, adrenaline is for fight and/or flight. We are supposed to derive our energy from foods that supply fats, proteins with little carbohydrate, rich in enzymes and bacteria. If we were to eat proper raw foods rich in fats and proteins, and digest and assimilate them properly, most of us would have improved energy and stamina. After many years of eating a proper diet, we would develop tremendous energy and stamina. Like primitive Eskimos, we could live happily in the most strenuous climates and environments.
Cocoa beans (cacao), nibs and powder contain theobromine which is similar to caffeine and a nerve irritant. When cooked and/or processed, that neural irritant is a free radical. It often stimulates hormones such as adrenaline, testosterone and estrogen, making people think their new energy is healthful.
The only truly raw cocoa bean retains it moist skin and must be hand peeled. In small amounts it may be briefly ground in a coffee-bean grinder or blender without reaching high temperatures to retain its rawness and nutrition. I discussed the benefits of eating small amounts of raw cocoa beans in the earlier PD newsletter issue Vol. 7, Oct. 30, 2007. I have a correction to that. Cocoa beans do not contain the nerve stimulants/irritants caffeine or theophylline. They contain theobromine of the same family as caffeine and theophylline.
Fish and cod liver oils must have all proteins removed on which bacteria can feed, according to USFDA standards. That requires heat and/or chemical processes to separate and extract proteins. Two companies claim they produce their fish oils without heat or chemicals but they add processed oils as preservatives. Although that is a small amount, those preservative oils have been heat and chemically processed. How much fish oil is lost to the heated and processed preservative oils? How much of the fish oil will be contaminated by the processed preservative oils? We can glean an idea by the fact that they add enough to prevent the oil from being predigested by natural bacteria. If all of the oil is prevented from predigestion, how much will we not be able to digest? How much will the contaminated preservative oils contaminate us?
As a civilized race whose members eat processed and chemicalized-food, we require air-conditioning and heat in our homes and transportation to sustain us or we cannot work, play or eat. Our perspiration would reek. So many people I know who exercise reek of old stinky sauces, especially tomato sauces. They have a body odor like the outdoor garbage bin of fast-food Italian restaurants or pizza parlors on a hot summer day. That odor is from chemically produced flavorings and fragrances added to tomato sauces to make flavor and odor consistent. Civilized man is now the weakest organism on this planet.
"Superfood" is a misnomer. All lack enzymes and little can be digested and assimilated. Some contain nerve irritants and other chemicals that cause the body to produce hormones that flow through blood and nerves, elevating a sense of well-being without elevated true health. Therefore, the body's responses to "superfoods" indicate toxic responses. Calling any processed food superfood is the same as calling supplements magic bullets. However, if I were to judge any food as superfood, one would be honey that was unheated above 92° F (33° C). Another would be bone marrow from completely organically raised animals, fresh and raw in bones."

2023.06.09 19:55 scoco215 AITA for insisting that I (F27) want to celebrate my birthday, and at a specific restaurant despite my mother's (F58) insistence she just has too much to do

Absolutely a first world problem, but I'm finding the situation to be ridiculous. About two weeks before my birthday, my mom and bf asked what I wanted to do to celebrate. I decided to go to a restaurant near my apartment which is about an hour away from where my mom lives, and 2 from where my bf lives. I've been there many times, and it has some pretty unique features I was excited to show my mom. We would then end the night by going to a concert. I assumed commuting wouldn't be a problem, as my boyfriend and I trade off who drives to who. My mother has not visited me at all in the time I have lived in this apartment, while I drive 2 hours round trip multiple times each month to visit, so it seemed fine.
Guess I was wrong. My mom told me "I don't have time for that." I pressed her and told her it would take a half day. She snapped, and started listing off all the problems that she tells me about every day, that our house is falling down (don't see what that's about), that she needs to meet with other people, and that I'm selfish. I just walked away from this, kind of blindsided and hurt. I figured she was not coming, and so had my boyfriend make a reservation at the restaurant, and bought two concert tickets. My mom asked me again about the concert, and said she wanted to go. She bought a ticket nearby, and started talking about how it would be easiest if we ate at a restaurant 15 minutes from her house. I insisted on going to the original restaurant and she said "I'm busy, I don't have time for that kind of luxury, and I don't know if I'll even like the food there". She demanded a menu, but left before I could show it to her.
She then scheduled more things on my birthday and started screaming at me today about how I don't care about anyone but myself, that she had so many problems, and no one cared, and that I acted exactly like my abusive father. She declared that she never had a good birthday celebration in the past 20 years, which she frankly has some nerve to say when for the last few years I have tried to give her expensive spa treatments, schedule weekend getaways, and buy her stuff she liked (all of which she demanded I return, or complained about for months after that something was wrong with it.) I told her she could make herself miserable for her birthday if she wanted, but I wanted a small celebration. Cue more accusations about how I'm "like my father, and don't care about what people need or 'our' problems." I ended up cancelling the reservation to the restaurant. I felt guilty to exclude her, because things have been hard, and I wanted a break too.
Also, not sure if this is related, but I went to get my hair done at a nice salon, which I've been saving up for and her attitude towards me and my birthday seems magically worse than before. I'm at the point where I just feel kind of sad and childish about even trying to celebrate, and I kind of want to cancel it all because I feel weird and guilty now. AITA?

2023.06.09 19:15 its-just-meeee I really wish I could stop thinking I'm screwing everything up.

I've been realizing lately I'm actually REALLY insecure. I thought, because I consider myself easygoing, that it translated to an easygoing attitude towards myself. No, turns out I'm passive because I HATE being in charge of things and "screwing up". I don't mind if someone else chooses a restaurant to go to and it's madly busy or the service is horrible. I'm usually the first to say "not your fault" or "this is fine, we can still have fun!" But when it's my choice that led us here, I get... Weird. I get defensive of myself, ready to jump on any perceived blame at me. Commenting on the poor service? It's not my fault! Commenting on the bad food. I swear it was better when I was last here!!!
Lately I've been stepping up more. I'm nearly 26 and I've been... Forging an identity of sorts. For what feels like the first time. It's fine when it's things only I involve myself in, but trips and plans are so hard because my ever-pessimistic wife can be negative and that wrecks me if I was even a little involved in something she's complaining about. I get short, and grumpy, and overly defensive because in my head she may as well be screaming that I'm incompetent and a failure and that I can't be trusted to do anything. I've been trying to learn gardening, and have lost so many plants. She mentions ANYTHING about, say, how many I've bought and I internalize it as her saying I'm a huge failure who should just give up because it's a waste of time and money. In this example, I blew up at her and finally came out with what I thought she thought of me, and that her commenting on our "many plants" to our friends was somehow her pointing out that I suck at gardening. She was pretty horrified that I thought she'd say anything like that, and when I finally looked back through all our interactions about it I realized that my stupid internal voice had warped it into a negative when she was, quite literally, teasing me about buying so many plants and that she had NEVER commented on losing any.
The other day, I also realized that I had gotten short with her over how difficult it'd been for me to design a character for a ttrpg we'd been planning to start, using a new system I wasn't familiar with (and being the last player I'm holding everything up, which makes it worse). She asked what was up and when I told her I'd been struggling with it for weeks she said she had no idea. Of course she didn't, I never told her. When I asked myself why the hell I never tell her when I'm struggling with things, a part of me answered "well because she has ACTUAL problems and you don't." Which really hurts to realize this is how I view myself. No issue I have is serious. No interest or desire or anything. My entire life feels like a childish version, or mockery, of an ACTUAL person's life. Like I believe I'm sitting here, this stupid, ignorant person, playing at being an adult worth time and consideration. But any opinion, interest, desire, or concern IMMEDIATELY trumps mine. Like I'm the placeholder until a real adult shows up and says what's actually important.
Ugh... That really hurt to write out....

2023.06.09 19:13 Grand_Yam_9374 My flirty coworker might be cheating

I (23f) work remotely and about two months ago I met one of my coworkers (29m) (let's call him A) for the first time when we both traveled to a conference. We hit it off immediately and laughed the whole weekend, he invited me to dinner one night and it went great, but no physical contact or anything of that nature. To be honest, A is such an awesome and fun dude that when he invited me to dinner I assumed it was as friends, because I thought there's no way someone like this isn't already in a relationship. A couple days after the event though, he reached out to me through text and we've been texting consistently ever since. There's no other way to say it, he's been pretty flirty. He offered to gift me his shirt from a band we both like, he asks me questions nonstop and gives me compliments. In a lot of cases, he double texts and brings up new topics, which to me pretty clearly signifies that he wants to keep talking to me. A lives in my country but pretty far away, and in two weeks he's traveling to a city near the town where I live and asked me to go and meet up. I said yes. We're not staying in the same place (we're both staying with friends) but there's sort of a mutual understanding that we'll spend most of the time together. We've both expressed over text how much we're looking forward to this.
Here comes the kicker: This morning I was talking to another coworker who also attended the conference and the topic of expensive restaurants came up, and my coworker mentioned that A loves taking his girlfriend to expensive restaurants. Woah. I asked him when A told him this, and he said A mentioned it during the conference we all went to, and apparently he's talked about his girlfriend in other occasions too. To be honest, apart from the fact that I feel like total crap because I really like this dude and had gotten my hopes up, I have no clue how to proceed. It could be the case that they broke up since the conference, but the timing seems really weird and during our text convos we've talked about past relationships and breakups and he didn’t say he went through a recent breakup. He seems like such a good and honest dude that I started thinking that maybe I misread everything and he just wants to be friends (he's never specifically said he wants anything romantic with me), and I know you can misread things over text, but if you're talking consistently with someone AND going to meet up with them wouldn't you bring up your SO?? I realize that he could also be in an open relationship or is just straight up cheating, both of which cases I have absolutely NO intention of being a part of. I know I have to bring this up somehow before we see each other, but I have no idea how. Im also very worried that I did misread the whole thing, and he was just being friendly, and me bringing this up will probably make it very awkward for future work events.

2023.06.09 18:36 Forsaken-State-7022 Victim of ID theft & Fraudulent CC app. Now I'm liable???

TLDR; Credit card issuer determined I am *not* the victim of fraud and I am liable to pay back $4,000 of charges I didn't make. What should I be preparing for in my appeal? I am in a bizarre situation of needing to prove my innocence, with my credit score and $4,000 on the line!
I was the victim of identity theft and CC theft. One of my credit cards was stolen (cloned?) and used at a restaurant. That credit card was immediately closed down and a new one was issued. I am not liable to pay for those charges.
Then, somebody opened a store credit card at Best Buy and racked up nearly $4,000 worth of purchases over a 3 day period.
Coincidentally, since I have a Best Buy account I began getting sales receipts emailed to me. I also received a credit alert almost immediately. Here's what I did next:
1) I immediately called the Best Buy Credit Card. They flagged the charges as fraudulent and marked the credit application as fraudulent and closed the account.
2) I went to IdentityTheft.gov and followed the steps. I now have a fraud alert currently on my credit report.
3) I called my local police and filed a police report. The officer wasn't that engaged but did take my information and my story and took hardcopy printouts of the receipts that were emailed to me. He mentioned that "maybe they could pull camera footage". No idea if they did.
Best buy sent me a letter saying they have determined that the credit application was NOT fraud and that I, in fact, made the purchases. I called the credit card and spoke to a person who read the results of their investigation: The address of the credit card application matches MY address and the purchases were made in my home city. Therefore, it is determined that I applied for the credit card and made the purchases. The cased is marked as closed.
The Credit Card Rep took the police report number and re-opened the case. Assuming the police report won't contain any information beyond what I already gave, does that actually carry any more weight? Is there anything else I should be doing. I am in a bizarre situation of needing to prove my innocence, with my credit score and $4,000 on the line!

2023.06.09 18:24 Seahorse_12 I (M30) took part in a paid study at my local university that studied the affects of diets on abdominal weight gain. I’ve put on over 115 pounds in 1.5 years. I’m seeing my parents(M67, F61) & siblings for the 1st time this weekend and they have no idea I look like this now. How to handle the shock?

HERE are some pictures and videos taken by me or others over the course of the last year and a half. THIS is me this week at my current size (273 pounds) ahead of seeing my family this weekend.
My local university was conducting a medical study on the affects of different diets on weight gain. I signed up and was chosen and the potential money to be made was very appealing. The first two months of the study involved simply eating at a calorie surplus on a premade diet to see how it affected my body’s weight gain. After taking measurements after these initial two months, if my body’s measurements represented any kind of high percentile outlier, I would be selected to potentially continue for the entire 1.5 year study focused on a particular area of the body. Of all of the participants, my abdominal girth was at the highest percentile ratio of girth compared to weight/height, so they selected me to participate focusing on abdominal weight gain and to see how severe it could be.
They paid me about $3,000 a month and had all of my food paid for as I followed a specific premade diet plan that changed every 2 or 3 months to study the affects these specific diets had. Some were dairy heavy, carb heavy, specific types of meats only, mixing in alcohol consumption, specific supplements, etc. I’m incredibly busy in my life with work right now and having a free premade meal plan plus so much extra cash was too good to pass up. So I decided to continue for the entire 1.5 year study.
Fast forward to now, having finished the entire trial, I am starting to have some serious regrets. I’ve put on nearly 115 pounds since last January and I never expected the results to have me looking like this. Honestly, I think even the researchers themselves were really shocked by my result. My ratio of abdominal girth to height/weight is at the highest percentile of the study, their entire student body, and anyone who has participated in the study before. I gained most all of the weight in my torso, which they are severely attributing to genetics and simply the effectiveness of the tailored diets they had me following.
I obviously look ridiculous now. I haven’t even been able to keep up with buying a new professional wardrobe for work (as you can tell my the pictures and videos linked). I was gaining an average of 7 pounds a month, some months being just 3 pounds and some being an entire 15 pounds in a month. So many things are difficult… I break a sweat going up one flight of stairs, I can hardly put my shoes or socks on, fitting into restaurant booths is nearly impossible, getting in and out of my car or off the couch takes preparation. People stare at me in stores or on the street. I had a homeless guy ask me “Jesus Christ, what the fuck? Are you pregnant, dude?” once. My coworkers are polite but make comments here and there.
I haven’t seen my family since early in the study when the weight gain wasn’t very noticeable. I’m seeing them in this weekend for a reunion, and I cannot even imagine what they are going to say. I didn’t tell them I took part in this because I knew they wouldn’t approve, but now I wish I had because how am I going to prepare them or explain to them why I look like this now and how it happened so fast. They are all very fit and stay in good shape and even my siblings partners are all in good shape. I was always slim before this and they make comments if I ever even fluctuated a little bit in weight before. I’m worried to fit on the plane on the way there and having to travel. I’m so nervous to see them. And honestly would like any genuine opinions of whether or not I’m blowing this out of proportion or if they are genuinely going to be shocked. Maybe I can hide it better if I find the right clothing. What do you recommend I do? Tell them ahead of time? Be honest with how it happened? Just pretend everything is ok? Will they bring it up? Can I hide it somehow?
This is me going into work today, leaving midday to fly home. I probably will have to wear this or something similar. This is one of the biggest shirts I have, and it didn’t fit too poorly just a couple months ago. I did find a couple shirts that fit decently but I will be there for awhile and will have to opt to some of these. I feel ridiculous. Be honest - is this really as awful looking as I think it is? Like, if you were my brother or sister, what would you say?
TLDR: I’ve gained a ton of weight doing a medical study at a local university and my family has no idea I’ve participated nor that I look like this now. I’m seeing them this weekend and also going to a family reunion. How do you recommend I can best handle with the shock of looking like I do now? Should I tell them ahead of time and be honest, even if I think they will judge me for having taken part?

2023.06.09 18:21 KaleleBoo Food “FOMO”

I’d like to know that I’m not alone in feeling something that I refer to as “food FOMO”
FOMO = Fear of missing out
I find that it would manifest in a two main ways:
At restaurants, I would want to order as much food as possible- not because I was super hungry, but because I didn’t want to miss out on eating something that sounded really good.
I’m social situations, I would over eat even if I wasn’t hungry because I didn’t want to miss out on that specific part of the social experience.
I hope this description makes sense and that I’m not the only one who experiences this.
All that to say, my food FOMO has gone away almost entirely since starting .25 Semaglutide 4 days ago. While, yes, my physical appetite has decreased, I realize that a lot of my overeating behaviors were due to my “mental appetite”, which is nearly nonexistent now.
I just walked over to some food trucks with some colleagues for lunch and watched them order and eat food that looked (and smelled) really good. However, I had just eaten my packed lunch. I wasn’t hungry, therefore I didn’t eat. It was that simple. 5 days ago, I would have ordered food anyways- probably multiple items from multiple food trucks, that way I didn’t feel like I was missing out on 1. The delicious food and 2. The social interaction.
Can anyone relate?

Why to List Education on a Resume is Important
While people make work experience the central focus of their resumes, education on a resume is important because it helps the recruiter understand what kind of knowledge you possess. Dedicating four or more years to the pursuit of a particular set of skills should definitely be highlighted.
https://preview.redd.it/eldtryaon05b1.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=bacdf3a8e6d7cc2e670454c330a59409aab2b685
Another reason why education on a resume is important is that it also shows your interests and areas where you may be able to bring a vital fresh perspective, even if it is not immediately clear how the education is directly related to the kind of jobs you are applying for.
The last reason why education on a resume is important is because it shows your ability to stick with something, manage competing tasks, and (hopefully) satisfactorily complete work on time.
Tips for the Education Section of Resume
Before we get into the specifics, we thought we'd give you some general tips on the education section of resumes. Above all, you have to put yourself in the position of the person looking through your application. They may have 500 different resumes to get through, which means your resume's education section needs to be as clear and easy to scan as possible. Here are 5 quick tips you can use for listing education on resumes.
https://preview.redd.it/9ot50kdvn05b1.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=c413519774e9cca25000e3856c7e137764450aa8
Use subsections - If you have lots of information, break it up into different sections, including the course or degree itself, and then things like "Awards," "Extra-Curricular Activities," and "Professional Development."
Give specifics related to the jobs you are applying for - Include (or make more prominent) details relevant to the sector you are hoping to work in. For example, while in most cases you will put your university name first, the sub-college, such as "School of Hospitality," may be listed first if you are going for hospitality jobs.
GPA is not required - If you received a stellar GPA, you might want to include it, but otherwise, it is unnecessary. Once you have work experience to list, the education section should be made smaller, and you can remove the GPA altogether.
Forget high school - If you are doing your college degree, this should take prominence, but you should include your GPA or GED if high school is your highest degree.
Be truthful - Employers can check your transcript, and if you get to the interview stage, you will most likely ask you more about the information you've given. Getting caught in a lie will sink your chances. So include in your CV only relevant skills, study abroad programs if you took part in any, your work history (if you have) and some extracurricular activities.
Where Should Education Go in a Resume
There is no one answer to the question of where education should go on a resume. It depends on several factors, such as the level of education attained, the relevance of the educational qualifications to the job being applied for, and the amount of work experience the applicant has.
In general, however, most people tend to list their education near the top of their resumes, below their personal information, and before their work experience. This is especially true for those who have recently completed their education or who do not have a lot of work experience.
For those with extensive work experience, it may be more appropriate to list their education further down the page after their work history. This is because employers are likely to be more interested in an applicant's work experience than in their education when hiring.
It is also worth noting that some employers may specifically request that applicants list their education in a certain way on their resumes. For example, they may ask for educational qualifications to be listed in reverse chronological order (with the most recent qualifications first) or they may ask for specific details such as grade point averages or class rankings to be included. In such cases, it is important to follow the employer's instructions to ensure that your resume meets their requirements.
What to Include in Your Resume Education Section
https://preview.redd.it/8j3m7902o05b1.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=5ff483fa8317e1ef556733142fe7c957d1fe2bdf
Keeping in mind the points mentioned above, here's what to include in the education section of a resume when you apply for a job. These requirements aren't set in stone but give a general idea of what your education section should look like. This educational experience is often presented in this order to reflect what hiring managers are looking for when scanning education on a resume:
  • Name of your most recent degree: Bachelor of Science (BSc) with a Minor in Politics. Listing your Minor is optional.
  • Name of your school/college: Ohio State University/Harvard University/York University. Include the location even if the name of the school or college seems obvious.
  • Years attended: 2018 - 2021. If you have not yet finished your course, you can write 2018 - present.
  • GPA: 3.69. As stated in the previous section, if your GPA is not extremely impressive or if you have lots of other experience, best to leave this out.
  • Honors: Magna Cum Laude. This is also an optional section.
  • Any other courses, extracurricular activities or educational achievements that are relevant to the job: 1-year exchange program in Gothenburg, Sweden. Exchange programs show your willingness to engage with new experiences and take on challenges that may be out of your comfort zone.
With so much information that can be included, it's sometimes easy to forget that your education still only makes up one part of your resume and is almost always listed underneath work experience, which is often what employers value more; real skill sets you have developed in proper workplace conditions.
Listing Education on Resumes
What about those unique educational situations that are outside of the sections mentioned above? As you can see, listing education on a resume isn't so straightforward.
Unfinished programs - Special programs, even when finished, may not need to be specifically mentioned; however, if you are close to completing a program at a good school that is relevant to the position you are applying for, then add it to your resume education.
High school-related activities - Everyone needs to start somewhere. Unfortunately, it can be hard to fill out a resume when you have little or no work experience; but don't worry! You still have the chance to display what you have to offer with any relevant coursework, extra-curricular activities, or hobbies that demonstrate your work ethic and areas of interest on the education section of your resume.
Certifications - Certifications are a great way to show that you go above and beyond to achieve something your school or current employer doesn't mandate. Remember to not use any jargon or abbreviations that your prospective employer may not understand.
Workshops - It is best to include workshops only if they are directly related to the functions required by a prospective employer. For example, having completed a two-day behavior management workshop would be worth mentioning if you are going for a teacher's job, but not necessarily if you are hoping to work in a restaurant kitchen.
Internships - It is well worth mentioning relevant internships, which are closer to work experience than education. If you have only had one or two previous jobs, an internship is a great way to highlight other professional skills, which employers can scan for.
Job listing - If you have tried working for some organisations or had any part-time job, include them in your CV as well.
How to Format Your Resume Education Section: Few Tips
Now you have your information, how to format education on a resume is the next big question. Having a professional qualification is only half the battle; knowing how to present it is key. Here are four tips:
Spacing - Unless an employer uses recruiting software (which is a whole other topic), HR staff want something they can easily scan. Use spacing that allows information to be taken in easily.
Information brief and clear - No one wants to read your entire life story. Revise your education format on your resume until it is clear and to the point, without any unnecessary details.
Relevant to the types of positions you are applying for - We've said this before, but it's worth mentioning again. A lot of people have 3 or more versions of their CVs, tailored to the jobs they are applying for.
Highest attainment first and the rest in reverse chronological order - You don't need to rank by chronological order as a strict rule. List the highest education on your resume first, then use reverse chronological order for other courses.
An example of College Education on a Resume
If you are currently completing or have completed a degree, you should definitely know how to format college education on a resume. Here's an example:
EDUCATION
B.A. Creative WritingMinor in World MusicUniversity of California, Berkeley2016 - 2020
When putting your education on your resume, you can also choose to put the name of your institution in bold, so it is extremely clear when you apply.
An Example of Education on Resume for a High School Senior
A resume for a high school senior will look like the following example:
EDUCATION
Marsland High School2013 - 20193.56 GPACourses: Mathematics, History, French, Drama
As stated above, a high GPA can be included, as it is here. Also, listing some of your main courses will show your employer what your areas of interest are and give you something to discuss at the interview stage.
Education Section of Resume
Individual sections seem simple enough, but how does it all fit together? Here are some more tips for how to list education on the dedicated resume education section of your resume:
  • List high school education first - You don't need to order by date! Put your biggest academic achievements at the top when listing education on a resume.
  • College education is the most important - If you have completed college and you are a professional graduate with some work experience, it is safe to say that you can remove most, if not all, of the information related to your high school education.
  • The small details matter - Double check your spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and pay attention to formatting. Sometimes there are different ways to present information, for example:
  • You can spell out your degree or use abbreviations - Master of Arts becomes *MA.*‍
  • You can use periods to separate initials - M.A. (optional).
  • You can separate your degree from your major with a comma - MA, Sociology.
As you see, there is more than one way to format your educational experience, but the most important thing is to be consistent.
How to Put Education On Resume as an Experienced Professional
A resume's education section will look different for a professional who has completed more than one degree and has significant work experience. In this case, listing education on a resume comes below work experience. Recruiters will always be more interested in skills gained on the job than your academic career, no matter how impressive sounding.
If you have more than one education, rank these in a hierarchy, with a Ph.D. or Master's first, then Bachelor's degree(s), then other professional courses. Here's a good example of what it can look like:
Ph.D. in Business Administration (MBA) Master's of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) Duke University, Durham, NC
Bachelor's of Science North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC
If you have work experience and multiple degrees, it is best to leave your GPA as hiring managers will prioritize.
How to Put Unfinished Higher Education on Your Resume
If you’re in the process of completing your education or if you’ve recently graduated, you may be wondering how to list your education on your resume. Here are some tips on how to put unfinished higher education on your resume so that you can still highlight your academic achievements and goals.
Start by including the name of the institution where you’re studying or where you studied previously. Include the location of the school, as well as your degree program and expected graduation date. If you’ve already completed some coursework, you can also include details about your GPA and any relevant coursework or projects.
If you’re currently enrolled in a degree program, it’s important to list the number of credits you’ve completed so far. This will give employers an idea of how close you are to finishing your degree. You can also include information about any relevant internships or practicum placements you’ve completed as part of your program.
If you took a break from your studies, or if you’re returning to school after a period of time, be sure to explain this in your resume. You can simply state that you took a “gap year” or mention any other relevant circumstances. Employers will understand that life doesn’t always go according to plan, and they will appreciate your honesty.
Finally, don’t forget to include any relevant extracurricular activities or volunteer experiences that relate to your field of study. These experiences can show employers that you have the skills and knowledge necessary for the job, even if you haven’t yet finished your degree.
By following these tips, you can ensure that your resume accurately reflects your academic background and achievements.
Here are a couple of examples of what the hiring manager wants to see:
Bachelor's of Arts, Cultural Studies North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NCExpected graduation May 2021
Bachelor's of Arts, Cultural Studies North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC2017 - Present
Remember, making sure the recruiter can scan your work is the most important thing.
Key Takeaways
We hope this blog has been helpful when finding out how to list education on a resume. While your work experience section is the most important, for those that don't have so much experience, a strong resume education section, even if it's high school education on your resume, can help showcase your skills and passions to potential employers.

2023.06.09 18:14 Frequent_Tale5253 [Rant] They Can’t Keep Getting Away With This

TL;DR: As a year-long customer with DD, something like $1000+ in orders, I just got my account disabled. Done putting up with this company's BS and shady business practices.
I want to begin by saying I'm a college student in a major city of the US, so the food/restaurant quality around here isn't the greatest. I get it, I really do. But there's something special about DD that seems to amplify these problems. All the time things will be left completely out, and DD does nothing about it. I never refund for stupid things or pretend something's wrong (i.e., hair in food). But it seems like they treat it all the same anyways. I know accounts can get shadowbanned for too many refunds, so a lot of times I'd just bite the bill.
But it just kept getting worse. I started ordering an extra drink anticipating one to be left out (usually the case). Extra sides would be completely forgotten, food would taste like playdoh after waiting for an hour, and stores would have my dasher relay a refund request for items they ran out of. Again, only so many times I can do this, so I just took the charge.
You might say the solution would be to quit ordering from these stores. Except, oh wait, I can't change the location to the actually decent ones. So I guess I'll just stop ordering from this restaurant entirely. Except, oh wait, all the restaurants on DD are like this. I started reporting stores along with my friends because they were so bad at fulfilling orders, and only once did one get temporarily closed (and I'm pretty sure it was for an unrelated reason). I even started ordering from the ghost kitchens just so I could get what I paid for, albeit way overpriced (this is a whole other issue I don't even want to get into).
So, I had to order from restaurants even further away. Guess the couple extra bucks isn't a huge deal, but it still adds up quickly, especially when I'm ordering a couple times a week. I often tip to $5 total, half before and half after delivery, but now I was hitting $5-$6 in tips on the lowest option just because of how far away the food was.
Then there's the lack of reporting from restaurants on DD or some reason. I've waited 3 hours for a pizza before (ordered at 9, arrived past midnight, had to stay up later just to get the food). There was an order pending for an entire hour before it was reported closed. An order that was "being made" ended up cancelled after an hour because of some system malfunction. Again, some of these things are bound to happen eventually, but why am I not finding out about this when 4-5 dashers arrive there and find out? It's a waste of everyone's time, and somehow it still doesn't get fixed.
And, the real kicker, is when orders just don't show up. I've had two orders that were marked as delivered (I had "hand it to me" checked every time until this became a problem), and clearly were not. I live in an apartment complex with reception, and both times I asked they said no one came in with anything. Would check outside, nothing. The latest I've been from a dasher's arrival is two minutes, and, again, I usually tip extra because of things like this. The second time this happened, I saw they had arrived at the building. BEFORE I EVEN GOT DOWN ONE FLIGHT OF STAIRS, the order was marked "delivered" and they were gone. I had to go to live chat at this point because DD stopped auto-refunding me, and they said they'd check with a "specialist team" via email (aka they blew me off). I literally had to order the same thing from the same restaurant while I was chatting with the agent, and they still refused to refund me, as if I just ordered the same thing twice for shits and giggles.
Well, fast forward a couple months to the past week-ish. I moved residences, so I haven't really gone grocery shopping yet. I ordered from Little Caesars, since it's cheap and lasts many meals. Two pizzas (1 pep, 1 saus), breadsticks and italian bread. Stopped ordering drinks because neither location by me ever seemed to have them in stock. What I received was 2 pep pizzas. That's it. Fine, whatever, I did manage to get a credit refund for them screwing it up this time. I used half the credits a couple days later to buy something (thankfully didn't butcher the order). Other half I used yesterday. I ordered from Wendy's, which is usually the only place that actually manages to get my orders right. Two burgers with mayo unchecked on one (other didn't have any). It was part of the "uncheck to remove" option, which btw is a super shitty method of doing things. Because instead of two burgers with everything but mayo, I got the one burger with only mayo and no toppings, and the other burger also with no toppings. I couldn't eat the one burger, and the other one was dry asf (do people really order without at least cheese or a condiment?). Chatted with live support, and he credit refunded me the mayo burger (I hadn't realized yet the other one had no condiments, but it was still edible at least so I just sucked it up).
Now's this morning, just finished a three hour workout and am extremely exhausted. Check the pantry, only thing left to eat is some crackers. I noticed that there's some breakfast places by me, so I hopped on DD for an order rq while I cooled off. After placing the order (or so I thought), I got a notification that all of the sudden my account was locked for review for the next 10 minutes. I was a little peeved because I would've just walked to eat if I knew it was going to take an extra 10 minutes, but I was still tired, so I just let it be. That is, until I got the notification. Your account has been deactivated.
I'm beyond livid right now, and I'm not going to bother calling support because according to others it seems like they just circlejerk you around once your account has been deactivated. I really wish there was a way to protest this app, because it's predatory beyond all belief. It underpays many of its workers, it has zero safety protections, it's fees are completely unnecessary, it relies on guessing for 99% of errors, food is constantly not delivered and restaurants profit off of this, agents are paid damn near nothing to copy and paste messages in live chat, and it hurts local restaurants just as much as it helps them. And the crazy thing is, everyone I know who uses DD knows these things are true, and yet they still manage to profit off everyone else for, basically nothing? I'm dead tired of it, and I really hope something changes. Rant over, fuck DoorDash. I hope their dashers find better work and a competitor runs them into the ground.

2023.06.09 18:12 ImaFireSquid Some thoughts on Asterisk (spoilers)

Asterisk is a kind of mysterious character that we see throughout the story, who asks the player to take pictures of specific main game fighters. We can use what they glean from these fighters to determine what their whole deal is.
First, they want you to find Ken in a construction site in Metro City. This means that they are not Guile, Kimberly, or Luke, since Guile and Luke know where Ken is and Kimberly has been to where Ken works. It also means that they knew where Ken was prior to the events of the comic, and then lost him.
Second, they ask about E Honda, because other clients want to know about Japanese fighters. This is blatant confirmation that Asterisk has not been to metro city. E Honda is not even remotely a secret in Metro City, he runs a giant sumo themed restaurant in the city square across from the arena. This means that Asterisk is likely not traveling very often, because seriously there is probably a website for E Honda's shop.
Next they ask about Ryu, but do not care about who he is, just what he's doing. You send a picture of Ryu meditating at a temple, Asterisk asks no follow up questions.
Lastly, Asterisk asks you to sneak into a laboratory to get a pass key and a disguise to sneak onto a battleship to take a picture of Guile. Asterisk learns the name of the ship and where Guile is. Note that the CERN lab isn't actually up to anything illegal. It's making defense drones and automatic cooking supplies for the US army, which it ships out to their various battleships. I can't actually find anything suspicious about them except that Kimberly is interested in them too, which means that she probably found something related to JP going on there- but JP isn't M Bison. He doesn't seem to be into genetic experimentation, he's legitimately just money laundering with bonus disregard for human life. It's illegal but it's not really science fiction.
So... I think Asterisk is just actually an information broker. Asterisk collects information and then uses it for money or for more information, depending on what they can get. I don't believe that Asterisk is a fighter, and if they are, not one that we know anything about.
In terms of characters with the capacity for this kind of thing:
Asterisk is not Li Fen, because Li Fen is way too much of a foodie to not know about a restaurant very near to where she lives.
Asterisk is not a member of Mad Gear or the Crows because they don't already have information about the tournament in Nayshall.
Asterisk is probably not Rashiid, because Rashiid has been around Ryu for more than 2 seconds definitely knows that Ryu only meditates and punches things.
Asterisk definitely doesn't work for JP or the resistance because Asterisk is willing to divulge where Bosch is, even when it would inconvenience both sides. Asterisk also learns about Juri in London way later and says openly that they don't know.
Asterisk isn't Lily because Lily is an optional encounter that can occur after you meet Asterisk, and her dialogue never changes. Also Asterisk never asks for scenery, they ask for people, and Lily doesn't seem to have that much interest in other fighters. She doesn't recognize Dhalsim at all even though he's been in most tournaments.
So... yeah. I don't think we've met Asterisk yet.

Toyota is offering a glimpse of a future that’s not just carbon neutral, but goes “Beyond Zero”. The automotive giant has just launch the Toyota bZ4X, the first of a global series of battery-electric vehicles, and made an investment of $50 million in a state-of-the-art battery lab in Michigan.

Toyota’s dedication to the Beyond Zero vision

Shinichi Yasui, executive vice president of Toyota Motor North America (TMNA), Research and Development, asserts, “This new investment in our North American R&D operation shows Toyota’s directional shift towards electrification for all.” The “Beyond Zero” vision sees Toyota committed to helping reduce carbon emissions by offering customers a broad array of 15 electrified vehicles to choose from.

Introducing the 2023 Toyota bZ4X

The bZ4X is the leading light in Toyota’s push beyond carbon neutrality. Its key features include an EPA-estimated range rating of up to 252 miles per charge for XLE FWD, available AWD with X-MODE® system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, among others.

bZ4X specifications and data

New automotive battery lab

A significant part of Toyota’s strategy is a new battery lab in Michigan, set to open in 2025. The facility will evaluate and support the development of electric vehicle batteries, enhancing Toyota’s capabilities for electric and electrified vehicles in North America.

Battery lab specifications and data

Conclusion: a future yet to be realized

As Toyota takes the initial steps in advancing toward a sustainable future, critics may argue that the pace of transition isn’t rapid enough. With a market moving swiftly towards electrification, Toyota’s “Beyond Zero” commitment and investments in new technologies, such as the bZ4X and battery lab, represent a positive shift. However, for the automotive giant to truly make an impact in the fight against climate change, it will need to do more than match pace with competitors—it will need to lead the way.

Element 79 Gold Corp. (CSE:ELEM) (OTC:ELMGF) (FSE: 7YS) ("Element 79 Gold", the "Company") announces that, further to its November 17, 2022 release announcing that the Company had entered into a non-binding letter of intent (the “Valdo LOI”) with Valdo Minerals Ltd. (“Valdo”), the parties have mutually agreed to a 60-day extension to the exclusivity period to enter into a definitive agreement for the sale of three properties from its Battle Mountain Portfolio located in the northeastern Nevada, US.
The other terms of the LOI, as announced by the Company on November 17, 2022, remain unchanged.
Proposed Transaction Highlights
  • Valdo to acquire 100% interests and obligation in:
    • The North Mill Creek Project - comprised of 6 unpatented claims located at the margins of the Goat Window in Lander County, Nevada, an exposure of lower plate rocks beneath the Roberts Mountains Thrust, the preferred carbonate host of Carlin-type gold deposits.
    • The Elder Creek Project - comprised of 23 unpatented claims, which cover the historic Elder Creek open-pit mine in Lander County, Nevada, hosted in upper plate rocks where the mine area is believed to represent leakage from the deeper lower plate of the Roberts Mountains Thrust.
    • The Elephant Project - comprised of 197 claims located at the foot of the mine dumps at Nevada Gold Mines' Phoenix operation hosting a covered pediment target with various depths of cover based on the displacement of fault blocks.
  • Valdo to issue 3,750,000 common shares at a deemed price of $0.30 CAD per share representing an aggregate value of CAD 1,125,000.
  • According to the revised exclusivity period, the transaction is expected to close by July 15, 2023.
“As we progressed toward the initial term of the LOI, Valdo expressed a desire for an extension as they finalize their project structuring and capitalization plans,” said James Tworek, Element79 Gold Corp CEO. “Our collaboration with Valdo holds great promise, spurred by their continued interest in how the optioned portfolio synergizes with their other regionally adjacent projects, we are confident that this extension will pave the way for a successful closing and strong Valdo story in the future.”
Element79 Gold’s Battle Mountain Portfolio
The Battle Mountain Portfolio was originally comprised of 15 separate projects totaling over 44,478 acres across 2,203 unpatented claims in five counties: Elko County, Eureka County, Humboldt County, Lander County, and Nye County. Most of the Battle Mountain Portfolio is located within the Battle Mountain Trend, with several projects close to globally reputable gold deposits including Nevada Gold's Cortez Mine.
The Battle Mountain Portfolio is comprised primarily of early-stage projects. While drilling has been completed at some projects, such as Elder Creek (155 holes) and Clover (104 holes), many have only surface sampling and geophysical surveys completed. Of particular note are the Long Peak, Elephant, Elder Creek, North Mill Creek, Clipper, Pipeline South, West Cortez, and Walti Projects, which are interpreted to lie along the northwest trending fault that hosts the high-grade Pipeline deposit, which is included in Nevada Gold's Cortez Mine.
Qualified Person
The technical information in this release has been reviewed and verified by Neil Pettigrew, M.Sc., P. Geo., Director of Element79 Gold and a "qualified person" as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
About Element79 Gold
Element79 Gold is a mining company focused on gold, silver and associated metals and committed to maximizing shareholder value through responsible mining practices and sustainable development of its projects. Element79 Gold's main focus is on two core properties: developing its previously-producing, high-grade gold and silver mine, the Lucero project located in Arequipa, Peru, with the intent to bring it back into production in the near term; and its flagship Maverick Springs Project located in the famous gold mining district of northeastern Nevada, USA, between the Elko and White Pine Counties. Maverick Springs hosts a 43-101-compliant, pit-constrained mineral resource estimate reflecting an inferred resource of 3.71 million ounces of gold equivalent "AuEq" at a grade of 0.92 g/t AuEq (0.34 g/t Au and 43.4 g/t Ag) with an effective date of October 19, 2022. The acquisition of the Maverick Springs Project also included a portfolio of 15 properties along the Battle Mountain trend in Nevada, which are non-core to its primary business focus. In British Columbia, Element79 Gold has executed a Letter of Intent and funded a drilling program to acquire a private company that holds the option to 100% interest of the Snowbird High-Grade Gold Project, which consists of 10 mineral claims located in Central British Columbia, approximately 20km west of Fort St. James. The Company also has an option to acquire a 100% interest in the Dale Property, 90 unpatented mining claims located approximately 100 km southwest of Timmins, Ontario, Canada in the Timmins Mining Division, Dale Township. The Company is analyzing the non-core Nevada projects, The Dale Property and Snowbird Property for further merit of exploration, sale or spin-out.

2023.06.09 17:25 Comfortable_Plant667 Passage of time seems off

Maybe kind of a basic complaint, but I de-tasked all my farmers during a winter and set them all to chopping trees 18 squares away from their residences. It took them a month to travel on foot over the 18 squares to the trees, then suddenly the weather turned hostile and they all went home. Similarly, a trade wagon takes two months to travel from the edge of my fog of war to the trading post that is near the center of my township. That just seems not 'correct' or realistic may be the better word for it. When I watch my tradespeople working in the trading post, it can take them 5 days just to grab a stack of pots from the nearly adjacent storehouse. Just seems the days should last a little longer than they currently do.
