For the people who don't know according to Bruce Campbell the cannon events of the evil dead films are all of the first film then you cut to the part in the second film where it recrates the original ending then watch the rest of evil dead 2 then as Ash heads towards the portal cut straight to the beginning of Army of darkness. I've hade a non-cannon in universe explanation for the overlapping scenes and timeline weirdness since I watched the films years ago and I recently told my mates about the theory after showing them the films so I decided to post it.
ED1 = Evil dead 1
ED2 = Evil dead 2
ED3 = Evil dead 3: Army of darkness
EDR =Evil dead rise
My theory is that the beginning of ED2 was just a deadite torturing him as it possesses him since deadites only really possess people if there dead, close to death or mentally broken/weak soul especially in the first 2 films, so it was just keeping him broken to keep control of his soul.
The events after the possession in ED2 explains the ending of ED1 because its show there we're still some pages of the book left that are found by the daughter of the professor so when Ash destroyed the book in ED1 it was enough to kill the deadites / his friends but not fully get rid of the evil which also explains why the sun helped him gets unpossessed because the evil is weaker and only gets stronger and crazy again slowly when the lost pages get brought closer and closer back by the daughter
(The scene where the entire cabins laughs at him and goes crazy is followed by ash shooting and then the daughter and others come inside)
the reason why ED3 is different both in style and to following the ending of ED2 is because its shown to be a story he's telling to a co-worker so the third film is actually the story he's telling to hisco-worker of the events after ED2 as he makes it more cooler by stretching the truth which you could use to say its called Army of darkness not Evil dead 3 because its his story of fighting a Army of darkness and not the real events of his third dealings with the evil dead
(yes i know they called it that because of copy right problems but its nice that you could use it for this)
The show kind of proves this by showing Ash getting confused with the events of prior films yet remembering all of them at once and how everyone in his home town thinks he killed all his friends from the first film showing there deaths and events are canon.
at the beginning of the show Ash already has the book even though he left the book in ED3 this could mean before the events of the show and after the real events of ED3 when everyone thought he was crazy Ash decided to track down evidence of the books and found the 2nd book the one he has at the beginning of the show. Ash may of also found out about the book in the vault and left it thinking it was safe
This would also explain way Ash already has a trailer done up for holding his weapons and gear before the events of the show since he probably got a trailer home did it up so he could travel looking for the other books/evidence while having a base equipped to fight deadites.
When it comes to the remake I think that's a separate time line with 2 possibilities.
version 1 where Ash died at the end of the original since he's car is still there and what happened was that the daughter of the professor found the book and the bodys and after stopping the deadites covered the book in warnings and barbed wire to try to stop others reading it which led to the remake but it doesn't explain the into which take place before that since it already has warnings but you could say she added more
or version 2 which i prefer but is bonkers it that the remake follows the events of The Evil dead games
(Evil Dead: hail to the king then Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick then Evil Dead: regeneration)
where in there events Ash gets his hand possessed and cut off and his friends possessed and killed in the same night but then jenny is kidnapped by bad ash which leds Ash going through time but after saving jenny and returning to there time 10 years late warping into the hometown it turns out a friend of the professor just released a collection of phrases he translated in a book he made in that 10 year gap. jenny dies shortly after off screen and during a interview for the book the curse is released again and the game ends with Ash going through time again. (During/between these games Ash doesn't go back to the cabin or gets his car)
Off screen Ash returns from the past again this time almost right after him and jen went back in time Ash is put in a Asylum for what happened at the cabin and a doctor there experiments with the book which once again leds Ash to save the day and get sent into a worm hole with the book of the dead which is probably why in the remake the book already has warnings, instructions in English how to kill deadites in the intro of the remake which takes place before Ash's group is even involved.
The idea is that after living years in the past Ash Tried to stop his friends deaths and the events of that night by leaving the book in the cabin on purpose but with instructions to destroy it and with warnings and how to kill each monster thinking that his friends would find it and destroy it or at least have instructions to survive better.
which ends up not stopping the loop but making the curse happen to other people as well as seen in the intro of the remake which leds the cabin being owned to other people then the professors family, which is why theres now pictures of the people in the remake in there younger years. and why the brother remarks how teenagers must of broke in since they were last there years ago
finally this could also explain Ash being in the church for the recording of the meeting set in 1920's in EDR which means that EDR also follows the time line of Ash getting sent through time multiple times Ash might of looked for the 3rd book but it was already owned by the church in the at the latest 1920 probably way before that just not found so after hearing the meeting and seeing them say no and that no one should touch it or read it Ash thought it was in safe hands.

I'm trading my GT line Stinger in. I've had it 3.5 years and put a whopping 12k miles on it. I was promoted to a new position that requires significant travel (for me anyway). I was looking at the CTR but the 4 seat thing killed it...and I need a highway car so the mpg sucked. Then the Civic SI (which is selling for 36k locally with markups). Someone pointed me at the Integra.
I am 99% sure I'm buying an A spec with tech package tomorrow for 36,500. Talk me out of it...I want to make the right decision.

I want a manual transmission sedan that's sporty and fun, moddable eventually. Need seating for 5 (take my 4 kids to school or pick them up from school at least 3 times a week). High mpg with good tech options and luxury. My budget is up to 50k (I'd prefer 40k) right now and I plan to pay cash. I don't race or drive like an idiot but I'm still worried about going from a 4.7s to 7s+ 0-60 but there's nothing else anywhere near that with my budget.

I considered the Elantra N but the markups are also high and the interior sucks. Also the GLI but VW reliability for high mileage is very hit or miss.

Hello, after this last LP fill we are having issues with the furnace.
Lines are bled down.
Furnace will try to fire three, four, or five times before it lights. Once it’s lit it is OK. But every time it tries to go it struggles to fire.
We drove about 2K miles, also filled the LP tanks recently.
Travel trailer, dual 20lb tanks.
Any advice?
P.S. I tried searching but we have terrible signal here so I figured I’d just ask the question.

• I have some friends to play with and they will chat live through discord, is it feasible on steam deck and can it handle it well?
  
• best settings for best graphics, smooth frame rate for 1) when SD plugged in 2) SD not plugged in
  
• cross platform progression : is it really coming? Does it mean that I have to pay the games for Ps5 and PC but can get my saves from either of those?

ok I have a Cadillac xt5 with 300hp/270 ftlb torque and have a trailer lined up that's 3000lb's unloaded and traveling to banff, been told some of the hills maybe a bit of an issue for the xt5, do you see any issues with this configuration, the tow limit for the car is 3500lbs and I'd suspect that we might get close to that. The only issue that I can think of is the transmission over heating, so was thinking about a transmission oiler cooler. Thanks for any advice in advance.

I just wanted to briefly mention that a feature film that I was a part of producing is playing in a week's time (Thursday, June 8) at Arkadin Cinema. 7 PM. If you haven't been to the Arkadin yet, it's somewhat new - extremely cool space run by lovely people, great programming - a must visit, IMO.
What's the film? It's called YELLING FIRE IN AN EMPTY THEATER. It was a selection at the 2022 Slamdance Film Festival and was recently picked up by FandoCinedigm. We've been doing a kind of roadshow with the movie and so far have hit about twenty different cities around the US. This is our final leg of the tour and we're excited to bring the film to St. Louis.
We do not have the funds to be able to travel and be there in person, but writedirector Justin Zuckerman will be Zoom-ing in after the movie for a post-screening discussion.
There are really not too many good ways to get the word out about a small movie like this anymore - thought I'd pop on here just to let you know the movie exists, in the off-chance it happens it might be to someone's taste who can go.
The movie is something of an homage (and kind of a satire?) on the 'mumblecore' movies of the 2000s - it was shot for $2.5k on a miniDV camcorder, in a Brooklyn apartment whose rent was more than the entire shooting budget. It's an often-absurd comedy about a young woman who moves from FL to NYC and gets entangled in the crumbling relationship of the couple she moves in with.
We've had some good press and reviews for the movie, and if you're an aspiring filmmaker or just someone who enjoys small movies, I think you might like it.

Hello, I’m looking for a used pickup truck and would like some advice narrowing down my options. My budget is $10-20k but I’d prefer to keep it closer to $15k and save some money for a camper conversion setup. This car would probably just be me and my gf 90% of the time but it would be nice to have passenger seats for the 10%. I don’t mind buying a car with 100-180k miles as long as it still has a another 100k or so in it.
My priority features are:
•Fuel efficiency
•At least 6’ bed length (planning to sleep in with a camper shell)
•Reliability and low cost to repair
•Off road capability. Don’t need anything too crazy but I’d like to be comfortable on remote dirt roads and occasional snow trips. Friends are telling me to definitely get 4x4 but I’m not totally convinced.
Things I don’t care about:
•Tech features. Just want something that drives and I can replace an old radio myself if it doesn’t have BT.
•Aesthetics. Not trying to impress anyone with a sick rig and I know I will be scratching and dinging the hell out of it myself.
•Heavy duty towing. I will occasionally tow a small trailer (<2k lbs) but all of the trucks I’m looking at should do this no problem.
Right now I’m looking at:
•Toyota Tacoma: most reliable and legendary but used ones seem overpriced and I’ve heard they’re not very comfortable.
•Ford F-150: Specifically looking at post 2015 ecoboost V6s as they have good mpg and still a lot of hp.
•Ford ranger: Since I don’t think I necessarily need the full size 150 and they seem to be reliable and powerful.
•Nissan Frontier: the cheapest option but potentially the least reliable? I’d be happy to save the $$$ as long as I don’t end up having to pay it later in repairs. Also less availability around me.
Would appreciate any input and advice on these trucks, what years or mileages to avoid, and any other options you think I should seriously consider. Thanks!
