2023.06.05 16:39 UneducatedReviews1 No more resting players

I want to be optimist about Pedro but him resting Romy game one against Detroit after a day off and then resting Moncada game three with an off day the day after isn’t making much sense to me. I get we need to rest guys but with the days off we have coming up, none of the core players should see any rest time without reason.

2023.06.05 16:38 Cwall41289 Laguna Beach - Season 2 - Cast Interviews Part 1

Back again with resharing some information from the DVDs.
Laguna beach season 2: cast interviews (filmed after season 2 aired) Splitting them in half because there is a lot to cover.
Alex M Alex’s and Jason’s parents have worked together, so she’s known him forever. Never thought of him as a boyfriend type. Wasn’t sure what drew her to him other than that he’s a bad boy and girls like that. Felt they made better friends vs relationship. Says she asked Jessica ahead of time about dating Jason and Jessica was cool about it and said she was over Jason. Regrets how she handled the situation with Jessica in Cabo, but that it needed to be said. Felt Jessica wouldn’t apologize and was just egging her on, which made her more upset. Thought Jessica was in the wrong at Fight the Slide, and felt that Jessica just did that for attention and not that she actually liked Jason. Gave Lauren props for how she handled herself. Was suppose to room with Taylor at the University of Arizona, but decided to move to LA go to school up there and pursue music. Alex’s dad, brother and some other family members are all musicians. Her performing at Fight the Slide was the first time her producer saw her perform live, thought it went well. Thinks her and Taylor will be life long friends (spoiler - it seems like they are lol).
Taylor Says her and Talan were just playing games with one another and she liked the attention he gave her. But once she got it, she wouldn’t like him again and repeat the cycle. Doesn’t know why Kristin doesn’t like her. Thinks it’s because Kristin is threatened by her and that Taylor won’t go along with things Kristin says or does (wish she would have elaborate more here). Also, isn’t sure if she doesn’t like her because of Talan. Taylor says she thought Kristin knew that Taylor wasn’t really into Talan and it was a game, and that Kristin was also playing games with Talan. Says They can be cordial with one another. Says both Alex’s used to be besties and fell out over hurt feelings on both sides, but they are good now.
Kristin Likes being the narrator. Felt that she was ganged up in the first season by Lauren. Said when Stephen first went off to college, her and Stephen tried to make things work, by acting together, but not labeling it. After two months she broke it off, as it was emotionally hard. Said that first episode where they meet up all the emotions were real and it wasn’t acting (her words). After Christmas, Stephen was primarily the one reaching out to Kristin. Says she didn’t get a new boyfriend until early December, so by then they hadn’t really been together. So she didn’t think he would be as upset. Kristin didn’t like Jessica and Jason’s relationship, Kristin knew Jason cheated on her, and told her a bunch and she never believed her. Kristin was shocked by Jason and Jessica kissing at fight the slide. Wasn’t sure why Jessica did that when she knew Jason was with Lauren. Thinks Talan is a sweet guy, but that’s it. Thinks Talan was serious about her at prom that’s why he was upset, when Kristin didn’t feel the same way. All is good now with Talan. Kristin says her and Taylor have always been awkward. Taylor never had opened up to Kristin and they’ve always been more acquaintances. Regrets things she’s said about Taylor in the season. Said Taylor never really did anything her. Says her and Taylor have similar personalities and that’s why they didn’t get along/open up each othefriends.
Stephen Wasn’t surprised Kristin had a new boy friend (at Christmas). He tried to date up in SF, but hadn’t found anyone. Says they were very on and off. Says they were both hooking up with other people throughout the season. When she came up to SF he knew it was really over with her then. That they were both going down different paths and better off friends. Does say they both cheated on each other during their relationship and he learned a lot. Doesn’t regret anything and he learned a lot from it. Says he didn’t talk or hang with Lauren much when they were both in San Francisco. Said Lauren gave up on San Francisco, pretty much immediately within the first few weeks and was going to go back at the end of the semester. Was disappointed in her and felt she was relying on her parents too much. Said Lauren didn’t make any friends in San Francisco and that the people were too ā€œartsyā€ for her. Felt bad he didn’t hang with her more up there. Says Lauren seemed happier once she got back to Laguna. Says him and Lauren hung up all during winter break and then went to cabo together for her birthday. Says they are friends and sometimes would take things to the next level (implied in Cabo and other times), but then immediately take things back down again. SAys they are good friends who went through some bumps in the road and are good friends again. Doesn’t see them going to the next level. Was very surprised by Lauren and Jason dating. wasn’t gonna warn her about jason because he’s a guy and is on Jason’s side. Says the Jenn Bunneys of the world can tell her how he is. Says Lauren will learn herself and not his business. He was really disappointed in Jessica and Jason, more so with Jessica. Says Lauren stood her ground and was proud of her. says Jason and Jessica acted really immature. Goes on about being disappointed in Jessica and said it was low class.

2023.06.05 16:38 nogre [PC][1996-2000] 1st person action adventure platformer

Hi. I'm trying to figure out a game my dad played.
Platform(s): Windows PC
Genre: 1st person 3D action adventure platformer. I think you were trying to escape a factory run by a madman, and you had to perform a bunch of platforming tasks to get out.
Estimated year of release: Late 1990s
Graphics/art style: Realistic, and maybe a bit grim. I think this game had a bit of high-tech military gear in it, so it was going for a more realism to sell the military feel.
Notable characters: This game had a "live video feed" of someone that would help you. This was an actual recorded video: not a computer generated graphic, but clips of scenes with an actor. She was a woman on a headset in a control room. I think videos of the enemy, some bad guy, would also be played once in a while to taunt you; again, this video was live acted. I have a feeling that maybe the bad guy got to the woman in the control room at some point, but I can't be certain.
Notable gameplay mechanics: Best memory of gameplay is on a conveyor belt in a factory -- so an on-rails experience, at least in this part -- having to dodge fire and possibly grenades from enemies. The goal was to get to an elevator shaft, perhaps in the center of the room, to escape.
Other details: My dad loved Tomb Raider, so this may be similar.

2023.06.05 16:38 TheDoomedHeretic Dragon Age: The Elf Who Ran.

Primarily looking for a story that takes place during the events of Inquisition or Origins with a similar starting stage of the games; we'd be following the road of a runaway elven mage from Tevinter with all the implication that carries. I am looking for a GM for this story.
I'm a novella writer and have writing samples on my profile; details are best explored in DMs. Thanks.

2023.06.05 16:38 jkhunter2000 Is it 3200 MHz or ram still okay?

I currently have Kingston HyperX Fury 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory and i'm thinking to make the jump to 32gb now. My PC is fully turned into my primary gaming console now and everything has always ran fine but is 3200 MHz ram still okay or when I upgrade should I get 3600 MHz?
I know if I put them all it it'll run at 3200 i'm just thinking more long term. Idk if 3200 is now some kind of outdated speed or something

2023.06.05 16:37 TheDavinciChode88 I Just Realized The Lakers Rotation From The 08 Finals...(Seems 09 Was a Major Turning Point in the Leauge)

Kobe
Gasol
Odom
Fisher
Vujacic
Farmar
Turiaf
Vlad Rad

WOW

Luke Walton even stole a few minutes here and there.

The 2008 Spurs WCF rotation wasn't much to sneeze at either.
Duncan
Parker
Ginoboli (hurt? only 12 points a game)
Brent Barry played the 4th most minutes.
Bowen
Finley
Thomas

The last 4 were all on their last legs and over the hill.
------
Flash forward to 2009
Cavs were better with LBJ winning MVP
Lakers added Bynum to the rotation and Ariza improved
Nuggets were good
Celtics were a powerhouse with Rondo becoming a borderline star before KG injury
Magic had two all stars and made the finals (I think Jameer was an all-star that year?)
The Rockets with Yao, Artest, and McGrady were great, and even took the lakers to 7 games without McGrady and yao for the last few games
Even the Jazz who lost in the first round to the Lakers had D-will, Boozer, Kirolenko

-----
It just seems like the top teams were just better from 09 to 08 and that the league had more talent...or am I just over-simplifying things?

I can't imagine Vujacic, Walton, Vlad Rad, and Turiaf being finals rotation players. Or maybe it's just recency bias. The Heat have a bunch of "who the F is that?" type guys.

Fisher was always a great role player, but rad, sasha, and walton? that's rough

2023.06.05 16:37 PistachioProblems Any Indie Games With Exeter Book-Inspired Riddles?

Hey Reddit! I am looking for video games that are inspired by the riddles from the Exeter Book, a collection of Anglo-Saxon poetry written in the 10th century.
Generally speaking, the Exeter Book riddles are spoken by an inanimate object/concept that gives cryptic information about itself and asks the reader some form of the question ā€œwho am I?ā€ usually at the end. One of the most popular, riddle 1, begins with ā€œWhich of you heroes is so sharp-witted / and so mind-crafty, who can speak / aloud about who impels me on this missionā€ and ends with ā€œSay what covers me, / or what I am called, who bears these burdens.ā€
You can read the riddles here: https://oldenglishpoetry.camden.rutgers.edu/exeter-book-riddles/
The riddles could be spoken by an antagonist, the omniscient game/instruction text, or be built into the world somehow. I am looking specifically for indie games, but bigger names are welcome too. I’d even appreciate games of any sort that have textual/spoken riddles in general (think stuff that the Riddler would say, or that would appear in The Lord of the Rings).
I know this is a pretty niche topic, but I am curious to see if anyone has come across any references. Thanks in advance <3

2023.06.05 16:37 Altinzzz Lenovo ThinkPad T460s for 135 EURO worth it?

Is a Lenovo ThinkPad t460s for 135EURO worth it?
I haven't really been looking much at the market for pc/laptop prices etc., so was a little surprised by how little it costs but that seems to be the case with a lot of other laptops as well.
Not new products so most likely used. I live in the Balkan, EU.
Specs:
Processor: i7-6600U
Ram: 12GB DDR4
Drive: SSD 256GB INTEL M.2 NVM Express
Graphics: Intel UHD GRAPHICS 520
Will use mostly for programming with some JS, React but also some games from time to time like Rocket League, Football Manager etc.
Good and bad reasons for this laptop?
Thanks in advance!

2023.06.05 16:37 phanzov36 Guidance on Zonai fan (early game, seeking spoiler free tips)

Hi all, I'm still very early in the game on Great Sky Island. I discovered the little cave with the bulbs and walked through it to the area with the constructs and the broken raft.
The one construct talks about striking the Zonai device fan to turn it on at any time and mentions an "energy cell" depleting. The camera pans to Link's pants where I presume I'm supposed to have some device that I haven't yet found. I've tried striking the fans multiple ways and they don't turn on. I have only done one shrine so far.
Can someone confirm if I just need to do some other shrines/explore the other parts of the island first before coming back to this section?
I don't remember any sections feeling this confusing/restrictive in BOTW so early on, but I did log several hundred hours in there so maybe there was something...

2023.06.05 16:37 BeltwayHH Need Advice

So, I'm an average fighting game enjoyer (started my career with MK4 on pc, Tekken 5 on PS2, Tekken 6, MK vs DCU, MK9, MKX on PS3, and at last I only played SF x Tekken, Tekken 7 for a while, MK11 on pc) I liked SF x Tekken when I was playing it and now as a returning player, I really have a hard time about combos. Especially the lack of standard combos (like you use only punch-kick buttons) and not being able to use many of them with specials. I was using classic controls on SF x Tekken but I used a keyboard back then. Now playing with a controller is sometimes very good but I really don't understand some inputs even though I read them in-game (for example how do I do Kikoken with classic controls? tried so many things but still can't do it). I can do supers etc but they are inconsistent (usually supers because they need to be very quick and in a fight it can be very hard to do it which usually I jump instead of doing the move). Right now I use modern controls but they are so boring to play with and the game removes some standard combos which most of them are good and you know, variety is good.
Shortly, what should I do with controls? Should I stick with modern or is there anyone who can guide me for more comfortable settings to play with classic controls (btw I was using custom controls on SF x Tekken (like hitting 3 buttons at the same time with only 1 button) but forgot them since they are at least 7 years old).
+I was Juri main in SF x Tekken and I'm talking about World Tour in this post.

2023.06.05 16:37 dirtyoldsocklife Still going strong.

Love this game. Just lowered the level to tier 1 and suddenly it's just more fun. Still keeps me on my toes but it's no longer a slog just to clear a dungeon. Barely even scratched the surface of all the stuff to do and I've only started two of the five classes, so this shit is gonna keep me for years.
In fact I can't even comprehend how some of you are burned out already. Did you powerplay so hard that you killed the game for yourselves BEFORE LAUNCH?!
That's some serious dedication to...something.

2023.06.05 16:37 Healthy-Activity2244 Why is the game so bad during SC and when will CM fix this?

I keep seeing a lot of people come up with crazy ideas to make F1 games better, but in my opinion there are a few very fundamental aspects of the game that need to be improved before the developers start working on more content and additions, the basics are more important than unnecessary additions.
- the AI drivers during Safety Car are awful. They do not pit even pit or change their strategy. You really do not need any complex coding to fix this. The game can already calculate what the optimal strategy is before the start of the race, implementing AI strategists doing this for your opponents during a race surely wouldn't be that complicated.
- Cars retire in the middle of the track all the time and most of the time no VSC or SC will happen. It's another unrealistic aspect. How does the driver get out of the car and how will the hazard be cleared without VSC or SC? Maybe that's just me, but imo these things affect the realism a lot in a negative way.
---
This could be another post, I'll keep it short: another problem is that the calendar stays the same every season in career mode. Give me the possibility to change the order of the races to keep things fresh. How hard is it to include this feature in the game?
No need to give us historic tracks or bonus tracks. Give us a track editor, even a very basic one that only lets you create a course so that we can add new races during career mode and keep things fresh.
I don't really care if I won't be able to add a skyscraper 5 miles away from the track or an ambulance behind the barriers, a very basic track editor would be enough, I only care about the course I'm driving, Gran Turismo (I don't remember which one) had a track editor and it worked just fine.
Imo, these improvements would make a huge difference and the game would be 30% better.

Since I am for example good at remembering names of people and places etc but this is not an interest of any kind. I also have interests in gaming and football. Veteran British theater and TV actor, Hugh Sachs Talks Playing Brimsley in ā€˜Bridgerton’ and ā€˜Queen Charlotte’
Shondaland VV: What attracted you to the role of Brimsley?
HUGH SACHS: I mean, there wasn’t much on the page. I give the queen a piece of gossip in the second episode, and then most of it was just variations of ā€œYes, your majesty.ā€ But I wanted to work with Golda, and I wanted to be in something that was going to change television.
HUGH SACHS: One of the things I’ve loved about being in these shows is how they keep challenging the industry. I was really hoping season two would be as successful as it was because, as a gay man, having a leading actor [Jonathan Bailey] who was openly gay playing a straight romantic lead and it not being an issue was amazing to see. I knew it could change our industry — all those young actors who I know have been told to keep quiet can now point at Jonny and go, ā€œNope, it doesn’t harm your career.ā€ Season one changed the racial politics of costume drama; season two changed sexual politics in our industry. It is moving the conversation.

Shondaland VV: And now in Queen Charlotte, we find out so much more about who Brimsley is and how his own sexual politics play out in this world.
HUGH SACHS: What’s so funny is, as an actor, you do a backstory with your character. So, all that standing about in season one and two, I was thinking, ā€œOkay, so this is his family, and this is where he’s from, etcetera.ā€ And then Shonda comes up with something far more interesting! People keep asking what happened to Brimsley and Reynolds, and I just go, ā€œI’m saying nothing because whatever I come up with would be nothing compared to if Shonda ever approached that question!ā€

Shondaland VV: Can you tell us about getting the role of Brimsley?
HUGH SACHS: I went in for two roles: the Duke of Hastings’ servant and Brimsley. I read a couple of lines, and then I completely forgot about it. Because we don’t do romantic fiction; we do Austen or Dickens. Then they rang and said that they’d like me to play Brimsley. I asked who Charlotte was going to be played by, and they told me Golda, and that was the first I knew of its intentions to be inclusive. I got the six episodes, and I thought, ā€œI’ll read two today and do the other four tomorrow.ā€ I read all six in one sitting. I just thought, ā€œThey know how to keep you hooked; they really know what they’re doing.ā€

Shondaland VV: When did you know that Brimsley was going to be young Brimsley?
HUGH SACHS: Tom Verica [the director] sent me an email saying he was so pleased that I was going to be in Queen Charlotte, but I knew nothing about it at that point. They wanted a picture of me in my 20s, which I hated having my photo taken, so I rummaged through and found my drama school graduate picture. They sent me the picture of Sam Clemmett, and I was massively flattered. But I wasn’t sure if Sam was! [Laughs.]

Shondaland VV: What were your conversations like with Tom and with Shonda about bringing Brimsley to life in Queen Charlotte?
HUGH SACHS: Tom [the director] always liked Brimsley, I think. When we were doing Bridgerton, he’d say to me, ā€œI just want to know more about him.ā€ I don’t know what I was doing that made Brimsley so fascinating [laughs]. Like I’ve said, when I first signed on, I didn’t realize that young Brimsley was going to be such a big part of Queen Charlotte. But when I got those scripts, I read them like they were crack cocaine because I was finally finding out about who I was. I make this rather facile joke that I thought I’d been giving peak Idris Elba heterosexual butchness for two seasons, so I don’t know where Shonda got the idea that Brimsley was gay, and that always makes people laugh really loudly. But I am thrilled with it all.

Shondaland VV: Did you meet Sam Clemmett to talk about him taking on the role of young Brimsley?
HUGH SACHS: I met Sam at the read-through, and we just bonded immediately. It was like having a new nephew. And because he’d done two years in Harry Potter, I knew we’d speak the same language, as we’re both theater creatures. We met about three times after that, but from the beginning, I said, ā€œIt’s yours. Do with it whatever you like.ā€ I didn’t want him to feel in any way beholden to me. I said, ā€œYou’re starting his story; you do whatever you like.ā€ I just wanted him to have that freedom.
HUGH SACHS: What I find fascinating is that of the four of us who cross over from Bridgerton, you knew the least about Brimsley, so therefore, you get to know the most about him in Queen Charlotte. Adjoa, Golda, and me got to watch three scenes, and it was incredibly moving because they had established those women as strong, powerful, matriarchal, bright, witty women, and to see Arsema and India, these really delicate, sort of not yet fully formed young people — the three of us were just in floods of tears. It was almost like watching home videos, remembering when I was that young and life hadn’t hit me yet. I was struck about how emotional it was to see that.

Shondaland VV: Was there much difference performing with Golda in Queen Charlotte compared to Bridgerton?
HUGH SACHS: There was a lot more eye contact! Normally, she’s throwing orders over her shoulder because I’m always five feet behind her, but in Queen Charlotte there’s more talking between the two.
HUGH SACHS: That first scene when I’m talking to her about her daughters and we are eyeballing each other and she’s not bollocking me, she’s actually listening to what I’m saying, it was moving because with the pandemic and Covid protocols, I suddenly felt like it was the first bit of acting I’d done for about four years since most of what I get to do is respond to her orders. Golda, Tom, and I all hugged after that scene.
HUGH SACHS: Tom is a really good actor, but a brilliant director, and I think subconsciously we’d all been waiting for a moment like this where we got to explore these characters together in a more in-depth way. I love these meaty moments I get to have with Golda. Tom is so generous as a director — he sees everybody and creates this really warm, creative set. A lot of the crew from Bridgerton were there, so it was great to really flex those muscles with all of us in the room.

Shondaland VV: The in-depth exploration of these characters is no joke in Queen Charlotte. How did you approach it, specifically between you and your charge, the queen?
HUGH SACHS: One of the arcs of Queen Charlotte is the ricochet effect that George’s illness has on everybody. I’m sure it’s part of the reason Reynolds and Brimsley don’t stay together in the end. It certainly dominated her life — her desire to look after him and to get an heir meant she may not have been the best mother possible.
HUGH SACHS: There’s that beautiful scene when I tell her that her daughters are not getting married not because they’re being difficult or willful, but because they don’t want to leave her here alone while George is still alive, and that it’s an extraordinary act of love, what they’re doing. She thinks they’re just trying to be irritating, and I’m telling her that’s not who they are. George’s illness has affected her, it’s affected Brimsley, it’s affected her children. It was lovely to have those moments where I was not telling her off but just explaining that because I have watched these children grow up, I know a little bit about what they’re going through.

Shondaland VV: I guess it’s like that situation when you’re really good friends with somebody, you can say the hard things.
HUGH SACHS: Well, yes, or say nothing. Like that moment when Charlotte says, ā€œI was a good mother,ā€ and I don’t say anything. I’m basically saying in that moment of silence, ā€œYou are not a bad mother, but your children have a point. And I’m here to say, ā€˜Just give them a breathing space; they’re good kids.ā€™ā€

Shondaland VV: It’s so interesting to hear you speak as Brimsley this way because it’s more like you’re her husband. Or at least, filling in for a role that George hasn’t been able to do because of his illness. Brimsley is like Queen Charlotte’s work husband!
HUGH SACHS: She will see Brimsley more than she will see George. Even though it’s a servant-master relationship, Brimsley was there from the beginning to guide her into this weird world. Lesser writers would’ve given the queen a sentimental moment to encapsulate that, but she just is absolutely who she is, and I’m absolutely who I am — living my life on tiptoes going, ā€œWhat kind of mood is she in today?ā€ But actually, because of the longevity, he will give her advice and go, ā€œLook, be easy on these kids.ā€
HUGH SACHS: But the stress she’s under, I mean, not only is she the monarch, but she’s also raising her family, and she’s got to find an heir. It’s sort of like she’s the CEO of three of the biggest companies on the planet. And when one is under that pressure, some of the kindness gets rubbed off at the sides, and her kids get it in the neck. Brimsley has that moment when he says that everyone here cares for the king, so we are all in this together — we are all tiptoeing around his illness, and we need to look after each other.

Hugh Sachs: The Queen will see Brimsley more than she will see George. ...because of the longevity, he will give her advice and go, ā€œLook, be easy on these kids.ā€

Shondaland VV: You’ve been acting for a long time, but have you ever had this sort of level of global recognition?
HUGH SACHS: I was in a really popular sitcom here for five seasons called Benidorm on ITV, which was loved by the people for whom it was made — mainly white, working-class people who holiday in that part of Spain. I left that show in 2011, and they carried on for another five seasons. People recognize me for that all the time here, which is weird. But I think it’s because Netflix bought it six months before lockdown, and lots of people started watching it from the start. I never thought I’d be on television, if I’m honest. I never saw anyone like me. I thought I’d just do plays, but now I’m in the second biggest series ever. I have this theory that if you want millions of viewers, it should have a single title, begin with a B, and I should be in it [laughs]. So, the whole experience of being in these shows is extraordinary; I’m still slightly bemused by it, really.

Shondaland VV: What has it been like to see how much the Bridgerverse has grown in popularity?
HUGH SACHS: What I love is that you don’t have to explain what it is. When I say I’m in Bridgerton, even though some people haven’t watched it, they know exactly what it is all about. That’s a real thrill. I tell people it is the equivalent of a long, hot bath with lots of candles and bath oil listening to your favorite album. People need distraction. We love the gritty crime dramas and the toxic family sagas, but Bridgerton is this world we all didn’t know we needed. The main thing is the joy that people get from it. And now I’ve had the thrill of finding out who I am in the spin-off. Who’d have thought when I went into that interview that we’d be here, four years later, talking about young Brimsley?
HUGH SACHS: I don’t think this would’ve happened on British television. It took Shonda Rhimes to go, ā€˜I’m going to take this genre, and I’m going to make it look like the world we live in.’ I have been waiting 30 years for this. See, above me at drama school was Jennifer Ehle, who did Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth. And in the trajectory of an English actor’s life, it was a huge boost to do a costume drama. In my year, there were six people of color, and I thought it was so unfair that they wouldn’t get any access. That whole generation — Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Sophie Okonedo, Adrian Lester — they all missed out on these opportunities. Now, no one can do all-white costume dramas. And that’s because of Shonda.

Shondaland VV: It will be so interesting to see how people read Brimsley in season three of Bridgerton and beyond because of all the backstory we’ve gotten.
HUGH SACHS: It’s like I say to my mates, if you ever go in for a walk-on in a Shondaland production, take it! You have no idea where you are going to end up.

2023.06.05 16:37 The_Potato_Problem What was your first Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons game?

This is just going to expose how new I am to the fandom, but whatever.
My first introduction to the Harvest Moon series was Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town. And my first Rune Factory game was Rune Factory 4 Special.
