Hi all. I’m just looking for your opinions on this before I contact my GI ( I have an appointment with them next week).
I’ve been taking mesalamine on it’s own since January (after a long dose of steroids). I take 4g daily. Since then, I would say I experience blood + mucus at least on one occasion per week. Sometimes it’s every BM every day or every second day ( which it is currently). I have about 3-5 BM a day ( which is my lowest).
I am having doubts that this medicine is effective on its own. While the symptoms are not debilitating and are by no means anywhere near the severity of my first flare at the time of diagnosis, I’m still worried. In February ( my last appt.) I mentioned my concerns, and the doc said he would still leave me on mesalamine until July!! So I just left it because I thought hey he knows best! But now I’m worried that this is still ongoing inflammation which is damaging my colon and putting me at risk of other serious illnesses.
I just feel conflicted because the symptoms are not very debilitating but still very much present. Like I have not had a proper flare up in months but it’s just constant on & off symptoms. Am I crazy to beg for stronger medicine ( ie a biologic)?

So I've been wanting to upgrade my pc, specifically my CPU and motherboard. Right now I am running an Intel Core i7-8700k and a MSI MPG Z390. I want to upgrade but at a budget of like $400-$500, with pc upgrades I doubt I'd get anything nice. If you guys can save me a bit more money that would help a lot! I want to save some more money so that way I can potentially upgrade my GPU as well in the near future! Thanks in advanced!!

First off I’ve been taking Viibryd for over 3 or 4 months which while not approved for anxiety is basically an SSRI + buspar comboned, so a lot of people say it helps. Also, I exercise. Now that that’s out of the way….
For the last 2 weeks I have been experiencing stretches of time throughout the day in which I feel an insane combination of anxiety, stress and dread. Lasts about 1 -3 hours I think. During these times I feel utterly hopeless and overwhelmed. I get an adrenaline rush from all the emotions so even if Ive been tired I’ll be pacing around my house with no problem or fatigue. I nearly cried multiple times today which is very unusual for me-I literally almost couldn’t hold my tears in. My eyes got watery but luckily I was able to stop myself from having a huge crying spell (didn’t want a whole thing to start with my family being worried bc I’m crying).
It’s to the point where during these times I have been feeling very strong urges to engage in a self-harming behavior I used to in the past. These feelings got very intense today / have actually been getting worse, but I’ve managed to control myself so I don’t need medical advice or consultation with this, and I already have a therapist / see a nurse practitioner.
But here’s the weird thing, this eventually ends and I’m later able to think about the problems that triggered me earlier except during these times im not freaking the fuck out.
This would all be fine if it wasn’t for the fact that what I’ve been describing has been happening in cycles throughout the day, meaning I am going to experience all this AGAIN and AGAIN
What should I do??? I was experiencing the same thing several months ago for like a month and a half but figured it was just me adjusting to the Viibryd. I guess it’s not :( , my sleep hasn’t been good recently so that’s probably having an impact as well, could be a coincidence but during that other time i experienced this my sleep wasn’t good either. That said, I’ve been a bit more stressed and yesterday something really stressful happened so my mind / body does not want to sleep even though I’ve been experiencing some fatigue- I’m also waking up SO MUCH. This also might be a coincidence but my sister said recently everything has been offending me / that I have been having an attitude, I can’t tell what’s “me” and what’s not though to be able to assess whether she’s right or if I’ve just been expressing myself more, but I do know I’ve had some irritability lately so she could be right

We have employed a full-time helper in Hong Kong for the past couple year. We aren’t new to having one as we lived in SE Asia before where they are common but this is the first time with one here and one from the Philippines.
The major challenge we are having is she doesn’t seem to listen to my wife, who is also from SE Asia though another country. My wife will tell her to do things and she will do them, but often half-heartedly or she will change and do something her own way as she thinks it’s better.
When I come home and ask the helper to do something she does it right away. She rarely speaks to me and seems afraid of me even though I speak normally to her. The only thing I can think of is that she is around my wife so often she has lost this sort of fearespect. Maybe a cultural thing.
Reoccurring issues we have had include:

• Taking breaks and naps through the day but pretending to work
  
• If we are not home she works at a snail’s pace and spends a lot of time on her phone
  
• We pay her a meal allowance but she keeps taking our food too even after reminding her not to
  
• She is quite careless with things when cleaning and has broken several items, usually not telling us until we discover it broken
  
• The walls have marks and the vacuum which is less than a year old has lots of small dents and scratches. When my wife pointed it out to her she claimed she didn’t do it, even though she is the only one using the vacuum
  
• It seems like she borrowed money a few months ago and she was being hounded by people asking her to pay something
  
• Often asking for advances on salary
  
• We learned that helpers in the building were stealing clothing from a donation bin used for orphaned children. My wife found a large bag of assorted kids clothes that our helper had on her- she said she had bought it from another helper but we wonder if she is also stealing.
  
• Often throws things away without asking. Usually small stuff but has been some of our kid’s toys. She has a kid at home and we wonder if she sent them home.
  

I posted about some of these things on a helper forum on Facebook and nearly all of the responses were from other helpers saying we should be grateful for having a helper and making accusations that her behavior was caused by us, or it wasn’t true.
I asked friends and some said all helpers are like this, especially those from the Philippines. Our local friends said we need to discipline and shout at them if they are not following instructions. But that’s just not my wife’s personality, which may be part of the issue here.
In comparison we are still in contact with our old helper from Myanmar who we used before moving to Hong Kong. She was kind, proactive, and showed genuine care for us as a family. There were mistakes and miscommunications but we felt she listened. We have spoken about bringing her to HK but I’m not sure she would be happy to live here.
This has turned into a rant, I’m sorry. I guess I just wanted to know if this sort of behavior can be expected here in HK from helpers like my friends said or if it’s more a matter of individual personalities.

Hello, hope you are having a great day, I am Sal 41 Male who work in 3D art and game dev, despite my age and work, I am just another lonely guy who is looking for companionship, I have been spending a lot of time on my computer working and having fun, so I started getting worried that I am in a relationship with this computer haha.
