TL;DR. My 1st impression was not good and I won't be using Catalyst again. YMMV.
Someone mentioned Catalyst in this sub and it looked interesting to me. I ordered a sample of Peru. It shipped in a few hours from placing the order which was nice. It arrived USPS priority in the typical USPS box with the folded sides. One side was wide open and it was pure luck the coffee had not fallen out. A little tape over the tabbed sides would have saved this near misfortune. Hmm.
I love opening green coffee. That sweet, musky scent always is exciting to me. Opening these well-sealed coffees from Catalyst had a bit of that but also had a bit of a funky smell along with it. Hmm.
One odd thing is that on their website they have limited info about the coffee. However, when you scan the QR code on the bag, it directs you to a dropbox folder with documentation more similar to what you would see from an importer. Why don't they link it from their site? Hmm.
I weighed out 50g of one. With casual inspection, I picked out 5 beans that stood out. 2 due to their mutant shape, 1 super small spherical bean and 2 with black insect bites? fungus? Ug. The upper beans are randomly selected. I am sure if I searched there would be more bad examples in just 50g of coffee. The other sample looked much better. As a sanity check I compared these 2 Catalyst coffees to a Guatemala Sweet Maria coffee I had on hand and the quality difference was really significant, the SM coffee simply looked great in comparison. I roasted them both on my Ikawa, light-medium profile about 20% development. I have had many different coffees with the same profile, so it's my standard. Roasts turned out a bit more uneven than typical. Here's a photo of the roasts: https://ibb.co/gmMqfcb
I decided I was not going to drink the one that is pictured above. It's just too weird looking for me and I lose my appetite whenever I think of it. I tried the other 2 days after roasting and it was thin bodied, flavor is dark tones and for me, slightly unpleasant. I didn't finish the cup. I didn't bother to check but perhaps this is past crop coffee.
This was just a single experience based on my personal impressions so it wouldn't be fair to judge them as a bad coffee seller but I can say in all honesty my 1st impression was not good. They seem to specialize in Ethiopia, so perhaps those are great, I don't know.
For the record I used to run a super tiny coffee club but I am not in the coffee business any longer and have no interest in any coffee business. I'm just a retail home roaster now looking for great coffee and I post this if it helps anyone else on the same path.

I'm good at my job, damn good. I just had my annual evaluation and all marks were "Exceeds expectation". I've been here for 10 years and I know my job inside and out and I constantly receive praise from the people around me.
I've been here for a while so I've started to explore other opportunities over the last few years. I always make it past the initial stages and make it to in-person interviews. I've had around 5 interviews over the last 2 years and have not received an offer from any of them.
I know that I am a bad interviewer, I know this. Like I said before, I know my job inside and out, but I guess I just dont know how to express that very well. I dont have great examples of "tell me a time..." I try to wing it or say while I dont have experience with that, here is what I would do in that situation.
I dunno, I currently have a decent job so its not that big of a deal, but this last one stung a bit. It is a position that is already very similar to what I am currently doing, just with a different company so I thought I had it in the bag. I guess I just bombed the interview. It just sucks getting rejected all the time. Even if I dont take the job because of pay or whatever, it would just be nice to be offered the position to know I am their top candidate.

hi everyone, i’ll cut right to the chase and say that i struggle the most when i’m home. i’m f18 and live with family, they often all comment on how bad my room is. i know that it’s bad and the cycle of being told how bad it is doesn’t help as many of you may relate to. i have a full sized bed but my mess has left me with about 1/4 of the bed to sleep. my bedside table is overflowing with drinks and miscellaneous crap. my floor is covered in clothes and more miscellaneous shit. my laundry basket is overflowing with dirty clothes. my hair is matted and i feel ugly. i feel stuck in a loop of this disaster that i created and i can’t clean it up on my own. my problem in that regard lies with the fact that im not comfortable with anyone coming into my mess besides someone who lives a minimum of 45 minutes away. i also work 4 days a week which isn’t a lot i suppose but that wears me out so i don’t clean before or after work. i’m just drained from even looking at my room’s mess. i have about 5 filled garbage bags to take out so i guess that’s something but it’s never enough. it’s like there’s no change at all.

Why Do Gums Recede?

First of all, you need to know why gum recession occurs normally your gums cover your inner roots and protect them from several damages.
But when they recede, the roots become visible. As a result, the roots of your tooth become weak and lose the protection that healthy gums provide you.

In this stage, your gums may appear slightly pink and reddish type and you also feel may be mild discomfort and tenderness and sometimes it may be bleeding while brushing your teeth.

1. Stable Gingivitis:

When the gingivitis is in progress the gums become more inflamed and bleed more easily while eating or chewing. The redness and swelling become more visible and you continuously feel bad breath or a bad taste in your mouth

Periodontitis

Periodontitis is another form of gum disease. It affects the gums tissues that support your teeth. It normally happens to the inflammation of gums or bacteria that build up slowly around your teeth. If left untreated, periodontitis can lead to tooth loss.
Periodontitis treatment involves dental cleaning, brushing, flossing, and surgery in severe cases. The main cause of periodontitis is bad oral hygiene, smoking, diabetes, medications, and stress. Its symptoms include bad breathe, bleeding gums especially during brushing and receding gums etc.

Treatment Of Periodontitis

Let’s talk a little bit about the treatment of periodontal. It mostly happens by not taking care of your oral hygiene like not brushing or cleaning your teeth.
There are some things you do:

• Maintain your mouth hygiene: Brush your teeth at least 2 times a day and use mouthwash. And don’t forget to clean your tongue. After eating a meal rinse your mouth to out food particles.
• Quit smoking: Smoking plays a very important role in to risk of periodontal disease. So quiet smoking to decrease the chances of gum problems
• Quit alcohol consumption: Drinking alcohol causes dehydration. It leads to a dry mouth that slows the production of saliva. Which play a vital role in rinsing away food particles and harmful bacteria in your mouth which cause gum diseases.
• Balance diet: Good food plays a very important role to maintain healthy gums and teeth. Don’t eat a lot of sugary snacks and limit your intake of soft drinks which are high in sugar. Eat food that is rich in vitamins and minerals. Such as fruits and vegetables which support your gum health

Symptoms Of Gum Recession

The most common sign of gum recession is visible tooth roots and here are the other major symptoms of gum recession:

• Sensitivity: When tooth roots become visible they lost their protective covering which can lead to an increase in the sensitivity of the tooth to heat, cold, and sweets.
• Tooth pain: Gum recession can cause discomfort and tooth pain, especially when eating or drinking.
• Gum inflammation: It can cause redness, swelling, and inflammation in the gums.
• Bleeding Gums: Brushing or flossing may cause the gums to bleed easily.

8 WAYS TO STOP PAIN IN RECEDING GUMS

I know the pain of receding gums is very uncomfortable and disturbing but don’t worry here are the 8 simple and easy steps you follow you may get relief from gum problems:

1. Your Brushing Habits: First of all, change your brushing habits. Avoid it if you are brushing too hard or aggressively it can damage your tooth roots and supporting tissues which can irritate the gums and may cause them to recede.
2. Warm Compression: By applying a warm compression of cotton cloth outside of your cheeks near the area which is affected. This can help you to reduce pain and inflammation in your gums.
3. Using lukewarm Salt Water: Rinse your mouth with lukewarm salty water (adding a half teaspoon of salt to a cup of warm water) helps you to relieve pain and discomfort in your gums.

Noopel Emergency Whistles - This is just a whistle. But it's very sleek looking as far as whistles go. I like it in silver. $8. Very small and compact.
O-Cedar sponges, a 6 pack can be found for about $7. Imo some of the best sponges out there. Very much worth the cost. I think it won a bunch of kitchen awards.
CICIMELON Pencil Case can be found for $8. They look fine in black. But a great price.
Sawyer Squeeze. About $29. Arguably better than Life Straw. But definitely worth the cost.
Smelly Proof bags. Tacky name. But they work fantastic if you need to hide the smell of anything. You can use them in the fridge for smelly food, use them for take-out food in your car. Smells like nothing was there. I think its intended use is for hiding the smell of ambition-killing plants and it works for that too. They're almost as good as Lopsak Opsak bags at a fraction of the cost.
Earthpak Waterproof Drybag at $20 are a fantastic deal imo. They're a waterproof compression sack. I like to put waterless car wash bottles in them and a few rags so I can clean my car anywhere in an emergency. I also put anything that's soup or liquidy in them too.
Stanley Adventure Camp Cook Set - Clunky and ugly but a fan favorite. I personally returned mine because I found it just a bit clunky and ugly. But at $14 with a lifetime warranty, could be super valuable for a camper. Popular with campers. You might like it.
UCO 9-Hour White Candles at $8. Could be a life-saver.
Olight flashlights are fantastic and often very inexpensive. Almost always worth the cost.

Koss headphones. ie KPH 30i, Koss Porta Pro, Koss KCS75. These headphones are very good for the money. Often about $30 or so.
OLFA Household Scissors L-Shaped 112B at $14.99. These are fantastic scissors. Learned these from a lot of tools people. They cut through zip ties and plastic. Definitely a Quality of Life item

Okay so a flask of oil which is 1 pint covers a 5ft square and does 5 fire damage to anyone who steps in that area. I looked up online and apparently barrels in dnd hold 40 gallons. Which means 1 barrel can hold the equivalent of 320 flasks of oil (I think my math is right). So by the games standards if a barrel were to be ignited, what would be a reasonable area the blast would cover and for how much damage?
Asking mainly because the party has a lot of gold and they are presently preparing for a siege and are trying to make "Oil Barrel Bombs" meanwhile I'm curious as to how much fire damage 40 gallons of oil igniting all at once would reasonably do.

WTT Taylormade BRNR 11.5
I commented the other day that I had a BRNR and would be interested in letting it go. I bought it brand new from TM for $440 plus tax in 11.5° with a stiff shaft. Used a few times but it really doesn’t have a place in my bag.
I am really interested in potentially trading it for a nicer putter (Milled face, adjustable weights, etc) and or a nice hybrid. Looking for something 17-20°, preferably closer to 17° with a stiff shaft.

I start on 0.5 Saturday morning. I am ALWAYS nauseas though it comes and goes. I suspect that will start all over again when I dose up. I’m anxious to keep going. I have been weight training (it’s what I’ve done my whole life) and I am following a meal prep plan. I can’t eat as much as I once could, my brain doesn’t allow it and this is what I need! I worried about going this route. My problem has always been my eating and I thought “I overeat when I’m full now. All day, all the time. How in the hell will this be any different?” But it is! The impulse to sit and eat a full bag of chips until their gone and I wanna vomit has gone away :) I am very happy with my decision so far. I have not been healthy in years. My alcohol consumption is under control because there’s a desire to drink to fit my new lifestyle, not just because it’s available. I really love sharing my story this far and would love to hear yours.
