Not in favor: But what is the chances that this "simulating machine" was able to simulate everything completely well, and have a complete set of laws of nature aka. rules of the simulation. The universe could have created anything else then that exact brain.

In favor: And also all the laws about quantum mechanics and other stuff, but who says that THIS universe has to be anything like the outside place were the brain was formed, what if it's just imagined.

You know the one I'm talking about. It was in section B of Botany. I'm scoring 586 marks, which is kind of on the borderline. If the NTA people change their minds about this, I will get 591, which is enough to get the college I want. Even many reputed coachings like Aakash+byjus and ALLEN disagree with the NTA key.

The question number varies depending on you Q paper code. Mine was H2, so its Q number 147. So the statements were something like this:

A. Insertion of Recombinant DNA
B. Cutting using restricton endonucleases
C. Isolation of Desired DNA Fragments
D. Amplification using PCR

So the correct order would be B,C,D,A. However NTA has said that it is C,B,D,A.

This is incorrect because isolation of Desired DNA Fragments is only possible once you cut the genetic material with restriction endonucleases. After we cut using restriction endonucleases, we segregate the fragments based on size(or length or mass or something, I don't know what the criteria was) by the process of Gel Electrophoresis and then seperate them out using the process of Elution.

Notice the key words here, "desired" and "fragments". The NTA people have mistaken DNA fragments for simply genetic material(DNA). While we do seperate out the genetic material/genome first by digesting all of the cell's components using various enzymes, we obtain the entire DNA of the cell, not the specific DNA fragment that we desire. The desired fragment is obtained only after cutting using restriction enzymes.

So the NTA key is clearly wrong. It is my humble request to all those who wrote NEET, to please challenge NTA. It barely costs 200 rupees. The more people challenge it, the more pressure we can apply on NTA and they might change it.

My father in law (60ishM) is a widower, MIL (60ish) died 1.5 years ago. Husband (32M) and I (31F) have been a couple for 10 years, married for 2. We previously had a difficult few years with no contact from me towards MIL in particular because she would have unpredictable angry outbursts and I could not subject myself to that anymore. I never confronted her or anything, just would not come around anymore and after a while they noticed that husband would come alone and they did not receive invites to visit. She died from a chronic illness but nevertheless quite suddenly, and we both were in the hospital with them as she passed and helping with the funeral afterwards.
I need to explain that in their family, historically MILs behaviour would be rugswept immediately, and appearances were to be upheld. Nothing is ever talked through, in fear of her throwing a fit. After she passed, we learned that FIL had the same behaviour, when my husband asked something benign about his schooldays. Apparently MIL was just always quicker to react. My husband is very avoidant about talking and asking for consideration or explanations, not surprisingly.
Soon after MILs death, we got pregnant with our first, he is half a year now. It was difficult for my FIL to visit with us as MIL had never been invited to our (not new anymore) house, but a month after the birth of our son he came to visit with my sister in law. They live 40 minutes by car. My sister in law has downs syndrome and lives in an assisted living facility while working as well. She is as involved as can be with our son, asking for frequent updates and photos. We got them both digital photoframes for their houses, and regularly put up photos. We invited them for Christmas as well, and went for our first visit when LO was 3 months old. FIL seems to enjoy holding LO and talking to him, like genuinely happy. The baby hates car rides with a passion though and we obviously need to haul a lot of stuff for a visit, so taking turns visiting would be nice.
We have visited again last weekend for SILs birthday, and it was not enjoyable. No consideration for our sons needs, no consideration for his health or what we as parents ask of FIL (e.g. not letting baby grab SILs glasses from her face, not letting baby touch his or SILs mouth due to cold sores, being excessively loud in the hallway after he literally witnessed and helped us put baby to nap just 2 minutes earlier). So we can’t leave them unattended, and in case of the nap, I had to take baby outside in a wrap and have him contactnap during a walk. Not fun. So there really is hardly any quality time left to spend for them. FIL only ever calls if he needs something from my husband, like a signature. He never asks about our son, never asks for photos, immediately changes topics when we talk about something we or son did, responds vaguely when we ask to do stuff together and never follows up when plans could get concrete.
My husband and I talked about trying to improve the relationship, we’d both like that, but at this rate we will see him with SILs birthday and maybe around Christmas.
Today, the reason why I am posting, is that we forgot the babymonitor at FILs during SILs birthday, and inquired whether he could send it via post. Instead, he said he would come over. Great, we thought, finally he takes initiative to see us/his grandson just because! However, he came by, would not go inside, but said he wanted to make photos at the nearby beach. We asked if he would come by again after. No, no time, apparently, he needs to do something in his yard. So he left. This is not really new behaviour, so I don’t know why we are surprised. He is frequently in the town we live in the suburbs of, or at the beach closeby, but usually we hear about it afterwards, not literally see him turn away after 3 minutes standing on the porch.
At this point, it feels intentional, and my husband and I assume he just does not want to interact with us and our son much. What if our assumption is wrong though, and his distant behaviour is based in grief and boomer-awkwardness? Husband is thinking of asking about clarification on this, as we keep trying to reach out and would then stop putting effort into this relationship that is not wanted by him, getting rejected in the process which kinda damages the relationship further. He thinks he already knows though that FIL will take it badly, misunderstand what he tries to say, tell husband he is ungrateful, yada yada. Husband sadly has a script in his head for situations like this, as they always go the same way, no matter what he asks. It seems as if he (or I) is not actually listened to when we speak. I am thinking of writing a empathic and non-judgmental letter, but husband thinks this is too confrontational and would end the same way. Anger and hurt feelings. We have had a couples therapist in the past to try to sort out the situation with MIL, but never got around to the mediation part with MIL and FIL. Husband was stalling out of fear for months and then MIL declined so rapidly. Both me and husband think there is potential in having a few family sessions with FIL and the therapist, but husband is afraid of even actually touching on the subject in conversation, much less ask for participation in therapy.
I’d like help from the community. Whenever stuff like this happens, my husbands feelings get hurt, and I am brooding all day about ways to improve the relationship without ever saying anything to FIL as husband doesn’t want to escalate anything. Are we delusional here, is there too much buried hurt and grief and should we drop the rope so FIL can live his best life? Should we make one concentrated effort, with clear words explaining how we’d like to have a better relationship and how to work towards that (e.g. no angry outbursts anymore)? The situation is so difficult as well because of lovely SIL and her life long dependancy on a caretaker. However, any care decisions have always been made and still are made without even asking what my husband thinks or wants, which will suck later on.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Tl;dr: Widower FIL is happy when he sees grandson, but does not pursue meeting up to the point it seems intentional. There is a lot of hurt feelings probably on both sides, should we keep trying to improve the relationship or let it fizzle out?

I am an incoming out of state international freshman. I have enrolled as a physics BS student. My mother wanted me to study UG at US but I was always skeptical of the idea due to the high costs. I told my mother that I will definitely go to US for PG with a clear financial plan but she was impatient and wanted me to go for UG itself. I have fought with her multiple times over this but after a point, I just gave up because it was affecting our relationship and I had to decide something before it is too late. Due to all the fighting and drama, I started to apply for the colleges a bit late. The application deadline for many of the universities was almost over by the time I started I applying. I wrote sat and scored decently around 1400. I got admitted into 7 universities out of the 8 applied. Finally I boiled down my options to Stony Brook or University of Colorado Boulder. My parents then urged me to study in Stony Brook due to the comparitively lesser cost. Some days later, I spoke to a neighbour of mine, who works as a physics professor and asked him the difference in studying physics at India and US. He said even though US has a better education system compared to India for stem related fields, the costs are unreasonable. I feel like my parents are taking an unnecessary risk by forcing me to go to US. They are completely brainwashed by a third world country sentiment that studying abroad guarantees automatic success. We had to sell an ancestral property to finance my studies at US. There was no other option for a middle class family like mine. Unlike most of the students who go out of country to study are extremely wealthy and well affiliated. I am nervous how worth my academic endeavour would be compared to the cost. I am sorry this turned into a rant but it would be really helpful if any other international student who had been in a similar situation gives me some advice on how to deal with this. What are some exciting opportunities for physics students in the university? How can I maximize my opportunities? Are there any pros of studying BS physics in Stony Brook?

I want to preface this conversation by stating that my personal experiences and observations are my own and this post is me sharing those experiences and observations. I don't like the idea of labels, and, in an ideal world, we would all just be seen as humans first, and treat each other with kindness and dignity by default.
For context about myself, I have a few friends here, both Korean and Korean American currently living here. We've known each other for years after college. They all know I'm gay. None of them are gay, but they don't care. My Korean reading, writing, typing, and speaking are all at an elementary level so this helps me in some social settings with native Koreans, especially at work. I am an English teacher. My job is exhausting but I have a good relationship with almost all my students and get occasional acknowledgement for my efforts from some of my Korean and foreign co workers.
All that said, I want to discuss some harsh truths about reality as a foreigner who is also black and gay living in South Korea. (I share this with the intention of telling my experience.)
Korea is xenophobic. Foreigners, especially foreigners with darker skin tones or foreigners from South Asian, Latin, and African countries face a pervasive discrimination that lowers the quality of life. Some examples include housing discrimination, denial of entry to various spaces for select foreigners based on appearance, intolerance from coworkers, less opportunities to assimilate and contribute to society, blatant verbal abuse on the streets under the assumption foreigners can not understand, and borderline hostile interactions upon first or extended meetings (usually in work settings).
I understand that, until 1953, Korea did not have much exposure to much of the world and the xenophobia demonstrated today is a direct result of that isolation. My family fought in that war, and it was interesting to learn about that part of my family. Anyway, hopefully, Korea can overcome this xenophobia as long as it continues to accept foreigners.
As it relates to me, everyday is an experience. While I do get stares, this does not bother me too much. And compared to my first time living in Korea, the stares seem less. What does bother me is the adopted racism Koreans have towards black people. The ignorance surrounding black people is vast. People saying whatever they want in front of you because they assume you can't understand like
야 흑인 남자 있어 ... (wow it's a black guy)
then start laughing as they proceed to talk about me as I continue walk or stand there.
Being denied entries into some restaurants or other public areas is another example (coming from friends).
People greeting me in the most bizarre and stereotypical ways like saying "Yo! Yo! Yo!" and making hand signs at me while expecting me do the same.
Certain coworkers acting borderline hostile and constantly trying to make life miserable (either through gossip, borderline physical aggression, or giving immense amounts of work).
Students asking me and the other black teachers (even if the other teacher is not American) if we have guns, but not asking any other teachers this question. Although this example is more harmless, it does demonstrate that kids have a vastly different perception of black people and this can partially be attributed to the parents.
By themselves, none of these examples are terribly bad, but when every few minutes of your day is filled with these never ending moments, it starts to erode your soul. I don't even look forward to going outside anymore. Work, buying groceries, and exercise are my only excuses for going outside. Yes, I have my friends, but they are so incredibly busy with PhD and other life endeavors that regular meetings are very difficult to maintain and puts a strain on everyone. We try, but it doesn't work.
For more context, most of the issues I discussed, aside from the language issue, I experienced in the US, where I'm from, as well, but worse. The one major benefit of Korea compared to the US is the safety, mostly.
I am just one person, and I always try to be optimistic and do what I can to have a positive impact on people, but the lack of community makes everything much more exhausting.
And I have not talked about the issues related to my sexuality.
Whether it's Korea, or any other country in the world, being both black and gay is an issue.
I knew before coming that being gay was not openly accepted in Korea. But I wasn't expecting to be lectured by my older male Korean coworkers (in both English and Korean) about not having a girlfriend. They made it sound like I'm wasting my life. I thought somehow I would be exempt from this kind of scrutiny and pressure, but no, it's still here.
Dating as a (black) gay foreigner is essentially nonexistent or if it is existent, it's a dumpster fire. Again, the ignorance and lack of knowledge around black people is vast so that doesn't help.
I am confident in my appearances and have a good body as I exercise regularly, get plenty of rest, and eat very healthy. I'm slightly above the average height here in Korea, thin, take care of my hair, and clean shaven. Financially, I have more money than most people my age from previous jobs and I have other hobbies and ambitions outside my job.
But I am black, so... to Korea (and by extension most of the world) I am not seen as their type, which is incredibly backwards thinking.
I tried Jack'd and the experience was what I expected. At first I didn't show my face in my profile pictures and only my body (fully clothed). Each guy I talked to wanted to meet me and said I had a great body and said very flattering things. Then the moment I said I was black, they said really bizarre things like "You're black? You can't be black. You're lying. Please say it's a joke. Black people are not this smart. I do not believe you. Black people are not my type." Every guy stopped talking to me after they found out I was black (I never showed my face to them or anywhere on the app. I only told them I was black).
I am just a guy who wants to enjoy life. I like to exercise, play video games, learn and explore new opportunities, and push myself to be better. I try to make the most of life but it feels like I hit a ceiling every time I try to go a little further in my pursuit to find a fulfilling life.
It would be nice to just live peacefully where people treat me like a regular person, and I don't have to hide my sexual orientation. I have my friends here and I really wish we could spend more time together but their lives are too intertwined with their own endeavors.
