I know I can't be the only one with this pathway - I purchased Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Mother's Milk" cassette after seeing the "Higher Ground" music video on MTV in 1990. After a few listens and reading the liner notes/lyrics, I realized that "Good Time Boys" was referring to other bands, and I was especially curious about the "Got me Bonin'" snippit in the song. I went back to my local music store and through asking figured out that it was Fishbone.
My next cassette purchase was Truth and Soul. I was absolutely blown away, coupled by realizing that the "Freddie's Dead" music video I'd seen a couple of times late at night was the same band. I was hooked at that point, and the love has continued and grown to present day.

WHAT I THINK
Your music needs to be good, in front of people, and you need to know how to make money even when you have a small audience.
Good music is a combo of: new, relatable, well made to the average ear, emotional, interesting (and tons more)
Getting in front of people is: making good content, knowing how each marketing platform works and optimizing that, knowing your audience/finding them on each platform, getting into physical spaces with your music that are suited for you
Good content is pretty similar to music: new, relatable, exciting, emotional, sometimes well made, sometimes very casual
Generally to get good at all of this, you have to do A LOT of it, and while this general advice is great, you have to do the work of diving DEEP on all the individual little pieces of what is going on now and how to work with whatever is out there now. And that last piece of being current will drastically transform what you are making and how you present it.
WHAT I'M DOING
Booking shows, making content, promoting my single with up to 3 tiktoks every day (and sometimes crossposting to reels), promoting my shows, making music, mixing and mastering my own stuff, shooting my own music videos, learning music theory and production, slowly plugging away at this every day. I'm also making my own merch.
I plan to start streaming my production and music practice sessions as well as when I game.
WHERE I'M STRUGGLING
I'm struggling to create a buzz. My understanding is that with celebrity, you honestly get really huge when you're in the public zeitgeist for controversy around some core social issue that people are divided about because it creates a lot of public conversation (Taylor Dating Matt Healey, Anything the Kardashians do, Kanye Wearing a white lives matter shirt, Grimes dating Elon, the list goes on.) I think that is toxic. The other thing people get popular for are being perfect, and constantly talking about how perfect they are, or being so perfect that everyone else talks about it. I think that's toxic too. But everyone does it, Kimye, Brangelina, Bennifer, Tarantino, the list goes on and on. Personally I think being amazing is awesome. Never admitting flaws and constantly stirring up social stress for views is toxic. I'm also like attractive, but not overwhelmingly hot, and I can't afford the makeup/photo/hair team to look that way. I'm also just seriously running out of bandwidth to be a one-woman record label.

Where should I focus when I'm still getting 2 - 10 people coming to shows (inb4 ur music sucks. It doesn't! I get people commenting stuff like this is amazing, and people in person saying "Ive been listening to your song on repeat.")?

Last month I got (late) diagnosed with inattentive ADHD and today, one of my best friends casually shared a video of an ADHD scenario with the caption ‘ITS ME’. It was of a couple talking and the girlfriend is switching between topics and not listening or focusing, and honestly, my friend is absolutely nothing like this.
I was kind of taken a back at first because it just seemed so flippant and very much ‘oh look I have ADHD because I also do this’ (even though she doesn’t at all). I replied asking if she thinks she has it, to which she told me that ‘everyone’s always saying I have ADD but I can’t be bothered to get diagnosed because it takes too long’
I didn’t even know what to say. We have the same friends and absolutely nobody has ever said that.
I am so firmly against people invalidating others and nobody ever knows what someone is actually dealing with and they could be masking, so I’m really torn on how to react to this.
I told her about my ADHD referral last year, at no point has she mentioned that she has it too, she’s never even said ‘oh I do that as well’
This is where it gets murky and I know the minute I say this people will shoot be down and tell me you never know anyone’s real situation, and I absolutely agree. But my friend is, for want of a better way of it saying it, very neurotypical. I’ve known her for years, and I honestly cannot see a single symptom. Certainly not to the point where she would meet the criteria where it effects her significantly.
She is incredibly studious, works as a lawyer and her career has come on leaps and bounds. It’s a job that requires a lot of focus, a lot of detail, organisation and hitting deadlines - she seems to get a promotion nearly every year and is set to hit partner in the next few. So amazingly, her ADD symptoms don’t seem to effect her at work.
Since I’ve known her she’s always been organised, punctual, has well established routines and has always been the ‘mum/organiser’ of the group. She is the person who will organise an event, straight away she’ll have got dates and confirmations from everyone, tickets will be booked within 2 days and a spread sheet has been sent around detailing what people owe and where they need to be. And this isn’t a one off, this is most of her life. She’s just a very organised, efficient person. And that has been the case right through school, uni and her work. She rarely seems distracted, or daydreams, she’s not late, or has any social awkwardness, she was always the first to hand in her homework across every subject, She couldn’t be further from the DSM criteria if she tried.
There are of course women just like this who do have ADHD. But the vast majority of stories I hear of women who have spent most of their life undiagnosed usually involve difficulties with work, school, finances, social interactions and relationships. There are signs, often big signs that something has been wrong.
Another reason why I’m feeling pretty icky about her message, was the fact in the past she has managed to make herself the centre of attention no matter what else is going on. A couple of examples (of many), 2 years ago, my anxiety was so crippling I had to quit my job. I started medication and got a therapist. Within a few months, said friend told me she too had ‘suddenly’ developed anxiety and got a therapist. I supported her and just thought it was coincidence. One of our friends has crippling endometriosis and was in huge amounts of pain on holiday once. Mere days later, said friend appeared clutching her stomach and telling everyone she thinks she also has endometriosis and was in so much pain. She’s never ever once mentioned it again though, of course.
So I really just can’t help but feel, suddenly this is a new thing to jump on. And I’m actually pretty pissed about it because she’s well aware of how difficult most of my life has been and to be so flippant about it makes a mockery of what I’ve been through. Even if she’s exploring the possibility, fine. But to share silly videos and claim to be like the person in them all whilst know you’re troubled and newly diagnosed friend will see it is not okay.
I’m really torn on how to handle this or even how to feel about it because I HATE invalidation, especially when masking is such a heavy part of ADHD. BUT I’m also just feeling really uncomfortable about her suddenly claiming to have this, and publicly as well.

So I have getting the warp core streamlined but a few things inside the dark bramble mess me up a lot and I was wondering if any one could give me advice.
#1 When I first enter the bramble I always over shoot the red seed and go over it but I have to wait until I drift to a place with no angler fish and then redirect to the red seed which takes a lot of time.
#2 When I get to the red eggs in the center I aimlessly shoot out my scout until I find the non-glowing seed that holds the vessel this also takes a lot of time.

Hi am new Stellaris player, I been playing with Ai and currently am fighting against AI with all level 3 Railgun’s on all his ship destroyer and corvettes . I did some research , and decided to design my own ships , I when with missal corvette and destroyer with Red laser, as AI put a lot of amor in his ships and ignore shields.
I declare war and fought his station. I lost badly, I my two fleet lost around 37 covert against his station which had all railgun. I don’t understand why. I watch YouTube video and they all said middle and torpedo are best for corvettes and destroyer. Why did I lost like half my entire fleet to a single station.
I just want to know how to counter railguns and amor focus ships.

Hey all. For those of us trying to escape retail for a WFH position, I just wanted to give a heads up to please be careful. It’s easy to say and think “I would never fall for this.” But they can be quite clever and cunning. I’m pretty sure I was contacted by a scammer under the guise of a legitimate company. I’m reaching out to the company to confirm, so I won’t name names. But please. If it sounds too good to be true, then it most likely is.
Some red flags: 1. Chat via Teams for a “pre interview”. Not a phone or video interview. 2. Asking what bank do you use to “see if it tallies with the company’s official salary payment account.” Or something like this. 3. Asking how would you like to be paid. Weekly/biweekly? Check or direct deposit? 4. Telling you to report back to them on the chat platform they use at a specific time. And they tell you congratulations! You got the job! With some strong ego fluff surrounding it. 5. Unfortunately, them being very upfront and explicit with a very tempting dollar amount in the initial conversation. HUGE red flag. 6. Dangling the carrot of WFH. 7. Side stepping the request for official company contact information or an official document of employment. They said I will be contacted at the end of the week with the documentation. (What, so they have time to forge it?)
If anyone else has had similar experiences or anything to add, please do. We have to watch out for each other and do a better job of protecting each other. And I mean that outside of just scammy job offers, too. Cuz this whole thing be some bullshit.

• Good (I would prefer spots people from there actually go to, not just the places vloggers talk about) places to go to drink. I saw a video about this hidden Sake bar underneath a convenience store. So, yeah stuff like that.
• Touristy food items, restos, events that are actually worth the hype.
• Shopping. I like sneakers, but also more dressy options. Also love streetwear and vintage military/americana. Also been meaning to get a nice japanese chef's knife engraved/customized
• If you have any tipid tips/travel hacks

I'm making a series of videos where I show the wildlife in elden ring in the style of a classic nature documentary, but to record footage for it I need to be able to invade another world and run around for a few hours because enemies won't aggro onto me if I'm a red phantom. All I need is someone to summon me with a duel sign and just leave the game running for a while on a save that hasn't yet burned the erdtree (just for the background).

Hey, so for a short film I want to create basically "fake UIs" in a video editing software and then display it on this Sony PVM. What would be the best way to go about that with maximum quality? Buying an old computer? Or an old graphics card? Basically I want it to act just like a classical monitor with some kind of PC connected to it so I can play digital video files

I have been sitting on this one, because I don't like to be too negative, but it seemed many others had similar thoughts about their socails being managed badly/weirdly, and I was also curious if others had ideas of what works and what doesn't work now. (Bilifrap staff please stalk some more social spaces.)
Enha's recent promo on their social media accounts, but mainly tiktok feels sort of messy and ineffective.
To start with some positives, what I really liked:

• the shorts and reels from the trailer (although maybe more crossposting and adding them to their stories could've helped because the engagement wasn't too high on many of those)
• the individual IG reels for Half and New versions were gorgeous (but that may be more on the visual team)
• the tiktoks from the concept shoots were nice (especially from New) with the music they added in the background it kept people engaged by guessing if it was from the album

I'm conflicted if not cross-posting all these on their socials is a good or a bad thing. You get unique content on different platforms but some if it ends up flying under the radar if you are not actively checking (at least for me).
My main gripes with their tiktok this era:

• It feels like they are spamming. They posted tiktoks every 5-10 minutes for the title teaser, the individual dance challenges and the song spoilers were I think also very closely done one after the other.
• The title promo tiktoks feel repetitive. They posted with the same sound 18 times, out of this the dance challenge 11 times with very little variation (2 group, 2 unit and 7 individual tiktoks). They posted with outfits that while very pretty, we see them dancing in those already in the MV and MCountdown. I think what could have been fun is if the individual member dance challenges were done in different sets/outfits for each member, e.g. Jungwon in his biker outfit from the trailer, Sunoo in the crown from Full, Sunghoon on the New concept set etc. Some variability.
• Timing. They keep dumping 2-7 videos at the same time, that drives down the engagement on all the socials twitter, tiktok, IG.. they did it with the individual tiktoks and even some of the challenge collabs were posted less than 15 mins apart.
• Not using the other catchy parts of the song. The oh my god also has good choreo and they could have done something fun with it, but nothing. They did good with using the chorus in the song spoilers it gained a lot of attention they could've done at least something with it again after the song came out I think. They posted those visual clips with the 'come here and get some' part again, for that they could've easily used either an other track from the album or an other part of the song.
• Not using other tracks from the album, especially the lack of Bills! We got 2 bills tiktoks, while during Manifesto they posted a lot more for TFW and even did challenges with other groups.
• The templates with no sound.. Just clogging enha's tiktok feed and adding hardly anything. Even Enha's amazing visuals have limits of how much they can carry.

Their more casual tiktoks get such high engagement, they often end up on top of trends even if they are super late. They could give them time to do something on their own (we had members go viral and become memes by doing their own thing) in place of the lots of uniform content.
They have 10M+ followers on IG, Twitter, Tiktok but I don't think they are well utilised. In comparison I looked at lesserafim's tiktok and they have 3rd amount of followers but similar engagement and while they posted multiple
What do you guys think? Am I expecting too much and they are doing well, or their team could really be doing better?
