Chihuahua yorkie mix chorkie

We have a chihuahua/dachshund mix. Cute little guy. Neutered. About 7 years old. Not sure of his weight but he is not obese. The problem we have is that he has some seriously bad breath. I have heard that we could take him to the vet and have his teeth cleaned and it would go away for a while. Is this the only option? Thank you

my 18f bf 20m went on a vacation for his brother’s birthday and is currently still on that vacation to corpus christi. Before the vacation happened they told him i wasn’t invited because i’d be a distraction , i found out today that his brother’s gf went with them and so did his stepdad. so i asked how i was a distraction if everyone else’s respective partners were invited but me jus to come to the realization they wanted me to dog sit for the entire week they’re gone. Now i’m upset because they used the excuse that i’d be distraction so i wouldn’t go , his brother wanted me to go but it was his stepfather who said i shouldn’t .
his mother spent the week prior constantly saying she wishes i should go or what not and i didn’t realize until i asked if his brother’s gf went and my boyfriend proceeded to joke and say “well if you came who would watch the dog” after he said that i hung up. he knows i don’t like his dog , she’s pissed on my bed 3 times , my floor twice and attempted to attack my dog and ended up biting me instead in which was so deep i had to get stitches. I told him i don’t like his dog at all , she’s a sweet dog but she’s constantly done things to make me dislike her , everything she whines, stares at me for attention and even her jus breathing drives me insane and i truly try to tell myself she’s just a dog but her doing it repeatedly has severed any like i had for her .
i don’t really know if i’m in the wrong but i told them that if they expect me to do this again i’d request to be paid because they used me for a free week of dog care at no expense and it angers because i know his step dad isn’t very fond of me , my bf keeps saying he’ll find someone to take her and is making me feel bad for inconveniencing others because i’m upset , do i have a right to be ?
my bf is a people pleaser it’s really not his fault it was unbeknownst to him so he assumed they were looking out for his brother and he’s a bit oblivious. the dog is very sweet but attempted to attack my dog and end up up biting me instead of my dog . she’s a mixed breed pit and my dog is a yorkie for comparison.
edit: she said he argued with an ex on a trip 4 years ago and they didn’t want that again . he texted me “I talked to my mom n she was sad u feel left out and she feels bad cuz she wanted u to come but then she mentioned how a long time ago I brought an ex n we argued a lot n they didn’t want that to happen again but they just don’t understand that u r u and they r them it kinda pissed me off”

Hi everyone! Every time I go to the dog park, 1 or 2 other dogs will become absolutely infatuated with my dog. Not the same dogs every time or anything, but usually a larger dog will become obsessed with my neutered male chihuahua mix and want to hump him and/or lick his junk. I usually hear "oh this never happens" from the owners and I do actually believe them. My dog doesn't really mind and handles it pretty well, but it's becoming such a pattern I want to see if he has a pheromone disorder? Or something going on that dogs would smell that I wouldn't think of. Either that or body language / behavior that would cause this from my dogs end that I would think of. Anyone have experience with a similar issue or advice? All my googling and reddit searching turned up the opposite issue of a dog that becomes obsessed. Thank you!

I live in the city near Amish country. I'm about a 20 minute drive from at least a dozen puppy mills. My partner drives an electric bike to work and found what he believed to be a male yorkie (bless his heart) deceased in a hit and run in March. He asked me if I wanted him and of course I did but I had already taken my sleeping medication and he had to get to work so she was outdoors in 45-54F temps until 8am when she was dropped off at my apartment and put on ice. Once I got her I told my partner that she was definitely some variety of shepherd mix and is a girl so I took to calling her Astolfo.

I examined her body today and included some pics of what are the most damaged areas on her. Aside from removing from ticks and having an obviously mangled face, she looks surprisingly good. No signs of bloat or other bugs. Blood was/is fresh red. If I am able to preserve her I'd sew her eyes shut since there's no saving them and I'd also wire her jaw. I want to have her curled up like she's sleeping. Yes I am aware this is ridiculously ambitious for a first project. No I will not start with something easier. I have to help her. I hope you understand.

Her one ear shows some blood inside, her eyes seemed to be obliterated then frozen over, some teeth are knocked loose and her jaw looks broken. Two of her nipples look peculiar which is what I'm most concerned about being the potential early sign of decay.

NOTE: The small teeth looking things are gravel I used to weigh down the puppy pad before I got her frozen body out there. They are not part of her body.

Hello everyone! It's been a hot minute since I was last here. Well... according to google it's been about 1,051,200 or so, but who's counting? I used to roam the RAOA lands far and wide for a couple years. Met some great people, shared some laughs, and then POOF I disappeared! As much as I'd like to tell you my reason for departure was because I was out having some amazing adventures, the truth of it all is that life happened and I got super busy. The end. 🤷‍♀️
Anyway! A little about me... I'm in my early 30's. I'm obsessed with dogs, and would fund a dog rescue farm of my own if I ever won the lottery. 🤞 I have a senior chihuahua mix and I just got a baby corgi a few weeks ago (she is a beautiful, crazy, loving, terrorizing handful of a monster!) I enjoy collecting enamel pins, binge watching sitcoms, true crime or trash tv, crafts, journaling, board games, and the occasional video game now and then. I was big into Animal Crossing for a good while there, and now I'm currently obsessed with Disney Dreamlight Valley. Sims 4 is always a favorite of mine as well.
I'm happy to see some people I knew from way back when are still here, and I'm excited to meet some new people too!

I just noticed this sore today. I vaguely recall him having what appeared to be a pimple in that area last year or so, but it seemed to heal. The sore doesn’t seem to bother him when I touch it. It feels firm underneath. No pmh.

Ive been wanting to adopt a dog for a while now, but my girlfriends chihuahua mix has prevented me from bringing my own furry friends home. We have been working with him often, taking him out in social settings, bringing treats to reward good social behavior. The thing is, as soon as the little guy gets nervous he wont take a treat! If there is another dog in sight, or a strange looking human, there is no obedience from him. He wont even take chicken bits we make for him.
We have done controlled meetings at the humane society with other dogs, to see how he would react in a controlled setting with different dogs. it all seems to go on about the same. He barks, calms down, then lunges and barks again. We cant even let him sniff other dogs because he will lunge once he gets close enough.
Any tips on socializing a 3 y/o chihuahua mix? What treats do you guys use that are absolutely irresistible?

I don't even know where to start…I have a 14 year old yorkie (turning 15 next month) who has a mammary gland tumor what has now spread all over her body. I keep finding new tiny cancer thingies on her skin (like on her head, tail etc). Her stomach is also harder in some places and looks roundish/bloated with blue veins. She got diagnosed with that cancer ~4 years ago, vet told me then not to touch it, because it might get worse and x ray showed that cancer is starting to spead into her intestines…
Sometimes she has diarrhea that looks like jelly because of the cancer…I've been giving her 1.5mg painkiller (it's so strong that I can only give it once per day), it seems to work but it's so strong that it can give her more diarrhea… anyway she's sleeping so much more, she's on day 3 with diarrhea (I gave her painkiller 3 days ago), I keep feeding her rice mixed with wet food but she does not have the same appetite as she used to.
Daisy also has dementia and sometimes doesn't feel when she accidentally pushes out a tiny 💩. She paces around the apartment, sometimes gets lost in the dark or gets stuck behind a door.
I've been having mental breakdowns because it's just so hard for me. I don't wanna lose her, she's been there for me since I was 10 years old, she was the reason I decided not to delete myself but I also don't want her to suffer.
She has suffered for almost half of her life. Please don't come at me for that, I was a child growing up in a abusive home and didn't know any better!
She had a really bad tooth/gum infection that rotted roots and no vet in the city didn't notice it or they simply did not care. When she was 8 or 9 she was in so much pain that she was constantly crying and I went to a vet in the countryside and she noticed straight away what was the issue. She pulled 9 of her teeth out and got her antibiotics. Daisy was like a whole different dog - ate more, played more etc❤️
Her condition has gotten little bit worse in 6months, like she ages so fast…
I'm a mess…am I overthinking it and she's actually fine?
I know that when the time comes and I need to put her to sleep, it's gonna hit me like a ton of bricks and I'm gonna be a huge mess…like I'm already crying just by thinking about it…

My husband brought our female dog home December of 2019, she was 8 weeks old. Her name is Amaya and she is a mix between a Chihuahua and Dachshund. She is great with my kids, loves my husband and I, but if you step in my house without someone she approves of she will attack you. The pest control guy for my apartment complex has gotten close to being bit twice before listening about entering my home uninvited. If you walk in with someone she is familiar with she will bark and keep her distance but not bite. During Covid we had little contact with anyone for the whole year of 2020 due to my sons low immune system. That year she probably saw 10 people at most and only those 10. I honestly didn’t realize we had a problem until we started socializing again mid 2021. When she is around strangers in or out the house she stays glued to my side. If you get to close to me she will snap and try to bite. She is a smart but stubborn dog. I think it’s the dachshund in her but she has an attitude if that makes sense. I would like to work on correcting this behavior but haven’t had any luck. Any advice would help.

My dog is yorkie and she seems to adore every mini schnauzer we meet!! I don’t know why lol!! Every schnauzer we’ve met she’s just taken to really well ! Her best dog friend is what appears to be a terrier schnauzer mix lol. I keep joking that if she were to have her own dog she’d have a mini schnauzer 🤣 I know it’s probably all coincidence but it’s still really interesting! So what kind of dog do you have and what dog breed do they seem to really like for some reason!!
