2023.06.06 14:05 sentientbubbie Taking my NCLEX tomorrow 6/7 at 8:00am

Hello all! I have been stalking this sub since I graduated on April 21st, I take my NCLEX tomorrow so I wanted to post here. This has been my study plan, I used around ~600 questions in archer (scoring around 60-70 on the question bank and receiving multiple VERY HIGH chances of passing on my readiness exams). I decided to switch to Uworld after reading about some shady business Archer has done. I’ve completed 65% of the question bank with an average score of 73% and a mean score of 68%. On Uworld I have have one high, and two very high readiness assessments. I’ve also listened to a few Mark K lectures and did some NCLEX boot camp guided case studies. I’m going between being confident that I’m going to crush it, and feeling like I am going to puke then pee and poop myself. I am taking my NCLEX in PA where I attended nursing school and will update yinz when I find out how I do! If anyone has any last minute study tips or mindfulness send it my way ✨😊

2023.06.06 13:58 Windgesang_ Hunter of the moon (Lunacub guide)

Hunter of the moon (Lunacub guide)
Finally, the fifth deadeye of the game is here. I’ve been waiting for her for 7 months now. Except she has a few slight issues with her kit (yes I’m saying it straight from the start).
https://preview.redd.it/5zi7odhiwd4b1.png?width=1600&format=png&auto=webp&s=73ca2477d91066c08a463f70924313213396ca9e

Overview

Lunacub is a 5* Deadeye Sniper focusing on Camouflage. With the ability to stay camouflaged nigh-permanently, she is capable of staying deep in the enemy lines to deal some damage before everyone else, making it the next best thing to global range.

Stats

  • Offensive stats:
Deadeye Snipers have one of the best ATK stats in the entire game, losing only to Mystic Casters and Crusher Guards.
Similar to all those top ATK branch, they have a pretty slow attack interval to “compensate” at 2.7 seconds, one of the slowest of the game.
  • Defensive stats:
I have already spoiled that she has extremely long duration camouflage, which boosts her “defensive” stats by a lot. But even outside of that, her HP is strangely high and is one of the highest of all Snipers, losing only to Spreadshooters, Flingers, and Fiammetta.
Why is her HP that high? Because for some reason they decided to give her +300 HP as trust bonus, on a unit designed to have nigh-permanent Camouflage. It’s the same trust bonus as Andreana – another Deadeye – at +300 HP +40 ATK, so it’s not unprecedented, but why not going for the full ATK like Firewatch.
For a number example, at max level and max module, she gets 1996 HP. That’s extremely high for a ranged unit.
Anyway aside from that her DEF is pretty average for a sniper.
  • Cost:
Deadeye Snipers have a fairly high cost for a ST sniper. For Luna, that will be 19 at base and 21 at E1 onward.

Range

Deadeye have one of the best range in the game.
Deadeye range at base (left) and E1 onward (right)
They have the ability to reach a bit further forward than Marksman and 2 tiles further to their side which really enhance their positioning aspect because they’ll usually be able to reach the enemies even with awkward placement. Especially for Lunacub, she has even less of a positioning issue thanks to her Camo.

Trait

Prioritise attacking the enemy with the lowest DEF in range first
The Deadeye’s trait is a weird one. It’s unpredictable unless you have a solid grasp of the enemy’s stats or you are in your second attempt of the map already. It can be helpful because Casters and most ranged enemies tend to have lower DEF than their melee kin so you can take them out earlier. It’s not always true, but it’s a good starting point.
But it’s not all bad. It also prevents them from ever being distracted. There’s a typical strat that they would spawn ranged enemies following behind a defender or an elite which would usually lead to most ST units to aim at the defender instead of the ranged one, even when both are blocked. These snipers however, can snipe out those ranged enemies in advance. The same goes for enemies with Taunt (“more likely to be targeted” or “draws enemy fire” in the game’s description), the Deadeyes ignore that and only care about the DEF stats.
They also count DEF debuff/buff as well. If you have Shamare or something to reduce DEF, those guys are definitely more likely to be targeted by a Deadeye. The reverse case is someone like a Guerilla Herald, who buffs DEF for everyone but themselves and have low DEF. The Deadeyes usually target these Heralds first.
Anyway, the targeting will be annoying to get used to.

Talent: Wilderness Instinct

Available at E1: Gains [Camouflage] while this unit’s skill is not active
At E2: Gains [Camouflage] while this unit’s skill is not active; Attack interval reduced slightly after skill activation
[Camouflage]: Prevents being targeted by enemy attacks if the unit is not blocking (but will still take Splash damage)
This is the main identity for Luna, being a unit with a nigh-permanent Camouflage buff.
As stated, camouflage prevents enemies from targeting the user, but they will still take Splash damage. This Splash damage refer to most attacks that deals damage in an area.
https://i.redd.it/yh87frcrwd4b1.gif
But what’s not expected is that some attacks that looks like it should be doing damage in an AoE still wouldn’t hit camouflaged unit. For examples, Sui’s thunderbolt, Degenbrecher’s area disarm, Dorothy’s… boss thingy that deals AoE damage that split evenly between all allies, etc. My guess is that due to how these skill works, they would still have to find the unit first… or something.
Idk why either
Altars – the cold one from chapter 6 and the true damage one from chapter 7 – for some reason doesn’t affect Camo despite being completely an AoE effect. This is made worse with the fact that the true damage altar actually hit invisible units, the status that is in essence “better Camo”. But this is the only exception so far, since the cold altar doesn’t hit either of those.
I think they just forgot to fix and is now too late to fix
There are also some AoE skills that only activate if the enemy sees someone to attack. This usually means Camouflaged unit can avoid those skills, with the only exception so far is IS#2 Phantom’s AoE attack which can target an ally through Camouflage.
-if you don't see a GIF that means I was too lazy to run IS#2 again to get a recording but you can take my words for this
Her Camouflage is tied to her non-skill state though, so does this mean that if her skill is up, she will be vulnerable again? Nope because she has that extra HP hah. That and her skill is also designed accordingly with this talent, though we will have to wait until the Skill section for that.
Anyway, the second clause of the talent is that her attack interval is reduced when skill is active. This is a 15% reduction to her base amount of 2.7 seconds and is calculated before any Attack Speed (ASPD) buff. Her new attack interval with skill up, without any other ASPD, is 2.3 seconds (in 30 FPS context, that’s 69 frames, which is nice).
Spoiler I guess, but her module level 3 increases this reduction to 25%, which makes her attack interval 2.03 seconds instead.

Skills

  • RIIC skills:
Always available – Lazy Cub: When stationed at a Dorm, self morale recovery per hour +0.7
This is not much useful, considering that her other base skill isn’t used constantly either. But this essentially means that Luna will recover morale fast after working in the base.
Available at E2 – Wilderness Survival: When this Operator is assigned to the Workshop to process Skill Summaries, the production rate of byproduct increases by 80%.
Admittedly, this is the highest % chance to get byproduct for Skill Summaries (aside from Nine-Colored Deer). But, like I said, you won’t use this skill and craft skill books that much. As in, eventually, your Skill Summaries acquisition rate will be slow enough that you will only be able to craft once every long while, unless you're actively farming CA-5 (like refresh-with-OP level of actively). Side note, if you have Hellagur, he has access to this skill straight from the get-go.

First skill: Time to Hunt

  • Stats at level 7:
ATK +60%
18 seconds duration, 24 SP cost, 8 initial SP
Auto Recovery, manual activation

  • Masteries:
M3 gives ATK +100%, 20 SP cost, 10 initial SP

  • Advance Details:
Uhhhh…
This is exactly like ATK Up γ, except with a much shorter duration and cooldown. Presumably, the rotation was reduced with her talent in mind, to minimize the time when she’s vulnerable to attacks.

  • Usage:
Despite that, I don’t think the shortened cycle is enough to put Lunacub deep in the enemy lines. 18 seconds is a decently long time to get killed, even with her amazing 300 extra HP (no I will not let this go).
Technically, if she’s still vulnerable to attacks when this skill is up, we can fix that by properly timed the skill when there are no more ranged enemies around. But doing that negates the upside of short cooldown.
This skill doesn’t look too promising, not because it’s inherently bad. Rather, it pretty much removes Luna’s main identity unless you’re extremely good with skill timing and all that.
And furthermore, Andreana also has an S1 with the same +100% ATK, with similar attack rate (2.2 seconds vs Luna’s 2.033 assuming both have mod3), and Andreana’s ASPD is always active and not just during skill, and, Andreana has DEA–Ⲭ which gives her potentially even more damage.
You can definitely use it because it is Luna’s only method of gaining even more ATK, so that she can actually kill stronger enemies (or at least almost kill because now the short duration can actually hurt).

Second skill: Umbrial Ambush

  • Stats at level 7:
ASPD +110; Gain Camouflage for 5 seconds; Within the skill duration, defeating an enemy grants Camouflage for 7 seconds.
25 seconds duration, 54 SP cost, 25 initial SP
Auto Recovery, manual activation

  • Masteries:
M3 gives ASPD +140; Camouflage for 8 seconds; Defeating an enemy grants Camouflage for 8 seconds.
50 SP cost, 30 initial SP

  • Advance Details:
With 110 ASPD and her E2 talent effect, her new attack interval with this skill is 1.1 seconds, or 33 frames in a 30 FPS scale. At M3 with 140 ASPD, that interval is 0.967 second, or 29 frames. And with mod3 M3, that interval is 0.833 second (25 frames).
Luna gains 5 (8) seconds of Camouflage upon using this skill and 7 (8) seconds upon getting a kill during the skill duration. These duration don’t stacks.
That is to say, Luna will only remains in Camouflage for the next 7/8 seconds after getting a kill, regardless of when it happened.
Luna herself has to be the one delivering the killing blow to receive the Camouflage.

  • Usage:
As anyone would guess, this skill is designed to make Lunacub completely covered with Camouflage while still be able to use skill. As long as she kills something, she will get Camouflage for the next 8 seconds.
But that’s exactly where the issue is. She has to kill things constantly during her skill to achieve this permanent Camouflage. (In a perfect scenario, she would need to kill only 3 enemies if it’s perfectly spaced out every 7.9 seconds.)
She doesn’t get any +ATK with this skill, it’s pure ASPD. Meaning despite her high base ATK, that’s all she wrote. In general, her ATK is similar to a Marksman with +100% ATK, while her skill attack interval is similar to a Marksman (or shorter with mod3). Wait a minute, a Marksman with +100% ATK and Camouflage??? Oh my god RIP Ap…
Jokes aside, this idea forces Luna to only use this skill when there are kill-able mobs around. Which sounds fine, skill issue and all, but because of the lack of ATK it severely reduces the type of mobs that she can kill within 8 seconds, relegating it to mostly trash mobs.
And this is why I have always use “nigh-permanent” when talking about her Camouflage. In theory, she can roll over trash mobs and feed her Camo constantly. In practice, that uhhh… depends on a lot of things: skill issues, wave flow, amount and flow of trash mobs. Basically, even the most skillful player can still find scenarios where they can’t use the skill regardless.
Maybe the 50 SP cost is because you’re not going to be able to use this skill constantly anyway.

Modules

DEA–У
  • Stage 1:
HP +120
ATK +55
Trait upgraded: Prioritise attacking the enemy with the lowest DEF in range first; If the attacked enemy remains alive, gain 1 additional SP
Analysis: As with Firewatch’s module, this module seeks to improve her skill rotation. Sadly, HG knew they are going to give her this DEA–У module, so they masterfully “balanced” her primary skill by increasing its SP cost to 50.
Anyway, Lunacub was released during a time when HG had already realised that SP cost should just stay low. With her DEA–У module, her S2 50 SP cost can be brought down to a minimum of about 36? But then, why not give her 40 SP cost and then give her DEA–Ⲭ instead? I know I have discovered that DEA–Ⲭ doesn’t give that much boost at mid-range but something is better than nothing.
Well, that’s enough rant for this section.
You can technically use S1 and have an extremely low downtime though, similar to Firewatch S1 (same SP cost and all), though with a much shorter skill duration. Admittedly, her S2 is her identity skill and this mod helps “fix” the SP cost. So yes, it’s a very important mod for Luna.
Important note: the attacked enemy has to lose HP in order for DEA-У to give SP. That is to say, if the target dodged or negated the damage with Barrier (Big Sad Lock, SSS Sloma tower boss…), these Deadeyes will not get SP.

  • Stage 2: (stat boosts do not stack, only replace)
HP +145
ATK +63
Talent upgraded: Gains [Camouflage] while this unit’s skill is not active; Attack interval reduced slightly after skill activation (-20%). {Upgraded from -15%}
  • Stage 3:
HP +160
ATK +68
Talent upgraded: Gains [Camouflage] while this unit’s skill is not active; Attack interval reduced after skill activation (-25%). {Upgraded from -20%}
Analysis: This is a pretty sizeable boost to her attack interval. As mentioned before, it decreases her S1 attack interval from 2.3 seconds to 2.033 seconds, and her S2M3 attack interval from 0.97 seconds to 0.83.
Module upgrades materials are pretty limited, so in the grand scheme, this module is not worth it because Luna herself is not worth it. But for Lunacub specifically, this module is very good if you want to stick with her. It covers her S2 SP cost, gives her even more attack rate for both skills, and provides her with more ATK which she will definitely need if you use S2.

Concluding thoughts

Lunacub is designed to stay in Camouflage and snipe enemies from really dangerous position. Unless if there are AoE environmental hazards (altars excluded) or enemies that deal AoE damage without needing to target anything (like the mushroom from SN). If she can feed off of mobs, she can stay in Camouflage permanently
  • S1 is her only +ATK source. This makes it worth a consideration when Luna is not in danger but you need more damage to kill anything other than trash mobs. That in turns make her unique talent irrelevant, or at least half-irrelevant, and is essentially a side-grade Andreana S1. That sounds sad doesn’t it. You can use it while abusing the camo off-skill (and that +300HP) to dodge the low traffic ranged attacks (why I said half-irrelevant), but if you are at that strategical prowess already, you don’t need this guide.
  • S2 is Luna’s identity. She can go extremely aggressive because of her Camo. With some fodder, Luna can stay almost permanently in Camouflage. The lack of any ATK boost limits the kind of mobs that she can kill, so she’s relegated to mostly weak fodders. She also prefers to be placed away from other DPS or it’ll be a struggle of kill to get Camo. The only major issue is AoE damage (and reveal but we haven’t seen those enemies for a long time until the recent floor 3 boss map in IS#3: Requiem Aeternam and Eternal Wrath, 2 same maps but different boss).
For most people, their first comparison to Luna is Firewatch. Both are Deadeyes that revolves around staying undetected. But Firewatch is far more powerful. Invisible is a definite step above Camouflage. Her Invisible has 50 seconds duration with a downtime of around 15-20. She deals bonus damage to ranged enemies, removing the need for Invi/Camo, though she may or may not target them first. Luna can have permanent camo, though that will be without skill or pray that she kill enemies properly with S2. It is much easier for Luna to be placed aggressively compared to Firewatch, but Firewatch gives a much better reward if you can make it.
Another comparison is someone I made a joke about way earlier: April. Both are Camo Sniper that revolves around being capable of going deep in the enemy’s line and kill something (maybe). With both of their S2 up, they have similar stats: 1200 ATK and about 1 second attack interval. The advantage here isn’t any skill rotation or DPS or whatever, but that April has guaranteed 26 seconds Camo duration whereas Luna needs to get kills. This guaranteed duration allows her to spend time killing (or at least wounding) the stronger enemies unlike Luna who only have a third of that time. Also, April only needs that deployment slot when she’s ready, while Luna has to hog it the entire time. April has an easier time moving around the map. Luna’s only advantages are range, which are rarely seen and/or are not hard to work around, and more importantly her off-skill state for long duration fighting (like I said, something is better than nothing), for example against global range mechanics like Faust or Talulah.
But those are comparisons made while focusing on their innate mechanics of Invi/Camo. What about their designed role? Who else is designed to be stationed deep in the enemies line, having specific talent that will allow them to stay alive in the thick of things, to deal damage before anyone else? That’s right, it is time to talk about Kira…
Throughout this whole thing you might have noticed that I have been constantly saying that Luna is incapable of killing anything but trash mobs. That’s technically not true of course. But given the design of Luna’s kit, her most unique role is to stay undetected behind the enemy’s line to deal damage, and in order to do that she needs to kill an enemy every 7.9 seconds (btw I hope you understand why I keep saying 7.9 instead of 8).
Given this time restriction and the fact that she gets no extra ATK boost, the only thing she can kill within that time are basic mobs. Basic here actually covers a wide array of weak fodders: slugs, doggos, literal basic mobs, their archer version, and their caster version, with some occasional drones. So as much as I keep saying “limited” to trash mobs, it’s a bigger list than it seems. The downside here is that it’s trash mobs, there are plenty of ways of killing trash mobs that don’t involve even 6*.
If you are not using her unique talent, you are essentially using the worst Deadeye Sniper, if not just one of the worst 5* Snipers, with either of her skills (except for maybe Firewatch S1 against pure melee but she has an easy fix for that). No I’m not kidding. I’m not saying you are wrong to prefer using her. I’m just saying to expect accordingly.
So plop her deep in the enemy lines, time her skill correctly, and you can have a unit that filters out trash mobs before they reach your frontline. That’s her best and only value.

Outro

So uhh, how’s your 10 dupe Lunacub doing? Anyway, I really love the Deadeye branch in general, so I was kinda thrilled to see a new one announced 7 months ago on CN server. Too bad what we ended up getting is a ST Kirara but thankfully can actually survive and kill things. Still a great addition to my team though. Anyway thanks for reading I guess?

2023.06.06 13:48 UWG-Grad_Student What I Learned Trying To Cheating and Why You Shouldn't Do It

TL;DR: Don't cheat. It isn't worth it. Plus, it makes the game less fun.
Disclaimer, I'm going to be intentionally vague with the details so others won't try to duplicate what I did.
One day I was sitting on the toilet and had an awesome idea. Why do I need to press all the keys that rotation addons suggest? Why don't I just figure out a way to make the addon do the work for me instead? I can clean up my UI and really enjoy the game instead of staring at flashing buttons. Sounds great, right? Wrong!
Now, people who've been using such addons for a while probably know the answer already, but I'm a filthy casual who just returned to the game after a long hiatus. This is for people who've ever wondered the same thing.
First, I downloaded the addon I wanted and started digging into the files. Lua is a pretty easy language if you are only using it to modify existing addons. I didn't encounter any of the syntax spiciness which usually comes from using a new language. I probably spent a total of five minutes on StackOverflow to answer all my questions. Fellow programmers will appreciate that comment, haha.
I made modifications within the existing addon files on my computer and instead of having it cast directly in game as a /cast action. I had it go to a script that would update and execute any time I held down a button on my mouse.
I was definitely breaking ToS by doing it, but I felt invincible.
I tried it out on a training dummy and the numbers were looking amazing, so I queued up for an LFR. That's when everything went sideways.
It started off on trash. The addon kept suggesting I change targets to better apply DoT's. However, I had turned off the addon UI, so I didn't know. My numbers went directly into the dumpster. Okay, easy modification. I'll just turn the addon UI back on and keep an eye on it.
Second, the addon kept tossing interrupts out, but by the time I got one off, someone else had interrupted, so I was wasting mine then didn't have it when it was needed. Okay, another modification to remove interrupts. I guess doing one thing manually isn't a big deal.
Next, I started blowing my big CD's on worthless moments. Okay, I'll just remove my big CD's. But, now that's another button to press.
It kept going like that for a while. I kept slowly removing stuff until my mouse was basically doing the job of hitting my filler for me.
The final straw came when a proc happened right as my trinket came off cooldown. Both queued at once and broke the whole thing. It was an edge case I hadn't really thought about and was a pretty easy fix, but I realized it just wasn't worth it. I deleted the whole project and went back to regular pleb button smashing.
Here's what I learned from the whole experience.
So, there you have it. This is a game. It supposed to be fun. Cheating made it less fun and more work, so don't bother. Just learn your class instead. You'll be happier in the long run.

2023.06.06 13:47 phaattiee Thoughts on Skull-Port side quest for my players.

I'm running Misker as an old Beholder mage who resorted to magic as he began losing his natural eyestalk powers to old-age. He's hold up in his 3 story mansion since the Xanathar took over that can only be accessed by collecting 3 keys that can be found in each of his 3 warehouses. Needless to say the warehouses are going to contain some obscure puzzles and booby traps. Misker put out a notice at the Heralds meet years ago claiming that any that are worthy of challenging him for ownership of what's left of his empire must first succeed in finding the keys. Which Isn't a whole lot since its been at least 20 years since anyone last saw or heard from him most of his empire has disbanded or been absorbed my the Xanathar. The warehouses will contain ample reward for the players along the way as well as the deeds to an old rundown pub (Trollskull Tavern). Here are my ideas for the warehouses, any thoughts and feedback is much appreciated, the vibe is harry-potter goblet of fire tasks.
Warehouse 1.
Once the party enter the warehouse via finesse or brute force at first glance it will be filled with ordinary stored contraband, silks, metals (not precious), maybe some simple weaponry, tools, rope, canvas for ship sails etc... general goods nothing too fascinating... canvas sheets cover most of the boxes with a couple decades worth or dust sitting on top, they'll notice a small stone pedestal in the centre of the room, perched on which is a modified "bear trap" with one of the skeleton keys perched within. If the players investigate they'll find that it is booby trapped to go off once the key is removed... for the rogue easy peasy... if they successfully disarm and remove the key however this will trigger the stereotypical "bear trap" in which an owl bear is summoned directly above the player with the key... queue Professor Lupin boggart theme music (or similar) coming from a nearby record player... the owl bear lands for bludgeoning damage, Dex saves are rolled, initiative is rolled. However the key is also cursed to affect whoever is in the room with Bane, saves rolled once then and every hour there forth until the curse is removed or dispelled from the key. Throughout the fight with the Owl-bear, petrified goblin garden gnomes hidden throughout the warehouse will (as a reaction) cast vicious mockery on the players every-time they attempt to attack something in a whiney irish accent "you couldn't hit the floor if you fell over". Think of the gnomes from Fable, this will be a running theme. Finding and Destroying the Gnomes ends the effect. On completion the players will attempt to leave from whence they came if they dont try to leave sooner. On doing so if they leave through the doors they came (the only legitimate way in or out), they'll get sucked in momentarily to a demi plane (Feywild), a lush glade with a large willow tree in the centre, above the door one of the gnomes says "You'll think twice about going back through there" with the idea being if they were to return back through the doors they would end up back on the streets of Skull-Port a cheeky clue/bluff. Successful Perception checks from a distance will show a hidden passage at the base of the willow tree trunk. any attempt to get close though will result in them getting "Whomped!". the tonal shift from sunny flowery glade will then go full prisoner of Azkaban showing decade old skeletons tangled up in vines around the glade. The terrain is considered difficult and the players have to roll against being grappled at the beginning of each turn whilst fending off Whomps from the willow. If they make it to the secret passage beneath the tree this will conclude the puzzle resulting in a moderate amount of Booty and plunder.
Warehouse 2.
Same jist only this time its a key in a Bowl of Sand, just as a player is about to touch it the key sinks into the sand and the ground turns to quicksand, the sand reaches up engulfing the players arm (roll against grapple) as a Sand elemental (Statblock will be a combination of Earth and Water elementals combining the burrow and whelm abilities) starts to form around the bowl and pedestal. This time they have to roll twice against the bane effect from this key and the other in their possession (If they haven't dispelled or removed the curse from the first one) and the penalty will increase to a d6. no Gnomes this time though as it might be a bit harsh idk let me know. Initiative starts they'll soon find that the best they can do is keep the elemental at bay for a round if they deal enough damage in one combat round, the abundance of sand pretty much makes it invincible. The answer will be to let themselves get sucked down beneath the sand to a room below. Insert Harry potter chess game with petrified adventurers as pieces/constructs that have attempted Miskers challenge in the past... the key now hangs around the neck of the king. A game of chess ensues (I'm 1700-1800 rated so it wont be a walk in the park for them). Everytime they wish to take a piece or be taken a single round of combat will take place between the player and the constructs Stat blocks to be made still until they are subsequently defeated. This is only the case for the players normal chess rules apply for all the other pieces for the sake of time. If they attempt to break the rules, all the constructs will attack them at once. Misker is actually watching them through a scrying eye gem stone on the far side of the wall and controlling his pieces at this point. Once they get a hold of the key they will be teleported out of the room into a seperate hidden warehouse in Skullport that has some BOOTY and loot. A cheat is to ignore the game of chess and go straight for the key, with no conceivable entrance or exit however they will probably feel required to play Miskers game before moving on.
Warehouse 3
Misker recruited a coven of Portal Hags that control the eb and flow of the underground water caverns via portals to the plane of water for this one.
The last Warehouse doesn't have anything in it other than a mirror in the centre of the room. on a close inspection. The mirror is almost liquid and metallic in appearance and touch. Above the mirror is a Goblin garden gnome, it speaks a riddle, the players answer correctly it lets them enter through the mirror... only when they reach the other side they are in an identical room... alone.
This part I will carry out in 1-1 sessions with the players...
The room is identical to the previous and has no ceiling and extends upwards indefinitely into darkness... metallic statues of adventurers are set in alcoves in the walls all with horrified looks on their faces (think Han solo frozen but as a statue not a slab). A metallic silhouette of themselves appears in the mirror, the gnome gives each of them a riddle that is tailored to their characters personality/backstory somehow. they have a 1 minute timer to answer, if they dont answer or answer incorrectly the metallic silhouette figure will lunge forth and attack them (identical stat-block to themselves), the task ends when they either answer the riddle correctly or defeat/are defeated by their reflection.
If they lose this battle they will start to feel a cold metallic liquid begin to engulf their body as they drift off into unconsciousness, their blurred vision will show the silhouette begin to fill with colour and material as though its fully becoming them, just as they close their eyes this dopple-ganger of themselves will step back through the mirror, this will be the last image their character see's as they step through the mirror.
I'm at odds how to continue the players character progression here my ideas are as follows, they roll a new character sheet and I RP their character as an agent of the Portal Hags or, they continue as their character only they are now tethered to the Hags as a sort of Warlock/Patron-Esque relationship, I know there are lots of controversial thoughts on forcing classes on players but they failed the task and effectively died or are in a cryogenically frozen state currently so if they want to continue as their character there need to be repercussions If not forced class levels it could be in the form of a curse binding them to the Portal Hags Coven etc IDK hit me with ideas.
When they step through the mirror finally im in two minds. Either they enter into Miskers Manse where they will have to fight the beholder as his thoughts are... only those that can defeat me are worthy of my Booty/Legacy... he wants to die fighting than of old age as old age is undignified for a beholder, The whole reason he resorted to magic was to try and become an undead beholder Lich but has come to the realisation that it is too late for him, the whole reason he set this game up is to have greedy adventurers and treasure hunters come to him to he can absorb their life essence and sustain his existence longer in the hopes of still becoming a Lich, part of his egomaniacal personality believes this is still possible whilst the other half, his more logical/genius pragmatic sort recognises the reality, and thus this whole process appeases both aspects of his personality.
I was thinking of running one more challenge as part of the 3rd warehouse, after stepping through the mirror I was thinking of having a final treasure room (where the bulk of Miskers loot is), that has a replicating item enchantment on it (Bellatrix Vault) only these turn into swarms of tiny mimics and raggamoffyn's. But this might be too much right before fighting Misker...
Go straight from fighting themselves to fighting misker? or collect the final key in the final vault and give them a chance to rest before then heading to Misker's Manse... They may need to be at full strength to fight a few century old Beholder pirate lord mage.
Thoughts? discussions? all constructive criticism welcome!

2023.06.06 13:32 cosmoshistorian A Rocket Lab Due Diligence (DD), it is time we discuss this company seriously.

A Rocket Lab Due Diligence (DD), it is time we discuss this company seriously.

Rocket Lab Due-Diligence (DD)

‘We Open Access to Space to Improve Life on Earth.’

Introduction

With the 2024 first launch of the Rocket Lab Mega Constellation Launcher—The Neutron—fast approaching, I decided it is high time for a more up-to-date DD on Rocket Lab. A lot is happening in the industry, the company, and the world. I have decided to dive into the future, fundamentals, industry, funding, financials, dreams, and of course, the memes of the aspiring space company. Now, I am posting my DD into both of the Rocket Lab subreddit, as I am new to writing DD and I want to hit as wide of an audience as I can. One disclaimer (for those who do not like stock talk), this DD is not meant to encourage buying of the stock, nor is it financial advice or a stock-only DD, I merely want to dive into this company and simply spark some discussion on it!
Now, Rocket Lab is a private aerospace manufacturer and small satellite launch service provider. The company was founded in 2006 by Peter Beck and is headquartered in Long Beach, California, with additional facilities in New Zealand and Australia. Rocket Lab specializes in the development and launch of small rockets capable of delivering payloads of up to 300 kilograms to low Earth orbit. Rocket Lab—self-designated as a leader in launch and space systems—is a company that has a chance at becoming a highly profitable giant over the next decade and beyond. In my honest opinion, Rocket Lab currently thrives off of the crumbs of the current space industry ecosystem. With Space X increasingly focused upon one goal—thanks to their controversial, yet nevertheless, fearless leader—being Mars, Rocket Labs can (and in my opinion will) become one of the go-to space companies for low earth orbit launches in the near term and in the long-term become one of the go-to space company for launches between the Moon, Venus, and Mars as well. Rocket Lab currently lives off of the crumbs left behind by NASA, Space X, and the United States military-industrial complex.
Like these two legends from the movie War Dogs, Rocket Lab is determined to become the go-to space company for transporting all types of goods into orbit. For those of you who have not seen the movie (I personally highly recommend it), essentially, when these two start their arms-dealing company, they focus upon all of the small contracts that the government is putting out for arms supplies. The contracts that the big players are ignoring, due to their small sizes, even so, these small contracts are worth hundreds of thousands to low millions. Now, this is where Rocket Lab currently lies in the industry.
\"A new space race has begun, and most Americans are not even aware of it. This race is not [about] political prestige or military power. This new race involves the whole human species in a contest against time.\" - Ben Bova
Now, before I dive into everything here, I need every to understand that this industry is on the verge of immense change and rapid evolution. We are currently in the first stage of the world’s Second Space Race. As a student of History, I can confidently tell you that there are murmurings within the historical community, that this is the case, beginning with the creation and success of Space X’s first reusable rocket: the Falcon 9. On December 21st of 2015, when the first Falcon 9 was launched and the landing was successful with the first stage fully recovered, the race began. In the same way that there is no single company above all others in the airline, shipping & transportation, or car manufacturing industries, is the same reason I do not believe that Space X will alone run the space industry’s transportation needs. There is plenty of room for companies like Rocket Lab to fill the gaps Space X cannot and in a decade’s time, there will be plenty of room for even more companies. Yet, there are no companies that are even close to competing with Space X—other than Rocket Lab—at this time. Now, I won’t go deeply into most of these competitors in this deep dive, but to be short, Astra is on the verge of total failure, Virgin Galactic has been playing an entirely different game—space tourism, which there is a massive market for, just perhaps won’t be penetrated by them—they likewise seem to be failing. While Blue Origin has been playing a strong game and Space X an even stronger one, albeit more and more focused solely on Mars as the years go on.
Here you can see the 1-year charts of Rocket Lab, Astra, Virgin, and Boeing for reference, as you can see, these charts speak volumes. Rocket Lab has been having a tough year but has found a nice bottom and is consistently bouncing from lows in the $2.92-3 range. While Astra has been reduced to a penny stock, with their future unknown. Virgin Galactic is only maintaining below Rocket Lab’s share price, partly due to the large number of Retail investors that do not know much and refuse to let it die, coupled with a small hope that the company can recover in the coming years. Boeing is here for reference as to what a successful, large-cap company involved in a similar industry (and the space industry as well), should look like over the course of a decent year.
Now, there are a few assumptions that I am making that we need to cover before diving into the real DD: Whether it be because we live in the beginnings of a second Space Race (fueled by privatized space companies and the world’s governments) or because of technological advancement and a rising interest in space, the increase in rocket launches, space development (in Earth’s orbit, the Moon, and Mars), and the lowering costs of space launches… it will become exponentially cheaper, easier, and faster to launch into orbit and the industry as a whole will have a massive boom—akin, in a way, to the industrial revolution—over the mid-to-late 2020s into the early 2030s. With the mid-to-end 2030s and early 2040s, we will see massive developments in terms of low-Earth orbit manufacturing facilities, tourist destinations, and stations, as well as settlements on the Moon for mining and refueling for greater exploration and colonization of the Sol System as a whole.
Now these are in part assumptions, but I think once one does the research and looks at the fact, all of this is very achievable. Even if it does not occur in this way, you can shift the dates by an additional decade and every time you do, the more likely, easier, and cheaper it all becomes.
Rocket Lab's business model revolves around providing cost-effective and frequent access to space for small satellite operators. The company aims to simplify the process of deploying satellites by offering dedicated launches on its Electron rocket. Rocket Lab operates as an end-to-end service provider, handling the entire launch process from mission planning and payload integration to launch and on-orbit operations.

Section 1: Rocket Lab Takes Flight! The Electron & the Neutron

‘Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering reliable launch services, complete spacecraft design and manufacturing, satellite components, flight software, and an on-orbit management.’ – Rocket Labs
Rocket Lab's primary launch vehicle, the Electron, is a two-stage rocket powered by Rutherford engines, which use electric-pump-fed LOX/RP-1 propellants. The Electron is designed to optimize cost, flexibility, and rapid launch capability for small satellites. Rocket Lab has demonstrated numerous successful launches since its inaugural flight in 2017, showcasing its technological prowess and reliability. The small satellite market has been growing rapidly, driven by increased demand for data collection, communications, and Earth observation. Rocket Lab's focus on dedicated launches for small satellites positions it well to capture a significant portion of this expanding market. The company has already established a solid customer base, securing contracts with government agencies, research institutions, and commercial entities.
Rocket Labs—at the time of writing this—has had 37 launches—with a 91.89% success rate—deployed 164 satellites, operates 3 launch pads, and is maintaining 3 Photon Satellites in the Earth’s orbit. Of the 164 satellites launched by Rocket Labs, they were commissioned to do so by a wide variety of clients, from NASA, Space Force, DARPA, to Canon. Rocket Labs is supported by Future Fund: Australia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, Khosla Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Data Collective, Greenspring Associates, ACC, Promus Ventures, L One W One Ltd., and Lockheed Martin.
Rocket Lab’s main rocket, the Electron—built and operated by Rocket Lab—has flown 37 times and been successful 34 times, with only 3 failures. Rocket Lab’s key areas of business penetration lie in the launch of mid-sized service rockets, the manufacturing of space systems and satellites, and their adept ability to manufacture industrial space parts, applications, and proponents. The latter of which, they are sort of unopposed in terms of competition.
The Neutron—Rocket Lab’s medium-lift, mega constellation launcher—will be able to launch 13,000 kilograms into low Earth orbit and it will be …drum roll please… reusable! The current goal is for it to launch in 2024. It will be designed for not only low earth orbital supply missions, but also deep space missions, and even human spaceflight. It will be fairing a design allowing for full reusability of the first stage and it will be lightweight, being made of Rock Lab’s own carbon composite structure. The home base for the Neutron will be at the Neutron Production Complex and the launch pad at the NASA Wallops Flight Facility and Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
‘The Neutron Production Complex will be home to a rocket production, assembly, and integration facility, as well as a dedicated launch pad for the Neutron rocket located on the southern end of Wallops Island. The estimated 250,000 square foot state-of-the-art complex will be constructed on a 28-acre site adjacent to the Wallops Island Flight Facility and will include a Launch Control Center, Rocket Lab’s fifth global operations center for launch activities and on-orbit operations. To support rapid production of the Neutron rocket, current plans for the complex include automated fiber placement robotic production systems capable of laying up meters of Neutron’s new, specially formulated carbon composite structures in minutes. As a reusable rocket, Neutron is designed to land back on the Launch Complex 3 pad after a mission and from there it would be returned to the production complex for refurbishment and re-flight.’
With Space X dominating large-load space orbital flight and transportation, Rocket Labs, in my honest opinion, is where Space X was roughly something like 6-8 years ago. While Rocket Lab intends to compete with Space X—whether it will be considered competition in an industry this brand new and small, time will tell—for cargo and humans to the low Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars, and even Venus! Space X and Elon Musk have made it abundantly clear that the goal of Space X is the large-scale settlement of Mars. While later models of Rocket Lab’s Neutron will be able to go to Mars and Venus, it appears that is not their main goal. In the near term (being the next two decades), they will be looking to dominate the low Earth orbit and Moon market as well as the manufacturing of industrial space parts, applications, and proponents.

Section 2: The Space Industry & Company Fundamentals

Rocket Lab faces competition from other commercial launch providers, such as SpaceX, Blue Origin, and Virgin Orbit. However, the company differentiates itself by specializing in small satellite launches, offering a tailored solution for this niche market. Rocket Lab's Electron rocket provides the advantage of dedicated launches and the flexibility to reach specific orbits, making it an attractive option for small satellite operators.
Rocket Lab has raised significant funding through various investment rounds, securing capital from venture capital firms, strategic partners, and government entities. Notable investors include Khosla Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Lockheed Martin. The company's ability to attract substantial investment indicates confidence in its business model and growth potential. Rocket Lab operates within the regulatory framework of the countries in which it launches its rockets. The company holds necessary licenses and approvals from government agencies, such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States and the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Compliance with safety regulations and adherence to environmental guidelines are crucial aspects of Rocket Lab's operations.
Despite its achievements, Rocket Lab faces several risks and challenges. The space industry is highly competitive, and the success of the company depends on its ability to secure launch contracts and maintain a steady launch cadence. Regulatory changes, launch failures, or delays could impact Rocket Lab's operations and reputation. Additionally, the emergence of new technologies or market disruptors could pose a threat to the company's market position
Now, let’s talk about the elephant in the room, the Quarterly Results. To preface, negative quarterly results mean—pardon my French—jack-shit (at least in the short term) for a company such as Rocket Lab, that is looking at penetrating a market such as the space industry. We are going to look at the past four Quarterly Results in chronological order.
Q2 2022 Report: Rocket Lab achieved record revenue of $55.5 million, showing significant growth compared to the previous quarter (36% sequential growth) and the same quarter in the previous year (392% YoY growth). Despite the revenue growth, the company reported a negative EPS of $-0.08, indicating a net loss for the quarter.
Q3 2022 Report: Another record revenue was achieved, reaching $63.1 million, with a sequential growth of 14% and an impressive YoY growth of 1,093%. The company's EPS improved slightly to $-0.07 but still remained negative. The fourth quarter revenue is expected to be lower, ranging between $51 million and $54 million, as a launch customer's push extends into 2023.
Q4 2022 Report: The company's revenue for Q4 reached $51.8 million, showing a healthy year-over-year growth of 88%. The full-year revenue for fiscal 2022 amounted to $211 million, reflecting substantial growth of 239% compared to the previous year. The EPS remained negative at $-0.08.
Q1 2023 Report: The revenue for Q1 2023 was $54.9 million. Increasing revenue by 35% in the first quarter of 2023. Revenue from their launch business was $19.6 million, up $12 million from the prior quarter. Their EPS was $-0.08, indicating strong maintenance of their business. The second quarter is expected to show a significant revenue increase, with an estimated range of $60 million to $63 million.
Now, what does this all tell us? Firstly, they were very forthcoming with the quarterly expectations. Something one might think is not a big deal, but considering how a lot of publicly traded companies operate, this is a good thing. In each of their earnings reports, they have nearly exactly estimated their results, showing they are not attempting to mislead investors. The company has experienced impressive revenue growth throughout the reported quarters, indicating strong market performance and demand for its products/services. However, the negative EPS values suggest that the company is still operating at a net loss. From a shareholder’s perspective, the company's focus should be on achieving profitability and reducing the negative EPS, while maintaining consistent revenue growth. In my opinion, this stock is sitting just below a fair market value for what it is right now, sitting at just over $4, considering they are not fully profitable. Yet Rocket Lab continues to grow its business, making more contracts, and it stands a competitive chance. If they can turn a profit within 2-3 years, I think they will be one hell of a company. With their competitors failing left and right and none finding the success as Rocket Lab—other than Space X—they could stand to be a massive company in a few decades, so massive, they’re bigger than Earth.
One last financial point to touch upon… shorting, so here is some data, which is roughly one month outdated due to my difficulty in finding up-to-date information on the company without a Bloomberg Terminal (So, if anyone on the sub has access to a Bloomberg Terminal and would like to add to my DD in the comments, please do).
Last Record Date: May 15, 2023
Outstanding Shares: 478,660,000 shares
Float Size: 262,310,000 shares
Short Percent of Float: 9.80% (The short percent of float represents the percentage of shares available for trading that have been sold short).
Average Trading Volume: 4,044,396 shares
Current Short Volume: 25,710,000 shares
Previous Short Volume: 24,630,000 shares
Change Vs. Previous Month: +4.38%
Dollar Volume Sold Short: $111.58 million
Short Interest Ratio / Days to Cover: 7.7 (This ratio indicates the number of days it would take for the short sellers to cover their positions based on the average daily trading volume.).
The short interest in Rocket Lab has increased from the previous month, with a change of +4.38%. The short percent of the float is 9.80%, indicating that a significant portion of the available shares for trading has been sold short. Now, Rocket Lab’s short interest is relatively low for a company that has had consistent negative EPS and revenue. Showcasing that the big players in markets either A) believe this company will make a massive turnaround in the near future (1-3 years mark) or B) Rocket Lab, due to its size, is thankfully not on their radar. However, that said, the off-exchange short percentage is 57.69%, showcasing that A) public on-exchange short volume is a complete hoax and Hedge Funds, and other big players are beating down on the stock or B) all of this information is completely misrepresented to retail traders on purpose and the entirety of the United States market system is a complete farce.

Section 3: Future Prospects & Big Moves

Rocket Lab has demonstrated strong performance and growth potential in the emerging small satellite launch market. The company continues to refine its launch processes, aiming to increase launch frequency and reduce costs further. Additionally, Rocket Lab has plans to develop a larger reusable rocket called Neutron, targeting the medium-lift market segment, which would expand its capabilities and market reach. The company has the potential to be the go-to company for low Earth orbital launches in the short term and in the long term, one of, if not the go-to company, for transportation to the Moon, Mars, and Venus.
Peter Beck, founder and CEO of Rocket Lab, did an interview last month on his take on the industry and their future prospects. I wanted to touch briefly on this (you can find the video on YouTube).
Firstly, the video begins with the commentator stating, "With the Space Race this week," the Space X rocket, the most powerful ever built, has scrubbed its launch. While Rocket Lab is adding a new service for testing hypersonic sub-orbital launches, being a welcome addition to the company’s wide array of services. Beck states that it is a very exciting time, stating that “the United States is kind of lacking behind in hypersonic technologies and this is a great opportunity to have high cadence, test flight environment for these payloads to really move forward the US’s hypersonic research.” He goes on to talk about how these capabilities are essentially repurposed from Rocket Lab’s Electron Rocket capabilities: “We take a standard Electron orbital-class launch vehicle and we fly it in some really unique trajectories to provide these hypersonic trajectories… it is taking an Electron and making a couple wee tweaks to it and having a great high frequency hypersonic testing platform that hasn’t existed.” Beck goes on to speak on the launch cadence “being on target for 15 flights” this year with the fastest turn around this year being 7 days between flights, saying “the machine is cranking and the vehicles are flying successfully and the last flight was a reusable vehicle and we splashed that down successfully and now we’re kind at the point where we are recycling and harvesting engines and components off of those launch vehicles and getting ready to put them back into service and re-fly them.” He continues, stating, “I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say exactly, but… a whole multiple gambit of reused components that are all now re-entering the production line and going back into service.” Morgan Brennan, the interviewer then speaks to how there is this emerging mismatch between supply and demand when it comes to the satellite launch market, with the fact that there are so many satellite constellations that are poised to go into orbit in the coming years and not enough capacity in terms of launching them. So, she then asks about the reusability of Electron and the development of the Neutron. Beck states that, “Electron is really serving that market very well, and there are lots of flight opportunities that are sort of just doing its thing, Neutron is the new flight opportunity for us… 2026 to 2030 timeframe there is a massive deficit in launch and there are lots of constellations that are all really vying for an ability to get in orbit, so we saw that coming and started work on the vehicle and hopefully we can bring it into service in 2024 and really solve some of those problems and take advantage of that market opportunity.”
Now, I don’t have to tell you all that this is very good to hear from Beck and this is very exciting, showcasing that he really believes Rocket Lab can penetrate this market and become a big player in the ever-evolving industry.
Rocket Lab Making Big Moves Lately:
· Bought SPCE launch platforms in Florida, this was a big win for the company, and folk on the sub were very excited to see this happen. Yay! But, sad and unfortunate for Virgin Galactic, which I am sure many of us space enthusiasts had higher hopes for, oh well, not everyone can achieve their dreams.
· Rocket Lab reached a new Company record of nine launches within a calendar year.
· Achieved a record of 100% mission success for Electron launches for the year.
· Successfully launched CAPSTONE mission to the Moon for NASA, including the first demonstration of Lunar Photon spacecraft platform.
· Successfully deployed two satellites to space for NASA’s TROPICS mission on the first of two dedicated launches on Electron for the constellation scheduled in May 2023.
· Secured another NASA mission to Electron’s 2023 launch manifest with its Starling mission. Rocket Lab was selected by NASA to launch the Starling mission on an expedited timeline due to long delays and uncertainty with the mission’s original launch provider.
· Signed multiple new launch contracts on Electron for 2023 for undisclosed commercial satellite customers previously manifested on another small launch vehicle, demonstrating Electron’s strong position as a reliable and dependable ride to orbit for small satellite operators.
· Introduced Rocket Lab’s new HASTE launch vehicle, a suborbital testbed launch vehicle derived from the Company’s Electron rocket to provide reliable, high-cadence flight test opportunities to support the development of advanced hypersonic systems technology.
· Announced that the Company will fly a pre-launched 3D printed Rutherford engine on an upcoming mission in Q3’23, a major step in evolving the Electron launch vehicle into a reusable rocket.
· Delivered financial results that exceeded the high end of prior guidance for revenue and gross margin.
· Launched three successful Electron missions in the first quarter for commercial constellation operators HawkEye 360, Capella Space, and BlackSky.
· Successfully completed the Company’s first launch from its U.S. launch site, Rocket Lab Launch Complex 2, at the Virginia Spaceport Authority’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport on January 24, 2023. The mission deployed three satellites for radio frequency geospatial analytics provider HawkEye 360.
· Successfully completed the Company’s fastest turnaround between launches to date – just seven days between its 34th Electron launch, “Stronger Together”, from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 2 in Virginia on March 16, 2023, and its 35th Electron launch, “The Beat Goes On”, from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand on March 24, 2023.
· Rocket Lab remains the only U.S. commercial small launch provider to successfully deliver satellites to orbit in 2023. Secured a multi-mission contract with Capella Space to launch four more dedicated launches on Electron in 2023.
· Achieved programmatic milestones for the Company’s two Photon spacecraft to support NASA’s ESCAPADE mission to Mars, and for the Photon spacecraft for a Varda Space Industries’ mission to manufacture high-value products in zero gravity. Both Photon programs include Rocket Lab star trackers, reaction wheels, solar panels, flight software, and radios – demonstrating the value and strength of the Company’s vertical integration and in-house supply chain.

Conclusion: An Ode to Humanity's Future

Rocket Lab has established itself as a leading player in the small satellite launch market, offering dedicated launch services tailored to the needs of small satellite operators. The company's technological capabilities, solid customer base, and innovative approach position it well for future growth.
Those who lived and grew up in the 1960s and 1970s believed that by the 21st century, mankind would be a space-faring civilization. People had a fascination with the unknown. It was embedded in pop culture, in movies like the 2001 Space Odyssey, Alien, and the Star Trek series. But the unfortunate truth is that after Apollo 17 on the 19th of December 1972, mankind has not left low-earth orbit. The American public lost interest, the government cut funding, and the Saturn V rockets were dismantled and replaced by space shuttles in the 1980s (spaceships not even built to leave low-earth orbit). The curiosity and desire to unravel the mystery of the universe are now again filling the hearts of people. Technology is becoming more advanced and cheaper.
With companies like Rocket Lab and Space X, the future is looking bright. We currently live in an era of mass information. One of the hardest aspects of life in the early-21st-century is learning how to filter all this information. The news of the accomplishments of Rocket Lab, Space X, Blue Origin, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA), the European Space Agency (ESA), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and Space Force, are lost in the large volume of collective data. The average person does not believe how close we are to colonizing Luna and Mars; how close we are to becoming a multi-planetary species. If you walked up to someone on the street of New York City, today, and told them that in the mid-2040s, and by the latest, the 2050s, there will be hundreds if not thousands of people living in Earth's orbit, the upper atmosphere of Venus, the Moon, and Mars, the person would dismiss you in disbelief. But the same would have happened if you walked up to a person on the street of New York City on the 19th of July 1962 (before Kennedy’s speech) and told them that mankind would step foot on the moon in seven years. Companies like Rocket Lab, which will make orbital flight and transportation affordable, will allow for a new era of civilization, one which was only present and dreamed of in science fiction of the past.
The Earth, as imaged from the Voyager 1 spacecraft, was suspended in a sunbeam, as the interstellar craft exited the Sol system in 1990. Earth is nearly 4 billion miles away in this image. That is us. That is humanity, all of us that have thus far, ever existed. We take to the stars in search of not only answers but in search of a purpose.

2023.06.06 13:19 Old_Prize_2201 High Blood pressure

Hello everyone,
I'm a male, 29 years old , I'm very active, I walk, a lot, lift weights regularly and run almost 2 days a week ( I can run 5k under 20 minutes).
Lately I noticed that my blood pressure is high, whenever I measure it always shows : systolic between 139-140 , and diastolic between 60-80.
Sometimes :
I'm not sure if the symptoms above are related to a serious health conditions or just the stress related to the nature of my job ( it's very stressful ).
Thank you for your help.

2023.06.06 13:18 Ok_Camera_5081 Poll: How long should you spend on TRI-52/JCTI?

I find it hard to understand how people spend multiple hours on it - I did it in 55-65 minutes and the results aligned perfectly with my other scores (avg. 142 across norms).
IMO it should not take longer than completing, e.g., ICAR-60

2023.06.06 13:13 cosmoshistorian A Rocket Lab Due Diligence (DD), it is time we discuss this company seriously.

‘Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering reliable launch services, complete spacecraft design and manufacturing, satellite components, flight software, and on-orbit management.’ – Rocket Labs
The estimated 250,000 square-foot state-of-the-art complex will be constructed on a 28-acre site adjacent to the Wallops Island Flight Facility and will include a Launch Control Center, Rocket Lab’s fifth global operations center for launch activities and on-orbit operations.

Their EPS was $-0.08, indicating a strong maintenance of their business.

Peter Beck, founder, and CEO of Rocket Lab, did an interview last month on his take on the industry and their future prospects.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse Streaming Release
There’s been no official announcement regarding Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse’s streaming release. However, given it’s a Universal film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse will eventually be released on Peacock rather than Netflix, HBO Max, or Disney+.
As for a potential release date, we know the Universal-Peacock deal requires movies to be released on streaming no later than four months after their theatrical debuts. Universal’s past two movies to hit Peacock — Knock at the Cabin and M3GAN — were added to the service 49 days after their debuts. This, theoretically, puts Mario’s streaming release date as early as May 24 and as late as August 5.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse Available On Amazon Prime Video?
Universal Pictures has not yet announced when Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse will be released on streaming platforms. However, it is safe to assume it will be streaming on Prime Video since Amazon now owns Universal pictures, as of 2022. It looks like the movie will be in theaters for around 45 days before it becomes available on Amazon’s Prime Video or any other streaming platform.
We’ll update this space when we have more information about when it’s due to arrive on streaming. Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse is currently screening in the US, the UK and plenty more markets around the world after releasing on Wednesday, April 5.
Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse Be On HBO MAX?
No, Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. The company previously released its movies on the streamer and in theaters on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
While we don’t yet have a confirmed streaming release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse, we can look at other Universal releases in 2023 to get a sense of when it might be available to watch at home.
Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse Be On Netflix?
No, Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse will likely not be on Netflix any time soon, seeing as it will go directly to Disney+ after its theatrical run.
A similar timeline would put the rental release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse in the UK in early May, but it’ll then be another month or two until you can buy and own a copy of the movie.
Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service. While working underground to fix a water main, Brooklyn plumbers Mario and brother Luigi are transported down a mysterious pipe and wander into a magical new world. But when the brothers are separated, Mario embarks on an epic quest to find Luigi. P2 Virtual Selling Accelerator Overview Virtual selling is no longer optional—it’s an absolute necessity. And even if circumstances change, you’ve seen how the ability to sell and close deals virtually can give you the income, lifestyle and retirement you’ve always dreamed of. But as we all know, selling virtually is not the same as selling face to face for a host of reasons. Often the prospects you sell virtually haven’t seen you present for 90 minutes at a seminar. They definitely aren’t in the confined quiet of your office…and they are most likely being distracted by whatever is going on at home. Plus you don’t have the rapport of being face to face, or the non-verbal communication so important in selling. That’s why—in just a few days—Ethan and I are hosting a 5-day crash course called Presuppostional Playbook (P2) Virtual Selling ACCLERATOR. Normally, we’d push out the launch of a new program 30-60 days, but for obvious reasons, THIS CANNOT WAIT. If you’re willing to give us 90 minutes for 5 straight days, we’ll give you everything you need to master ALL aspects of the virtual selling process, from that first appointment to getting paid. And yes, this even includes technical training and lead generation. Whether you’ve never made a sale virtually and are terrified by the idea… or you currently sell virtually but want to take your sales to the next level, the P2 Virtual Selling Accelerator gives you the scripts, steps, questions and even presentations we’ve used to sell virtually for the past 10 years…and it accellerates your results because you’ll get it all in just 5 days! 2023.06.06 13:09 iXendeRouS Theoretical best forge setup

2b/week real
Ask questions in comments hopefully yt doesn't find this
No it is not boosting as all acc on same coop. This would be achievable with 7 friends but as sb players we know that isn't possible
Coop

Gear for every account:
Mods:
Method
For each account:
Requires you to wake up early and go to sleep late ish to forge 3 sets per 2 days for good efficiency. One set per day is ok but not optimal
For bal you may need to kill bal with venoms touch bow or find despawned bal and go in and out of khazad dum. Razer abicase helps with getting all forges before bal respawn as forge abiphone is randomized if it picks up
Jungle temple cheese works. Remember to bring cobble cause no cookie on alts
Sapphire requires robot parts for each perfect. Can still be very good profits esp during aatrox sometimes idk
Jade requires divan tools. Occasionally worth grinding for cause noone else wants to. 7m profit per perfect sometimes higher
Can't do ruby or jasper cause can't farm crystals
Opal is stupid
Amber decent. Goblin king stench stays for 20 minutes playtime including swapping lobbies so you can use same stench across multiple days
This method allows for 60 perfects per day
2 - 3m profit per perfect if bad market 4 - 6m profit per if decent - good market 7m+ has been known to occur if funny mayors. Topaz and sapphire biggest offenders.
I've been running my main and 2 alt accs for the last few months making 60m/day (only doing 1 set of perfs per day cause sleep)
Theoretical limit assuming 4m profit per perfect is 240m/day
Use money to upgrade drills when profitable on main cause they only take 30 seconds to forge. Easy + 10m+ profit per day up to 50m/day with good preparation/buy orders/markets
Can squeeze in something fast like a golden plate or gemstone mixture after 3rd set of perfects for even more tryhard profit
Overall 280m/day is somewhat realistic
good funni minion setup 2b/week is not unobtainable.

2023.06.06 12:43 RobCoPKC Quick text guide to beat the secret boss in Chained Echoes

This is supposed to be a short text based guide on how to easily beat the secret boss in Chained Echoes, God King Gaemdriel. When I encountered this boss and got my ass handed to me on the first try, I didn't want to watch a 10 minute youtube video and was looking for something like this. So I hope this might be useful to someone.
Basics:
When the fight starts cast your Agility buffs. I used Quickstep on Sienna, Double Steps on Mikah and Heroic Hymn on Victor. Debuff the Agility of Gaemdriel with Legshot.
Block the first three attacks of Gaemdriel with Blade Reflection.
Next, start debuffing the resistances of Gaemdriel with Efreet's Song, Soul Parasite, Basso Profondo and/or other skills.
If you don't have the Fire Attack (passive) & Water Attack (passive) from the Mage Warrior class emblem, cast Fire & Water Coat with Lenne.
Next, destroy the boss by using Dragonfang on Sienna over and over. If she runs out of TP before the Gaemdriel is dead, you might want to consider Ether Sucker from the Vampire class emblem or Glenn's Lend Energy. With the rest of the party keep debuffing the boss and avoid going into Overdrive.
At some point the boss will become damage immune and prepare a strong magic spell (I think it's called The Will). I used Excorise on Raphael to completely negate the damage but maybe casting Shield Marzuka on Victor is enough. After that finish him off.
Other things to consider:

2023.06.06 12:39 Competitive-Alps871 Next door neighbor eyeing up and down new property markers… Other neighbor guy looks like possibly already concerned…

So we had our property professionally surveyed and stakes put in. There is a 65 y/o lady who lives next door with her half-sister and the half-sister’s husband. The 65 y/o lady owns the house and one of many reasons we had the property surveyed was bc after speaking to her twice about the property line, she continued to encroach with her scalping the lawn almost bald when mowing, letting her dogs and the 20 (?) some dogs that she dog sits on our property, parking a pickup truck a few days between the houses, more than halfway on our property… These little individual things may not seem like anything much to somebody else, but combine, and when it happens to you, it’s another story… The 65 y/o cuts the grass and lied about a ‘lawn dude’ encroaching, despite me seeing her doing it with my own eyes and Ring camera catching her…
Anyway, almost immediately after the surveyor left yesterday, her half-sister was outside, walking along the property line, deliberately looking up and down at the stakes… IDK what her apparent concern (lack of a better word?) is, bc 1, she is not the property owner (the township building confirmed the owner prior), and 2, she is not the one cutting the grass or letting dogs loose or parking vehicles over the property line. I understand possibly she’s in her mind looking out for her half-sister, but really it’s none of her business (again, lack of a better word)… Before anyone jumps me for repeatedly saying ‘half-sister’, that is what the owner always refers to her as, so that’s what I’m referring to her as…
I just don’t understand what her apparent concern is… I know I really should not care, but these people can’t respect boundary rights, and at some point you have enough… Then they act like they are the victims…
Then the guy on the other side of me, I saw him talking to the surveyor, and it looks like they were both pointing at the driveway, which has been a thorn in my side and his side for several years. This house has been in my family for 60+ years. We’ve maintained a driveway ever since. He moved in about 30 years ago. Now, obviously I can’t stay with 100% certainty he was talking to the surveyor about the driveway, but they both clearly were pointing up at the driveway from the back of the yard. I asked the surveyor what the neighbor was talking to him about, but the surveyor would not give me a straight answer and focused on his job task… A concern of ours was that possibly part of our driveway was on the neighbor’s side, despite adverse possession and us maintaining the driveway for 60+ years, that he’s gonna try and fight for a tiny minute useless patch of the edge of the driveway... The surveyor confirmed that roughly 1 foot of the curved part, very minimal amount, really nothing can be done with it, but it was/is on the neighbors property. Again per the attorney, adverse possession comes in to play there. Now if we get the fence, which likely we will bc if this neighbor thinking our entire driveway is his driveway, that tiny 1 foot by maybe 3 feet patch of driveway, basically will be useless to him. His 13 y/o kid would really not be easy to use that one foot of driveway for his bicycle, because he will then have to revert to driving his bicycle on his father‘s own grass/property to get to the road… Plus obviously he would be driving his bicycle literally right up against the fence, lol…
I’m dreading a pushback of some sort from both neighbor sides, and it’s a shame that these people really only have themselves to blame for it to come in to this, but of course they don’t see it that way… Like many people have said, as well as the attorney, if the shoe was on the other foot, you better believe these neighbors would not be tolerating this behavior or being done to them…
So it sucks to know that these neighbors already seem to be possibly going to try to cause some kind of push back… I’m thinking for them to do so, each would have to have their own survey done, but the people who did our survey, are very well-known in the community. Very professional. If one of the neighbors gets Joe Blow or some such person to allegedly survey their property, I don’t think that would stand up in court or whatever…? And if we do get the fence put up, if they try to say it’s over the boundary line, again, I think they would need to have their own survey done…? And again, because we had our survey done by professionals who are known through the community for many years, I don’t think their survey from Joe Blow or whoever would actually hold up… I will be seeing the attorney later this afternoon, so I guess I will ask her how this will play out, should they try to push back… I will say, it’s unfortunate that the police around here literally have said they don’t get involved in neighbor disputes, and even with Ring camera videos for proof of the dogs being loose and in our yard many times, I was told that the police have to see it with her own eyes… It truly is a shame that we can’t let our little 7 pound dog outside, because neighbors on both sides like to let their dogs run loose… And it’s further a shame that the police won’t do anything, and we really don’t have a dogcatcher or anything like that… Even so, by time the police would get here or the dog catcher would get here, the owners would rally the dogs back home, but still, obviously after a big romp in other people’s yards…
It’s going to be a fun summer… (sarcasm)…
