2023.06.06 15:01 Bsnipexy Change of the partner's heart hurts like a truck
My girlfriend (22F) and I (22M) broke up very recently.
We had been together for almost 2 years.I am disabled and I do not have the easiest time finding a partner (she did say that the break up has nothing to do witht the disability). This was the first relationship in which I was constantly completely happy in the relationship, and so was she from the ways she acted and from everything that we talked about, always smiling always saying she loves me and we have always had a great time.We communicated through every problem because we're both very rational and objective towards everything... It really showed me (no offense to anyone) that there are smart, rational and funny people in the world.Since the first few months of the relationship I started feeling that she is the one, and from all the talks about the future, she did too.I helped her through a quite a lot of stuff and have helped her with all my being to become the person that she is today, she was here for me if I ever needed anything aswell.
But she started "hiding" (from me) the fact that the last 4 months of the relationship she as a person and her feelings for me have been shifting in such a way that she does not feel like I am the one for her anymore and that she was not truly happy. She told me this on the day of the break up which was very recently.Up until the last two weeks of the relationship she acted as if everything was still great not showing any "negative/other" feelings nor communicating about them. The last week of the relationship she told me that we need to talk next weekend. At the day of the talk she told me that she wants to break up and that she as a person and her feelings for me have just... changed. That I am not the one for her and that she is looking for something/someone else. I asked her what/who that is, but she said that she is not sure yet.
I completely understand that nobody is able to do anything about stuff like this, where the one's heart knows what it wants and that it knows that the current person is not it. I definitely will not ever force anything with her. I also understand that we are not coming back together.
We are currently taking some time away from eachother and have stayed in very friendly terms. It just feels, so very hard. This great relationship just snapped in one day for me and I couldn't and will not ever be able to do anything about changing her heart. I feel so sad and helpless about it. Horrible feeling which I have not felt in past break ups, probably one of the worst feelings I've felt since the unfortunate passing of my close ones. It really did hit me like a truck and it hurts so really much. Every girl I see reminds me of her, I open her last messages every morning and read them all over again, I look at our pictures together everyday. I have to stop doing it but I can't... If I do post anything on instagram I just wait for her to like the story and I reopen instagram every hour hoping that I'd see any notifications from her. I know that all of these things are not healthy things to do after the break up because it holds you chained to the other person mentally and does not allow you to heal but I don't have the strength to help it yet.
I understand that I just need to let go and let the time do it's thing. I understand that we obviously were not destined to be, otherwise this would not have happened. I am waiting for my strength to regain so I can start working on myself for the next few months. I talk to my friends but they don't have all day just to support me so I guess thats why I'm posting this here, hoping to hear some kind words and some good life advice.
But even though both of us had our weaknesses, we worked together and every moment felt so great for such a long darn time, god damn it. I want to cry so hard but I haven't any tears.
Thank you people of the internet.

2023.06.06 14:07 Jackviator The Spacer’s Guide to Caring For Your Pet Human (Part 20)
<<
FIRST <
PREVIOUS Hello, spacers!
On this episode, the group takes a stab at historical reenactments, the author takes some… “
subtle” comedic jabs at certain contemporary events, and we find out where they’ve been hoarding the post-apocalyptic Twinkies.™
As always, I hope you enjoy. :)
——
As the group exited the Air Force base and began heading towards their destination, Kate looked at the surroundings as they walked. The area looked relatively untouched by the chaos of the past few weeks. The only evidence of it was an enormous pillar of smoke in the distance.
As Jack noticed Kate and a few others in the group staring at it, he nodded in understanding.
“That’s downtown Saint Paul, or at least the remains of it. From what we’ve been able to gather, the nuke we couldn’t stop in time exploded almost directly above the Capitol building. We only managed to put out the last of the fires in what little remains of downtown earlier today.”
“…How many people-“
Anticipating the question, Jack cut her off.
“We don’t know. …We may
never know. We can only speculate.”
Kate’s face fell.
“Yeah, I figured that’d be the answer…”
Kate remained morosely silent as they approached the fort. Jack turned to address the crowd.
“Welcome to historic Fort Snelling. …Well, historic to us humans, anyway. Having a fort two centuries old is probably chump change to all of you from a time perspective, eh?”
Kate’s brow furrowed in confusion as she looked up at the stone walls of the fort, its stone tower chock-full of early-1800’s firearm loopholes meant for muskets.
“Wait, what?! …When they said we were going to “Fort Snelling,” I figured it’d be an active military base. Why’re we using a historic site…?”
Jack chuckled.
“It wasn’t actually the military’s decision to do that. A couple days after the bombs fell, a group of survivors moved into the fort. When questioned, I believe the leader of the initial group was quoted as saying “EMPs can’t knock out a big damn wall.” She was right; the stone walls of the fort are a great deterrent to looters and other kinds of people looking for trouble, and it’s easily defensible. Given that we obviously had
way bigger things to worry about at the time, we just let them be.
Then, as more and more people showed up to our Air Force base looking for help, we decided the fort would make a good site for a refugee camp. The original group didn’t object; they actually welcomed the security having others around brought, especially once we started the organized armed patrols a few days ago.”
Y’ggdrasog piped up from beside Kate, a bit of indignation in his tone.
<“That’s all well and good, but what about respecting its historic significance? …Preserving the past, and all that?”>
“Relax. The only truly historic things here are a few of the buildings. The vast majority of what was on display inside said buildings- antique-looking tin cups, butter churns, muskets, that sort of thing- were just modern-made replicas, to give visitors an idea of what the fort used to look like back when it was still in use.
…We’ve actually thrown the vast majority of that junk into those “assimilator” thingies you Collective types brought along with you. It was either that, or burn them to keep warm. …Way I figure it, we can always just make more fake “historic” tchotchkes when we’re not fighting for the survival of our species, eh?”
Y’ggdrasog crossed his arms, and while he was clearly still unhappy about it, relented.
<“…Alright, fair enough...”>
As the group finally passed through the fort’s front gate, Kate could see a veritable sea of tents in the center of the area. They had passed plenty of tents on the way there in parking lots, boulevards and so on, but not nearly to this level of density.
Kate marveled at the sight, leaning toward Y’ggdrasog to murmur.
“People must have fought to get placed in here until there was literally no room left, and the tents were packed in like sardines.”
Y’ggdrasog gave her a quizzical look.
<“…What’s a “sardine?””>
“It's just a- …nevermind, it’s not important…”
Migtryl began to speak as the rest of the group filed through the gate.
<“Here and a few spots outside the fort are where you’ll be working for the most part. We reserved several tents for you to use both in and outside the fort, customized with your biologies in mind. I’ll start by giving you all a tour of the premises, so you can familiarize yourself with the different areas you might be needed.
…Starting off, over there you’ll see the impromptu medical center we’ve constructed. If you have any prior medical experience in your work history, you will be placed there. Next, we’ll be moving to…”>
Migtryl began walking off, talking and occasionally pointing with a wing or leg as they went and the group trailed behind them. As Kate tried her best to keep pace with Y’ggdrasog’s long strides, she could see that the crowds of humans inside the fort were parting like a sea around them, just like they behaved at the runway. Many looked at them with fear in their eyes, others with disgusted sneers.
Kate’s shoulders slumped as she finally realized:
Almost no one trusts them yet. She was so lost in thought over the implications of this that she bumped into Y’ggdrasog, who had abruptly stopped walking. She glanced up at him to see him staring toward a group of humans near the edge of the medical center. His glow was crimson, his eyes haunted. She followed his gaze to see-
Her eyes widened.
Oh no… The man he was staring at lay on a cot under an improvised tarp-tent. They were being tended to by several medical personnel (both human and alien) that were changing the bandages covering their body, and little wonder; they were absolutely
covered in burns.
Before Kate could think of what to do to help her friend, she saw J’Ffrane almost literally materialize between Y’ggdrasog and the bandaged burn victim. Their voice was warm and soothing as they spoke.
<“Feel this moment, accept it, then let it pass. Remember? …Don’t let yourself drown in it.”>
It was like Y’ggdrasog was awakened from a dream as he blinked a few times and glanced at J’Ffrane.
<“Y-yes, I- …I remember...”>
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, slowly letting it out in a shaky exhale as he turned to Kate, opening his eyes once more to meet her concerned gaze.
<“Come on, let’s not fall too far behind.”>
“…Are you alright?”
Y’ggdrasog gave her a weak smile, though the crimson of his stressful glow remained.
<“Of course I’m not. …But that’s not going to stop me from helping your people.”>
He took one last glance at the burn victim before turning and setting off once more towards the tour group.
J’Ffrane gave an approving nod as he walked away, leaning towards Kate and whispering.
<“He’s come so far... Half a cycle ago, he likely would have been nearly catatonic for the rest of the day.”>
Despite the encouraging words, Kate’s shoulders fell as she started walking after Y’ggdrasog.
“I should have thought of this... There have to be thousands- no, tens of thousands, maybe even
six figures worth of burn victims from the bombs, in these two cities alone!”
<“And we will be with him to hold out a limb to grasp when he needs it. Just as he and I will be there for you, and you two for I, should the need arise.”>
Kate looked up at J’Ffrane, surprised.
“How would we help you?”
J’Ffrane smiled down at her.
<“You already have.
Every person who asks for my assistance helps me immensely just by doing so. It helps me remember that I have a place in the world, and that place is giving the help they so desperately need. …Now then, let’s catch back up to the crowd and find out how we can best do that here, hm?”>
And with that, J’Ffrane’s dissipated as they flew forward towards Y’ggdrasog and the rest of the group trailing along behind Migtryl.
“Hey, wait up!”
——
Despite the brief interruption, Kate hadn’t missed much by the time she caught back up, and she was soon learning more and more of the facilities and service centers the Collective had constructed around the fort.
While the local military stationed in the fort were (rather fittingly) occupying the fort’s centuries-old barracks, they were actually the main supplier of the vast majority of the tents around the compound.
“More tents are being constructed every day for use in the surrounding area,” said Jack. “We ran our own supply of military-grade tents dry a few days ago, but we’ve been able to scavenge more from places like camping supply stores, alongside manufacturing our own from tarps and the like. Not exactly comfortable to live in, but we have to take what we can get.”
Kate put her good hand up to ask a question, shivering a bit as she did so in the crisp, late-autumn air.
“How well do they retain heat in all this cold?”
“A very good question. Normally it would be quite the problem, doubly so given just how damned cold Minnesota can get in fall weather alone. Luckily, however, the Collective came up with a solution. …Migtryl?”
<“We used a few of the fabricators we have at our disposal to create personal solar-powered heating units to heat each tent. …It’s a bit inefficient given the cloud cover, but on even the cloudiest of days they’re able to achieve over 150% of the solar exposure needed to get a full, week-long charge in a matter of hours.”>
Jack chimed in with a smile.
“It certainly beats the bonfires we filled with whatever we could lay our hands on to burn before you all got here, that’s for sure!”
From there, they moved on to the camp’s utilities.
As the water purification plants of the area had been rendered mostly inoperable by the EMPs and cyberwarfare attacks, the Collective had repurposed a few industrial sump pumps to direct water from the Mississippi River into an assimilator system. The assimilator broke it down and removed all the pollutants in the river water until all that remained was potable water, and distributed to locals to drink-
<“…or at least, to those who don’t refuse to drink it, that is.”> Migtryl said.
An alien of a species Kate didn’t recognize (one that almost resembled a snake if not for their arms and upright stature, who was strapped to a mechanical walker to get around the terrain) piped up, beating her to the punch.
<“Why
wouldn’t they drink it?”>
Migtryl paused, glancing at Jack and weighing their words carefully before speaking.
<“…A small, but nonetheless
very vocal portion of the local population seem to be under the mistaken impression we’re putting chemicals, nanites and so on in the water to do things such as influence their actions, up to and including controlling their sexuality, for some reason. …Anyway, such people often choose to simply boil and drink water taken directly from the river itself, instead of taking the purified water rations we offer.”>
In contrast to the shocked and horrified reactions of the aliens around her, Kate merely sighed and rolled her eyes.
Yeah, that sounds about right… Another alien, this time a kentzaré, timidly raised one of their manipulation tendrils.
<“...Have many people gotten sick from doing that?”>
<“Unfortunately, yes. Even boiling the water sometimes wasn’t enough to prevent many such individuals from developing symptoms of several waterborne-based diseases, and that’s not even going into the possible long-term effects of the various pollutants in the water.
We also have individuals here and there who even refuse the fallout-proof masks we offer. …Something about “not using them before, not using them now” and “not living in fear”…?”>
As Kate facepalmed hard enough to leave a handprint mark on her forehead for a minute or two, Migtryl shook his head in frustration.
<“…We must make an effort to always remember that the majority of these people are hurt, scared, and in all likelihood grieving the death of at least one loved one, friend, or what have you. Most do not trust us. We must simply be patient with them, help those willing to receive it, and not give those who are unwilling any further cause for suspicion or hostility. …Now, come along; we have much more to look at.”>
With that, they both turned and began walking towards a long but narrow stone building. As they reached it, Jack turned to the group.
“This is the commissary. It’s where we keep the supplies we distribute to the civilians. It may look small, but looks can be deceiving. …C’mon, let’s step inside. Just remember to dust yourself off first!”
Y’ggdrasog glanced at the door clearly made for human proportions and shook his head, sighing as he turned to Kate.
<“You two go on ahead. I have no desire to work out the kink in my back later from having to be hunched over inside.”>
Kate smiled in amusement as several other taller species of aliens nodded, muttered their agreement and so on.
“Well, sorry on behalf of humanity for us being so short. …Anyway, see you in a bit, Yiggy!”
He winced.
<“…Kate, please, not in front of others…”>
Kate’s smile only widened as she turned and followed J’Ffrane with the rest of the group as they entered the building.
As they descended a set of stairs, Kate was surprised to see that despite its outer appearances, the building went several stories underground. As she descended down the first flight of stairs, a feeling of unease began to eat away at her. Her hairs began to stand on end, goosebumps rising despite the heaters inside the building.
Jack continued his explanation as they continued descending.
“The ground where this building stands was where they initially quarried out a lot of the stone necessary for building the majority of the fort’s walls and buildings back in the 1800’s. When they finished, the line of thinking was “well, we’ve made a really big hole, may as well use it for something.” So they built this commissary to act as a mega-cellar of sorts; it could store enough food to last the initial inhabitants of the fort an entire year.”
As they descended to the final level, Kate looked out across a sizable collection of boxes of various shapes and sizes stacked upon pallets. As she gazed at them, an eerie feeling of familiarity and something being inexplicably, terribly
wrong settled onto her, and she only barely heard Jack continuing to speak.
“Most of the supplies that don’t belong to anyone in particular are either stored here, or wherever we can stuff them in what little free space there is left in the other buildings of the fort. Groups go out every day to scavenge for more food, general supplies, raw materials to put into your “assimilators” to make things like our filtered masks-“
150 spare air filters- <“-as the assimilators and fabricators can only do so much at one time, we scavenge as much food as possible due to most of their time being taken up purifying the polluted water-“>
75 spare half-year water filters- “It’s important to keep track of everything else we store here, so a lot of the work is just tallying everything up. It’s tedious, but very important; we need to know what we have to give those with very specific dietary needs-“
500 cans of spinach, 300 cans of olives, 700 cans of baked beans- “Members of our species still have occasional issues with allergies, diabetes, that sort of thing. I’m told we likely will continue to have those for at least a decade or so before you Collective folks can develop those “immunity implants” necessary to sort them out. …Assuming the average Joe is willing to work with them, when the most advanced tech they had before was-“
3 spare radios, 50 packs of AAA batteries- Kate only just barely managed to drag herself back to the present as she felt J’Ffrane metallic hand gently tugging at her sleeve. She turned to see them wordlessly gazing at her, a concerned expression on their face. Only after their intervention did she notice she had begun to start breathing erratically as Migtryl kept talking.
<“…Beyond moving the supplies where they need to go, the job’s not very physical. For the most part, it’s just counting how much of any one item we have and writing down the results. We usually give the job to people who are injured or otherwise not at their best, but still want to contribute.”>
Migtryl glanced over at Kate, who unbeknownst to him was having a desperate internal struggle to try and keep herself calm.
<“You’d be a perfect fit here, heh!”>
Kate sunk into herself a bit at his words, and found herself wishing she could turn invisible as the group turned to stare at her. Her voice was barely audible as she felt obligated to murmur out a response.
“…I, uh-
pant …d-don’t think that-
pant …would be a good idea…”
Not again, not again… Just stay cool, don’t keep hyperventilating, just move on, just- stop it. Stop stop STOP oh god why can’t I just breathe normally?! Just k-keep cool, just- …OH DON’T YOU START CRYING YOU WORTHLESS BI- She felt the touch of J’Ffrane’s metallic hand on her shoulder, bringing her back to herself.
<“Come on, Stardust; let’s take a walk.”>
Kate hesitantly nodded and let herself be walked away from the group by J’Ffrane’s gentle leading hand, wiping her tears away as she went. Migtryl glanced at Jack, who was staring after the pair, his expression worried.
<“…Was it something I said?”>

2023.06.06 12:32 boutell New US CCS chargers report for May 2023
Here are all of the new US CCS (Level 3 fast-charging) stations that rolled out in May 2023, according to the Department of Energy. These chargers are suitable for most new EVs on the market, except for:
- Tesla drivers who haven't bought the official CCS adapter yet. Certain older Teslas need additional work done to accept the adapter.
- Leaf owners like me, and some owners of older cars that also use CHAdeMO. If you drive a Leaf, or an older CHAdeMO car, see my matching post in leaf.
Some of these chargepoints will be "refreshes," e.g. the provider replaced them with faster chargers etc. Some may be incorrect. This report is only as good as the Alternative Fuels Data Center data.
There were 222 CCS charge points added or refreshed in May 2023, which is up from 171 in April. For comparison, there were only 74 new CCS charge points in May 2022. Things are speeding up.
"What about CCS charging at Tesla superchargers?" Tesla is in the process of rolling out their "magic dock" for non-Tesla cars, but so far in very few locations. If they start doing this at scale and reporting it to the Alternative Fuels Data Center then it will be reflected here.
"What about Ford vehicles with NACS (Tesla) plugs?" They are not on sale yet. Current-generation Ford vehicles have CCS plugs. The next generation will have NACS (Tesla) plugs, but will also support CCS via an adapter.
If you'd like to know about new chargers along your routes right away, or just prefer not to check this list monthly when new openings are rare in your area, I've set up a free service that provides email notifications as soon as they open. You can
sign up at evpov.com. Or not! I don't really have a business plan here, I built it to help EV owners like myself.
To streamline this post, multi-chargepoint locations are listed with the number of chargepoints first, so that's why the post is shorter than in previous months.

2023.06.06 12:22 yerederetaliria Our first date
Intro:
https://www.reddit.com/yandere/comments/142b5vq/irl_yandere_couple_experiences/
I don’t know where to begin. I’m leaving out the six months of me stalking and the events that led up to our first date which are interesting. The IRL request was for our interactions. The date was not natural but orchestrated. This is our first "date." The date was setting him up on my behalf. He was under the impression that he was supporting the campus club we had been attending. I had been stalking him for six months and finally asked for some help.
Jenny and John were a couple and engaged to be married after graduation. They were Srs at Colo St Uni and they were leaders in IVCF, the large campus club Finnian and I attended. They were in charge of parties/activities and they had, with the help of other campuses, organized a St Valentine's Day dance. Jenny was an Education major who liked to play matchmaker and John was a Music major who played DJ in his spare time. Jenny and I were friends, not close, but she was more than willing to help me connect with Finnian. She didn't know I was his stalker and obsessed with him but she found out as our relationship progressed. She and I actually sat down, chatted and put together a plan. John and Finnian were casual friends because he and John shared music interests, specifically classical music. They would chat about all kinds of music. He had lunch with John one day and Jenny tagged along and turned the lunch into an interview and made Finnian promise to attend the dance. Finnian’s wingman, Brad bailed on him at the last moment. We all attended Colo St Uni, Fort Collins, and the dance was held at UNColo, Greeley. The group was carpooling and we met at a central parking lot on campus. Finnian volunteered to drive but Jenny insisted he was to ride with her and John. I had no car and was waiting in their backseat, this was a kind of double date. I believe in “Love at first sight” and “Divine appointments” and I feel we experienced both.
I remember waiting such a long time for Finnian to show and when Jenny saw him she signaled him and I felt my heart would climb out of my chest. I remember that he and Jenny bickered over the fact that he could drive people and she essentially pushed him into the back seat of their Honda Civic. After he sat down he said something to John in the driver's seat who remained silent. I leaned into Finnian and introduced myself. I was very assertive and scooted close to him, extending my hand to shake his and I awkwardly didn't let go of his hand. Finnian remembers that he felt backed up against the door and he was irritated at Brad, Jenny, John, the car, everything but as I leaned in I certainly gave him that uncanny stare because he forgot all about being irritated. He felt confused more than anything. He also remembers shifting me back so he could sit properly and that I just came forward again. So there we were in the back seat of a car on the way to Greeley with a half hour to kill. I was wearing a black Bohemian style dress with lace sleeves fitted at the top. He remembers that I wore amber jewelry because the jewelry accented my eyes which are green with an orange ring and my darker hair and dress made them glimmer. I remember he was nicely dressed, you know, a sports jacket and white shirt. He had this blue metallic tie on that made his eyes even bluer and hair blonder. I also remember at one point taking his arm and he was so tight and firm. He wasn't huge but he was toned. Like I said we had a 1/2 hr talk on the way to UNColo and the conversation happened immediately. We had too many things in common. In fact I'll talk about the set up to the date and conversation another time. The point is that we disappeared into conversation and barely acknowledged our hosts. Of course I continued to traditionally flirt with him by preening, touching him, leaning into him, complimenting him. Most of this was excitement on my part because I could tell we were meant for each other and in that little half an hour ride I was already confirming ideas in my head that we were going to take this to the next level. Remember, I said long term. I have the habit of elevating our relationship so what was a meeting turned into a date and a date turned into exclusive dating then girlfriend then wife. That ride was fantastic and we had a hard time not talking, both of us. I was absolutely floored that he knew conversational Spanish so we entered into bilingual territory on day one (we are now both bilingual).
Understand that we were not on a formal date and that I was just some woman he had met so when we arrived his assumption was, "thanks for the ride, John, I'll find my way around from here." I intercepted him and took him by his arm, I really wanted to walk into the venue with him. I desperately wanted us to be seen together, this has always been important to me. I still do this “I’m his” behavior. I began to completely monopolize his time. I was already starting to be seen as clingy and possessive and we weren’t officially together. He was tolerant and flattered and confused. Unfortunately, I don't remember why but we separated early on in the evening. I found him at a table chatting with a couple of guys he knew. He remembers that one of them was Eric. Eric had flirted with me months before and I clearly had shown no interest in him. I was already stalking Finnian by the time Eric had shown interest in me. I actually have no memory of it and my roommate Audrey later pointed it out to me. I learned my obsession caused me to actually block out people and events. I do not remember what Finnian was talking about or to who or why or any of that but he remembers me constantly interrupting them asking Finnian to dance. He remembers actually asking me if I needed to practice dance with him and that I reacted sorely. He remembers that I would alternate between sitting very very close to him and far away from Eric and me getting up to ask to dance for the next song. He also said that I started holding his hand and tugging on his wrist to get him to the dance floor. He clearly didn't want to dance but I won out when the music changed a little.
I got him to dance with me and he told me that he'll never forget how thrilled I looked and that we started to dance before getting all the way to the floor. He told me that the uncanny look I sometimes flash is often when I am thrilled. I remember that I turned him so he could only see me and not other dancers and not his little group of friends. This worked because we never saw them again until weeks later. This was 1999 and the music was a mixture of 80s and 90s with a mixture of pop, rock, alternative, Christian and rap. John had obviously influenced the DJ to play for this particular crowd. I remember that Finnian really tuned into the music we danced to and he later admitted that it was a "safe" place for him mentally. I do not intend on making him look like he was stupid or naiive it’s just that he had some bad experiences in the past and he was desperately trying to be “in control.” I was alternately smothering and backing off but from this point on I wouldn't let go until later. Neither one of us are great dancers but I was really turned on by how well we danced together. I loved touching him and he was trying so hard to be a gentleman. I also liked to direct his hands where I wanted them. This was me communicating and almost compulsively touching his hands. He remembered that his wrists were sore after that night which means that I was quite grabby. Some songs I wanted his hands on my waist and a few times I specifically directed him to put his hands on my hips. I wanted him to know that I was interested all around romantically in him. We slowed danced and fast danced for most of the night. The man typically leads while dancing but I would periodically resist going in a direction because I was trying to keep us isolated or uninterrupted from others. I do not remember what we talked about other than the songs playing and what to do while dancing. We were pretty much just being physical. At one point
this song was played and I remember he said he liked it. It had a unique theme. This is important because I would use it later in a confession of sorts and it would become one of our songs. We found even more in common like our taste in music which leans towards alternative.
Eventually we both really needed the bathroom and a break so I told him I’d meet him at the punch bowl. He didn’t show and I started frantically searching for him. After a few minutes I saw him outside in a patio garden area. This was a student center. So I followed him outside and he greeted me warmly and he pointed out some stars. We stargazed a little while. He has an interest in astronomy. There were fire pits and somebody was lighting them and we could still hear the music softly. He pointed out the planet Mars and I pretended I couldn’t find it. This was intentional. I wanted him to put his arms around me and point so I could look down his arm and rub up into him. He did that and I responded and when he put his arm down I quickly turned around, pressed into him, stared straight into his eyes. Then I said, “don’t run from me, I love you, I will follow you anywhere under the Milky Way.” Then we leaned into each other and kissed for a very long time. I don’t remember how I actually said the words and neither did he because it was rather dreamlike. He heard what I said and he said the phrase didn’t bother him. The following part didn’t seem serious to him until a week later. I was serious about it. Months later he told me that he made the decision to date me on the patio when he was alone. He thought it through and he felt that there were too many things happening in favor of us. He also told me that the fire from the fire pits made my eyes flash and it was very surreal. We went back inside, slowly danced and found a lonely corner to quietly talk. Eventually, we met Jenny and John near the door and I remember that Finnian was holding my hand. Jenny said that since we are hitting it off so well that tomorrow we can double date and go see an indie band at Avogadro’s Number, a local club. I answered for both of us a little too eagerly. Jenny later told me that he and I were “electric” that night. She also met a friend from UNColo who asked how long we had been dating to which she replied, “first date.” Her friend responded as if Jenny was fibbing. We drove home and we got caught up and started kissing again but we stopped when we heard that Jenny and John noticed. I could barely sleep that night. I was high.

2023.06.06 11:36 amandaguilty Family drama – The murder of Sarah Scazzi (Avetrana, Italy) – 1/2
>>> Second part of the post Avetrana is a small rural town – in beautiful Apulia, overlooking the gulf of Taranto – that comes alive especially during the summer season due to the influx of tourists looking for low-priced accommodation compared to the trendier resorts in the region. In the early 1980s, Avetrana was the site of demonstrations by the anti-nuclear movement in opposition to the desire of the national government to plant a nuclear power plant in the territory, though nowadays if you ask an Italian what is the first thing that comes to their mind when you say “Avetrana”, sadly they will almost certainly think of Sarah Scazzi.
Sarah’s case also arguably represents one of the latest examples of the “dark tourism” that has led hundreds of people to travel to the places where the most heinous crimes in recent Italian history – from the murder of Samuele Lorenzi to that of Meredith Kercher and Chiara Poggi – were committed. In the initial months following Sarah’s disappearance, the media has shone a spotlight on the small town from which Sarah disappeared and on its sometimes strange inhabitants. TV stations “dramatized” the whole affair and turned it almost into a soap opera for their loyal viewers. The lowest point in this story was finally reached when, on October 6, 2010, a reporter broke the news of Sarah’s body’s discovery to her mother on live television. This is how journalist Stefano Nazzi describes what happened in Avetrana in the days following Sarah’s disappearance:
From the end of August 2010 and for many months it became one of the most famous places in Italy. A place where an ugly crime had happened turned into a TV set where all rules were skipped, where reporters competed to grab exclusive interviews with those who perhaps had nothing to say.
It should be noted that – despite the fact that the criminal cases mentioned here have occupied the front pages of newspapers and news programs for a long time – it has become much more difficult in recent years for similar events to be treated so obsessively and morbidly by the mass media. Of course, TV programs that unabashedly eviscerate every aspect of a said murder still exist, but traditional news channels now seem to adhere to more careful guidelines on how to treat crime cases.
The disappearance
On the afternoon of August 26, 2010, at the Carabinieri Station Headquarters in Avetrana, 15-year-old Sarah Scazzi was reported missing, having left home – as her mother Concetta Serrano Spagnolo declared – in the early afternoon to go to the house of her cousin Sabrina Misseri, with whom she was supposed to take a trip to the beach. Sarah had on a pink T-shirt, pink shorts, and flip-flops, carried a black fabric backpack with writing on it, as well as the inseparable cell phone, recently received as a gift from her older brother and which she always held in her hand.
Who was the 15-year-old and what can be said more precisely about the hours surrounding her disappearance? Sarah reportedly had a strong character, was a bit lazy, liked Avril Lavigne and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She suffered from being away from her father and especially her brother, to whom she was very close (the two men were working in Milan at the time of the incident). She probably resented her mother’s strictness and saw her cousin Sabrina’s family as a safe haven, to the point of asking to be “adopted” by her aunt Cosima Serrano and her uncle Michele Misseri (at least this is what Cosima and Sabrina will say later).
Concerning what happened in the hours around Sarah’s disappearance, her mother Concetta reported that Sarah had left the house around 9 am; she had returned briefly during the course of the morning to get some money needed to buy some cream on behalf of her cousin Sabrina, and then she had gone home to go, almost immediately, in the company of her father to do the groceries around 12:30 pm; the two had returned home shortly before 1 pm. What happened next is a point of contention, but the most likely conclusion is that Sarah left her house to go to the Misseris between 1:55 pm and 2:00 pm – as indicated by Sarah’s housekeeper Maria Ecaterina Pantir – lying to her mother by saying that she had received Sabrina’s message telling her to go to her house.
Then, at 2:23 pm, Sabrina received a text message from her friend Mariangela Spagnoletti (“[give me] the time to put on the costume and I’m coming”) and immediately afterward notified her cousin (2:25:08 text message from Sabrina to Sarah “put on the costume fast and come”). Sarah, who had no cell phone credit, answered with a ring at 2:28:46 – this is her last alleged communication.
In an email sent to the editor of a local magazine in late August and made public in early September, psychic Rosemary Laboragine wrote:
I see a house but also a kind of garage. I don’t know, unfortunately I have a feeling of death. I feel her buried in the nearby countryside. I see wood and water.
The investigation
The search for Sarah begins a few days late by virtue of the fact that her disappearance was initially thought to be a voluntary departure. Sabrina suggests investigating Sarah’s father’s hometown and his unsavory acquaintances there. A man from Lecce who had sent a message to Sabrina pretending to be Sarah is heard by the Carabinieri. It also turns out that the 15-year-old had three Facebook profiles and had recently communicated with a married man, but this trail leads nowhere. On September 7, 2010, Carabinieri from the Taranto Investigative Unit handed prosecutors a report in which they requested (and obtained) an urgent wiretap of Claudio’s cell phone, since it was “suspicious that the young man did not feel the need to return to Apulia to inquire directly about his sister’s fate”.
An initial breakthrough in the investigation came with the discovery of the victim’s cell phone by Michele Misseri on September 29, 2010, the day after he was interrogated by the investigators in this case. Misseri recounted that he had gone, with the intent of retrieving a lost screwdriver, to a plot of land where, the previous day, he had done some cleanup work with a friend. There, in a burned pile of olive leaves, he had found the cell phone.
On October 4, 2010, at 4:20 pm, Michele Misseri was served an invitation to appear in the afternoon of October 6 at the Taranto Carabinieri Provincial Command. On the same evening, at 9:58 pm, a phone call between Sabrina Misseri and her ex-boyfriend Andrea Merico was intercepted, in which Sabrina was concerned about the fingerprints left by her father and herself on Sarah’s phone, admitting that she had touched the device on the very day of Sarah’s disappearance.
On October 5, a soliloquy of Michele Misseri in his car was recorded at 5:59 am. Misseri closed the door but did not start the engine and, after standing still and in silence for about a minute, spoke to himself, uttering the following words: “I feel sorry for my family... if they go... I will find them out [sic]”.
On October 6, Michele, his wife Cosima and their daughter Valentina went together to Taranto for their interrogations. At 7:59 am, a conversation was recorded in their car: Cosima advised her husband not to be specific about the times when, on the morning the cell phone was found, he had left home. At 15:46 am, Giuseppe Serrano, colleague and brother-in-law of Michele, tells the investigators that, on August 26, the latter arrived at work “way behind schedule”, 45 minutes later than when he was supposed to be there. Finally, in the evening, after 9 hours of interrogation,
As the search for the little girl continued unabated, Michele Antonio Misseri confessed to having killed his niece, strangling her, and to having suppressed her corpse; he, reserving the right to clarify at a later date the reasons and modalities of that insane act, led investigators to a well located in contrada Mosca in the countryside of Avetrana and allowed the discovery, following laborious digging operations that lasted all night, of Scazzi’s lifeless body and some of her personal belongings. Misseri’s confession was recorded in the presence of his defense counsel.
Misseri confessed that, the day Sarah disappeared, he was working in the garage to fix the tractor that wouldn’t start. At 2:25 pm, Sarah had suddenly arrived and, coming down to the garage, had told him “Uncle...” without adding anything else. The moment the little girl had then turned again to leave, Misseri had taken a piece of rope and twisted it around her neck twice, tightening about five to six minutes, even after Sarah had fallen to the ground. Misseri claimed that he had been seized by an “inexplicable rapture”, by a burst of nerves caused by the tractor not starting, but that it was not at all his intention to rape his niece, toward whom he had no sexual attraction.
The following day, during the hearing for the confirmation of the provisional arrest, Misseri changed drastically his account. To the judge’s and prosecutor’s questions about the possible sexual nature of the cause of his attack, he answered enigmatically: “It may be as well”. He confided that he had sexually assaulted Sarah on August 26, that she had reacted and he had had to kill her.
On October 15, 2010, Misseri was heard again and that consisted of a turning point in the case. In the morning interrogation, he confirmed the self-accusatory version already set forth in the two previous ones, but enriched it with details: he claimed that Sabrina had looked out onto the garage ramp immediately after her cousin’s killing, while Sarah’s body lay covered by a piece of cardboard; to the prosecutor’s objection that, in that case, Sabrina could not have failed to notice at the very least Sarah’s beach slippers, which had been left out of that hastily organized cover, Misseri further modified his account, asserting that Sabrina had arrived at the garage entrance to warn her father that she was going to the beach, and she had noticed Sarah’s body covered by the cardboard. Sabrina had exclaimed: “Daddy, what have you done?” and had burst into tears.
The “glaring inconsistencies” inherent in this version led prosecutors to suspend the interrogation at 11:35 am. Three hours later, at 2:26 pm, a new interrogation began:
Misseri claimed that Sabrina had forcibly dragged Sarah into the garage, where he was already standing, in order to verify, in a three-way confrontation, whether it was true that he had molested Sarah, as she had reported to her cousin. Upon Scazzi’s confirmation, Sabrina Misseri had pinned her down, encircling her around the waist with her arms and demanding that she tell the truth in front of her father; the latter, at that point, becoming impatient, had strangled his niece with a rope he was holding, twisting it around her neck, while his daughter held her cousin down.
Sabrina’s detention and Michele’s accusatory statements against her
On October 18, 2010, Sabrina Misseri was questioned by the preliminary hearing judge, denying any involvement in the killing of her cousin. Four days later, a conversation that took place in prison between Michele Misseri and his daughter Valentina was intercepted and filmed. After an initial moment of emotion upon seeing his daughter again, who immediately reminded him of Sabrina’s status, detained because of his accusatory statements (“Daddy, but look I love you anyway, you know? Sabrina loves you too, of course she can’t come now, she knows you’re here, right?”), Michele, shaking his hands, told her in dialect: “The fact... Which Sabrina is hiding… [I wish] she would talk about it”.
On November 3, criminologist Roberta Bruzzone was appointed as a consultant to Michele through his defense lawyer Daniele Galoppa. Two days later, in jail, Misseri had a conversation with Galoppa and Bruzzone; he began to cry and, quite unexpectedly – after he had until then described the incident by reverting to the initial exclusively self-accusatory version – declared that he was not the one who killed Sarah, but his daughter Sabrina. For that reason, with the consent of Misseri himself, a request was made by his defense attorney for investigators to come in for questioning.
At 3:32 pm, before prosecutors, Misseri articulated a version in which he declared himself to be completely uninvolved in the murderous action, which he attributed to Sabrina. Misseri declared that after he had finished eating, at about 1 pm, he had been called by his daughter who had told him, “Daddy, come to the garage ‘cause something happened”. He had then gone there and found Sarah on the floor, with her arms towards the door and with a rope (a meter long, not too tight and with many knots) twisted around her neck; Sabrina had said that her cousin had fallen while they were playing. “[Sabrina] says they were playing in the garage… she says she slipped and fell [...] however, in my opinion, to show that it was suicide she put the rope around her neck…”
Prosecutors deemed this story illogical because of the weapon used, the dynamics of the murder, and the justification given by Sabrina, so they stopped the questioning at 4:10 pm, at the request of the defense counsel, and resumed at 5:04 pm (after Misseri had conferred with attorney Galoppa and consultant Bruzzone). At this point,
Misseri mutated his account by reporting that the murder weapon was a “belt”, not a rope, and claimed that he had been awakened, while he was asleep in the deck chair, by his daughter Sabrina who, in a state of agitation, had said to him: “Dad, come here for a moment ‘cause something has happened”; following his daughter, he had run into the garage and had seen Sarah lying on the floor upright on the right side of the slide, with her head down facing the entrance; he had then exclaimed “But what is it that you have done?” and his daughter had told him “Yeah, anyway she was bothering me as well”. Misseri later specified that to the question “What happened?”, his daughter had said “I was playing with Sarah… she slipped, she fell”, and to his further question “And the belt around her neck, why does she have it?”, Sabrina had replied, “She was bothering me anyway”.
November 19, 2010 was the day of the special evidence pre-trial hearing (whose function is to “anticipate the acquisition and formation of evidence during the preliminary investigation”). These are the salient points:
- Michele essentially reaffirmed the heteroaccusatory version against Sabrina, but also reintroduced the theme of the “game” that allegedly led to Sarah's death;
- he admitted he had confessed the truth (i.e. Sabrina’s responsability in the murder) to a priest two days after he was arrested, and that happened significantly earlier than his first version mentioning Sabrina;
- he specified that he had never asked Sabrina why she had killed Sarah being able only to speculate that the reason was jealousy for Ivano, since he had heard from others that she liked him and, from Sabrina herself, after Sarah’s death, that the young girl had become “too attached” to Ivano;
- when asked why he had accrued the decision to accuse his daughter Sabrina, he replied, “Why did I have to do so many years if I did not do that thing?”;
- Michele added that while he was searching with his daughter for Sarah’s SIM card, Sabrina had only asked him if Sarah was in a safe place, and he had answered in the affirmative, that is, that the body was in a safe place, where only he could find it; his daughter had also asked him about Sarah’s cell phone, and he had told her he had destroyed it.
The relationship between Sarah and Sabrina
The Court that sentenced Sabrina started from a “fixed point” in its reconstruction of the events that led to Sarah’s death:
When Sabrina Misseri was heard by the Carabinieri of Avetrana [...] Sarah’s body had not been found and, therefore, it was still legitimate to hope for a voluntary departure that precisely a quarrel, a contrast, an argument with her cousin could have explained and justified. Yet Sabrina Misseri, while appearing active and proactive in the search for her missing cousin through both public initiatives and collaboration with the Carabinieri, thought it counterproductive to reveal an apparently insignificant detail – a girl-on-girl argument – which, however, could have uncovered a ‘Pandora’s box’, shedding light on what later turned out to be the motive for the murderous action.
It’s necessary to better introduce the individuals who are involved in this story. It’s not contested by the defense that in the summer of 2010 the two girls – since Sarah’s school was closed and she had a relationship of close kinship and living proximity with her cousin – attended each other assiduously; in particular, Sarah went almost daily at the cousin’s house. The two girls were also part of the same group of friends, Sabrina having introduced the young Sarah to the others in December 2009. The group included Ivano Russo, Alessio Pisello, Mariangela Spagnoletti and, in the summer period, Angela Cimino and Claudio Scazzi, as well as Giovanni Copertino and Antonio Forte. Together the aforementioned frequented the same clubs, exchanged messages and phone calls, went to the beach moving in the same cars. Sarah was only allowed to go out in the evenings with her older cousin on whom, therefore, she depended for all opportunities for recreation.
According to the Court, Sarah’s secret diary is really important to understand what happened because it testifies to the onset of a growing enthusiasm for a new friendship and the emergence of a feeling that troubles and confuses the teenager: that for Ivano, that boy so much older than she is and whom Sarah knows well how much her cousin Sabrina also likes. Some significant entries are the following:
- June 4, 2010 at 3:30 pm: “hi......in this time I am having so much fun you know Ivano is really nice I love him so much only he is 27 years old almost 30 whatever I kind of miss the shit I used to do in school with my friends you know....”
- June 9 at 11:07 am: “hi..........so yesterday I went to the beach with Sabrina and Ivano I had a great time only Sabrina then told me that next time she wants to be alone with Ivano and I have to stay home, it sucks when she does that it gets on my nerves. I can’t wait for my brother and my dad to arrive ah I forgot to tell you that Saturday and Sunday I have to go to the beach but not with Ivano....”
- July 28 at 6:30 pm: “...hello my name is Sarah, in this period I am very attached to I boy who is 27 years old, I am only 15 but he is very sweet with me and he always cuddles me, his name is Ivano, and my cousin Sabrina also likes him but I don’t understand if I like him or if I just love him as a friend...I AM CONFUSED” * July 30: “hi, yesterday Ivano cuddled me...I love him so much...but tonight I’m not gonna see him uff.…”
Although Sabrina refused to describe her relationship with Ivano in terms of a romantic one, saying she was only physically attracted to him, her friends contradicted her in their testimonies (Claudio Scazzi goes so far as to speak of a “fixation”). Moreover, one inescapable objective fact is the text messages with which Sabrina “bombarded” her friends to find out where Ivano was, whether he was at one club rather than another, whether he had gone out and who she took home first and who last, even going so far as to check on the boy through actual stakeouts and sending messages from unknown phones. It is unclear why Sabrina would want to “project” onto her friend Mariangela her obsession with Ivano (as she did in the November 20, 2012 hearing) when all testimony converged in another direction. According to the Court,
Sabrina was dominated by her anxiety to establish a stable and exclusive romantic and sexual relationship with Russo, rather than a relationship of mere friendship, so that her conduct became even more insistent where Ivano proved detached and annoyed by her intrusiveness.
Clearly tracing the development of the story between the two are the 4500 messages exchanged over the months by Sabrina and Ivano. For the Court, “[t]he incursion into the sexual sphere of the two isn’t dictated by morbid curiosity, nor is it intended to land on unacceptable moralistic evaluations of their behavior, but it serves to fully understand how the evolution of that relationship and the inevitable estrangement from the young man, due to the differing expectations of the two, generated in Sabrina a very strong sense of frustration”. This frustration was then exacerbated by the fact that although Sarah played (unintentionally) a role in the breakup between Sabrina and Ivano, she did not stop hanging out with him, and this must have been considered a real betrayal on Sabrina’s part. These are some significant messages sent by Sabrina testifying to her interest/obsession:
- May 2, 2010 at 6:02 pm: “You see I am mocking you, I see you as a big puppy:-)”
- May 2 at 6:08 pm: “Come on admit it, you like cuddling at the end who doesn't, then you are so deep…”
- May 2 at 11:40 pm: “Don’t joke, I mean it I envy you I wish I was as beautiful as you and a special and unique character like yours... to me you are like a god :)”
- May 4 at 3:20 pm: “you are a beautiful vision just as you are... understand God Ivano?”
- May 4 at 11:54 pm: “Sweet night, I hope you have recovered, the nice thing about you [is] that you make me feel useful for something...”
- June 6 at 11:17 am: “I’m right, Liala came today and told me Ivano [is] even more gorgeous with glasses but just so much and I answered ‘I know’ and I told them you could tell him”
- June 8 at 1:53 pm: “The client I said hello earlier sent me an SMS to say you are handsome if you don’t believe me I’ll show you the message I saved it:)”
- June 8 at 1:59 pm: “I don't want to hear you complain anymore so far I haven’t heard anyone say otherwise it has nothing to do with taste you can’t deny the evidence the one who has to complain is me and not you, even my brother-in-law says you’re handsome”
On the other hand, Ivano didn’t seem to reciprocate. He wrote, “Sabri I don’t want you to talk to me like that...the other day that thing shouldn’t have happened, I knew it would end like that.” And again, “But why did you fall in love with me? If you want sex that’s fine, but I don’t fall in love:)”. Hence the profound frustration of Sabrina who, after vainly trying to establish a “real” relationship, had to give up in the face of the indifference of the young man, who in a clear manner, finally told her that he did not conceive, between them, anything other than a loveless sex relationship.
Claudio testified that he tried to talk with Sabrina about her relationship with Ivano, asking her why she continued to hang out with him even if he wasn’t really that interested:
Sabrina made it clear to me that she would rather maybe even be teased, let’s say, even teased in a sense, by Ivano, than lose him altogether.
Concetta was also aware of the relationship between the two, having overheard a telephone conversation between Sarah and Sabrina in which the former said, “If I were in your place, I would kick him. Why do you stand behind him, why do you let him treat you this way?”
The August 25 argument at the “102” brewery
Sabrina was extremely upset and annoyed by the fact that, in her view, Sarah was diverting Ivano’s attention from her – this is a “fact peacefully acquired at the trial”, according to the Court, just as it’s established that this was the reason for the argument that took place on the evening of August 25, 2010. Here is what Stefania De Luca, an older friend of Sabrina’s, testifies:
I was sitting at a table near the front door of the club. After a while, I remember, Mariangela Spagnoletti, Sabrina Misseri and Sarah Scazzi came in. They entered the club, we greeted each other, and immediately Sabrina said, “This time it’s really over”, referring to the relationship she had with Ivano. In particular, already for some time Sabrina had told me several times about her interest in Ivano, her infatuation with him. She herself told me on several occasions that Ivano’s behaviors gave her hope. Evidently during the day of August 25 something had happened for which she had decided to sever this situation with Ivano. After this initial approach, Sabrina and Mariangela entered the bar to get a drink while Sarah stayed close to me. I then noticed that Sarah was very upset and her eyes were glazed over, so much so that I asked her what had happened. Sarah did not answer, shrugging her shoulders and bowing her head.
De Luca confirmed that Sabrina told her she had had a fight with Ivano, adding ironically that he was now only talking to Sarah. “That one sells herself, sells herself for two cuddles, even her mother says so”, Sabrina allegedly repeated twice, referring to Sarah. At that moment Sarah literally went pale and bowed her head almost crying.
Mariangela Spagnoletti – the girl with whom Sarah and Sabrina were supposed to go to the beach – essentially corroborated this version in court:
PROSECUTOR BUCCOLIERO – Here, but these words you said earlier, about Sarah’s and Ivano’s relationship, Sabrina also said them in the car while talking to you? SPAGNOLETTI – Yes. That he was cuddling Sara more than her. […] PROSECUTOR BUCCOLIERO – Listen, was Sabrina jealous of Sarah with regard to Ivano? SPAGNOLETTI – I don’t know if she was jealous, however, with some phrases she made it clear that she was.
Spagnoletti’s trustworthiness was questioned by Sabrina’s defense, which noted how the girl was attracted to Ivano and therefore would turn out to be emotionally involved in the affair; needless to say that De Luca’s testimony still stands and it’s difficult to understand why Spagnoletti would make such serious accusations… just because. The Court also noted that the reasoning of the defense doesn’t make much sense “in light of the little interest Sabrina had managed to arouse in [Ivano]” and since Spagnoletti mentioned the August 25 altercation only when the prosecutor talked about it.
Other episodes corroborating the motive: obsession & desire
Another significant episode that supports the idea of a catastrophic “rupture” between the girls is narrated by Angela Cimino, another friend of the group:
One evening in August, certainly after the 15th, we were in Torre Colimena with Sabrina, Ivano, Claudio and Sarah. With the same, aboard Ivano’s car we returned to Avetrana. I remember that Ivano left Sabrina at home first, only because it was on the way, and, while Ivano dropped Claudio and Sarah, the latter received a message from Sabrina. Sarah read it aloud, “Let me know who [Ivano] drop off home first.” None of those present commented on the message, and I made some reflections. The reading [of the message] took place just before Sarah and Claudio got out of the car as having arrived at their home, [so] Ivano and I, left alone in the car commented on what had happened. I told him that I felt it was time for him to clarify with Sabrina the nature of their relationship beyond a simple friendship. Ivano told me that he would talk to her.
The investigators therefore discovered that Sarah had been indirectly responsible for Ivano deciding to end his “friendship with benefits” with Sabrina, so to speak – but even if it were not for this fact, it would still have happened, as one can see considering the next episode corroborating the motive hypothesized by the Court.
Some days before August 4, 2010, one evening, Sabrina and Ivano drove away from Avetrana, secluded themselves and began to have sex; however, they didn’t complete the intercourse, because Ivano said he didn’t want to ruin the friendship. Sabrina later confided about what happened to Mariangela; Sarah was listening. Without much time passing, the entire group learned of the “failed intercourse” between Sabrina and Ivano. The former stopped going outside and seeing her friends for a while. On August 16, 2010, starting from midnight and going on for the whole day, the two also exchanged some glacial messages:
- August 16 at 0:49 am, Ivano: “I have told you a million times that you are a friend to me, but I prefer to keep my distance if only now I am sure that you don’t want just a friendship” […]
- Sabrina: “Listen dummy what I told you before friendship is fine, but hands off remember what you say to me, the universe does not revolve around you, that’s enough now, out of your mouth must not come my name anymore”
- Ivano: “Thank you for telling everyone about what happened”
- Ivano: “I am leaning towards a friendship but, if you have other ideas, then each on their own way”
- Sabrina: “Don’t worry anyway I’ve decided not to go out anymore, so you don’t say that I’m always looking for you, that I’m always texting you, which isn’t true because lately you were almost always initiating, if I have to pass as the one I’m not I stay at my house”
- Ivano: “Oh listen you're breaking my balls you're doing everything, and fuck off I didn’t tell you anything in fact you said I harass you”
On August 21 there was a face-to-face clarification, arranged by Ivano and not Sabrina, which – it is really hard to understand why, although the Court had its hypotheses – Sarah also attended. Ivano recalled in court:
I told Sabrina what Claudio had reported to me and, after telling her that I was very annoyed, I asked her if she had been the one to report the episode. Sabrina told me that it had not been her and was also annoyed. Confirming that she had not told anyone, she reported to me that Claudio had certainly tried to find out something without having any information, I took the opportunity to reiterate to her that I did not intend to establish a relationship that was anything other than friendship, and I took the opportunity to apologize to her if my behavior had engendered any expectations in her.
According to the Court that sentenced Sabrina, “after making inquiries in the circle of friends, Misseri could only trace the origin of the disclosure of the episode that will lead to the termination of relations with Ivano back to her cousin Sarah”.
Sabrina’s defense attempted to downplay the extent of such feelings by pointing out that the relationship between the two young women was the same: the two girls loved each other “like sisters” and were inseparable, none of those who hung out with them had ever perceived a feeling of jealousy on the part of Sabrina toward Sarah, and, therefore, there was no rivalry or jealousy between the two cousins, so much so that after their conversation with Ivano on August 21, the two girls had continued their evening together, going to the Spizzico club to play karaoke.
Contradicting these theories there is Liala Nigro’s testimony; she was a friend of Sabrina and she testified that, about mid-August, Sabrina arrived angrily at the pub accusing her of telling Ivano about the incident. Some days later, but certainly before August 21, Sabrina apologized to her, telling her that she had identified the person responsible in Claudio. This whole episode corroborates the idea that Sabrina was very angry at whoever had propagated the story of the failed intercourse. Also the fact that Sarah participated in the August 21 face-to-face confrontation can be seen as compatible with the theory that Sabrina had finally identified the “real culprit”, namely Sarah, and had wanted her to be present because she was as involved as the other two.
The relationship between Sabrina and Ivano had therefore broken down irremediably. The former wrote the latter a burst of angry messages:
- August 23, 2010 at 9:04 am: “Btw on Saturday [August 21] when you left I had to tell you that you are good at humiliating people in front of everyone, ‘psychopath, apathetic,’ I at least if I have something to say I say it to you and not in front of everyone like you did to Mariangela, saying heavy sentences in front of people you don’t know, make an examination of conscience. A 27-year-old does not behave like that, you are immature. From what you told me about a certain person you are the one who behaves like this and not me and not that you want to be good, I can accompany you and you keep saying heavy words, I in front of others never allowed myself..., you don’t appreciate things, you don’t know respect, because the night before you didn’t feel like talking, however humiliating in front of others yes, bravo, congratulations.”
The Court notes that it is therefore a fact that the relationship between the two cousins broke down after the August 21 confrontation. Testifying to this, again, there is Sarah going to San Pancrazio Salentino (a nearby town where another cousin of hers lived) from August 23 to 25: “Sarah, no longer having a chance to go out in Avetrana, her brother Claudio having departed, therefore took the first opportunity that came her way to get away from the village”. In these two days, Sarah contacted nevertheless many times Sabrina through calls or rings, but the latter never responded. In court she explained her actions saying that she was “displeased”, i.e. she was missing Sarah (it doesn’t make much sense really).

2023.06.06 07:53 PinkPengin [Thank You] Very, very behind
These are not in any particular order - some may have come a few weeks ago, some today.
But I do have good news: I did NOT work on cards at all this weekend, because I spent Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday all doing amazing fun things with my wife as we kicked off our celebration of Pride month. For those who don't know, we currently have two houses, in two different states, one where she mostly lives (in the U.S. Pacific Northwest) and one where I mostly live (in the U.S. Southwest, known as the Cactus Cathouse). We are gearing up to sell our northern outpost house and live together in the Cactus Cathouse, and this was sort of our "last hurrah" weekend before showings and whatnot really get started.
But now, I'm trying to get cardthings caught up so that I'm not trying to deal with them during the eventual relocation, starting with these thanks and hopefully progressing on to a request and an offer tomorrow as time permits.
Also, someone in this (long) list sent me a lovely, large rainbow snail vinyl sticker, but I couldn't tell whose mail it came from. (Maybe
u/amyt13?) Anyway, whoever you are, I appreciate you immensely and I'm sorry for not organizing myself better.
Thanks to:
(First of all, thanks to the flair team, because yikes this is the worst and I'm very sorry!)
u/amabisca - This handmade purple card (my favorite color!) is amazing and was such an uplifting surprise. Thank you so, so much!
u/amyt13 (x2) - Thank you for the beautiful handmade collage card, the Oscar Wilde card, and all the extras! I hope you are able to find a good place to call home too - the one you were describing sounds like my kind of town, and I hope it works out. I'll cross my fingers for you!
u/AppleCritter723 - This cute botanical card/letter I an opening from you is dated in April. APRIL, friend. I am sorry. It is full of good news and cute stickers and I swear I will write actual mail and not just send weird envelopes of things to you and your "bigger little" soon. I hope your Memorial Day weekend travels weren't too bad, and that Gandalf the adventurer is letting you occasionally stay inside. You created a meow-monster!
u/awachob - Goose!! I can't believe I got to be the goose! Thank you so much for a fun offer. (And for the neat stickers!)
u/blue-wanderer-quartz - I am very late saying thanks for the Five of Pentacles cat tarot sticker reading, but it was incredibly appropriate to read about pooling resources as my wife and I re-combine households in part due to love but in large part due to, well, wanting to actually have disposable income! I think it's interesting that we both chose pentacles for each other! (And the cat postcard your reading is on is very cute, I don't want to forget that!)
u/bluedecemberart (x2) - I love the vintage VA hospital postcard from Maine... and we already chatted about the "not noticing the chores" thing but rereading the card as I went to post this made me sure again that we are somehow the same person. WEIRD, but COOL. And your New York skyline postcard is lovely, and now I want to watch A Crown of Candy!
u/championvilla - I adore this MarioKart card! My wife and I used to play a lot (right now, we have the game systems packed for house-showing). I hope that your husband is continuing to feel better (and that the cat finally decided to get off of him, lol!)
u/chiquita61 - The sloth mermaid dolphin thank-you card with penguin stickers is absolutely wonderful... and I am so happy you liked my "reject" sticker card in all its glory!
u/comingtogetyoubabs (x6) - This crystal ball card with Petit's ABSOLUTE WISDOM is just amazing, friend. (Also, did I get a little teary at "writer of hugs in card form" MAYBE). And the amazing goodies you included - the cat-yang patch, your beautiful handmade notepaper... there is no way I deserve the awesomeness that is you "buzzing" into my life. And then the second cat card and all the goodies, including the adorable bookmark...! And THEN I realized you had hand-drawn me three tarot cards that you wrote about, AND then I found your origami letter... I am in awe, friend. You are wonderful!
u/cswl (x10) - This is what I get for not keeping up with my thanks, I feel silly with how behind I am for you, my dear friend! (Both in thanking AND in writing back.) Thank you for the cute plant notecard (I do not do Informed Delivery because it will just make me sad, I think); the red fox postcard (did you go to Fogo, which is one of my favorite places ever??); the "sources of acid" postcard (I always feel better when I have time for myself too, and also always delay it too long); the absolutely delicious LouPaper charcuterie board postcard (I have both too many cards and somehow never the ones I really feel like I wish I had to send people); the postcard from The Lion King (yay garage sale days!); the Strange Planet vibrating cat postcard (so outnumbered, I have given up, they are in charge now); the two different New Yorker cartoon cards (you are 100% right - hard times are harder on the one holding down the fort in SO many ways, been there/done that, and also guilt trips suck and I'm sorry the person tried to send you on one); the cute bird saying hi card (the one-house thing was her idea first, and it will definitely be for the best, though I need to make sure I keep focusing on me too!); and especially thanks for "Content Lives Everywhere" collage you made - that is just wonderful. You are so great. I am sorry I'm such a bad postal pal but I'm trying to do better!
u/dazeyferry (x2) - My dear friend, this penguin with flowers card is AMAZING and I am so, so grateful that you thought of me when you saw it. And the little floral thank-you card addition was perfect as well. I love you and I am so glad we are friends! As far as bingeworthy shows - have you seen Ted Lasso? Schmigadoon? (Both on AppleTV.) Those are amazing. We also started watching Hello, Tomorrow, which is a bit sad sometimes but really good! I'll try to think of some more, too.
u/draconic_healing - I love this little tiny Polaroid-style postcard - it's adorable! Please pet the kitty for me - I couldn't tell if you wrote "Bear" or "Bean" but both are great names!
u/dwrfstr - This gold penguin card is amazing and adorable and I cannot believe your luck to find it thrifted! I picked up a set of hundreds of vintage postcards from an art reuse store that's near where we met up, and I ended up with, like, 16 of the same weird chapel at a church camp in South Dakota, so you definitely win...
u/fancayschmanzayyy - Your cat thank-you card was wonderful (as were the cool stickers!) And most of all, I very much appreciate you telling me about your act of kindness and I especially appreciate your caregiving nature. I cared for my mom for many years before she passed away and stories like the one you told will always be especially important to me. You make a difference and I am so grateful you exist!
u/Fancykiddens (x2) - I feel terribly, terribly guilty for how late I am thanking you for this amazing CARD-CEPTION package!! First, from the pengin section: the pengin family you drew me, how awesome are they?! You are so talented! I almost never keep envelopes but this one got immediately saved with my "penguin stash." Then there was your beautiful handmade Frida Kahlo card - exactly my vibe, I love it! The penguin goodie bag with the penguins and their fish snackles inside was adorable too. And then, moving to the "monsteroo" or cute monster section, I adored your Monsters Inc. letter and goodies as well! I especially liked hearing that, at the time you wrote it, you were feeling particularly well and accomplished, and I adored hearing how much carding has helped your outlook. SAME, FRIEND. So much so!!
u/feellikebeingajerk (x2) - Holly Hobbie card (the first, maybe?) has arrived! And yes, it brought back awesome memories. I didn't get a lot of "trendy" things growing up, as my parents and I didn't have a lot of money, but there was a discount department store near us, sort of an early version of a T.J. Maxx or Ross that was called Hills, and it would sometimes get slight misprints or seconds of things like bedding, which is, I am -positive-, how I came to be able to have Holly Hobbie. And I don't remember anything "wrong" with it, so, way to go, Mom of PinkPengin, for that find! LOL. Also, thanks for the cool Papyrus thank-you card from your random offer, and for the stickers!
u/fieldofcabins - This adorable bee thank-you postcard is so great (and the penguin as the stamp image, ahhh!) I am glad your dad is healing and please let him know I'm still thinking of him. (And of course I'm always thinking of you, too!)
u/GizmoDOS - Thanks for the solar system postcard, friend! I loved hearing from you. Life really has been hectic lately. I hope yours is moving in the direction of settling down. Mine is going to be rough briefly but then hopefully a lot smoother!
u/hermitcreature - I love this Studio Ghibli-themed card and all the great stickers and dragon facts from your book (and the amazing Zimbabwean owl stamp)! I hope you will like your card from me in exchange when it arrives - I just sent it this week, I am very sorry!
u/HexagonalRainbow - I loved your anime postcard but even more, I loved hearing about your concert!
u/isar-love (x2) - These cartoon owls with their hats and shoes on your card from March are AMAZING! (And the accompanying postcard with more behatted owls also made my day!) I agree with you very much that owl facial expressions are the thing that especially warms my heart to them. They seem so intelligent and curious and often kind (especially in illustrations) with their big eyes looking right at me! I have several little stuffed-animal friend owls, including two very special ones named Swoops (who is tan) and Fwoops (who is pink, though his name reference is from fuschia - he is a "Fuschia Swoops" - way better than a Pink Swoops, who I fear would have to be "Poops," LOL!) Thank you so much for your wonderful kindness and friendship and fun mail!
u/jaimekj - Thank you for the floral card, great stickers and most importantly your note and your friendship! I do like New Mexico (more than my part of the Southwest, honestly, but we had family reasons we picked where we did)! I'm crossing my fingers about an interest-rate drop. If I had my choice, I'd either like to find someone bigger in Washington, or move back to Pennsylvania, I think. There are ups and downs to both. And I will VERY much hate going back to snow, that's one thing I do love about where I am in the desert!
u/jvanct88 - I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to have a letter from you with an update (and updated address), dear friend! In one way, I am VERY sorry for all the things you have been finding out, but in another way I am happy that you finally know the truth and I believe that knowing it will be very helpful in having closure and a good feeling as you move to a new chapter in your life. And I am VERY hopeful that your tattoo came out amazing! I am a big, big fan of tattoos and piercings. A funny story is that I got 2 new tattoos and several piercings when my wife and I were separated, including a nosering, which she always said she hated. (She didn't mind other tattoos and piercings generally.) When we got back together, she apologized for ever saying that, and said how good it looks on me. That was nice, but I very plainly also told her, "I wouldn't care even if you hate it, because I love it and I'm keeping it forever." LOL! Anyway, I love this dinosaur princess cactus card and I am very happy to hear from you and will write to you again soon!
u/KatDuq (x3) - My dear friend!! This butterfly card you made to thank me for MY card in honor of your new letter opener is beautiful (as are the included penguin stickers, which are beautiful, of course!) I also loved your separate letter talking about the things you make. I do journal, sometimes, but I suffer from the problem of all notebook and journal-havers... I hate to USE the beautiful books I have lest I "mess them up!" What really helped me get out of that mindset somewhat was actually the Happy Planner notebooks, because I felt like I could always remove pages and rearrange! And now I am getting into bookbinding and I feel like that helps too because I can more easily make things "modular" and not have the fear of ruining a whole gigantic book right off the bat. I know that's perfectionism talking and I am working on getting rid of that mindset altogether, but for now, baby steps. And HUGE congrats on what you've sold, you definitely have a customer in me if you get an online store set up! Finally, thank you for the lovely oracle reading, which (unsurprisingly) was just what I needed to hear now, tonight, as I write this! I specifically didn't look closely at it until now because I figured I'd see it when the time was right and... yup. I did. You are amazing and I appreciate you sharing your beautiful new deck with me. (And that logo stamp you got! SO worth it, it looks amazing!)
u/littlemermaidxx - Your Pride Is Everyday postcard is beautiful - thank you so much! I have Pride happy mail coming your way too.
u/maiiiu (x3) - WOW, you are way too kind to me!! What an adorable thank-you postcard, first of all. And I adored your wonderful handmade penguin collage thank-you card too, and loved hearing the good news about your summer trip plans. I hope it is a truly special time for you and your dear best friend! And then this custom penguin stationery... WOW. You are just amazing and I am very grateful! (Also, the way you attached your sticker gifts in your collage card was great, I might steal that method.)
u/melhen16 - Where did you find this amazing desert-post-office-style card? Did you make it? It's amazing! (And thank you for the beautiful stickers, too!)
u/mumbagoespainting (x3) - Your handmade hometown card is so beautiful, my friend! I loved hearing how you learned to say it. (I admit - I get that one wrong on the first try and have to correct myself every time, despite being from not terribly far south, where we heard it more than occasionally!) And your watercolor dragon is absolutely fabulous!! I loved hearing that we have very similar color tastes - purples, grays, teal! Seeing the dragon pick up those colors was perfect. Finally, your black-and-white abstract card with the glitter made me smile, though I was sad to read about why you had to miss the trip... I hope you are feeling better! And, of course, thank you again for all your stickers and other extras and most importantly for your kindness and friendship. I am beyond grateful for you!!
u/ninajyang - I like the crafty postcard from Pipsticks! And yeah... Hairspray... love the music, definitely not sure about some other things... sigh.
u/nirelleth - I absolutely adore this great penguin and fox postcard for our "wish" exchange! I hope you like yours when it arrives, too. (I just sent it last week, I am so sorry for the wait!) I think my favorite fact about penguins is that they are not all polar; in fact, some of my favorites are temperate ones. (I say, in fact, that I myself am a "temperate pengin!")
u/non_avian (x3) - I am VERY sorry this has taken me so long to write (and even to open and fully enjoy). Your handmade Scoffby postcard with my past-present-future reading was absolutely amazing and is going on my "display shelf" of some of my most treasured cards! I need to know how you made his crystal ball, which is gorgeous! Also, please tell Scoffby that I am very much food-motivated (in fact, I just bribed myself tonight with hibachi). So, his signature chant is VERY well-placed when directed at me. I also adored your letter and the cute paper it was written on, and I am thrilled about the Furby washi card and all the goodies, too! I had no idea that Furby washi even existed, though I guess I shouldn't be surprised... and the capy noodles sticker and adorable penguins and everything else... I am so grateful. I have some mail coming your way very soon; all the "parts" are ready, I just need to put them together and actually get it sent!
u/Peonynote (x2) - Your cat thank-you card was adorable and most importantly, I am so excited for all your travels (and I LOVED seeing your penguin friends together!) And the lovely rainbow card with penguin stickers and super-cute penguin sticky note, in honor of Pride Month, made my day! I hope your walking is going well, still, now that it's getting warmer and stickier.
u/ResidentComposer1939 - I loved your sweet bird notecard and your penguin drawing (it's WAY better than my drawings, let me tell you!)
u/SherlockLady (x3) - Your beautiful butterfly card was lovely as it was, and then I saw the cute mini-card with the reminder about being the happiest/healthiest version of myself, AND the special penguin painting from your young carding apprentice... and wow, I just felt so special! What an awesome gift.
u/soft_distortion - This Gender Is Such a Drag postcard is perfecttttttttt. I loved hearing about the drag brunches too!
u/thecalendonianrose - This square penguin card is amazing and I am so grateful that you thought of sending it to me! (And all the stickers are lovely, thank you!) My wife and allllll the kitties say hello back.
u/TigerLady13 - This is definitely a late thanks, I apologize! But I appreciated the vintage Continental Divide postcard and the "Peng-Win" pun... made me giggle!
u/TyeDyeAmish - I love this pufferfish card, and I have really enjoyed getting to chat with you recently! Most importantly, how was the book sale?! I'm fairly certain it's one I've been to in the past, based on the date you said you were going, and I miss it and a few others in the area so much!
u/umeshufan - Why, yes, this Cat Island postcard DOES look like my house, and yes, there are really 19 inside, and even funnier, YES, I am allergic to cats. The thing is, you do build up a tolerance to ones you are around regularly, but when I travel and then come back, it is truly a nightmare. Thankfully I almost never let any in my bedroom and never to sleep, so I can at least breathe overnight!
u/wabisabi_sf (x2) - My friend, I am in awe of these amazing pink-and-penguin-themed pieces of happy mail!! I had never seen these before and I am DEFINITELY going to be getting more. You are so wonderful to me!
u/welshfancy (x5) - Thanks for the Laughlin postcard (very belatedly)! Your trip to Long Beach sounds almost as multi-stop as my recent cards' journeys to you, though thankfully you didn't need your passport, at least?! And thank you also for the amazing handmade "blooms" collage card (which, as far as I'm concerned, is appropriate for spring OR summer, so it seems perfectly timed to me); the great cat mini-card that you wrote while either eating breakfast or getting your tires changed on your travels; the penguin-with-J-based-life-preserver doodle (which I thought was GREAT, so don't even say it's worse than your others, which I also liked!); and your lovely letter on penguin paper, plus of course the bonus stationery! You spoil me!! I'm thinking of you as you try to decide "what's next" locationally, too.
u/yetanotherblankface - I think your beautiful handmade card for the "Hometown" meta challenge is giving exactly the right vibes! It certainly made me feel cozy and relaxed, which is the feeling I'd most like to associate with home.
u/yviantics - Your hand-drawn Pink Party Penguin postcard with its lovely hat, and the great penguin sticker, absolutely made my day!! I do not draw well at all and I am always amazed when people who can will share their talent with me. Thank you so, so much! (And, by the way, I tried the bananas-and-barbecue-chips combo and was really surprised at how good it was, so thanks for that, too!)
u/56thorns and
u/UseYourRuler - Thank you for the wonderful postcard from the "Falls!" My wife and I were there to ring in the New Year for 2019 and I've been a couple other times too. Such a lovely place for a getaway, and it sounds like you had fun!
u/todayisfab,
u/sebisrude and
u/KeenEvergreen - In my stack of not-thanked-yet mail I found my very own postcard from our meetup, and it made me smile all over again. Thank you all so much, again, for a fun day. And to whichever of you put penguin stickers on this along with the cacti - I am super impressed that you pulled that off without me noticing, they are WAY too cute.

2023.06.06 06:38 MommyHonkerDonkers My Copilot Is A Neckbeard #46
Hey there Reddx gang, looks like I finally got a bit of time to write, so let’s not delay any longer and get into another story about Chris.
Who is Chris? Chris is a very fat and sweaty man surrounded by an impenetrable aura of poopycum stinkystank. Chris is a certified weiner wizard, content to dwell in his own personal dark triad of anime, crystal, and lot lizards. Things are usually okay when Chris is driving the truck – usually – but when his shift comes to an end and I have to take the wheel, or worse yet, when we pull over for the night, the fun really begins. Then, despite my best efforts to make him bathe and behave, it was all in vain and the poopycum man would circle a little further down the drain. Thankfully, I no longer have to ride with Chris.
We rolled out of the truck stop and popped into the traffic, Chris signaling the turn he was about to make with the blinker. I was zoned out in my laptop, playing a game to whittle away the endless hours of road that stood before us. He made that left before hanging a right off the overpass and started down the ramp. I looked up when the truck no longer accelerated, but instead slowed to a stop. “What the Hell are you doing, Chris? We need to get on the road.” Chris came back, remarking, “bro, one second. This is important.” He pointed outside my window and looked down to see a dirty little ruffian who had come up beside the passenger window, a heavy backpack draped on his shoulders.
He beamed up at me from beneath a broad, floppy hat, as he shifted his pack cheerily on his shoulders. I turned to Chris and said, “what the fuck is this?” Chris remarked, “the guy was sitting on the side of the shoulder with his thumb out and he’s got a sign saying Phoenix. Well, we’re headed back to Phoenix, so I figured maybe we could give him a lift. He looks like he needs a ride.” I paused. I knew that Chris never did anything out of the kindness of his heart for anybody, so I wondered what the Hell his angle was. I didn’t pry it however as he insistently told me to get up. I fought with him for a bit, regarding insurance concerns and paperwork and the office, but he brushed it all aside with a casual, “dude, my dad owns the company. It’ll be fine. Now get up and let him in.” Against my better judgment, I budged from my seat to let in this vagabond, wondering if today was the day both Chris and I would be ax-murdered.
He smelled as rough as he looked, but by contrast, that was comparatively mild next to the perforating aroma of sweaty balls that clung to Chris. He smiled at me a yellow, buck-toothed grin, telling me his name was “Sage” and rather than shake his hand, I just moved to the back so he could sit down in the passenger seat and I could be left alone. Chris’s reply was jubilant. “So, Sage, you’re headed to Phoenix?” Sage replied, “yessir! Glad you stopped. I knew my ride would come eventually.”
I guess Chris latched on to this turn of phrase and replied, “you knew? How did you know?” Sage smiled and said to Chris,”I just know some things. I saw your truck coming down the ramp and I knew that that was the one.” Chris replied, “that’s great and all, but that doesn’t answer my question. How did you know?” With a sly grin, Sage responded, “don’t you know, dude? All hobos are wizards.” He tipped his floppy hat at Chris and then buckled his seat belt.
I tried not to roll my eyes at this bold declaration. Magic? Was this guy serious? Apparently, he was, because he delivered that statement with enough gravitas to sucker Chris in. Chris half-assedly pulled off the interstate shoulder, mumbling “wizards” to himself before a blaring car horn came up on the driver’s side, nearly scraping the side of our rig, and he jerked back to the side of the road with an “OH GOD DAMN IT” before actually checking the mirror this time. When the tension of the moment finally passed and Chris was able to merge into traffic, Chris turned back to Sage and said, “so, you’re a wizard, huh?” Sage replied once more in the affirmative, “that I am. And judging by the fact that you pulled over your truck, you must be rather sensitive to the arcane yourself. Not everybody can sense the sublime energies of the universe. You must have picked up on me calling out to you for a ride. Honestly, it must have been destiny.”
I looked up from the top of my book towards the front of the truck and said, “oh no, don’t you go feeding this boy’s delusions, dude. He’s fucked up enough as it is,” to which Chris responded, “shove it honker donkers! Sage, do you really mean that I’m… sensitive?” I tried not to choke on my own laughter as I said, “yeah, your ass is definitely sensitive since you can’t wipe it.” However, they had forgotten all about little old honker donkers in the back of the truck. Had they cast a sphere of silence over the bunks where I lay? I doubt it, but by the way they were acting, you’d think they did. Sage gassed Chris up, of course, replying “yeah, you’re definitely sensitive to the mystical, my guy. I can just tell. I can sense it.” I replied, “that’s just his smell.” They continued to ignore me. How the tables had turned.
Chris let out a breathy “wow” as he drove the rig along, before asking Sage what that meant. Chris was actually excited, his quivering neck fat dancing with jiggly delight as he asked Sage what he ought to do next. Sage thought about this for a moment, and said, “well, since you show great promise, how would you like to become my apprentice?” I shot up from the back, with one word on my lips. “Oh no. Oh hell no. You’re not taking this guy seriously, are you, Chris? He’s clearly a charlatan, dude. Magic isn’t even real. Honestly, Sage, is it? I think this ride has gone on long enough. It’s about time you get the hell out of this truck and walk.”
Chris started up with a shriek, declaring that I couldn’t just evict his master from the truck, and if we’re being totally honest, we were rolling down the highway at 65 MPH and I wasn’t at the wheel. I had no power to remove him in this situation. Sage grinned at me and said, “that’s the power of a wizard,” before turning to Chris and saying, “now, my apprentice…” I trudged to the back of the truck, trying to keep pace on all the weird hippie woowoo shit they were talking about, but I’m an old man. I can’t catalog it all. I did my best to ignore it all and return once more to my book. Chris would make his own bed today, and all I could hope was that it would be his problem and remain that way.
The ride past by as the wizard and his apprentice discussed all sorts of arcane conundrums, like alchemy (which focused mostly around which beers got you drunk the fastest and how to spin a pookie so you don’t burn off all your dope), manifestation (the art of wanting something really bad and hoping it comes true), and even wizard style, which entailed a lengthy discussion not only on dress but on grooming. By my recollection, it seems that the less one bathes, the more mighty their power becomes. Chris really lit up at this small bit of wisdom, telling Sage full length about the mystical potency of his pheromones and their utility in attracting his mates. Sage nodded knowingly about the powers of unwashed loins, and goaded Chris to bathe less so that his power could amplify. Of course, that wouldn’t be an issue, because, well, Chris never really bathed to begin with.
Sage was fascinated by the talk of pheromones and attracting of mates. He cut Chris off mid-sentence as he was regaling him with a story about a lot lizard he had purchased, when Sage mentioned two words that I wish he had never said to one poopycum man. “Sex magic.” Chris murmured back the phrase with awestruck intensity, wondering what strange wizardry he had stumbled upon. Sage offered up an explanation, saying that “sex is the strongest source of human power. You can literally use sex to manifest things. I know when I’m manifesting things, I think about it real hard while I, uh… you know.” Chris, missing the point entirely, said, “no, I don’t.” Obviously, whenever Sage was talking about when he “cleaned up.”
Chris’s eyes grew wide, and I knew that he had just conceived some harebrained plan in his head. What that plan was, of course, I couldn’t quite guess, but I’m sure it involved the objects of his desires and stroking his peen.
Thankfully, we were drawing close to Phoenix, and we would soon be rid of this self-proclaimed master wizard who had thoroughly educated his apprentice on all sorts of dubious ritualism. Sage spoke up, asking to be let out at the next truck stop, and I could see that the thought of losing his master upset Chris. So, in that moment, I guess Chris decided to try and put into practice all the things he had learned. I heard a shout from Sage. He cried, “what the hell are you doing, bro?”
Between heavy, throaty groans of pleasure, Chris murmured, “don’t leave me, master, there’s still so much left for me to learn.” I guess mister wizard here couldn’t divine the truth about the poopycum man – that truth being that you should never enable him to act like an asshole. Sage skittered in his seat up against the side of the window as the swampy scent of sexual arousal flooded the cab and Chris fiddled with his ding dong. He kept repeating himself like it was his own personal mantra, begging Sage to stay by his side and teach him all his wizarding ways as he diddled his knob. For once, I was glad I was in the back, and I promptly stood up and closed the curtain, leaving Sage to the fate he brought on himself.
The truck swerved and bucked as Chris struggled to choke the chicken, invoke his arcane spells, and focus on driving. I figured that today I would die, but Chris’s insufficient stamina saved the day as the smell of spoiling seed suffused about the cabin. Chris had nutted in his pants. Slowly, I cracked the curtains to see Sage desperately rolling down the window like I had done so many times before. Sage turned back to me, and begged me to help, but I just shrugged and said, “you opened this can of worms, dude.”
Well, Sage eventually got his wish. Despite Chris’s begging and pleading for his master to remain by his side, we ended up roaring into a truck stop outside of Phoenix and Sage promptly exited the cab, grabbing his things and disappearing into the travel plaza as Chris yelled after him for him to come back. Needless to say, Sage did not take the bait.
I moved into the driver’s seat and began my pre-drive checklist while Chris huffed up into the cabin, a spreading seminal stain suffusing through his sweatpants. He looked sad and defeated, as if he were somehow surprised that his “sexual magic” had failed to entice a hitchhiking charlatan to stay and teach him his weirding ways. He launched into a tirade, saying, “man, I can’t believe he didn’t stay! He was gonna teach me all his magic but he just up and left me, dude. What the Hell? My powers must not be strong enough yet, Honker Donkers.”
I sighed, looking up from the paperwork, and said, “He’s full of shit, Chris, and magic isn’t real. He was taking you for a ride, not the other way around. You scared him off when you bought into his bullshit and decided to polish your knob while you were driving the truck and he’s not coming back. It’s that simple.” Chris scoffed, and said, “yeah right, honker donkers. Like you know anything about magic. Sage taught me everything he knew, bro. I just need to practice more and just you watch, I’m gonna do all sorts of crazy shit.” I rolled my eyes, but deep inside I was troubled, because this really showed me just how deep Chris’s delusions ran. Believing some hobo on the side of the road is actually a wizard was just a bridge to far for me. I took a deep breath, and tried to explain everything once again, but Chris was having none of it. With a bold clearing of his throat, he said, “hearken thyself, nonbeliever, and witness the power of a real mage! Sage, you will return to me and finish my training!”
His hand crept down to his pants and pulled back the elastic waistband, releasing the fragrant fumes of fermenting fungus and I retched. Even though both windows were down, it seems that his previous release had already congealed into a putrid, rotten mass, that now aerated itself upon the breeze with just that singular lifting of the fabric. He was casting a cloud of disease, alright, and I choked back vomit as I groped around underneath the console. I had been saving something special there just for this occasion.
BWAAAAAAAA.
Chris practically jumped out of his seat, hitting his head against the side paneling of the truck, screeching, “OH GOD DAMNIT,” as he lifted one clean hand to his ear and another soured one to the opposite side of his face. I let up on the trigger of the air horn and he relaxed momentarily, pulling his hands down before I blasted it again at him like a man wielding a squirt bottle at a bad kitty. We repeated this process a few times before the thing was finally out of juice, at which point I dropped the damn thing to the floor. It clattered there, breaking the awkward silence in the cab between us before Chris finally said, “Are you done, honker donkers? I gotta cast my spell.”
“You aren’t going to cast anything, Chris. We are getting out of here right now, and you are never seeing that hack again.” I jammed the keys in the ignition as Chris started to screech, “dude, c’mon, he’s still out there, bro! Just give me 10 minutes and I can summon him back!” I didn’t humor the request, of course. I stepped down on the gas and pulled us out of the lot and started to put as many miles as I could between us and that truck stop. Chris seethed about it for a bit, threatening me with all sorts of magical incantations. His hand had begun to reach once again for his crotch, but my secret weapon had been spent. I needed another route and I needed it fast. Well, thankfully, my brain was working overtime today after our brief run in with this errant wizard. As Chris began to reach for his bruised mushroom wand so he could cast curses on my life (probably the only curse he actually cast on my life to be honest) I stopped him dead in his tracks with a little magic of my own. I said, “are you really gonna jack off to the thought of me, dude? That’s gay.”
Chris stuttered for a bit, declaring that it wasn’t gay. I didn’t let him have it, and insisted it was. I mean, isn’t it? He coped for a bit, declaring that “it’s not out of lust, bro. It’s out of dominance.” I didn’t let him have that either, remarking that he was still spanking it while thinking about another dude. I laid it out on thick then and asked him if he was going to make a habit out of beating off to the thought of me. He practically screeched, “fine! I won’t do it! I’ll just summon my master back,” to which I declared that that was even gayer, because it wasn’t out of dominance, but a desire to be surrounded by another man. I glanced out of my eye. Chris was as red as his giant, swollen ass, and I could tell that all he wanted to do was bash my head against the console at this point, but he knew full well that if he cast fist, we would both be dying today. I smiled smugly in triumph as the poopycum man grappled with several realizations that day about the nature of charlatans and their magic and his own flustered sexuality.
The rest of the trip passed without relative incidence, and we made our way back to the California yard. I swear, you had never seen me run faster from that truck that day. Well, that’s probably not entirely true. As I walked away, I heard Chris hit the pavement with a loud “oof” and then his lilting, phlegm-choked voice came drifting on to the breeze. “Hey honker donkers,” he called after me, “I’m not gay, dude. It’s just magic.” I waved my hand dismissively as I walked, pausing only to soak in the confused look of a couple of other dudes walking through the yard who happened to overhear this choice one liner.
And that, my friends, concludes today’s story about Chris. I can hear the real world a calling my name and so it’s time for me to take my leave. But don’t you all worry, because I’ll be back in the not too distant future with yet another story about that guy we love to hate, Chris.

2023.06.06 05:21 Pistachiyox [Trigger Warning] I almost killed myself tonight, and last night, and the night before.
I am actively suicidal. I have reasons not to do it (My family would be destroyed, and hell of course) but those reasons are susceptible to crumbling at any given moment when you've been so depressed for so long. You begin to justify both as not being "that bad" and "temporary consequences". I work from home and did absolutely nothing today and stared at the wall for hours contemplating how nothing I do in the next few hours would matter if I was just going to kill myself later tonight. Today is another day out of months and months and months of convincing myself that killing myself is not an option. I beg Allah to kill me in my sleep, give me terminal cancer, etc. This is how depressed I am, and have been pretty much since I was a child. The ease has never arrived. I was promised ease after hardship but I cannot for the life of me get a break. I cannot wait around for ease in the afterlife, I need it now; I am on the verge of committing. I've prayed hours upon hours, woken up for tahajjud, cried to Allah, taken medications, tried to put myself out there socially, seen therapists, etc; I am still suffering. Tawakkul is putting in the work while also putting trust in Allah. I put in the work, and I am trying so hard to reach out to Allah to no avail. I am in a dangerous state of mind. I don't know what to do. I've been this bad for 5 years now, but I've been depressed my whole life. I have dealt with severe social anxiety , depression and OCD since I was a child. Literally the moment I hit puberty it all hit me like a truck. I did things that are horribly wrong in an effort to cope growing up, and I've asked for forgiveness since. I never got a chance to develop properly. Maybe I am being punished in this life for what I did to cope. The problem is, I will eventually lose it and justify killing myself. I've tried everything - I've tried so hard. I am trying not to ruin my family's lives - they already have a horrible life. As much as my brain convinces me they will get over it and be better off, I know I could literally end up killing my dad from the grief of losing me. I know he will blame himself. My mom has already lost a daughter due to physical illnesses. My sister is autistic (Independent but still, sensitive) and has no one besides me and my parents. I wasn't nice to my sister growing up because I resented her for not being a "normal" sister to befriend after being excluded and ostracized at school, and I have since tried to show her love every day. I don't want to retraumatize her with my death. She will be left in a house of ruin. I think my grandma might drop dead if I do it. With that being said, I don't want to have to suffer to this extent for the rest of my life. With that being said, none of this is stopping my brain from contemplating suicide. I don't know of a single girl in my entire community who suffers to the extent that I do. I know everyone has their challenges, but mine are soo horrifically unique that I am completely isolated in my grief.
I am SCARED. I am so so so so scared of what I will do or what I will have to endure in this life if I don't. I literally see the rest of my life being severe depression, severe contemplation of death, never getting married, never managing to make genuine friends, growing old, losing my parents, growing ill, and dying in a nursing home.
I don't know what to do.
Edit: I forgot to mention that I go through periods of complete incapability to pray. Of course I physically can, but I can't push myself to. I completely become dejected for days at a time and have to restart. This goes for everything though (Showering, working, agreeing to hang out with my one friend, etc). Additionally, I have developed such a disgust for my own face that I am doing plastic surgery tomorrow and have gotten lip fillers recently. I am not proud of this. I come from a very religious family and none of this is even in the realm of how I was raised. I am just... trying to live. But what is the point in living if I feel the need to do all of this to survive another day.

2023.06.06 05:17 Possible-Fox3570 AITA For Turning My Friends Against Another Friend For Doing Drugs
I (20F) have been friends with my best friend "Stacy" (20F) for 10 years now. Obviously like all friends so we have had our ups and downs, but that was all when we were younger. I was one of the only friends that stood next to her and helped her through her first pregnancy when we were both still in high school. She then got pregnant a year after we graduated. I helped her get a job at the place I was working at they offered both of us manager positions. She turned it down but I accepted. I eventually left and went to a better job in the field that I am studying in college now. She was halfway through her second pregnancy when I left.
That's when I started noticing issues but didn't say anything. For instance, she became very distant from me and wasn't really talking to me unless she needed something. She did have the baby about 2 months early and he stayed in the hospital for a little bit for having breathing issues but eventually, he did go home. She does not know who the father is. She is saying that the guy she is letting see the baby is the father. If he is the father, then he is not suitable to be around the baby but obviously, that's not my place to say, then he got her pregnant right before he went to jail. He was in for her whole pregnancy and then some. The first time I met him was around Christmas and didn't like him right off the bat.
I stopped by her house for something a few months ago and her mom told me that DSS was involved in something but I didn't tell my friend about because I saw it as something that if she wanted me to know she would have told me and I'm completely understanding with that stance.
A month goes by and I go to her neighbor's house to pick my sister up because she was over there with her friends that lived there. My friend never liked those people. I found it weird that she was with them, and again I didn't say anything. When we left my sister asked me when my friend was moving and I told her that I never knew my friend was moving. My friend never told me she was moving.
By the time I got home which was about 5 minutes at most, I went to text my friend and she had already removed me from all social media and she didn't have a phone number for me to text.
Weeks go by and I don't hear from her so I think we don't have a friendship anymore. I have her family on Facebook and talk to them often. They didn’t know that "Stacy" wasn’t speaking to me. A few weeks after not hearing from her a family member had posted saying that "Stacy" tested positive for meth and that DSS let her write the kids off to the new boyfriend's mother (the kids have different dads) who she nor the kids have ever met. Before she did that though she removed her mom off of that paper because she was convinced her mother and I told DSS about the meth. We didn’t. We didn’t even know about it until "Stacy" tested positive.
The day after she tested positive she and the boyfriend’s mother rented a U-haul truck and packed everything up of theirs including the kid's stuff. And the next day moved to Texas which is where the boyfriend and his family are originally from. Since the boyfriend was released from jail he can’t leave the county let alone the state so she is living with her kids and a bunch of people she doesn’t know in a state she doesn’t know. She does not speak to her family or me anymore. She still has her family on Facebook though and she just announced that she is pregnant with her third child.
I went to see her mom recently and she told me that “Stacy” had become very abusive to her oldest child who is 3 now both verbally and physically but absolutely loved the new baby. “Stacy” had also moved out of her mom's house, left the kids with her mom, and moved into the neighbor's shed.
My main concern is that DSS didn’t do a background check on the lady that she gave the kids at the DSS place after taking them from her mother. The lady that has them now has DUIs and charges for child endangerment. How DSS didn’t see this we don’t know.
A lot of people have been reaching out to me and asking how “Stacy” is doing, including her old co-workers. Nobody knew anything. All they knew was that she had to move suddenly. So when they ask I have been telling them the honest trust. She is on meth. And that she is pregnant again and still using it.
AITA?

2023.06.06 03:16 smiley_y_y How can I let go of having so much relationship anxiety? (This is a looong story, so buckle up, it's a doozy)
All my (28F) life, I've always had anxiety (and depression), especially when it comes to relationships. I was always jealous of females who would talk to my partners during my teenage and young adult years. I acknowledged the toxicity in that, and wanted to better myself, so I did.
In September of 2019, I moved across the country (NC -> WA) to live with my boyfriend (27M) at the time, and we were together for almost three years. During that time, we adopted two cats and took one in from outside. A year and a half into our relationship we decided to get a house. We weren't married, and he was in the military, so he bought the house, and my name wasn't on the mortgage. Two years into our relationship, he made friends with two people online (younger female and older male,
if that matters) and they all played video games together a lot. I was super happy for my ex, because he didn't really have a lot of friends.
The anxious thoughts trickled into the back of my head, but I pushed them away, because I told myself I would be better. I wanted to do better for me and for our relationship. I would occasionally ask for reassurance, of course, because I still struggled from time to time. And he would always tell me basically what I wanted to hear;
everything was fine and nothing was going on.
One day while my ex and I were playing an online game (that has an in-game party chat audio, and we were also on
Discord)(we had separate gaming rooms), I was unaware at first, but he had gotten a phone call from the girl and muted himself on Discord but not on the in-game party chat, and the way he spoke with her was a little more than friendly. It was only after a few times of me "responding" to him and getting no response, that I knew he was talking to someone else. And it took me less than a second to realize that I was 99% sure it was her, after hearing the way he was talking. Apparently something was bothering her and he was consoling her. On the brink of angry tears, I stormed over and demanded an answer as to who it was, and what was going on. He told me it was her, but denied there being any feelings or that anything was going on, that she was just going through a really hard time and needed a friend,
blah-blah-blah. And I chose to believe him.
Another time maybe a week or two after that, we had a pretty large discussion one time that i needed reassurance and went as far as to degrade the girl by saying that he wouldn't be with her because of "her size" and that he "could hear her breathing heavily on the mic." That kind of raised some flags, because I know when people go into denial, they'll say things like that. But again, I turned a blind eye, and chose to believe him.
I just wanted to show him that I trusted him for his word.
Bad mistake on my part.
Deep down I still always had a gut feeling about them. I tried to push it away, but it never
truly went away.
My ex, his two friends, and I all stream(ed) on
Twitch. You can make money off streaming (they only pay out if you hit at least a $100 threshold by the end of the month, and you get paid on the 15th of every month I believe), and it automatically saves your previous broadcasts for up to 7 or 14 days (I can't remember). My ex and I were on a streaming hiatus, but his female friend streamed. Occasionally I would pull up a past stream of hers and listen to the conversation between the two of them.
One morning in early May '22, after my ex went to work, I pulled up one of her past streams and was listening, and I hear them talking about him getting out of the military in a year and other normal things like that. She asked him about what he was planning to do with the house once he got out and he said something about keeping it and collecting equity for a little while. She then replies, "but, you live with your
ex."
Mind you, we NEVER said
ANYTHING about breaking up. We told each other we loved each other on a regular basis, y'know, normal relationship things. So there was no established break up. We were still together, but apparently not according to him when talking to her about us.
I continued to listen to more of their conversations. About how he would send her "
sexy messages," and she would obnoxiously say how hot he was for doing certain things on the game. And I think that was feeding his ego, made him feel better about himself.
Everything shattered inside me. I was an emotional wreck.
I texted him that we needed to talk. He tried calling, asking what was going on, things like that, but I refused to tell him anything. I knew if I told him anything, it would've given him time to come up with some lame lies to tell me to weasel his way out of the whole thing.
When he got back home (he came home from work early), we started talking. Not about the incident at first. But he told me he felt like things weren't the best between us, he "cried" (at this point, I'm not sure that it was even real), I cried.
And then we talked about the
incident. His reasoning was that it felt like there was just about nothing left between us, that it felt like I didn't love him anymore. I never meant to make him feel like that. He may have been saying that truthfully, or that may have been a poor, made-up excuse for what he did. But throughout our relationship I constantly told him I loved him, and occasionally would try to do nice things for him, like buy him a small gift at the store if it made me think of him.
He also confessed to it being two other women as well, including an ex that I'd also had suspicions about.
There was also talk about whether she knew we were actually together or not. He once told me that the girl saw my profile and "thought [I was] pretty." He then (after we had talked about the
incident) said that I guess she had noticed I had taken my relationship info off my bio on Twitch. Which puzzled me; if she had noticed that it was on there prior, did that mean that she knew we were actually together? I couldn't tell if it was him lying or her being a homewrecker, or both.
I will say that towards the end of our relationship, we were both burnt out.
Tired of existing. We didn't keep up with cleaning the house and really only ate take-out/delivery, so that definitely didn't help. But I never wanted to give up on us. I still wanted to be with him. I knew we were just going through a rough patch, or so I thought.
For the following few weeks after the
incident, I was consistently nauseous, I vomited a few times, and food seemed unappealing, which is
very strange for me; I'm a foodie. I didn't feel like doing anything except laying in bed - the only bed in the house - the one we shared.
We went through a limbo stage, not knowing if we should stay together or split up. After speaking with his mother about it (for advice) she recommended that we split up but work on each other, and if we decided to get back together, then it would happen.
Part of my depression/anxiety stemmed from worrying if I was going to be able to bring the cats back to NC with me. I wasn't financially able to live on my own, and my parents have always welcomed me with open arms if I needed to come back, no questions asked. In the past, maybe a few years before moving to WA, they wouldn't let me have/keep a cat. So I was so worried that they wouldn't let me keep my boys. I had grown so close to them, I couldn't stand to part with them. They're like my children, as I don't have any.
My ex was willing to let me stay for a long as I needed, which I appreciated greatly. I wasn't ready to tell my parents about the incident, because I knew my mother would book the next flight out and scoop me up. And mentally I couldn't handle the thought of being told I couldn't bring my boys back with me. So I withheld it from them for about a month.
Once I told them, they had no issues with me bringing the boys home with me. They knew the bond I'd created with them. That was a
huge weight off my chest and shoulders.
He helped me pack, and back home I went. I had to leave a few things behind (including a couple of packed boxes), as I was only taking my
'16 Ford Fusion across the country. He agreed to sending me the boxes later on.
Fast forward to the end of last August. It would've almost been our three year anniversary. One of my boys, the first one my ex and I adopted, had to go to an emergency vet and at the end, we (both) decided euthanasia was the best course of action. I had him cremated the next day, and got his ashes back in a beautiful metal urn. I paid for the vet visit put of pocket, as well as the cremation. He helped cover a small portion of the cremation.
He had pet insurance on the boys, so I asked if the vet visit could be reimbursed by the insurance company. I sent him the paperwork that they needed, and played the waiting game on if it would be approved or not.
January of this year, I sent him money for the shipping of the second box.
Early February I reached out
again, and he said the insurance company approved it for the entire amount and that he was waiting on them to send the check.
Towards the end of February, I reached out
yet again to ask about the status, he said he would send me the money back as he could. He said he needed it to fix the transmission on a truck he'd been using. I'm a little peeved at this point. That was MY MONEY. He could've at
least given me a heads up, or even
asked. Is it that hard to be a decent, considerate human being?
After trying to talk to him multiple times, mid-March rolls around and I ask him to send at least SOME of the money. He said that he would send some to me when he got paid from Twitch. So I waited some more.
But that was the last time I'd get a message from him.
I went as far as to pop into a live stream of his and ask why he hasn't responded to me, and got blatantly ignored.
I have no idea what happened, why he all of a sudden stopped responding to me. To my knowledge, I did nothing wrong. He's the one who cheated on me. And then decides to steal money I sent him to ship
my belongings, that we agreed on him sending, and the money that was spent at the vet office visit that I paid for.
I'm so frustrated, so infuriated. I would never have done such a thing to him, even after everything he had done to me prior.
I do not deserve this. And I can't seem to let any of it go.
I'm now in a relationship with someone else, and we currently live together.
I'm still so angry at my ex, and the infidelity in my past relationship has left me anxious in this relationship. I feel as though I'm not adequate enough. My self-esteem is shot. I'm on edge just about every day.
I don't want to be like that. It's not fair to me and it certainly isn't fair to my current partner.
And that also angers me. Not only has my ex screwed me over financially, but mentally/emotionally as well.
I wish that he would just pay me back and send me the rest of my belongings, and that I could somehow miraculously get over the infidelity. But sadly, that's not how reality is.
Can anyone offer any assistance with... how to fix my brain I guess?
I know this was an
e x t r e m e l y long post, so if you stuck around to read it all, I appreciate you.

2023.06.06 01:59 BGherkins I’m cutting ties with my dad
Okay this is gonna be a lot but i want to get it out. My dad and I have had a really complicated relationship ever since I moved in with him at 11. He’s a heavy drinker and very “tough love”, and tho he’s changed some what, he’s still manipulative and very angry.
He invited me and my gf to this bar by my apartment, said he and my stepmom and my uncle were all going there and if we want we can too. My gf and I just got approved for an apartment and I’ve actually been very broke for the past three weeks, so I told him that and that we can’t go. He said they could pay for our drinks if we wanted to. I hate rejecting invites to hang out, I feel bad doing that, so we went. It’s an arcade bar btw. The first hour there was fine, we played pinball and drank, my dad was already drunk there but he wasn’t being rude. Now, my dad and I and my uncle and few other family friends have started a business and went in on a hotdog cart, we’ve been working on this for about a year and a half and actually just sent out permit application last week with the payment. Anyone who’s started a food truck will know it takes a while to get approved and it’s a long investment to start. Well my dads pretty wasted and loud, and he’s talking about what if we worked with this bar and sold food here and we’re like okay we’re open to it but here’s some criticisms. He doesn’t like that and is getting more and more irritated. My gf comes over every now and then and asks if I’m gonna be done soon cos she wants to play pinball with me and hang, but every time she comes up my dad stops talking and turns his head away from her. Then we go outside (just me my dad and my uncle) and talk business, he yells at this dude who tells them they can’t bring their drinks outside, being a real asshole, and shortly after me and my gf leave. I’ve decided to cut him off and just focus on our apartment, I’ve resigned from the business and I’ve talked with all my friends and they all agree he’s abusive and toxic. And as a Cherry on top, he throws the $60 back at me, saying he has to pay me to hang out. I only took it because I wanted to hang out, i didn’t want his money. He offered I thought he was being generous. Okay that’s my rant, I’m sorry it’s stream of consciousness but I’ve been anxious all day today. Btw this was all last night, and I’ve blocked him and told him to leave me alone. I’m gonna drop off a letter at his house and just go on with my life after that.

2023.06.06 00:27 Mean-Classic-7739 I hunt monsters pt.2
I hunted monsters for an international anomaly research center Part 2 I decided instead of telling you about the next monster I’d planned I will tell you all what I did last week. I’d heard about this anomaly before, but that was because it was contained. Not by our organization but by one we work closely with. They’d been keeping it well in their Puerto Rico containment facility, but it managed to escape during a power outage. They’d insisted on trying to capture it themselves for a couple of days before they finally let me come in. Normally I’d be mad that they couldn’t catch it, but the Scape Ore Swamp Lizard Man is no walk in the park. Standing 10 feet long, 8 feet tall, and pure muscle this thing is practically a walking tank. It has an almost inch-thick hide of small black snake-like scales. It stands on two legs but can switch to four when needed. It has a large head with a long muzzle full of sharp venomous teeth. Its face is always contorted into a scowl adding to its frightful appearance. Its back is covered in large spiked scutes which start at the head to the tip of the tail. On its two large four-fingered hands are two-inch-long nasty claws. They deployed me the same way as always, and I landed with a light thud on the jungle floor after I was unlatched from the parachute and harness. I looked out at the darkening jungle around me. My search would be far from easy. I knew that, as I needed more information about where it was. However, after getting my sniper railgun ready I began my pursuit. My pursuit was aimless and tiring. I had no direction, and the heat was slowly burning me alive. The jungle was full of loud squawking birds. At one point I looked up and saw in the evening light a small group of bats flying overhead. I walked slowly and steadily scanning the quickly darkening ground for something, but as I suspected there was nothing in sight. No sigh from the lizardman. I walked on and on until finally, I found something. They were large three-toed tracks that almost looked like ones a T-rex would’ve made. My heart leaped in joy and excitement and I began following the footprints. They were easy to follow as the heavy feet had sunk deep into the wet muddy ground of the jungle. They followed no path and almost walked the way I had been walking aimlessly. Until like me, it seemed to have found something to follow. Its path led in an almost perfect straight line, having trampled almost anything that wasn’t a tree out of its way. I noticed as I followed its tracks large claw marks in the trees. There were three and they were long and deep. I followed for a good long while still tired but my determination had increased 10 fold now that there was a path to follow. As I walked along I began to hear something off in the distance. It was so faint it was hard to discern. At first, I thought it might be some sort of birdcall, but then it clicked in my head. It screamed. I started running as fast as I could through the jungle tripping at one point but pulling myself back up. Eventually, I found myself running into a field. What I saw in that field I’ll never forget. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve never been bothered by dead humans before. In my youth when I’d go to funerals seeing the body never disturbed me. I’d be sure but the body itself never made me uncomfortable. And after I got this job I got completely desensitized, but something about dead animals. I could never handle seeing a dead animal. I don’t know exactly why. I guess it’s because it brought me back to my childhood. My dad was born in Mexico in 1979, but he and his family moved to Puerto Rico 3 years later. My dad lived in Puerto Rico during the horrifying but short reign of the Chupacabra. When I was little he would tell me stories about it. Fields of livestock just on the ground dead wholly drained of blood. Those stories actually started me down the route of where I am today, but I don’t think I ever really comprehended what that looked like until I saw the massacre in the field I was now in. It almost seemed as though a sheet of blood and muscle and meat had fallen over the field. It was absolutely everywhere and dispersed throughout this massacre I could see small bits of bones. Vertebrae there, or a rib over there. It almost looked like they’d all exploded from the inside at the same time, but I know that is not what happened. I saw the footprints in the ground, I saw the claw marks in the bones. I knew the only thing that could’ve done this was the horrible beast I was hunting. I walked around through the massacre for a while in a sort of shock. Then I finally snapped out of it and looked around again. I saw a house separated only by a now broken wood fence to the field. I instantly knew where the screams had come from and what had likely happened. I ran toward the house and a story began to unfold as I got closer. The father or man of the house must’ve come outside to defend his family because I found his body ripped apart just outside the front door. I stepped over the body and walked into the tiny house. It was absolutely destroyed. The walls were torn apart, furniture was left shattered on the ground, and there was lots of blood. I looked over and saw a partial body on the living room floor. I grimaced when I realized the poor thing had once been a big dog. Now it was nothing but torn meat and bones. One step at a time I made my way to the back of the house down a cramped hallway. In the bedrooms were the destroyed bodies of a woman and three children. The only peace I had was that these people died quickly. I noticed at the end of the hall was a shattered glass backdoor. I stepped through it, almost slipping on the shards of glass still on the floor, and walked into the backyard. It was a tiny cleared area surrounded by trees. The ground was littered with small dog toys and in the corner was a chicken coop. The roof of it had been ripped off and shattered. I peeked in through the hole and saw lots of blood-covered eggs. It looked like, unlike the other animals, the lizardman had actually stopped eating all the chickens. Maybe all of that butchering worked up an appetite. I thought. After calling in for the investigation crew I continued on my trail. The sun had completely set and navigated the dense jungle even with my bright headlight showing the way. Not long into it rain began pouring which completely covered the tracks. In frustration, I turned around and made my way back to the farm. Suddenly I heard something from the treetops. It sounded almost like a faint growl and before I could do anything else the large figure of the Lizardman jumped from the trees right in front of me. It immediately slashed at my chest and left arm tearing them open causing blood to start pouring through. I let out a scream of agony and fell to the ground. With my good right arm, I reached for a gadget on my belt and pressed it. It instantly began spraying a strong wonderful smell of flowers into the air. If there’s one thing the lizardman cannot tolerate it is sweet solid smells. It roared in anger and then sprinted in the other direction. I lay there blood seeping from my wounds wondering if I was about to die. I’m not old, only 26, but for my line of work, I’m ancient; about half the guys die on their first or second mission. If you survive the first two you will probably last much longer, but even then people die within two years meanwhile I’ve been here for 5 years. I lay there with my eyes slowly growing heavier and heavier and then they closed and I was consumed by the darkness. I woke up in a bright white room. The light was so blinding I kept blinking but still could hardly see anything. I noticed a woman standing in the room who was like the room wearing all white. “Am I dead?” I sputtered out in my half-dazed confusion. The woman let out a slight chuckle: “No you’re not dead. You’re in the medical wing of our Puerto Rican location.” She explained. As she was talking everything seemed to clear around me. It was a small hospital room and the woman was short in a doctor's coat with dark hair tied in a bun. “Who’s we?” I asked. “USDAC,” She said, busy with something at her table. I knew USDAC they were the United States Department of Anomaly Containment. They were the ones the Lizardman had escaped from. “Where’s my organization? Why didn’t they send the team out to get me?” I asked angrily. “I’m not quite sure. They never even told us you went down. Our investigation team was looking around the jungle when they found you.” She said with a genuinely confused look on her face. I scanned the room again and saw on a chair next to my bed all my gear laid out nicely. I reached for my walkie, grabbed it, and pulled it off of my belt. “This is Trigger to dispatch, do you copy?” I asked through the device. “We copy, you aren’t dead?” The receiver asked, obviously very confused. “Not yet. Why didn’t you send the team out to get me?” I asked more confused than angry at this point. “They said you were gone. They said the lizardman had got you.” He said. “Well, he hasn’t got me yet,” I said defiantly then hung up. “Mam, I’m going to go finish what I started, but I am going to need a few things.” I suppose a few things were a bit of an understatement. I had them get the best tracker they could find out here, which they quickly got to do. I got a whole new set of equipment more specialized for the task at hand I filed a hasty but fierce resignation letter to my organization siting leaving me for dead as the primary cause. They never even got back to me and needless to say, I was pissed. I knew the moment USDAC found out I was no longer part of the organization they’d send me away, so I decided I’d better be quick with this operation. I pulled the small Uhaul full of supplies down the dirt road. Next to me sat Santiago, an older Native American man with a long black salt and pepper braided ponytail. He’d worked with both my organization and USDAC for a number of years and had much experience in tracking beasties like this one. “So, where exactly are we going?” I asked looking at him. “Well we’re going to the most recent attack and I’m hoping to get there by noon so if you could step on it that would be lovely.” He said sounding rather harsh. I nodded and pushed slightly more on the accelerator. I would’ve started flying down this road but this truck was not built for dirt roads so I had to do my best. As I drove Santiago busied himself with a map. I watched out of the corner of my eye as he put small red x’s on certain spots. I assumed those were the previous attacks. Occasionally he would look up from his work to make sure I was still going in the right direction and finally, after he directed me to turn onto a smaller more unkept dirt road we arrived at the farm. It was eerily similar to the other. The house was destroyed and the field was full of massacred goats. Although the main difference was this one was swarming with USDAC investigation teams. Four big black vans were parked in front of the home, almost blocking my view. I stopped the truck and me and Santiago both stepped out. We walked over to the house and one of the investigators met us at the door. He was tall with a weathered face and a strong chin that made him look like an actor. He had nicely done silver hair, stubble, and hazel eyes. A slight grin appeared on his face when he saw us. “You two must be the hunters, I’m Detective Slade.” He greeted, sticking his hand out for a shake. I took his hand first. “Hello Slade, I’m Agent Biel,” I said shaking his hand with Santiago quickly doing the same. After we finished with formalities Slade led us around the house and into the field behind it. It felt like deja vu looking at the field. It told almost the exact same story mine did. Dozens of torn-apart goats and a small now empty chicken coop. I looked at all of it in disgust. The animals had no time to defend themselves they were just destroyed. Santiago began scanning the mess on the ground looking for tracks to follow. Meanwhile, I stood talking with Slade. “This is the eighth attack in four days, it looks like it’s making two attacks every night.” Slade explained, “So far it has killed 37 people, 650 goats, 242 cows, and has eaten almost 300 chickens.” “Have you noticed a pattern?” I asked. “Besides attacking at night not really. It usually attacks the fields first, but even that isn’t always the case.” “I found something.” Santiago interrupted. He stood by the edge of the field that met the jungle. I saw the large tracks of the beast leading into the jungle. **Me and Santiago lugged the heavy equipment through the jungle we were tired and hot, but we continued knowing that the lizardman was likely close by. The sun had begun to sink low in the sky as we marched on. I was surprised at the path of the lizardman it had literally walked a straight line for miles upon miles. Only ever turning for a large tree or a hill. We were hoping we would get to the things nest before it went on its next night excursion but we weren’t extremely hopeful. I could only hope that the wretched thing was still wherever it rests.** **Suddenly their hike was interrupted by a loud call. I looked above to see a large tropical bird eyeing me from a branch. It was brightly colored vaguely reminding me of a parrot. Oddly I gave the bird a nod and then caught up to Santiago who’d ignored the bird and kept walking.** **Eventually, the sun set and we both had to turn our lights on. My body was beginning to grow heavy and I could tell it was the same for Santiago, but right as we seemed to the point of giving up we arrived at the edge of a lake. It was small and had short sandy beaches separating it from the jungle. Perfectly outlined in the sand were the feet of the lizardman. It had clear as day walked straight into the lake. We both looked at each other. He was clearly as unsure about the situation as I was. We stood there contemplating when I noticed something.** **The lake had a few logs floating in it but one didn’t look like the other. It was far too symmetrical. I scanned my light over it and realized the texture I’d thought of as bark was actually scaled. Then suddenly my light scanned over to the head and its bright red eyes opened wide. It let out a roar and started swimming toward us. I dropped my bag and hurriedly put my remaining gear on. Santiago dropped his and took aim with his rifle.** **BANG! The shot echoed through the quiet air and I saw it clearly hit the thing right in the center of the forehead. The bullet tinked off like it had hit thick steel. The Lizardman swam closer and as the water got shallower it transitioned from swimming to sprinting. The second it took a step on shore I struck. I slammed one of my gauntlet-bearing fists into the thing's face. There was a loud audible crack as it fell over. It quickly stood back up and slashed at my thick steel armor. It did nothing but scrape off some paint and I pulled my fist back and punched it again. It stumbled again and before it could recover I punched it again and again.** **Immediately after the punch it lunged forward its jaws latching on to either side of my helmet. I heard the sounds of it and felt the metal beginning to bend in on itself. I kicked the thing where I knew it would hurt. It unlatched from my face and I uppercut it right in the lower jaw. It fell into the water letting out a whimper-type noise as it did.** **I stood over the beast having misjudged it as defeated. In a second wind, it grabbed me by the leg and threw me into a tree. I heard my suit crack and crunch having been badly damaged. The lizardman started over at me threateningly and in a quick burst of speed it charged over to me.** **BANG! BANG! BANG! His first shot struck the side of its head getting its attention, and as it turned the second bullet struck it directly in its left eye. The third and final bullet struck its nose harmlessly. It roar in pain and charged towards Santiago, but I jumped up and grabbed it by the tail. I held it still for a moment before it did something that caught me off, guard. It turned around and bit off its own tail. It then continued charging toward Santiago. His bullets struck it again and again but its hide was far too strong. Quickly I dropped the tail and pulled out a canister pulling the pin and throwing it. A wonderful smell erupted from it as it soared through the air and landed right in front of Santiago.** **The Lizardman backed away from him dizzy from the overpowering smell. I pulled myself off the ground and charged towards it. I jumped on top of the thing pinning it to the ground.** **“Meds!” I yelled to him as the Lizardman was already struggling.** **Santiago reached into its mouth that I held open and shoved the tranquilizer down its throat. After another minute of shaking and struggling it finally blacked out. I pulled out my walkie and called in dispatch.** **“The lizard is down,” I said simply.** **Within minutes they had a dozen helicopters out there and had the creature properly restrained.** **I walked over to the man who appeared to be in charge. He was average height with blonde hair combed to the side, aviator glasses, and a nice gray suit. “I’d recommend you step up the security on that thing,” I suggested.** **He turned around and looked at me for a moment, almost studying me.**
“We will be.” He said finally. “I am personally seeing that it is brought to our most secure location.” “Good, good, I don’t want to ever deal with that thing again.” I chuckled. He looked closer at me after I said that and it seemed to click in his head who I was. “Agent Biel, I’m very happy to see you. I got word of your resignation at UARF.” He said sounding oddly sad. I prepared for the worst as I was technically not supposed to be here. “Yeah, I wasn’t exactly happy with being left for dead,” I grumbled. “Well sir I promise if you take my offer you won’t be left for dead,” He said smiling now. I paused for a moment unsure what he meant. Then it seemed to click he was hiring me and I took his hand and shook it vigorously. “I do accept your offer, sir,” I yelled excitedly. “You can call me Dr.Barclay,” He said politely shaking my hand back. So that is how I was hired here at USDAC and I’ve already discovered that they do things quite differently here but that is a story for another day. Biel out. submitted by

I hunted monsters for an international anomaly research center
Part 2
I decided instead of telling you about the next monster I’d planned I will tell you all what I did last week.
After calling in for the investigation crew I continued on my trail. The sun had completely set and navigated the dense jungle even with my bright headlight showing the way. Not long into it rain began pouring which completely covered the tracks. In frustration, I turned around and made my way back to the farm.

“They said you were gone. They said the lizardman had got you.” He said.
“Well, he hasn’t got me yet,” I said defiantly then hung up.
“Mam, I’m going to go finish what I started, but I am going to need a few things.”
I suppose a few things were a bit of an understatement.
“This is the eighth attack in four days, it looks like it’s making two attacks every night.” Slade explained, “So far it has killed 37 people, 650 goats, 242 cows, and has eaten almost 300 chickens.”
“Have you noticed a pattern?” I asked.
“Besides attacking at night not really. It usually attacks the fields first, but even that isn’t always the case.”
“I found something.” Santiago interrupted.
He stood by the edge of the field that met the jungle. I saw the large tracks of the beast leading into the jungle.

We both looked at each other. He was clearly as unsure about the situation as I was. We stood there contemplating when I noticed something.
The lake had a few logs floating in it but one didn’t look like the other. Santiago dropped his and took aim with his rifle.
BANG! It stumbled again and before it could recover I punched it again and again.
Immediately after the punch it lunged forward its jaws latching on to either side of my helmet. I heard the sounds of it and felt the metal beginning to bend in on itself. I kicked the thing where I knew it would hurt. It unlatched from my face and I uppercut it right in the lower jaw. It fell into the water letting out a whimper-type noise as it did.
I stood over the beast having misjudged it as defeated. In a second wind, it grabbed me by the leg and threw me into a tree. I heard my suit crack and crunch having been badly damaged. The lizardman started over at me threateningly and in a quick burst of speed it charged over to me.
BANG! BANG! BANG! His first shot struck the side of its head getting its attention, and as it turned the second bullet struck it directly in its left eye. A wonderful smell erupted from it as it soared through the air and landed right in front of Santiago.
The Lizardman backed away from him dizzy from the overpowering smell. I pulled myself off the ground and charged towards it. I jumped on top of the thing pinning it to the ground.
“Meds!” I yelled to him as the Lizardman was already struggling.
Santiago reached into its mouth that I held open and shoved the tranquilizer down its throat. After another minute of shaking and struggling it finally blacked out. I pulled out my walkie and called in dispatch.
“The lizard is down,” I said simply.
Within minutes they had a dozen helicopters out there and had the creature properly restrained.
I walked over to the man who appeared to be in charge. He was average height with blonde hair combed to the side, aviator glasses, and a nice gray suit. “I’d recommend you step up the security on that thing,” I suggested.
He turned around and looked at me for a moment, almost studying me.
“We will be.” He said finally. “I am personally seeing that it is brought to our most secure location.”
“Good, good, I don’t want to ever deal with that thing again.” I chuckled.
Biel out.

We live in a small town with lots of tight packed houses, where almost every yard has at least one barking dog at the gate, and my little guy is very reactive to them, goes mad, stays stressed for the whole walk after an incident. So all our walks are a car ride away, until we reach the main road, where there's distance between the sidewalk and the houses, and i already know which ones have dogs and which don't. But the problem is here we have cars, trucks, bikes, and ocasional dogs, all of which he reacts to, either barks, lunges, or pulls like mad on the lead. All spring i've taken him on 2 nearby fields for his walks, super chill, loved it. But after our last walk there, i found a tick on him, so not gonna go there until the cold kills all those suckers.
So i had to find an alternative. Decided to take a shot at the big city, find some quiet streets and walk him there. I was not surprised when i saw that everybody and their grandma walks their dog at that hour in the city, also bikes, kids, cars still fill the place (who knew). BUT i was very surprised to see that my little teenage hellspawn is very much a different dog here. We met so many dogs these days, some nice meet, greet, continue onward, both leashed and not , some growled (poor scared chiuhahua) , some growls from mine towards a havanese(both testy unneutered males), with a quick disengage, some we just stared and, but dissengaged when called, or dragged a bit(can't win them.all). No lunging, barking, or going balistic and staying stressed for hours and days. Some lady with a cute little dog even nearly pet him( she reached her hand about 5 cm from his head before i stopped her, told her that while he likes her dog, he does not like humans that much). He was spooked, but did not try to nip or bark, went back to the dog and tried to initiate some play, then willingly sniffed the leg of the lady's husband, and dissengaged and we went on our way. I honestly did not want this walk to end heh.
We've been incorporating LAT and some BAT into his training, but i think mostly this success comes from not walking him in the enviroment where he had lots of bad encounters and where he rehersed his reactivity

2023.06.05 22:43 ptorres324 Demon King Finn Balor as a Superhero Story
| DEMON KING Finn Balor was a normal human being, until one day he discovered a strange tattoo on his chest. It was a red symbol that looked like a pair of wings and a tail. He had no idea where it came from or what it meant, but he felt a strange connection to it. He soon realized that the tattoo was not just a decoration, but a mark of a powerful entity that lived inside him. The entity called itself the Demon, and it claimed to be an ancient spirit of chaos and destruction. It said that it had chosen Finn as its host, and that it could grant him incredible strength and speed, but at a price. The Demon wanted to take over Finn's body and mind, and use him as a vessel to unleash its wrath on the world. It said that Finn had to surrender to it willingly, or it would force its way out. The Demon also warned Finn that if he resisted, he would suffer unbearable pain and madness. Finn was terrified by the Demon's words, but he also felt a curiosity and a temptation. He wondered what it would be like to have such power, and what he could do with it. He also wondered if he could control the Demon, or at least coexist with it peacefully. He decided to test the Demon's abilities, and see for himself what it could do. He went to a local wrestling gym, where he met some of his friends who were also wrestlers. He challenged them to a friendly match, and activated the Demon's power. As soon as he did, he felt a surge of energy coursing through his veins. His muscles bulged, his eyes glowed red, and his tattoo spread all over his body. He looked like a demonic version of himself, with horns, fangs, claws, and scales. He also felt a change in his personality. He became more aggressive, confident, and ruthless. He didn't care about the rules or the safety of his opponents. He wanted to dominate them, hurt them, and make them fear him. He easily defeated his friends, who were shocked and scared by his transformation. They tried to reason with him, but he ignored them. He only listened to the Demon's voice in his head, which urged him to continue his rampage. He left the gym, and headed to the streets. He saw people running away from him in panic, but he didn't care. He felt invincible and unstoppable. He felt like he was the king of the world. He was wrong. He soon encountered a group of criminals, who were robbing a bank. They had guns and explosives, and they were threatening to kill the hostages if anyone tried to stop them. They saw Finn approaching them, and they laughed at his appearance. "Look at this freak! What are you supposed to be? A Halloween costume?" They fired at him, but the bullets bounced off his skin. He laughed at their futile attempts, and charged at them. He grabbed one of them by the neck, and lifted him off the ground. He looked into his eyes, and saw fear and pain. He smiled wickedly, and squeezed harder. He was about to snap his neck, when he heard a scream. "Please! Don't hurt him! He's my brother!" It was one of the hostages, who had recognized the criminal as her sibling. She had been forced to join him in the robbery by their abusive father, who had threatened to kill them if they didn't obey him. She ran towards Finn, and pleaded with him to spare her brother's life. Finn felt her touch, and heard her voice. He felt a wave of emotion wash over him. He remembered who he was, and what he had done. He realized that he had gone too far. He dropped the criminal, who gasped for air. He turned around, and looked at the hostage's face. He saw fear and gratitude in her eyes. He also saw blood on her shirt. He looked down, and saw that she had been shot in the chest by one of the other criminals when she ran towards him. She was bleeding profusely. He gasped in horror. "What have I done?" He let go of her, and ran to her side. He tried to stop the bleeding with his hands. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..." He felt the Demon's power fading away from him. His body returned to normal. His tattoo disappeared. He also felt the Demon's anger and disappointment in him. "You fool... You weakling... You traitor..." The Demon's voice echoed in his mind. "You had everything... You had me... And you threw it all away... For her..." The Demon spat out one last word before leaving him alone. "Coward..." Finn sobbed uncontrollably. He had lost everything. He had lost himself. But he also gained something. He gained a new purpose. He realized that he had been given a gift, not a curse. He realized that he could use the Demon's power for good, not evil. He realized that he could be a hero, not a villain. He decided to make a vow. He vowed to never let the Demon take over him again. He vowed to only use the Demon's power when he needed to protect the innocent and fight the wicked. He vowed to be the master of the Demon, not its slave. He vowed to be the Demon King. DEMON KING II Finn Balor had become the Demon King, a superhero who used the power of the Demon to fight crime and injustice. He had learned to control the Demon's influence, and only unleashed it when he needed to. He had also made a secret identity for himself, as a journalist who worked for a local newspaper. He had also found love. He had saved the life of the hostage who was shot in the chest by the criminals, and they had fallen in love. Her name was Leah, and she was a nurse who worked at a nearby hospital. She knew about his secret, and supported him in his mission. They were happy together, but they also faced many challenges. They had to deal with the Demon's resentment and jealousy, which sometimes tried to sabotage their relationship. They also had to deal with the enemies that Finn had made as the Demon King, who wanted to destroy him and everything he cared about. One of these enemies was a mysterious figure known as the Dark Lord. He was a powerful and evil mastermind who controlled a vast criminal empire. He had a personal vendetta against Finn, because he was the one who had given him the Demon's mark in the first place. The Dark Lord had been searching for the Demon for centuries, hoping to harness its power for his own nefarious purposes. He had experimented on countless people, trying to implant them with the Demon's essence. But none of them could survive the process, or resist the Demon's will. He had finally found Finn, who was the perfect host for the Demon. He had kidnapped him and tortured him, trying to break his spirit and make him submit to him. He had also branded him with the Demon's mark, hoping to bind him to his will. But he had underestimated Finn's strength and courage. Finn had managed to escape from his clutches, and vowed to stop him from harming anyone else. He had also discovered that he could use the Demon's power against him, as it gave him an edge over his enemies. The Dark Lord was furious and obsessed with Finn. He wanted to capture him again, and make him his slave. He wanted to take away everything he loved, and make him suffer. He wanted to make him pay for his defiance. He devised a plan to lure Finn into a trap. He sent one of his agents to infiltrate Leah's hospital, and plant a bomb in it. He then contacted Finn anonymously, and told him that he had one hour to save Leah and everyone else in the hospital, or they would all die. He also told him that he had to come alone, or he would detonate the bomb immediately. He said that he wanted to face him one-on-one, and settle their score once and for all. Finn was shocked and enraged by the Dark Lord's message. He knew that it was a trap, but he also knew that he couldn't ignore it. He loved Leah more than anything in the world, and he couldn't let her die. He decided to go to the hospital, and try to find and disarm the bomb. He also decided to activate the Demon's power, and prepare for a fight. He kissed Leah goodbye, and told her that he loved her. He also told her that he would be back soon. He hoped that he was telling the truth. ``` Finn Balor arrived at the hospital, and looked for the bomb. He used his enhanced senses to scan the building, and detected a faint signal coming from the basement. He followed it, and found a metal suitcase hidden behind some boxes. He opened it, and saw a digital timer counting down from 10 minutes. He also saw a complex wiring system connected to a large explosive device. He realized that he had no idea how to disarm it. He cursed under his breath, and tried to think of a solution. He wondered if he could use the Demon's power to destroy the bomb, but he feared that it would cause a bigger explosion. He wondered if he could call for help, but he remembered that the Dark Lord had threatened to blow up the bomb if he did. He decided to try to cut the wires, and hope for the best. He took out his pocket knife, and looked for the right wire to cut. He had seen some movies where they always cut the red wire, but he wasn't sure if that was true. He decided to take a chance, and cut the red wire. He was wrong. The timer sped up, and started counting down from 5 seconds. He panicked, and dropped the knife. He grabbed the suitcase, and ran towards the exit. He hoped that he could get out of the building before it exploded. He was wrong. The bomb went off, and sent a shockwave through the basement. The floor collapsed, and Finn fell into a dark abyss. He screamed, and activated the Demon's power. He hoped that it would protect him from the blast. He was right. The Demon's power shielded him from the fire and debris. He felt a surge of energy coursing through his veins. His muscles bulged, his eyes glowed red, and his tattoo spread all over his body. He looked like a demonic version of himself, with horns, fangs, claws, and scales. He also felt a change in his personality. He became more aggressive, confident, and ruthless. He didn't care about anything else but survival. He wanted to get out of there, and find the Dark Lord. He wanted to make him pay for what he had done. He used his claws to dig his way out of the rubble. He saw a hole in the ceiling, and jumped through it. He landed on the ground floor of the hospital, where he saw chaos and destruction. He saw people running away from him in panic, but he didn't care. He felt invincible and unstoppable. He felt like he was the king of the world. He was wrong. He soon encountered a group of superheroes, who had arrived at the scene to help the victims and stop the culprit. They had heard about the bomb threat, and had rushed to the hospital as fast as they could. They saw Finn emerging from the hole in the ceiling, and they recognized him as the Demon King. They knew that he was a hero who used his power for good, but they also knew that he was unstable and dangerous when he lost control. They decided to try to calm him down, and talk to him. "Hey! Finn! It's us! Your friends!" They shouted at him, hoping to get his attention. Finn heard their voices, but he didn't recognize them. He only saw enemies who wanted to stop him from reaching his goal. He ignored them, and continued walking towards the exit. They tried to block his way, but he pushed them aside with ease. They tried to restrain him with their powers, but he broke free with force. They tried to reason with him with their words, but he didn't listen to them. He only listened to the Demon's voice in his head, which urged him to continue his rampage. "Kill them... Kill them all... They are nothing... You are everything..." The Demon's voice echoed in his mind. Finn obeyed. "' Finn Balor had become a monster. He had lost control of the Demon's power, and had attacked everyone who stood in his way. He had fought the superheroes who tried to stop him, and had injured many of them. He had also caused a lot of collateral damage to the hospital and the surrounding area. He had also lost Leah. She had survived the bomb blast, thanks to the quick intervention of one of the superheroes. She had been taken to another hospital, where she was treated for her wounds. She had also learned about what Finn had done, and she was heartbroken. She couldn't believe that the man she loved had turned into a violent and ruthless killer. She couldn't understand what had happened to him, or why he had changed so much. She couldn't forgive him for what he had done, or trust him again. She decided to end their relationship, and cut off all contact with him. She also decided to move away from the city, and start a new life somewhere else. She hoped that she could forget him. She was wrong. Finn eventually regained his senses, and realized what he had done. He was horrified and ashamed by his actions. He remembered who he was, and what he had lost. He realized that he had gone too far. He tried to find Leah, and apologize to her. He hoped that she would still love him, and give him another chance. He hoped that they could be happy together again. He was wrong. He learned that Leah had left him, and moved away. He also learned that she hated him, and wanted nothing to do with him. He also learned that she blamed him for everything that had happened, and wished that he would die. He was devastated. He tried to contact her, and beg for her forgiveness. He tried to explain what had happened, and how he felt. He tried to tell her that he still loved her, and that he needed her. He was wrong. She ignored his calls, messages, and letters. She blocked his number, email, and social media accounts. She refused to talk to him, or listen to him. She rejected his pleas, and his love. She wanted him to leave her alone. He was crushed. He decided to give up on Leah, and focus on his mission as the Demon King. He decided to use the Demon's power for good again, and fight the Dark Lord and his minions. He decided to redeem himself for his sins, and make the world a better place. He was wrong. He found out that the Dark Lord had escaped from his hideout, and gone into hiding. He also found out that he had hired a team of assassins to kill him. He also found out that he had a new plan to unleash a deadly virus on the city. He was furious. He decided to hunt down the Dark Lord, and stop him once and for all. He decided to use the Demon's power to its full extent, and show no mercy to his enemies. He decided to end this war, and make the Dark Lord pay for what he had done. He was wrong. He fell into another trap set by the Dark Lord. He was ambushed by the assassins, who attacked him with advanced weapons and tactics. He was outnumbered and outmatched by them. He was wounded and weakened by them. He was captured by them. They took him to a secret location, where they tortured him mercilessly. They beat him up, burned him with fire, electrocuted him with wires, injected him with poison, cut him with blades, broke his bones with hammers, ripped out his nails with pliers... They did everything they could think of to make him suffer. They also mocked him for being a failure as a hero and a lover. They told him how Leah hated him and wished he was dead. They told him how she had moved on with her life and found someone else. They told him how she was happy without him. They lied to him. They wanted to break his spirit and make him submit to them. They wanted to make him beg for death or mercy. They wanted to make him their slave. They were wrong. Finn endured their torture with gritted teeth and clenched fists. He refused to give in or give up. He resisted their pain and their lies. He fought back with his will and his pride. He also fought back with the Demon's power. He felt the Demon's presence in his mind again, but this time it was different. It wasn't angry or jealous or resentful of him anymore. It wasn't trying to take over him or destroy him anymore. It was trying to help him and save him. It said that it had seen his suffering and his courage, and that it had changed its mind about him. It said that it had realized that he was a worthy host and a worthy partner. It said that it had decided to join forces with him, and fight against their common enemy. It said that it was sorry for what it had done, and that it wanted to make amends. It said that it was ready to be his ally and his friend. It offered him its power and its support, and asked him to accept it. Finn was surprised and touched by the Demon's words. He felt a new connection and a new respect for it. He felt a new hope and a new strength in him. He decided to accept the Demon's offer, and trust it. He said yes. He felt the Demon's power flowing through him, healing his wounds and restoring his energy. He felt the Demon's voice guiding him, telling him what to do and how to do it. He felt the Demon's spirit joining him, becoming one with him. He became the Demon King again, but this time he was different. He was stronger, faster, smarter, and more powerful than ever before. He was also more balanced, calm, and focused than ever before. He was ready to escape from his captors, and confront the Dark Lord. He was ready to end this story. ``` Finn Balor escaped from the torture chamber, and fought his way out of the secret base. He used the Demon's power to defeat the assassins and the guards, and to destroy the weapons and the equipment. He also used the Demon's power to track down the Dark Lord, and to find his location. He followed his trail to an abandoned warehouse, where he saw a large truck parked outside. He sensed that the truck was carrying the deadly virus that the Dark Lord had planned to unleash on the city. He also sensed that the Dark Lord was inside the warehouse, waiting for him. He decided to confront him, and stop him once and for all. He decided to use the Demon's power to its full extent, and show no mercy to him. He decided to end this war, and make him pay for what he had done. He entered the warehouse, and saw the Dark Lord standing in front of a large screen. He saw that he was wearing a black cloak and a metal mask, hiding his face and his identity. He also saw that he had a remote control in his hand, ready to activate the virus. He greeted Finn with a cold and sinister voice. "Welcome, Finn Balor. Welcome to your doom." He pressed a button on the remote control, and activated the screen. He showed Finn a live feed of Leah's hospital room, where she was lying on a bed. She looked pale and weak, but she was still alive. He smiled wickedly behind his mask. "Say hello to your girlfriend, Finn. Or should I say, goodbye?" He revealed his plan to Finn. He said that he had planted another bomb in Leah's hospital room, and that he had set it to explode in 10 minutes. He said that he had also infected her with the virus, and that she was dying slowly and painfully. He said that he wanted Finn to watch her die, and to suffer as much as he did. He said that he wanted him to feel helpless and hopeless, and to lose everything he cared about. He said that he wanted him to know how it felt to be betrayed by someone he loved. He said that he was the one who had given Leah the virus. He said that he was Leah's father. He took off his mask, and revealed his face. Finn gasped in shock. He recognized him as Leah's father, who had abused her and her brother for years. He recognized him as the man who had forced them to join him in his criminal activities. He recognized him as the man who had tried to kill them when they refused. He also recognized him as the man who had kidnapped him and tortured him. He recognized him as the man who had branded him with the Demon's mark. He recognized him as the man who had ruined his life. He was the Dark Lord. He laughed maniacally at Finn's reaction. "Surprised? You shouldn't be. I've been watching you for a long time, Finn. Ever since you escaped from me, and became the Demon King. Ever since you met my daughter, and fell in love with her." He explained his motives to Finn. He said that he hated Finn for being stronger than him, and for resisting his control. He said that he hated Finn for being happier than him, and for finding love with his daughter. He said that he hated Finn for being better than him, and for being a hero. He said that he wanted to destroy Finn's happiness, and make him suffer. He said that he wanted to take away his power, and make him weak. He said that he wanted to take away his love, and make him lonely. He said that he wanted to take away his life, and make him dead. He pointed a gun at Finn's head. "Goodbye, Finn Balor. Goodbye, Demon King." He pulled the trigger. He missed. Finn dodged the bullet at the last second, thanks to the Demon's power. He reacted quickly, and charged at the Dark Lord. He tackled him to the ground, and punched him in the face. He fought with all his strength and all his rage. He used his fists and his claws to inflict pain on his enemy. He used his teeth and his horns to draw blood from his enemy. He used his voice and his words to insult his enemy. He wanted to kill him. But he didn't. He stopped himself at the last moment, thanks to Leah's love. He remembered her face and her voice in his mind. He remembered her kindness and her compassion in his heart. He remembered her words and her wishes in his soul. He wanted to honor her. He decided to spare the Dark Lord's life, and let him face justice. He decided to use the Demon's power for good again, and save the city. He decided to redeem himself for his sins, and make the world a better place. He decided to be a hero. He got up from the ground, and grabbed the remote control from the Dark Lord's hand. He pressed a button on it, and deactivated the bomb in Leah's hospital room. He also pressed another button on it, and deactivated the virus in the truck. He saved Leah's life, and the city's life. He smiled with relief and joy. He also felt the Demon's presence in his mind again, but this time it was different. It wasn't angry or jealous or resentful of him anymore. It wasn't trying to take over him or destroy him anymore. It was trying to help him and save him. It said that it was proud of him and his choice. It said that it had realized that he was a true hero and a true king. It said that it had decided to stay with him, and fight with him. It said that it was happy for him and his love. It said that it was ready to be his ally and his friend. You've been mistreated most of your life, but you'd hoped you could have one birthday celebration on your terms. Naturally, your brother has ruined your night. It seems like someone besides you might have taken offense to that... and did something about it. You couldn't help but repay him with a date. He gave the necklace your twin stole as collateral to you since you asked nicely...and he's crazy about you.
Setting: Your family home

[Z] = Zach, your slightly crazy love interest. Danger himbo
[M] = Judith, your mother
[B] = Chris, your twin brother
[F] = Dale, your father
[Scene opens outside of your family home]
[SFX: A motorcycle petering to a stop]
[Zach stops in front of your family house on his motorcycle. He parks it and helps you out of the sidecar]
[Z] “Welp… Here we are. Your family home, right?”
[Pause…]
[SFX: The necklace rattling in your hand]
[Z] “...I know you want to return the necklace and all, but… are you sure you don’t want me there with you? I’ve got a bad feeling that it’s going to go poorly with your brother there.”
[Pause]
[He gives you a little pout]
[Z] “Of course, I worry about you… Look, I know we’ve been on a grand total of one date, but… I worry about you is all. I worry about all good people trapped in a family of shitty people…”
[Pause]
[He sighs and pulls you into a hug]
[Z] “...Fine. I’ll give you some space for you to deal with it. I know you’re strong. I get it.”
[Pause <3]
[Z] “Yeah, yeah… I’ll catch you later. Please just text me when you’re done here, OK?”
[Pause]
[He nods once more and waits until you’re at the door before he speeds off]
[SFX: A motorcycle speeding off/pause/the front door opening]
[You wait until Zach is gone before entering your old family home. It isn’t long before your mother comes to greet you]
[M] “Oh, well, look who could be bothered to show up, at last! I can’t believe you ducked out on your own birthday party!”
[...]
[M] “The diner? No, no, your brother said it was taking place here, and, well, given that everyone else showed up here, I’m inclined to believe him.”
[...]
[Your brother pads around the corner, just as immediately annoyed by your presence as you are by his]
[B] “Pfft, look who could be bothered to show up?”
[Pause?]
[He glares at you]
[M] “Young lady, you be nice! Your brother went through a harrowing call last night!”
[Pause]
[B, frowning] “... What do you mean ‘you know’? You weren’t even supposed to be here…”
[Pause]
[M] “You have something for me? Well, hold on, you haven’t said hello to your father.”
[...Pause.]
[Your father glances over the top of his paper with a grunt]
[F] “Mmhm.”
[SFX: The necklace rattling]
[You produce the necklace and hold it out to your mother. She lets out a gasp, completely ignoring you as you try to explain]
[M] “My necklace!”
[B, quiet] “Oh no…”
[Pause]
[M] “...So, it was you that stole the necklace?”
[Pause?!]
[You look at her in disbelief and bring up the call]
[B] “Pfft, the call was clearly you using your drug dealer of a boyfriend to intimidate me so that you could cover up for it! And cover up for your own addiction!”
[...]
[SFX: The necklace getting thrown to the ground]
[Pause!!]
[M, gasping] “Young lady! Throwing it to the ground is uncalled for!”
[PAUSE!!!]
[Your family seems taken aback as you explode at them, years of pent-up anger hurled their way. You expect them to yell back, as they always did… What you don’t expect is your brother to grab you around the neck and pin you to the floor]
[SFX: Chris pinning the Listener to the ground]
[B] “Shut up! Shut the fuck up!”
[M] “C-Chris! You’re choking your sister, stop it! Henry, for the love of God-!”
[SFX: The Listener and Chris struggling]
[F] “...The girl started this fight and stole your necklace. Chris is just making her answer for it.”
[B] “Godamn right! Admit it! Admit you stole the necklace and I’ll let go!”
[SFX: More struggling]
[It’s getting harder to think, no matter how you try and kick free. He isn’t playing this time. He aims to kill you…]
[...]
[M] “Stop, stop, she’s turning blue! Henry!”
[Your father stays silent. What else is new…]
[B] “Damnit, just confess-!”
[...]
[You’d rather fucking die at this point]
[M] “Chris!!”
[SFX: The door getting punched in]
[Your entire family stops dead as Zach outright punches through the front door and tosses it aside]
[F, livid] “Who the fuck do you th-?!”
[Your father’s protest turns into a wheeze as Zach charges forward and gets him around the neck]
[Pause!]
[M] “Henry!”
[B] “O-Oh…”
[You exchange looks with your twin and he quickly releases you from the stranglehold he had on you]
[Pause…]
[Z, a little crazed] “Yeah… I’m glad I didn’t listen to you either, Sweets.”
[A wicked smile carves into his face]
[Z] “So, what’s up, guys?! Having a nice night?!”
[M, sobbing] “Stop! You’re killing my husband!”
[Z] “Doing you a FUCKING FAVOR THEN, AREN’T I?!”
[Your mother yelps and practically scurries back from Zach’s rage. Zach turns and stares your brother down, eyes almost as red as his hair]
[Z] “What’s up, Chris?!”
[B] “U-Um… n-not much. Z-Zach. Sir.”
[Z] “Yeah? Cause I think I saw you trying to strangle your sister.”
[B] “U-Um…”
[Z] “And making up some dumb ass lies about you not stealing that necklace and not being the one with a nasty little addiction?”
[B] “A-Ah…”
[...]
[At your comment, Zach immediately drops your father on the ground and hurries to you]
[SFX: Your Dad groaning as he’s dropped and Zach crossing the threshold]
[Z, gentle] “...That’s gonna bruise your poor neck… Oh, Sweets… Don’t worry, koʻu aloha.”
[...Pause?]
[He turns red, taken aback]
[Z] “My Dad was Hawaiian, yeah… Man, of all the people, how come you’re the one that had to know what that meant?!”
[...Pause <3]
[He pouts]
[Z] “...Yes, it means ‘my love’. Man… Everyone’s gonna know I’m crazy for you now, you know?”
[Pause <3]
[Z] “Pfft, they can call the cops, if they want. It’d be a shame if they found out the nice, God-fearing family, the pinnacle of the community, no less, had a patriarch with a gambling addiction, a matriarch that steals from the church potluck, and a son that steals from little old ladies who steal from church potlucks. That’d be wild, wouldn’t it?”
[M, still sobbing] “You animal!”
[Zach wheels around on her so suddenly that she yelps, grinning in her face]
[Z] “Oh, I know you aren’t passing judgment on me, Judith. You purse-sneaking, coward-ass, shit-talking obsessed with thrifting dolls and postcards cause you want so bad to be quirky, can’t make a single quilt without fucking it up, hoarding-ass, bike-breaking, day-time TV-believing marry Dr. Fucking Feel why don’t you BITCH!”
[...Pause]
[Your mother gawps at him silently, pale as paper]
[Z] “Oh and let’s not forget good ol’ Dale over here. Mr. Vroom Vroom look at my truck, I bet it could run over a whole pride parade basic-bitch gun having little mini-masculinity can’t believe he can’t catch the eye of any of these blue-hair-havin’ daddy issue sportin’ girls put it all on red at the casino DICK!”
[...]
[<3]
[Zach picks you up with no effort, princess-style]
[Z] “Here’s what’s going to happen, Family O’ Fucks. Chris, you’re going to have my 10k by the end of the month. I don’t care how you get it, you’re getting it to me. You can hand it to me directly, or you assholes can find a shred of decency and apologize to the one good person in this hive of shitheads. Put it toward therapy. Make it up to them. And remember… if I catch you slacking, their big, scary friend will find you.”
[Pause]
[You whisper something in his ear and he turns red, eyes lighting up with delight]
[Z] “R-Really?”
[Pause <3]
[He laughs and grins at your family]
[Z] “If I catch you slacking, their big, scary boyfriend will find you. You got any possessions here you need, Sweet Girl?”
[Pause]
[Z] “Good. Then let’s get out of this shit pit. Animal boy, out.”
[With that, he marches out of the now-dead-silent house with you and plops you gently in the passenger car of his motorcycle]
[Pause…]
[Z] “So… Pancakes?”
[Pause <3]
[Again, he turns red]
[Z] “Ohohoho! Pancakes and then sexy times! Yes ma’am!”
[SFX: The motorcycle peeling out and Zach laughing with his standard batshit insane excitement]
[To be continued]
