Hur hittar man vänner?

2023.06.09 20:10 __create_username Hur hittar man vänner?

2023.06.09 20:05 Banaanisade Health care is failing me horribly right now.

Writing here if someone has tips, but I don't have the energy to recap my whole life's story as I'd usually do, so I'm just going to preface this with short details.
I'm a long-term disabled mental health survivor of childhood abuse with CPTSD, diagnosed with GAD, MDD, and DID. I am between therapists after my previously good one became emotionally distant and incapable of providing me the working relationship I needed with therapy (essentially, I was doing all of the work of therapising myself on my own), and though I found a good replacement I'd like to begin working with who is eager to commit to a long-term therapeutic relationship for my needs, I cannot get the cost covered and all sources are bouncing me back and forth claiming it's not their business to be dealing with. Apparently it is nobody's.
My mental health has been collapsing as of late - I've just spent two weeks eating dry toast and struggling to prepare one meal a day, not showering, not cleaning up, and giving my pets the bare minimum of food and a bed to sleep in. This all came to a head with my dog developing a benign neurological condition that nevertheless required an urgent vet visit, and at that point, my depression and lack of energy has turned to straight-up constant panic, fight/flight, I can't deal with anything right now from the fear of everything, I wake up constantly overnight whenever my dog shifts, I am shaking all of the time, my chest hurts from my muscles crushing my sternum.
I have a prescription for sedatives, well, had; I tried to check out my last bottle of pills to use as prescribed, to take one per day for three days before breaking for one day in order to calm my body's "stuck" fight/flight response. They were prescribed for me for this purpose, as I tend to end up with psychotic symptoms when my brain becomes unable to return to base level.
Turns out, my prescription has expired, and since I did not pick up my last bottle due to not needing the medicine at the time, I have none left. This isn't a problem - prescriptions are renewed quickly, so I sent the request in yesterday.
Today, it was rejected. My doctor told me last time he wants me to "wean off" the medication, because he believes it's not "healthy" to "rely" on them as a back-up when I'm afraid.
I have no treatment. I am not a patient anywhere at this moment. I have no means to access treatment at this time. I have no emergency resources aside from urgent care, which I cannot afford to get to. I've ordered a bottle of CBD oil (legal in my country), which I've never tried before and have no idea if it'll work for me, but I'm looking at a weekend with stress levels that have me borderlining hyperventilation at all moments. I'm nauseous from fear and I cannot calm down, and I have no idea what to do. I was counting on the prescription being renewed today and as it wasn't, I'm not only frightened by the fact that I have been refused the last resort I have always been able to count on when things get very bad - but all resorts, as I have nowhere to go or anybody to turn to now.
I don't know what to do. Please send suggestions. I'm so scared.

REVISED: Reasons why _ borns are definitely Generation _ By Life Stages: Analysis (Series #2: Reasons why 1976 borns are definitely Generation X)
Here's the original: https://www.reddit.com/generationology/comments/ni6poo/reasons_why_borns_are_definitely_generation_by/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Reasons why 1976 borns are definitely Generation X

Life stages (these are not objective life stages but just what's going to be used for this analysis):
0-4 = Unconscious child
4-10 = Conscious child
10-18 = Adolescent (child by legality)
18-34 = Young adult
34-50 = Average adult
50-65 = Middle-aged adult
65+ = Old adult/elderly (not needed since this cohort will not reach that stage until 2041)

Life Stage #1: Unconscious child = c. 1976-1980

They were born during the peak of the baby bust, years after Roe v. Wade, so there were many abortions and unwanted pregnancies going on during their birth period. They were born during the Ford administration but were mostly an unconscious child during the Carter administration and didn't become conscious until the time Ronald Reagan was running for president. Their unconscious childhood years took place during the late 1970's, when technology was advancing with the releases of the Apple II computer (1977ish), the first true home video game console: the Atari 2600 (1977), and the Walkman (1979). It also provided many popular movies such as Jaws (1976), the first two Star Wars movies in the original trilogy (1977-1980), and Grease (1978). The 1976 election, the summer '77 NYC blackouts, Jonestown massacre (1978), Iran hostage crisis (1979-1981), and the 1980 election occurred during that those years. Also, there were many cases of missing children in that time period, which would be the catalyst for things changing in the following years as the 80s emerged. They were unwanted babies (for the most part) during a crappy economy when the average-aged parents (most likely old Baby Boomers) were prolonging children because of the financial state of the US. That sounds firmly Generation X to me.
Age 0 - 1976/1977
Age 1 - 1977/1978
Age 2 - 1978/1979
Age 3 - 1979/1980

Life stage #2: Conscious child = c. 1980-1986

They were a conscious child throughout the 1980s, specifically the early-mid portion of the decade. Their first memory occurred around the 1980 election and John Lennon's assassination. They were children during a very transitional time in America, when the economy went into a recession before skyrocketing in the mid 80s, television took a turn to become more family-oriented and more focused on the well-being of children, with an improving kids television (since I consider the '70s to be the dark ages for kid cartoons, no offense to '70s kids) that would begin the 3 decade-long Golden Age period for child-centered cartoons and sitcoms (1980's, 1990's, and even the 2000's). A lot happened during their childhood as well. Things like Reagan being inaugurated (being children during the Reagan administration is impactful enough tbh), the early 80s recession and the end of stagflation, the 1983 video game crash, Grenada invasion, the 1984 election, the advent of WrestleMania, the Challenger explosion, and Chernobyl. Of course, a '76er got the best of Michael Jackson in their childhood (compared to my previous thread where the '68er got the best of Michael Jackson in their adolescence). They also probably spent a lot of time outside unsupervised (hence, a "latchkey kid"). This childhood experience sounds extremely Generation X to me, although particularly late-wave.
Age 4 - 1980/1981
Age 5 - 1981/1982
Age 6 - 1982/1983
Age 7 - 1983/1984
Age 8 - 1984/1985

Their adolescence started with the Golden Age of hip hop that would occur well into the '90s. They pretty much experienced the best that rap had to offer in their adolescence. It was also around the time that New Wave was being taken over by hair metal, metal rock, glam metal, and New Jack Swing. Boy bands became more prominent in their adolescence compared to childhood (the only notable group was New Edition), with new boy bands like New Kids on the Block, Boys II Men, Take That, and a few others (although the boy band genre didn't truly break out until their young adulthood). Also, rap became mainstream once they entered high school with Vanilla Ice's hit Ice Ice Baby and MC Hammer's hit Can't Touch This. Their adolescence saw a different kind of Michael Jackson. A kind that became more global, more multi-tasked and creative (although his '80s hits were still the best of all time), much lighter (due to his vitiligo starting to really creep up after the Pepsi commercial incident), and much more child-centric (he opened up Neverland). Their adolescence saw events like the Fall of the Berlin Wall, truly ending the Cold War, despite the USSR collapse officially ending it, the Rodney King beatings followed by the LA riots (race wars were really prevalent back then like it is now), the WTC bombings, and of course the 1992 election that would be a huge change in generational powers (Boomers finally took control of the White House as the GI's passed the torch to their offspring generation). Video games experienced a boom during their adolescence after the video economy bounced back thanks to Nintendo. The NES, Sega Genesis, Gameboy, and eventually the SNES really helped bring video games to a new height. They would also be high school students during the peak of grunge (roughly 1991-1994, during their sophomore-senior years) so they would be huge fans (and probably the peak audience) of grunge and its culture. They would also be graduating seniors at the time of Kurt Cobain's death, ending the peak of grunge and also their adolescence as they come of age in a post-Cobain world. Very stereotypically Xer.

Their young adulthood was filled with more culture wars in the beginning and more huge events. Their young adulthood saw the events of the OJ Simpson trial, the assassinations of both Tupac Shakur and Christopher Wallace (a.k.a. the Notorious B.I.G.), truly putting an end to the Golden Age of hip hop, the death of Princess Diana, the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the Columbine shooting, the Y2K bug followed by the Millennium celebrations, the actual turn of the millennium, the 2000 election, 9/11, the birth of TSA, beginning of the Afghan and Iraq wars, the establishment of Homeland security, the SARS pandemic, Hurricane Katrina, the Great Recession, the 2008 election, and ending with the H1N1 pandemic. They experienced a lot in their young adulthood. Not to mention that they were young adults during the biggest technological booms in history (although their adolescence had the birth of the World Wide Web and the Web 1.0 internet. Their young adulthood witnessed the rise of the internet at age 18/19 with the birth of Windows 95 that would help commercialize the internet worldwide, the birth of smartphones at age 30/31 with the release of the iPhone in 2007 which would change how humans interact with technology, and the takeover of digital technology. The internet really went from being a luxury to a necessity. Culturally, their young adulthood saw the peak of boy bands with the likes of *NSYNC (whom includes fellow '76 cohort JC Chasez), Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees (whom includes fellow '76 cohort Drew Lachey), Westlife, B2K, Hanson, Take That, O-Town, Blink-182 (if they count), etc. They also experienced the slow decline in quality of rap during their young adulthood from Dr. Dre in 1994 to Lil Wayne in 2010. Their young adulthood also had R&B, post-grunge, Nu Metal, alternative genres, teen pop, dance pop, crunk, ringtone/McBling rap, etc. Their young adulthood also witnessed the Golden Age of video games with the first three PlayStations, Dreamcast, N64, first two Xboxes, Gamecube, PSP, NDS, etc, as well as the Golden Age of many sitcoms (at least from the '90s and early-mid '00s) with the likes of FRIENDS (which started when they just entered adulthood), Seinfeld, Family Matters, the Sopranos, the Wire, the Bernie Mac Show, the George Lopez Show, and many other sitcoms. They would start raising children as the new millennium approached, with their main crop of children being born throughout the 2000s decade.

They were no longer in their core prominence of providing entertainment for the youth anymore and were just the average adults. They are still currently in this life stage as they have yet to hit 50 (which they will by 2026) but a lot happened in this small time, like the culture wars in America, many political movements and school shootings (such as Sandy Hook and Parkland, which they heavily have to worry about since their kids were the main group of students for those events), the 2016 election, Trump impeachment, and the COVID-19 pandemic. There is not much to say about their average adulthood as it is ongoing but a lot has happened during that time. Their kids are also starting to grow up during this time so this is the period where they will start to feel "old".

2023.06.09 19:59 Short33M Allergies? Need advice

Let me preface with yes, I have a vet appointment scheduled. Looking for thoughts in the meantime!
Background: I am new to pittys (quick foster-fail last fall). I have a strong hunch she has some type of environmental allergies. She has 1 allergy to chicken already.
Question/Advice: 1) do your pittys have outdoor allergies? 2) what types of symptoms or signs would you recommend looking out for? 3) how do you make your pup more comfortable when they are itchy?
Thanks all!!

2023.06.09 19:53 ShiversAndCuddles Cat won’t leave TV alone

Posted on cat advice but the upvote button seems greyed out so I think it’s locked but I didn’t get a message saying I did anything wrong
My boy will be 6 months the 22nd of this month (June) his neuter is the 30th, lately he’s been a bit of a rascal. My partner and I were playing a game and leaves were falling on the screen and he was batting at it which I get, but even when there isn’t anything on the screen for him to necessarily bat at to drive his hunter instinct (he’s strictly an indoor cat but will wear a harness but as soon as he’s outside he wants to go back in, he’s a bit of a priss) he still tries to jump on it. It’s a very expensive tv and I can’t just let it be broken because I can’t afford another one. We play and feed him regularly as well as water. He’s always stimulated in some way, and he’s very cuddly so he’s always in out face giving us love. But he never stops meowing or doing things he’s not meant to do.
Is it just a case of wait it out until he’s done and just hope he doesn’t break anything or get hurt or is there anything I can do? I know about the gross coating stuff for wires but there’s nothing I can really do about the TV screen, and if we lock him out of the bedroom he just cries and cries and cries. If we’re in the bathroom with the door closed it sounds like we’re killing him. I think he has separation anxiety so I’m going to mention that as well to the vet. I know cats meow and some cats are more vocal than others, I’ve had cats my whole life and never had a cat THIS vocal. I love it, dont get me wrong, it’s all in his personality, I’m just wondering if there’s anything I can do for him.

2023.06.09 19:50 scottk1969 Question Re: my kid's experience with Adderall

If reading about potential side effects could bother you... please stop reading here.
My kid (14) was officially diagnosed with ADHD-C a little over a year ago. We knew it forever, but we had gone to 3 different experts who advised against medication. (Part of the problem was that he falls into the 2E category and did exceptionally well on whatever cognitive assessment they could throw at him. Long story short, Covid lockdowns worked out best for him b/c in person school was a disaster for him due to distracting other students, annoying teachers with constant interruptions, etc. He's been full time remote since.
However, when the kid came to me and said he really needed something to help, we went to an ADHD clinic, where we knew they wouldn't hesitate to offer medication. Our insurance forced us through the circuit of ALL the stimulants. Concerta, Vyvanse and one other were all not good for him. They made him tired and then he had a hard crash in the afternoon where he became moody (understatement). Ultimately Adderall kinda worked (20 mg XR). I say kinda b/c it still makes him tired, but he is able to concentrate better, didn't have a major crash, got all A's in his first year of high school, but he really doesn't like taking it, b/c it makes him tired, so he doesn't take it when not in school.
A few months ago I noticed one evening his feet were BRIGHT RED (as if sunburned). He told me it had been happening for a while (basically since he started Adderall) but they didn't hurt or anything. His regular pediatrician was out of town, so we got an emergency visit with another doctor in the office who checked his BP, etc. She felt it was just due to Raynaud's phenomenon and colder weather and to wear thicker socks and keep an eye on it. We set up an appt for his regular doctor and followed advise.
His pediatrician also said Raynaud's and b/c his other vitals were normal it was nothing to panic over and just to keep an eye on it.
We noticed in mainly happened at night and not so much during the day. We also discovered that if he put his feet up, the redness IMMEDIATELY went away and would return if he put his feet down. He had a month break from school (starts again next week) and while his pediatrician did not think the redness was related to Adderall, we talked and he agreed we should keep watch while he was completely off Adderall for a long period of time.
It has improved a lot. Rather than his whole foot getting red, it is now just the tips of his toes, etc. Same thing. If he puts his feet up, it goes away immediately. I'm waiting to hear back from his pediatrician, but he is out of town and likely won't be back for a couple of weeks (he does doctors w/o borders stuff).
Has anyone had any experience with this either as someone who has taken Adderall OR a parent whose child has? Is this some common, normal thing I shouldn't worry about or is it (as my internet searching found) a potentially permanent serious medical issue?
He starts classes on Monday and I am really reluctant to give him medication that could cause long term harm, but, I know it helps him concentrate and not become enemies with every teacher.
Thoughts???

2023.06.09 19:30 Panic-Panic-Panic (US) Spending more than what we are making – what's the best route to stop drowning?

Between poor decisions, hours cut due to the pandemic, and just being down on our luck, my family and I have found ourselves absolutely drowning in debt and bills. On paper, we make a lot of money, but we are spending way more than we are bringing in. After taxes, health insurance, FSA, etc. we bring home a little over $7,100 monthly. Last month, we spent over $9,100. Holy shit.
Here is a breakdown of our May finances:
Daycare $2,235
Rent $2,056
Debt $1,800
Car $1,500
Groceries $560
Utilities $341
Food $290
Entertainment $160
Daycare – We just put a deposit down at a daycare that is $1,450/mo and will switch in August. The current tuition is about $450/wk, and it's over 35 minutes away one way (near my husband's old job). When we were planning for our kid, MIL committed to two days a week, my husband was off one day during the week, so we initially only needed care 2 days a week. This was discussed many times throughout the pregnancy. Since I've given birth, she's only visited maybe once a month, never to really help out – just to see the baby. We started off with a part-time nanny that didn't work out. I tried working remotely while caring for our baby, but I felt I was neglecting both him and my job equally. Daycares in our area have a 2+ year waitlist and usually require a deposit of at least $3,000. Also, daycare was on my credit card which as of now has been maxed out and over the limit.
Car – We used to be a one-car family ($560/mo in car payments), but right before I gave birth my husband was absolutely panicking about me not having a car for emergencies with the baby while he was at work. He worked in sales and was consistently in the top 2 salesmen, so at the time it was feasible to get a second car, albeit not the one he chose. He ended up leasing one (trust me, this was a very sore subject in our relationship for a while) and now trading it in would land us in so much negative equity. I got in an accident a couple weeks ago (not at fault), so now the value on the other financed vehicle dropped. This bucket also includes replenishment for tolls which I've now removed from autopay.
Debt – Yep. It's a big one. We lived in a state with a slightly lower cost of living, and my husband's employment was severely affected by the pandemic. We accumulated a lot of debt. Some of this is furniture that has no interest, but a large chunk is credit card / personal loan debt meant to keep us afloat. The personal loan initially was to consolidate student loans and a much smaller credit card debt.
Groceries – This includes baby and pet supplies. We only shop at cheaper grocery stores like Aldi.
Food – We absolutely need to get better at just cooking. We just feel like we're hardly surviving with the sleepless nights and long workdays.
Entertainment – Normally this is only $24 for streaming services, but we did celebrate my first Mother's Day.
Like I said, I do acknowledge that a lot of this is consequences of poor decision making. In January, we had a pretty solid snowball debt payoff plan, we deleted our food delivery apps, and we really tried to cut down on spending. We don't go out and try our best to keep our spending to a minimum. Unfortunately, the economy hit car sales pretty hard and while my husband was consistently a top performer across multiple dealerships it was still not enough. He finally got a job with much better hours and consistent pay. But in the last two weeks alone, we've had to pay for bed bug treatments, emergency vet bills, and the insurance deductible from the accident (not at fault and the other party has insurance, but they went through mine first then are pursuing his? Idk it's all been a headache). And yeah, as you can guess, the credit card became the emergency fund.
So – what's the next step here? Another personal loan? Credit card balance transfer (no idea how that works)? We're trying to sell as much as we can but that's just a temporary fix.

Title: Breakthrough in TB Treatment: New Medicine Offers Hope for Eradicating the Disease

Introduction

Tuberculosis (TB), an infectious disease caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria, has plagued humanity for centuries. Despite significant progress in the medical field, TB remains a major global health concern, particularly in developing countries. However, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Recent scientific advancements have led to the development of a new medicine that holds immense promise in the fight against TB. In this article, we will explore the breakthrough and its potential to revolutionize TB treatment.

The Challenge of Tuberculosis

TB is a highly contagious disease that primarily affects the lungs but can also affect other parts of the body. It is transmitted through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes, making it particularly challenging to control. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), TB is one of the top 10 causes of death worldwide, with an estimated 10 million people falling ill and 1.5 million losing their lives to the disease each year.

Traditional Treatment and Challenges

For many decades, the standard treatment for TB has relied on a combination of antibiotics, typically involving a lengthy regimen of four drugs taken over six to nine months. While this approach has been effective to some extent, it has its limitations. Non-adherence to the treatment regimen, development of drug resistance, and adverse side effects pose significant challenges in successfully combatting TB.

The New Medicine: A Game-Changer

In recent years, researchers have been tirelessly working to develop more effective and accessible treatments for TB. One breakthrough that has shown promising results is the development of a new medicine called [insert medicine name], which represents a significant step forward in TB treatment.

[Insert medicine name] works by targeting specific mechanisms within the Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria, rendering them unable to multiply and spread. It belongs to a new class of drugs called [insert drug class], which have shown potent activity against drug-resistant strains of TB. Early clinical trials have demonstrated the medicine's efficacy in reducing the treatment duration to as little as four months, offering a potential breakthrough in shortening the overall treatment course.

Advantages and Impact

The development of [insert medicine name] brings several advantages and potential impacts in the fight against TB:

Shorter Treatment Duration: The reduced treatment duration offered by [insert medicine name] can significantly enhance treatment adherence, reducing the likelihood of drug resistance and improving patient outcomes.

Improved Effectiveness: The new medicine's ability to target drug-resistant strains of TB is a significant advancement, as drug resistance has been a major obstacle in the eradication of the disease.

Fewer Side Effects: [Insert medicine name] has shown a favorable safety profile in clinical trials, minimizing the occurrence of adverse side effects commonly associated with traditional TB treatments.

Global Impact: The availability of an effective, shorter-duration treatment could have a transformative impact on TB control efforts worldwide, particularly in resource-limited settings where access to healthcare infrastructure is limited.

Challenges and Future Directions

While the development of [insert medicine name] is a remarkable achievement, challenges still exist. The availability and affordability of the new medicine to those who need it the most, particularly in low-income countries, must be ensured. Additionally, ongoing research and investment are essential to continue the development of new drugs and treatment strategies to tackle emerging drug-resistant strains of TB.

Conclusion

The discovery of [insert medicine name] offers renewed hope in the battle against TB. With its shorter treatment duration, improved effectiveness against drug-resistant strains, and potential to reduce side effects, this breakthrough medicine brings us closer to the goal of eradicating TB globally. However, concerted efforts from governments, healthcare organizations, and the international community are vital to ensure widespread access to this

2023.06.09 19:02 DTG_Bot Community Focus - CBGray

Source: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/community_focus_cbgray
Happy time zones Guardians, and welcome to this week's Community Focus. Today we are hanging out with CBgrey, a content creator, self-proclaimed potato, and a PvE shepherd. So, let’s get into it.
Hi CB! First up, let’s talk about who you are, what your pronouns are, and what got you into gaming in the first place?
My name is Christian or CBgray but most just call me CB for short! My pronouns are he/him.
The name CBgray was a name that some of my friends called me growing up, that was just my first and middle initial and my last name! I am from Virginia originally, just outside of Washington, D.C., which will always be home to me. About a year ago I moved to Austin, Texas.
Growing up in the 90s, what really got me into gaming was Nintendo. There was something so magical about playing Pokémon on the Gameboy Color and seeing the birth of 3D gaming with games like Mario 64. I think that is what really birthed my love for video games. As I continued to get older, I had a dream to work as a game developer for Nintendo. In terms of what got me into content creation, I always wanted to try YouTube and even took a few stabs at it in high school with my cousin, Lena, and in college with one of my best friends and roommates, Gramm. Nothing really stuck though until I discovered Destiny.
Oh, I love a good cliff hanger. So how did you find Destiny?
I saw Destiny for the first time during E3. I thought the game looked like nothing I had seen before, and I recognized the name Bungie from Halo. However, despite that, I had never really played an FPS game seriously so I never would have imagined that I would fall in love with the game and still be playing it almost 10 years later. My brother, Evan, got the game on PS3 and I got the game on PS4 when it came out. I remember I was trying to win the white PS4 bundle in the Taco Bell promotion from way back when. When I started playing the game, I was hooked. I played through the whole campaign in a night with one of my best friends, Lamar, with two TV's side by side and we played all night. I had never experienced anything in gaming like that.
Around the time I started my channel, near the end of the Taken King expansion, I was going through a rough time, and I just wanted to try to create a family and a space where other people that enjoy Destiny could come together and help each other out with things inside the game and outside of the game. I had completely fallen in love with the game at this point and sank more hours in it during college than I probably should have with the amount of computer science work I had at the time, but I was really just hoping to form friendships with others and just provide an atmosphere where we could take our minds off things.
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that would happen, so I'm really grateful. I can't thank my friends and family for believing in me when it could have looked like I was just wasting my time. I’m especially thankful to my mom who, without even knowing what it was, bought me an Elgato in 2016 when I couldn't afford it. Streaming was still a new concept in 2016 so I really appreciated their support. Thank you mom, dad, Evan, Kashema, Lamar, Tyler, Quan, Gramm, Nate, and so many others.

Through good and sad times, Destiny seems to be a way a lot of people find their community, and it’s really neat to hear about another one forming.
Speaking of building a community, you recently left your job to do content creation full time. How had that changed the way you play the game, create content, and interact with your community?
I did! It was a scary leap, but it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Honestly, I don't think it changed the way I play the game as much as it's allowed me to enhance what I was already doing, just putting my 100 percent info focusing on interacting with our community and making content on the game we all love. I have always wanted to see what my content could be like if I could just give it my best shot, so I am very grateful to the community for putting me in a position to do this as a job and to do what I love.
That’s really great to hear, keep on keeping on CB!
So, what type of content do you tend to focus on? Are you a PvE shepherd or a PvP no scope 360 kind of player?
For streams I mainly focus on helping players with PvE related activities! For example, I have 900 total helps for the Whisper and Zero Hour Missions. I love those missions so much, but even more than that, I love helping players cross the finish line on activities that they may have been struggling with or maybe just couldn't find players to game with. This type of content will always hold such a special place in my heart for myself and many others that I met along the way like Pause, Skarrow9, and so many others in the YouTube streaming family.
In terms of YouTube videos, we started off making helpful guides for players in the game as well as theory videos (as we would call them) where I along with Vet, Sweat, and so many others would hunt for things like Whisper of the Worm before it was out. More recently on YouTube, my focus over the past few years has been short-form content where I really just am trying to put a smile on people's faces for 60 seconds. It's mainly just a mixture of me being a goofball and trying to provide players with quick helpful information. That has kind of been my main niche for videos since Covid. I love these videos and it makes me happy to see people's reactions to them.
My next focus is on my Pokémon styled Destiny challenges, but we will talk more about that later!
Before we get to that, we have to know what your main character is, and your favorite loadout.
Titan for sure, it's been my main character since 2014.
My favorite loadout is a hard one but I'll just name some of my favorite things over the years. For armor, Lion Rampants (my babies), Twilight Garrison, and Precious Scars with the ornament to make it the tinfoil hat. (Important in our community.)
For weapons, the D1 Touch of Malice was my favorite gun in the game. Some other guns include Whisper of the Worm, Legend of Acrius in Vanilla D2, and the Duke Hand Cannon.
Alright, we’ve got a few questions left, let’s hear about the vibe of your channel for people who might want to stop by.
The vibe my channel brings is a chill escape. I try to make sure the channel feels like a place where you can just come to have a good time, feel welcomed, and not have to worry about anything else that might be going on. Just a place to hopefully leave with a smile on your face. Our community has lifted my spirits so many times that I just hope that our channel can reciprocate that for others who may need it.
Love that, truly.
What is something you wish you knew before starting Destiny?
I feel like there are things that probably could have been beneficial to know before starting Destiny, like maybe having a deeper understanding about FPS games like Halo and other games or the realm of possibilities with content creation. I genuinely didn't think I had much to offer to the community. That deterred me from starting sooner. Even to have this conversation with y’all feels like I am dreaming. So maybe if I knew what was possible, I would have started earlier. But with that being said, I'm glad I didn't know because it allowed me to follow the exact path that led me here and I wouldn't change that for the world. Also not having that much knowledge in the FPS space made for such a new and fun journey in gaming for me that felt so new.
So, I guess my actual answer is, I'm happy with what I knew.
That is a rad way to think about it. Having an understanding would have been helpful at the time, but it would have changed your experience.
So, what’s next for you and your community? Anything fun coming up or any events you are particularly excited for?
More Pokémon challenges in Destiny 2! I just recently did an ExoticDex challenge (what I call it) where I did a subathon stream where I collected all 222 obtainable Exotics in one stream! It took 16 days, but it was one of my favorite streams ever! I plan to bring more challenges like these to our community over the coming months on Twitch and YouTube side! I'm so excited and really feel a fire to try to innovate as much as and I am grateful to our community for putting me in a position to give it my all! Also, thank you to my team working behind the scenes for making that event possible.
That is absolutely wild CB. Such a neat thing to come up with.
Now having the experience that you do with Destiny, what do you want to tell any of the New Lights out there reading this?
Don't stress and play the game how you want to play it. There are so many fun memories to make in this game and that should be the focus. Everything else will fall into place as you go. Also realize that some of the friends you make in game will be friends you have for life. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be living with two people I met through Destiny, but I couldn't be happier to now share a home with Sweat and Evan. It blows my mind how much Destiny has changed all of our lives. It's just the power and magic of Destiny.
Where can people find you?
Anything else you want to add?
I just need to give a big thank you to our community. I would not be having this interview without them. I want to thank you, and everyone at Bungie for creating a game and a community that has changed my life, I'm really grateful. I thank god every day that I picked up this game and got to meet all the amazing people I've gotten to meet. This game and community has saved my life. A million thank you’s wouldn't be enough. I'm grateful for the opportunity. To anyone discouraged with anything in life, follow your dreams and don't give up. Anything is truly possible with patience and persistence.
And there we have it, this week’s Community Focus. Be sure to swing by CB’s channels and give him a follow if you want to check out his content for yourself. And don’t forget to check out our Community Focus with [email protected] and Plumli. Thanks for hanging out with us!

2023.06.09 19:01 TechnoVikingGA23 Pet Budgeting for Guests on the Show

The Mt. Dew guy today made me think about this and I can't remember seeing it on any past videos if people had pets, but I think it would be cool if Caleb went into budgeting for pet owners when his guests have an animal. In the case of today's video it would have been good to highlight to him that he can't afford basic vet care for his cat due to his Mt. Dew addiction and other things. No money for basic vet services or any kind of emergency if it arises.
This is just something I see Ramit do all of the time on "I Will Teach You to be Rich" where he goes into it with pet owners on how much they need to have budgeted for basic vet care/food, etc. As someone that owns two little goblins(cats) I know how expensive it can get especially when emergency things pop up and it's very interesting to me how many people don't include their pet care in their normal budgets. I actually keep a sinking fund in case we have a "surprise" vet bill outside their normal shots and check ups.

2023.06.09 19:00 DaveOfTheDead3 Renters Advise for plumbing issues Austin.

So my 70ish year old parents have been renting the same house for about the last 40 years with the same owners who I think they get along with. They however haven't done any work on the house in at least 2 decades and it's starting to fall apart. My parents always tried to fix issues themselves in fear of rent increases. Now they are having plumbing issues and are too afraid to tell the landlord as they can't afford any more rent increases. They just upped their rent $300 a month this past year which is already more than they can really afford living on social security but now they can't even use the toilet and I'm not sure what to do.
I do not know if they have even signed a lease recently as it's be 40 yrs.
Bottom line is I'm not sure how to handle this and my parents are stubborn. They need to have a working bathroom. I 95% belive it's the sewer pipe under the house that needs to be replaced as it's both the shower, tub and washing machine drain all in the one bathroom having issues. Tried snaking but only helped a little and continues to worsen. I had similar issues in my home and old sewer pipe with roots inside needed to be replace and was quite expensive.
My dad's a vet with heart issues and my mother hasn't seen a doctor since the 80s. I'm I my 50s and feel helpless. They need a working shower and toilet.
If it's a big expense what if they refuse or raise rent or evict would we have any defense/laws to cite to help avoid this?
I know the owners were thinking of selling during the boom but the house would need a total remodel as everything is over 40 years old and starting to show hence the plumbing. I think they are just as old and may not have the funds either but not sure. As far as I know they have been good to my parents and kept rent low for that area but again I don't think they have spent almost anything on the house in 40yrs.
I dont wanna start a war, I don't wanna get litigious and I really don't wanna make space in the front room for an air mattress lol. I just want my 70yr old parents to use the restroom in peace.
Any help advise is greatly appreciated. Just would like to be prepared when I force mom to call them lol.

REVISED: Reasons why _ borns are definitely Generation _ By Life Stages: Analysis (Series #1: Reasons why 1968 borns are definitely Generation X)
Here's the original: https://www.reddit.com/generationology/comments/n6jh3n/reasons_why_borns_are_definitely_generation_by/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Reasons why 1968 borns are definitely Generation X

Life stages (these are not objective life stages but just what's going to be used for this analysis):
0-4 = Unconscious child
4-10 = Conscious child
10-18 = Adolescent (child by legality)
18-34 = Young adult
34-50 = Average adult
50-65 = Middle-aged adult
65+ = Old adult/elderly (not needed since this cohort will not reach that stage until 2033)

Life Stage #1: Unconscious child = c. 1968-1972

https://preview.redd.it/vaorp98qu05b1.png?width=420&format=png&auto=webp&s=70c5f04ec2bfc31f97039be3ded08b2008d1e89f
They were born years after the demographic baby boom, during the countercultural era of 1968, the biggest year in a long time. Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy were assassinated, there was a civil unrest, and Ronald Milhouse Nixon was elected as the 37th president of the United States. Their unconscious childhood years were in the late '60s and early '70s, during the peak of the countercultural movement with events like the civil unrest, Woodstock '69, Apollo 11, Kent State shooting, the draft being abolished, Title IX, and finally Watergate, which was around the time they started becoming conscious. They were probably theoffspring of a hippie as well. Baby Boomers were typically the hippies themselves rather than the babies of hippies. Generation X were the babies of hippies.
Age 0 - 1968/1969
Age 1 - 1969/1970
Age 2 - 1970/1971
Age 3 - 1971/1972
Age 4 - 1972
Life stage #2: Conscious child = c. 1972-1978

They were a conscious child throughout the 1970's, both numerical and cultural. Their first memory might have occurred around the time of Watergate, give or take. They were children during a time when television and entertainment was barely focused on the children and protecting them but predominantly adult-centered. They still had some great cartoons in their own right and some were educational, but IMHO, it was the dark ages for kid culture. They experienced a lot of events during that time, whether they remember it or not, during their elementary school years. Events such as the Vietnam War ending, Title IX, the Roe v. Wade case, the deaths of Bruce Lee and Elvis Presley, Nixon's resignation, the oil crisis, 1976 election, NYC power outage of summer '77, the launches of Apple and Atari 2600, as well as the birth of many popular movie/TV series we know today like Jaws, Saturday Night Live, Star Wars, and many others. Baby Boomers were barely children in the 1970's so experiencing most/all of these milestones as a child sounds exclusively Generation X.
Age 4 - 1972/1973
Age 5 - 1973/1974
Age 6 - 1974/1975
Age 7 - 1975/1976
Age 8 - 1976/1977
Age 9 - 1977/1978

Their adolescence started at the peak of disco and New Wave was rising up as well as during the Jonestown massacre which killed roughly 900 people. This was probably the first historic event that they watched on television where they understood the impact of what was going on unlike the previous events. Same with the death of Harvey Milk. The Walkman was also introduced during their adolescence. Other events happened during their adolescence such as the election of Margaret Thatcher who would be Prime Minister of Great Britain for the entirety of the 1980's (1979-1990), the trail/sentence of Ted Bundy, Iran hostage crisis, disappearance of many kids (which would influence the national and social change of America in later years), the 1980 election and Reagan election, early 80's recession, the video game crash of 1983 and the release of the NES, the reelection of Reagan, the debut of WrestleMania, and finally the Challenger explosion and Chernobyl, which occurred by their senior year of high school in 1986. They were heavily influenced by the emergence of hip-hop in the late '70s-early '80s and were adolescents during its earlier underground EMC stage. Their adolescence was defined by the first wave of MTV in the '80s (when MTV was actually good) as well as being the perfect age for many "coming of age" films (mostly from John Hughes) such as Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Sixteen Candles, the Breakfast Club, Ferris Beuler's Day Off, Pretty in Pink, and many others that came out during the early-mid '80s. Their adolescence was heavily defined by the Reagan administration (although their early adolescence was when Carter was still in office, Reagan had a dominant effect on them). New Wave, hip hop, glam metal, heavy metal, pop music, and many other genres defined their adolescence. They had the best of Michael Jackson as well. This is pretty stereotypically Gen X.

Their young adulthood had a huge change, spanning from the mid '80s to the early '00s. In their 18-24 young adult years, they were at the forefront of the "classic" Golden Age of Hip Hop (c. 1986-1992) which included the likes of NWA, Eric B and Rakim (a 1968 cohort), LL Cool J (another 1968 cohort), and many other legendary artists/rap groups that changed the rap industry forever. Besides that, they were also young adults during gangsta rap (the '90s version of the Golden Age of Hip Hop), hair metal, grunge, post-grunge, R&B, boy bands, teen pop, bubblegum pop, Nu Metal, minivan rock, electrodance, pop punk, and many other genres of music. They would be within the core age group for F.R.I.E.N.D.S., at least by experience (the cast members and characters were a bunch of young adults in their mid-late 20's and early 30's going through life together). They witnessed a lot of great comedies in their young adult years during the '90s. Aside from that, they were hit hard by not only the 1987 stock market crash as college students but also the early '90s recession as college graduates and found it hard to obtain a job, thus older people called them "slackers". They witnessed many historical events during their young adulthood such as the Fall of the Berlin Wall and the USSR collapse, ending the Cold War, the Rodney King beatings/LA riots, 1992 election, WTC bombing, OKC bombing (caused by a fellow 1968 cohort, Timothy McVeigh), the deaths of Kurt Cobain, 2Pac, Biggie Smalls, and Princess Diana, the OJ Simpson trial case, the Columbine shooting, the Y2K scare, the Dot Com bubble burst, the 2000 election, the turn of the millennium, and finally 9/11. They were starting to have families in the '90s as well, since most of their kids would be born within roughly 1995 and 2005, give or take. They were probably affected by the Dot Com Bubble burst as early 30-somethings as well. The 9/11 attacks were basically the last major event of their young adulthood. Boomers were already in their average adulthood by that point, and the oldest were already hitting midlife. Generation X were young adults.

Their regular adult years (mid 30s to 40s) began shortly after 9/11. Their core prominence on pop culture was behind them since they already left a huge mark, but now they are starting to drive and control what is the pop culture of our era. Their generation started to become the main adult generation by the 2000s and 2010s (the 2020s as well). Most of the people their ages should definitely be starting and raising families by now if they haven't already. They were impacted by huge events such as the establishment of Homeland security, the Iraq War, the rise of social media, Hurricane Katrina, the advent and rise of smartphones, the Great Recession (when they were pushing 40), the 2008 election, Occupy Wall Street, multiple school shootings (that made them fear and worry about if their own kids will face that in school eventually), multiple movements (SJW, BLM, Women's), and the 2016 election. They would turn 50, ending their average adulthood, by 2018, in the midst of the Trump administration. Most Boomers were hitting middle-age. Generation X were the average adults back then.

They are currently in their middle adulthood since they are over the age of 50. They are most likely going through their mid-life crises right now. Most of their children are either grown or are not too far from adulthood in the next few years. The biggest events they witnessed were the attacks of many churches, the climate strikes, the Trump impeachment (both), the 2020 election, the Capitol Building riots, and most importantly, the COVID-19 pandemic. Boomers are hitting elderly now, while Gen X are hitting their mid-life crises.

Well, this one wasn’t meant to be this long or have so much stuff going on. enjoy.
Thanks, u/SpacePaladin15 for the universe And u/VeryUnluckyDice for implanting a tumour into my brain.
And thanks to u/A_Tank_With_Internet for proofreading this chapter.

Memory transcription subject: Colton Anderson,
Date [standardised human time]: October 24, 2136
“Why not get another guitar? If you’re gonna teach me I’ll need one of my own anyway.”
Anaw was right. I might not be able to prove that a guitar is an instrument without getting deep-fried, but Anaw could, he wasn't a predator. All I had to do was help him get a guitar and then teach him an exterminator-friendly song to play and boom, I get my guitar back! I smiled under my mask, things were finally looking up for once.
It sure beats coming up with a dramatic plan to murder a venlil exterminator which will almost certainly lead to my death.
I stood up from the table, Confidence renewed, “Alright Dude. let's get you a guitar!”“What, Right now?” Anaw asked me, surprised by the sudden decision.
“Why not? The trouble is, We’re on Venlil Prime, the only guitars here would be the ones taken by refugees from Earth. Not many people would be willing to part with theirs, but still going to the shelter might be worth a shot.”
“How long will that take?”
I have to check my pad for this one. As I figured out the fastest route I noticed some more venlil come in they must be the next shift's workers.
Shouldn't they have been here earlier? Ah fuck it I don't care I gotta get Colton his guitar
After a little bit of mental math produced an answer, “A bit more than a claw? Maybe? If you have commitments I can go on my own.”
“I think I can manage that.” Anaw was enthusiastic and I hated putting a damper on that optimism but I had to take this seriously.
“There will be a lot of humans there, without masks on… are you sure you wanna go?”
“Yeah I really do, but I’ve never even a human without their mask, not even you, what if I panic?”
There is a very good chance he might panic. But I gotta be supportive right?
“You won't panic, you've gotten this far. If you do I’ll be there.”
“Okay, But I have to wash this frone juice out of my wool first.”
After Anaw mentioned it I did notice the sweet smell and slightly damp look of his wool.
“Frone juice?”
“It’s a juice made from a really sweet purple fruit called a frone, it has a hard shell and a soft fleshy inside.”
I shrug and stare blankly at Anaw.
“you didn’t notice me being a tasty snack?”
If I had a drink I would have spat it out.
Thankfully since the next shift’s workers have already come in, I could order one while I waited for Anaw to misuse the emergency shower. Apparently, venlil kitchens all have Showers in case someone catches on fire.
So venlil are flammable. Good to know. Dark, but good to know.
—--
Anaw and I walked to the Train station. Venlil got exhausted much faster than humans so the nearest public transport was never far off. Usually, cities would have a ‘tube network’ which wasn't dissimilar to a city metro. I had to give it to the venlil, they had great public transport. Even in the agricultural areas where I worked, there would still be autonomous taxis that could take you where you needed to go.
It didn't take long to reach the station and get on a train to Greenmedow
“Anaw do you want me to transfer some more music to your tablet for the ride, it's gonna be a pretty long one so we have time.”
Anaw brought up his pad and accepted the file transfer. He pressed play.
——-
“Hey Colton, why did the exterminators take your guitar anyway?”
Because he’s a dick.
“I don’t know why, he just took it, he only claimed it was a weapon after.”
Mcflammable probably knows it’s not a weapon.
I suppose it’s wrong to assume that this exterminator is doing this out of malice rather than misunderstanding since I don’t actually have hard evidence.
Then again Firelord Flufflefuck has given me little reason to believe he doesn't genuinely love to see me suffer. At least I know I'm making someone happy.
“I think it's unfair that people are so afraid of you Colton.”
“It's just how it is Anaw, people will get used to humans eventually, for now, I just have to be careful not to scare anyone.”“But I'm afraid, and I know I shouldn't be because you're nice.”
I sighed, Anaw is probably the only person outside of the shelter that I can really talk to.
Not sure what was up with vemly though, maybe she got scared off, that's unfortunate.
“I want to see your face.”
“What? You just said you were afraid!”
“Maybe it's just like the music, all I have to do is see it and I’ll be okay?”
“Come on Anaw we’re not doing this here.”
To my surprise Anaw actually tried climbing on me “No one else is here, come on please!”
I didn't really want to remove my mask. I find it quite comfortable. What was less so was Anaw now on my lap trying to pull it off. I decided to relent lest Anaw accidentally claw me in the face or something.
Anaw has really unusual behaviour for a venlil, has metal corrupted his mind or something?
I began to pull off my mask slowly, revealing my face to Anaw, I look out the window of the train, seeing the scenery fly by.Out of my peripheral vision, I could tell Anaw is just staring at me. He was still sitting on my lap, paws clenched around my arms.
Honestly, this is a very compromising po- NO THOUGHTS HEAD EMPTY NOW!
“I'm so sorry Colton but I’m Very scared right now”
I'm not surprised, Deep Lake doesn't have any humans in it, I’m probably the first human he's ever met.
I’m so sorry Anaw but your claws are digging into me.
THUD
My head snaps to the entrance of the train carriage. The sudden movement also caused Anaw to flinch back, accidentally cutting my arm with his claws in the process. He continued to fall down onto the opposite bench. I didn’t see anyone at the entrance. Curious I donned my mask and walked over to the source of the noise. Anaw scrambled back into a standing position and followed me, staying a bit further away than he previously would.
Its a venlil, lying face down.
Anaw then spoke, “H-he must have seen your p-predator eyes and passed out.”
What the fuck is everyone's problem with my eyes. I'm sick and tired of this shit.
No, not the time to be like this. Anaw is afraid but he is trying at least.
“I’ll go grab some water for him”
Anaw dug through his carry pouch. “I have a bottle, you just have to fill it up”
I took Anaws water bottle and headed to the train's toilet room.
I’m sorry strange venlil, but the bathroom water it is today
I began to fill the water bottle from the sink. The straps of my mask were digging into my skin, so I pulled it off to re-adjust it. I saw my face in the mirror.
After everything. It's still me.
My brain tried reading the expression of the person before me, but their face remained enigmatic as ever.
The water bottle was completely filled and I took it back to Anaw. The venlil who passed out had already come to and was yammering on about seeing a predator, while Anaw comforted him.
Anaw gestured for me to pass the bottle. The venlil saw me and beeped in alarm
It would be cute if it wasn't so sad
“I think ill just sit to the side” I assured the pair.
I plopped myself down onto one of the seats on the opposite corner of the wagon that faced away from them. Staring through the window, the scenery rushed by, moving on without a care.
I put my headphones on and turned the volume up high.

A/N: Yeah. At least Greenmedow sounds like a nice place.

2023.06.09 18:23 Pentax-MX 160 Days Free. My Testimony.

I was in conversation with another member today. We were sharing nofap experiences and I didn't even realise when I got carried away and just wrote up an entire testimony. Thought it might be good encouragement for the sub. Feel free to read if you want, here's what I wrote:
Wow, you know, it's so strange hearing other people's testimonies in this matter. Everybody's journey through this issue is similar but different in key areas and fuelled by different insecurities and shortcomings. For example, what you said about you conflating your penis size with true masculinity is something I can never relate to but that's because my journey through this addiction was different to yours. Hippie christians like to say that there are many ways to God but I only find the opposite to be true. Many ways to Satan and the destruction that lays in wait for the unwary. Many ways but one destination.
My journey with PMO was different. When I was about 8 my family emigrated to the UK and I started attending primary school in London. Looking back, this was a stressful time in my life. I was barely fitting in my school back in my home country because of the restrictive bringing up that I received from my dad. Relating to peers was always difficult for me because I didn't watch/play the same movies/games as everybody else, we had no TV at home, I had no interest in sport, etc... Transferring schools to a foreign country had it's toll. I was faced with a whole new culture. Kids interacted differently here, they were louder, bolder, more disrespectful towards teachers, wasted food, etc... I was struggling to process all these differences. Around this time I had first come into contact with the concept of masturbation via seeing peers that would fondle their privates in class. I didn't really understand what they were doing at the time but I was also experiencing first pangs of sexual curiosity. I was always really easily infatuated with girls since I was little but I felt a stronger drive towards older girls and the teachers. My fantasies would usually explore the impossible, somehow it never occurred to me at the time that this may be dangerous, I always had a rich imagination.
Later I experienced another cultural shock when my family moved city and I went to high school without my friends from primary. This city had a very different demographic and as a result so did the schools. While all schools in greater London are ethnically mixed, this area of London was very Somali Muslim dominated. The school culture was far more aggressive but perhaps that's just down to it being high school. There were fights, smokers, phones (blackberries were the hot thing at the time), gangster rap, swearing, etc... Some kids get exposed to these things earlier on but my primary school left me very sheltered. This time I was really lost at sea with no compass. Finding common ground was really difficult and I wasn't one for seclusion because I was always really social and outgoing. In school, most kids arrange themselves into groups according to their interests and qualities. The footballers form one group, the fly boys and rebels form another, there are also the half cool half nerdy types that ace all the tests without studying. Lastly, if you don't make it into any of these three, you usually wind up with the cast outs. The emo kids, the gay/trans wierdo types. At least in the 2010's this last group was really fringe and didn't have much of a voice, now it's all different...
I was lucky to land into the 3rd group. Finally making some friends and not feeling so alone, I was making myself a place in school. We usually hung out in the library, playing yugioh cards and looking through manga and comic books to find dirty pictures... I must have been 12 around this time. YouTube was still new and it was a wild west. My first exposure to soft porn was though YouTube during my first years of having my own room and PC. Looking back, this was a mistake but I was the oldest child and my parents didn't know any better. The internet opened my world to new things that I never heard of, and new grounds for relating to my peers. I was getting into rap music (behind my dad's back of course) and sharing albums with my cool nerd buddies. Next was anime and all the perversion that goes along with that. I was really lost. This pattern of masturbating to fantasies about teachers had really amplified by this time. I never really stopped to question why that was until today. I suspect that I was acting out a subconscious contempt for my mother. During my childhood, my mother and father were always at odds with each other as to how I should be brought up. My dad was always on the side of growth and discipline, my mother was always pulling the other way. She was always my enabler, the one who covered up my misdeeds keeping me from responsibility, the one who would listen and find understanding for any choice that I made. She meant well and I was always very open with her growing up but I think deep down inside, I resented her for it. Because I knew I was walking the easy way and she was making it possible. I was missing out on a healthy relationship with my father because it put expectations on me.
Finally, I went to college. Another move, this time to a completely different part of the country. By this time, rap and hip hop culture was deeply ingrained in my mind. I had a juvenile record for vandalism, shoplifting and cannabis smoking behind my belt. Moving out of the city had me feeling lost and looking for a way out. I was being sucked in by evil forces into further drug experimentation, my curiosity was fixed on the psychedelic mushrooms that grow in abundance in the region to which we moved. I fell for the lie that there is freedom and enlightenment at the end of that road. My mind was constantly revolving around drugs, rap, anime and other worthless things. College had me depressed. I was failing my courses even though I was an A predicted student. I was being bombarded by rad fem, neo-marxist dogma in my humanities class and I was sick of it. I couldn't articulate my disgust at the time but I just knew I had enough of this place. At this time my porn addiction was spinning out of control. I was compulsively consuming anal porn involving middle aged actresses. I was venturing into extreme hentai and even bestiality at the worst of times.
Something was brewing. I was conflicted because at the same time I was becoming exposed to the conservative revolution that seemed to be taking place in 2017-2018. There was a wave of change going through the internet. Everybody felt it. People like Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro and others were becoming prominent voices and they were telling me something compelling. That the thing I'm lacking in my life is responsibility and that I need to get my act together. I was also learning to articulate my distaste for the education system that I felt but didn't understand at the time. They gave me the words that I needed.
To cut the story short, I failed college and went to work. Got my first job in the fall of 2018 in a food factory via agency, going back and forth on random shifts with a Greek guy that they paired me up with for transport. Over the next 4 years I got to work many different kinds of blue collar jobs ranging from food to a car panel welding plant and a forklift/warehouse/deliveries in out/phone job. I learned that the world outside isn't as dull a place as they make you believe in school. I met many interesting people, middle aged guys with their heads screwed on as opposed to being surrounded by a bunch of angsty teenagers who don't know jack shit about life. Don't get me wrong, my life was still a mess. I got into smoking, my porn use was degenerating and I was still childishly ungrateful for my lot in life but I was learning to take responsibility for my actions. I was getting pay checks every month, contributing my bit to the house budget, saving the rest on the side. I finally felt like I was hauling my ass. I finally felt like some vague fog of a life plan was emerging out of the chaos.
In the last 2 years I decided to give my life to Christ. I was always brought up in the spirit of Christian values but I only ever rejected it up until now. I realised that God has a life for me if I trust in him. That I'm conflicted and that the time has come to stop teetering on the fence. I dedicated 2022 to self improvement, reading books, developing a relationship with my dad and brother, repairing the damaged one with my mother, swimming, playing an instrument, programming and also nofap. My first year of was a mixed success, it was a good learning experience a good foundation for 2023 when I finally managed to take off for good. I am currently 160 days into my streak (monkmode) and not looking back at all. Jesus Christ saved my life, literally from the despair and chaos that defined it up until this point. I finally realised that I have a purpose, that my life actually matters and that I can dedicate it to service and living a Godly life aimed at the good.
This has gotten awfully long hasn't it? It was meant to be a brief outline of my nofap journey but I guess it just wasn't that simple, turned into a full blown testimony. Anyway, this was more or less how I went through the motions.

2023.06.09 18:09 Dani-With-Rats Urgent elderly rat emergency care questions

I have a two and a half year old rat who’s been steadily declining for weeks. Last night when I went to check on her she had blood all over her coming from her mouth. My vet wasn’t open till morning so I cleaned her up and figured out a gabapentin dose to keep her stable through the night which helped a ton. There’s no more blood now but she’s not in a great state. She was already frail and old and this has just stressed her out so much. We think that she was eating a treat and bit down too hard cutting the inside of her mouth. Her teeth started to grow out a little in the last month but she can still bite and eat smaller pieces of food. I had this happen with a previous rat who was towards the end and we had just switched to a mushy diet to save her from the stress of getting teeth shaved down. So I hadn’t thought too much of it. anyways sorry my head is so jumbled i’ve had just abt three hours of sleep. So my normal vet isn’t available till tuesday.. there is an emergency vet abt an hour away that says they take exotics. But i’m worried abt stressing her out too much. Is it truly worth it to take her in to try and trim her teeth ? or would it just be more stress than it’s worth with her old age ? I’m pretty sure they have to put rats under as well when they trim the teeth and I don’t think she can handle that after everything. do the benefits of going to a vet outweigh the stress she would go through ? bc i honestly can’t tell anymore. Part of me wants to keep her here, keep her medicated, and keep her comfy till she’s ready to go. Maybe i’m being cynical but I don’t think she has much fight left in her and i don’t want her final moments to be at a vet feeling scared. But then I worry i’m not getting her the care she needs if i do that just someone please give me advice

2023.06.09 18:00 NYC-ninja Quick Question

I have a 2022 SE R4P, based in NY and MTL.
You know how the XSE comes with an regular outlet in the trunk, so you plug stuff into your prime, like an electric stove, etc.
How can I replicate that with my SE? Is it possible to get a converter to connect to the external charge port (the one you use to charge the main drive train battery)?
I'm looking to be able to charge regular appliances from my prime while camping, or in emergency situations. Thanks!
