Industrial Themed Color Design

2023.06.06 22:01 RicketyGaming Industrial Themed Color Design

Why? Just why? Everywhere you go, all you see is muted brown, gray, black, white, and maybe some silvechrome but never any color anymore. McDonalds is a perfect example, their buildings used to have a bright red roof with yellow stripes, white walls with a yellow stripe and about 1/4 of the bottom was bright red. Burger King used to have a bright blue roof with a red stripe around it. Taco Bell used to have their interior colored with purple and teal. Theaters and arcades used to have black carpets with bright neon shapes all over them.
Why has everything gone to industrial themed bullshit? What's the point? They think it looks sleek? It looks sterile, uninviting, cold, and like I can't wait to leave! What happened to Walmart being bright blue and gray? Now it's all muted brown with... you guessed it... another shade of muted brown. Fuck that! I want to see some nice colors when I go out, not the future from Spongebob when Squidward froze himself in the freezer at the Krusty Krab and everything turned to chrome. Even fashion is turning into muted colors and black and white, and that's it. If you dare to add a splash of color to your wardrobe, people think you're insane!
I just want this industrial phase to go away, I can't wait for something with more color to become popular, this just sucks, I miss seeing colors when I go out, instead I'm greeted with depressing color schemes that make me feel like I'm just walking into a warehouse for a mediocre burger. I want to feel like I'm walking into a friends house for a mediocre burger dammit! I want to feel welcomed, I want to see some actual color, I want to be able to see it from down the road instead of it blending in with every other building. I want to see those neon shapes on a black background again that really POP at you. I miss color!! I miss vibrant color!! I hate this dull new world!

2023.06.06 20:25 RedNeonAmbience Game not launching on EA App (F1 22)

Game not launching on EA App (F1 22)
TL:DR
F1 22 wouldn't launch after I downloaded it. Logs mentioned an invalid license. I cleared the EA App cache via EA App's own menu option to do so, and now my F1 22 can launch. The menu options is located here: Click on top-left burger menu icon (3 straight lines) -> Click on "Help" then "App Recovery" -> Alt-tab to the popup menu that shows up if it looks like EA App has frozen -> Press the "CLEAR CACHE" blue button.
Long story:
Hello all!
I recently installed F1 22 through EA Play (not PRO) on my computer (Windows 11) and it failed to launch. By "failed to launch" I mean the following:
  1. Click on the F1 22 desktop icon
  2. The EA App opens
  3. The EA App opens a "Launching game" window indicating that it is now starting to launch F1 22.
  4. The small "Launching game" closes.
  5. The EA App minimizes
  6. Wait for... 6 seconds?
  7. The EA App unminimizes.
  8. F1 22 has not launched.
If you start by launching the game through the icon in the EA App itself, steps 3 to 8 happen. The application never once launched even after reinstalling both EA App and F1 22.
This is what you would see in Task Manager as steps 1 to 8 above happen:
  • F1_22.exe first shows up in the "Apps" section under "EA", alongside other processes.
  • F2_22.exe loads in RAM up to around 454136 kB or so.
  • F2_22.exe process disappears
  • F2_22.exe pops up in its own section under "Background processes"
  • F2_22.exe loads in RAM up to around 454136 kB or so.
  • F2_22.exe process disappears
At this point, the EA App unminimizes itself. No error messages, no other popups, no sort of indication that something went wrong other than the game not starting.
So I found this log file: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\Logs\EADesktop.log and inspected it to find the following curious logs:

So I figured this license problem is the issue.
So this is the problem I was facing. Just to be clear, F1 22 could start just fine on another computer. The above "invalid license" issue didn't appear on my 5 years old Windows 10 laptop, but it did on my 1.5 years old Windows 11 desktop.
HOW I SOLVED IT
This solution is painfully simple. Hopefully it actually solves this particular issue 100% of the time:
  1. Open the EA App
  2. Click on the burger menu on the top left of the window (the option with 3 lines). Click on "Help" then "App Recovery":
App Recovery menu location
  1. A popup window will open. If it looks like EA App has frozen after clicking "App Recovery", it has not. You'll have to alt-tab to a window with the EA App icon on it, but that isn't the EA App itself:

Alt-tab to pop-up window

CLEAR CACHE button
  1. Press the "CLEAR CACHE" blue button.
Let the app work, you'll have to log in again. After that's done, the game should be able to start.
In my case, that meant I got the see the "Play F1 22, Play F1 22 VR" window for the first time. I've had no issues since. The above logs were completely different too. The first request for a license returned an "Invalid license" message, but the second request for a new license was successful.
Hopefully this helps someone that might have the same issue.

2023.06.06 20:14 ManSoutheast Now that we know that Covid-19 was no worse than the average flu, what happened to the flu during Covid-19? Would we have even noticed "the pandemic" if the media hadn't told us? Was this really the "Pandemic of the Century"?

This to me is the most interesting question about the whole thing. It really cuts to the core of what actually happened during the past few years.
At the outset of "the pandemic," Netflix highlighted a film called "Contagion," by director Steven Soderbergh. It's a good flick with a great score by Cliff Martinez. I especially like the track by Martinez Bat and Pig. As the name of that track suggests, and as the film suggests, the "pandemic" would be coming from eating meat -- specifically pork. The final scene of the film shows a bat biting a pig. Hence the "contagion."
The film also has an interesting -- and in retrospect disturbing -- sub-plot involving an unscrupulous huxter who warns against taking the life-saving-vaccine and instead recommends using some dubious product in which he is invested.
Now don't get me wrong -- I'm not suggesting that Soderbergh is some sort of nefarious actor. Yes it's true that Hollywood has a very interesting and very disturbing history of collaboration with the CIA and the Pentagon. Ben Affleck's "Argo" was made with the help of the CIA, as was Kathryn Bigelow's film "Zero Dark Thirty" (which falsely suggests that Osama Bin Laden was caught due to torture -- thus legitimizing the practice). But I highly doubt the film "Contagion" was part of an elaborate plot.
Nevertheless it introduced into people's imaginations the idea that a pandemic was coming...from bats...
If you look at eg Glenn Greenwald's tweets, he's unwittingly engaging in what I consider a limited hangout: the virus came from a lab! Well yes it no doubt came from a lab, but the real scandal is that it was a total nothing-burger, whether lab-leak or bat-soup.
When the media says, "the pandemic" caused X, Y and Z, are they talking about the "pandemic," or the response to it?
It's very important for people to understand that the World Health Organization changed the very definition of "pandemic" in 2008. Just like they changed the definition of "herd immunity" during the "pandemic," just like the CDC and Miriam-Webster dictionary changed the definition of "vaccine" to accommodate the new products by Pfizer et. al. How did they change it? They eliminated the qualification "with enormous numbers of deaths and illness."
Moreover, as per the British Medical Journal:
The second change was to drop the requirement for a new sub-type with a simple reassortant virus meaning that many seasonal flu viruses could be classified as pandemic influenza.
A search of online web archives reveals that the WHO website had the erased definition dating back to at least January 2003 through to July 2008. [1]
Well isn't that interesting. Incidentally -- and anti-capitalists should be especially attuned to this -- several investigative reports prior to 2020 (ironically published in liberal outlets like Voxx) found that the majority of the top dogs at the WHO are heavily invested in giant pharmaceutical companies. Conflict of interest much?
Was this really a "pandemic"? When I think of the term "pandemic" I get visions of people dropping dead in the streets, and family members developing boils on their faces. I don't imagine the government forcing people to imagine that a pandemic is occurring. But that's what happened. We all sort of larped like a pandemic was afoot, even though we tried our best to go on as normal, absent government restrictions. If an actual deadly pandemic were occurring we wouldn't need propaganda campaigns by the government, we would willingly try to avoid other people.
That's another disturbing aspect to all this: the government demanded anti-social behavior. Even as government officials themselves laughed about the whole thing, attended parties, drank champagne. They weren't worried about a "pandemic" lol. If they were they would have flown to their million-dollar-bunkers in New Zealand or wherever.
A study just came out from Germany finding that deaths from Covid-19 fell within the range of your average flu season. This accords with excess mortality data out of Sweden, which finds no significant excess mortality at the height of the supposed "pandemic." It also accords with the data out of British Columbia about ICU admissions (someone did an FOIA request).
I have been searching in vain to find this supposed "pandemic." What I actually find is that hundreds of millions of people were driven into starvation and poverty due to the response to the supposed pandemic, and the greatest transfer of wealth in history; no more middle class -- Blackrock gobbled up those assets. The pseudo-environmental movement as interpreted by billionaires should gobble-up what's left.
So how do we know that any of this "pandemic" stuff occurred at all? Well we were told that you could be "tested" to see if you were a plague-carrier. The test they used is called PCR. Here's the problem -- the literal creator of PCR, Dr. Kary Mullis, emphatically emphasized that it should not be used for diagnostic purposes. Wait what? Yep, that's what he said. He died in 2019, right before the "pandemic."
The data is clear: there WAS no "pandemic." THAT is the real scandal. Followed closely by the scandal of the "vaccines," which are no such thing, and appear to be extremely dangerous.

2023.06.06 18:43 Bluegenox Need feedback on fantasy novel

I need someone to give me HONEST feedback on my novel. I used AI to write this and it's my first time writing a book, so I'm not sure what I need to do better. Thanks in advance :)

CHAPTER ONE: THE FRACTURING
Daestopia was one of the billions of worlds in the Multirealm, and it was a serene, flowing land. Lush green forests carpeted its rolling hills, while rolling blue rivers wound through the valleys, and a vast stretch of sky above was dotted with twinkling stars. The people here lived in harmony with nature and each other. And there he sat, Ares, perched on a weathered wooden chair, his gaze unwavering and intense. His midnight black hair was pulled back in a tight ponytail, with not one strand out of place. His eyes were bright blue and sparkled like sapphires as he surveyed the room. He seemed untouchable, as if nothing could ever disturb him. But that was until the day everything changed. That was the day when The Fracturing descended upon Daestopia. Speaking the dreaded word out loud made people shudder as their hearts raced with fear, knowing that it marked the end of everything they had ever known. It was an apocalypse unlike any other, leaving behind only ruins in its wake. The sun shone brightly in the village of Earltree, where farmers tilled their fields and smoke rose from the workshops of the blacksmiths. People went about their day, blissfully unaware of what was to come. Ares was a popular young man- his copper hair and chiseled features attracted admiration, but it was his interactions with nature that truly inspired reverence. Many thought he had some kind of gift, which made sense considering his father's reputation as a great warrior. Little did they know that Ares possessed a gift far beyond what they could imagine. As he strolled through the fields, he felt a deep connection with nature, a bond that was unbreakable. He could feel the pulse of the plants and hear the whispers of the wind. It was as if he could communicate with the earth itself. And when The Fracturing hit, it was this gift that saved him. Ares stood up from his chair, feeling an inexplicable sense of unease. The air around him grew colder, and the trees began to rustle, leaves shaking off their branches as if trying to flee. A flock of birds flew overhead, their chirping turning into panicked cawing as they headed south. Ares knew something was wrong but couldn't quite put his finger on it. That was until he saw the crack in the sky. It started out small, just a hairline fracture that went unnoticed by most. But to Ares, it was like watching a wound slowly tear open. The crack grew wider and wider until it looked like a jagged scar cutting across the sky. A bright light shone through the crack, blinding in its intensity. The people of Daestopia were in a state of shock as they ran through the streets, trying to save what little they could carry. Ares couldn't help but feel sorry for them as he watched them stumble and fall amongst the debris. That was when the monsters appeared. They were hideous creatures, twisted forms of living flesh and steel. Their eyes burned with an inhuman hatred, and their claws glowed as they tore through anything that dared to stand in their way. Townships were destroyed as if by some fierce gale force wind or tidal wave- all in a single nightmarish instant! People screamed for help but no one answered them; only the sound of destruction remained. The people of Daestopia were in a state of shock as they ran through the streets, trying to save what little they could carry. Ares couldn't help but feel sorry for them as he watched them stumble and fall amongst the debris. And soon there was no trace left of Daestopia's serene beauty - not even a memory survived The Fracturing... Daestopia would never be the same. Desperate hope filled our hearts as we began to search for a savior. Someone who could be a hero, someone to free us from this tyranny, and grant us new life. If only we could find them, if only they existed...

CHAPTER TWO: MEETING BJORN
Ares lay in the mud, his small body twisted and broken like a discarded toy. Tears streamed down his face as he cried for help, but his voice was lost in the deafening silence of destruction. All around him, debris from what was once his home littered the landscape like a scene from a post-apocalyptic movie. His heart sunk deeper as he looked around and realized that no one was coming to his aid. He was alone in a world gone mad, doomed to slowly fade away if left on his own. Just then, something made Ares jump from fear – the sound of footsteps! At first he thought it might be someone come to help him but when the figure became clearer in sight, Ares saw with shock that it wasn't a rescuer at all but an old man stepping out amongst ruins like some ancient sage crossed over into another realm by nefarious destiny. The stranger had white hair so long and flowing; only aided further by its brightness against the greyscale backdrop of ruin surrounding them both. His face spoke of untold wisdom and years spent among those who could truly understand life’s struggles yet possessed enough confidence never surrendering hope for better days ahead - even during times such as these. "Hello there young one," said the old man in calming tones "it looks as though you can use some comfort." His voice carried warmth, inviting happiness rather than despair or dread which could have been expected under such circumstances. Ares cautiously looked up at the old man and in a timid voice asked "Who- who are you?" The old man smiled warmly, his wrinkles deepening from joy as he replied. “Do not be frightened young man, I am here to help.” As soon as he spoke those words all of Ares' fear was gone and replaced by hope and faith that maybe this strange person could make something good out of such chaos after all? Just then before either of them had time to react further, terrifying roars echoed through their ears piercing the sky like lightning! Both stilled on instinct looking around wildly for its source – what they saw made their hearts race with terror - A giant monster was coming straight towards them! A fierce roar shook the air as menacing red eyes glared, glinting with predatory hunger. Fangs longer than swords shone in the moonlight, striking terror into the hearts of all who witnessed them. Before Ares could scream in terror, it fell to the ground with a thunderous crash. An arrow had pierced right through its heart. Ares spun around with a gasp and saw the old man standing there, bow drawn, an arrow ready to fire. The man had appeared out of nowhere and saved his life. Ares' voice cracked with emotion as he looked the old man in the eye. "Th- Thank you!" he screamed, his gratitude radiating from him with tears flowing down his eyes. "You- You saved my life! Just who are you?" he questioned in awe. "My identity is irrelevant. You will be enlightened soon enough. But now, follow m - there's no time to waste!" The old man offered Ares his hand, and Ares gladly accepted it. He kept his hand in the old man's as he walked beside him, not knowing where they were going. And finally after some time Ares asked "Where are we going?" The old man smiled and answered, “Home. We’re going home." Eventually, they reached a small hut in the middle of nowhere. The old man motioned for Ares to take a seat while he rummaged around in the hut, eventually pulling out some bread with his withered hands. He placed the food on a table and said, “Eating this will give you strength.” Ares began to wolf down the bread hungrily as he listened in curiosity to what the old man had to say next. The old man then pulled up a chair so that they were sitting face-to-face and said, “I have seen many sorrowful things throughout my life; but I never tire of seeing people come back from despair when all hope has been lost". He paused for a moment before continuing: "My name is Bjorn - an ancient sage charged with guiding men across times of distress; Ready always for adversity and prepared should fate put its faithless test against which none can ever stand guard." Ares gazed at him in awe filled silence too stunned by his words even though he understood them not completely. Bjorn smiled and continued speaking, "Many have lost their way in these dark times, but you have the strength to find your path again. You survived, young one, and that is something to be proud of. Your journey has only begun, and I am here to guide you." Ares listened intently as Bjorn spoke of courage, resilience, and never giving up despite the odds. He learned about ways to harness his internal strength and become a warrior both in mind and body. With each passing day, Ares looked forward to their lessons with Bjorn, eager to absorb as much as he could from the wise old sage. But one day, during a training session, Ares finally found the courage to ask what had been plaguing his mind for days: “Bjorn, why are you helping me? What makes me so special?” Bjorn chuckled gently before replying, “You have been chosen for a great task," Ares' eyes widened in astonishment. "What task?" he asked eagerly. Bjorn took a deep breath and replied, "There is a prophecy that foretells of a great war that will engulf the land. It is a war between good and evil. You, Ares, are the chosen one - the one who will lead the charge against evil and restore peace to this land." Ares looked at Bjorn with disbelief, but as he saw the sincerity in the old man's eyes he knew that there was truth to his words. He had always felt a sense of destiny calling out to him, and now he finally knew why. Bjorn stood up slowly, his eyes shining with purpose. "It is time to begin your training in earnest. The task ahead will not be easy, but I have faith that you will succeed. You must learn to harness the power within you and become a true warrior of light." Ares nodded eagerly, his heart pounding with excitement. He was ready for whatever lay ahead. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months and months turned into years as Ares trained relentlessly under Bjorn's tutelage. With each passing day, he grew stronger and more confident, his skills in combat improving vastly. But even as he honed his physical prowess, he also delved deeper into the mysteries of magic and spirituality under Bjorn's guidance. He learned how to channel the energy of the universe through his body and mind, gaining greater control over his abilities until he felt like a master of his own destiny. "Say," Bjorn said as the sat back down in his chair. "have you heard of the Xonin?"Ares furrowed his brow. The Xonin? It sounded vaguely familiar, like some half-remembered myth from the distant past. "No, I haven't," he admitted. Bjorn's eyes glinted as he spoke. "The Xonin is the legendary artifact that wields the power to cure what ails our planet. If you don't find it in time, the world is doomed." Ares shivered at the thought. "What does this have to do with me?" Bjorn leaned forward, his gaze intense. "The Barrier is broken. The Barrier that diverges our world from others has been fractured, and the Xonin is the only thing that can repair it." He paused for a moment before continuing: "You have been chosen for this task. The Xonin would not let you die, that's why you're alive right now." Ares felt a sense of dread wash over him. The fate of the entire world was now resting on his shoulders, and he was not sure if he was ready for such a responsibility. But he knew that he had come too far to give up now. He took a deep breath and asked, "Where can I find the Xonin?" Bjorn smiled knowingly. He got up from his heat and grabbed a thick, dusty book. It looked like it was decades old. "Take this." Bjorn handed him the book. "What's this?" Ares said as the held the book in his hands. It was extremely heavy. "This is my logbook. I have recorded all my adventures and journeys inside this very book." Bjorn replied. Ares opened the book, and his eyes widened as he saw pages upon pages filled with notes and sketches. "This is amazing," Ares said quietly. "I can't believe you've been to all these places." Bjorn chuckled. "Yes, I've seen many worlds in my time. But there's one in particular that you need to visit." He pointed to a map inside the book. "Here - this is the world of Ziraxia. It's a dangerous place, filled with ancient ruins and powerful magic, but the Xonin resides there." Ares studied the map carefully, his heart racing with excitement. "You're giving this to me?" Ares asked with a face of amazement. "I have no need for it anymore, and someone like you deserves it." Bjorn replied. Ares felt honored to be trusted with something so valuable. He knew that he would have to travel to Ziraxia alone, but he felt reassured knowing that he had Bjorn's logbook as a guide. Ares' face suddenly turned upside down. "Bjorn, I don't think I'm ready." Ares said while setting down the book slowly. "It's too much work. I'm only 9 years old after all." Bjorn smiled and held Ares' hand firmly. "You'll be ready in no time. I will train you, and teach you all you need to know." Ares' felt a little better now, and he decided to head to sleep. "I'm tired. Can I go sleep somewhere?" Bjorn showed him around. There was a nice, comfortable pile of hay in front of him, which looked very comfortable. "You can sleep here," Bjorn said "though it may not look comfortable, you'll get used to it soon." Ares didn't think twice before jumping onto the mound of hay and quickly falling into a peaceful sleep. Bjorn put out the torch and walked out of the room, with a huge grin on his face, knowing that he had found Daestopia's next savior.

You’re killing it king.
Dudes rushing around, tapping screens, filling drinks, taking orders, giving orders. The drive thru line is backing up, wait times are getting high, he got like 4 Uber eats orders to fill too but this guys customer service doesn’t skip a beat. Thought it deserved a little recognition.
Kudos to the burger chef and the other guy doing stuff at the register to.
But not the weird looking man with the gold chain in the blue shirt with thin hair and shrew eyes. He’s doing fuck all and looks micro manager-y af

2023.06.06 15:22 I_Love_Cyndaquil2 Reality is wrong… almost artificial intelligence levels of wrong…

It feels like something changed, like a coding change…
I never believed in the matrix… but something just happened…
We were taking a 15 minute walk for a family that got hit by a car, during the walk my head suddenly got heavy and tight, as if my body was trapping something in.
And the colour around me distorted, I am completely clean of drugs mind you. The grass got a blue tinge, and everything looked pale.
I felt dizzy now, when we got back the 15 minute walk took 32 minutes, from 8:22to 8:54.
Yesterday I changed the song to Paradise Lost by Hollywood Undead at exactly 8:54, today Paradise Lost started playing at exactly 8:54.
On Friday, yesterday, and today I have sat in the same seat, the seating plan is randomly generated with exactly 32 students in the class, why did I get the same seat three times, and why is the number of students the same as the minutes on the walk…
In class I distinctly remember a black and white paper rainbow as the teacher has no pronouns and rainbows fill our class, today when I walked in the rainbow was fully coloured. The clock is misplaced, I could have sworn our class was 218, not 216…
Suddenly all body proportions feel off, including mine… my hand was covered in scars, now it’s perfectly smooth.
My teacher.. he had a black and white shirt, not red white and blue…
Something is off… this world is wrong.. I feel off here, like I’m supposed to be somewhere else…
Where am I right now… At school, duh… but where, what street am I on.
What’s going on…

6/6 Tuesday MLB Houston Astros vs Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview
In this Tuesday MLB matchup, the Houston Astros will face off against the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre. Both teams have been performing well this season, and this game promises to be an exciting one. Let's analyze the teams' performance, trends, and recent form to provide insights into possible outcomes.
ATS and OU Records and Trends:
The Houston Astros have an impressive 35-24 record this season, and they have been profitable for bettors, earning them $131.00. They have performed well against left-handed pitchers (11-5) and right-handed pitchers (24-19). When playing as the favorite, they have a solid 25-18 record, while as the underdog, they are 9-5. Regarding the total, the Astros have a balanced 29-29-1 record.
On the other hand, the Toronto Blue Jays hold a 33-27 record for the season, but they have not been as profitable for bettors, losing $73.00. They have been more successful against right-handed pitchers (28-21) compared to left-handed pitchers (5-6). As the favorite, they have a 22-18 record, while as the underdog, they are 10-9. In terms of the total, the Blue Jays have gone under in four of their last six games.
Reasons for the Run Line:
The Houston Astros have a potent offense, averaging 4.53 runs per game, which ranks them 13th in the league. They have a well-rounded lineup that can generate runs consistently. On the defensive side, their team ERA stands at a respectable 3.54, indicating a strong pitching staff. Hunter Brown, the Astros' starting pitcher for this game, has performed well recently, with a 3.61 ERA in his last three starts.
The Toronto Blue Jays also have a solid offense, averaging 4.67 runs per game, ranking them 12th in the league. They have shown their ability to score runs in their recent games. However, their pitching staff has been somewhat inconsistent, with a team ERA of 4.15. Kevin Gausman, the Blue Jays' starting pitcher, has been performing impressively this season, with a 2.76 ERA.
Considering the offensive capabilities of both teams and the performance of their starting pitchers, there is a possibility that this game could be high-scoring. Therefore, taking the run line for either team could be a reasonable bet.
Reasons for the Total:
As mentioned earlier, both teams possess strong offenses that can produce runs consistently. The Astros and the Blue Jays have averaged 4.53 and 4.67 runs per game, respectively. Additionally, recent trends indicate that the total has gone over in seven of Houston's last ten games. However, the total has gone under in four of Toronto's last six games.
Considering the offensive power of both teams and the recent trend of the Astros' games going over, there is a chance that this game could go over the set total.
Prediction and Final Score:
Based on the team's performance, trends, and recent form, the Houston Astros seem to have an edge in this matchup. They have a strong record, profitable ATS record, and a solid offense. With Hunter Brown on the mound, they have a reliable starting pitcher. The Toronto Blue Jays have been struggling as underdogs and have a less favorable ATS record.
Considering all these factors, the prediction for this game is a Houston Astros victory with a final score of 7-4.

2023.06.06 07:50 throwawayforariel Review of The Little Mermaid, Society, and Culture (part 2)

Most importantly: the casting of Ariel obviously is the biggest problem with the production. And everybody can plainly see that, but not anybody is allowed to just say it, because of absurd and oppressive accusations and arguments, for example -
"Mermaids are mythological, they don't have a race, who cares if she is black now, you racists."
Spongebob Squarepants is not even half-human, yet if they suddenly painted him blue, everybody would obviously dissociate. Not because folks are prejudiced against blue, but because Spongebob would look like a freaking alien to us. Would you appreciate a brown or pink or white Winnie the Pooh more than the original? And does that make you a racist? Thank you.
We're very, very obviously not talking about "mermaid representation" and "being historically accurate," you morons, we're talking specifically about Ariel, a specifically established character in a specifically established story stamped in time as a classic. It's not race, it's basic association: red hair, floppy bangs, blue eyes, fair skin, green tail, period.
The only person talking about race is you, the person calling folks racist.
"Representation for blacks matters, stop being salty."
But you just yelled about how 'mermaids were mythological and that the element of race was not only irrelevant but an entirely stupid thing to associate with the character'...? So what is this angle supposed to be if not hypocritical? If her race does in fact matter, mythological or not, because representation does in fact matter, then that would mean it absolutely does in fact matter that you changed her race to begin with.
"Halle IS Ariel, she was born to play this role."
The number one and only prerequisite to meet while emulating a freaking cartoon character is the appearance. And everybody knows it, stop trying to triggegaslight innocent, unsuspecting audiences everywhere. Everything else is performance, wardrobe, direction, script, etc. Like what if I told you "Denzel Washington was born to play Johnny Bravo because he can do the voice well-ish enough"...? Would you be able to take me seriously? No? How about if I accused you of a hate crime?
"Nobody complained about Jasmine or Belle looking different!"
Are you stupid...? For one, they didn't look all that different.
a. Jasmine matched more or less the same as her cartoon counterpart, in appearance and in energy, only she was prettier and like barely one shade lighter; what's more, that was a fantastic singer and actress: and even so, YESSS, everybody complained, there was a collective Wilhelm fucking scream/race war until all of the idiots simmered the fuck down upon the revelation that the cartoon wasn't specifically Indian or Arabic or anything but a fictitious hodgepodge of both-ish loll and that the actress looked the part enough-ish, which didn't actually matter, because she wasn't even the star, Aladdin was, and they fucking NAILED him in recreation, NAILED him, and wasn't that so satisfying to witness as a viewer...? hm...?
b. Belle matched more or less the same as her cartoon counterpart- ONLY in skin and hair color and general cuteness or softness of face; she was a hideous dumpster fire compared to the cartoon, in appearance and in energy, and she was a horrific actress and singer; and yes, people complained like crazy... and no matter how hard they did and always will, it will actually still never be enough. She sucked for that role as much as this new girl does for Ariel.
But yeah: none of these bitches looked much different from their cartoon versions. What they did to Ariel is like... if you made the cookie monster pink and instead of cookies, he was into cupcakes.
"The bad reviews are coming from one source: racists."
No, you're the racist for saying so though. And a manipulative fucking asshole.
"You all . . ."
"You all" nothing, because I am not white, I am not a blue-eyed Danish redhead, many of us having this fit are not and have zero cultural or physical identification to Ariel. I am not defending myself and/or my people through Ariel, you're the only one doing that here, that is exactly why it is so impossible to get through to you with objective ass points lol. I am not racist against you and/or your people using Ariel as the tool to unleash my hidden racism demons, get it the fuck together you asshole, wtf. This is "personal" to me, only insofar as it toys with my childhood memories and it reminds me of my disdain for disney, the media, politics, and the way the idiot masses are so easily pit against each other through their transparent, haphazard, lazy brands of manipulation and insulting pseudo-representation. "You all" nothing when I'm trying to say "We all," wtf is the problem. These remakes mortify all of humanity, just let me say it. It's "BLM' all over again, when one time I accidentally said "ALM" because I wasn't up to speed yet and didn't know it was a patented hate crime, and I was nearly trampled to death for it. yet my neighbor who posted a black box on instagram was being paraded on society's shoulders as the second coming of MLK jr. like What the fuck kind of role am I supposed to play, can I just be myself and have people just figure I'm not a freaking psychopath or not? Can I just make honest observations without people assuming my stance has shit to do with my own race, gender, or anything personal? This shit is sick people. If you think it is wrong to change the race of established characters in reanimation, then that should apply to all races, all ways, otherwise, you are kinda racist, and/or if you think media representation is insanely important, then you should be fixated on creating original representation, at the very least, not using another culture's or thanking and defending the company that is actually using you for their representation. And if you think I am racist for fucking saying this, you have mental problems. That's it.

~.~.~

And then of course this girl is an abusive fucking bitch.
For example-
Halle and Disney:
"black mermaaaid! extry, extry! come get your black mermaid!! that's right, look at my skin color, you racists, look at all of these freaking racists and their backlash! all they see is color-> i'm BLACK! so let's talk about how important ariel's dreadlocks are to MY story in 15 interviews, and let's also talk about black girls who can now look up to me because i'm black! but it's not about race you guys! but like remember to go back to seeing in color again in time for when The Color Purple hits theaters too because i actually am being black in that one so don't mix them up okay? anyway: BLACK!"
Innocuous Interviewer Along the Way:
"so, black mermaid, you say?! how beautiful! cool! gorgeous voice! ariel incarnate! shining star, world peace, god bless you!"
Halle and Disney:
"WhaT?! how dare you see my skin color and say my skin color? cancel all racists! who told you i'm black!? who told you to notice and care?! i'm so oppressed you guys, look what i ~\endure*~ see this is exactly what i've been talking about during marketing since 2020 :( i'm black :( stop saying it though :( only me say it +* you see it, but no reminding me :( so racist :( okay anyway, as i was saying, mermaid dreadlocks are really important for my people, this is our roots, and i wish white people would stop complaining that my hair looks and acts different from that white girl's in their own culture's dumb culture-less original. mermaids are not real and neither is white culture, okay, everybody knows that, there's no such thing. they're being racist."

It's like, bitch:
- The Little Mermaid is fucking Nordic- Denmark, you asshole. Hence her physical features in the cartoon. Just because the entire plot isn't centered on her hardships as specifically a Danish chick it doesn't mean her culture is irrelevant, you know some people in the world are able to represent their culture through their art without making their own culture the fucking centerpiece of the art: you're supposed to take notes, not fucking steal their shit.
The greatest deviation from that in the cartoon is more or less that Eric's seaside looks more Mediterranean, which is fine because we were still being generally whitey-European- and we had a Jamaican crab for fucking flair. We weren't running off to the Caribbeans (?) of some Victorian 18th century (?) where a black female ruler somehow existed (?) in some insanely prosperous, productive Utopian royal-yet-peasanty bubble island (?) and adopted some *actually* danish-esque shipwrecked bastard who floated there on a raft (?) for the first of many times in his life now apparently made purely of milestones marked by what ship wrecked him at what age (?) and is now to be white king of this highly exclusively black village-empire-colony-dynasty (?) only if he can get past this millennial helicopter parent of a matriarch-monarch because that's her only order of business in all the land (?).
Like, you do understand how much this is not even *your* or anybody's representation, right...? You stole from a realer narrative to pedal your flimsier faker one while shouting at "white people" that "mermaids are mythological so nothing about anything matters except getting blacks on TV"...?
- And also hence her fucking name, Ariel a spirit of the air, or of the North/Nord; and hence the fucking meaning of the name a light or a lion of god, as in her light skin and/or her fiery red hair. NO, "lion king" and/or an untamed orange mane is not the fucking association, and even if it were, you already played in The Lion King! Remember?! You and Beyonce fucked that one up like five minutes ago! Give it a fucking rest get the fuck out of here you parasitic supremacist.
Fucking nobody even cared about your race in the first place,
the masses mostly cared about the basic associative image of the basic ass drawing done thirty years ago and has thus obviously just naturally cemented itself as an intensely nostalgic icon.
You brought race into this, so then FINE:
EVEN on the level of your racially charged and biased freaking playing field:
you're still the only one in this equation who is a flagrant fucking racist, because YES actually, this icon most definitely is already rooted in a specific culture's set of creations and unique representation,
and we didn't even see it that way or think of it like that,
until you fucking forced us down here to witness your ridiculous, hypocritical claims!
You forced a whole category of demographics to go up in arms to have to defend themselves as well as a whole established culture there when you literally:
a. claimed racial ownership of their classic,
b. insisted "white people have no culture,"
c. insisted the "color of the mermaid didn't matter,"
d. insisted the "color of the mermaid being black though did matter,"
e. labeled folks who saw this paradox "racist" without a second thought,
d. and then psychologically/verbally attacked/alienated everyone based on your:
i. inflamed entitlement,
ii. shameless ignorance,
iii. false empowerment,
iv. capacity to be so easily manipulated by disney,
v. and blind racism. like against everybody.
Literally, from start to end of this weird conquest of yours.

Leave fucking classics alone!
If you switch them up just to float your own culture's propaganda,
I am going to make fun of you and your culture, lol,
And I am going to enjoy it, and I am not even a racist,
And doing so wouldn't make me a racist.
As I said, it would make you the racist.
Because wtf are you doing repainting narratives and characters.

Don't dangle irrelevant shit in people's faces,
Otherwise people are going to mock your irrelevance.
That's it.
Your culture's not stupid,
But you look stupid right now here in this doing this shit.
And yes, it's funny and it's fun to laugh.
What else is there to even do?
You replaced all the actual entertainment value with this shit lol.
THIS is the entertainment I've extracted from it thus,
This, writing this, hating you, is fucking fun,
More fun than digesting your product, whose fault is that?
Be grateful I'm still this engaged and part of it.
This is still a great contribution to your stupid agenda thing.
You're welcome, as usual.
But it's not more fun than just enjoying things labeled as
"Your personal favorite childhood memories,"
in this case to me, "The Little Mermaid,"
so fucking quit it.
This was me coping, and good on me for making a tragedy fun,
But let's not exploit this valve that is my soul lol.

Now please go ahead and collect your freaking ethnicities, all of you, every last fucking culture out here, and leave the plot of all of our already established films alone.
(yeah Aladdin Remake, i'm also talking to you, and you hang back after class, because i have another lecture for you specifically)

Create new films for representation if that's what you want!
Don't infiltrate the homes of unsuspecting families just trying to eat popcorn and fart and laugh at their old favorite hits together.

THIS was the first era in my life where I was unable to post a FILM review onto Google Reviews, Rotten Tomatoes, and Reddit for a film. That's all I've been doing for like a decade lol, all of a sudden: CENSORED. And this was the first era in my life where I MADE DAMN SURE not to use curse words or ANY kind of term or even fucking tone that might be anything darker than neutral. I mean... all of this pent up frustration now, and guess who I am going to take it out on? The face of this entire debacle: that black girl and that white film director.
THIS was a serious moment where multiple credited sites like imdb and rotten tomatoes "updated" their "rating formats" and openly filtered/cherry-picked top reviews repeatedly like fighting against currents despite how aware the people have been of it. That is so fucking unsettling.
And they are doing this claiming it's because "all these black-hating racists keep review-bombing"
WHILE the number one movie on our planet right now is about a black spider-man lmao, yes, a literally equally black-washed white fictitious character-- during the same era where the WHITE spiderman has a black MJ, to boot.
See? Nobody cares. If anything, everybody's in love.
And this black mermaid movie is actually number two, at least in america, so great, wonderful, people sincerely gave fucks enough like all this to go watch it! Plus, this singer, along with actress Zendaya for example, are like reigning supreme over their entire generation as we all applaud genuinely and throw roses, so like just mother fucking shut the fuck up already. what white movies are even out!? Fast and Furious part 600 is all people of color and that was number one for like a month before all this, what racism? where racism? how, when, who, what the fuck. Nobody is review-bombing a fucking thing, this remake just happens to suck really hard, the girl happens to be a horrible actress and a very evidently, observably miscast dullard, especially because that one singular image of that one cartoon character was not to be tampered with, plus too many people are insulted by the whole pandering thing.
The End.

So my review of this freaking sham is therefore:
I believe this moment in history will be taught in history classes to display an era where an entire culture was racist without even knowing it, whilst accusing itself of being racist in a whole other way for a whole other reason allegedly concerning the miscasting of a mermaid cartoon, almost as if consciously to distract itself from understanding how inherently racist it itself just fucking was; during this chaos of utter confusion, obviously puppeteered by the media, the media took further advantage by pitting these idiots all against each other to make money for their new cartoon film and/or continue laundering blood money as they do through the clogged vessel that is Hollywood, as well as you know, harvest the globe of their hateful, confused, stressed-for-no-fucking-reason energy, vampires that they are, ensuring humanity at large is just replaying the same thirty-odd years on loop on loop over and over unto infinity in a downward spiral toward hell for these demons to continue leeching off us until, I don't know, God decides to do shit about it and set us all free.

The flares had gone up, but the gates remained shut. Martin hadn’t stopped staring at them since the troops had moved into position. He’d only paused to blink.
It was unlikely they’d been betrayed. The Water Tower had fallen to their forces after all. That being said, there were always delays in military operations—
Martin blinked. The gates were swinging open.
“Alright everybody! Up and at them. Mages, smoke us up! Musketeers suppressing fire!”
Cheers rang out along the line as puffs and clouds of mist and smoke began to shroud the Lightning Battalion. Horns blared as the wave of soldiers charged.
Martin was at the head of them, shield raised. He knew his kit was a little archaic, but frankly he could use the extra protection at the moment.
As they neared the gatehouse, Martin could hear sounds of battle within. As he made it over the drawbridge and into the building he could see a ring of soldiers marked with blue and red armbands trying to defend the opened second gate against a flood of soldiers coming from the main castle building.
“For Erisdale!” Martin bellowed.
He and the Lightning Battalion plunged into the melee with troops flooding through the gatehouse,.. Martin managed to slam his shield into one of Darius’s soldiers and stab them, before stepping back to look around.
Already he had teams of soldiers rushing up to help with those fighting in the gatehouse proper. Musketeers were taking position and the mages they had were casting spells at the incoming reinforcements.
There were a lot of Darius’s troops coming, though. They were rushing out of every door, and from every tower to concentrate on the breach.
Martin grimaced. He was sure that he was going to break through at some point, but it would take time. The rest would have to be up to Jessica’s team.
“Come on! We’re nearly there,” said Elizabeth.
Leaning heavily on her, Leila limped as fast as she could. They’d healed her as much as they could but she was still exhausted from the ordeal she’d suffered.
“Why don’t you just carry me—” Leila cut herself off with a Word of Power. Several soldiers were running down road leading to the Citadel, trying to intercept the pair. A fireball erupted from in front of them and smashed into the unfortunate enemies, blasting them off their feet. Leila waved Elizabeth’s arched eyebrow off. “Nevermind. Give me a moment.”
“Yeah, hard to cast if you’re being carried.” Elizabeth paushed to look behind, down toward the city. The way the Traditionalist defense line had been structured was that it left a protected section of the city between the Citadel and the Water Tower.
Before her eyes, Erlenbergian ships were pulling into the harbour, disgorging hundreds of marines and mages that stormed into the city. The Traditionalist forces that had been attempting to retake the Water Tower were now flanked. It would take time however, until they could take control of the area and make their way to the Citadel.
But at least at this moment, the gate that led up to the Citadel proper was unguarded, the drawbridge down. The soldiers having been stripped to defend the city and the main gatehouse or try to secure the harbour.
“You ready?” Elizabeth asked, glancing at Leila.
The Otherworlder shook her head. “Nope, but I need to be at Janize’s side,” she croaked out.
Elizabeth giggled. “Well, since you are hopelessly in love with her. Let’s get you there.”
Leila rolled her eyes. “Fuck you,” she stammered, but she was unable to help herself from smiling.
Scarlet was damn good and tricky to fight against. The head of the Red Order had stored a number of spells into her magical rings, which she used to vary up her arsenal. Fireballs would be followed by vines sprouting from the ground. The earth would suddenly ice up, followed by gusts of wind that would try to knock Ayax off her feet. She was also very fast, and Ayax found herself dancing around Darius’s garden, using whatever cover she could and shields to keep herself safe.
The problem was that as the fight drew on and Scarlet continued to keep throwing spells, the outcome of the fight became clearer and clearer.
Ayax was not the head of a mage order. She didn’t quite have the extensive magical equipment that Scarlet had in her possession. Scarlet also had a powerful magical gift and the cost of it was not a mobility impairment. Leila had told Ayax that Scarlet was missing an eyeball, having replaced her missing eye with a glass replica.
That pupil-less eyeball now glimmered at Ayax as the troll returned Scarlet’s fireball with a larger fireball of her own, forcing the mage to take cover behind a statue of a knight that was blasted apart. Scarlet stepped out to cast, but Ayax was faster, she had already thrown several magical cards. They slammed into the red-robed mage, crackling and popping, smoke and sparks blinding the woman. She barely managed to get a shield up but instead of hitting her again, Ayax paused for a split second before throwing more cards.
These hit Scarlet clean again and she screamed as she staggered, firing magical bolts wildly. Ayax practically just sidled behind a tree and watched the mage pant as she gathered her own power.
No, Ayax had none of Scarlet’s money or ability, but she did have years of seeing the most intense frontline combat of the Great War. She had trained against the most powerful mages of her time, Edana and Frances Windwhistler. She was a gifted mage in her own right with unparalleled athleticism and grace. And to top it all off, she had read Scarlet’s rhythm of casting and was now very much in it and messing with her.
Oh and she’d exhausted Scarlet by making her cast all the spells she had.
So when Ayax threw Frances’s lightning spell over her shoulder, Scarlet only barely blocked it. The woman was knocked backwards and slammed into the perimeter wall of the mansion.
Ayax was soon charging after her. Scarlet managed to fire a torrent of water at her, but the troll sang, drawing up a wind that lent speed to her step and pulling up a mound of earth that blocked the jet. She ducked under the woman’s clumsy attempt to cast a slashing spell at her, and slammed her staff into Scarlet’s head.
Blood poured from the cut across her skull, and the woman crumpled to the ground. Her glass eyeball popped out from the force of the blow, rolling onto the glass. For good measure, Ayax grabbed Scarlet’s wand and pocketed it. She also cast a binding spell that would stick the woman’s arms and legs together so she couldn’t get up.
Then she stared.
One of her parent’s killers was lying in front of her, unconscious and helpless. Scarlet wouldn’t even know if Ayax cut her throat with a dagger. It was more mercy than she deserved.
Biting her lip so hard Ayax thought she was going to cut herself, she turned on her heel. The troll forced marched herself away, thinking of her dear Elizabeth and how she needed help.
Step after step turned into a run and soon Ayax was racing down the city streets for the gate leading to the Citadel.
As she rounded a corner, she saw a column of soldiers fast-marching, also towards the main castle.
“Ayax!” called out a very filthy red-haired woman.
The troll ran up to her friend. “Ginger, oh dear, that was a horrible trip wasn’t it?” Ayax asked as she took in Ginger’s odor.
“Yes. I strongly advise you don’t touch me,” said Ginger. She tilted her head to another approaching mage, whose orange dress quickly gave up her identity.
“Ophelia Voidsailor, good to see you in person!” Ayax exclaimed, clasping her fellow Erlenbergian’s deformed hand.
“Ayax Windwhistler. We never settled who won the Winter Tournament did we?” Ophelia asked.
“I conceded to you if I recall.”
“Bah! That doesn’t count! I want a rematch once this is all over!” Ophelia giggled. She coughed into her fist. “We’ve secured the harbour and the Water Tower. The Traditionalist’s remaining forces are running to the Citadel.”
“Excellent, lets hope Janize holds out long enough for us to get there,” said Ginger, starting to jog again.
It was terribly un-queenly behaviour and perhaps didn’t do the best for the morale of her soldiers, but Janize decided not to sit in her throne. Rather, she was using the very large chair as cover and had opted to sit on a simple wooden chair.
Even then she wasn’t entirely safe and despite herself, she couldn’t help but hold onto a bunch of her crimson hair, as she desperately attempted to keep her breathing level.
Erisdale’s throne room featured the standard long hallway leading up to an upraised dais and two thrones. It also had a second-level gallery meant for nobles to be able to gather and watch the proceedings. This gallery comprised of two large rooms open to the throne room itself. Sculpted stone railings kept the onlookers safe. Underneath the upper galleries were two covered hallways which functioned as ways for people to go up and down the the throneroom without just walking through the main hall.
Normally, there were ways to get to the upper galleries, but the soldiers loyal to Janize had barricaded these entrances. They could not however, barricade the stairways to the entrances that were near the throne room’s main entrance and led up to the galleries. Their defense relied on them holding the throne room’s main front.
Naturally, that had been the focus of the assault by Darius and his soldiers.
“Master George, I distinctly recall you informing me the Throne room was the safest in the Citadel?” Janize mused ass stray bullets whizzed over their heads.
Crouched down beside her behind an upturned table, George smiled wanly. “Yes. It has enough space to hold the soldiers loyal to you, and the entrances can easily be blocked off. The other barricaded entrances can also be opened if we want to make a break for it. So yes, this is the safest place when you consider the other option is your personal chambers which can’t hold all your guards.” Fluidly rising to his feet, George fired a musket down and reloaded. “Hang tight, I’m going to check on the other barricades.”
Janize nodded slowly. She was getting a bit better at not wincing at every crack and whine from the spells and bullets that were sailing through the throne room door. That had been the first to fall and followed by a charge from the Traditionalists. However, the numerous barricades of tables and furniture that had been stacked to form several lines had checked the enemy’s advance.
So a vicious melee had developed at the entrance, with both sides firing guns and spells over the tops of each other’s heads. Janize was no military tactician, but she knew that if Darius’s soldiers gained the galleries, they were in deep trouble. They were also losing those galleries.
Elizabeth arched an eyebrow at Leila. They were now in the castle proper which was unsurprisingly deserted. The non-combatants having fled or hid. “Leila, where are we going. The throne room’s front door is not this way.”
“Yes, but unless you want to get completely fucked by the mass of troops probably fighting there, we’re going to have to break in to help them—” Leila stopped so quickly, Elizabeth nearly dragged her forward.
A column of soldiers were spilling out from one of the corridors into the hall. Their boots were caked in indescribable brown stuff and from this distance, Leila and Elizabeth could smell where they had come from.
At the head of the group of soldiers was a blonde woman with a cat mask. Thier were both Alavari and human and they all had light-blue armbands or hauberks emblazoned with a silver lightning symbol.
“Jessica?” Leila whispered.
“Leila, it’s been a long time.” The masked Otherworlder’s reply was cool. Elizabeth did notice a tremor in her voice.
“Jess, I’m so sorry. I was an idiot and I—”
Tearing off her mask, Jessica took several long steps to Leila and seized her in an embrace. “I missed you.”
Leila couldn’t help but cry. “I missed you too—OW!”
Jessica had flicked Leila’s forehead with a finger. Smiling, crying and scowling at the same time. “Also, fuck you for trying to blast me, several times.”
“Sorry,” Leila croaked.
Jessica gently stroked Leila’s hair. “And I’m sorry for calling you a monster.”
Leila managed a watery giggle. “I deserved it.”
The pair laughed and let go of one another. “Right, which way to save your queen? Also, you alright? You look like a wreck,” said Jessica.
“This way.” Leila said, leaning on Jessica’s shoulder for support. “Oh wow you really did crawl through a sewer.”
“Eat shit, or did you already?”
Jessica snorted. “Fuck you.”
“Glad to see you getting along, but how are we going to make sure we take down a barricade without getting shot at?” Elizabeth asked.
“You’ll see!” warbled Leila.
After dispatching a band of Traditionalist soldiers, they’d come to a doorway that looked fairly ordinary but as Leila laid her hands on the wall it shimmered. “Yo, George! Don’t shoot! Reinforcements are here!”
A slot in the door opened up and there was quick peek. From the other side they heard a great sigh of relief.
“Thank God, get in here.” Their was some scrabbling and the door swung open to reveal the blonde-haired Otherworlder warrior. “They’re making another push. Good thing you remembered the designated escape hatch.”
“Ah, you left an emergency exit, a sally port. Good idea,” said Elizabeth. “Musketeers to the galleries and check your powder before you start shoting. Jessica, Leila, get to the queen. I want a section to guard the sally.”
There was a thunderous bellow from the outside of the throne room. Then another louder one.
“They’re hyping themselves up. This is it!” George bellowed. “Leila get to the queen!”
“Holdup.” Jessica picked Leila up and leapt off the railing. Her friend screamed as they dropped down, only slowing at the last minute due to Jessica’s spell.
George stared at the pair for a moment, but Elizabeth had grabbed onto him and was dragging him. “Let’s get to the front, hurry!”
Janize peaked behind her throne. “Leila!”
The queen was soon embraced by the shaking Otherworlder. “I’m sorry. This is um, Jessica.”
“A pleasure I’m sure, but we are in a dicey spot.” Jessica ushered the pair behind the throne and began casting. Leila soon joining her.
A flood of armored knights had forced the throne room’s entrance. The sheer mass of the column was overwhelming the defenders at the entrance. Leila could see George and Elizabeth fighting furiously back to back against the tide. Elizabeth’s war hammer taking out a knight with every swing, whilst George’s spear flickered into weakspots and gaps in enemy armor like a snake. Far above on the right gallery, the Lightning Battalion’s musketeers were raining musket and magefire down on them.
Yet Darius’s troops were forcing themselves up the staircase to the left side gallery, which didn’t have the additional Lightning Battalion troops.
“Jess! Left side!” Leila hissed.
“I know, shit!” The pair turned their attention to the gallery on the left, unleashing fireballs and bolts of magic. That kept any attackers and musketeers who wanted to shoot back pinned down, but they had a mage on the left gallery that kept shielding their attacks.
It also meant the flood of attackers pouring through the throne room doors only increased.
“Elizabeth where the fuck are your troops!” Leila screamed.
Ayax knew she wasn’t going through the front door, but after running around the throne room’s upper galleries she was wondering if there was any other way in.
As she hammered on a final door, a familiar human face peeked through the slot.
“Captain!”
“Helen, good to see you!”
“Get in here and duck!” Ayax’s adjutant opened the door and lead the troll into the throne room. She instantly could see that things were not going well. Musketeers filled the gallery opposing them they were ducking behind a black-haired mage’s shield due to Leila and Jessica shooting at them. However, that meant Jessica and Leila weren’t casting at the knights charging through the throne room.
Ayax could glimpsed Elizabeth locked in a duel with another knight that she dispatched, another Otherworlder protecting her flanks. The pair were pulling back, though and the Lightning Battalion soldiers trying to come down the gallery stairs were forced to come in single line
And Traditionalist forces kept pushing. No matter how many were shot dead, the armored men and women were storming forward, stepping over the bodies of dead comrades with a desperate, furious pace. At the centre of the column was a man surrounded by the biggest and burliest knights Ayax had ever seen and with gold-trimmed armour.
It was Darius and he was in her sight. Ayax blinked, started forward and shook her head. He wasn’t the priority. He couldn’t be the priority. She could see black magic leaking out from her hand, but she forcefully kept her gaze on the gallery.
Taking a deep breath Ayax bellowed, “Clear the way!” Running forward, Words of Power pouring from her lips, she leapt over the railing.
Elizabeth was very nearly distracted by a glimpse of her girlfriend doing a superhero impression as she flew across the top of the Throne Room, carried by her magic. Ayax, her staff punched forward like a spear, slammed into the first musketeer she saw. The Traditonalists ran, trying to make space but that also gave space for Ayax to run after the panicked looking black haired mage.
Whirling her staff around, she slammed him so hard he crashed into the wall with a sickening thud. Then she was hitting the musketeers, sending them flying with her strikes. Even so, musket balls screeched by her, nearly missing her. More musketeers were pointing their weapons at her.
A massive fireball slammed into the railing, setting enemy uniforms aflame. Ayax glanced over the railing to see Leila give her a brief wave before turning back to keep firing at Earl Darisus’s guards. The troll blinked, but there was no time to contemplate, she had to keep fighting. Leaping forward, she sent another human soldier flying. Torquing around, she ducked under a bayonet stab and punted a human woman into a wall.
When she turned around to look for another opponent, Ayax froze. The remaining musketeers were fleeing, retrating down the gallery stairs and away from her. However, there was a blonde haired woman on the gallery with a fox-fur lined coat. She was aiming a musket, but not at Ayax. Instead, she was pointing it toward the dais of the throne.
Ayax’s eyes immediately took in the trajectory of the musket and the scowling dark-haired Otherworlder she was pointing it at. Leila, while taking cover from the bullets and bolts of magic from the main entrance’s direction, was exposed to the woman’s shot.
I could let her. It wouldn’t be me. It’d be an accident. Janize can’t blame us for a battle. We’d still have her surrender.
Besides, Leila doesn’t deserve to live. Why should she live after all the wrongs she’s committed? Why shouldn’t I just let her die.
Nobody would know. Few would care.
Ayax glanced down at her hands and at her staff. There was no black magic pooling around her. It was just her. Her decision to save or let die, the woman who killed her mother.
This was a woman who’d apologized and promised to let her do whatever she wanted to her. Who sought not her own safety but to protect the life and the child of the one she loved.
Ayax bit her lip and charged the enemy musketeer. However, her hesitation had cost her. She could see the musketeer pulling the trigger. There was no time for a Word of Power. Ayax slammed into her the musketeer. The weapon cracked, the bullet whizzing off course as Ayax pushed the woman over the railing.
But the screaming woman now grabbed onto Ayax and the troll found herself tumbling over.
Acting on instinct, the troll seized her enemy with both hands, her cat-like tail twisting to try to direct their momentum. The pair fell down, but Ayax was managing to get her legs atop the woman. Acting more on instinct, Ayax leapt off the musketeer, slammed into a Traditionalist knight and rolled clumsily over the ground.
Dazed by the impact, her sides and wrists screaming with pain, Ayax could just hear a stomach-churning thud. She chanced a glance and immediately looked away. The woman was very clearly dead, having hint the stone floor headfirst.
It was then she saw that standing over her was the heavily armoured Earl Darius halted dead in his tracks. He lifed his visor, and Ayax could see that despite the sweat that trickled down his face, his eyes remained wide with horror and rage.
“You killed her. You killed my daughter!” Roaring like a wounded animal, Darius swung down at Ayax with his sword. She managed to get her staff up, the metal chomping into the wood. Again and again the Earl brought his weapon down. Aching, exhausted and far far too close for comfort, Ayax scrabbled back, trying to escape. But the earl was possessed with grief and fury and the desperation of a cornered animal.
“Die! Die! Die and join your father and mother!”
Author’s Note: Oh dear, so Ayax has gotten over her anger, but… she pissed off Darius anyway!

2023.06.06 06:57 ryu289 They really want to ignore their violence

Parent power: More on the North Hollywood elementary school where a Pride flag was burned
Oh goodie, they support vandalism.
Fights broke out between protesters and LGBTQ activist counter-protesters. LAPD officers broke up the fights.
The "parents" were the only ones being violent. This is who they support. Why?
The parents at Saticoy Elementary School protested against a planned assembly at the school last Friday. A Pride Month event was the reading from “The Great Big Book of Families.’ The book is about diversity and “all kinds of families.” One father among the protesters is speaking out. The father of four is refusing to send his children back to school until he can speak with school officials. Manuk Grigoryan said he is “fed up.” He’s not alone.
And why though?
Yet, that is exactly what the parents protesting the assembly are doing – trying to protect their children.
From what?
Other blue states should pay attention. Parents across the country are beginning to rise up and say enough is enough. Stop propagandizing young children. It’s a topic that is over their heads until they are older. Most parents want to be the ones to teach their children about sexual matters and gender issues, they don’t want schools to take over their jobs. Those that do not listen in this environment do so at their own peril.
So showing them nothing but heterosexuals won't go over their heads, but homosexuality will? Do you think they will have sexual intercourse if they learn about other family structures?
What "Pride" looks like in a school
St. Joh’s Pride Day was a wonder to behold. Kids were treated to a school decorated to the child with not only Pride propaganda but lots of transgender-affirming materials. To be clear, we are talking about an elementary school with children as young as 6 years old being indoctrinated into an ideology that is all about sexual preferences and the most anti-tradition and anti-religion madness that exists today.
You mean showing tolerance for other sexualities like they do for heterosexuality? You make it sound like they want to turn the kids gay when they have this:
PRIDE, LOVE & ACCEPTANCE reigned supreme
I have no familiarity with recent cultural trends in Newfoundland, so perhaps the residents have truly embraced this Brave New World where chopping kids to bits is the highest good, but I sincerely doubt it.
You do so when being gender conforming. It is revealing to contrast this reaction to a much more common clinical situation, specifically that cisgender girls under 18 can and do undergo breast augmentation and reduction without the conservative hand-wringing over “body mutilation” that top surgery incurs despite its noted benefits on gender congruence and chest dysphoria. Even cisgender patients experience physical and psychosocial well-being following reduction mammaplasty; studies largely conclude that the benefits of breast reduction surgery can provide adolescents outweigh the risks. Surgeries on cisgender minors are up to 24 times more common than surgeries on trans minors. It is estimated that, in 2020, 3,200 cisgender girls aged 13 to 19 received breast implants, and over 4,600 cisgender teenagers had breast reductions, while only 203 trans minors had top surgery. Reuter recently ran the numbers to identify how many youth have accessed gender-affirming medical and surgical care. They identified 256 gender-affirming top surgeries performed on trans youth aged 13-17 in 2020. In three years – from 2019 to 2021 – there were only 56 genital surgeries among patients ages 13 to 17 with a gender dysphoria diagnosis. To get a sense of the numbers, the analysis drew on public and private health insurance claims for about 330 million U.S. patients over five years from 2017 to 2021. This hardly means that clinicians are “going rogue.”
The moral panic about children having gender surgeries disregards the many obstacles trans people experience in access to surgical care, including socioeconomic barriers such as insurance access and out-of-pocket costs, barriers related to obtaining behavioral health letters in support of surgery, limited surgeon availability, and, for minors, the need for parental permission. Many insurance companies do not provide coverage for gender-affirming surgery on minors.

2023.06.06 03:56 shadow_z_99 I lost my painting at a park, does anyone know what I can do to find my painting?

On my way to burger king I lost my painting in marquette park, Chicago. I'm very upset by this, i don't know what to do or where to start looking. The moment I realized it was gone I decided to look back and nothing. Does anyone know a site or any place for missing art waiting to be claimed. If anyone from the area sees it please tell me. It's a painting that's blue with two girls, I used red paint and used my fingerprint as my signature. I don't have a picture since it was a work in progress...

2023.06.06 02:26 bie716 Singapore experts of r/bangtan! What advice and recommendations do you have for ARMY visiting Singapore for the SUGA Agust D Concert? (16 - 18 June 2023)

In just under two weeks, ARMYs will descend upon Singapore to see SUGA! Help an ARMY out and let them know about safety, how to get around, where to eat, tourist attractions, BTS-related things to do, or anything else that you think someone should know when they visit! (Special thanks to the mods for your input and feedback for this guide!)

BTS' Past Visits

Red Bullet Tour (2014 BTS Live Trilogy Episode II) at the The Star Performing Arts Centre (13 Dec 2014)
Music Bank performance (4 Aug 2017) at the Suntec Convention Centre
Love Yourself World Tour (19 Jan 2019) at the National Stadium
This made history as the first time a K-pop group held a concert at the venue (largest concert venue in the country) and tickets sold out in about 3.5 hours! (45,000 audience)

Concert Venue

Do note that it’s currently the June school holidays too (26 May-26 Jun), so the Sports Hub and surrounding areas may be crowded with many other visitors besides the concert-goers. Please be mindful!

Sightseeing/Activities

Non-exhaustive list (all prices are in SGD)
(Note: You may want to check out Klook for discount tickets/passes)

Dining

Singapore is a food paradise with various cuisines from the local ethnic groups, as well as international ones. For Muslims, there are a lot of Muslim-owned or Halal-certified options around (look for this certificate, or the label “Muslim-owned”), including most of the fast food chains like McDonald’s/KFC/Burger King/Subway.
Carrying some cash with you (~$10 per pax) is a good idea, especially if you’re venturing out to hawker centres; while many places now have an electronic payment system in place, cash is still king in terms of versatility, and anecdotally most stores prefer cash or will charge a credit-card payment surcharge.

Where to eat?

What to eat?

Breakfast (These are generally very affordable options that should cost you below $10 per person, particularly if you go to food courts/hawker centres)
Lunch & dinner
Snacks

Getting Around

Singapore has a great public transport system. It’s really easy & cheap to get around on the MRT (mass rapid transit trains) and buses. Use Google Maps or the City Mapper app to navigate yourself and get route recommendations (the latter also has transport arrival timings and fare estimates. It also works in many cities globally, so is very useful for tourists). Various transport passes are available for tourists, but you can also use your contactless credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) to pay for the fares (no registration required).
In general, using the Circle Line (yellow) or Downtown Line (blue) should get you to most tourist attractions. Orchard Road (main shopping belt) can be accessed via the North South Line (red), between Orchard and Somerset MRT stations. Map for reference, with links to versions in Chinese/Malay/Tamil available for download.
Taxis and ride-hailing cars: We have Grab and Gojek in place of Uber.
General navigation
All signs are in English, and the locals - esp the younger generation - are able to speak English fluently. If you’re really lost, feel free to approach others to ask for help! People are generally friendly and helpful despite initial appearances :)
As a side note: in general, if Google Maps is asking you to circle around a building to get somewhere - don’t. You can cut through most places on the ground floor quite easily, even the residential buildings (unless they’re private properties like condominiums/landed housing). MRT stations are connected to a good number of places via sheltered corridors if they’re nearby enough. Enjoy the aircon & shade instead of walking outside in the heat if you can.

Shopping

Weathewhat to wear

The weather is especially hot these days (max temp of up to 35 degrees celsius, or 95 Fahrenheit), with possible spurts of heavy rain at certain times of day, so dress light and carry an umbrella (most places do have sheltered walkways between buildings and bus-stops/MRT stations though, so don’t worry too much about getting around in the rain). Mall air-conditioning can be cold, so hv another layer (e.g. cardigan/wrap/scarf) on hand. Remember to hydrate frequently & avoid staying outdoors for too long!

Airport

We’ve tried to achieve a balance between being succinct and informative, but certainly the above info is not exhaustive. So do feel free to ask in the comments below if the info you need is not here! Fellow SG ARMY, or those familiar with Singapore, feel free to chime in!

My Full The Flash Review: Cleverly Gets Us Up to Speed on Flash's Backstory but is More Sugar Rush than Satisfying Journey
This review is based on a free preview screening held in the U.S. on June 1st, 2023, two weeks before the movie's official opening date. Note that this screening did NOT include any credits or post-credits scenes, which I don't know if the final movie will have or not. The director's name came up after the final shot, and then the screen shut off. This review is spoiler-free, but does discuss plot points that are visible in the film's trailers. I may say things like a certain character had a lot of scenes or barely any scenes, so if that's too much information for you, don't read it. I DO NOT spoil the appearance of any character not seen in the trailers.
My review:
7 out of 10 or 3.5 stars out of 5 or B+
The Flash arrives in cinemas not with the urgency of a speeding bullet, but as one of the most long-awaited superhero origin movies in history. The character's comic book debut dates back to 1939, making him one of the founding fathers of the superhero genre. He's carried more than one TV series, from 1990 to the present day. He made his film debut played by Ezra Miller in a brief civilian-garbed cameo in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, then in costume in 2017's Justice League. Now, after decades of stop-and-go development with too many director changes to count, Ezra's version of The Flash finally gets his name top-billed (if just barely) on the marquee in his own movie. The Flash's director is Andy Muschietti, joining his second big studio franchise after his 2017 and 2019 two-part adaptation of Stephen King's It.
The advance buzz for The Flash has broken the tradition of every new DC Comics movie being sold as "the best superhero movie since Dark Knight," by instead telling us that The Flash is "one of the best superhero movies ever made." That's a high bar to ask any superhero movie to live up to, and The Flash, as you might have predicted, doesn't live up to that billing. It can more realistically be described as the best DC Comics movie since 2018's Aquaman that takes place in the primary DC cinematic universe. The basic bare minimum that any superhero origin story has to do is to explain what the character's powers are, tell us how the character got them, and convince us that the character and his powers are interesting. The Flash succeeds at meeting that more realistic bar. This movie is a perfectly adequate introduction to this culturally significant comic book character for the world at large. Where the movie loses its focus and interest is with its effort to send Flash through a travelogue that traverses the multiverse in search of other super-powered characters for him to pal around with.
This movie was faced with a difficult challenge in telling Flash's origin, in that the character had already been introduced in the DC film series, with nary a word spoken about how he got his powers. The Flash's screenplay is ingenious in the way it tells his origin story without relying on the old cliche of the flashback sequence. It's no secret from the trailers that Flash employs his time travel powers in the movie, and ends up meeting a younger version of himself. Like most modern movies that deal with time travel, this one indulges in making Back to the Future references, some of which will be very funny the more you know about Back to the Future. The plot deals with the same absurd and fascinating situation explored in Back to the Future II, where two versions of the same character exist in the same place at the same time. This gives Flash another character with less knowledge than himself, who he has a good reason to explain things to, much like Doc Brown explains things to Marty in Back to the Future. This device allows the audience to learn everything we need to know about the Flash's origins and powers in an organic way that feels active, natural and spontaneous. Audiences who have little prior knowledge of The Flash will likely be surprised at a lot of the things he can do, but they'll also understand why he can do them with ease thanks to the movie's clever storytelling.
Chemistry in movies is an elusive concept to define. Sometimes two actors who weren't even on set at the same time can have their dialogue edited together later and still appear to have "chemistry." This can be seen in Ralph Macchio's and Pat Morita's screen tests for the Karate Kid, which were shot separately but edited together by the director and posted on YouTube. That dynamic is certainly on display with Ezra Miller's performance(s) in The Flash. The chemistry between the two Flashes is as vibrant and electric as the special effects seen when Flash runs at full speed. Ezra deftly plays the two versions of the Flash in subtly different ways, which helps draw human comedy out of the old, reliable "odd couple" concept. The movie is nothing if not full of in-jokes, and at one point there even seems to be one made at Ezra's expense, based on the actor's recent court trial. I'm not sure what the timing was of when that scene was filmed, and whether it's art imitating life or the other way around. The scenes with the two Flashes seem to be very accessible to the general audience, but this in-joke is one sign of how the movie is often geared towards rewarding the most ardent fans and followers with "Easter egg" moments.
While Flash is ostensibly being graced with his first solo starring movie role here, that didn't stop the studio from deciding that not one, but two Batmen will appear with him in it, Michael Keaton's and Ben Affleck's. And a female version of Superman. And a Superman villain who's crossing over from another movie. And maybe some other surprise guest appearances. It's hard to explain why Warner Brothers felt the need to take this approach with Flash, when the recent film debuts for Wonder Woman and Aquaman were so successful without using any major crossover gimmicks. Perhaps the greatest casualty of this heavy focus on other superheroes is Flash's love interest, Iris West, played by the charmingly baby-faced Kiersey Clemons. She has great chemistry with Ezra herself, but she barely appears in the movie. This is a character who is likely to be a lot more important to Flash's future than these other superheroes, but she barely gets an introduction here. As we've seen all too often in this genre, crossovers with other superheroes always spell doom for the lead character's civilian supporting cast. The other problem with this approach is that these guest stars and cameos never come off as more than the aforementioned gimmicks. The guest stars deliver their famous catchphrases, show off their well-known costumes, powers and gear, and offer a little bit of obligatory dialogue to explain what they've been doing since we last saw them. But they don't get any real character development or satisfying beginnings, middles and ends to their stories.
Several newer Batman movies have shown us that they can go a lot deeper psychologically than the original Michael Keaton Batman movies did. But no added depth has been given to Keaton's version of Batman here. The filmmakers seem content to rely on a few nostalgic references. Keaton has become a more interesting actor in recent years too, but he isn't given any new angle on the character to explore in this performance. Even his aging is barely acknowledged. Keaton has certainly aged well, still fits the suit perfectly, and can pull off his action scenes convincingly. But this movie doesn't give him much to do beyond the action, short of a few cliched speeches about his parents' deaths with the requisite violins playing on the soundtrack. All this movie really does for Keaton's Batman is whet our appetite to see his character explored in more depth in a potential future Batman sequel. I'm sure Keaton has the potential to do much more with the character than the material allowed him to here.
Other, more modern DC characters and actors also show up, to varying degrees of effectiveness. One of those is Ben Affleck's Batman, who, in a briefer appearance than Keaton's, manages to deliver more meaningful and memorable dialogue in this movie than his 1989 predecessor does. The big action scene with Affleck's Batman and the Flash isn't disappointing either. It more than adequately fulfills the promise of a DC cinematic universe centered around the Justice League that director Zack Snyder, the former top architect of DC's film universe, made to us in his movies several years ago. This fast, elaborate, exciting and very expensive-looking sequence set in a bustling cityscape exists as an almost separate entity from the rest of the movie, much like the classic James Bond prologues, and it almost steals the show from the rest of the movie, much like the classic Indiana Jones prologues. It must be said, however, that almost all of the Batman action in this movie loses some of the character's mystique by taking place more or less in broad daylight, rather than during the Dark Knight's signature territory of the night.
If crossing over with the Batman bible wasn't enough, The Flash is just as eager to dip its toes into Superman's world. But, this time, it's without any real appearance by the big blue boy himself. Instead, the first movie version in almost 30 years of Superman's famous cousin, Supergirl, takes center stage. This version of Supergirl abandons the traditional blonde hair and red skirt that she's worn since her first comic book appearance in 1959 for short, dark hair and the same full-length tights that Henry Cavill's Man of Steel sported. She's played by Sasha Calle, an actress of Colombian descent. Supergirl continues the increasingly tiresome tradition of new DC characters being introduced in movies with a "to be determined" note attached to their origin story. She seems to be in the middle of her story when she enters in the middle of this movie to help the other heroes battle Michael Shannon's General Zod, reprising his role from 2013's Man of Steel. Yes, Zod died in that movie, but time travel, multiverse, Back to the Future, etc., etc. Sasha's performance is lacking a certain warmth or charm. Supergirl acts less like a middle American-bred human being, and more like one of the cold Kryptonians that accompany General Zod and speak with vague foreign accents. Whatever character development she has is handled in an extremely abbreviated and perfunctory way, much like what Keaton's Batman suffers in this movie. As for General Zod, I'm frankly surprised to learn they called back Michael Shannon to film new scenes. Everything here looks like it could've been pieced together from old Man of Steel footage and some CGI. Absolutely nothing new is explored with his character. He's nothing more than a prop in someone else's story, which leaves this movie feeling deprived in the villain department. The Flash eventually finds its own way to make a compelling point about good and evil, but it doesn't give us the kind of strong, new villain character that most of the major DC origin movies have.
Andy Muschietti's direction, particularly in terms of his visual style, isn't always as polished as you would expect from a big-budget special effects movie. If you didn't already know he was coming fresh from independent and lower-budget films that often make use of a surrealist style, you might be able to deduce it from watching The Flash. Half the time, the special effects here are not trying to create a convincing, lifelike world, the way movies like Avatar do. They often seem more expressionistic and, yes, surreal. The movie has tried to find its own way of portraying time travel and the multiverse that hasn't been done before. But I wasn't really sold on this being a good way to do it. And the battle scenes that this movie imports from Man of Steel made me feel more like I was playing a video game than like I was watching Man of Steel again. To be fair, the studio has been saying that the advance version I saw was not the final cut, although it's a mere two weeks prior to the official release date. There may be a fine line between surrealism and unfinished special effects. All I can say is that what the special effects lack in polish, they seem to be trying to make up for with style, but not in as consistently effective a way as I would have liked to have seen.
What holds the movie back the most from being as good as Dark Knight, or from being one of the best superhero movies ever, is the too often facile nature of Hollywood wunderkind Christina Hodson's screenplay. Major characters like Keaton's Batman, Calle's Supergirl and Shannon's Zod are dealt with in a very simplified and superficial manner. The Flash himself is given great texture through Ezra's skillful and inspired acting, but even some of his character's big moments seem to come out of nowhere, without the story having laid the necessary groundwork and connective tissue to support them. The overwhelming feeling generated by The Flash is that the movie is extremely eager to jump from "money shot" to "classic one-liner" to "heartfelt dialogue" without providing the necessary investment in proper storytelling to earn all of those moments. I can't help but get the feeling from the reported last-minute editing the movie is going through that the filmmakers are struggling to figure out why the movie isn't paying off quite as strongly with audiences as they had hoped. All of the big moments that audiences are supposed to love are there, after all, aren't they? But a movie can't just aim for non-stop entertainment. It can't be all payoff and no setup. A proper story needs to pace itself, to take the time to develop, breathe and grow. A fulfilling meal can't be just a series of sugar highs. It also has to have some fundamental nutritional value. The Flash races from one dazzling excitement to another at the speed of light, but it ends up leaving the viewer almost as starved for calories as they were when the movie started.

2023.06.05 23:48 stuffduck Listening to My Entire Gizz Record Collection in Alphabetical Order: 5 of 23

I am going to the Carnation, WA and Hollywood Bowl residency shows and this is how I am going to prep for it before I leave this Saturday.
Over the next 5 days (including today) I will listen to 23 gizz records and 1 45 in Alphabetical order. But why in Alphabetical order? Great question! Because that's the order they are on the shelf and I have never experienced Gizz this way before so why not.
Today I cleared this list of beauties: B3K US edition B3K Chinese edition B3K1 Changes Chunky Sharpnel
Review: Was really looking forward to the upbeat and groovy start to my journey. Vibes were high and I was singing along without a care in the world. Then I hit my 5th Blue Morpho and thought I was slowly morphing myself. Needless to say I was ready for some changes. As I traded in the butterflies for some dancing and astroturfing it reminded my how much more I like to listen to this on vinyl rather than the Compressed digital version I usually sing along to in the car and you can really pick out and appreciate the layered guitars in the album that otherwise go unnoticed on other formats. Chunky Sharpnel was the perfect way to end the day as it felt like I was craving a more gritty and garage feel. It also teased me with what's to come since it featured no songs from today's session.
Give me your guesses of what's on the block for tomorrow and if you think I can achieve my goal!

2023.06.05 22:51 loosifergoosifer Cartoon Denim Jacket?

Embroidering a light blue denim jacket and want to put a cartoon character embroidery on the back of it in a black outline. Any suggestions? Was leaning towards either a Bob's Burgers jacket or a Rugrats jacket. Also considering if I should put one big character (or group) in the middle or have different characters all over the jacket.
