I recently bought a commuter VW Jetta to get me to work and home. Its in great condition so it should last me a few years. This is the car I will mess around with. My question is should I raise it and try to get 2-4" lift along with other offroad mods or just leave as is and just do more motor work and upgrading parts as I go?

I woke up to a bat in my house Tuesday morning. Went Tuesday night to the ER and got the immunoglobulin treatment and first rabies vaccine. I go for the day 3 injection this afternoon. No known contact with the bat.
I discovered these bumps tonight on my hip. Does this look like a bat bite? If by chance it is, will the PEP be effective even though it was not injected around or into the potential bite? Shouldn’t go back to the ER? I’m inclined to believe these are bug bites from cleaning out my pool last night, but I’m nervous.
I will say they are more red/swollen because I scratched them.

I’m really clueless when it comes to cars and I’ve taken my car to a mechanic I’ve not been to before. He’s said it’s a new clutch I need to fix an engine problem I’m having.
I’ve got a 2009 2L VW Golf TDI, and I’ve been having this problem with the engine since October. Basically when I put my foot down I’m not getting as much acceleration as I normally would. And when I bring the speed up to about 75mph I start hearing this weird noise coming from the engine, it’s like the sounds pitch goes up slightly for 1 second and back down for 1 second and repeats until I drop the speed. Then if I take it past 80mph I get a warning light (looks like a coil) and the power drops significantly. The same problem with the warning light and the power dropping can trigger if I rev it too high at lower speeds.
I had it at one garage a while ago who was fixing another problem for me (went over a pothole and damaged the alloy) and asked him to have a look. He said it was the Mass Air Flow sensor but he had my car for 3 weeks to finally tell me the alloy was damaged beyond repair so I didn’t trust him. Now this garage I’ve taken it to has said the clutch is almost gone and that’s what the problem is.
I know clutches are expensive and I’m wondering whether he’s just saying that to get more money from me or if that’s legit what could be causing it? I just don’t know as I said I’m clueless. Any advice would be really appreciated :)

Does it make sense to do the smallest down payment possible if converting to a purchase at some point? I’m also wondering if they let you do the down payment via credit card and if this is a good way to earn some points vs doing a bigger down payment when I get the auto loan for the purchase?

Car - 2018 VW Passat S

1. My car sat idle for one and a half months while I was overseas.
2. So I came back, car wouldn't start, I tried to jump-start it with my dad's car, but still did not start.
3. Had my neighbor's car hooked up on top of my dad's car, and this time the engine turned on.
4. Drove it around for a good 6 to 7 hours over the next few days, and everything was good. Started fine, drove fine and all.
5. But after not using it for 2 days on my driveway, the car won't start again.
6. This time, thinking it must be the old battery issue, and rather than jumping it, I decided to replace it.
7. Today I got the new battery - ACDelco Gold 48AGM but car still won't turn on.
8. I cannot hear the engine crank or clicking sound. Warnings do flash...

Question - What is the most likely culprit? Bad alternator? Crankshaft sensor?
Given that the car drove fine initially after being jumped, I think it's less likely a starter or fuel pressure issue...? Any suggestion or advice will be appreciated!

Hi All, I posted this on the Samba but wanted to put it up here as well.
TLDR: Oil keeps leaking from the oil input hose at my full flow oil filter setup despite the fitting being very tight and having two hose clamps present.
I just put a 1914cc in my 1970 Beetle Sedan. I put in a full flow oil setup with a remote filter up under the driver's side fender. Toward the end of breaking in the cam, I noticed a big oil puddle and a smaller one nearby. Turns out it was leaking from the fitting where the oil leaves the pump just a little bit and was leaking a lot up at the fitting where the oil enters the filter.
I tightened down the fittings a bit better and tightened the hose clamps as well. However, the next time I ran it, when it got warm there was oil again.
Today, I put an extra clamp on both of those spots and the one at the pump stopped leaking, but the one at the filter is still leaking! It's down to just a slow steady drip but it's pissing me off.
Any advice or experience with this? Things to check? Do I need to get special clamps for this, or use come kind of sealant? I was hesitant to use any kind of sealant as I've read many a discouraging post about it saying stuff can find it's way into the oil system and clog things up.

I kind of want to write up this big long formal analysis but nobody has time for that so I'm going to very briefly speak of what I'm kind of left with having finished the DLC today.
I'm kind of frustrated with the story because of how good it can be: The characters are compelling and entertaining, the plot is coherent and well thought-out, and when the game is firing on all cylinders, the experience is breathtaking. The problem is that this only really happens once: The first trip to Vermilion Wasteland. Outside of that, the plot has some very strange pacing decisions and very limited impact on the game play.
Take, for instance, Shizuka. We're introduced to her at the very start of the game, and she's left a mystery for half. This is good! It works well! If you buy into the red herrings the game's story is setting up, her arrival in your cell in Vermilion is a massive wham moment! And even if you've figured out you're some kind of AI clone by that point - like I had - the new mystery of Lea's history and involvement with this place is compelling enough on its own. So, after leaving VW and returning to the Playground, I was eagerly awaiting our next encounter. How would she react? The hide out comes much later than I'd like, but it does not disappoint... at first.
To be clear: Shizuka's arc is coherent. It makes logical sense. She's misplacing her anger because she literally can't defy Sidwell, so of course she's going to take it out on the mute digital clone of herself that he's weirdly infatuated with. It also makes sense for her to eventually realize she's doing this, and reconcile with Lea.
But one fight and they're cool? Really?
There was so much slack in the pacing prior to that point. Wouldn't it have been cool to see her before that point? Draw out that conclusion? Maybe Sidwell's tasked her to retrieve Lea, so you have to duel her a few times like Apollo. Heck, wouldn't it add some neat moments if Emilie suddenly sees this weird woman who looks like Lea and starts wondering if there's more to Lea's extended absence than she's letting on? And don't tell me she can't be on the Playground: You could easily remove that detail from the story to allow it.
Like, this is what I'm getting at in regards to the larger pacing: It's so start-and-stop when it really doesn't have to be. Not just in this specific example, but this is the first that comes to mind. Something else that comes to mind is how abrupt both endings are. I thought there was one more chapter in the DLC than there actually turned out to be, for instance, but nope! That was the end! Sure, there was an epilogue, but it felt weird.
I dunno, am I crazy for getting a little hung up on this? It's a minor nitpick in the grand scheme of things - I really enjoyed the game overall - but it's stuck with me.

I'm trading my GT line Stinger in. I've had it 3.5 years and put a whopping 12k miles on it. I was promoted to a new position that requires significant travel (for me anyway). I was looking at the CTR but the 4 seat thing killed it...and I need a highway car so the mpg sucked. Then the Civic SI (which is selling for 36k locally with markups). Someone pointed me at the Integra.
I am 99% sure I'm buying an A spec with tech package tomorrow for 36,500. Talk me out of it...I want to make the right decision.

I want a manual transmission sedan that's sporty and fun, moddable eventually. Need seating for 5 (take my 4 kids to school or pick them up from school at least 3 times a week). High mpg with good tech options and luxury. My budget is up to 50k (I'd prefer 40k) right now and I plan to pay cash. I don't race or drive like an idiot but I'm still worried about going from a 4.7s to 7s+ 0-60 but there's nothing else anywhere near that with my budget.

I considered the Elantra N but the markups are also high and the interior sucks. Also the GLI but VW reliability for high mileage is very hit or miss.

Hello everyone,
My car shudders or lightly jerks when I accelerate aggressively in 3rd and 4th gear. No malfunction lights show up on the dash. I haven't heard or felt anything that lets me believe it's an engine misfire. The spark plugs were replaced 50k kms ago. I've never had any issues with the engine. Last oil change was 4k kms ago. When the shudder happens, the rpms stay where they were. I have no issues when switching gears.
Any ideas? any help is appreciated, thanks.

I've been putting a lot of miles on my car lately. I usually do my tire rotation by myself. However, because I've been putting so many miles on I decided to use my local tire place that I bought my tires from originally. They don't charge since I bought my tires with them.
When I do a tire rotation after a few miles my low pressure light comes on. Since I have an aftermarket radio I have to hook up a vagcom - computer reader (2015 VW Golf) and reset the light. No matter when I do it the light comes on. The tire place literally took maybe 10 minutes (if that) to do my car. What trick do they do to make the light not come on? Thanks.

Hello! So im trying to make a magic mirror here in the next few days, however Im also wanting Deluge, Plex, and Samba share to be run on it, I have a Pi 4B, everything works great so far but Deluge, its starts up, but whenever I go to add a download, it just doesnt start its also showing an external IP of N/A was wondering if anyone had any fixes to try, ive tried changing the port, and changing it back, no luck, as well as just rebooting the device, any help is appreciated.

Previous cars have been Subaru Outback, Honda CRV and Toyota Camry. I’d like to stick to Japanese or European cars (so +Mazda, VW). I need 4/All wheel drive, snow safe, able to carry a decent amount, reliable and ideally not super $$$ to repair. Current car is a 2011 CRV that has an expensive repair so I’m biting the bullet. I regularly drive 500 miles a month and do longer trips quarterly. I am hybrid curious. I’d probably put 20k down and finance the rest (ideally sub 40k). Something I can drive into the ground and is safe. Something that was produced between 2021 and now. I can wait as I have another daily driver so if waiting until October would make sense I’m down. I’ve never had to buy a car without my dads input so also any tips or tricks would be appreciated. Thanks!

So Greenman Acres is one of the original produces from the first year of legalization. They came out with Mother of Berries branches and top cola flower art tins that were numbered to 1000. We got tin #1😀… It was pretty cool and the bud was a nice outdoor grown fluffy beauty.
This is also nice fluffy buds, super moist with a freaky terpene profile with pinene, bisabolol, myrcene and caryophylene. So you see what I mean - this is some of the loco weed that we love so much. The buds were small - but mighty! Don’t let that deceive you into thinking they were crappy buds -> woo. They are some potent.
It had this freaky floral smell that was moist sweet with a sugar frosting and a heavy woodsy exhale. Yeah - if you can imagine that then cram a mango in the middle of it and you have this ones terp profile.
Like I said - it’s freaky. And under $30!! And organic. Wtf?! It had to be terrible stuff at that price - Nope! This is just delicious. Yeah - again 14g or 7g bags please for craft. 3.5g is a taste and at this price point people will pay the extra for a bigger bag.
Great product and I can’t wait to open up the Grand Daddy Purple and see what it’s like.

Rear ended about two months ago. Minor metal work long since repaired, but don’t have the car back yet due to two bumper plastic pieces being back ordered and seemingly impossible to find. VW customer care says they can’t help at all with parts and tells me to contact the dealership. The body shop is dealership affiliated and they simply can’t find the parts. Bit of a catch 22.
Any tips or tricks from those who’ve had similar issues? Is there any recourse? I’ve tried hounding dealerships outside my metro area, but whenever I locate someone with the parts they’re unwilling to give them up, understandably.
I understand parts are hard to come by generally for a variety of reasons, and also know some of you have been separated from your ID4s for way longer than 2 months, so I should probably quit my blubbering. That said, any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
