 | My package was supposed to be out for delivery today and then it say missent around 9am. So I call the post office customer service number, they say it’s still in transit and got scanned and will make its way around to the right post office. But I got a text message around 6:41pm saying my package was delivered and picked up at the post office. Which is weird cause I was I’m not the one that picked it up (and I thought people need an id with them to pick it up) but anyways I called the post office customer service again and even the lady on the phone said it’s weird cause it says it was picked up at 5:51pm even though the post office closes a 5pm. I wondered why for a while why I had so much white discharge on my dilators. On Monday (5/30), I was shocked that putting in my dilator was painful. I had made great progress with dilator 4.
So fast forward and it’s Tuesday and I have an appointment with a OB/GYN who has a speciality and interest in pelvic floor muscles and vaginismus (she doesn’t take new patients. I was an exception because my primary OB/GYN called in). Lo and behold… BV. :( Dilator therapy is cleared, but I can’t attempt PIV. Boooooo.
The antibiotic I need to use requires and applicator and inserted vaginally. The good news- the applicator doesn’t hurt and it’s insertable. It’s easier to I’m just mad that it is a small step back and I’ve been having some issues with jealousy and envy and so I really want to have sex.
We have a strong aftercare plan and yes, I never orgasmed before and unlike my last OB/GYN I saw in November (I have a new team now), at least she didn’t make it seem flippant about it and actually gave me more resources and more comforting about it, especially because I was a victim of assault.
Sorry team, no solutions today or no: “you got this” and encouragement. But just also take care of yourselves down there. And seriously, clean your dilators. I done that, but just be careful and try to figure out what might be best for your body.

- Research: 1500+ hours (worked in 2 separate labs, 1 publication, 3 poster presentations, ongoing project with upcoming senior thesis)
- Clinical: 300+ hours (MA over the summer at primary care office in my hometown, volunteering in hospitals and specialist offices in college town)
- Shadowing: 200+ hours with family med, OB-GYN, dermatologist NP, neurologist, and vascular surgeon
- Community service and leadership: 700+ hours (most of my hours are for a leadership position in a service org, the rest is with volunteering with the homeless population and mentoring/tutoring elementary and middle school students in my college town)
- TA: completed 200 hours as a peer mentor for Honor college students & anticipated 200 hours TA for intro to Biochem class
- Award/Honors: Phi Beta Kappa, President's Gold Volunteer Service award, undergrad research scholarship from university

Just had a positive pregnancy test very early (right after missed period), putting me at about four weeks. My partner and I are thrilled and freaking out, and I've made an appointment to see my OB/GYN in a few weeks. But now that appointments have been made, and I don't have any steps but waiting for now I'm just like...what do I do with myself? I'm just sitting here on this GIANT news and I can't tell anyone and I'm just supposed to...go about my day? Pretend the earth hasn't just shifted under my feet? SEND EMAILS?!

My (26F) 20W anatomy scan is tomorrow on the exact day I turn 20W and I am so so nervous. This pregnancy has been ROUGH. • I have kept losing weight • I can only afford about 1 real meal a day so I just consume small, nutrient poor snacks to get by in between. • I have endured consistently high mental stress my whole pregnancy.
I have also had sex a few times during the past month and have had bleeding each time along with intense throbbing, pain afterwards. My sex partner is not gentle at all and doesn’t adjust at the sight of blood. Essentially it is just sex with us; nothing more even with this baby inside me. He doesn’t really acknowledge the pregnancy and I know that should be all the reason to not even get in his bed, but I struggle so much with self worth and very unhealthy/disrespectful sexual treatment it has really construed my judgement over the years. My boundaries here aren’t respected really and that’s something I obviously didn’t work at hard enough which is how I got pregnant. It’s shameful I know, but I am working on it.
Further, because I am so fearful of losing my job (and also have bad judgement) I never called the doctor because the bleeding wasn’t ongoing and the pain would subside after about a full 24h later. I feel like they would have wanted me to come in and my boss, who is a woman to a team full of women, has not been compassionate to me during this pregnancy since I told her. Instead she has put performance pressure on x10 and isn’t kind to me rescheduling my day for health issues as I learned during the first trimester.
To add to my worry, during my last appt. at 16w I had a pap bc I was due for one and a new patient in a new state. There was quite a bit of bleeding during and afterwards along with my OB asking if I’ve experienced trauma while doing the exam. I said yes but then she said nothing else. Shortly after I moved to this city last year, I was raped and sought medical care about a week after at an urgent care. The provider declined to do an exam and referred me to a GYN. It was going to take another like 6w to get into a GYN and the whole thing just shot my confidence because it took me so long to finally even walk in the office and the woman didn’t even want to peek at my insides to give me a thumbs up or down. Only STI and pregnancy testing. It made me feel embarrassed like she was grossed out i was assaulted. So a few days later once I learned I didn’t have an STI. I just gave up. When I became pregnant and started seeing an OB, I never got the chance to explain my sexual history. At least where I am at, they only ask about STIs. During my last appt., we never got to circle back to the why behind that trauma question nor did I get to tell her the rape story during the visit, but with all the bleeding and my history of SA it did make me wonder what she saw. So I plan to bring that back up.
I honestly don’t have a lot of people to talk to openly about my body, the experience of being pregnant, or all my mental mess & trauma aside from my therapist I see about every other month due to co pays. I’m just so nervous that my pregnancy experience along with how my body looks is going to yield bad news. My whole day job is focused around positive psychology so I’m doing my best to not focus on the negative potential here, but tbh I feel like ignoring it and just reframing for the positive is naive. I don’t even have a support person to go to my appt. with me. Any advice or good vibes?

3 weeks ago I felt pain in my left breast, I made an appointment with my ob/gyn immediately. Had a mammogram and ultrasound which lead to a biopsy (16 samples taken, 4 lumps and a lymph node).
And here I am still with a patched up bruised breast, and a new diagnosis of IDC grade 3 triple negative breast cancer.
I have a genetics test, chemo education class, PET scan and a 2nd oncologist consult (I’m switching to a different health system that is well known for the BC care and closer to home), all of this next week. Trying to balance work and these appointments seems impossible.
They want to start me on chemo in 1.5-2weeks as quickly as possible.
My brain is swirling.
Im 38 years old with 4 kids and I’ve been working and going to college full time the past 3 years. Im supposed to graduate this fall.
I’ve screamed, I’ve been pissed off, I’ve cried that I might die and my youngest won’t remember me.
I’ve made jokes and laughed at this just being my luck.
I don’t feel much right now though. Just ready to get the ball rolling to start this journey that will take at least a year if not more.
The oncologist said that if the results of the PET scan are what he thinks they will be, then I will have:
12 weeks of weekly chemo 12 weeks of chemo every 3 weeks
Somewhere in there is immunotherapy
Then a 4 weeks break
A mastectomy (I’m opting for a double, my left breast is so diseased with this awful cancer there’s no saving it)
Then another 4 week break
Radiation therapy
Then some point after that reconstructive surgery.
So that’s where I’m at…I kept hoping for good news…
“Please let the mammogram would reveal it’s a cyst or fibrocystic lump”
“Please let the biopsy would reveal its fibroadenomas.”
“Ok but the lymph node is negative for cancer, right!?”
“Okay but it’ll be good for the markers it’ll have the receptors to where I can go on hormone therapy to keep it away?”
No No No No
Every single time it’s another blow to the gut!!!
I’m really hoping the PET scan will be my first but if light in this whole fiasco.
It’s so frustrating.
Anyway
I’m here now…sharing this experience with so many amazing and brave women who have done this before me and currently doing it. I find inspiration from your stories. I’ve been creeping around this sub for 3 weeks since I found the lump.

The Center for Reproductive Rights is expected to add eight more women to a lawsuit it filed against Texas over its abortion ban, claiming their lives were put at risk due to the law.
The suit alleged that Texas' abortion bans have denied the plaintiffs and countless other pregnant people necessary and potentially life-saving medical care because physicians in the state fear liability, according to a draft of the complaint shared with ABC News.
The suit also alleged that the abortion bans have caused and threaten to cause irreparable injury to the patient plaintiffs and the patients of physician plaintiffs filing the suit.
The suit is the first to be filed by women impacted by the abortion bans since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last year, ending federal protections for abortion rights.
Along with the women who filed the suit after they were unable to access abortion care in the state, two Texas OB-GYNs - Dr. Damla Karsan and Dr. Judy Levison - are also plaintiffs who alleged the bans have had a devastating impact on their practice and that of their colleagues, who fear prosecutors and politicians will target them personally and threaten state funding of hospitals if they provide abortion care to pregnant people with emergency medical conditions, according to a draft of the suit.
Women added to the lawsuit Two plaintiffs, Kiersten Hogan and Elizabeth Weller, had their water break prematurely, but were both told to wait until they were sick enough to receive abortion care, according to a draft of the suit.

I think as more and more women run into health problems due to inability to abort, there will be more pushback. Women aren't just going to 'get used to it' especially when the health problems DO NOT MAGICALLY GO AWAY. And there has been no effort by PL movement to fix the problems in legislation.
