Hello,
First let me introduce myself, my name is Jake. I love walking especially when the weather is nice, I like to hangout with my dog after work and watching TV like Youtube or television and sometimes Netflix and chill. I love video games and many other things. I like getting to meet all the different people online. I feel like everyone on here is unique and different in there own way. I'm gonna be honest tho it's been very hard for me to meet "the one" for me. It's been hard getting or keeping a girls attention and I feel like it's extremely hard to get put in a social situation for me to get to meet a nice woman for me someday. It would feel special to have a good connection and have someone to share my life with. I was thinking we can start off by voice chatting and sharing pictures to get to know eachother better. If your interested in meeting me feel free to dm me. ( I work from 7:00 AM EST to 3:30 PM so I might not respond much during those times) Here is a picture of me to get an idea of what I look like.

2023.06.06 15:02 yKoolF Question for Dog + Cat owners..... thanks for having a look
I've owned dogs all my life and feel as though I know them + their body language fairly well. On the flip side i've never owned a cat and decided to get an 8 week kitten the other day after a lot of thought.
Day 1 was awful, both the cat and the dog terrified of each other. Day 2 huge improvement and Day 3 i felt as though they were actually friends.
The kitten is a boy and plays none stop with Lola (female cavapoo 3yo) they play really well together and she has never once yelped or let out any sounds that she has been hurt or not enjoying the playing (tail wagging etc).
The cat is really growing on me and I can see why so many people love them as pets. Completely different to dogs but awesome in their own way. My question though, the kittens claws are unbelievably sharp, I would hate for him to catch her in the eye during playing or something similar. But the only way to prevent this problem would be to try dissuade them from playing together which doesn't seem like the right way to solve it.
So, am I right to worry about the cats sharp claws? Do they have much better control than I give them credit for? Is the chance of him catching her eye an actual possibility? What are my options? (Side note: I am concerned because I have suffered from the scratches myself lol my legs are cut to bits where the kitten has climbed up them to see me sat at the pc!)
If anyone has experience and can offer advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

2023.06.06 13:53 Sinobear How a Favorite Person is Sourced - My Experience
Read this post earlier,
https://www.reddit.com/BPDlovedones/comments/141cs1v/i_cannot_be_the_only_one_who_finds_the_concept_of/ , and I thought I'd go through how my wife (uBPD) selects her "favorite person." I've watched the same pattern emerge time-and-time again, and I think she's got it down to an almost HR science.
Step 1 - The declaration. We've been married for 15 years (which is another theme that seems to be very common in this subreddit). I work. I pay the bills. I do the laundry, the bulk of the housekeeping and household purchases. We've got two kids and a dog. I get tired. I've been tired. There's not much time or energy for partying like the teenager she still believes herself to be - and hopes to be again if it weren't for those darn kids that she wanted so much. I digress.
The declaration is made, "I am bored." This signals the beginning of a search online for the next kink, fetish, or any other interest that gets her piqued (
her fancy will be tickled later, but that's another adventure on the riverbank). Once she's chosen her newest theme, on to step 2.
Step 2 - The on-stage entrance. She will join every forum, site, chat group, etc., that pertains to her new theme. She will make it known in her profile, that she's female and available. The trawling net is cast. The thirsty boys quickly start commenting on her posts, and, of course, make their availability known. She will go through their profiles and conduct an almost FBI-like profile of each of them to narrow down her list of potentials (by region, by attraction, etc.). Once her target acquisition radar has locked on to one future-ex-lover, she will move on to step 3.
Step 3 - The mirroring process. She will then seek out all characteristics of the target - preferences in music, food, art, spiritual beliefs, literature, movies, fashion, makeup, interests, hobbies...anything that she can glean from her investigation. She will then adapt herself in kind. Listen to the same music, study the same art or literature, purchase new clothes, change her hair style or color, eat the same foods, watch the same movies. Now she's ready for step 4.
Step 4 - The Initial Hook-Up. This is, apparently, the most exciting time for her as she holds both the role of the interviewer and interviewee. She got the above cultural aspects mirrored as best she can, she's managed to avoid mentioning or giving any signs away that she's married with kids, and now there's going to be fireworks! She will either go to them, or they will come to her. All she needs is...
The EnableFamiliar - a little aside. My wife has always had enablers, including her own mother - who was opposed to our marriage from the outset - and her best friend, or a familiar who I never know personally enough to contact, but is, well, familiar enough, to make her excuse for going out/away plausible enough.
The initial hook-up will involve a dinner, walk in the park, even something as banal as meeting at a salon where she's getting her hair or nails done. If all goes well, it's sex in a hotel, in the park, what have you. That's hook #1 implanted in the favorite person. On to step 5.
Step 5 - The Admission. Now comes the tricky part, admitting that she's married with kids. This is done by, of course, explaining that, as all married cheaters say, "I got married too young and for the wrong reasons. I was trapped into having kids." Instead of running away immediately, the sex has insured that the favorite person will now don the silver armor and become a white knight. The gauntlet has been thrown down and the fair maiden must be rescued from the evil dragon (plus, the sex). Step 6 is not of her design, but mine. Oh! This is when the mirroring is so complete that she can attest that they are "soul mates." God, I hate that expression and the people who are gullible enough to even entertain the thought.
Step 6 - The Cock-Block. By the time I'm aware enough of everything, happens when your own radar is running 24-7, I will start to reinforce boundaries. That, of course, makes the already evil dragon controlling and abusive. Her actions are challenged, her tone commented upon, her attempts at going out challenged. This always leads to a crying session, usually post-midnight, followed up with selfies of her blubbering. This, of course, results in further white-knighting and the pay-off! Promises to take her away from all her suffering.
Step 7 - The Attempt to Solidify...and the Downfall. Here's where the whole thing falls apart. The guy wants so badly to "rescue" her but that means taking on not just her, but the kids and the dog. This means taking responsibility for a family that is not his. Where I am, his parents would never accept their son marrying a divorced woman with two kids, especially whose relationship was founded upon, and based upon, cheating. Furthermore, other than unbridled sex, she brings absolutely nothing to the table.
Step 8 - Rinse and repeat.

2023.06.06 13:23 freasynz How To Get Feel Relaxed With Zero Alcohol Wine?
2023.06.06 11:11 boomchickaboom ADHD ruined my life (late diagnosis, aged 50) - and now some people tell me "oh I think it is menopause not ADHD"
I have no where else to scream. So thanks for letting me scream here. I thought a diagnosis would make me feel better, but you know what - fuck that. ADHD ruined my fucking life. Shall I count the ways?
- Risk taking - well damn. The things I did and the things I said - and where I ended up, because my attitude was fuck all of this - I needed stimulation!! Jaysus the number of times I nearly died is not funny.
- Rebelling - this ruined my relationship with my parents so badly. I never told them anything, I just fought with them constantly. I realise now, that they were doing their best. They are old now - I wasted so much time - and now they will be gone. Before you say, you can make up that time - do it now - I can't - they live many oceans away - I hardly see them.
- Drugs and Booze - I was self medicating for years just to try and feel something - FUCKING ANYTHING - and all it did was mask the shitehole my life has become.
- Masking - wow - this is a big one. The mental rollercoaster, the self esteem issues, the never being good enough, the exhaustion of trying to hold it all together. The worst part is when the real me peeks out and the reaction from others. Makes me want to just hide back in my shell.
- Lost jobs - hahahahaha - how many places have fired me? For lying (yes I have that project under control), for turning up constantly late.
- Overworking - I finally figured out how to beat the system! Just work double the hours of my co-workers to get the same amount of work done - YAYAYA!! As a result then be too shattered to do anything else. - rinse repeat. Or how about procrastinating so bad that I lie about how far a project is or that it is the partner company not giving me info, or making up interviews (because of course I did not do them).
- Nearly failing out of uni - ah this nugget of gold. Academic probation - even though I spend every waking hour in the library - but nothing would stick. Why? Because when you cannot focus, sure nothing will stick! Your memory is for shit!
- Losing or misplacing everything! - lost engagement ring - check. Lost heriloom necklace - check. Smashed expensive work phone - check, check! My husband still doesn't know I lost the ring - it was an antique - he thinks I just don't wear it because I am worried about ruining it.
- BUY BUY BUY - here is a great way to get dopamine - buy a LOAD of crap you don't need - whether it is food, shoes, bags, clothes - just do it -you'll feel so much better.
- Debt and Financial ruin - oh this is the big one. late for an appointment - always - so just pay the late fee or whatever, psych appointment forgotten - here is a bill for 60, the list goes on. I had a massive credit card debit that I eventually paid off - and it is a constant struggle to stay off and not keep buy buy buying. The worst one is this. We will never own a house because of what I did with our mortgage. Our home was repossessed because of missed payments that I was in charge of. Our credit is ruined. My husband earns well - but I forget if we have mustard in the house, so I buy it again (we have three bottles), or I see something I like and buy out the stock of it (not realising they have expiration dates). He doesn't know a thing - I just hide it all - how can I tell him I have ruined us?
- My kids think I am a joke - my kids just laugh at me and when I got the diagnosis they said oh we are not surprised. They think I am silly and flighty and flaky.
- Friendships - ruined - out of sight and out of mind right?
- There are so many more big and little things . . .I can't even think of them.
- EDIT: (Added this here instead of as a comment) Want to know how many friends have said "oh really adhd? I am sure it is just menopause". I wanted to be open about the diagnosis, thought that if you talk about it helps to normalise it, but I guess I will just keep it to myself now. Like seriously - menopause just makes me want to drive off a cliff - totally different :/
- Getting yelled at as a kid - all. fecking. time. teachers, coaches, parents, aunties, uncles. never listened. hahahah. Was too dreamy, lost in space, terrible memory the list goes on and on.
- Emotions - goddamn. The tears, the frustration, the inability to keep control of my emotions just spiralling . . .the hellscape of containing it all in if I can or at least waiting until I get to the car.
- Obsessions - I get weirdly obsessed about people for a while and then it passes. Nothing scary, but it is like all I can think about. A TV show, a movie, a book, a hobby - all the time and money wasted on nonsense. jesus fecking christ.
- House chaos - do you know we have three lamps in our house that have no shade on them because the cats shredded them. So guess what I do? I obsessively search and search for new shades or new lamps (I have done this 8 times and counting) and then never buy anything because - wait for it - I can't decide. I also get stressed about the money to be spent. So we have lived with bare bulb lamps - for 4 FUCKING YEARS!! WHO THE FUCK DOES THIS??!!
I wish I could say that having the diagnosis has made things better. In some ways it has - the meds mean I can work like a dog, but I realise now I can still get sidetracked and then the exhaustion is worse. I am angry and sad and frustrated. I was told my whole life I had so much potential and that I had wasted it all. And it looks like I have. My kid has a diagnosis now as well - and I thought it would help bond us a bit - but he is angrier and more distant now too.
FML.

2023.06.06 09:42 Lambdaleth "Yellow Hands"
I just had the most insane fucking nightmare that I woke up from with the most intense dread and fear with my heart pounding. The worst part about it was how real it felt while still feeling incredibly absurd and alien. It was also super quick. I think all those factors culminated in one of the freakiest dreams I've ever had.
Anyway, I was either working at, or just finishing a shift at my old McDonalds when my sister came to either pick me up or hang out or something, and we were just sitting at a table shooting the shit. Eventually the conversation shifts to a memory she had of seeing something in the old house we used to live in the night before we moved out for good. Even just typing that sent shivers down my legs. I mentioned how her bringing it up reminded me of the memory and how fucking scary it was and she was like, "yeah, and if I told this to anyone else they would think I was insane" and I was like no, I understand what you mean, it was fucked up.
As we discussed the memory, I was transported back to the scene. It was the last house we ever lived in (our parents live in a condo now), and because all our beds were packed up, we were sleeping on an air mattress in the basement. It was pitch black down there, and we were both woken up by the sounds of bumping in the little sump pump room. My "night vision" had kicked in by the time we went to go open the door, because we thought our dog might have somehow trapped himself in there. But before we could fully open it, this fucking creature burst out. It didn't even hit the door, just slinked out through the small crack that had been made by the barely opened door.
It was about child-sized, standing upright on two stubby yet lanky legs missing feet, with a body that was less a human's and more a centipede's, but with only two segments. It had two more pairs of the same stubby legs going up the sides of its body, and didn't have a head, but yet another pair on top of its body, so that if it flipped over it would look identical. It charged at us once out of the door, and it was blurry yet very visible in the dark if that makes sense; I think its skin colour was a pale yellow. I said it charged because it moved fast but really it moved super awkwardly, the best way I can describe it is how a centipede might move if it stood on only two legs. Anyway we fucking ran out of the house and into the driveway. Our parents weren't home.
We were back in the McDonalds and talking about how scary that was, and somehow both concluded that it was called "Yellow Hands".
Now the scariest part for me now that I'm awake and recording this nightmare, is the fact we only saw one, yet dubbed it "Yellow Hands" plural. It also had no hands. So my imagination is now taking over and wondering if this wasn't just one giant hand of an even more fucked up, enormous creature that was emerging from the closet. I genuinely don't know what is scarier, the concept of it just being an absurd creature or a giant monster, but fuck, that dream was scary and I'm having to write it out right now so I can remind myself it wasn't real.
The creature kind of reminds me of something from Gemini Home Entertainment, and the "memory" scene felt like something out of Skinamarink if that makes any sense. Just one of the most abstract, fucking scariest dreams I've ever had. The fact I'm still reeling from it while typing this out, Jesus Christ. I keep getting shivers from typing it out and rereading it.
I'm going to draw it, and then will probably have to watch an episode of Seinfeld or something to get back to sleep. My poor wife, I had to turn my lamp on after I woke up because I was convinced there was one of those things in the dark bedroom, despite this being a completely different house in a different city. I'm gonna be tired AF in the morning from the sleep lost from this event, and might even have a laugh about how silly I was being, but Holy shit, that was scary and I'm still feeling it like 30 minutes after waking up.
Trying a new website to share my drawings, because Imgur doesn't work well on mobile for me, so hope it works:
https://ibb.co/thP5KrM https://ibb.co/ZmrTk0Y I hope whoever reads this gets either a kick out of it or some of the same shivers I can't seem to shake at the moment.

2023.06.06 07:30 ajays-food7970 Beat the Heat with the Perfect Cold Coffee
Cold coffee refers to any type of coffee that is served cold or chilled. It can be made using different methods and variations. Some common types of cold coffee include:
- Iced Coffee: Regular brewed coffee that is chilled or poured over ice. It can be served black or with milk and sweeteners.
- Cold Brew Coffee: A method of brewing coffee by steeping coffee grounds in cold or room temperature water for an extended period, usually 12 to 24 hours. The resulting concentrate is then diluted with water or milk and served over ice.
- Frappuccino: A blended beverage made with coffee, milk, ice, and various flavors such as chocolate, caramel, or fruit syrups. It is typically topped with whipped cream.
- Coffee over Ice: Regular brewed coffee that is allowed to cool and then poured over ice cubes. This method is simpler and quicker than cold brew but provides a similar chilled coffee experience.
Cold coffee is a popular choice, especially during warmer months, as it offers a refreshing and cooling alternative to hot coffee. It can be
customised with different flavors, sweeteners, or dairy/non-dairy milk options to suit individual preferences.

Training
The story behind this race really starts a year ago. I ran the Colfax Marathon in Downton Denver, and fell short of the 4-hour goal. Many things went wrong, between injuring myself with some nasty tendonitis around my shin 2 weeks pre-race, a poor fueling/hydration plan, and my fitness not quite being where I thought. I crashed hard at mile 20 at Colfax, and watched the 4 hours slip away slowly walking up the hill on 17th St. That had been my first road marathon (I've ran the Pikes Peak Marathon, but the strategy and approach to that race is wildly different), and I learned a lot to prepare for redemption in 2023.
The ultimate goal this year is to run my first ultramarathon, a 55k in the mountains of Colorado in July. In planning my training, I decided to use a road marathon as a tune-up and fitness check-in for the month of June. I did some searching for good Springs marathons close to home (Front Range), vowing not to repeat Colfax, and was quickly entranced by the beauty advertised by the Steamboat Marathon. Since Steamboat Springs is one of my favorite Colorado locations, it was an easy sell! It fit the bill, so I booked the hotel, signed up, and got to work training. Since this is a tune-up race for the ultra, the principle goal was to survive a marathon training block injury-free.
I used the TrainAsOne app for training - and have mixed feelings about it. I found it consistently under-loaded my weekly milage vs what I expected from other plans; so I took a lot of liberty in extending the long runs to hit the milage I wanted. Aside from being a bit short on volume though, I think the plan did an excellent job of planning tempo, interval, and threshold runs. I was challenged, and found the balance of workout types well structured. I plan to keep using the app, but will happily extend the volume if I'm not happy with it.
As smooth as training went for the most part, I did start getting some calf pain about a month before the race. Off to PT I went, worried for the worst, to be diagnosed with only a minor calf strain. Lots of calf raises, some dry needling, and continuing to run healed the problem swiftly, and I didn't miss a beat. Training goal accomplished....but not without a good scare! A smooth taper brought my confidently into race weekend.
Pre-race
My wife and I drove up the day before on Saturday, June 3 and checked into the Nordic Lodge. I can't recommend this lodge enough for runners; it was easy walking distance from the pick-up point and finish line, they let us check-in early since the room was ready, and let us check out late so I had time to shower after the race before the 3 hour drive home. The day before, I didn't run, but enjoyed a 2 mile walk around the town, and loaded up on carbs at Mazzola's, the local Italian restaurant. As usual, I slept terribly before the race; there's something about the pre-race jitters that makes sleeping impossible, between the performance anxiety and the terror of missing the morning alarm.
The hydration plan was pretty simple: Carry 1L of water with my vest (practice for the ultra-run), which works out even better since aid stations are ~3 miles apart on this race. I took water and gatorade at every aid station, and sipped on my 1L as needed. I had just about finished it by the finish line. For fuel, I took in 1 honey stinger waffle every 10k. Those waffles are like candy for me, and I swear I can feel the immediate kick from taking one in.
Race morning was tremendously smooth; props to Steamboat for putting on a smooth race! The weather was a runner's dream; ~45 and cloudy at the start. It was a 5 minute walk to the bus pickup point, where marathoners were picked up and driven 26.2 miles to the start line. Anytime you're bussed to the other end of a point-to-point race, it really hits home just how far a marathon is! We were dropped off around 6:45 for the 7:30 start, and had some time to warm up, use the porta-pot(twice), and line-up. The start is nestled in a quaint historic mining village up at 8,200 ft. Given my home at 5500 and training on trails frequently, I wasn't concerned about the altitude. I didn't really feel major nerves for the race until about 5 minutes before the start, when the race called everyone to lineup.
Race
Miles 1-6: The first miles always fly by. Lesson from Colfax: Do NOT start faster to try and bank time. Terrible idea. This time around, I started intentionally slower than I felt I could, taking the rolling hills at the start of the race at a modest 9 minute pace. Once the downhill opened up at mile 5, I let myself go a bit faster, very carefully managing the heart rate. The start of the course is easily the most beautiful, with big gorgeous mountains on both sides and Colorado's best Spring in years on full display. The race field was around 300, which is a wonderful sweet spot for a race to feel populated but never crowded. No corrals at the start, but at the cost of dramatically fewer spectators. The course feels tremendously rural, but that only adds to the beauty and charm! At mile 6, I improvised and took a gel pack from the aid station in addition to the 10k honey stinger to stay ahead of fueling, and it worked out great.
Miles 7-13: This part of the race is steadily downhill, but I wanted to keep managing the pace. I settled in and chatted with a few other racers, distracting my mind from the downhill quad-pounding. At the halfway point, we hit the half-marathon start line, and the season was literally changing as we lost elevation, from trees that were just beginning to bloom to rolling meadows of brilliant purple flowers. The race had a fantastic team of cyclists to provide both encouragement and safety to the course and they really made a difference.
Miles 13-20: More steady downhill, and this is where the long miles really start to pile up. What mile am I on? 17, or 18? My heart rate through these miles was bouncing around the 140's, and that was my first clue that this race would be very different than Colfax. Everything was going right; I felt like I was keeping a foot on the brake at all times going down this endless hill and was actually looking forward to the infamous 3 mile climb. This was a lonelier stretch, and the views closed in as we hit the course bottom in a small canyon with a raging creek.
Miles 20-26: Here it is; the thing everyone seems to talk about with this race: the 3 mile climb. The course profile starting with some rollers, plunges down in miles 5 and 6, casually keeps going down from 7 thru 20, and then slowly but surely rises nearly 200 feet in 3 miles towards town. And I somehow crushed it! I guess all that training in my hilly neighborhood and on the trails in the foothills really paid off. I had little trouble maintaining my 9 minute pace, felt empowered from the 30k honey stinger, and invigorated by the increasing spectator support as we drew close to town. Miles 24 and 25 were my least favorite of the course; too much traffic on the road, and not quite close enough to the end. I had the energy still to step on the gas and power through these annoying miles. The final turn onto Lincoln Avenue is a huge relief, as the last half mile offers a continuous view of the finish! While I may not have had energy for a sprint to the finish, I still felt strong at my target pace. Words cannot capture the feeling of not just surviving, but thriving in a marathon! I survived the onslaught in Colfax, but I thrived in Steamboat. I passed my dad, wife, and dogs as I passed Mile 26 with nothing but smiles as I rolled into the finish!
Post-race
Another lesson from Colfax: STRETCH. WALK. Do these things after a race and stave off a lot of soreness. I took 15 minutes to stretch it out, and grabbed my free beer and burrito. Neither sounded even the least bit appetizing, so right into the cooler they went for Monday. Are there people out there who can pound down a beer and breakfast burrito after a marathon??? I had to somewhat hustle back to the hotel for a shower to fit the late checkout time cutoff (12:30), but was still comfortable since I finished before 11:30. We walked another mile or two around town, and then the 1/4 mile hike to Fish Creek Falls, and settled in for the ride home.
Everything went right this race. As I write this on Monday, making it a priority to walk another couple miles around home today, my body feels fantastic and ready to jump back into training after an easy week. It's hard to tackle a first marathon; there's a lot of lessons to be learned that can't be learned until you've tried it. Miles 20-26 are simply a different animal from the first 20. To those who learn from those lessons, the second marathon is an entire world of difference. For me, that was smarter training to avoid injury, proper fueling and hydration, and a whole lot of stretching!
Maybe next year I'll do the Colorado Marathon to continue working through my local marathons and see what is possible for a third marathon! Thanks for reading!

2023.06.06 06:04 jouneitx Suggestions on how to handle this. I thought it was criminal, but apparently not. Civil matter?
Location: Harris Co, Texas
I have the neighbor from hell. They were nice enough when they moved in around 10 years ago, but within the first 2 years I caught the wife trying to kill our dogs in the backyard by throwing rat poison back there. I have no earthly idea what pre-empted that. I went over to talk to her about it and she S C R E A M E D "f you bitch mother fucker" and kept screaming until I left and called the police. We were not exactly friends, but were well more than cordial right up to that point. The cops came, and she denied it until they showed her video evidence caught by the very edge of my security camera. She was written a ticket. Both dogs survived.
Since then, it has gone downhill fast. She stole a package off my porch, and was caught red handed by the police - but the case was dismissed as they fought it and the officer did not show up to "qualify the body camera footage or his report" which is insane. My tires were slashed. My trash cans stolen. Things have been thrown through my windows several times.
I have spent ungodly amounts of money on home security cameras, but they stay just out of sight from them. I can catch audio of it sometimes, but never fully catch them in the act since the incident with my dogs.
They have installed multiple cameras in their yard right at the property line pointing directly at both doors of my home. I thought this alone was an invasion of privacy, but according to the officers that have come out, it is not. If I step one foot outside... they come running out screaming, threatening, cussing, etc. Every time. And I mean EVERY time I step outside, they come running out within seconds. They have installed floodlights pointing right at several windows of my home (including my master bedroom). There is only 20 feet separating the two homes, so to say it is bright is an understatement.
Last week, they decided to get one of those huge steel pipe wind chimes. I have learned to phase them out as much as possible, but the sound from it kept me up all night. I went to ask if they could please at least take it down in the evening, and was met with the same cussing, screaming, etc. So I called the police again. They came out and agreed that it was a bit excessive, but they wouldn't come to the door, so the police said there was nothing they could do and to try calling during the day. I did, and that spiraled out of control quickly.
The cops asked them to remove the windchime after 10pm or they may get a ticket, and they told the cops to go f themselves. I have no idea how that much was allowed, but it went further as the couple immediately stormed past the cop running at my house screaming they would kill me. I thought SURELY that this would be the final straw. The cops would do something. You cannot just make a threat like that.
But, they let it go. MANY officers showed up, and I was simply told it was "said in the heat of the moment" and that next time we would both be going to jail (I am still not certain what I did, but regardless, they apparently made up something to tell the cops).
Last night, I am woken up at 2am by what sounds like the Notre Dame bells in my eardrums. I look outside, and fully lit - to make sure I could see them - is now 20 of the wind chimes, and an industrial shop fan (those really tall ones that blow a ton of air) knocking them around. I call the cops, and the neighbors won't answer their door, and they tell me there is nothing I can do.
Today when leaving for work, I have them start the usual bs of screaming, cussing, flipping me off - added with turning the water hose on me as I am trying to get into the car.
I fear for my safety, and apparently cannot get the sheriff to do anything about it, even when done right in front of them. I have tried finding a lawyer to either take a case of harassment or get a protective order, but cannot find anyone to take this case. My life is being turned upside down, and I do not want to leave my dream home (on top of it being a bad financial decision at the moment) I have been in for 18 years, because of these two - but this has to come to an end.
Someone, anyone, help. I don't know who to contact or what to do. I would have thought that this was more than enough to justify a criminal harassment case, but according to our sheriff, it is not. I have tried hunting down civil attorneys, and cannot find one either through my own search or referral services for our county. So what is the best means to handle this? What type of lawyer should I be looking for, or is there another route I should go?
