My Mom was a beautiful woman and loved us kids unconditionally. When Trump lost the election, there was almost an instant switch in her. She was quiet and sullen for days and even weeks. Then she started to come out of her shell a little. It just started with a remark here and there about Trump coming back or there is a drop happening that day or she only used an internet source called duck (I believe that's what it was called) or whatever from a vilified source. No one knew what the actual hell she talking about but we just let her have it as it seemed to be making her come alive again.
Then, two years later and it just kept getting worse to the point that I did not have hardly a relationship with her and I lived in the same house as her. It became harder and harder for me to want to come home. One night, my mom had covid and she said she had a headache and we told her to get some sleep. My Mom went to sleep and in the morning when we tried to wake her hours after we knew it was odd for her to still be asleep, she wasn't waking but still breathing. She had an embolism that hit her cerebral cortex and it was a matter of time before she just stopped breathing.
I feel the upmost extreme guilt for not continuing a real relationship or explaining my feelings or really trying to do anything to help her with her mental state. I didn't know anything about this QAnon until months after she passed away. All I can say now is absolutely fuck every one of those people for turning my mother into someone who was becoming steadily unstable. I had a fear at times she was becoming too extreme and I felt like something COULD happen but never believed she would take it that far. At this point, I'm almost relieved she had passed when she did as she didn't have to see all this dumb bullshit with Trump and listening to even more conspiracies. I'm so hurt and upset that I couldn't fully love my mother in those last two years and how she wasn't the same person anymore. I just wanted my Mom but instead we had these fucks ruining everything. All I can do now is vent and turn my anger towards those invested and spreading hatred with QAnon and the ones mixing religion and these extreme political views together. Isn't religion supposed to be about love? Why the hell was this pastor Mom listened to talking about how everyone that didn't vote for Trump is evil and vile and should be eliminated from Earth?
I loathe you, false prophets and QAnon for destroying a beautiful person's mentality and tearing this family apart. I cannot explain the hatred I feel towards this cult. Fuck you.

2 days ago we were goofing around during our moving up ceremony practice when suddenly my friend accidentally punched my left knee causing it to dislocate (again lol). I was immediately brought to er and my mom was called by the school. I was x-rayed and was told that an orthopedic will arrive soon to treat my knee. Apparently he’ll arrive at 1:30 but we waited for more than an hour in the er. Eventually my mom lost patience and threatened the hospital to bring us an ambulance to transfer us to another hospital to treat my knee. But suddenly after she threatened the hospital the orthopedic arrived to our room. Mom suggested to cut my pants to see the dislocation but the doctor simply asked me where the pain is. He found where the dislocation is and simply moved the bones back to its place. It was painful and I screamed a lot. But afterwards I felt better and can somewhat move. The orthopedic warned that if it happens again, I’ll need a surgery to repaitighten the ligaments around my knee. Then we went home after ordering food from a fast food chain. It’s kind of surprising how I can still walk and climb up stairs. The first time it happened I was in so much pain, can barely move and had to stay in bed for most of the day during the early weeks of recovery. Knowing this, there’s now hope that I can attend and be with my batch on our moving up. Too bad I need to be more careful now and always wear a knee support when going out but that’s life I guess.

I (23F) live in a shared house with two other girls the same age. We're not friends, but I've never had any problem with them until now.
One of the girls 'Nancy' got a new job a month ago which requires her to wear a uniform. Since then, Nancy has started using the washer and dryer for her uniform multiple times a week. She comes home, puts the uniform in the washer, and when it's finished it goes into the dryer. As such, the clothes don't go into the dryer until about 10-11pm.
The problem is that my bedroom is right above the kitchen and the dryer is really noisy. I don't mind it during the day, but it keeps me awake at night. The first time it happened, I let it go but messaged her asking her not to put it on so late during the week. She agreed, but did it again the following week. That time I saw her in the kitchen, explained the problem, and asked her not to do it again. I offered her my drying rack and put it in the kitchen. Again, she said 'yeah no worries'.
A couple of nights ago at 11pm I had just turned off the light when I heard her go downstairs and put on the dryer, before running back upstairs and closing the door. I had a really important meeting super early the next day and was so angry. So I went downstairs, turned off the dryer, and went to sleep peacefully.
While I was at work in the morning she sent me an awful message calling me names and saying I had made her go to work in wet clothes and she was going to get pneumonia (it's summer where we are and is very warm at the moment). I told her I was sorry for that but that I had given her multiple warnings and I needed to sleep. I also said I would do the same in the future. She hasn't responded.

My LO is just 6mo and has been sleeping through the night 8pm-7am for a month or so. Occasionally she wakes around 4-5am to eat because she is hungry, which is fine, and it's very occasional. However since we started to up the amount of solid about a week ago, she takes a little less milk now. Before this shed drink 900-1000ml milk a day but now it's about 800ml. For a few days in a row now, she wakes up early around 4-6am, usually not crying but talking/yelling, and then 15-30min later she falls back asleep. Sometimes she wakes once only but sometimes twice. I didn't need to feed her, because she wasn't crying.
Her daytime naps are all over the place, I tried very hard to find a pattern and let her stick to it but there's no chance to succeed because her naps are most of the time short (30-45min) very occasionally long (>1hr) so I can't make her stick to it. She naps 4 times a day usually, because she can't stay awake much longer than 2hr. Her daytime naps totals to 2-3.5hr. But whether 2 or 3.5hr, she wakes around 5am anyways.
She has two teeth out already, so it can't be teething. She doesnt seem in pain during the day at home but she IS extra fussy at daycare these days.

Husband(49M) and I (46F) used to make a great team, but it's gone to hell in a hand basket over the last few years. I missed the fact that he was going to stop doing ANYTHING around the house. I refuse to schedule his appointments or do his laundry. His schedule is erratic and he is too picky on the order his shirts get hung up in the closet. He also pays all the household bills. But if I ask him to grab a gallon of milk at the store on the way home you would think I sent him on a mission for a rare gem.
Everyday I get up at 6:30 with our daughter to get her ready for school. He rolls out of bed just after 7. I make sure she is fed, has snack, homework, book, water, shoes etc for school and we are out the door at 7:40. I drop her off at school, drive to the post office for work (15 min) and head to the office. I have to leave work by 2:30 to be home before the bus. Then it's snack, homework, maybe 1 hr of down time before supper prep, baths, and bedtime prep. daughter has severe anxiety and I sit with her until she fLls asleep. Somewhere between 4 and 6 he announces he is done with work (unless he gets a phone call) and he sits in his recliner and turns on the TV. I can't get him to see that my being home with our daughter after school.does not give me more extra rime in my day. He refuses to help.with cooking, and complains that he eats out too much so doesn't want takeout. He doesn't understand why there are always dirty dishes in the sink, or why I haven't had the chance to vacuum or put laundry away. I have to schedule all the appointments for my daughter. I have to follow up with the school. I plan meals and buy the groceries. I am trying to get a summer schedule set, and he refuses to sit with me and look at the calendar- because he doesn't know where he will need to be for work. I am just so tired.
2 years ago I started a new job. Super flexibility, good pay, part-time 24-32 hours a week. I can WFH or at the office, any hours, I just need to make sure the job is done. Hubby is a sales manager, he goes to his customers/ spends time with employees and finishes his paperwork/communication from home (his desk is between our living room and dining areas). Every 3 weeks or so he is out of town Monday-Thursday. His work is full time plus. He will always answer his work calls, no matter the time, or what activity the family is doing. 2 or 3 times a year he travels out of state for Corporate events- training and fun events, 1 week a year he has a guys vacation (hunting trip). 3 years ago I was working a full-time job (32 hours a week, our daughter (now 9) was in full time daycare, my disabled mom was living with us, she had helpers that regularly came to the house. Hubby had the same job, but was not managing others yet.

I’m on the verge of losing it all, and I have nowhere to turn.
Some (long, but) necessary background:
I (M24) have been unemployed and unable to find work since I graduated university in May 2021 with a BA in Public Relations.
I went to a top 20 public university, but never utilized any of the career center’s guidance or academic advisory help - for most of college I was majorly depressed and didn’t leave my room unless it was to go to the gym or go out drinking with friends (I also skipped class to sleep / nap often).
I moved back home with my parents after college where I suffered from even worse anxiety and depression.
I barely left my room, my parents would berate me for not landing any jobs, all my friends had moved away, and to top it all off, I witnessed my older brother (27, still living at home) exhibit major psychosis after dealing with bipolar and schizophrenia for years.
He was having episode after episode, and more often than not they were violent, loud, and physical.
I was job searching while dealing with this in the household, occasionally having to call the cops when he became too violent, often saying he would k*ll my parents.
This was a very traumatic few months for me, being ‘trapped’ in the house with my brother, getting denied from job after job, and dealing with my very unsupportive parents who wouldn't listen to how I was being affected.
Within that year, I had a serving job for only month before quitting, I had a one-month unpaid internship, and I worked minimum wage at a gym for 1.5 months.
That was it.
In September 2022, after a year of job searching, I moved across the country with my bf. I still had no money, but he was super supportive and was willing to float me a couple months rent - I had high hopes that the job market in San Diego would be better than it was in New Jersey.
I figured a huge change would be good for me.
It’s now June 2023 - in a span of eight months, after applying and interviewing day after day, I only landed a part-time remote tutoring role (that's now done for the summer).
I’m applying every day to full-time positions in PR, marketing, communications, every writing-related, creative-related, and advertising-related field you can think of.
Since graduation, we're talking over 1000+ applications.
I've utilized LinkedIn, Indeed, my personal network, and my university's career portal. No luck.
I get denied from every part-time position as well: serving, bar backing, hosting, retail, working at Trader Joe’s, etc. - some after interviewing, and some not.
I have no money and going back to living with my parents and brother in NJ isn’t an option.
My bf has sat me down recently and discussed how he can’t fully support me for much longer, and that I’ll need a salary if I want our relationship to continue.
So, currently on the line: A place to live, food to eat, my sanity, and my relationship.
I struggle with major depression and anxiety that affects my energy-levels, I always feel like sleeping -no amount of coffee, ADHD medicine, or exercise solves the tiredness.
I’m on Wellbutrin (have tried Zoloft and Viibryd), I go to therapy, I go to the gym 5x a week, and I eat healthy, yet I still have no energy, low self-esteem, and such crippling anxiety that walking into a place to ask for a job makes me so dizzy and nervous.
Even though my back is up against the wall to get a job ASAP, my motivation and hope for the future is at an all-time-low.
What do I do? How do I get a job? How can I develop the motivation I need to pull myself out of drowning?

I'm rolling into day 5 sober (normally 1 day is good, 2-3 is pretty good, and 4 is real good for me) and had some disappointing ups and downs.
I was in a really negative headspace, went for a run down to this glacial river where I had run/swum the day before but struggled to swim in, and with more determination (and thinner shoes) plunged in to swim better and longer. I succeeded, and ran home feeling warm, even a little happy. It was 50* and a bit windy, just wearing shorts and thin shoes.
I promptly felt dark and very negative again, particularly about myself, I felt like a complete piece of shit. Everything from a job I want very badly and am technically qualified for (but the moderate, but real, responsibility of which would almost certainly overwhelm me and get me fired again) to a girl I want to date (similar situation) I just feel terrified and insecure about.
I compromised by making myself talk to and dance with the girl at this party (which went very well) and ask her if she'd like to join a group hike. Low key enough not to kill my anxiety or overwhelm her. lt seems like the topic of dating scares her off, and I'm curious why. I feel like I do the same thing.
Then I went in to the place I want to work, and having very diligently put myself in a strong mindset both through self talk and a strong run/lift/swim right before (so my post-swim endorphins would be pumping) asked to speak with the team I want to join and asked if I could volunteer.
I am completely sketched out by anything resembling commitment (for very good reasons) and quite frankly balked when they suggested I apply for one of the positions, instead asking if I could come volunteer. I think they really did not like hearing that, it sounded stupid to me anyway, because while that team all serves one very specific and common goal, each role is very different. It's like coming to a 5-star restaurant and saying I'm not sure if I want to be a chef or a server, can I volunteer here please.
I worked with one member of their team for over a year, and despite the pain & embarrassment of that interaction feel certain I have a case if only they will allow me to volunteer a while. I feel I'm too emotionally fragile to handle the job, but I think it's time I started taking baby steps.
I've had recurring nightmares in which I keep having to watch people I love die-and it's always my fault. I'm afraid of letting people down, but I see no way around the fact that I must embrace that as part of having a life. I can never fail in marriage, friendship, or work if I never take those things on. But that woman will never have me as her husband, my friends without me as a friend, and that company without me as its employee, if I don't try.
In the meantime, I started my own business doing the same thing. Think Chris Scott, just really small and (with a current clientele of zero hoping for 1-2 and a weekly revenue of $50-100) amateurish. But it's what I want to be doing, at least on some level. I don't know how to articulate it yet.
I am tired of the decades-long situation I've been in where I am clearly capable, but manage never to have found a good job.
After many hours of sadness, I visited some old friends as their son played a game, and played with them in the rain and cold wind for hours, keeping them entertained, lifting their spirits, and feeling much better and stronger about myself as a human being. I am a pretty good dancer, and their kids are big enough now to learn some of the dips and flips, but still small enough I can throw them around easily and safely. I felt much better about myself as I left.
I'll probably feel like shit tomorrow, too. But I'll run to the river anyway, swim even longer, have a cheat day on my caffeine as I play with those kids again before heading home for work and yet another attempt at "my life without alcohol".
More importantly, of my life with purpose, or all the responsibility and commitment I can reasonably handle.
Bottom line when it hurts and I can't remember any of that, though, is just keep trying man. And really dig into each and every joy every chance I get.
