While buying used can be a good idea…for a beginner it can be a bit overwhelming and there isn’t a return policy safety net. So what are some good recommendations in the $300, $650, $1000 price points for new guitar & amps for a new player?
I think $300 (unfortunately…used to be $200) you’re kind of stuck buying whatever $150 amp doesn’t sound terrible and then whatever guitar fits your remaining cash. I’d prioritize it that way too…the guitar can have some mechanical areas corrected/filed/sanded/polished/string gauges/etc to help out. The amp is just what it is mostly.
$650, now there are some options. Can step up to the $300 amps (katana, catalyst, spark, etc) and then you have $350 to start to think about the better entry level imports from most brands. I think it would be hard to say someone made a bad choice buying say a Schecter c6 and a catalyst (though someone will)
$1000…now there are lots of options but with some trade offs. Floyd, actives, nicer features. Tube amps become an option but require some trade offs. An epiphone standard les Paul or CV strat or…I mean so many options, and whatever amp you like for $500?
As you can see I don’t know what good general guides would be. Anyways..what do you think? What would be your go to options for those 3 price points?

You may be used to seeing headlines extolling the tax revenue of Cannabis in recent years[1][2][3]. Cannabis sales generated billions in revenue for states over the last few years, and the states have put the revenue of those sales into different social programs like education or racial equity funds. This makes it seem like the legal cannabis markets are thriving in these states, but I'm here to tell you that some of these markets are actively collapsing
In California, the state approaches new dispensary licensing as "may-issue". You are not guaranteed a license, and whether or not you can open a dispensary in your area is also up to the municipality. The lack of licenses has made it difficult for MSOs (Multi-State Operators) who operate at a more efficient economic scale to get a foothold in the market. As a result, some MSOs have willingly exited the California market (the largest cannabis market in the United States) entirely[4][5]. The lack of licenses and high excise tax (15% in California), the burden of which is placed on cash-strapped retailers, has made it difficult for legal retailers to compete with a still-thriving illegal market:[6]

Voters passed a law in November 2016 making recreational marijuana legal. But today, the vast majority of the market remains underground – about 80-90% of it, according to experts

In the places that do allow pot shops and grows, business owners say high taxes, the limited availability of licenses, and expensive regulatory costs have put the legal market out of reach. And many of the Black and brown entrepreneurs who were supposed to benefit from legalization have actually ended up losing money. Meanwhile, consumers remain confused about what’s legal and what’s not.

This is compounded by a political culture in California which is afraid of enforcing the law on the illicit market. In Michigan, similar pressures have led to a collapse in prices which has affected growers[7]:

The industry has, for the past year or so, tried to sidestep the oversupply issue by pointing to illegal marijuana making it into the legal market.
The theory is that mass amounts of distillate, used in making vapes and edibles, is being shipped in from out of state at a steep discount and finding its way to store shelves. The other gripe is that marijuana grown by individuals is finding its way into retailers and growers without being entered into the state's tracking system.

Because it has proven historically near-impossible to enforce marijuana laws in the United States, the illegal market continues to out-compete to legal market at every level (retail, distribution, growing). States have responded not by increasing enforcement or deregulating, but by doubling down on restricting supply. San Francisco, in order to prevent the market from lowering its prices to compete with the illicit market, has recently announced that it will not issue any new licenses until 2028 [8]:

“If there is a continued illicit market and a continued saturation, many of these businesses that we’ve put effort and energy into won’t survive,” said board member Ahsha Safai, who wrote the moratorium bill.
Safai said that roughly 60% of the cannabis trade in San Francisco is illicit and that stalling new licenses will help the existing businesses stabilize.

It seems San Francisco will try anything other than enforcing the law or deregulating. Growers in California have also suffered from increased regulation[9]:

As a result, the state is now awash in tax revenue, much of it from the industrial-scale farmers and retailers, and in marijuana, a market glut that has gutted wholesale prices and left farmers such as Barber unable to break even. The state rules and omissions have also empowered a still-thriving black market for marijuana — once a chief target of state regulators — whose growers sell their product illegally across state borders and still fetch a lucrative price.

The net result of the collapsing cannabis market is that Cannabis tax revenue has slightly decreased between 2021 and 2022[10]:

“In addition to the persisting illicit market and plummeting wholesale prices, extreme delays in local licensing have been cited as a cause for the decline,” the report said.

In summary, the pressures on the California market (and other states) are almost entirely government-imposed. Growers and retailers would benefit from wholesale deregulation. I believe the following measures should be taken:

1. Issue an unlimited number of licenses to whoever complies with health and safety regulations. Become a will-issue state instead of a may-issue state
   
2. Remove the excise tax on marijuana and charge the regular state sales tax. Slash taxes between growers, distributors, and retailers, where as much as 40% of the value is captured by the state [11]
   
3. Regulations on cannabis sales and growing should only cover product quality and safety. Cannabis should be tested for THC levels to guarantee a high quality product (which is another issue in many states)
   

Of course, it should be said that the largest threat the the cannabis market is federal regulation, where cannabis is still considered to be more dangerous than cocaine. Federal banking and tax regulations continue to prevent cannabis retailers from accepting credit card payments and requiring them to operate entirely through cash transactions, many still unable to use even debit card transactions.
Cannabis retailers are also unable to take advantage of many tax breaks available to other businesses, such as writing off the cost of marketing expenses on their yearly taxes. This has ripple effects on other businesses (such ad advertising companies) which serve the cannabis market, but don't directly sell cannabis themselves.
Passing the SAFE Banking act[12] would legitimize these businesses at the federal level and lead to economic growth on the sidelines of the cannabis industry as well by allowing them to take advantage of these tax incentives.

Usual commodity-backed currencies are a bad idea - they are unresponsive to the needs of the economy, translates volatility in 1 commodity into all prices and forces the central bank to hold huge reserves which is a huge waste.
But what if a commodity is backed by something that has real value, is tied to the needs of the economy and can't be accumulated at all - something like electricity or water bills? I.e. make a currency that says "1 Kw*H peak hours" that you can use to pay for your electricity needs.
Electricity correlates quite well with the needs of the economy, long term it is not volatile at all (outside the "green energy") and all the "reserves" are in the form of investment into the infrastructure which is a huge boon to the economy.
Of course, where are other things that a currency can be tied to - water bills, land taxes, etc...
What will the downsides to such a currency be?

The guide I was given mentions every single section of this form, EXCEPT the life insurance section. Non context is given, I don’t know if it wants info about life insurance that I already have (which I don’t have), if it’s asking for info about some kind of future life insurance offered by the air force, or some 3rd option.
I need freakin help with this thing. I have to submit it tomorrow and my recruiter is away. There’s already a bunch of sketchy sections where I’m just gonna have to wing it (I was homeschooled which complicates the education section, my last job is permanently closed and I have no contact info, and where it asks for someone who knows you live where you live, I have to list a relative of a friend who’s already listed as the person who’s known me for 7 years)

So, you know in Little Nemo when he gets taken off to do all these different lessons in how to be a Prince?
Well, my party has been taken to the Burgomaster's mansion late in the evening and I ended up ruling that Vargas wants them to learn how to conduct themselves properly in Vallaki. He is forcing them to stay until after the next festival to prove it to him. So, he's going to assign each of them to a different individual in town who will act as an "etiquette guide" in the morning. What do you all think of this? I know it's going to be complex to keep 4 people engaged with the various stories, but here's what I have planned if you want to provide input:

1. Izek - My Barbarian is Izek's long lost sibling and he just revealed it in the middle of the night to her. I plan on having him take her with him to do some rabble rouser busting, maybe torture Udo in the burgomaster's mansion a bit and bring some people to the Education Center. Izek in my campaign has been gaslit and manipulated into believing in the Burgomaster's mission and seeing himself as a savior of sorts. I'm hoping this is an opportunity for her to see the horrible shit he does for the sake of the town and try and push him away from it. Her father was a slaveowner and her mother was one of the orc slaves. Izek shares the father, but he was only a baby when he and his mother were chased into the forest by his father's brothers and ended up in Barovia, so my barbarian knows much, much more about their shared father and the evil in his blood.
2. Vasili Von Holtz - In my campaign, Vasili is a wealthy man in Vallaki who looks and sounds like Strahd but 100% is not Strahd. A moment of levity in the style of the re-used villain asset NPC well known in older video games. But he has high influence and is used by Vargas to purchase soulless orphans from the orphanage and appease the hags with them, thereby keeping the population of worthless individuals low and keeping darker forces away. I plan to send my Druid, who loves kids, with him on a journey to the Orphanage of St Andral Bonus Content from the community here. My hope is that she will be very much interested after the continuous hooks I dropped them at the Hags in discovering the mystery of the orphanage and Vasili. Also, their fated ally is Arabelle who they recently rescued from Bluto before being captured by Izek. She managed to escape with a monster stealth check and I'll be having her in the Orphanage after she tried to get back into the city to help the party in Barovian clothing and was taken to the Orphanage.
3. Lucien - Lucien is a devout believer in the Morning Lord and fits into Vargas' design perfectly without him even needing to know what's going on. Lucien will be taking our Rogue to the Church where they will discuss the light of the morning lord and Lucien will reveal his concern about the missing bones. Millivoj will also be making an appearance as an utterly exhausted gravedigger and groundskeeper who has barely been able to accomplish a tenth of what he was just a few weeks ago.
4. Vargas - My Paladin is very new to being a Paladin having received the call like a week before entering Barovia. She used to work for the circus with a lot of abusive individuals who treated her like a monster who was only good for the freakshow. Vargas, being who he is, detected insecurity and power in her immediately and is going to bring her along with him for the day to try and corrupt her mind. They are both followers of the divine after all. He'll be briefing her on Lady Wachter before they go to have tea with her. He'll ask her opinions on festival planning being a prior member of a circus. Eventually, he will be bringing her to the Education Center (Renamed from the Reformation Center because fascism like words with positive connotations) where there will be an attempt to brainwash her.

What are your thoughts? Am I biting off more than I can chew? Do you think this sounds like a fun romp through Vallaki? There is still a whole other day after today before the festival, so there's plenty of time if they spend all day following the rules and don't try to meet up to do their own thing. Specifically on the Ryzen platform. I've not been able to find any info abouts these timings on overclocking guides, forums, etc. I want to know exactly what they do, and how to overclock them. I know that tRDWR is related to tCWL, in that if one is increased by 2 the other onw has to be decreased by 2 also. In my case, the following formula applies: tRDWR = tCL - tCWL + n, where n = 8 if the ram frequency is 3600 or lower, n = 9 if it's 4000 or higher, or n = 10 if it's 4800 or higher. So it seems it's directly related to frequency. Another thing I've noticed, is that tRDWR will be different on each memory channel, so for example 9/10. You can force them to be equal if tRDWR is manually set on BIOS. So, considering all of this, should a lower tCWL and higher tRDWR be used for the best performance? Or the other way around?

Each season seems to contain a miniature map of all five seasons. I will be making a separate post later explaining how Prairie's story in season 1 actually foreshadows all 5 seasons, but for this post I will be discussing the house on Nob Hill and how its 5 puzzles each match the 5 seasons.

The house on Nob Hill is based off of the designs of a woman, the tunnel that oa and karim travel through being symbolic for birth, making the entrance to the house akin to OA’s early life story, particularly with her and karim almost drowning just like she did on the bus.
The first trial involves finding the hidden staircase in a dark room to make it up to an opening near the ceiling.
The darkness represents the blindness that prairie had in her story back in season 1. While she has light to see here in the room, it is feeling around like a blind person that OA is able to find the staircase so she and Karim can get out.
This leads them to a room with a two sided staircase, that seems to lead to nowhere.
They discover that they can open a secret entrance however by solving a literal puzzle, this one with patterns like in a tree trunk.
This represents season 2, and the house that they are in itself. The house itself is a series of puzzles, and so a literal puzzle is what best represents it.
Season 2 was where we first started to get an idea of the multiverse, itself being a puzzle to what it actually is, making it the perfect image to puzzle together representing the season, with OA talking to the trees later in the episode.
After solving the tree puzzle, OA and Karim race to the new openings, going their separate ways.
This represents how OA gets separated from Karim at the end of the season, with OA making it to dimension 3, and Karim being left behind in dimension 2, with us getting the inverse here, Karim finding the third puzzle, and OA more so staying behind by leaving the house.

This third puzzle is just a room with a bed, upon which Karim has the same dream we saw at the season 2 premiere, where he is skateboarding down a dark road, and after seeing a glimpse of the OA, he falls off a cliff.
This dream happens almost exactly halfway through the episode, indicating its revelation is tied to the center of the series, which is of course season 3.
This seems to parallel the moment old night told OA would come in the next season, where OA would see her true self and realize who she really is, with Karim here remembering who he really was, before seemingly jumping to dimension 2.
With Karim waking up at halfway through the episode symbolizing how OA will wake up in dimension 3 and realize who she really is.
In dimension 3, OA is known to have her memories lost in the body of brit marling. As the third season it is the middle of the series.
The show appears to be a loop and palindrome, proven with the O in the OA representing the loop and the A representing how the first half mirrors the second half, as the A is symmetrical. The breaking open point in the A symbolizes a breaking open point in the middle of the series.
The A also represents a rise to the center, and then a descent.
In dimension 3, when OA realizes who she is, it will look like brit marling was a higher being who accidentally created dimensions 1 and 2, creating OA and giving her the tools to jump to dimension 3 into the body of the woman who plays her on TV.
However HAP, a great evil, also manages to escape this way, and thus the only way to stop hap would be to force him back into a fictional dimension, which means leaving this supposed real world of dimension 3, and going back down to a TV or movie dimension where HAP will lose his memories.
This is symbolized in the house on nob hill with Karim finding the secret entrance under the bed, and beginning her descent back into the lower levels of the house, the way OA begins to descend back to lower realities at the end of dimension 3, back into her fantasy dimensions, represented by karim going underneath the bed he just had his dream on.

The forth area Karim makes it two has two parts. The first part is not a puzzle, but just involves Karim crossing through dirt and darkness, with what looks like zombies coming out for him.
Karim is also a jesus figure, and I believe this is analogous to JEsus descent into hell after for 3 days, the first 3 puzzles representing those 3 days, and this strange hell like area leading karim to the puzzle that represents dimension 4: the mirror maze.
The show is not just a loop as i said, but a palindrome, which means the second half mirrors the first half. This symbolizes how dimension 4 will feel like a crazy mirror reflection of dimension 2, making it hard to navigate and understand what the original reality is and what this warped reflected reality will be.
Fola appears as an old woman in Karim's hallucinations, as it will be the end of the main story, with the characters reaching their spiritual maturity.
As a loop, the show of course has to go back to where it started, and thus season 5 would parallel season 1 by returning to the original dimension 1, but earlier in the timeline.

This is symbolized in the house on nob hill with the fifth puzzle. Karim makes it past the maze of mirrors to a dead end, where he finds a quote from TS Elliot that says :
"And the end of all our exploringWill be to arrive where we startedAnd know the place for the first time."
After this he realizes he can go back to where he first entered the house, and see the secret entrance to the rose stained glass window.
This symbolizes how OA will return to her time where she was haps captive. This will the the moment khatun gave her the dove, as this is the moment she starts calling herself the OA.
However, the version Prairie told us cannot be true, and instead, we will learn that the haptivces were just voices in prairies head. This will be a dramatic revelation for her, and even the base prairie she is integrating with, as until getting that dove, prairie was blind, and really probably thought that the Haptives were real.
Here in season 5, OA would feel like she was crazy, and that the last four seasons were just a delusion she had.
Its not until the end of the season when she makes it to the bridge that she would realize that her story was true to some degree, and that she can make the Haptives real in higher dimensions by having them jump into the bodies of people who inspired them the same way OA and HAP and others could jump into the actors who played them in dimension 3.
OA would realize all of this at the bridge because its the first moment in the loop she’d remember as actually happening.

Typology
Typology is a method of interpretating scripture. Typology itself is not a hermeneutic position but should always be responsibly paired with a hermeneutic approach. Typology has been a very controversial form of exegesis, as it is somewhat metaphorical and symbolic. Biblical typology is essentially to take the events and characters of the OT scriptures and understand how they are paralleled in the NT scriptures.
Types, Antitypes, and Archetypes
There are 3 words we need to consider: type, archetype, and antitype. "Type" is a common word we use every day. White, wheat, and rye are all types of bread. Bread would be the archetype. It is the overarching concept that all these are types of. An antitype is what the types ultimate fulfillment is, or the correspondence, or copy of the type. Take, for example, Joseph, the son of Jacob. He was lifted up to Pharaoh's throne and was given rule over Egypt. This is a "type." The OT event and figure is the example itself. The archetype in this case is about reign and authority. The antitype is when Jesus was lifted up to the throne of God in heaven and granted rule over the kingdom of God. By understanding the account of Joseph, we can recognize the patterns that we see played out in Jesus. Joseph was the son of Jacob, Israel. Jesus was a descendent of Israel. Joseph was a righteous man who was captured and taken by his own brothers. Jesus was captured and taken by his own fellow brothers, Israelites. Joseph was sold into slavery for money. Judas betrayed Jesus for silver. Joseph was placed in prison but was released to become king over all of Egypt. Jesus was raised from the dead and released to be glorified above all creation. Joseph was given a colourful robe by his father Jacob, Jesus was clothed with his Father's glory.
Why Typology is Important
Why is typology important? First, the NT writers themselves use typology, which validates this as a proper methodology for understanding and interpreting scripture. Jesus, Paul, Peter, John, the Hebrews writer, and Matthew all use typology. Second, it is a way to better understand Jesus himself and his roles. Third, it is one reason that we know Jesus truly fulfilled all scriptures. He is ultimately the antitype of every major character and event in the OT in one way or another.
Where does "Typology" come from?
"Typology" comes from the Greek word τύπος (tupos). Paul uses this word in 1 Corinthians 10:6: "Now these things have become types to us." Paul also uses this word in Romans 5:14, referencing Adam as a type of Christ. Peter uses the word ἀντίτυπος (antitupos) in 1 Peter 3:21 in reference to the flood and baptism. These two words are generally translated as something like: copy, pattern, example, or corresponding. The idea of a "type" and "antitype" is essentially that a type is an example, an antitype is the copy. Think of a stamp that makes an impression on a coin. There is a pattern etched into a machine, and it produces a copy when stamped on the coin.
Basic Rules of Typology
Typology must have textual warrant. Typology isn't simply to imagine a connection with no basis. It is very important that your approach to typology does not negate, override, or contradict your hermeneutic approach. I use the historical-grammatical method. When doing typological studies, the original intent and interpretation of the text can not be waved to force a typological comparison. Following up with this, typology is not allegory. In studying mythology, it is very common to take allegorical stories and apply them to archetypal symbols. Osiris, being the god of the underworld, is an allegory for the subconscious mind. The tunnels of Set are an allegory for the pathways of the brain. These are fictional stories that relate to greater types. Biblical typology is not to relegate the original type to mere allegory. These types are real events that occurred in history, and Jesus is a copy of those historical patterns. Biblical typology does not reduce the validity or credibility of those OT types. Typology should not be theologically motivated. John Chysostom has famously interpreted the killing of children 2 years of age and under as being a type for the Trinity. Unitarians and binitarians, asserting one or two, are to be killed or anathema. The story of Herod, he believes, is a type for the Trinity. Allowing systematic theology to influence a typological interpretation is not a proper way to understand types. Types must be independent of those systematic views and correspond to an archetypal pattern, not a theological agenda.
Typology is very controversial because it seems like it is so open to subjective interpretation. However, given that the NT writers use it as a basis and validate it as an approach, we must find a way to understand typology that is consistent with how they interpreted it through the text. Sometimes, these typological correspondences are explicit and clear. Other times, more obscure. Paul says that Jesus was risen up on the third day "according to the scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Yet, there's no OT prophecy regarding the Messiah, which states this. Paul is drawing this from typology and the consistent theme of the 3rd day in the OT. When we approach typology, we must approach it in the same way the apostles and NT writers themselves did, whether implicitly or explicitly. Typology can be a crucial tool in helping us to see the harmony of scripture, God's providence over the events of history, and inspiration of the scriptures by the harmony of the themes of the text.
Some direct examples of typology in the NT

Hebrews 9:23-25: Therefore it was necessary indeed for the representations of the things in the heavens to be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ has entered not into holy places made by hands, copies of the true ones, but into heaven itself, now to appear for us in the presence of God, nor that He should offer Himself repeatedly, just as the high priest enters into the holy places every year with the blood of another.

The Hebrews writer is comparing the type, which is the OT sacrifices in the temple, to the antitype, which is the sacrifice of Christ in heaven. He calls them, "representation of the things in heaven." The things on earth are shadows of the forms in heaven.

Colossians 2:16-17: Therefore let no one judge you in regard to food, or in regard to drink, or in regard to a feast, or a New Moon, or Sabbaths, which are a shadow the things coming. But the body is of Christ.

Paul states that these old covenant holy days were types, or "shadows," and Jesus is the antitype or substance of that shadow. For example, the Sabbath was a day of rest. But we now find our rest in Christ (Matthew 11:28-30).

John 3:14-15: And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

This is a call back to Numbers 21:4-9, where Israel spoke against God, and he released poisonous serpents on them. Moses made a bronze serpent on a tree, and those who were poisoned could look to the serpent and be healed. Jesus is stating that he is the antitype because in the same way, those of us dying from sin can look to him when he is nailed to a tree for our salvation.

1 Corinthians 10:9-11: We must not put Christ (or "the Lord" in some manuscripts) to the test, as some of them did and were destroyed by serpents, nor grumble, as some of them did and were destroyed by the Destroyer. Now, these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come.

Paul says that these are "examples" for us. He's speaking of the same event as John 3:14. The parallel here is that Israel tested God and were destroyed. Similarly, we should not test Christ. We should look to him for salvation.

1 Corinthians 10:1-4: For I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ.

Noting back to what was previously stated, Paul tells us specifically in verse 6 that these things are "types." He references Moses leading the nation of Israel through the Red Sea after the waters were parted. He says they were "baptized" in this way. Moses did not baptize them in the Red Sea in the same way John the Baptist baptized people in the Jordan River. Paul is making a comparison. Israel walked through water. They entered as slaves of Egypt, then exited as a free nation under their God. The Sea destroyed the Egyptian soldiers and Pharoah. Paul is comparing this to water baptism, in which we go in as sinners and come out purified. We go in as slaves to the law (those of us who are under the law), and we come out with the freedom found in Christ by being baptized into him. The reference to "the cloud" is a reference to the pillar of clouds that guided Israel. This is likely a typological reference to the clouds of Jesus' ascension and a reference to Spirit baptism. Paul references the food and drink that Israel received. This food and drink is a reference to the mana, the bread that God made to appear like dew on the ground as food for Israel in the wilderness, and the drink is a reference to the rock God opened through Moses to provide water for Israel. These are similar to the bread of the body of Christ that he speaks of in John 6 and the living water that cures thirst in John 4. Both of these are found in Christ. The purpose of this passage is not to say that Jesus was literally in the wilderness with Israel but that these events were recorded because when we read them, we should see the parallel. We are now God's chosen nation, the body of Christ, just as Israel was. We are in the wilderness, waiting to enter the promised land, that being the kingdom of heaven. We receive our food and water, our life source through Christ, just as Israel received from God through the mana and rock. Jesus is our spiritual rock.

1 Peter 3:20-21: Because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Similar to the "baptized in Moses" statement of Paul, Peter himself notes a typological reference between the flood of Noah and the baptism of water. In the same way that the flood cleansed the earth of sin and evil, and yet preserved the souls of those on the ark, also baptism washes away all sin from us and preserves the soul of the sinner. The earth was typologically "baptized."

John 6:32-33: Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

Jesus makes this parallel to being the antitype of the mana from heaven. In verse 51, we find that the bread that came down from heaven and gives life to the world is his flesh. His flesh is the new mana. The antitype.

2 Peter 2:6: If by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly.

Peter makes a few very quick passes at various OT shadows in the context here. But here, he uses the destruction and burning of Sodom and Gomorrah as a type, or "example," of what will happen to the ungodly in judgement. Destruction by fire. John uses this typology as well. Compare Revelation 14:11 with Isaiah 34:10.

Luke 11:29-32: When the crowds were increasing, he began to say, “This generation is an evil generation. It seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah. As Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here. The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.

Jesus makes two typological references here. The first is that of Jonah. Jonah was a prophet who was sent to warn Nineveh about God's judgement upon them, and Jonah was swallowed up by the fish and under the sea for 3 days. Jesus' antitypal fulfillment of this is to warn the world of God's coming judgement (Matthew 4:17) and to lay dead under the earth for 3 days. Jesus' second typological reference is that of Solomon. Solomon was the king of Israel granted unparalleled wisdom and glory, having the most wealthy empire of all time. Yet, Jesus is "something greater than Solomon." He "has become for us wisdom from God." Jesus has wisdom that surpasses Solomon, and his kingdom will be greater than Solomons, for Jesus reigns in heaven over all creation.

Matthew 1:23: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means God with us).

It is a very misunderstood passage, which is a typological reference as well. Matthew is not declaring that the prophecy of Isaiah 7:14 was fulfilled only when Jesus was born. Immanuel was a child during that time of Isaiah who would serve as a sign for king Ahaz. Matthew is making a typological reference. In the same way Immanuel was a child that served as a sign that God was with his people and had not abandoned them under king Ahaz 800 years prior, Jesus is now a sign to the nation of Israel that God has not left his people, even after 400 years of God's silence and sending no prophets. Jesus is regarded as the antitype of this OT event.
Indirect examples of Typology
These are just some examples of the more explicit references to typology in the NT. However, there are many implicit references. For example, Matthew's gospel as a whole is written in a way to show Jesus as the antitype of Moses. Jesus is the "greater Moses." Moses gave God's commandments from Mount Sinai. Jesus is portrayed as giving a new commandment from his sermon on the mount. Moses was a child born in Egypt under a period of genocide, and Moses barely survived. Similarly, Matthew is the only gospel writer (or even NT writer) who mentions the genocide or infanticide of Herod. Jesus was a baby whose life was in danger. The transfiguration of God's glory being shown through Jesus is a parallel to Moses when his face is shown with the reflection of God's glory. Paul makes reference to this comparison as well in 2 Corinthians 3. Hebrews 1:3 may also be a reference to this, "who is the radiance of his glory."
John's gospel has a common theme of typology implicitly as well. There are many indirect references to the old covenant in comparison to the new covenant. For example, in John 2, Jesus turns the water into wine. This is not just any water, this was specifically the hand washing water used for Jewish rituals as part of their scribal laws. Jesus turns this water into something new and refreshing as a symbolic way of showing the new covenant to the old. Jesus does the same in John 3 with the temple being God's house under the old covenant and the temple of his body in the new covenant, where God's presence resides. Jesus is the antitype of the Ark of the Covenant. In John 4, when speaking to the Samaritan woman at the well, he makes a comparison to the temple that their forefathers worshipped in, and the new worship "in spirit and truth." John's gospel also has a running theme of typological parallels between old creation and the new creation. God breathes breath/Spirit (same Hebrew word) into Adam, and he becomes a living soul (Genesis 2:7). Jesus breathes Spirit onto the apostles, and they become new creations (John 20:22, 2 Corinthians 5:17). God created the universe in 6 days, rested on the 7th, and said that it was finished (Genesis 2:2). When Jesus was on the cross, as he died, being laid to rest for 3 days in the ground, his final words were: "it is finished" (John 19:30). Also, John records Jesus' resurrection as being on "the first day of the week," meaning the beginning of a new week. The 8th day. Jesus is head of the new creation, and his resurrection on the new week symbolizes Jesus' beginning of a new creative week (John 20:1, Colossians 1:17-18).
The letter to the Hebrews is almost entirely a letter of typological comparisons. Jesus is the antitype of Melchizedek, being both king and high priest, he is the antitype of Aaron as the greater priest line, the antitype of old covenant and the sacrifices, the antitype of Moses, the Davidic kings, and more. This letter is written to show the superiority of Christ to those OT figures to show that they are the shadow of what is to come, and Christ is the substance that casts the shadow. The greater has been revealed in Christ, so do not fall back into the older, lesser things of the law.
Conclusion
There are many more examples of both implicit and explicit typology in the NT. There are also many typological parallels that are not mentioned directly or even indirectly by the NT authors, but we can see the pattern when reading the OT. A complete list of these types can be found in the forthcoming link. It is my belief that we will never find all of the types and antitypes between the testaments.
