My husband and I will be out of the country for two weeks and are disagreeing on what the best option for our cat is while we are gone. Info/background: She has a water fountain and an automatic feeder with a camera, as well as two litter boxes and we will add at least a third box for when we are gone. We close off our attic and the one bedroom with our plants in it but she otherwise has access to the rest of the house. We adopted our cat about 2.5 years ago and she is 7 and healthy. I work from home so our cat is my shadow most days and very clingy, she is also pretty playful and really only likes my husband and me. When we go away on long weekends and have friends check on her, she is normally skeptical of them and will come watch them from a distance but if they try to pet her she hisses at them.
Option 1: We would have friends come by once a day to scoop her litter boxes and try to play and put a couple treats in her puzzle mat. My parents said they could come stay at our house for a night or two in the middle of the trip to keep her more company, our cat does like my parents but they are not pet people. She has met each of the friends that would be coming by and is okay with some of them, but the visits would mostly be shorter stops to clean her litter boxes. I do have at least one friend that will play with her for probably an hour and can come by a couple times.
Option 2: My parents live 2.5 hours away and they said they could watch our cat at their house but she has never been to their house and my dad is allergic to cats. It makes me nervous for her to have such little interaction with people for two weeks but I also know she won’t like being at my parents.
What option would you choose? Is there anything else we could do to make her time less lonely?

So, I’ve only been working at this place for like.. maybe two weeks now, there’s no back of house or front of house- you kinda just get trained on all of it. No issues there, though, the manager is chill and really understanding with stuff but what I really have a problem with is these fucking customers. Most of them are great, the typical ones that don’t wanna talk to us are still better than the ones that get irritated.

Would you like me to do that now so you can take two home?” Also keep in mind everyone in the lobby was now staring at him, because they were all waiting on the exact item he was trying to weasel out of us. Fuck people.
My first unhappy customer experience was this dude who came in during a severe thunderstorm warning in the area, sky is turning black and shit and he walks in with obvious meth mouth, asks what we have hot and ready, gets pissed off and says loudly “I’m paying premium price just for a goddamn pizza”. Oh but wait, there’s more! He took the extra pepperoni (because that’s all we had ready) and then came back and yelled at me because “how am I supposed to eat this thick of crust with no fucking teeth?! Look at this shit!” And I just let him go off and nodded, apologized for like five minutes until my manager came out, made him a thin crust, didn’t charge him for it, and sent him on his way.
I fucking hate people.
Other people will like, come in at the end of the night or come in when it’s really packed to make a 5+ pizza order and wonder why I can’t hear them correctly, like dude I’m either exhausted or I can’t hear you over the little kid screaming right behind you. Or the people that come in at the end of the night and are like “why don’t you have any pizzas hot and ready?” Because the stoner that just came in grabbed our last hot and readys. Or people come in when it’s super busy and get pissed off when they’re the last to be served in a rush when they wanted a custom pizza with like a blood sacrifice and obviously all the pepperoni and cheeses and single toppings are served first while they’re waiting on a pepperoni to go with their five ultimate supremes with light sauce and extra cheese. Y’all stop doing this shit please, I get it you want cheap pizza but we get paid $9 an hour to drown because of your order during a rush.

Anyone from SoCal here that uses Apple Maps as their navigation? I got a thumbs down and a report that the customer didn’t receive their order, which initially pissed me off because I’ve been doing delivery apps since 2017 and know what I’m doing. I assumed the customer just wanted free food. About a week later when I was rushing through an order, I did a shop and pay for just a bouquet of flowers, snapped my pic and started driving away when the customer called me. He’s like “that’s not my house in the pic.” I’m like, “seriously? Let me go back and fix it.” Looked at Apple Maps and it was the correct address it gave me when I clicked “navigate” from the Uber app, but the Uber app had a different address. 🤦🏻♀️ I fixed that order, then paid close attention. This happens more often than not with Uber and it doesn’t happen with any of the other delivery apps I use that I’ve set Apple Maps as my default navigation. I initially changed to Apple Maps because I hated the in app Uber navigation. Is this happening to anyone else?

Attic setup: Pros - out of the way. No hole in celling. Don't have to wire an outlet in the closet. Frees up closet. I can get a loud switch. Cons - hot (ga summers), not sure if I can find a poe rated switch for the heat, buy a small encloser, dust,
Closet setup: Pros - cooled. Longer lasting. Cons - more labor, holes in ceiling, wire an outlet, takes up closet space. Noise factor. Have to get a quiet switch
I think the attic would be the ideal choice but it's SO HOT. During the summer. Not sure an easy way to combat that. I already have an outlet in the attic so wiring should not be an issue.

My school is a 1 hour drive away from my house, 52 miles. Not in commute traffic. I just bought a little commuter car in full recently also. Should I take out the extra $25k + interest for COL? I cant commute all 3 years, but I think I’m willing to as I get used to the work load and accustomed to a new routine for this first year. Not ideal, but this apartment search has been stressful and this option would just save me so much money overall. But is it doable? Will I be miserable driving to/from class? Any advice or opinions from experience would be appreciated!

Hello everyone, today I have a few beloved pens for sale. They have been lovingly cared for, the major reason for selling these is that I don’t use wider nibs. Hopefully someone can give these pens a better home than I could. Please check the photos for visual description and feel free to ask for more photos.
Parker Vacumatic 2nd Quarter 1946 Canada B-C condition, 100€ OBO

I don’t know the history of this pen at all, and I have not gotten it restored it during the two years I’ve owned it. The nib is pretty wide, I want to say a wet B or so, even though I was told it was an M. Clear celluloid, it’s easy to see the ink level. The filling mechanism works. I couldn’t see anything beyond the regular micro scratches from age, especially around the cap area, so I’ll mark it as a B-C condition just to be sure.
Parker 21 Super (or 51, nobody is sure) [C] 40€ OBO

This is an odd pen. I picked it up at an antique store a while ago and inked it up only once. The converter is stained bright blue and nobody I asked can agree on whether this is a 51 with a 21 cap or an 21 Super. Some scratches and dings, I tried to photograph the most major scratches. The nib is pretty wet if I remember correctly, if asked I can try a dipped writing sample.

Ah, first love. Aurora 88 is always going to be my favourite pen. There isn’t a single scratch that I can see on the body, but there is a one on the cap. I tried to take a few photos of it to show it as much as possible, because due to the mirror shine of the dome of the cap, it’s almost impossible to see unless you’re looking for it. The body is otherwise a very conservative B, simply because it has seen ink. The M nib is beautifully juicy and a little bouncy, as this is the older version with longer tines. No staining on the ink window to my eye. It’s extremely sad for me to let this pen go, but the gold cap attracts too much attention and the M nib is too broad for my daily writing.

This pen is simply too heavy for me, even though the pen is beautiful. Great shape, amazing colour. The only problem it has is that I dropped it while trying to photograph it a while ago, so it has a few dings. I tried to photograph them to the best of my ability. Otherwise, not a scratch on the body. I can add in a few Lamy cartridges if asked.

Ah, first love. Aurora 88 is always going to be my favourite pen. There isn’t a single scratch that I can see on the body, but there is a one on the cap. I tried to take a few photos of it to show it as much as possible, because due to the mirror shine of the dome of the cap, it’s almost impossible to see unless you’re looking for it. The body is otherwise a very conservative B, simply because it has seen ink. The M nib is beautifully juicy and a little bouncy, as this is the older version with longer tines. No staining on the ink window to my eye. It’s extremely sad for me to let this pen go, but the gold cap attracts too much attention and the M nib is too broad for my daily writing.

This pen is simply too heavy for me, even though the pen is beautiful. Great shape, amazing colour. The only problem it has is that I dropped it while trying to photograph it a while ago, so it has a few dings. I tried to photograph them to the best of my ability. Otherwise, not a scratch on the body. I can add in a few Lamy cartridges if asked.

First off, I won't recommend big or famous games like Final Fantasy or Persona, this is more for lesser know, hidden gems, or just games where it's hard to find someone talking about them.

This one is really hard to explain through words alone, but just in case, the VC series is a World War 2 military setting story, where you act as the lead of a squad and take mission to drive back the enemy. The story is drama heavy and the gameplay is tactical turn-based, but it's mixed with real-time third person shooter.You can also make your own army by recruiting different types of solders, training them and upgrading their gear. From rifles to tanks, this is a game you have to experience to understand.
[Wild Arms 1 & 2]
Great classics, and are now sold for dirt cheap, though even their full price is also a steal. If you're looking for great stories, and really interesting characters, combined with truly great puzzles, then don't miss on these 2 games. They started an entire series, and are classics for a reason.[Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition]
2 full games in 1. If you're a fan of the series then this is a must play, it dives into the lore more than a lot of the previous games, and also has one of the biggest Digimon rosters till to day.Even if you're not into the Digimon series, if you're looking for your next fix of Capture/Evolve/Fusion -> Grind -> Capture/Evolve/Fusion -> Grind while you listen to your favorite podcast/music, then no need to wait anymore, with hours upon hours you can easily spend just grinding and completing the game's various content from side-quests, rare monsters, arena, and even tamer team fights. The gameplay is simple, which is a great way to keep your brain off, yet it still has challenge battles now and then to make sure you're doing your job grinding and raising your Digimons.
[ASTLIBRA Revision]
If you are still itching for side-scroller action JRPGs with a good loot system and a good story and world that you can sink your teeth into, then look no further. A game that was 14 years in development and an extra year to work on this remastered version, was more than worth it. The action is meaty and satisfying, the loot is great with each item having the potential of changing your fighting style, and just so much content to explore and have fun with.Then you add to that fantastic art work by Shigatake of Vanillaware, he worked on games like Odin Sphere, GrimGrimoire, Muramasa: The Demon Blade and others. Then you finally throw in a huge amazing soundtrack, and when I say huge I mean HUGE. With all of that together you have a really great title that any action JRPG fan shouldn't miss.
[Atelier Ryza]
Ryza can be considered a big turning point for the series, mainly because it threw out a lot of old gameplay and story elements that were trademarks of the Atelier series. For starters, the entire sub-series is about Ryza and her friends, instead of the usual way where each title in the sub-series had a different main character. Then as you have noticed, it doesn't use time limits, nor does it have multiple endings. Then add the fact that the battle system switched from turn-based like it was in the entire series until now, to now being Active Time Battle system. Finally, while the Alchemy mechanics always changed between sub-series and games, Ryza has the biggest change in crafting mechanics since Atelier Shallie.All of these changes, plus being a game with almost no fan-service and the one with good graphics, animations, and so many new different methods being added in how you gather resources, makes it a great starting point for someone who wants to dip their toe into the series and be see if it's something they might like.
[Utawarerumono] series
This fantastic visual novel style tactical game is one hell of a ride from start to end. If you're looking for a fantasy JRPG with amazing world building and an epic of story that expands three whole games, there is no reason to not get this whole series. Drama, Comedy, Mystery, Action, Horror, Fan-service, Betrayal, Revenge, Adventure, etc... This is the whole package here when it comes to story, world, and characters. Just don't expect it to be heavy on gameplay and combat.Prelude to the Fallen is the first game story-wise, the 2nd game is Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception and after that is Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth.

Don't even think too long about it, a fantastic game and a great port too, so much you play it easily with mouse and keyboard or controller.The characters are fun and lovable, the story is interesting, and most of all, the loop is very varied and enjoyable. So much to do:

- Monster Collection and Raising
- Dating and Marriage
- Dungeon Crawling
- Blacksmithing and a deep weapon upgrading system
- Fishing
- Festivals
- Town Management
- House decorating
- Resource gathering
- Monster Mounts
- Mastering different weapon styles

Do you want a game where you can cook horrible burnt food, then take said food and use it as a weapon to beat bosses, and even have said bosses then till your farm and water your crops while you're out riding cows and fighting giant chickens the same time you're on date with your favorite NPC ? Then yea, RF4 got you covered. The only thing you'll miss, is sleep while playing this gem.

in 2017, I sold a legally owned gun. the sale was done legally and in accordance with all applicable laws. fast forward to today (June of 2023), 6 years later, I receive this letter saying the gun was seized by the DEA in September of 2021 and that I have 35 days to file a petition. I assume that in the year and a half since they initially seized the gun, they probably investigated me and found no criminal action on my part (this letter is the first only contact I've had with the DEA or any law enforcement). if I don't want or need the gun back, do I need to do anything? should I notify them that I have no intention of filing a petition for a return of the gun? or should I just ignore the letter? thanks for any helpful response.

A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface.
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.

A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.
On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.
Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface.
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.
What's the plan?

What can you do as a user?
- Complain. Message the mods of reddit , who are the admins of the site: message reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.
- Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join the coordinated mod effort at ModCoord also Save3rdPartyApps
- Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!
- Don't be a dick. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.

This article has the video. This is very for common in Corporate India. You will find such behaviour common everywhere, in Banking, Insurance, Healthcare (hospitals), and education.
What is most concerning is such a situation in Banks and Hospitals, if employees are pressured then they will sell bad financial products to customers, the 2008 financial crisis happened because of sales people being pressured to push shaddy loans on to unsuspecting people, this led to loan defaults, which in turn led to a real estate crisis.
It also leads to questions such as:
1) Will the bank be still profitable if such loans aren't pushed ?
2) If the question to the above is No. Then the situation of our economy is grim.

I am the eldest daughter of six siblings. I have an older brother. When our dad passed when I was 15, my mother dumped myself and my four younger siblings at our grandmother's(dad side) house and left with my brother. She cut all contact with us. Since my grandmother is old, I had to give up on school and work multiple jobs to keep us all alive. My younger siblings were all smart and got scholarships, so I only needed to earn money for our daily expenses.
For years, we didn't hear anything from our brother or our mom. Fast forward to 10 years later, I managed to get a proper job despite having no degree, and have been promoted to a supervisor. I was making enough money to get us by without struggling. Out of nowhere, my mom reaches out on Facebook and she says she found me through common friends who were relatives. She says she's "coming home".
It turns out, she left us years ago because she knew she couldn't afford to support all of us and she made the difficult decision to choose to support our older brother because he was the man of the house. Unfortunately, my older brother got married straight out of college and told her he couldn't afford to support mom now that he has his own family.
Despite everything, I take her into my house where I live with my four other siblings. Our grandmother had passed by then. It got very toxic very quick because she expected that I would hand over the management of the household expenses to her now that she's back. (Meaning I give her my salary and let her manage it.) I refused and this resulted in her throwing a long-term tantrum of nitpicking everything in the house and telling me every day that I did a terrible job of raising my younger siblings.
There was constant fighting between her and us on a daily basis. Worse, she started taking our stuff and selling them. Including my sister's laptop which was just loaned to her by a nice professor. It came to the point that I would sleep in the office and my siblings would sleep in dorms or their friend's place just to not to have to come home.
After a few years of this, our older brother comes in and saves the day. He is pretty well off now. Our mom had been crying to him for years about how horribly she is treated in our home and he will now be taking her back. Yey!
Fast forward to now. My brother experienced being locked down with our mom and their relationship has been strained to say the least. His wife and daughters hate our mom and has put their foot down. They want her out. As for myself, I have also gotten married and have two children of my own. My brother wants me to take our mom back as it is my duty as the eldest daughter.
I refused. I will not expose my children to her toxicity. I told him I will pitch in so he can get her an apartment. He says it's unacceptable for our elderly mother to be living on her own or with a (caregiver). This has been long so, AITA?

I’m doing a solo trip to Taiwan in October and I found out that Taiwan pride will be happening during my visit. For those that have been before, what are the best things to do during pride aside from the parade. I’d love to check out some of the after parties/circuit parties but not sure which ones to keep my eye on. I saw that Formosa Pride is hosting 3 parties throughout the weekend and early bird tickets are going on sale soon. Is it worth getting tickets to this or will there be other worthwhile parties to check out? Any travel tips for a solo gay traveller will be much appreciated :)
