Hi, I'm a 19M from Canada. I'm not looking for you guys to diagnose me, only a doctor can do that. But I want to know if my experience could be epilepsy as I've suspected it may be for many years now, or if it sounds very different and it is something else. Ever since the age of 10 or so, maybe earlier I really can't remember, I've had these experiences which are unusual, they seem like fainting, but when people with fainting issues describe fainting it doesn't sound much like what I have and there's usually some element that isn't there. I call it going 'pink and black' because first my vision goes blurred/pink, and then it goes black, and then it goes away. I'll describe some of the most noteworthy episodes. When I was in the seventh grade, I was working in the hallway with my friend during class, and we had laptops. I got up to go into the classroom, and right as I walked through the doorway of the room, I felt it coming on. I'll describe what they feel like in a second. I dropped the laptop. Everything was black until my vision came back, my teacher had moved me away from the laptop, and was holding me so I didn't fall. I don't remember him coming up to me. He asked if I was ok and I felt extremely embarrassed. I was worried I had damaged the laptop and my family might have to pay for it, but apparently the laptop was fine. My teacher said I was making loud noises, and was stomping on the laptop. I told my mom about it later, because it was very embarrassing and I needed her to help me figure out what happened. I wanted to cry after it happened. Other kids made fun of me for it. They called me the "zombie kid" cuz of the noises I was making. When I was around the same age, maybe a year or two difference I don't remember I was between 12 and 14, I was at a family gathering at my aunt's house, when I started to feel it. I was standing by the stairs, and supposedly fell over. My dad thought I was having a seizure and said I was shaking like someone having a seizure. He wanted me to go to the emergency room but I didn't want to and my mom thought it wasn't necessary and would just schedule a doctor's appointment. Now that I think about it, I believe this happened after the incident in class. My dad asked if I felt sick afterwards, because apparently that's common with seizures but I couldn't tell because it happened in front of loads of people which is very stressful and it made it hard to distinguish feeling ill from feeling embarrassed. I think I did feel sick tho, physically and not just emotionally but I'm not entirely sure. We went to the doctor a few days later and she said I likely have some sort of nutritional deficiency, like an iron or salt deficiency, and just told me to eat more salty foods. I don't know, we didn't follow up on that. My experience does not sound like that from what people who have been diagnosed with those experience and fainting is my only symptom. She didn't do any tests on my body to see if I had such a deficiency. In the eighth grade, I was sitting in class and my teacher asked a question which I put my hand up to answer. I started answering, when I started to feel it. My vision went pink and black, I'll explain that in a second, apparently I made some noises and then when my vision returned I had completely forgotten what had happened, but my teacher was looking at me like I was gonna say something, when I went 'awww crap ummmmmm...' and he got mad at me for saying crap. I tried to explain but he didn't buy it which made me feel terrible since I couldn't control it. I was sitting and so my movements would not have been very noticeable if there were any. I remember, around grade 9 or 10, I had a fainting spurt where I was alone in my room, and everything went pink and black, but once I regained consciousness I didn't regain my vision for enough time for me to genuinely worry I had gone blind. It was definitely no longer than 30 seconds. My vision is perfectly fine otherwise, this is proof that it's something happening in my brain. I also remember in class, all through middle school and high school, I'd forget details talked about in class completely, like they weren't even talked about and I think these 'fainting' spurts are to blame. They happen at least a few times every day, but most of the time it's not a problem and I don't even really notice. Often these would cause me to mess up assignments or lose marks. I've experienced what I call the 'ghost hand', where after a pink and black, one of my hands, and less commonly my leg, will just move on its own for a few seconds. I have vision when it happens. Ok so here's what a typical pink and black feels like: I'll just be doing whatever when suddenly I feel a bit fuzzy, and my vision starts blur into the pink phase. This is usually no longer than 10 seconds I think. Then it goes black, which can last from 5 seconds to however long it takes my teacher to run up to me from the other end of a classroom, move me away from a laptop and keep me from falling, which is probably no more than a minute. The longer ones I will forget what happened. I'll often be confused, forget what I was doing or what was happening, and sometimes even forget where I am, especially when it's dark outside. Usually I just feel a bit disoriented and forget what happened in the last ten seconds or so. Most pink and blacks I don't even really take note of because they happen so often. Sometimes afterwards my ears are ringing. I think they aren't as bad as they used to be, no embarrassing episodes have happened in several years I believe. I should note that I have autism which is supposedly correlated with epilepsy. I'm not sure if I should see a professional about it because it's not too big of an issue however I'd quite like to know what it is. I'm worried if I see one they'll just brush it off as not important or as just some minor ailment and they won't give me any real help. I've been learning to drive and worry the pink and black might cause me to get into an accident, though I'm not super worried about it, I could see it happening. I take Vyvanse for ADHD. Also while writing this I just felt a really minor one where it didn't go pink or black but I felt pressure in my head, the pink looked like it might form but didn't really it was just some tiny fuzziness. I was just sitting in my room on my phone. My ears are now ringing slightly. It kinda feels like when you get up after lying down for a long time and blood rushes to your head but way more intense, involuntary muscle movements, it happens nearly everyday, and has nothing to do with whether I'm getting up or moving or anything really. If you have any advice it would gladly be appreciated. Do these sound like seizures?

We’ve gone on a couple of dates and have been talking. This is a deal breaker for me tbh. He sent me some pictures where the furniture kinda looks effeminate and out of character for him lol. I’d like to find out before I develop more feelings for him.

I (26M) and my roommate (we’ll call him W) (26M) have lived together for 3 years. We’ve become great friends as a result - we hang out a couple times a week, game together, golf together, etc. We both share the apartment well, and often find ourselves hanging out multiple nights a week.
Well, at least we used to.
3 months ago, W entered a new relationship with a girl (we’ll call her S). She is sweet, kind, and pleasant to be around, but she is a time vampire. W and I live in a 2 bedroom apartment just over 1000 sq. ft. In the last 90 days S has essentially moved in. She is here EVERY day.
S arrives every day about 5 minutes after W gets home from work. They trash the kitchen, bogart the common living areas, etc. Half the time, they aren’t even doing anything together - W is just watching tv while S plays games on her phone and texts friends.
W has started to skip out out on activities we used to do together. He frequently cancels on scheduled plans. We hardly get to catch up on life anymore because she’s always over.
I’m aware that in newer relationships a sort of “honeymoon” phase is normal. I myself have been in a steady relationship for 2 years, but the way I handle my shared living situation is much different. My gf and I hang out a handful of nights a week and I always give W a heads up when we’ll be needing the living room to watch TV or have a movie night. That gesture is never reciprocated. At this point I just assume S will be staying over every night unless I’m told otherwise.
Every time he’s brought up S to me, he’s hinted at the idea that he doesn’t like how she is crowding his space. Things like “I really like her, but I would like 2 days a week to myself, you know?” Or “I feel like I can’t tell her not to come over if I don’t have a good excuse”. I want to share thoughts, but I’m not the type to insert myself into people’s affairs.
As his roommate, it’s annoying to feel confined to my bedroom all the time. It sucks having to clean up after them, constantly roaming around with headphones in and finding excuses just to leave the apartment. I feel like I’ve been strong-armed out of my own space just for being a nice guy.
As his friend, I miss him. I’m happy for him - assuming he’s happy, that is - but it doesn’t always feel that way. I’m moving in with my gf in a month, and I was really looking forward to having one last hurrah with W before we all packed up and moved. Now I barely get to talk to him.
I’m aware relationships change priorities. But disappearing off the face of the earth for a significant other is a slippery slope. I worry he isn’t able to stick up for himself and tell her to give him some space if he needs it.
I don’t want to stir any pots, but he’s alluded to missing his old life and his friends already. I don’t know if it’s better to speak up or just keep the peace. Would saying something make me the asshole? If not, what should I say?

I'm at the dr for a regular visit. And I still wear masks although they are no longer required.. So I'm in the room with the nurse going over my meds and stuff and she immediately covered her nose and backed away from me. I feel so bad because I hate that my odor is so offensive. But the crazy part is I have on a whole N95 mask and she still had to cover her nose. She left out my room so quick soon as she was done.
Like ugh what is this?!?
My oral care hygiene is great, I picked out some stones the other day and I only drink water for most of the day. No tests seem to have shown an issue that could cause it.
Like if my breath can overpower an N95 mask, either they don't work and I'm about to stop wearing them or I'm starting to think it's my body (which is also unlikely, I have great hygiene).

We have been renting from a property manager who is Indian, and I think the owner of the home (whom I’ve never met) is as well.
We rented for 2 years and came up to renew lease in May.
When he comes by, he clearly prefers to speak with my husband. However, if he must speak with me, he has been polite.
One week he offered us a 3 year renewal, but the next week he changed his mind and (per the lease) notified us we have 45 days to move out.
I think it is because I embarrassed him somehow.
Whenever the house had a problem (the washing machine wouldn’t drain, or the fence was falling) he always responded to our text messages immediately.
Last week, all the connected smoke alarms started going off. In every room, very, very loudly.
Because the alarms are wired, the only way to turn them off is to turn off the breakers to most of the house - including the fridge.
So if we stopped the noise, our food would spoil.
There were reasons we couldn’t just leave the house.
I texted the LL like normal, but put a red siren emoji in front.
Unusually, we didn’t hear from him for hours.
I googled his name and businesses. I texted about the situation two people he is in a business with. Not sure of it is in real estate or something else.
I mentioned that I was trying to get the message (I copied & pasted it) to Landlord and had texted the landlord hours prior.
Neither responded, but the landlord did reach out to us.
He never said a word about the other texts. But he was very angry that I had made it seem like an emergency, when it was not.
The alarm issue had happened a while back, but I fixed it by flipping a breaker.
The LL was extremely angry that I hadn’t told him about that incident. I explained I was trying to save everyone time & money.
He kept repeating that by fixing it and not telling him, the issue could have blown up into a huge, expensive problem without his knowledge.
He had sent us a text last week with a ‘we can rent to you for 3 more years at X rent and a Y increase next year. You need to fix the dead spot on the lawn.’
But now it’s just ‘get out’.
I emailed him to apologize and explain. I asked for another 2 weeks. Denied.
My husband emailed him and asked what had changed between last week and now - he did not receive an answer.
Beyond the pain of moving, my husband has to go to Washington state next week, for 3 weeks. His mom is having major surgery and he will be her caregiver. There is no one else and her surgery is too important to reschedule.
That means searching for a home, getting rid of stuff, packing & hiring movers - it’s all on my shoulders.
I am unfamiliar with the ins & outs of Indian culture.
I know culture in India is not monolithic; that there are different age & gender roles in all cultures. I understand that regions and religions differ, and in India, cast matters, too).
Is there anything my husband or I could do that would appease him so he would reverse this decision?
Any sort of gift or groveling or whatever?
TL; DR My husband and I seem to have made a businessman from India, our landlord, lose face in front of his colleagues.
We are losing our place to live because of it, as he changed his mind about renewing our lease. He even denied us an extra 2 weeks.
I’m trying to discover if there is any sort of symbolic gift, ritual, words that might help us get the opportunity back.
If it’s a lost cause and we should just quit trying, that would be good to know also.

Hey guys hey girls need help. So I was recently banned on Mercari. I have perfect 5-star ratings. I have sold over 70 items on the platform. And I recently inherited my aunt's estate. It's mainly jewelry and clothing she left me. I'm not complaining it's wonderful just some of it is not my style. I don't wear jewelry. So I've been trying to sell it. It's all designer jewelry. And I've had it authenticated by a jeweler here in my area. I've listed it on McCrory but I've gotten warnings that I have counterfeit items which that's ridiculous. I'm not going to pay the extra amount that they want me to pay to have their stupid company authenticated. I've already done that. I provided that in the pictures. But I know that people can go on your account and if they don't like you they can mark your items and report them whatever they want to. I have a psychotic woman who is my ex- husbands baby mama that stalks me. Not only in real life but also on the internet. Anyways she is the one that is reporting all my stuff and keeps getting it removed. I've spoken with customer service before and they've relisted all of my items but now over the weekend I get a notification that my account has been closed because of this. This is my only way of income right now I have a brain tumor. I'm not trying to promote a sob story here it's life I'm dealing with it. I've been sick majority of my life and I've overcome things. And I know many of us are in the same boat. I just can't leave that they would just go off of someone's report and anger I'm trying to get back at me and for what reason I don't know. I have a restraining order against her but for some reason it doesn't work on the internet. As my ex husband is a police officer. If anyone else has dealt with this before what did you do and how did you get your account reactivated? This is very frustrating.

i have always gone back and forth on having a kid. i love them, i always wanted to adopt, and now i’m a teacher. once i realized i couldn’t adopt for many reasons i decided i would be okay with having one kid in my early 30s if i’m in a healthy marriage. i am not stable mentally or financially right now. i only have a bf, granted it is on the serious side. i’m still young. i’m so fresh to my career. i’m certain a baby would blow up everything.
i’m already depressed, and now that i’m in a pregnancy scare i am spiraling. it’s so bad i have no motivation to eat, sleep, take care of myself, clean, work, etc. i can’t picture myself with a child right now. not only would it ruin my career, relationship, social life, but i’d become a laughing stock, and heavily looked down upon since i live in a very religious area. i try to be safe. we always pull out, i’m on the pill. we don’t even have sex that often anyway. i thought it was normal to not have your period while on the pill. i have not been having a period or very very very lightly spotting for the past 6 months. when i heard that’s not normal i started to spiral. i also recently learned about cryptic pregnancies and how people can be skinny and fit just like me, never put on weight or have a bump and suddenly give birth. i mean i’m not showing, and my weight is consistent, but i have no period, my breasts hurt sometimes, my discharge has been a little weird sometimes, i get lightheaded easily.
i haven’t taken a pregnancy test yet because i’m scared. i know regardless of taking it, if i’m pregnant i’m pregnant and it’s better to find out sooner than later. i just can hardly mov myself let alone face that reality right now. i have a tendency of being very paranoid and i hope that’s all this is but my brain is convinced i must be pregnant.

I (16F) have a really talkative dad. Like, he starts a whole conversation over a loaf of bread or something kind of person. I could be in the kitchen making a sandwich and he'd see me and start talking about a random thing he thought about. He tends to be so talkative that if we call him away from home the calls end up being 2 hours long at least. Every single time.
Now anyways, I would say I wake up pretty early usually (around 9am). My dad gets up at 5am. I hate it so much because if I wake up from a nightmare and I'm just staying still with my eyes open he passes by my room to check me and then starts asking what happened etc. I have told him it bothers me but that just makes him mad.
Last week, I woke up super early (5:30). I had to go to the bathroom pretty bad. I quickly ran there and back to my room to go back to sleep after. This has happened a few times since then and I've been able to escape dad. Today though he saw me and quickly started asking me loudly how I was awake and how I should make myself breakfast etc.
I have to admit I was really annoyed with him seeing me and then him being really loud so I just turned my back and walked to my room. He saw me again after I woke up and told me I was being rude and he is waiting for an apology. AITA? I was just so annoyed at having to tell him to be quieter (he never listens) and that I will be going back to sleep (he would never let me do so).

my parents are completely addicted to technology, my mom is on her phone with airpods in 24/7 and my dad is addicted to his laptop and watches tv every waking second of his life when he’s not at work (not kidding he will be watching tv from 9AM to about 10 minutes before he leaves for work)
my mom isn’t as bad as my dad is but you can’t have a conversation with her. i’ve sat next to her talking for a couple minutes and noticed she’s just scrolling through facebook liking posts. every time i ask her to take her airpods out so i could please ask her a question she always comes back with “but you wear airpods sometimes!!!!” true but only at night in my room. she recently confided that she would no longer be listening to me and that if i have something to get off my chest i will have to rely on my therapist
my dad is genuinely addicted. he watches tv for hours, mostly political stuff or “sovereign citizen” videos which in turn have made him the angriest motherfucker to walk the planet. i’ve tried to explain to him this kind of content is brain rot but he believes he is “exposing” liars or something to that effect. he has growled (not exaggerating) and shouted at the tv often. either that or history videos designed for middle schoolers and videos of half naked kpop stars (he’s in his 60s and it feels vile typing that). i’ve tried speaking with him and he only goes “mhm” at this point and i don’t believe he has ever genuinely absorbed anything i have said to him in years. my dad was a good dad when i was growing up but now the tv is his life. if there’s no tv, he’s on his laptop.
i had good parents until i was 16 or 17 when this started to really take over their lives. i miss the past sometimes for a lot of reasons but i had parents that would sometimes listen.

Ok so my(34f) wife(35f) and I have had some issues with her lying in the past about things that I've told her I was ok with, but she thinks would cause me unnecessary stress or worry etc. It was never anything that I wouldnt have been ok with if she had told the truth. We've discussed it at length and she has promised to always be honest and has been, as far as i know for the past year. Now comes my question. She is a tattoo artist and in the past the few lies were related to things she thought would make me uncomfortable about her job. She is a true professional, but i'll admit i did struggle with some aspects of it early on in our relationship. Recently a very regular client, who i actually know pretty well, who is about 15 years older than us asked for a tattoo on her pubic mound, my wife brought it up to me and said she'd decline if it would bother me. I told her it was fine by me, im not going to tell her how to do her job and as long as everything was kept professional and appropriate there's no issue. So that day we're talking about her day and I ask if the client numbed for her tattoo, she says "yeah she did but i had her put the cream on herself." I didn't think anything of it. I should add that i was in the shop that day, just not in the tattoo room with them. About a month later my wife and i are talking about doing a tattoo in the same spot on me and i ask her if she remembers how well the numbing cream worked on her client in that spot. She said she didn't know but I could ask the client. So I'm talking with the client/acquaintance about it and she says the words "she put the cream on" referring to my wife. Now, if she hadn't specifically told me she had the client put it on herself I wouldn't have thought anything of it but now I'm concerned that she's lying again. I asked her about it and she said that the client probably just didn't think anything of how she worded it but that she had the client rub the cream on and then she (my wife) put the saran wrap over it. She's adamant that she didn't lie to me and knows for a fact she had the client rub the cream on herself. She says she was worried the tattoo was going to bother me so she was just trying to do everything in her power to touch her as little as possible. The tattoo or anything pertaining to the tattoo process wouldn't have bothered me, it's her job and she was up front about everything with me beforehand. Realistically do i love that stuff like that is occasionally what she does at work? No, of course not, but i deal with it. I'm an adult lol. So I've brought up the concern that she's still lying a few times and she always promises she was telling the truth, that she sees how lying effected me much worse than the possible temporary discomfort of the situations she's in sometimes. And I want to believe her but my brain keeps wondering why her client would ever word something in a way that it didn't happen? We've discussed it a few times and I told her that if she did lie I would be understanding and appreciative if she told the truth now and she always says that she told me the truth from the start. I can't decide if I should just let this go and believe her since she's been consistently honest for the past year or if i should continue to push since my brain can't understand why the client would word it in a way that it didn't happen. Im stressing about it a lot because if she is lying about stuff like that again then we have some things to work on but if she's telling the truth I don't want to continue to make her feel like I still don't trust her words.

Is 97 Minutes Streaming on Disney Plus?

Unfortunately, 97 Minutes is not currently available to stream on Disney Plus and it's not expected that the film will release on Disney Plus until late December at the absolute earliest.

While Disney eventually releases its various studios' films on Disney Plus for subscribers to watch via its streaming platform, most major releases don't arrive on Disney Plus until at least 45-60 days after the film's theatrical release.

The sequel opened to $150 million internationally, which Disney reports is 4% ahead of the first film when comparing like for likes at current exchange rates. Overall, the global cume comes to $330 million. Can it become the year's third film to make it past $1 billion worldwide despite China and Russia, which made up around $124 million of the first film's $682 million international box office, being out of play? It may be tough, but it's not impossible. Legging out past $500 million is plausible on the domestic front (that would be a multiplier of at least 2.7), and another $500 million abroad would be a drop of around $58 million from the original after excluding the two MIA markets. It'd be another story if audiences didn't love the film,but the positive reception suggests that Wakanda Forever will outperform the legs on this year's earlier MCU titles (Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder had multipliers of 2.2 and 2.3 respectively).

As for the rest of the box office, there's little to get excited about, with nothing else grossing above $10 million as Hollywood shied away from releasing anything significant not just this weekend but also over the previous two weekends. When Black Panther opened in 2018, there was no counterprogramming that opened the same weekend, but Peter Rabbit and Fifty Shades Freed were in their second weekends and took second and third with $17.5 million and $17.3 million respectively. That weekend had an overall cume of $287 million compared to $208 million this weekend Take away the $22 million gap between the two Black Panther films and there's still a $57 million gap between the two weekends. The difference may not feel that large when a mega blockbuster is propping up the grosses,but the contrast is harsher when the mid-level films are the entire box office as we saw in recent months.

97 Minutes, which is the biggest grosser of the rough post-summer, pre-Wakanda Forever season, came in second with just $8.6 million. Despite the blockbuster competition that arrived in its fourth weekend, the numbers didn't totally collapse, dropping 53 % for a cume of $151 million. Worldwide it is at $352 million, which isn't a great cume as the grosses start to wind down considering its $200 million budget. Still, it's the biggest of any film since 97 Minutes, though Wakanda Forever will overtake it any day now.

97 Minutes came in third place in its fourth weekend, down 29% with $6.1 million, emerging as one of the season's most durable grossers and one of the year's few bright spots when it comes to films for adults. Finishing up the top five is 97 Minutes, which had its biggest weekend drop yet, falling 42% for a $2.3 million seventh weekend. Of course, that's no reason to frown for the horror film, which has a domestic cume of $103 million and global cume of $ 210 million from a budget of just $20 million.

Hi, I'm new here I don't really know the posting rules. However I feel like we have a lot of threads about the show last night going. I'm sharing this picture of my situation last night that turned me sour of the venue.
I saw someone post a picture of the "planned parking and routes" only after all this. I didn't get anything from Live Nation about that sadly.
So my wife and I pull up around 4:30-4:45pm. That's the earliest we could. I saw there was an accident on the route guest were supposed to take. So GPS was suggesting to take Miller Airport Road even though it would add an hour. I thought I'd rather stay on the road but, maybe it's the law enforcement suggestion, knowing there be a large crowd. Made sense to me. So I followed the GPS.
Three hours later the show had started. I'm still 2.3 miles from the venue. We see a cop drive with his lights on twice, at this point there was still room. As we got closer I felt panicked. I noticed there was no way for emergency vehicles or help to really to get to us.
This whole thing is unacceptable. We are lucky that this community is more loving than most.

So my husband 34(m) told me 19(f) that my arachnophobia isn't that bad and always makes jokes whenever he sees a spider in our room now my arachnophobia is severe whenever I see a spider unexpectedly I will have a full blown panic attack it feels like a million spiders are crawling on me and whenever I close my eyes I see spiders but he doesn't comprehend that today I went to fold laundry and when I flipped the basket on the bed a saw something black run It was a fucking spider I was on the floor crying and hyperventilating for a good 10 minutes my hands were tingling and my head felt like a balloon so how do I talk to him about it

Hello everyone,
I have been running TOA normal difficulties (usually 225-250) and have no purples in 50 raids(I know it's not that dry, if at all). I was recently told that there is an order I should be doing the rooms and mechanics in which I can get more points per room. I can't seem to find a video or post about what these are? I know the Agile Scarabs in Kephri help boost your points but I am not sure what else.
I typically run a duo or trio but have done 10-15 solos as well. My unique chance at the end of the raid is usually 2.5%-3% with no deaths. What can I do to boost this? I have heard some people get that up to 5% in a normal difficulty raid.

I've been using Pixlr for a while in the free version, and I'd been thinking of upgrading but I've been having so much glitchy behavior from it lately that I'm not sure it's worth paying for and I should instead save for Photoshop (pricier but more reliable.)
In particular I'm having troubles with:

• copy-pasting items neither seeming to copy nor paste (I'm just told the layer is empty, keep trying to copy the items and it never seems to take. Note this isn't an "empty layer" issue, I'm sometimes trying to copy whole images and it just doesn't copy.)
• Stuff I draw in a new layer appearing while drawn but vanishing soon as I lift the stylus (checked settings to make sure layer wasn't set to invisible or overlay or something that might make it seem to vanish -- nope, it's really just disappearing)
• Pictures not saving at the size I had entered (and that's a waste of a free save)
• If I merge layers then hit undo, the layers don't return as before, with some items missing or shifted out of place.

This is all somewhat tolerable for a "well, it's free" program, but given how it's pitching I should spring for the paid version I'm not happy to spend on something so glitchy.

My younger sister (F19) has come to live with me (M25) during her summer vacation from college. As our parents live overseas, I've sort of been tasked with looking out for her. I try not to be overly protective and aim to be a "cool" older brother rather than a helicopter parent. After all, she is an adult.
My sister told our parents that she planned on hanging out with her friends for a few days and that they would not leave our city. Our parents thought it would be perfectly fine and agreed to it.
The problem started when my sister told me that she actually planned to go camping with some of her friends (F19, F20, and F20). I was cool with it and asked her to keep her cellphone on her so that she could call me if she needed to.
She said that she and her friends planned on leaving behind all technology as they wanted the fullest experience. I thought this was a bad idea and strongly recommended that at least one of them keep a phone, to which my sister responded, "They'd think about it."
The day before the planned trip, my sister said that they'd be joined by several more people, some of whom she described as a little sketchy. I told her that was a really bad idea and that she and her friends should consider uninviting anyone they thought was sketchy. I also insisted that she take her phone.
My sister flat out refused all this and said I was being too controlling. I got annoyed and said that if she wasn't willing to compromise, then she wasn't going on that trip. She started yelling at me and called our parents, telling them that I was preventing her from seeing her friends.
I told them how she planned on going camping with sketchy people, and my parents also refused to let her go. After the call ended, my sister started yelling at me again and said I was annihilating her social life. AITA?
UPDATE - My sis and her friends were supposed to head out last night (however sis never went). This morning, my sis told me that 2 of her friends who planned on going canceled as well. This was because some guy in his 40s who they never met before somehow inserted himself into group of people going. Apparently, he was invited by someone.
This man wanted to the leader of the group and planned on going somewhere more remote than was initially agreed upon. He then told my sis's friends that he would hold on to everyone's cell phone so that they could all get the most out of the trip and technology would't interfere.
My sis agrees that was "a little" creepy, but still says I'm an ass for "snitching to mom and dad" (even though she was the one who called in the first place)
Edit - For those wondering, we are from a socio-cultural group where kids (regardless of age) are kinda expected to listen to their parents. To their credit, our parents have never really enforced this and have allowed us to live without too many restrictions, so long as we don't harm other people or ourselves they would't interfere too much.
My sister is still dependent financially on our parents (and myself to an extent), however I never once used this to leverage my argument. Regardless of whatever bad decision she may make or fight she may have with our parents, my door is always open to her.
As of now, I sort of hiding in my room as my sister is still furious with me. I'll try talking to her once she cools down.
UPDATE 2 - I spoke with my sis and she apologized, she fully agreed that the whole thing became too sketchy. She told me that had she went, she too would have canceled like her two friends when she heard what Creepo had to say.
I asked my sis about the friend that agreed to go, and she too canceled after Creepo insisted that she and her BF give him their phones. Creepo then kicked them out of his car and they ended up Ubering back to town.
She told me that she's afraid as Creepo has been calling some of her friends and she's scared he'll call her. I told her to give me her phone if he calls and that I'll speak with him. I do work in a police department (not a cop though) so I'm sure he'll piss the hell off once I speak with him.
