2023.06.02 10:37 Commander_PonyShep Does anyone look at V's five attributes and twelve skillsets, and think about a five-man band?
You know? As in:
- The Lancer = Reflexes and Cool, for more stealth-oriented play.
- The Big Guy = Body, for a more run-and-gun approach.
- The Smart Guy = Technical Ability, for crafting items and using smart/tech weapons and grenades.
- The Chick/Heart = Intelligence, for quick-hacks and breach protocol.
Like, it's an RPG, so you're practically developing V into one of these several different five-man band archetypes. Also, five-man bands are an incredibly common thing in most science-fiction and fantasy stories, whether it's a small crew of soldiers, scientists, engineers, and medics like in a sci-fi setting, or a small adventuring party of warriors, rogues, mages, and clerics like in a fantasy setting. And that even though V is just one character, the numerous builds for him weren't going to be any exception.
Anyone think the same way I do?

2023.06.02 10:37 Ieatflowers68 Trying to work out next step for neck/shoulder injury.
Hi all,
About a month ago I injured my neck when going up for a header in a football match (soccer, for those across the pond). As I stretched upwards to reach the ball, someone collided into my right shoulder from behind me with force, causing my neck/shoulder to be abruptly and unexpectedly forced forwards and against the upwards momentum that I had from jumping for the header. Side note: The ref of course gave no foul and the game carried on:)
There was a decent level of immediate pain, but I played on for the rest of the match, and for the next day or two the pain wasn't so bad. However, the pain began to increase in intensity and frequency a few days after the initial injury, so much so that even just sitting at my desk was painful enough to warrant the taking of several ibuprofen.
The most painful movements seemed to involve:
- turning my head to the left.
- dropping my right shoulder and tilting my head to the left (a stretch that my physio had showed me about a year before to relieve tightness in my neck and shoulder)
- sleeping on my right shoulder (I typically sleep on my side).
A dull ache also extended from where my neck joined my upper spine, across the upper back and shoulder, and down the upper portion of my arm.
Finally, the muscles in my shouldearm seem less able to harness their power. My right shouldearm seems to only be able to generate about one third to two thirds of the force that my left shouldearm can. Movements where the right arm extends across the body, such as doing a backhand in tennis, are where the right shouldearm is the weakest and can hardly generate any power. Similarly, with overhead press where my left arm can do a full set, my right cannot even lift the weight to the starting position. The biceps and triceps seem to be less badly affected, as I can curl and dip probably two thirds of the weight when compared to my left arm with these muscles/movements.
The good news is that most of the time the neck/shoulder doesn't seem to hurt more during exercise than it does day to day. However, I did hit the gym last night and exercised my back, shoulders and biceps, and I feel like my shoulder is now feeling more painful this morning than it would otherwise be had I not gone to the gym.
I went to see my physio about a week after the initial injury, who gave it a massage and clicked my neck/shoulder a few times. He advised that I could continue with my usual exercise (including lifting weights, playing football and tennis, etc) as normal. He also gave me some stretches to do to relieve the neck and shoulder tightness which had occurred in response to the injury. He said my right shoulder was very tight.
After a few weeks of regular stretching and exercising as normal, the pain seemed to be lessening, in that I was barely having to take any ibuprofen for it. But then last Sunday (about 4 weeks after the initial injury) I played a football match. As the balled was whipped in to the box, I braced myself ready to leap up and header it in. But as I began leaving the ground, someone pushed their hands down into my shoulders/upper back, using me as a launchpad off of which to reach the ball themselves, and so the upwards force of my jump was counteracted by the sudden downwards pressure of their weight on my neck/shoulders.
I heard and felt 3 clicks in my neck/upper back and fell to the floor in quite a bit of pain. No foul was given and I played the rest of the match:)
I haven't been to see the physio since, because this only happened a few days ago, but I'm wondering if the physio is even the best place for me, since I've always regarded physios as being the people to go to for muscle injuries, but to me this has always felt like it's something to do with the upper spine being out of place, and the 3 clicks which I heard when I got the second injury add to that belief. I feel like maybe a chiropractor is what I need, so that they can move some stuff around in my upper spine/neck area. I've felt for a while like my head sits further forward than it used to and that it perhaps needs a professional to force it backwards until it clicks nicely back into place, but I am no expert myself, so I may just be chatting out my arse here.
Anyway, I'm hoping someone here might be able to diagnose what my injury might be, and/or whether it requires any more professional input (be it physio/chiropractor, or someone else), or whether it should get better over time if I continue doing my daily stretches. I'm just worried that even if the pain reduces over time, there may still be some residual weakness or susceptibility in that area, which could cause the injury to reoccur when I go back to playing regular football in two months time, which is why I kind of want a professional to click a few things so that I feel like everything is back in place again and won't just be easily dislodged again the next time I play football.
Thanks to everyone who read to the end, and to anyone who bothers to comment:)

2023.06.02 10:37 Dipav14 Wise fraud case seeking advice
Hey guys, looking to get insight.
Two months ago I tried sending money (3000$) from my Canadian bank account to my wise account via Interac. Wise's website states that regardless if I added the reference code in my transfer or not they would credit my account anyways
So I didn't think to much of it and sent it to their Interac email that they asked I send it to minus the reference code
I get an email from wise a week later saying their interac email (that they specified I transfer the money to) was intercepted by a scammer and my money was deposited to a hacker's account.
And that they are not taking responsibility for it because the transaction happened outside of their platform.
Because my bank account is Canadian, they are acting as Wise Canada and not Wise UK ( they don't have a legal body in Canada and thus I cannot sue them)
The Ombudsman UK said because the transaction happened outside UK, they cannot help me.
I want to hold wise accountable and get my money back and let everyone know they are fraudulent and don't have basic security measures in place, broke the GDPR compliance rules and are criminals.
I opened my wise account when I was in Germany so there is no connection to Canada.
Any advice would be appreciated, I feel completely defeated and want justice.
Thanks

2023.06.02 10:32 covertkek I'm 2 years clean yet I can't stop "speeding"
Sorry for the silly title, but I feel it is somewhat genuine. I am clean and do not use stimulants aside from caffeine.
What I mean by "speeding" is, that's how perform I a lot of my tasks, very similar to how I was while using. I'm often trying to and multitask, often without realizing. I may get very impatient, with whatever I'm working on, myself, or another person.
Sometimes it feels startlingly similar to when I was on stims, furiously typing/writing/whatever the hell. By this i mean physically, and lacking any high, of course. I'll get way into whatever I'm doing, and I'll start exhibiting the behaviors I did on stims. Tense muscles throughout my body, opening a ton of tabs and trying to get stuff done, staying up late (though I'm pretty slow moving and rarely feel this attentive during the day), and just an inability to stop the momentum I have of getting things done.
Has anyone experienced this in their sobriety? It feels like one of the last big things holding me back that I caused in my addiction. I know the obvious answer is to practice slowing down, but I have poor memory and some adhd so I often immediately find myself mutitasking/rushing/opening a lot of tabs to search and remember things for later, and ultimately getting lost in it lol.

2023.06.02 10:30 Nello-the-Tiger I hate my body SO much.
My body is too hairy. I hate it. I'm like a damn ape. I've had serious eczema for over 20 years that my skin has brown spots everywhere. My skin looks like a muffin to me. I see so many people with smooth, skily skin online. They're usually younger than me, but also just blessed. Or it might be that I'm cursed. I hate myself so much. I also wanna be told pretty by strangers. I also wanna feel what it's like to be attractice. I seriously don't wanna live stuck in this body anymore. There's no joy in my life. Nobody loves me or even cares about me. What am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to live with this gross body? I can't even look at a mirror or just look at my own body parts anymore.

2023.06.02 10:30 reddithenry 2022 La Mondotte
"Blackberries and blueberries with chalkboard and dark earth aromas. Flowers, too. Lead pencil. Full-bodied and very deep in the palate, which is reserved and texturally sophisticated. Chalky, too. Silky and very polished. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. From organically grown grapes." 97-98 points, James Suckling “The 2022 La Mondotte is complex, vibrant and beautifully layered. Inky dark fruit, graphite, lavender, dried herbs and bittersweet chocolate abound in a Mondotte that impresses with its energy and vibrancy. A very early start to harvest and a pulled back approach in the cellar yielded a Mondotte that is wonderfully dynamic in its presence.” 95-97 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous 93-95+ points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate 17 points, JancisRobinson.com

2023.06.02 10:29 Wonderful_Stick Fun little fluff about the ending of the game
At the start of the game you lose 1 limb. And I was wondering if Link could recover his old arm back at the ending. Last monday I found all dragon's tears. I was extremely sad and wanted to recover Zelda's body back as soon as possible. I still needed to visit 3 other regio's. And today I defeated Ganondorf, saw the ending, was extremely amazed and happy of the battle and ending. (I still regret to rush the game, but I just wanted to really know whats gonna happen with zelda, it was an emotional rollercoaster for me. Did anyone else did the memories first and regions later?)
I thought at the end: "Hey wait a minute, I recovered my limb back and the body of a loved one... this is just like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood with Edward and Alphonse!" That's all I wanted to share, 10/10 game of the year 2023!

2023.06.02 10:29 reddithenry 2022 Canon La Gaffeliere
£391/6
"Blackberries and blueberries with chalkboard and dark earth aromas. Flowers, too. Lead pencil. Full-bodied and very deep in the palate, which is reserved and texturally sophisticated. Chalky, too. Silky and very polished. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. From organically grown grapes."
97-98 points, James Suckling
“The 2022 Canon La Gaffelière is bright, punchy and full of character. Blood orange, rose petal and spice overtones brighten a core of red/purplish fruit in Saint-Émilion that impresses with its saline intensity, energy and focus. If tasting this blind, I would never say it is a wine from a warm, drought year. It will be interesting to see if the 2022 retains its youthful vibrancy through élevage. This is super promising.”
94-96 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
“A blend of 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022 Canon la Gaffelière exhibits aromas of raspberries and plums, complemented by notions of iris, rose petals, incense and burning embers. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's supple, suave and sophisticated, with a lively core of fruit, powdery tannins and a long, saline finish.”
94-96 points, William Kelley, Wine Advocate
Seems a decent increase on back vintages, I was looking forward to this wine as the scores arent bad. I'm not decided yet.
