Have the day off tomorrow and thought a ride out to Sugarpine and a little beach day would be a nice way to beat the heat. Planning on riding from Mt. Tabor area out and back, but unsure of the most convenient route as I haven’t ridden through Troutdale/Fairview/Gresham much. Looks like Stark out to Dabney/Historic Columbia Highway would be a pretty straight shot, but wondering if there is a better way. Any advice is welcome! FWIW, 26” x 2.2”, so very much open to any off-road stretches.

Hi all! This is my first review as I've dived into this addicting world of indie fragrance. I hope you find it helpful - CCW too! I'll be rating it on a scale of 1-5; 1, I'll destash and 5 is a definite full-size purchase. I literally just received these samples yesterday so I can't quite speak to the longevity yet except for one that I am wearing today. I'll try each one for all-day wear but I was too excited to post my review.
A little bit about me: I'm always on the hunt for the perfect smell-like-a-rose scent. You know how in romance novels the main heroine is described with "a trace of roses follows as she walks by" or something ridiculously romantic like that? That's what I aspire to. But I also want to be the witch in the story - dark and sultry and mysterious and probably a badass. Think of patchouli and incense - I love that stuff. A little sweet, a little spicy. I'm not crazy about too sharp scents or on the flip side, powdery dusty scents. I want to feel transported or transformed when I wear perfume.
Isabella - Notes of rose are combined with a light resin, white tea leaf, and a rare honey/milky-musk. I purchased this sample because I saw a high review of it from u/Zaltara_the_Red in her rose spreadsheet. Do you want to smell like a lovely little cabbage patch doll? Then this perfume is it for you. It's creamy and sweet first, then rosey. It's really delicate and soft. It's the perfume I decided to wear today for longevity. It's faded into something even softer but still there. Like skimming a rose across your nose, setting it down, and taking a sip of tea. It slightly reminds me of Rose Jam by lush but without the sticky sweetness of Rose Jam. It's very feminine, not overpowering with roses (I could probably actually use a little more rose). I love it. 5/5 will full-size this.
Beatrice - Skin musk, 2 white musks, "Crystalline" musk, and grey musk. In the bottle and wet on the skin, it reminds me of a day at the beach. The smell of freshly applied sunscreen with a hint of shea butter. (I'm still learning these notes but I'm guessing it's the white musk.) It faded into something a little more mature. I think this perfume could have used a kick of spice, but it is pleasing to smell. Golden and soft. 3/5 I think if you love beachy smells without the coconut, you'll enjoy this one.
Dance with Me - A superb coumarin-laced lavender combines with fizzy pink grapefruit, and it all rests on a bed of white musk. SO MUCH GRAPEFRUIT. Do you remember that Grapefruit perfume by Bath and Body Works? This is it right off the top. Fun fact, I used to wear that B&BW scent in my early 20s and it was like a man-magnet. I'll try Dance with Me one day to see if it has the same effect in my 30s now ha ha. I did not get any lavender or coumarin, and to be honest, I had to Google coumarin ("freshly mown hay"). I'll be interested to see if any other notes come through more as it lasts on my skin. It seemed to fade quickly. I liked it, not sure if I'd wear it as a signature scent though now. 2/5 mostly because I think I've outgrown it but maybe I'll boost my rating after a full-day wear.
Lavender Corset - Lilac, musk, versatile, feminine, clean, sophisticated, long lasting, cooling, summer scent. Guys, this was pretty close to that romance novel scent I'm chasing. I felt like I smelled like a garden. Side note: I love lilacs. For three years, I have tried planting lilacs in my yard but they die each time so if you have any gardening tips, throw them at me. Back to it - I have tried Just Lilacs scents before, and the lilac is strong in this one (iykyk). Lilac is at the forefront of this perfume and then it is followed by light musk. It is indeed clean and feminine. Con: it is a sharp scent. It faded into something a little softer, but it had me wondering "Do I like this? Is it still too sharp?" so it will require more testing. You would really have to be a fan of floral, feminine scents. It was not powdery, which is a plus in my book. 3.5/5 maybe a 4 depending on all-day wear.
Queen of the Night - A deeply perfumy blend with a deeply foody core. If your goal is to smell like a kitchen witch, try it. It is very perfumy. Toffee syrup, a little nutty. It's like eating pancakes smothered in syrup on a crisp September morning. This is a really nice fall scent IMO. It's really warm and cozy and feels a little bit like I'm being enveloped by a cozy cottage kitchen witch. Unfortunately, this is not the kind of witch I'm vibing to be. 1.5/5.
My Love Like is a Red, Red Rose - A very comforting, sweet, and almost sugared rose--not sharp at all. Floral. As I said before, this is one of my "maybe this is ~the rose~ scent that becomes my signature." Alas, it will not be. It is sweet. The rose note is stronger than Isabella. Although at the cost of it not being sharp, the softness is powder as opposed to cream/sugar. Kinda dusty. Mature. Meh. 1/5.
Amethyst - A sharp amber to start combines with a smoother and more caramel-like amber and a great shot of lavender on top of it all. This was one of the freebies sent to me. As it described, it's a sharp amber. Kind of like a punch in the face at first. Then the caramel comes out to smooth out the sharpness. Unfortunately for me, the lavender seems like a weak shot. It's somewhere hanging in the back but I have to search through the amber. It is very amber-heavy. It gets softer as it lingers on my skin, but I guess I learned I really don't enjoy amber. 1/5
Arrival of the Queen of Sheba - Mysore sandalwood, suede, frankincense, patchouli, 4 vanillas. This was the second freebie. I was honestly so surprised by this one, in a good way. So another fun fact about me is that I ride horses. Western. Barrel-racing. And smelling this perfume, I was the Queen of Sheba arriving in the middle of a Western movie scene. The suede is a twang that is calmed by sandalwood, patchouli, and vanilla. The vanilla is a strong backdrop of the perfume. It fades and the suede comes through. Like the leather of a saddle. Surprisingly, and because I wouldn't say vanilla is my vibe, I liked it. I would try this for a day to see how it lasts. 4/5
And that, my friends, is my first review! I'm still learning so I hope it was helpful. I have a larger sample order of BPAL arriving soon so I'll post my review of those too. I also have one lone order from DeathandFloral (Rose Seltzer) that I'll throw in a review of with the BPAL.

I bought this shirt at the Myrtle Beach show which I think was December 2004. Would have been the tour for S/T. It's nearly in perfect condition, but two sizes too small for my fat ass now. My son now gets to rock a rare early 2000's Deftones shirt courtesy of my fatness. I can't find this design for sale on ebay.

Anyone can apply to annex their land into Qarsherskiy's overseas territories and appoint a leader. The Islamic Sultanate of Qarsherskiy has 1,947 citizens, most of whom applied for citizenship online and were trustworthy enough to get it accepted. Qarsherskiy has a few problems though and isn't all perfect. A few problems include:
-Qarsherskiy isn't recognized by any country and the Qarsherskiy Passport is useless because of this
-Qarsherskiy had to fight a group of neo-Nazis but the USA would've invaded and shut Qarsherskiy down so they could only use water balloons and nerf guns, which are harmless, and it took 2 months for Qarsherskiy to win
-Alawite separatist movements with plans to overthrow the sultan exist, and you've probably seen the alawite separatists on Tiktok working with Atheists and Christians to make videos doing shirk and worshipping Ali, Kanye West, Bashar Al Assad, and Isa (PBUH).
-Qarsherskiy's sultan is 17 and a Muslim convert, and it has been hard for him to study the deen as Shi'a and Sunni Muslims constantly argued and tried to get him to side up with one or the other, creating confusion in him, despite being a Sunni
-The Ahmadiyya/Qadiani community in Qarsherskiy is trying to destroy the country because they are labelled as kafirs by every based Qarsherskiyan.
-Qarsherskiy's internet prominence has shrunken by 48% and few people support or even know about Qarsherskiy
-Despite defeating the neo-Nazis, Qarsherskiy still deals with "lone-wolf" neo-Nazi attacks on their trade routes that connect Qarsherskiy to the USA and Canadian global market economies
-Qarsherskiy's Autonomous overseas province of IslamOhio Beach on the coast of Lake Erie between Vermilion and Lorain, Ohio has been under surveillance by the police due to suspected smuggling allegations as locals exported Opium poppies across Lake Erie to Canada. (It also has a problem with a struggle to fairly elect a new local leader but that's being worked on.)

Hey all! So, I have recently started a new job. They do offer insurance, but it’s a little on the… stupidly, offensively expensive side. I’m not married and don’t have any children, so I’m okay riding out the uninsured train for now.
The only issue is, I have crippling undiagnosed ADHD. My mom has been diagnosed and it’s incredibly obvious that this is what I’m suffering from, an opinion shared by my GP, so no worries there - it’s not a secret underlying issue! Once my (stupidly, offensively expensive) lease is up, I plan on pursuing diagnosis and stimulant medication.
The thing is, I’m looking for ways to treat myself at home until that time comes. Whether it’s an insane amount of caffeine, long walks on the beach at dusk, or other similar ideas, what do you all do to focus/manage ADHD without the use of medication? Let me know! :)

misc: - 3 ziplocks in case my parents or grandparents buy my food i gotta bring home and i repackaged some stuff into those bags and it saved me so much space. - toiletries - i decant my bigger toiletries into the small travel-sized ones i bought from hs or other containers. i haven't bought travel toiletries in years. - emotional support water flask. i have anxiety about getting dehydrated or having a heat stroke in the summer. airports also have expensive ass water bottles. - metal cutlery set. i bought this 5 years ago in university and they've always come in handy.

what i didn't need/use: - a bathing suit but would still bring it next time since i can use it as undies if i need to. wouldn't mind looking for more a comfortable pair of bathing suits that genuienly work well as undies or vice versa. - a fourth pair of socks and 3-4 undies. i get nervous to run out of intimates when i travel so i re-wear slightly worn socks and shirts. i can't skimp on underwear. i'm a juicy lady. i always do x amount of days x 2 +1 - yoga/beach/multipurpose towel. would still bring next time in case there are any last-minute beach plans, yoga classes, or if i had time to work out. it packs tiny so it barely takes any room. i like it way more than microfiber towels. im a bit of a germaphobe and get really quickly icked out of using the hotel towels. idk, maybe something to talk about in therapy. - sports bra. didn't workout, would still bring it again though. looking for a cute and comfy low-impact sports bra that i can use for as a bathing suit too. also, what is everyone's travel workouts? - second black crop top. would still bring again since it goes with everything and is super light fabric. since i was able to borrow a shirt from my cousin, that was my designated "breakfast shirt" - another pair of shorts. i haven't really found the unicorn pair of shorts for me. my jorts are versatile and i can fold the hem up for a more feminine outfit but they're less comfortable than my linen shorts. this is probably why i only wore them once the entire trip. but then my linen pair of shorts ride up because of my juicy thighs and the garter isn't tight enough so if i have a phone in my pocket, it sags on one side. i also have that problem with pants. please recommend some in the comments. - my nike pros. would always bring. i can use it for anti-chub rub, under dresses, sleep shorts, working out, etc. - just-in-case toiletries. i don't think i even touched half the stuff i brought. i was just trying out this new toiletry bag i saw in my mom's house. again, borrowed without permission. i realize i overpack in toiletries.
What I wish I brought: - a flowy pair of pants. this goes with my previous paragraph. i hate denim jeans but linen rides up. i ended up borrowing one from my sister. i haven't really found my unicorn pants, but the one i borrowed were pretty close. - a "breakfast shirt" that i can wear for breakfast without a bra on. i dont like wearing outside clothes to bed. sleep clothes stay on the bed and will never leave the hotel room for me. again, im a bit of a germaphobe. it also why i bring sleep pants and not shorts when i sleep somewhere new. - maybe a casual shaket but i didn't really need it for this length of a trip. borrowed my mom's at one point because the mall and parts of the airport were cold. i also borrowed a short sleeve button-up from my sister on the plane. top 5 items: - MVP: extension chord - my has 3 USB outlets and 3 prong versatile outlets. my entire family (5 of us in total) didn't have any charging problems. - i-went-on-a-gap-year sleep pants. wore them 3 nights, then wore them on the plane back. it kept me covered but i didn't overheat. had pockets!! - h&m bralette. kinda gave of that human-type of kind of stink after 4 days but it's so comfy all day. - kindle. visiting people, air travel, hotel recharging --there's a lot of waiting and it helped me stay off my phone. - my backpack! wonderful thing. my family was surprised at how much i was able to pack to make it 10kg on the way back. it still fit under the plane seat. thanks to this community for recommending it for short girls like me.
overall review & insights: - as usual i overpacked with undies and socks, no regrets at all. if i had a washing machine i can use my packing list for a whole week in southeast asia. i really like my regular wardrobe in general so i really didn't mind still lugging any of the items i didn't use. with a couple more pieces i can probably do a month with just my 25L backpack. around 90% of my closet is either thrifted or borrowed without consent from my older sister. 😇 so borrowing clothes with travel buddies is also an option when you eventually get a bit bored of your clothes. shorter trips are a good way to check up on a capsule wardrobe if you do use one. since my front lobe fully developed, i've become extremely discerning with all the new items and clothing i acquire. - since i was traveling with family, i actually ended up with a 10kg backpack and our family had to check a bag, despite being a carry-on only family. ah yes, gotta love gift-giving during family reunions.
