0-4 = Unconscious child
4-10 = Conscious child
10-18 = Adolescent (child by legality)

They were born during the peak of the baby bust, years after Roe v. Wade, so there were many abortions and unwanted pregnancies going on during their birth period. They were born during the Ford administration but were mostly an unconscious child during the Carter administration and didn't become conscious until the time Ronald Reagan was running for president. Their unconscious childhood years took place during the late 1970's, when technology was advancing with the releases of the Apple II computer (1977ish), the first true home video game console: the Atari 2600 (1977), and the Walkman (1979). It also provided many popular movies such as Jaws (1976), the first two Star Wars movies in the original trilogy (1977-1980), and Grease (1978). The 1976 election, the summer '77 NYC blackouts, Jonestown massacre (1978), Iran hostage crisis (1979-1981), and the 1980 election occurred during that those years. Also, there were many cases of missing children in that time period, which would be the catalyst for things changing in the following years as the 80s emerged. They were unwanted babies (for the most part) during a crappy economy when the average-aged parents (most likely old Baby Boomers) were prolonging children because of the financial state of the US. That sounds firmly Generation X to me.

They were a conscious child throughout the 1980s, specifically the early-mid portion of the decade. Their first memory occurred around the 1980 election and John Lennon's assassination. They were children during a very transitional time in America, when the economy went into a recession before skyrocketing in the mid 80s, television took a turn to become more family-oriented and more focused on the well-being of children, with an improving kids television (since I consider the '70s to be the dark ages for kid cartoons, no offense to '70s kids) that would begin the 3 decade-long Golden Age period for child-centered cartoons and sitcoms (1980's, 1990's, and even the 2000's). A lot happened during their childhood as well. Things like Reagan being inaugurated (being children during the Reagan administration is impactful enough tbh), the early 80s recession and the end of stagflation, the 1983 video game crash, Grenada invasion, the 1984 election, the advent of WrestleMania, the Challenger explosion, and Chernobyl. Of course, a '76er got the best of Michael Jackson in their childhood (compared to my previous thread where the '68er got the best of Michael Jackson in their adolescence). They also probably spent a lot of time outside unsupervised (hence, a "latchkey kid"). This childhood experience sounds extremely Generation X to me, although particularly late-wave.

Their adolescence started with the Golden Age of hip hop that would occur well into the '90s. They pretty much experienced the best that rap had to offer in their adolescence. It was also around the time that New Wave was being taken over by hair metal, metal rock, glam metal, and New Jack Swing. Boy bands became more prominent in their adolescence compared to childhood (the only notable group was New Edition), with new boy bands like New Kids on the Block, Boys II Men, Take That, and a few others (although the boy band genre didn't truly break out until their young adulthood). Also, rap became mainstream once they entered high school with Vanilla Ice's hit Ice Ice Baby and MC Hammer's hit Can't Touch This. Their adolescence saw a different kind of Michael Jackson. A kind that became more global, more multi-tasked and creative (although his '80s hits were still the best of all time), much lighter (due to his vitiligo starting to really creep up after the Pepsi commercial incident), and much more child-centric (he opened up Neverland). Their adolescence saw events like the Fall of the Berlin Wall, truly ending the Cold War, despite the USSR collapse officially ending it, the Rodney King beatings followed by the LA riots (race wars were really prevalent back then like it is now), the WTC bombings, and of course the 1992 election that would be a huge change in generational powers (Boomers finally took control of the White House as the GI's passed the torch to their offspring generation). Video games experienced a boom during their adolescence after the video economy bounced back thanks to Nintendo. The NES, Sega Genesis, Gameboy, and eventually the SNES really helped bring video games to a new height. They would also be high school students during the peak of grunge (roughly 1991-1994, during their sophomore-senior years) so they would be huge fans (and probably the peak audience) of grunge and its culture. They would also be graduating seniors at the time of Kurt Cobain's death, ending the peak of grunge and also their adolescence as they come of age in a post-Cobain world. Very stereotypically Xer.

Their young adulthood saw the events of the OJ Simpson trial, the assassinations of both Tupac Shakur and Christopher Wallace (a.k.a. the Notorious B.I.G.), truly putting an end to the Golden Age of hip hop, the death of Princess Diana, the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the Columbine shooting, the Y2K bug followed by the Millennium celebrations, the actual turn of the millennium, the 2000 election, 9/11, the birth of TSA, beginning of the Afghan and Iraq wars, the establishment of Homeland security, the SARS pandemic, Hurricane Katrina, the Great Recession, the 2008 election, and ending with the H1N1 pandemic. They experienced a lot in their young adulthood. Not to mention that they were young adults during the biggest technological booms in history (although their adolescence had the birth of the World Wide Web and the Web 1.0 internet. Their young adulthood witnessed the rise of the internet at age 18/19 with the birth of Windows 95 that would help commercialize the internet worldwide, the birth of smartphones at age 30/31 with the release of the iPhone in 2007 which would change how humans interact with technology, and the takeover of digital technology. The internet really went from being a luxury to a necessity. Culturally, their young adulthood saw the peak of boy bands with the likes of *NSYNC (whom includes fellow '76 cohort JC Chasez), Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees (whom includes fellow '76 cohort Drew Lachey), Westlife, B2K, Hanson, Take That, O-Town, Blink-182 (if they count), etc. They also experienced the slow decline in quality of rap during their young adulthood from Dr. Dre in 1994 to Lil Wayne in 2010. They were no longer in their core prominence of providing entertainment for the youth anymore and were just the average adults. They are still currently in this life stage as they have yet to hit 50 (which they will by 2026) but a lot happened in this small time, like the culture wars in America, many political movements and school shootings (such as Sandy Hook and Parkland, which they heavily have to worry about since their kids were the main group of students for those events), the 2016 election, Trump impeachment, and the COVID-19 pandemic. There is not much to say about their average adulthood as it is ongoing but a lot has happened during that time. Their kids are also starting to grow up during this time so this is the period where they will start to feel "old".

Knockoffs are important (personal opinion)
I recently ordered Jinhao X750 and a Jinhao which is a copy of the Lamy Safari. There has been several posts where people talk about whether knockoffs should be there etc. My opinion is YES!
This Safari Copy taught me a lot. I knew I'd not like a triangular grip, but since SO MANY PEOPLE loved Safari, I was super tempted to try one, but "try" one for ~37USD seemed a bit too much, and I went for this 3.7USD alternative. Well, I didn't like it and am really thankful that I tried it out before getting the "real" one. So, a note to myself, always try before you buy.
But there's something more important that I learnt with this. It's not like I'll like ou dislike a pen as soon as I hold it. Why? Because I loved the Safari Copy when I unpacked it and held it, even wrote with it a bit. But it was only when I wrote for a page I realised that it was putting stress on my index finger because I tend to squeeze the grip due to the flat surface. In addition to that, I don't normally hold the pen where the design intends me to, I hold it a bit off (shown in second pic) and that was yet another point, I don't like a bulge close to the nib, where my finger goes. So this might strike off TWSBI ECO from my list and a few others as well.
So, final note, always try for a long time before you buy.

2023.06.09 20:00 giri0n Tundra 45 is my new favorite

Had a family trip planned to the Mammoth Lakes area of California for a while now. Since we were looking to feed about 9 people and bring enough food with us to do so on the 7ish hour trip from SoCal to Mammoth, I took the liberty of using my REI 20% off coupon and some dividend to pull the trigger on a Tundra 45. I wanted tan, wife wanted white, so we compromised and got....white. :)
I grabbed an extra basket and the divider as well, not so much for this trip but for future ones...the size was right for our first out-going kit: 2 count of 18 eggs, a half gallon of regular milk, a quart of oat milk, several packages of frozen sausage patties, and some condiments/jam/bread. Took some frozen butter and several vitamin C shots in the basket to keep them from getting wet. Used a couple Yeti ice thins in the bottom and then poured half bag of ice over the top.
On the way back, we had the leftovers, and added in: 10 cans of soda/sparkling waters, as well as 3 bottles of some leftover adult beverages. Same deal on the way back - Yeti ice at the bottom, and half bag of ice over the contents. Left Monday morning about 11am, and drove back to the house straight away. Last night (Thursday) decided it was time to pull the drinks out of the cooler which had been sitting on the kitchen floor for the last few days unopened. The ice was of course melted, but the water inside (as well as the cans/bottles) were still cold enough for me to pull out and have a cold one.
Its big enough to hold enough food/drinks, but not too big or heavy for me to carry solo (even semi-full) and with the rope handles 2 person carry is a cinch. I have the Hopper Flip 12 and the Tundra Haul and have loved them both, but this new T45 is the sweet spot and something I can see us using for years to come on camping trips, to the beach, or with the dudes on our next trip up to SF coming in a few weeks. Never had the feeling of "I made the right purchase" as I did after using the T45 this weekend.

Dr. Gerard F. Judd, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus, Chemistry, stated that 30% of American youths ages 8-10 have no cavities, and 100% of Ugandan youths ages 6-10 have no cavities. Ugandan youths have 3 times better teeth because they do not consume processed acidic foods, have no fluoride in their drinking water, have regular meals rather than sipping acidic drinks all day, such as soda pops, have more calcium and phosphate in their diet, and have fewer dentists to cause more damage to teeth. However, dietary causes are only part of the picture. Industrial chemicals cause most decay.
What are other acidic compounds that damage teeth, causing tooth decay? Tooth cavities are caused by abrasive unnatural acids and gum secretions composed of heavy metals and combinations of industrially produced byproducts and toxins. We absorb industrially produced byproducts and toxins, including heavy metals from our air, water, food and medication. Many of those toxins are absorbed from medication, food additives and preservatives, pesticides, herbicides, industrially produced fertilizers in food, and cleaning compounds. Cooking causes free-radicals. Cooking destroys the natural bonds of bio-active organic vitamins, enzymes, minerals and other nutrients that help to grow plant and animal tissues. The destruction of those bonds releases the metallic minerals as free-radicals. Free-radicals often cause severe cellular destruction, mutation, and cellular death.
Our teeth are very affected because of their proximity to our brains. Our brains and nervous systems use large amounts of metallic minerals to transmit and relay electricity and light for neurological functions. Consequently, the brain and nervous system contain very large quantities of metallic minerals. Since we live in a polluted environment and eat cooked food, our brains and nervous systems contain very large quantities of destructive free-radical heavy metals and chemicals that magnetize to those metals. Our bodies try to discard (detoxify) those compounds that are stored in the brain and head mainly through gums, tongue and salivary secretions.
One of those toxins, fluoride, is hailed as preventing tooth decay. There is much misinformation about fluoride. Fluoride is harmful not only to teeth but the entire body. It has been linked with 114 ailments. The mechanism for destruction of enzymes by fluoride has been proved by x-ray studies showing that hydrogen bonds are broken by fluoride. Also, fluoride is a neuro-toxin. Dr. Judd stated that if the forecast of 80% dental improvements with the use of fluoride were true, by age 13 each American would have only one cavity. However, dental literature stated that Americans aged 7 average 13 cavities, 25% of Americans over 43 have no natural teeth and the rest average 32 cavities, and 42% of Americans over 65 have no natural teeth and all of the rest have cavities in all remaining teeth.
Fluoride is the smallest negative particle on Earth. Fluoride particles are so small and intensely negative, they interfere with the hydrogen bonds that hold enzyme coils in place. Fluoride particles destroy enzyme molecules at very low concentrations, around 1-3 parts per million. Those enzymes are often 3,000 or more times smaller than fluoride. The effect is ruinous, destroying at least 83 enzymes.1
Our bodies are always trying to counter the damage that we do to them. Most often, our bodies utilize great quantities of calcium and other minerals to absorb and neutralize the abrasiveness of toxic compounds mentioned above. When those compounds combine with calcium and other minerals, the combination too often dries and adheres to our teeth. That is called plaque. If the calcium and other minerals do not completely neutralize those abrasive compounds, the plaque will damage enamel on our teeth. Once dentine is compromised, often cavities result.
Plaque-prevention also prevents gum pockets. Gum pockets form as the caustic chemicals in plaque that irritate and inflame gums, push the gums away from the teeth. Tooth pastes that contain fluoride damage protein molecules that normally adhere gums to teeth. Fluoride interferes with the enzyme adenosine diphosphatase that normally delivers phosphate to calcium on teeth surfaces. Drinking water with fluoride added causes the same problems.
The medical establishment disseminates scientifically incorrect information about dental health, stating that bacteria causes tooth decay. Bacteria cannot damage the enamel (calcium hydroxy phosphate) and never cause tooth decay. Bacterial decay of the enamel is impossible because bacteria require carbon and hydrogen to live. Myriads of animal remains show that teeth and bones are resistant to earth-bound organisms. As I stated above, tooth decay is caused by toxins in our food, environment, medicine, cosmetics, chemicals and bad diets. Likewise, our increasing inability to restore severely compromised enamel (cavities) is the result of our extremely toxic food supply, environment, medicines, cosmetics, chemicals, and diets. If our bodies are healthy enough and we feed them properly, our bodies will generate bacteria to consume damaged dentine and sub-dentine cells. Bacteria act as janitors and consume the damaged tooth cells so that our bodies can replace them with healthy dental cells. Remedies for preventing and reversing tooth decay and gum pockets are stated at the end of this article.
We would not have cavities if we ate properly and rinsed toxic acids from our teeth regularly. Even rinsing the mouth with a little milk or other liquid after eating could help. Toothpastes all contain glycerin that coats teeth with a sticky film that takes approximately 25 washes to remove it. That film prevents teeth from re-enamelizing. Consuming food high in calcium and phosphate, such as milk, increases the probability of re-enamelization of teeth, but only when they are clean.
We cannot stop the flow of caustic toxins that are detoxified from our brains through our mouths but we can prevent caustic plaque from adhering to and damaging our teeth. We should regularly brush and rinse abrasive compounds that adhere to our teeth as plaque. Often, it takes about 72 hours only for those compounds to harm our dental cells. Brushing our teeth thoroughly at least once ever 3 days prevents caustically acidic plaque that causes cavities. Where toothbrushes do not reach deep in our gum pockets, we should rinse with a dental water-pick, removing the minerals and toxic compounds from gum pockets where minerals begin to dry and adhere to our teeth, becoming plaque.
A water-pick mixture of 1 tablespoon each of raw apple cider vinegar, lemon and coconut cream strained through a thoroughly rinsed, clean and damp white t-shirt stirred into a naturally sparkling mineral water, such as Gerolsteiner and San Pelligrino, and jettisoned on to teeth and under our gums helps remove fresh plaque. Plaque usually becomes difficult to remove after 3-7 days. Therefore, it would be wise to water-pick with that mixture once every 3-7 days. Experiment and see how long plaque takes to dry solidly and adhere to your teeth to the point where brushing followed by water-picking does not remove the plaque.
Strengthening our teeth and gums is easily done by consuming 1-1.5 tablespoons of no-salt-added raw cheese with 1 teaspoon unheated honey twice daily. That combination should be mixed together in the mouth. That mixture should be eaten at least 15 minutes from other foods. It is more effective after a meat meal but it is effective whenever we eat it. Eating 2 tablespoons of pineapple with 2 tablespoons no-salt-added cheeses twice weekly helps knit the gums back to the teeth.

Apologies for getting this out extremely late, real life hasn't been too kind in my free time. But now that I have some more once again let me finish off this trilogy of guides once and for all! This will be the finale so if you want to see how to beat all the Aqours songs instead or want more context on why I'm doing this, I'll be linking Part 2 and Part 1 here respectively.
With that out of the way...let's begin. Starting off with Love U my friends.

Ah, this song. Let's look at the base gimmicks now shall we...
[Show Specialty] During the Live Show, base appeal of Non-Natural attribute school idols will fall by 50%
and
[Show Specialty] During the Live Show, base skill Activation Rate of non-Natural school idols will fall by 50%
Just like Jingle Bells ga Tomaranai, do not bring anything but natural-attribute URs into this song(unless they are the appeal boosters). But unlike that pure-attribute abomination, this one is significantly easier. Will still be very rough if you lack strong natural frontliners however. The main things to watch out for in this song are those 80% stamina dmg notes that pierces through shields. Those will hurt a lot if you face-tank them, luckily there's a way to deal with them that doesn't involve too much RNG. Those being DR on swap LSAs.
The first one shows up quite early, on note #16 to be exact. If you have Fes2 Hanayo(Natural GD), she'll make this song much easier to deal with. All you will have to do is either swap into your blue strategy(of GD-type healers) and tank it before swapping back after, or just start the song in your GD-side strategy and then swap to your frontline then. No worries if you do not have her, try to look for one as the guest assist in that case. She will also work just fine here despite the 30 note cooldown because all the 80% max health piercing notes are spread very far apart.
Not much to say about AC#1(Gain a total of 1,298,000 Voltage) and AC#2(Gain a total of 2,465,000 Voltage). They're pretty standard voltage ACs, the first one boosts all SP-type skill activation and the second one boosts all SK-type skill activation. Relying on those buffs will not be mandatory though so no need to stress over these(and the other voltage ACs in this song tbh).
AC#3(Maintain 80% or more of your Stamina). I hope you were very healthy after eating that first 80% note in the beginning because you do not want to swap back into the GD side-strat for this AC. If you didn't pass it either spend more time healing back at the start of the song or reset for better frontline healing RNG. The reason you do not want to swap back into the GD side-strat too early is because of the upcoming 2nd 80% piercing note. If you waste Fes2 Hanayo's swap on DR LSA it's gonna make eating this note very painful. Otherwise it comes right before AC#4 begins. So swap into your side-strat, and immediately swap back to green strat because...
AC#4(Gain a total of 801,000 Voltage with SP Skills). Oh boy this appeal chance. I hope your frontline has at least one SP-type UR because otherwise you're going to fail this AC. It demands over 800,000 voltage...and you only get 23 notes to pass it. There is not enough time for three SP-skills so you better two-shot it. At least it buffs both SP-type fill rates and skill activation, on top of adding a single trick note that fills the SP gauge by 10%.
AC#5(Maintain 80% or more of your stamina). If you need to swap back into the GD side-strat to pass this AC that's fine. The 3rd 80% piercing note doesn't come for a long time so you can heal back up if your frontline wasn't able to keep you green during the AC#4. AC#6(Gain a total of 2,074,000 Voltage) is just another standard voltage AC so not much to talk about.
AC#7(Gain a total of 400,000 Voltage with SP Skills). If you passed the 800k SP AC this one is much easier, so no need to sweat. It's shorter but it's also significantly smaller of a bar to pass so you should likely be fine. AC#8(Gain a total of 1,560,000 Voltage) is the final standard voltage AC, not much else to say. However after it's over be prepared to swap into the GD side-strat one last time because the 3rd and final 80% piercing note arrives.
AC#9(Maintain 90% or more of your Stamina). Either stay in your GD-side strat to heal back up or swap back to your frontline after eating the 3rd 80% piercing note. It'll be a gamble but either way, pray your healers are strong enough so you can pass this very last appeal chance.

-Fes3 Yoshiko: Best Natural frontliner in the entire game. Extremely good here. -Party Karin: Yoshiko but slightly lower stats. Still extremely good here. -Fes3 Nico: Solid filler, will help towards passing the voltage and SP ACs. -Fes2 Dia: Nico except she comes with SP-Overcharge instead. Really helpful for that 4th AC where you need 801,000 voltage from SP-skills. -Fes3 Nozomi: Solid frontliner in general for this song. -Fes2 Hanamaru: Same as Nozomi -Fes2 Rin: Same as Nozomi -Fes1 Mia: You don't really need SP-skill voltage boosters in this song but this UR can probably help pass AC#4 if she's paired with an actual SP-filler. -Party Eli: Best natural healer in the entire game. The strongest frontline you can ask for if you're gonna be frontlining a sustain this song. Extremely good here. -Dream Kanata: Weaker version of Eli but most likely can work as well. -Fes2 Hanayo: The best GD for this song period, there is no one that can replace her in the side-strat. Is the song doable without her though? Yes, but it'll be much rougher. -Vampire Riko: The UR designed specifically for this song. Heals on tap skill and can also simultaneously shield with her LSA. Really good here. -Fes1 Hanamaru: Riko but reversed. She primarily shields and has a chance to heal on her own taps. Not as good as Riko but can be used. -Summer Nozomi: Solid natural healer. -Cheer Lanzhu: Same as Nozomi. -Sakura Dia: Healers are better than shielders here but at least this Dia can give you three free shields at the beginning of the song which is nice.
Honorable Mentions: -Fes4 Hanamaru(Natural SK): Was released after I had already finished with this section of the guide, but will be an amazing frontliner here.

-Red strategy(appeal boosters): Standard appeal boosters, the higher the tech the better so your SP-skill will hit very hard. Two belts is more than enough, when I beat this song my 3rd one was only LB1. s(group) insights go here. -Green strategy(GD side-strat): Not much to say, best natural GD-healers go here. I didn't have a 3rd one at the time so I used this Dia instead. I started the song in this side-strat only because swapping twice for the 1st 80% note was pretty annoying. s(group) insights go here. 3 necklaces go here. -Blue strategy(frontline): Yes that is indeed a LB0 Fes2 Ruby and Fes2 Dia, only my Party Eli was MLB in the frontline. This song gives so much voltage if you can pass all the ACs so super strong frontliners weren't 100% necessary from what I saw. Ruby and Eli also didn't have board 100 at the time either. Same strategy/attribute insights go here. Brooch + double bangles is recommended.
For the guest it's highly recommended to borrow Fes2 Hanayo if you don't have her. If you do have her though then any other appeal booster like Thanksgiving Mia can work just fine.
Bond Boards: -For the appeal boosters higher is better, but board 35 for level 84 URs will be the bare minimum. -For the frontline get at least board 50 for the 10% attribute match. -For the GD side-strat anything past board 35 is nice but not mandatory.
This song overall would probably be like a high 6, maybe even a 7/10 on the difficulty scale depending on your roster of natural-attribute cards. For me personally it's like a 4/10. Borrowing a Fes2 Hanayo guest as well just made it so the 80% piercing notes did next to no dmg whenever I swapped into the GD side-strat. Frontline Party Eli also meant healing wasn't an issue whatsoever. I have seen the nightmare this song can be for the people that lacked one or even both of those URs however.

Cheesing Love U my friends

Do you have Natural healers? If you answered no then skip right ahead to the next section because otherwise you'll likely just die. Borrow a Fes2 Hanayo for the guest, as her DR on swap LSA actually matters a lot here.
-Red strategy: Any 3 URs sorted by highest stamina, you won't be tapping with these. 3 necklaces go here but can be replaced by bracelets. -Green strategy: Your 3 best natural sustain go here. It's fine to run one or even two shielders if you're lacking healers, but you will want at least one. 3 necklaces go here but can be replaced by brooches. -Blue strategy: Any 3 SK-type URs. You don't want to be staying for very long here. Can use 3 GD-types if those 80% stamina notes are really giving you some issues though. 3 necklaces go here.
Swap into blue whenever you're about to tap on those stamina-piercing trick notes. Immediately swap to green asap. Face-tank everything else otherwise.

Nijiiro Passions(Cool-attribute)

Oh...this song. If you don't have Party Shioriko, Fes3 Ai, or Christmas Lanzhu I'd recommend just skipping over to the next section to be honest*. The reason being because this song passively reduces the base appeal of all non-Cool attribute cards by 50%. There are a decent amount of 30k notes as well but those are the least of your concerns when this song has very large SP ACs that boost specifically Nijigasaki skill activation only. How large exactly? Well...
-AC#1(Gain a total of 662,000 Voltage with SP skills). Starts immediately upon song start and you only have 30 notes to two-shot this thing.
-AC#2(Gain a total of 457,000 Voltage with SP skills). Only lasts 7 notes so you need to one-shot it.
-AC#5(Gain a total of 1,133,000 Voltage with SP skills). You get 33 notes for this AC, but at least there's time to get three SP skills off in here if you had saved one to use at the very start.
-AC#6(Gain a total of 381,000 Voltage with SP skills). Only 6 notes long but if you can pass the others before this you can one-shot this one as well.
-AC#9(Gain a total of 471,000 Voltage with SP skills). Only lasts 6 notes as well so you need to one-shot this one too.
*Edit: Fes4 Ayumu(Cool SP) came out after I had already finished writing this section. She’s easily the best frontliner here if you can use her.
The pool of strong Cool-attribute fillers is very small. How small exactly? Let me show you with these recommended URs...

-Fes3 Ai: The best cool filler in the entire game, and will remain that way by the looks of it. Extremely good here. -Party Shioriko: The second best cool filler in the entire game. Extremely good here. -Christmas Lanzhu: Good thing the ACs boost all Nijigasaki skill activation because this card isn't a SP-type. 11% chance to fill is really unfortunate but at least her LSA and those Niji buffs will help remedy it. -Spotlight Ruby: This over two year old card is unironically...our third best cool filler in the entire game as of me typing this. However she won't be receiving the Niji buffs so it'll be much more RNG compared to the two best options. -Fes2 Chika: Lanzhu but is a limited UR and also doesn't receive the Niji buffs. Will be extremely RNG, even more than Ruby. -Fes2 Nozomi: Pair her with either of the two best fillers and you can do just fine. Not an ideal choice here but at least she's cool-attribute. -Fes1 Karin: Nozomi except much weaker. At least she'll be receiving those Niji buffs unlike her though. -New Year Yoshiko: The best cool healer right now. Won't need those Niji buffs to keep you alive as long as she doesn't sleep too hard. -Fes3 Kasumi: She might be losing 50% of her appeal because she isn't cool-attribute, but with those Niji buffs and her 2022 stats she's still more than strong enough to be frontlined here. -Fes1 Mari: Yoshiko but weaker. -Fes1 Shizuku: If she's MLB she can be frontlined here with ideally little to no issues. -New Year Emma: Can go in a side strategy to help you pass those skill activation ACs. -White Day Rina: Same as Emma. -Knitting Setsuna: Same as Emma.
Honorable mentions: -Fes3 Kanata(Cool VO): Like Fes2 Nozomi, if you pair her with one of the two best fillers she can be frontlined here. -New Year Ayumu(Cool VO): Same as Kanata. -Moonlit Umi(Cool VO): Same as Kanata

-Red strategy(appeal boosters): Highest technique appeal boosters go here, those belts need to make your SP skill hit super hard. I needed at least one bracelet in this clear so that's why instead of putting 3 belts here I moved the 3rd one to the frontline instead. s(group) insights go here. -Green strategy(frontline): Pulling Fes3 Ai off a reroll banner a very long time ago was really lucky, she's by far the best UR for this song. It meant I could pair her with Fes2 Nozomi and two-shot all the super large SP ACs(except for the 1st one which I just failed on purpose). Same strategy/attribute insights go here. -Blue strategy(GD side-strat): Those 30k dmg notes both come in triplets before the skill ACs starts so I needed healers to bring me back to green stamina. Luckily the song boosts Niji skill activation so they didn't necessarily need to be cool-attribute. s(group) insights go here.
For the guest I recommend borrowing SP-Overcharge if you don't have Fes3 Ai who comes with her own. If you are using her then any standard appeal booster like Fes3 Dia or Party Nozomi will work too.
Bond Boards: -For the appeal boosters get it as high as you can. Board 35 for level 84 URs should be the bare minimum though. -For the frontline get them to board 50 for the 10% attribute match bonus at least. -For the GD side-strat anything past board 35 will be nice but not necessary.
Actual difficulty-wise this song would be like 3 or a 4/10. I'm giving it an 8/10 simply because your options of good URs for this song are extremely small. Unfortunately if you lack one of two good URs for this song, better hope you have that Lanzhu UR MLB or I'd recommend just skipping over this song to save the sanity that'd be spent resetting for RNG again and again.

I'd personally recommend 2 shielders and a healer but I've cheesed this song with 3 shielders in the past before. 3 necklaces or brooches go here. -Blue strategy: Any three URs sorted by highest stamina. Three necklaces go here.
Stay in green and just face-tank everything, that's all you have to do.

Neo Sky Neo Map(Active-attribute)

Oh boy...this song. If you don't have at least 3 MLB Nijigasaki VO cards I'd recommend just skipping onto the next section. First off you’ll be dealing with this base gimmick of the song:
[Show Specialty] During the Live show, base Appeal will be reduced by 50% for all school idols not members of Nijigasaki.
So don't bring anyone but Niji girls then? Well not exactly, if the girls are both active-attribute and are VO-typing they might be usable despite the appeal loss but you'll have a much rougher time. The bigger emphasis for team-building will be that the frontline mainly consists of VO-type cards.
Why the need for VOs specifically? This song heavily...and I do mean HEAVILY buffs them to the stars above. Also, if you want to S-rank this song then playing on manual is going to be next to mandatory. From here on out I'll only be going over how to S-rank this song on manual. The difference between the two ways of playing is massive and even that in itself is an understatement. To get a small glimpse on what you'd need, I don't recommend trying to use autoplay unless you have 6 MLB Nijigasaki VO cards.
This is the team we'll be using: -Red strategy: Appeal boosters, preferably VOs. -Green strategy: 3 MLB VOs. Non-Niji ones can be used but I would not recommend trying with more than one. Non-Active Niji VOs will work just fine though. -Blue strategy: 2 shielders and a healer. They all need to be active-attribute to take advantage of the massive skill activation buffs you'll be receiving later.
These are the appeal chances and how you tackle each one:
-AC#1(Gain a total of 237,000 Voltage): You're supposed to use VO cards that give a percentage of their own appeal upon skill activation to clear this AC. If you fail it just try again because it is slightly RNG. It is possible to pass this with only 2 VOs that do this while having the 3rd one boost all voltage gained with their tap skill instead, however it will be much more RNG.
-AC#2(Gain a total of 2,194,000 Voltage): Just fail this AC on purpose, it's not worth trying to pass it. This is because during the AC you'll be constantly barraged with 30k dmg trick notes again and again. After passing AC#1, swap to your blue strategy immediately and just start building up those shields. With all the skill activation buffs you'll be receiving you'll just barrel through all those 30k notes and the AC failure dmg. If you swap at any point you'll lose the skill activation buffs and you're going to have a much rougher time trying to pass the next AC. Speaking of...
-AC#3(Maintain 100% or more of your Stamina): By the time you enter this AC you should have a pretty sizable shield built up. This is why two shielders is recommended, because there is zero room for error here. Once you pass this AC swap back to your green strategy, and you'll notice that your SP gauge is starting to fill really quickly. That's because of the buff obtained from passing the 3rd AC, save your SP skill though because you'll need it for...
-AC#4(Gain a total of 2,952,000 Voltage): This AC will nerf all tap voltage to zero like AC#1, but there's no possibility of gaining that much voltage off tap skills alone so you'll want to save your SP skill for the very start of the AC and then use it again asap to clear this AC. That way you cleanse the debuff and can start scoring again. Once you pass this AC swap to your blue strategy and then swap back to green asap. This is to cleanse all the SP-gauge gain debuff trick notes you just barreled through. Then...comes the roughest part of this song.
-AC#5(Gain a total of 3,764,000 Voltage): This AC has four of those -50% voltage gain reducing trick notes if you tap on them. Key word being if you tap on them. This is why manual is required, you need to purposefully miss every single one because then it allows you to keep tapping with your green strategy. If you can pass this AC while dodging all those trick notes, you're on the home stretch towards beating this song.
-AC#6(Gain a total of 4,096,000 Voltage): Our first "regular" AC. Nothing too special about it, ignore the buff to GD-types and continue tapping with your green strategy.
-AC#7(Maintain 100% or more of your Stamina): Also why two shielders is recommended. Your shields should not have broken by this point, so if you still have some left you can simply continue tapping with your green strategy. There's a single -50% voltage gain debuff trick note, but it's easy to avoid. Technically you only lose the VO-type appeal buff(from AC#5) if you swap more than 3 times so you could swap back into your shielding strat to pass this if you need a couple more shields, but I recommend just staying in your frontline if you can by this point in the song.
-AC#8(Gain a total of 10,007,000 Voltage): Oh boy that's a lot of voltage needed. Luckily if you passed AC#7 you will currently temporarily be able to spam the SP-skill which'll help towards passing this beast. The final four -50% voltage gain debuff trick notes are in this AC, they're much easier to avoid compared to AC#5 so just focus on tapping everything else. This AC also gives a massive boost to your appeal based on the number of Voltage types in your team, which is why it's recommended for your appeal boosters to also be VOs.
By the time you enter AC#8 you should have around ~39 million voltage. You will indeed get the other 12+ million voltage needed off this AC alone, it's crazy good. If you made it to the end after dodging all those trick notes I hoped you scored enough for S-rank!

Extremely good here. -Cheer Ai: The non-limited UR released for this song specifically. Pretty good here. -Fes1 Setsuna: Despite being well over 3 years old if you have her MLB already she is actually really good here. -Fes2 Ayumu: Probably the single best non-Active Niji frontliner for this song. -Fes3 Setsuna: Her tap skill isn't ideal for AC#1 but otherwise she's extremely good here. -Fes3 Dia: Probably the best non-Niji Active frontliner you can use here. -Fes1 Kanan: Dia but much weaker. -Jewelry Ai: Probably one of the best, if not the best shielder for this song. Extremely good here. -Fes2 Eli: Same as Ai. -Snow Mia: Thick shields will allow you to stay in your frontline for longer. -Fes1 Rina: Same as Mia. -Chinese Maid Rin: Mia but much weaker. -Initial Ruby: Mia but much weaker. -Around the World Kasumi: Solid choice of a healer here. -Sweets Deco Ayumu: Same as Kasumi.
Honorable Mentions: -Fes3 Shioriko(Elegant VO): Pretty good here -Party Mia(Elegant VO): Same as Shioriko -Fes2 Shizuku(Elegant VO): Same as Shioriko -Easter Shizuku(Active GD): DRs GDs aren't ideal vs. a 2nd shielder...but they can work if your other two defenders are strong enough.

Choker + both bangles is recommended because even without extremely good boards it's super easy to tap for 300k+ each during the final AC. -Blue strategy(shieldehealing side-strat): I did not have any of the good active defenders when I S-ranked this song so I was forced to limit break these super old URs instead. Ideally they all have s(group) insights. 3 necklaces go here.
For the guest just borrow any standard appeal booster like Thanksgiving Mia, Party Nozomi, etc.
Bond Boards: -For the appeal boosters anything past board 35 for level 84 URs will be nice but not necessary. -For the frontline I strongly recommend board 50 for the 10% attribute match bonus minimum. If they are non-Active or even non-Niji URs, then I recommend getting it as high as possible. -For the shielding/healing side-strat anything past board 35 will be a nice little bonus.
This song is an easy 10/10 on the difficulty scale. Requires super specific URs, your frontline + side strategy of shielders/healers need to be pretty much MLB, and to top it all off purposefully missing some notes is clearly not intended by the developers but trying to play the song normally will just turn this behemoth into an even bigger of a headache to play.

Cheesing Neo Sky Neo Map

It's relatively simple to do.
-Red strategy: Any three URs sorted by highest stamina. Three necklaces go here but can be replaced by bracelets. -Green strategy: Three active-attribute shielders or healers. They do not need to be GD-type, but you do want them to be active at least so they can take advantage of all those skill-activation buffs. Either 3 necklaces or brooches go here. -Blue strategy: Any three URs sorted by highest stamina. Three necklaces go here.
Just sit in the green strategy for the entire song and eat all the AC failures. If you are going to be using GD-types however, you will need to cleanse the -100% skill activation debuff for GD-types. After AC#5 is over just switch into either side-strategy after eating that trick note and then swap back to green.

Love the Life We Live(Pure-attribute)

Where...do I even begin with possibly the worst Challenge song in the entire game? First off I strongly recommend just ignoring this song altogether. While there isn’t a massive debuff to appeal for non-pure cards you will be dealing with these two gimmicks for the entire song:
[Show Specialty] During the live shows, the activation rate of SP-type basic skills is reduced by 50%
and
[Show Specialty] During the Live show, base Appeal will be reduced by 25% for all school idols not members of Nijigasaki.
So don't bring SP-types and bring only Niji units? Not necessarily, you will see later that despite not being able to use any skills SP-types are far and away still the best choice for frontliners here. As for the non-Niji debuff it's only -25% so you'd still be able to use girls from the other schools...assuming they have a mega strong bond board. While there are no 100k dmg notes, shield-piercing max health notes, or even a massive -50% appeal debuff to non-pure cards...there is just one tiny little category of trick notes. That single one turns this song from challenging...to a complete and utter nightmare.
Trick Notes: 100% Voltage reduction(Decreases voltage gained by all cards for 15 notes. Always activates.
Well that doesn't seem so bad at first glance right? The real problem lies in the number of them...NINE OF THEM...and THEY APPEAR IN EVERY ALMOST EVERY SINGLE APPEAL CHANCE. How do you deal with these then since neither swapping into another side strategy nor avoiding them like in Neo Sky Neo Map works? Well, do you remember your little old friend called cleansers? These are all the ones in-game if it helps jog your memory.
You will have to win the 20-30% chance on swap(depending on the card), or the 50% chance on SP-skill, for ALL NINE OF THOSE TRICK NOTES. Though technically only 7 of them if you do run a cleanse on SP card, since there's no physical way to get your SP-skill in time for the first two -100% voltage notes. If you do use those however you'll still need a second cleanser that activates on swap because getting rid of the first two trick notes is mandatory. The sad thing is it's not like passing the voltage ACs is any easy either if you do successfully cleanse those awful trick notes. All the voltage ACs require over 100k taps on average to clear them, so you will need not only strong cards but also ones with really good bond boards.
You'll also want them to be SP or SK-types preferably as well. All the ACs except the stamina ones give a massive 200% appeal boost to those types upon AC success, so despite SP-types being unable to use any skills in this song they're easily the best choice for the frontline here. Unfortunately you lose the massive -200% appeal buff the second you do any strategy switching so you'll want to take advantage of them for as long as possible. That may or may not be a little hard to do however since...
To add insult to injury, there are 30k dmg notes that appear before every single stamina AC begins and while inside of them they'll also increase the dmg taken by 700%. You will need a side strategy to DR this dmg or your stamina will just fall apart.
Luckily there isn't much to say about AC#5(Gain a total of 478,000 Voltage with SP skills). It only lasts 7 notes long so you better one-shot it or you'll eat an unnecessary 28k dmg.

-Fes4 Rina: Really good stats, is part of Nijigasaki, and SP-type. Comes with SP-Overcharge too so you might not even need a second belt to pass the 5th AC depending on how strong your frontline is. Extremely good here. -Fes3 Karin: With a 200% appeal buff she should be tapping extremely hard after passing the ACs. Extremely good here. -Fes2 Rina: Fes4 Rina except with smaller stats. Still a pretty good choice here. -Fes1 Kasumi: Same as Fes2 Rina, only with even smaller stats. -Party Nozomi: She might not be Niji but the appeal debuff is only -25% so you could probably make her work here with really good boards. -Fes3 Riko: Same as Nozomi -Fes3 Chika: Same as Nozomi. -Christmas Dia: Same as Nozomi. -Party Honoka: One of the few frontline sustains you could probably use here. -Halloween Umi: Honoka but instead shields and is much weaker. -Fes3 Eli: Still our strongest Pure healer in terms of raw stats. -Jewelry Kotori: Pretty comparable to Eli, if you have her MLB she can work just fine too. -Initial Riko: DR lasts for a long time and comes with the ability to cleanse. Extremely good here. -Carnival Dia: Pretty solid choice of a DR here. -Wonderland Kasumi: Same as Dia -Halloween Ruby: Appeal boosting passives are pretty hard to find on GD-types, probably a decent choice here.
Honorable mentions: -Party Shizuku(Smile SK): She might not be pure-attribute but she’s still far and away your best possible choice of a frontline defender for this song. -Fes3 Kasumi(Elegant SP): She might not shield a single time in this song but she still has the recent high af base stats and will be receiving that massive 200% appeal buff upon passing ACs. -Fes2 Ayumu(Pure VO): Will not be receiving the 200% appeal buffs being a VO-type but she’s still usable if your other two frontliners can take advantage of those buffs instead.

-Red strategy(appeal boosters): Your best ones go here. M(Group) insights are highly preferred on them, but s(group) might be fine depending on your frontline. Fes3 Rina is on same school insights though. I was able to get away with only one belt in the past, but for this one that actually S-ranks the song I needed two of them. 2 necklaces because this song does a lot of dmg. -Green strategy(frontline): I've experimented with a lot of cards, ultimately using ones that were both Niji and also SP/SK-types tended to have the best results. They were all on same strategy insights, but same attribute also works if your frontline is mono-pure. Needed a second belt to pass AC#5, otherwise brooch + double bangles will be good. -Blue strategy(GD side-strat): The recommended strategy uses double cleansers minimum, this song is indeed that awful. Riko and this specific Emma SR act as DRs so they can fulfill multiple roles at once. s(group) insights go here. 3 necklaces go here.
Bond Boards: -For the appeal boosters board 35 for level 84 URs should be the bare minimum. -For the frontline board 100 is next to mandatory. But I personally highly recommend board 120 for the pure frontliners. Scoring in this song is extremely tight so you really need to be able to pump out as much as you can with every single tap. -For the GD side-strat anything past board 35 will be nice but mostly unnecessary.
For the guest I highly recommend borrowing Party Nozomi if your frontline is all pure-attribute. Otherwise Fes3 Dia instead or Thanksgiving Mia if you do decide to run a single off-attribute as well will be fine.
Final thoughts on this song...whoever designed this monstrosity is beyond worth saving. You will need to reset for crit RNG, cleanse RNG, DR RNG, and healing/shielding RNG all at the same time. There are so many possible things that can go wrong in this song that it'd be physically impossible for anyone to lay out every single scenario. This is an easy 100,000/10 on the difficulty scale. Simply because there are one hundred thousand other better things you could be doing than playing this abomination of a song.

Luckily, cheesing this song is infinitely easier than S-ranking it. Essentially plays out the same way as you'd cheese Snow Halation.
-Red strategy: Any 3 URs sorted by highest stamina. 3 necklaces go here but can be replaced by bracelets. -Green strategy: Your three best sustain(either shielders or healers), doesn't necessarily have to be GD-types but I recommend them for the 5% DR each you get for using them. 3 necklaces or brooches go here. -Blue strategy: 3 DRs or 2 DRs and a healer. Shouldn't matter what kind of DR you use but 4-5 note ones will be good. 3 necklaces go here.
Just stay in the green strategy until those stamina ACs appear. Swap into blue for those and then swap back to green once they're over. Rinse and repeat until you're done with the song.

Cathie Wood thinks there's future as it was reported she "scooped up" $21M worth of $COIN and she's quoted on Bloomberg, June 8, as saying Binance's legal woes are "good" for Coinbase. (linked below.)
Over at Vox, another story is being told and it's not good for Coinbase, their customers, or the crypto traders. I have no idea who is more right so I offer this up to the readership for consideration.
Excerpt:
The outcome of the SEC’s complaints could take years to litigate, according to Ciamac Moallemi, a business professor at Columbia University. “I think one data point is to look at the accusations against Ripple,” he says. The SEC filed a complaintaccusing the digital payment network of selling unregistered securities back in December 2020. That case is still pending.
“Assuming that these complaints stand up in court, I don’t think that there’s a scenario in which Coinbase or Binance — particularly Binance — become compliant,” (Molly) White says. “The business model of cryptocurrency in general and cryptocurrency platforms really relies on not abiding by the regulations that are in place.” Their business model is “regulatory arbitrage”: using loopholes or structuring their companies in countries with friendly crypto regulations. FTX, for example, was headquartered in the Bahamas. One possible scenario here is that the lawsuits could culminate in Binance ceasing operations in the US, and Coinbase shutting down entirely.
Perhaps what should worry crypto traders most of all is just how much of the crypto and Web3 hype has died down, a potential sign that the boom days are over. The crypto whales have made their billions and are off to the next big thing, while the average crypto trader is left holding the bag. In November 2021, the crypto industry’s market cap reached $3 trillion. Its market cap is now around $1.1 trillion, according to CoinMarketCap. “Every private equity firm is moving on — obviously to the area of artificial intelligence,” says Stark. “And they’re not coming back.”

The Vox article answers a lot of basic questions with quotes from law professors and former SEC enforcement attorney John Stark. I met this girl on Bumble and we began dating for aprrox. a month. She turned out to be a dud and unstable and her "past habits" weren't past. So we broke up. I planned to never talk to her again. She had other ideas. Since then she has stalked me, harassed me, made up a story she was pregnant and wanted an abortion and tried to get me to pay for it (still figuring out my legal rights here as far as extortion goes), then changed her story to she is pregnant and wants to keep the baby (no evidence to support this). I have had to block her and 3 of her friends due to the harassment, and she keeps getting new numbers or making fake ones to text me. I reported her to Bumble as well as contacted them numerous times about her and her behavior and NOTHING. Flash forward and I get a text on my phone from her new number that says she saw me on bumble and is going to make sure I am banned forever from it and will also tell all of facebook a bunch of lies about me. Lol okay. I blocked her and did not engage. A day later, sure enough, I log in, boom, banned from bumble. Does bumble have zero reasons for why they would ban a dude who has had to had to file a police report on someone but is okay with her being on there?
I will consider this a blessing as I will now retire from all dating apps.

2023.06.09 19:43 zoreIIe My girl is luckily doing better, but help me try to figure out caused elevated liver enzymes so I can make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Lucy is a 1.5 year old Maltese/Papillon, not spayed. Last heat cycle normal (ended around 1 -2 weeks ago) 5lbs
Diet: Just Food For Dogs + ½ Kirkland 8 in 1 multivit (Qrill brand), appetite: normal, activity: normal
(as of now I have stopped all supplements/reg dog food she has been on chicken and rice + vet given meds only for 3 days)
Saturday 6/3: Went for a long walk at the park (we don’t do this often. Maybe her 3rd time at this park). It was rather hot maybe 80 degrees and we took plenty of cold water breaks and left after 1 hr. Not a lot of walking just exploring.
On Sunday 6/4, Lucy was a little tired but nothing worrisome. Stools were normal consistency, however a little dark so I was going to schedule a vet visit anyway.
Monday 6/5: She was very tired seeming on our morning walk around 10AM. I chalked that up to a lot of activity over the weekend, and it was a little warm out so we were only outside like 10 minutes max. Appetite stayed completely normal throughout this entire event as well so I wasn’t too concerned. She seemed otherwise normal all day until 5:30pm. She threw up clear liquid (maybe a little foamish?) twice. She had problems previously with random vomiting when she was younger, vet said that it was rather normal for dogs and typically not cause for concern unless there are other things. So, after the puking I was monitoring closely. Within 15 minutes she had pretty much gone limp but still awake. No bloating/distended belly, no more vomiting, but incredibly lethargic so I checked her gums and they were white so I flew her to the ER vet. She puked one final time on the way there. We got there by 6 and they immediately took her, she got even worse for probably another 15 minutes while they were working on her. I am not sure what exactly they did in those first 10 minute as she continued to decline but as far as I know nothing special just checking her out, but after that she only got better and better. We were there until 10:30pm, during which they pushed 2 rounds of normal fluids first one to up her hydration and second to be able to get a blood sample for testing. Rapid parvo was negative. They said she tested negative for everything they have a test for, but not exactly sure what that includes(she’s fully vaxxed anyway). Comprehensive blood test only showed elevated liver enzymes. (1/3 that they look at was high in particular, I can find out which one if needed). They gave her Cerenia IV to reduce chances of more vomiting (which she hasn’t done since). Since she was doing so well I took her home and thankfully nothing else has happened and she seems more herself every day. Discharged with Denamarin 90mg q 24 hours x 7 days, she’s been taking that ever since. They said it was just a liver support vitamin essentially
Tuesday 6/7: Brother stayed with me to watch her while I slept, nothing happened in the 3 hours that I wasn’t eyes locked on her pretty much lol. She was still noticeably weak. Saw her regular vet that afternoon. She assumes this was either something she ate, or more likely a reaction to a bug bite. So we’re going to retest liver enzymes in 2 weeks and go from there. But Doc said she thinks she’s going to be just fine. Gave me Cerenia tabs and Zyrtec (due to the fact she thinks it was allergic reaction) to give q day for 4-5 days
Again appetite has been totally fine, normal bowel movements/urinating. All that remains is that she still is not 100% herself, although she did growl yesterday afternoon and barked again for the first time last night (I sobbed happily lol). So still nothing but improvements so far, just waiting for her to be 100% at this point.
What I think it could have possible been + vets opinions:
Saturday night I didn’t realize how low I was on her food. So, and ive done this before granted a long time ago, I took some kibble I have on hand and just added it to her food to make it more volume for her dinner. Now, and Im already beating myself up about this so I don’t need to be told how dumb this is, but I really didn’t know until after. The exp. on the bag is 01/2024. However the bag has been opened for like 6 months. Tightly sealed, does not look or smell different but all it took was a google search to find out how rancid it could have gotten. However vet says this isn’t very likely to be the cause (both ER vet and her reg Vet). But this also checks out timeline wise as Sunday was when she first started acting weird.
Just food for dogs has rice, chicken breast/thigh/liver. Carrots, apples, spinach. She has been on it for over a year. I thought it could have been either the rice, or perhaps bad chicken. Like salmonella/Ecoli type thing. Both vets said not likely, reg vet said she didn’t think this was likely due to lack of GI symptoms/ how fast she went down and came back up. The vomiting was more likely part of an allergic/venom reaction. Especially since her stomach was never distended/bloated
We live in AZ, I specifically live in an area with scorpions. A few things with this though: I haven’t seen one yet at all this year. Last year, she literally came up to me with one in her mouth that she had found and killed. When I called the vet they said as long as she seems totally fine there’s usually nothing to worry about with dogs and scorpions, its bees you gotta watch out for. Vet ER said its not very likely at all a scorp. sting was the cause, reg. vet says it is definitely possible.
Wasp. I didn’t believe in this theory at first because I couldn’t remember the last time I had even seen one. But, ever since Tuesday sure enough we saw one that morning and ever since there’s been one buzzing pretty much all day outside my balcony door that I can see. So now im thinking its possible
Last possibility that I can think of is she simply found something she wasn’t supposed to and ate it, either inside or out. She’s pretty good at finding little things to chew on, but im just as good at getting them from her right away. She doesn’t EVER eat anything outside either, but she does smell excessively. My house im never worried about because it’s just me, so in my head this would only be possible while we were at my parent’s house all day Sunday or the park on Saturday. But also, my mom does a thorough sweep of the floors/reachable surfaces before we come because they love her just as much as me.
With the bug stings options though, I never heard her yelp, never saw anything on her body, and all in all, when I tell you I WATCH this dog like a hawk generally speaking. If you were to look up helicopter parent in the dictionary, there is a picture of me and my dog. She is my entire world. Thanks for taking the time to read, and please help me try to figure out what this was so I can make sure it never happens again.

I am extremely aware that I should have asked about this before I reinstalled, but here we are. I used Migrate with Magisk to make a backup of my apps so I could do a factory reset, and I've installed with LineageOS for MicroG. So far, so good. But I can't figure out how to restore from the Migrate backup. The guide on the actual Migrate app says this:
First backup everything. Then flash your new ROM. Now (surprise) flash the backup zip file(s)! Yes, a part of the restoration process occurs via TWRP recovery. Make sure to root your new custom ROM with Magisk.
But 1. I don't know what exactly 'flash the backup zip file' means. (sideload it? I thought it meant fastboot flash __ but that requires a partition?)
  1. I tried to install TWRP recovery and got stuck in a boot loop (I fixed it, but I'm not exactly eager to try again), and then checking other people's solutions I supposedly don't have to do that?
  2. LineageOS does have a screen on boot that says 'restore from backup'. Is that what I'm supposed to be using? (And if it isn't, what's it for?)

I normally try and find guides or videos of people running through the process, but this time I've come up empty. Does anyone have one saved? Or a really obvious solution that they can laugh at me for not getting? (I feel like there must be one and my brain is just melted.)

This has been my approach for the past 7-8 years now.
I don't know how rock-bottom my confidence was vs other people, but it sure felt low.
Now I'm confident all the time.
Here's the recipe:
  1. Get good at learning.
Here is the only learning technique I use: flash cards.
I use an iPad. I split the screen between Kindle and Anki (flash card app).
If I see a piece of information that's worth knowing, I use the mic to create a flashcard. Goes fast af.
Then I drill those cards. If you get the card right, you see it less often. If it's wrong, you see it more often.
This an excellent study practice, shamelessly stolen from learning experts.
  1. Get good at practice.
Your attitude in practice matters a lot, so I'll cut to the chase:
The sole reason you practice is to create connections in your brain.
That means your job is to perform the task, observe the outcome, reflect, and repeat.
It doesn't matter if you fuck up 19/20 attempts. All that is is a reflection of where your neural connections currently are. Keep going.
  1. Start building competence in things that matter.
Take note of where you struggle with confidence. Then take this practice and build counter-balancing skills.
I struggled socially.
Applying this technique to emotional intelligence gave me social ease - confidence in social situations.
Now I'm learning social intelligence, so I can aquire rapport-building skills - the ability to effectively influence a social situation.
My success is an inevitable outcome of applying these techniques, because if you stimulate the brain to learn, it can't just not learn.
This will work for you, too, because we all work with more/less the same hardware.
If you can read this post, you have all the learning tools you need. You just gotta use them the right way.

2023.06.09 19:33 TwoNMom 20 EXTREME things my 27 month old does (that burn me out) PLEASE HELP Me...Am I alone in this, a BAD mother, or Naggy?

My 27 month old son is a super intelligent, active, handsome boy. I love him and my other son who is 7 month old ao much. I don't have any family support only my husband who has been so supportive and works all day while I care for the boys at home. With a new diagnosis I am considered disabled now. Unfortunately I'm not as strong as I used to play as I want or (rough play) with boys since I'm with them all say till Dad comes come to give them that super excitement they look for as boys, but try. My 27 month is very demanding. He wants only what he wants and if you try to tell him different he is definitely gonna show his terrible twos quick. I don't know what to do and worry he will influence his 7 monthbold brother to behave the same way. Here is what he does everyday- can anyone share with me please if these are normal toddler behaviors and if at some point he will outgrow them soon and continue being my sweet baby boy?
1) Often- Wakes up in AM hours kicking, yelling, only wants dad and pushes me away, and screams.
2) Mostly Often- Wakes up from day nap, very angry, kicks me, his brothers bassinet, doesn't want to be held, aggressive unless you immediately put on his favorite shows on TV.
3- Often- won't eat new food, looks at his food with disgust, touches pokes at his food and wont eat it, unless pushed to eat the 1st bite, if he likes the taste then he might eat otherwise another attempt of giving him food he will throw his head bad in his highchair ans scream til the next town hears him
4- Aways- prefers Dad who is gone to work 10 hours and day and works 7 days a week.
5- Often- will not let me kiss hold, or console him if Dad is around - I feel invisible and hated by him
6- Often- he envies when mebor dad ate carrying his baby brother and will throw a tantrum if he thinks you are not giving attention
7- Sometimes- in public he pushes me aways, puts his foot on my arm or cheer if I'm trying to get him out his cars eat and attempt to kiss greet him or say I love you, but won't do this to his Dad.
8- Always- will not listen or respond until you ask him repeatedly more than 6 to 10 times to stop doing something especially if it's risky
9- Often break and destruct all his toys and house belongings in a matter of minutes if it's a new toy or plans out to brake it at a different time it he's caught.
10- Always- Chews, chews, chews, and chews everything and I mean everything....Toys, our stuff, shoes, bags, spoons, buckets, books, dispensers, crayons, pens, Keys, toothbrush, plants,
11- Often- Bites me on my arms, legs, fingers if I'm trying to clean his tongue, bites his brother once in arm, tried to bit brother in leg but i always stop him, bit Dad on the penis when had had arms full trying to place groceries on the kitchen counter because he was angry that Dad won't allow him to get things from the grocery bags before we clean them, and bites our toes if he can.
12) Often- Smacks our privates, runs around us if he saw us getting undressed or putting on clothes after shower or before shower that we literally have to run or quickly close door from him.
13) Often- is very pushy for example if I'm using the toilet he will Bang the door so hard crying and yell, so if I open and tell himbok but I'm using the toilet you have to be patient and don't stress me out it's my personal space, he would first be calm and is curious bit then begins to push his body on my thigh or pull my hands wanting me to get up before I finish to leave the bathroom to do something for him and Often times I'm so overwhelmed that I don't go because he was so annoying and pushy.
14) Often, will take 1 to 1 1/2 hours during bed time to sleep because he tosses and turns and talks too much and yells.
15) Always- Climbs tables especially the TV table and have to tell him 3 to 6 times to stop or get down
16) Always- Brakes our belongings
17) Often- Refuses to Apologize, Say thank you, or please
18) Often- Runs and stomps on the floor so hard and now crawls out of energy or excitement very loud and take so much to stop him
19) Always- Breaks his big toys like Cars, Rocket, Fence when he wa ms 18 months
20) BUT.....with All this He is Absolutely Smart, and is very very advanced in his communication, speech, activity, and milestones for him only being 27 months old. (MA)

....and malaria. They're nonsense.
If you [really] work in a laboratory, what is malaria? Malaria is a Falaria, a microscopic worm that eats degenerative tissue from a blood cell, and.... Mosquitoes don't give us malaria, we give them malaria. it's from a human cell, not from a cell of a mosquito. So you have to take a look at that hard. Wait a minute. If they get the malaria from us, then how are they giving it to us. Because their objective, blood.... The female is the bloodsucker. The male does not suck blood, is about one tenth of the female's size, but the female doesn't drink the blood, either. She gets it to feed her larvae. Without the larvae, without the blood, the larvae would not survive.
So when you have malaria, it is a broken down bloodstream. You're red blood cells are deficient and damaged. The Falaria gets in there and eats it. If there are, let's say you have low phagocytes, white blood cells. The white blood cells are given the job of eating dead red blood cells. If they're not enough of them, there's too much destruction and they cannot consume everything, then we will get Malaria Falaria to break down those red blood cells.
So the idea that we get malaria from a mosquito is absolutely fiction.. They need to keep the blood very clean. Also, that falaria, is so microscopically small that one phagocyte, one white blood cell, could consume a massive amount of them, so you could never take over the blood and do us damage. So you have to take those, those so-called diseases as myth.
How many cases of malaria have you seen? What are the symptoms of malaria? Malaria is just a severe cold, flu, but they will identify it, they will find the stuff in red blood cells, and they'll find this microscopic Falaria. And it takes a very powerful electronic microscope to see it. So they want to say, oh, this particular epidemic was caused by malaria, only all they have to do is look, they're always going to find malaria in the human bloodstream. And they'll say, see, he's got malaria. And then they'll say, oh yah, just treat it with these antibiotics, and what does the antibiotics do?
76% of the time, if you go into a hospital to treat malaria, you will die. When I was looking for land to build a farm in the Philippines three years ago, I met with the chief of a tribe because I was looking for remote areas where there were no roads or anything. And I had spent like six weeks setting up this meeting with the chief of this tribe that they had to translate it into three languages to get back to me. So, I spent all this time setting it up, no roads to get back there, jeeps and everything, we had hummers to get back to where we wanted to go. And I get there and the assistant to the chief says, I can't give you much time today, we can't go through the jungle because I have two daughters that have malaria, I've got take them to the hospital. And that was all that was translated to me.

And that was translated back to him, and he said, oh, you're probably right. Five years ago I had two daughters, they had malaria, so-called malaria, [I] took them to the hospital, they were dead in 24 hours. And he said, what do you suggest since you're a doctor?
Well I said, I suggest you take 3 oz. of [fresh, raw] lime juice, 3 oz. of [unheated] honey, and 6 oz. of [raw, young green] coconut water, mix it together, and you give them a tablespoon every hour for three days in their waking hours. And then after that, every two to three hours, a tablespoon.

2023.06.09 19:33 Honest_Supermarket_9 Help! - 7month old allergic reaction to uncommon allergens!

Hi everyone, my 7 month old has been on foods since 4 1/2 months. She’s had a few reactions here and there, one being a mango applesauce and the other we think Strawberry. But a few weeks ago I gave her Sweet potato- mashed , she’s had this before several times
A hint of garlic powder, she’s been exposed to garlic a number of times
Minced chicken- was making fajitas and cooked it with a bit of vegetable oil in a pan. No other spices. She’s had maybe 2 or 3 tiny pieces of chicken before.
She got bad, bad hives right after eating. I took her to the hospital and although the hives were severe she didn’t have other symptoms. We have an appointment with an allergy clinic in July and an epi pen on hand just in case.
My question is, what could it have been that caused it?
None of these are very common allergens so we are very confused, and she’s been exposed to them all before.
Any input or advice would be nice!

So I've decided to transition from cigarettes to vaping. Never a heavy smoker, I typically smoked 4-5 cigarettes per day, but when I recently decided to cut down on my drinking I found myself creeping up to 7-8. I first tried a disposable, a Pastel Cartel Esco Bars in tobacco flavor 5%, about $30 (I'm in Massachusetts, but I want tobacco flavor anyway). I was told it was good for 2500 puffs and it lasted me about 10 days; that seemed quick to me but I'd value any opinions. I decided I wanted to try a Juul, thinking they were kind of pioneers and thinking it might be the best, but all I could find is 3% (about $50 for the device + a 4-pack of pods). The flavor is kind of harsh, but it's not very satisfying. I could be looking for something that doesn't exist, but what I'm hoping for is an e-cigarette that I can smoke like a cigarette: 8-10 puffs about 4 or five times per day. TIA for any tips.

Long post alert bc I watched SHP and have survivors guilt I guess! As more and more comes out about the ATI/IBLP programs I am so grateful that I had an adult in my life who protected me from the programs, and feel so sad for the other children that didn't. I went to the camp and left thinking "omg, that was a weird 1.5 months" but never had to hear about it again. The other kids were stuck in the cycle forever and went home to it. Breaks my heart :( SO I found my old diary I kept when I was at STEP, had two glasses of white wine and here you go:
I attended STEP+ some of STEP advanced,https://iblp.org/spiritual-enrichment-young-ladies/ sometimes lumped with EXCEL. STEP was the summer-long girl's version of ALERT, at the IBLP/ATI campus in Big Sandy. I went just before the first bits of Duggar news broke, in 2014 if I remember correctly. My best friend at the time invited me to go, and it was presented as a regular "summer camp" to my mom. We had no idea what it was like. My mom was hesitant as there wasn't much info online but I begged to go and she allowed me. I was homeschooled but not fundie at all so it was an enormous culture shock. I was constantly told I was too headstrong, not meek and mild, and lacked "first time obedience". I was told I was "not a mercy-giver" as I wasn't helpful enough. They never said it in a mean way and were always very sweet as they said it.
At Big Sandy there was some effort to teach us real skills, like getting to rock climb, going on camp-outs, how to change a tire or do CPR and some fun kayaking and crafts but also lots of culty things. Most of the girls seemed to enjoy it, have signed up willingly, and viewed it as a fun summer camp/break from caring for their younger siblings, but there were some who were more rebellious and talked about running away, or who had come with friends and had no idea it would be like this. Michelle Duggar spoke briefly to us girls via video chat at one point before a sermon, with a long, boring story about how as a child she once stole $20 from a woman and how we all are sinful, even young people like us. They also came in their big white bus to pick up a Duggar boy (who shall not be named as they were exploited enough already)and we hid on the porch and watched his shoulders sag and say, "Y'all are sure?" when they told him they had come to surprise him and tell him they were expecting another baby. We did not interact with the boys at all except for kitchen duty, some guest speakers, and church, but I remember once in the kitchen he mentioned that he would rather be at ALERT than at home when some of us were talking about missing home. :'(.
The teen leaders (unpaid, mostly sweet, older teen girls, including some of the Bates girls) had us "confess" sins to each other and our leaders weekly. I don't blame the teen leaders as they were getting just as brainwashed as we were. Almost all of them were very kind but there were a few (not from the "famous fundie families")who took great pleasure in being "drill instructors" and waking us up/yelling at us/ being more like the ALERT leaders. I remember girls confessing very deep things that could have harmed themselves/others and no one being equipped to do anything about it/no mental health professionals. We did a "rapture" experience where we were woken up in the middle of the night, blindfolded with our hands on each other's shoulders and led through a dark room while people screamed at us and we were lightly hit with pool noodles which seemed scary when you can't see what's going on. I got in trouble for talking back and telling them to stop after a girl had a panic attack. I started yelling back and told them it was psychological warfare and that we were just kids and they said they were preparing us for the "real apocalypse war" which just scared everyone even more.
There were lots of lectures on how to be a a good help-meet, how to set a table, cook , sew, etc. We did also learn how to change tires, do basic drywall and plumbing, and pluck and clean chickens. The Alert boys killed goats, girls killed chickens. A girl cried and said she didn't want to do it and an Alert boy was screamed at by higher-ups for killing the chicken for her instead of making her do it. Most of these classes were taught by kids a little older than us that for some reason were working for ATI instead of in college. We had a lecture on dressing more feminine and were told long necklaces were a sin because they drew the eye to our chest. Eye-traps were a huge thing. I couldn't believe it when I heard that in the documentary again. When I told the other girls I regularly wore swimsuits and went swimming without t-shirts over them there was a collective gasp. When we played soccer they sent the ALERT boys inside so they wouldn't see us in exercise clothes. Just so much emphasis on keeping covered and hidden. My best friend and I got in trouble for talking about popular culture, especially popular music at the time like Justin Bieber and One Direction. During movie nights we only got to watch pre-approved, older movies usually with a patriotic/family theme or message. Follow Me Boys and episodes of the Andy Griffith Tv show were favorites. Writing letters to your future husband was another big "quiet time" activity. I wrote Dear Niall Horan and got yelled at. :)
Every day except Sunday we woke up at 4 am and read the Bible/did devotions, then ran two miles, did calisthenics, and obstacle courses. It wasn't as paramilitary as ALERT but we had room inspections, had KP and had to clean the IBLP campus ( the ALERT boys did help us). The kitchens were ran by older homeschooled girls, some of them from my circle, who had been sent there to work/board for free in the hopes of meeting and marrying an ALERT boy. The ALERT boys had it tougher than we did. I remember them working out a lot, having to "deploy" to find a lost elderly man in a town nearby, taking flight and diving lessons, and them just standing in formation and saluting Col. Tanner who ran ALERT and mainly just drove around in a Jeep. We had to fast on Sundays, which was a bad idea as myself and most of the girls were severely underweight, scrawny teens. We had a love/hate relationship with Sundays. No food until 5pm and all-day sermons on Sunday, but we loooved going to church because we got to see the QUEST and ALERT boys! sitting on the other side of the room. We really thought they were something in those dumb uniforms, y'all. If you've ever been to a homeschool conference and seen them smugly guarding the doors you know how funny it is.
The scary part is I started out thinking "this is insane, nothing like a summer camp, I should call Mom to come get me" but then I began to really believe them -that I WAS bad and rebellious, that I had been raised too secular, that I should be more submissive and meek, etc. Plus I felt guilty leaving my new friends that I had made.
My mom did some research on her own about the programs while I was there and freaked out after finding out about the Bill Gothard ties. This was just as things were beginning to come out online. She came to get me weeks early, saying I was never going back. I can remember her politely but firmly explaining to the employees and teen interns how bad the programs were and how their beliefs needed to be better advertised on the website so people wouldn't accidentally sign up thinking it was a "normal camp". She took me out of a church youth group when I said it was starting to sound similar to IBLP. She also removed me from the Before You Meet Prince Charming Bible study group all my homeschooled friends had signed up for, which is a very fundie "courtship based" group. I was a very young teen at the time and was totally brainwashed and so impressionable. I told my mom I wanted to start wearing skirts so I didn't distract guys, etc. I thought I was going to Hell for having read Wattpad and thinking Justin Bieber was cute. She instantly started working through this with me, offered to take me to therapy, and helped de-IBLP my faith. To think that all of this was fit into a two month summer camp (that I only went to a month and a half of ) is insane. I can only imagine how indoctrinated the poor kids that were raised in this program were.
Looking back I'm so thankful she realized how dangerous that ideology was. The Duggar news broke just a few months after that. After I left for college my mom joined a new supposedly non denom homeschool group with my younger siblings. Even then, around 2018, with the news about the Duggars fully out there, there were other homeschooling moms (one who y'all know well "m is for mildfundie") who reprimanded my mom for speaking out against harmful "just quietly endure suffering" beliefs that are so prevalent in homeschool Christian circles and for recommending therapy to ex-fundies.
Posting because I also feel a little bit of survivor's guilt I guess - out of all the girls in my "team" at STEP and the guys I knew that were sent to ALERT I am one of only 3 that "made it out" and went to college instead of instantly starting a very large family. It's all so clear now how dangerous the programs were but at the time I thought my mom was over-reacting. I can see how they prey on easily impressionable, uneducated adults and then groom children. It's horrifying.
Side note: most of the STEP staff moved over to P31/Uncommon Endeavors, which supposedly is less culty but who knows. I would hope that it's more focused on the camping and outdoors aspect and less on the "are you a giver? a prophet? a helpmeet?" type stuff.

“Absolutely fucking not!” My frustration with my station commander is almost visibly, but definitely audibly, bubbling out of me while I furiously pace back and forth in her small office. The situation is going splendidly. She called me into her office not even three minutes ago, and we are already almost shouting at each other. “I’m not running away!”
Nicole lets out an equally frustrated sigh. “Alex, you’re not running away. You have to listen to me. I wouldn’t be asking this of you if I wasn’t certain it was the best for you.”
“The best for me?” I stop dead in my tracks and stare at her, a lone tear slowly running down my cheek. “Leaving my family, my colleagues, my friends, my city, my country, and my planet behind?”
She wants to get a word in, but I simply talk over her. “And why me? Karl or Peter or Julia are more deserving of that spot than I am! All three have more experience on the job than me. Karl has been squad leader for years before I even looked at the training manual. Julia’s an actual mechanic and her material knowledge saves our collective asses on pretty much every other call, and Peter has-”
“And they all have their own families here. Partners. Children. In Karl’s case even a grandchild.” Now she interrupts me, her voice carrying a very familiar tone. Our boss spoke like this only when she was making announcements and I learned the hard way that it was always a bad idea to interrupt her at such a moment.
She continues, visibly straining to calm herself down to not escalate our differences into a proper volume contest. “I’ve already asked them and they’ve all refused.”
Nicole stands with her arms crossed in front of her chest, fingers nervously wiggling against the fabric of her black shirt. It is obvious that she’s still fired up from our mutual outbursts as she leans back against the piece of wall next to the tall windows of her office. She turns her head to look outside, watching the fire station’s courtyard where two of our colleagues are doing a routine check on some equipment of one of our fire engines.
After a few more long seconds she forces her gaze away from the window and focuses her aging pale blue eyes on me again. “Look, I know how you feel. I don’t like this entire situation either. But these instructions are signed by senator of the interior Manning himself. Each fire station has to send one member with the preliminary evacuation group. And for our station, that can only be you. You’re the only viable option left.”
“But-”
“No, you’ll hear me out!” She cuts me off before I manage to get out a second word. “I’ve talked with everyone else who meets the requirements stated in the order. Karl, Peter, Julia, Tascha, Ivan, Markus, Günther, Anisa, and Bernd. They all want to stay with their families, no matter what. And the rest of the unit is missing one qualification or another, or hasn’t been on the job long enough.”
Her arms drop and she shuffles around her crowded desk to stand in front of me. The late afternoon autumn sun filters through the half-lowered blinds, making her slightly graying blonde hair glisten like strands of gold. Her days of duty on a fire engine are years in the past, but she is just as passionate and dedicated in her position as our station commander.
Nicole draws in a deep breath. “All of them told me in no uncertain terms that they would only go if they could take their families with them. But since that’s not possible…”
Her voice trails off for a moment before she continues. “Alex, I’ve heard the discussions and rumors as well as everyone else here. If nothing happens then you can simply mark this down as a fancy extended vacation paid for by the government and then tell us how Venlil Prime was. But in the worst case… we will need people with your knowledge, your heart, and your passion to rebuild.”
I’m biting my cheek while listening to my boss, whether out of frustration or nervousness I can’t tell. A moment later I breathe a defeated sigh and nod my assent with my gaze cast at the ground. “Okay, I’ll do it. But for the record, it still feels like running away. I will be gone for so many months, and you’ll be down one crew for all my shifts. It just doesn’t feel right for me to leave you guys hanging like this.”
Hearing my response a warm and caring smile appears on Nicole’s lips. “Thank you. And you’re not leaving us hanging, Alex. I know only very few other firefighters that are as engaged as you are. You put in so much effort and passion even outside your shifts.”
She continues, rattling down the list of things I do as if it was anything special. It doesn’t feel special to me, I’m just doing what felt necessary to help out my colleagues and the fire department.
“Don’t think I wouldn’t notice!” She teases me with a smirk. “You put in several hours with the youth brigade every other weekend, you’re first in line to volunteer for PR work at schools and universities and sports competitions, and when there’s a festival or any other event you always show up for at least one shift of EMS.”
I jump a little when she places her hands on my shoulders, but her now calm and almost soothing voice quickly puts me at ease. I lift my eyes and meet her gaze. “Whether or not you see it that way, you’re one of our best. I know you won’t let us down. And when this whole thing has blown over, you’ll come back to us and tell us about the aliens you met and how you showed them how firefighting is done properly. Okay?”
“Okay, boss.” I force a weak smile.
“Good. The shuttle for your group will leave Tuesday at 0800 from terminal 3, so be there at 0700.” Nicole releases my shoulders before she turns and grabs a stack of papers from her desk. “Here’s the details, the boarding gate, how much baggage you can bring along, what the shelter on Venlil Prime will be like, and so on.”
She huffs apologetically. “I know it’s on rather short notice, but the entire government is basically in emergency mode, from our Senate here all the way to the big guys in Berlin, and they wanted this evacuation happening yesterday.”
Still feeling dejected, I take the documents from her. “Thanks, boss. And… sorry for getting loud.”
She waves her hands. “Eh, don’t worry about it. I know you only mean well, and these times are difficult for all of us. You know I’ll never hold it against you that you basically wear your heart on your sleeves.”
I turn to leave but stop when she suddenly continues.
“Oh, one more thing. I’ve already cleared you from work for your remaining stay on Earth. You’ll probably need the next few days to prepare your things for the trip.”
I nod and reply softly. “Thank you. I appreciate it, really.”
Without any further words I quietly slip out of her office, closing the door behind me with a sigh. After closing my eyes for a second and taking a deep breath to help me calm down, I turn left, the direction of our locker room.
You can do this, Alex. You heard your boss, it’s just a precaution ordered by our government. Once the panic settles you’ll come back and tell some great stories.
My walk to the locker room only lasts a handful of moments and I absentmindedly key in the combination to my personal compartment. Before putting the documents away I give them a quick browse.
Let’s see… boarding via gate F5, baggage is a locked box with two sets of my personal protective gear provided by the station, plus a total of 150 liters of luggage in any form… Okay, that’s quite a lot. Not sure I’ll need that much.
Then I get to the pages about the camp. The buildings look simple and functional, and the units inside appear to be clean and good enough for human habitation. Depending on your needs you’d get differently sized rooms with an appropriate number of beds and other furniture, plus a small attached bathroom.
No communal showers and I get to shit in peace. Okay, that sounds better than I expected.
Automated laundry service like in a hotel. That was nice, the last thing I’ll be needing on an alien planet is having to worry about the reserves in my underwear drawer. Seems that whoever runs this shelter really did their homework. It definitely could have been much worse. But we’ll see how well the actual location manages to hold up to the promises made on the flier.
The following pages are a description of the general area and the local attractions. Small town, quite rural surroundings.
Oh well, let’s hope their rural folks are a bit less judgemental than some of the backwater villages on Earth.
I finally put the documents away, not wanting to waste my precious downtime staring at some paper. You never know when the next call comes in, and once it does we have to be on the road within the next 90 seconds. You learn pretty quickly to be very aware of your time management, especially regarding the toilet. Nobody wants to be in an audience with the porcelain god when the alarm goes off.
After closing my locker, I make my way to the break room. I get barely a single step into the room when I see the heads of the six colleagues sitting on the couch turn at me in perfect sync.
“And?” Karl’s slightly graying buzzcut combined with his stupid, wide, shit eating grin immediately stands out from the crowd. “How was your chat with the boss?”
I quirk a brow. “What do you mean?”
“Yeah, how did it go?” Julia quips, her auburn hair dangling from her head in two thick braids perfectly framing her pale freckled face. “We could hear your little shouting match all the way to here. We even had to pump up the volume on the TV to not accidentally eavesdrop!”
Aw crap. Well, time to rip off the bandaid.
I take a deep breath, and after a short moment of hesitation I spill the beans. “I’m leaving for Venlil Prime on Tuesday. I’m sorry.”
Julia and the other five all but jump to their feet. She rushes me and grabs me in a tight embrace. “What do you mean, you’re sorry? That’s great news! Especially since Nicole really didn’t have much choice left. Glad you picked up her offer before she had to order you to go.”
“Uh huh. She told me you all said no to her already.” I reply, returning the embrace which is getting even more stuffy now with the others eventually joining in.
“Yep. No way we’re leaving our growing families behind.” Günther speaks out, hinting at his daughter due to be born in two months. When I see his lips curl into that grin I already know something incredibly silly will be coming out of his mouth in the next few seconds. “We all have our roots settled here already, but you’re still young and can fly like a teeny tiny birb across the galaxy.”
“I’ll give you ‘tiny birb’ once I get out of this group hug!” I tease in return, earning a laugh from everyone around. “But seriously guys, it’s getting hot in here.”
Eventually they relent and release me, moving to stand in a circle around and peppering me with countless questions and comments.
“You’ll have to send us a message when you get there, okay?”
“Don’t forget to exercise, would be a shame if you came back all withered away.”
“You do realize that Venlil Prime has like 20 percent higher gravity than Earth? Tiny birb here will have problems walking around… ouch!”
“Do you think they have a proper fire brigade over there? I somehow can’t imagine people so skittish and easily frightened being able to put up with this stuff.”
Everyone was laughing and joking, especially Günther whose deep rumbling but jovial voice easily carries through the corridors of the station, when suddenly the all too familiar alarm klaxon sounds and the incident announcement echoes around us.
“STATION 23: HLF 1, HLF 2, DLK, RTW 1, RTW 2, ELW 1. STATION 24: HLF 1, HLF 2, RTW 1, RTW 2. HIGH-SPEED ROAD TRAFFIC COLLISION, FOUR VEHICLES INVOLVED, TWO PERSONS TRAPPED. POLICE ALREADY AT THE SCENE.”
All joking and laughing is instantly forgotten while everyone runs towards their assigned vehicles and quickly changes into the heavy duty clothes. Barely a minute later the gates of Station 23 open, and my unit’s vehicles rush towards the accident with sirens blaring and lights flashing. Inside HLF 2 I went through my mental checklist while putting on my gear.
Heavy RTC, probably some leaking liquids, chance of compromised battery cells. With that many involved vehicles we have to prepare at least two squads for fire suppression and prevention, while the rest will work on getting the trapped people out. Okay, gear check: hood… mask… air tank… respirator… data uplink… radio… IR… ELoc…

This is long story because I want to document every little detail I can remember from this life changing experience since its still very fresh in my memory.
TL;DR at the bottom.
I’ve had a re-occurring dream every so often where I’m on a boat in an ocean in complete darkness with a group of random people. Most times I just walk around talking with different folks, sometimes I go out on the deck, but there are no stars, no moon, no lights at all except for the lights coming through the windows from inside. Complete blackness in every direction. The boat looks like an oversized tugboat with three levels of interior spaces and a large main deck. The boat is a little run down, seems like its been through some storms and is well weathered and banged up, its just floating along in a pitch black environment in a body of water with small waves lapping at the sides. Inside there are different rooms with different groups of people in each room doing different activities and other random stuff. Not much to think about and nothing of any significance ever happened in this re-occurring boat dream over the years, until last night.
Let me pause for a moment and mention that I have lucid dreamed off and on most of my life, I have a hard time triggering it, but when it does happen, I can usually do some crazy things in the dream world. I would say i'm well versed and experienced in lucid dreaming but not an expert, but I have successfully dream jumped in past lucid dreams.
This dream started out after a WBTB (Wake back to bed) method of lucid dreaming. I entered REM sleep and stepped into the dream on the 3rd floor of the boat and chatted with a random woman, and moved throughout the floor interreacting with different folks. Lucidity was triggered shortly after by my wife coughing in bed next to me so I was able to hear that in the background of the dream and I suddenly realized I was sleeping and became lucid. I was balancing right on the line between the physical world and the dream world, but I focused hard on remaining in the dream. As I take in the scene from this new lucid perspective, I can't seem to change anything about the scene. I could control my actions but I could not control the scene or any of the characters. I figured, alright lets try jumping out of this boring boat scene into something more fun and entertaining. I went through my preparatory process to jump out, concentrating on the scene I wanted to go into, and nothing happened. tried again and nothing. Then a third time, and nothing, strange. I’ve done this many times before where the scene would usually fade out to a bright white empty canvas and the new scene builds off that.
The woman was standing there watching me and looked very confused.
Her: What are you doing?
Me: I'm trying to jump out of here
Her: Why would you want to do that? this is your boat
Me: What do you mean this is my boat?, I'm just in a dream
Her: This is your boat, you don't normally leave until after we dock
Me: What are you talking about?
She gets closer and whispers in my ear, "this is your boat, you own this boat, and you own everything on this boat, all these people here are you"
Me: what do you mean all these people are me?
The wheels are turning in my head, "these people are me?" and it takes a few seconds to come to the shocking realization of what exactly is going on here.
Me: You mean everyone here is a version of me? is everyone here a past life?
She stepped back, slowly smiled and nodded her head and then a wave of energy that felt like goosebumps combined with a pressure wave just radiated across my body and I fell backwards to the floor. The shock of what I just realized brought me to the verge of waking up. The scene was starting to collapse and I could start feeling my bed, pillow and blanket on my body but I was not going to leave this dream on a cliffhanger like that. I concentrated as hard as I could, and as determined as possible and forced myself back into the dream, slowly trying to stabilize my consciousness back into the scene. I am normally not successful going back in after it starts fading from a shock like that but this time it worked!
I'm back on the boat, jump to my feet, and so many thoughts are racing through my head. Suddenly a bell rings and the woman says, "we're about to dock, this is when you leave" I realize I have only a minute or two at this point to try and gather as much info as possible before I wake up. The first thing I realized I must do, is count all the people. I have to know how many reincarnations are here. I want to start at the bottom floor and work my way up, going room by room, hopefully ending at the helm. I immediately run all the way down to the first floor, as i'm running downstairs I make a mental note to try and remember and the rough age, race, gender, clothing style or anything else unique that may stand out from each individual to ponder on later.
I hit the first floor and bust through the first door in the hallway like the cool aid man just tore through a wall of a building and there are several people standing around jamming out to some music, "oh, this must be all the lives I lived as a musician" 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, clothing styles range from 1920's to 1980's. Next door, two middle aged women that look like they're cooking dinner in a kitchen, they must be chefs, 6, 7, next door, 8, 9, 10, cowboy hat, Indian garb, next door 11, 12, 13, and so on. Door after door, the count goes higher, up to 20 now, most common characteristic so far is mostly middle aged folks from different time periods and different regions of the world within the last 200 years.
Next floor up, level 2, kicked in the first door, this was the sports room, about 8 people here, mostly basketball players with football and soccer player mixed in, this must be why I used to be able to sink 3-pointers like nothing when I was 15 years old. total count of 28 now, next several rooms, 29,30,31,32,33,34,35, 2 Asian men, one middle eastern woman, a monk, other random normal looking people, until I got to the last room on this floor. This room was the largest room, had the most people, and was the most emotional for me. I bust through the door, and its the kids room! I literally gasped as I looked around at just over a dozen or so toddlers and young children playing games on the floor with some young teenagers mixed in. My heart absolutely sank for all these lives I lived that were cut short for whatever reason. I took a few moments to walk through the group and put my hand on the head of each young child as I counted them off as they peered up at me with a look of endearment on their faces. I had to keep moving though, time was running out. total count of 50 now.
Back up to the third floor, room by room, this is the floor I started on so I had a general idea of who was up here, 51,52,53,54,55,56,57,58,59,60, a mix of male and female, ranging from mid 20's to mid 50's. I get through all the rooms and start frantically looking for the staircase up to the helm, who's steering this boat? who's controlling this thing? how do I get up there? as I frantically look around, suddenly I sense the boat bump the dock as it slides into its berth. Its only a matter of seconds now, I don't even bother to try and look out the window to see what was out there, I was scrambling around looking for the door to the top of the boat to see who or what was in control of this thing. At that moment I come face to face with a past life, older gentleman with glasses, thin body and balding head.
Him: Calm down, everything is going to be okay
Me: There are 60 people here! I exclaimed
Him: No, there are 66 people here and we are all you.
At that moment a powerful force immediately started dragging me backwards out of the scene and I fought hard against it, I was pushing hard to stay to find out more, I wanted to know more, I wanted to interview every single life and for a few seconds I floated above the floor fighting against the forces, but eventually it overcame my efforts and pulled me out of the boat and the scene disappeared. I woke up in my bed in a pool of my own sweat and my heart racing as I jumped up in bed in shock at what just occurred.
Out of the 60 people I counted in less than 2 minutes here is a very rough breakdown:
Gender - about 40 male, 20 female Race - about 8-10 black, 3-4 Asian, 2-3 Indian, 1 middle eastern, 1 Tibetan, 2-3 Hispanic and the rest mostly white
Age - this surprised me the most, 15 children under 15, less than 5 above 60 and rest in between. It’s seems more than 2/3rds of my past lives died before age 40. (I’m currently 46)
Time period - it seems all past lives lived within the past 200-300 years based on the clothes I saw, with most in the past 100 years, which reinforces the fact I believe that reincarnation is not linear with time and lives do overlap with other lives along the same earth timeline.
Takeaways
I no longer believe our consciousness is destroyed when our soul is wiped during the reincarnation process. I believe the consciousness and memories from each lifetime is removed and transported to this higher dimension storage realm where they are collected for each soul for some sort of future retrieval. Kind of like a safety deposit box for holding all the souls lifetime experiences.
This experience has completely humbled me, I thought I was an old soul that lived hundreds if not thousands of past lives, boy was I wrong. 25% of my past lives didn’t make it to adulthood, which was shocking to me. Most wisdom comes with age so I now consider myself a young soul with limited experience in this world. A lot of things do come easy to me, like sports, music, cooking and other activities but I realize these skills were practiced and perfected in previous lives.
It’s a little comforting knowing my current life experiences and memories will be saved and transferred to the boat realm for safekeeping after this body’s death, but also a little uneasy about that because who knows no long this will go on for? Do these past lives just wait around for eons while more past lives continue to arrive with the main soul occasionally stopping by to visit?
At what point does the main soul say that’s enough, go and collects all of the past lives, absorbs their life experiences and memories and moves onto something else? So many questions.
TLDR: I became lucid in a seldom re-occurring dream where I'm on a boat with a large group of people surrounded by complete blackness only to discover all the other occupants of the boat are all my past lives. All 66 prior life experiences, memories and consciousness from each life my soul has lived on this planet so far are all stored on this boat like a safe, hidden in a higher dimensional realm that I have visited many times before, but this time I was lucid to understand what it was.
