I already feel stupid for asking this question as I'm obviously missing something very important.
So the speed of light is constant in every frame of reference, right?
Now assume there are two observers, A and B, starting at position 0, observing a photon also starting at position 0.
Now B moves at speed x relative to A in the same direction of the photon. Then after a time t has passed for A, the photon is at position ct. After the same time t has passed for B, the photon should be at position (c+x)t. So the quotient of distances is (c+x)/c = 1+x/c, which is never larger than 2, implying that the passage of time for two observers can only differ by a factor less than two, which is wrong, as this time dilation factor is known to diverge to infinity as the relative speed moves approaches c. So what am I missing? Where is the mistake?

I have since checked libraries of Metro Vancouver for video games and made similar lists for those which offer them on loan, which is a total of five: Coquitlam Public Library, New Westminster Public Library, North Vancouver City Library, Richmond Public Library and (still) Vancouver Public Library.
First, you should know about InterLINK and member libraries.
Second, those five libraries have different borrowing rules / limits w.r.t. video games:
NB: Any renewals are conditional on the games not being on hold for anyone else / the games not being in demand. (¹) 2 automatic renewals and 3 manual ones (²) The writing is specific to "Nintendo Switch Games", but you'll see they only a handful of those listed on the website. This probably to other platforms but you might want to double check.
Lastly, here are my HowLongToBeat collections for each library:

- There's strictly no M rated games at VPL or NWPL.
- If you want a blast from the past, there's a single OG Xbox game at CPL, Tom Clancy's Splinter's Cell - and FWIW it is backwards compatible with every Xbox model - with a disc drive - in existence.
- RPL
- I was told by staff that they have another 10 Switch games on a first come, first serve basis, but I haven't heard back yet as to what those might be or where they are (and they're not in the system - that much I've been told). If you come across any of those games, please ping me so I can add them to the list!
- I was also told that they should begin buying new PS4/PS5/Xbox Series games at some point in the near future, budget permitting.
- Lastly, there's technically around 450 games listed on the RPL website, but I've found that they were either impossible to place a hold on or had a due date well in the past (> 6 months ago), thus the far lower number of games I listed above. I'm still checking with staff whether that's correct.

I(29F) am a nail tech who specializes in extensions, acrylics and more recently gel x. I’ve been doing it since 19 and I used it to pay my way though college and now I do it part time. My friend has been a long time client of mine and I’ve done nails on her since college (we were college friends). She always gets acrylics and pays cash so I give her a bit of a discount. I do a full set with gel color and an accent nail which I charge her $50 for.
I’m known for my really fast and precise work. Most people will take almost 2h to do a set with a design. I can get it done is around an hour. My friend usually gives me a 10–15% tip which is good to me. She asked me to do nails for her and her bridesmaids. I was also a guest. We negotiated the price as $40 flat for nails as some people just wanted gel with no extensions. There were 8 people in total.
We were suppose to do the nails the day before but only 3 bridesmaids and the bride showed up as they said a plane with the other 4 (all from Miami where we went to school) got delayed. This is not according to plan but she begged me to come the next morning and I did as a favor for a friend. I had to wake up at 5 am to get there at 7 am to do nails for the other 4 bridesmaids and it was exhausting. I had to rearrange things and rush back home to change and get ready for the party.
The wedding went well but she didn’t pay me for the nails. Originally she said she was going to pay me but then she said she was going to get the bridesmaids to pay me. It’s been 3 months since the wedding and I still didn’t get 2 of the bridesmaids payments. She also didn’t tip even though I drove an extra 1.5h to the hotel and back to do their nails on sight which is very expensive service normally. I asked her about it and she said she thought the tip was my wedding gift to her. That’s fine but I also bought her a gift for the wedding costing $120 and she didn’t volunteer it back. We also didn’t agree beforehand that my tips would be my wedding gift to her.
I am getting a lot more requests for nails and am able to change $70-80 for my services. My friend saw the new prices and asked for a discount. I use to do it because she’s a friend but after the wedding fiasco I told her because Im part time (I have another full time job) Im taking the high paying clients and with food prices going up I need to eat too. She got mad and called me greedy for not giving her the $50 rate I’d always let her pay even when my normal rates went up

Gensler kicking up a bunch of dust before emails from former SEC Director Hinman are released 13th June, next Tuesday in the XRP case. Largely expected to undermine current SEC positions
Probably more importantly on this point though, is that we mustn’t disproportionately overstate the impact of idiotic US policy (or lack of it). Yes it’s the largest singular economy.
It’s far from the majority of the pie though.

On that previous point, don’t be fooled by naysayers - nothing happens in Hong Kong without CCP approval. China realised that making a hostile environment for crypto will not kill crypto. They will just lose out on massive gains in a huge and growing sector. The US will eventually realise this too
Notice it’s HK’s Securities and Futures Commission providing the crypto guardrails too. It doesn’t matter if one province classes crypto as a security, a commodity or some whole new regulatory category, it’s just about retail and businesses needing to play by that country’s rules (on which the US is being intentionally opaque about)
For example, you think Polygon will be any less useful and utilised in the EU and HK/China just because the US doesn’t like it? You think if it turned so immensely hostile in the US, like in China when they were fully under their “crypto ban,” that US retail won’t simply use a VPN to purchase crypto?

On a per game basis, Duv ranked 1st in 5 of these 8 metrics. And in the 3 Duv wasn't 1st in (yds/rec, lng, rec/g), he was very close. More importantly, Duv consistently ranked 1st on a per game basis in 2022 over WRs that didn't have Roman as an OC; even with Ricard and the TEs taking all the targets, Duv beat the others. Most intriguing: Duv's catch rate was much higher than the others at 75.5%, a full 11% higher than 2d place Robinson. His drop rate is also very low at just 2%. Part of this is probably Duv being used almost exclusively for jet sweeps rather than tougher catches in coverage over the middle, but Duv still averaged more TD/game last year than the others.
- Agholor and Robinson are pretty similar: Of these 8 per game metrics from 2022, Robinson was better in 4 of them: yds/g, 1D/g, rec/g, catch %/g. Agholor was better in yd/rec, TD/g (barely, they're basically tied at 0.13 and 0.12), LNG/g, and yds/tgt. The only stats where there's a noticeable difference were 1D/g, Robinson was double Agholor's last year. Agholor's longest rec was 44 vs Robinson's 31. Robinson's catch %/g was better at 64 vs 58.5. There also wasn't much of a difference between depth of target either, Robinson was 6.1 vs Agholor's 6.8.
- Production from last year doesn't really justify a higher contract for Agholor: A bit subjective, but Robinson and Agholor were pretty similar stats-wise last year. We gave Agholor a 1y/3.25m deal with 3.25m guaranteed, we got Robinson for 1y/1.035m with 895k guaranteed. Personally I wanted to keep Robinson but seems like he wanted more money. Details for his recent Rams contract aren't available yet. I'd guess we wanted to keep Robinson but since he wanted more money we weren't willing to keep him, leaving us to try finding other WRs in FA. Treadwell cost 1y/1.035, tbh I would've kept Robinson after he proved he helped the pass game a lot. I don't think they saved a ton of money but it all depends on what Robinson was asking for- considering he just went to the Rams who have the 4th lowest cap, I'd guess Robinson might've wanted to go to a team where he wouldn't be behind Andrews/OBJ/Bateman. I felt Robinson did more for the WR situation than everyone except Bateman and Duv, sad to see him go.
- Treadwell is a slight upgrade from Proche but not by much: Their career catch rates are nearly identical- Treadwell 62.9, Proche 62.5. Proche seemed to have a down year vs 2021, his '21 catch rate was 80% but in '22 it dropped to 47.1%. Treadwell's '22 catch rate was noticeably better at 60%, but Proche still finished with 20 more yds. In 2022, they tied in 1Ds, but Treadwell's drop rate was also a lot higher (10 vs 5.9). Treadwell had more yds/g (7 vs 4.1). Treadwell adds size though, which is something this team needed: Treadwell's 6'2 215 vs Proche 5'11 195. Surprisingly, while Treadwell's been in the NFL since 2016, he's only a year older than Proche, who was drafted in 2020. Proche was 24 when he got drafted. Proche didn't run the 40 so idk his time, but I'd guess it's similar to Treadwell's 4.63.
- Duv played a lot more than I expected in 2022: A lot of us felt Duv was barely on the field last year, but surprisingly he played 69% of the snaps last year. His usage actually went up in 2022- he had 51% in '21 and 34% in '20. Seeing him play more snaps than Agholor last year was very surprising.
- Proche per game in '22 wasn't that different from Wallace: Proche is def a better player, but wasn't as impactful as I expected. He averaged just 4.13 yds/g vs Wallace's 3.67, neither scored a TD last year, their longest rec was identical, their rec/g was basically identical (Proche 0.5 vs Wallace 0.4). The differences are still there though, Proche's career catch rate is 16% higher. Neither were targeted much at all in 2022: Proche 17 tgts vs Wallace's just 7. Wallace's drop rate last year was very high at 14.3% vs Proche's 5.9%. Considering all these WRs are generally in the slot WR role, Wallace is gonna have to be Boykin's ST replacement to avoid getting cut. Wallace does play a lot more ST (like 30% more) than the others, so they seem to like him there but he better get damn good at blocking.
-Agholor's career catch rate isn't great and is the 2nd lowest next to Wallace, but isn't that different from Robinson/Treadwell/Proche: Proche's per game career catch rate is 59.3%, which as expected isn't great. It was 59.9% with the Eagles so there's some truth to the meme. However, it's only 3% worse than Proche and Treadwell and only 4% worse than Robinson, so it's not like it's double digits worse.
- Agholor has never really played special teams: Interesting that despite being a ST coach, Harbaugh got Agholor who has basically never played special teams: Agholor was on ST for 5% of the snaps in 2016, 1% in 2019, and then 6 of his 8 seasons with 0% of the snaps on ST. Every other WR on the list played some ST last year except for Agholor, and Robinson played only 1% of the ST snaps in 2022. Thought that was kinda interesting and unexpected.
- Proche was on the field a lot less than I expected last year: After Bateman got hurt it seemed like it was just Proche and Robinson at WR with Duv being used for occasional sweeps, but no, Duv played a whopping 49% more of the offense snaps than Proche. With Wallace playing just 13% of the snaps, Proche actually wasn't on the field much more than Wallace was last year- Proche only played 7% more snaps than Wallace last year. Proche is def at a disadvantage vs Agholor though considering he had Roman, so I don't hold his weak production against him that much, although it's nice to have competition in the WR room. That being said, Agholor also got stuck with Patricia. For a 6th rounder, Proche's been pretty successful and should be proud of that. Seems like a really nice dude, on a personality basis he's always been 1 of my favs and I'll always root for him.

OVERALL IMPRESSIONS:

Wallace does play a lot more ST (like 30% more) than the others, so they seem to like him there but he better get damn good at blocking.
-Agholor's career catch rate isn't great and is the 2nd lowest next to Wallace, but isn't that different from Robinson/Treadwell/Proche: Proche's per game career catch rate is 59.3%, which as expected isn't great. It was 59.9% with the Eagles so there's some truth to the meme. However, it's only 3% worse than Proche and Treadwell and only 4% worse than Robinson, so it's not like it's double digits worse.
- Agholor has never really played special teams: Interesting that despite being a ST coach, Harbaugh got Agholor who has basically never played special teams: Agholor was on ST for 5% of the snaps in 2016, 1% in 2019, and then 6 of his 8 seasons with 0% of the snaps on ST. Every other WR on the list played some ST last year except for Agholor, and Robinson played only 1% of the ST snaps in 2022. Thought that was kinda interesting and unexpected.
- Proche was on the field a lot less than I expected last year: After Bateman got hurt it seemed like it was just Proche and Robinson at WR with Duv being used for occasional sweeps, but no, Duv played a whopping 49% more of the offense snaps than Proche. With Wallace playing just 13% of the snaps, Proche actually wasn't on the field much more than Wallace was last year- Proche only played 7% more snaps than Wallace last year. Proche is def at a disadvantage vs Agholor though considering he had Roman, so I don't hold his weak production against him that much, although it's nice to have competition in the WR room. That being said, Agholor also got stuck with Patricia. For a 6th rounder, Proche's been pretty successful and should be proud of that. Seems like a really nice dude, on a personality basis he's always been 1 of my favs and I'll always root for him.
I was wondering how Agholor and Robinson compared to some of the other WRs, so I did the research and wanted to share it with the Flock so hopefully y'all found it interesting :)

I've posted several times asking about VRR for Steam Deck and I'm happy to say I've finally gotten it to work on my Steam Deck. However, there are very few clear instructions of the requirements of how to enable VRR for Steam Deck, so I decided to make a quick guide here in case there are other folks like me who are trying to figure it out as well.
I'll outline some upfront requirements:
This is the first time I've gotten to experience VRR and I can say it makes a huge difference with playing the Steam Deck in particular on an external display, particularly since my monitor supports LFC, as many modern games won't reach extremely high frame rates. For some of the games I've tested like Horizon Zero Dawn, the game mostly hits an FPS in the high 30s and low 40s with an unlocked frame rate. However, I found it to be extremely unenjoyable trying to target 40 FPS on a regular screen with V-Sync because whenever the frame rate dipped it caused huge stutters in the game, so I chose to play the game at 30 FPS. However, with VRR, I can use an unlocked frame rate where I can play most of the game at near 40 FPS and the frame rate dips don't ruin the fluidity in the gameplay.
If there are any VRR noobs out there like me, I hope that this guide was somewhat helpful!

I'll outline some upfront requirements:
- VRR capable display that allows DisplayPort input
- You must be using DisplayPort to connect your SteamDeck to an external display. VRR via HDMI is not currently possible with Linux from what I've read online.
- You must be using a dock / dongle that only supports up to 8k30hz with USB 2.0. For whatever reason, VRR does not seem to work with 8k60hz with USB 3.0 docks / dongles, which includes the official Steam Deck dock. These are not super widely available, but you should be able to find a cheap one on Ebay. For example, this is the one I'm using.
- From what I've seen for most users, including myself, VRR is only possible in desktop mode, so if you want to play games using VRR, make sure you're in desktop mode.
- Once you have VRR enabled, it will only work for applications running in fullscreen, so make sure you are playing your games in full screen or borderless windowed modes.
- First make sure VRR is enabled in your external displays settings. This is different for the displays, but it should be fairly straightforward.
- Then, while connected to your external display, on your SteamDeck go intoin desktop mode, and open up "konsole". You must make sure your display is recognized as being VRR capable by using the following command: "xrandr --prop grep -e connected -e vrr". The eDP value is for the deck's built-in display, so it will show as a 0 meaning it isn't VRR capable. DisplayPort-0 is the value for the external display, which should be 1, meaning it is VRR capable.
- Do not proceed to the next steps unless the value for your external display is a 1. If you are certain your external display is VRR capable and it is showing as a 0, it likely has to do with your dock or dongle. I had previously followed this before while my Steam Deck was connected to my external display via the official Steam Deck Dock and it bricked my system. I was luckily able to restore my system, but it is obviously best not to have this occurs.
- Follow step by step instructions provided in the comment from the user RADAQ here. The only step that you don't need to do is reconnecting your monitor when you go into game mode. You should be able to leave your Steam Deck connected to your external monitor the whole time.
- You're all set. If you're monitor has an option to display refresh rate, than you can validate if VRR is working in your game by opening up a game and displaying the refresh rate. The refresh rate should constantly be changing along with the games refresh rate as long as your FPS is within the display's supported VRR range.
- If you're monitor supports Low Frame Rate Compensation (LFC), than your refresh will show as double whatever the frame rate is when the frame rate dips below the display's supported VRR range.

Bought that Neo QLED TV from Samsung which promises native 4K and 144Hz. The only problem is that this TV has only HDMI support. Unfortunately my GPU has 2xDP and 1xHDMI 2.0b which doesn't send 4K at high frame rate to the TV (Works only 4K 60Hz). So a googled some stuff but didn't find anything about using the DP from GPU to the HDMI from TV (except this video, but for him it was only 120Hz).
So my question is the same as the title: Will a Displayport 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 cable (or adapter) send 4K 144Hz from GPU to TV?
