so, why would i feel the need to add eristic contradictions and digressive solutions to marxist dialectics? simple. its because marx didn't have a method for understanding destructive contradictions or what mao would call antagonistic contradiction, and mao didn't have a consistent theory for what made a contradiction antagonistic or not and how that could change over time. this may sound like navel gazing but it is literally not because if you're working with a flawed theory how are you going to accurately asses the problem and arrive at the correct solution reliably?
a dialectic implies coming together to solve opposing ideas or views. when he talked about the bourgeoisie being destroyed he wasn't talking about literally lining them all up and shooting them. nor did he think the bourgeoisie could or would metaphorically or otherwise line all the proletariat up and shoot them. this is how he thought.

"If necessary I will follow this porcupine to the top of the tree." But every time that the girl climbed up, the porcupine kept ahead of her. It was recommended me and husband got back to a physical relationship but used birth control, we were told they needed time to assess any damage and didn't recommend getting pregnant again yet. I also couldn't go on hormonal birth control immediately. It was difficult for us but we did build up our physical relationship again, we used condoms and cycle tracked as birth control.
8 weeks after the miscarriage, I went in for a check up with my doctor, they ran a pregnancy test and it was positive. For 3 days me and my husband discussed our options and decided to keep the pregnancy, knowing the risks. It was a high risk pregnancy that had more than one scare, I managed to get to labour and delivery, during which I haemorrgaed and nearly died again, as did the baby. Thankfully we both made it through and i have a 2 year old daughter I wouldn't change for the world.
When the checked up on me after the pregnancy they told me another pregnancy now would likely kill me, roughly 50% chance of a life threatening miscarriage in the first trimester that unless I happened to be in the hospital at the time they wouldnt be able to stop the bleeding in time to save me, roughly 50% chance of labour killing me if i made I that far. Overall a 75% chance of not making it through another pregnancy. I went on the pill as soon as I was able, it took a long time but me and my husband built up a physical relationship again, we also use condoms and cycle tracking along with the pill, the chances of me getting pregnant again are incredibly small, we ensure we every form of birth control properly.
And yet, I became pregnant again. I have only 25% chance of surviving this and watching my daughter grow up. It could kill me any day if I miscarry, which there is 50% chance of happening.
Some questions: 1. Is 75% chance of death high enough for me to be able to make the choice to get an abortion, right now, even though I am not actively having my life threatened this moment? If yes A) what percentage is a low enough risk of death to be allowed to make that call? And why that number in particular? If no B) if a pregnant person is not capable of making this decision for themselves, can a doctor make the best medical decision for them and force them to accept the treatment they choose, be that medication, monitoring or an abortion against their will?

So yesterday I had a delivery that states in the delivery note that asked can I bring up to their apartment and bring the groceries inside because I’m guessing he’s disabled? Or bedridden? My thing is, as a black female doing Instacart by themselves and to enter someone’s apartment is a big no-no. Not to mention I live in Buffalo, NY, it isn’t the safest city, I don’t even leave my car running sometimes during deliveries. Sometimes I barely like bringing groceries to unlit back doors but I still do it and I don’t shop past a certain time because I don’t like delivering in the dark. I’ve heard TOO many things happening to delivery drivers. So long story short, IC calls me to basically sayng I didn’t do the delivery correctly and the customer is MAD because I didn’t go into their apartment? Is that really my job? Does IC really think that’s safe and does IC’s rules say I gotta do that? I think it’s completely unfair because of course he gave me a 1 star rating but like, if you can’t get out of bed shouldn’t you have some sort of nurse or personal aid come help? Why do I have to put myself in an uncomfortable situation for a $10 order? ($3 tip) Or just idk. The whole situation makes me angry because if I feel uncomfortable doing something as going into your apartment I feel like I have a say so in my own safety. I did my duties and that was bring them to your door. Idk am I wrong for this? And side note, I have gone into people apartments before in the past but they usually greet me and most of the time are just old and weak and need help bringing groceries in but as far as like the front door? But for me to go INSIDE? I don’t think that’s fair.

So before y’all say I’m a bad kid First, I’ll let you know the story,. I’m not a good story teller I just want to release it quickly deep inside my chest.
So ever since nong bata ako dad and mom already left to work outside the country. When I grew up I understood that our family really needs money to keep the family going and to make us their children graduate. Alternatively they took grandpa and step grandma as our guardian (from my father’s side). Fast forward to what actually happened in april, I was having a fever on and off that lasted for almost 2 weeks and on the third day dad and I got into an argument like he was mad that I am not taking house responsibility e that time nilalagnat ako and whenever I get contact with air or cold things like water I get chills. He we literally nagging exposing my little brother to his behavior in which later on he would adapt that as he’s just a 6 year old boy. Then he got mad making him go upstairs in my room where I’m resting my body then he’s like using an aggressive tone and acting like he’s dominating the argument like one snap he will punch me. But I wasn’t scared to that so i kept on saying what’s my point the problem with me is nagfreeze response ako nongsinakal niya ako twice I didn’t knew if I will punch him na ba or not yet. He was the one who initiated the conversation with aggressiveness I never acted like i was about to punch him it was so traumatizing that when i called my little brother to run he begged dad to stop. But he wasn’t moving on top of me after choking me the first time so I said “get off of me! You’re not right to do that! Get off” In tagalog. Pero instead of him trying to fix it up with me, you know what he did to me? He choked me again for the second time then he stopped then I ran to the barangay to get some help eventually I filed a blotter against him. Then again ran to the hospital to get some strange ngersevidences so I have record of where the bruises are and pictures from the hospital. Sadly whenever a staff aske what will I do for the evidences they would laugh if I say I want my father to go in jail I have no clue why they were laughing. After long hours of long lines in the hospital I went straight to my other lola to let her know I want dad out of the house and transfer the name to me (this is me desperately asking for help from them). I also called father’s dad for help but all he said when heard me wanting to put dad in jail was “eh gago ka pala e”. They’re still mad about me filing dad for a blotter in barangay but despite them knowing what dad did to me they still teamed up with him,. Also I won the case.
Then 1 month passed dad and I got into an argument again this happened kanina when I was cooking. So ever since nong bata ako dad and mom already left to work outside the country. When I grew up I understood that our family really needs money to keep the family going and to make us their children graduate. Alternatively they took grandpa and step grandma as our guardian (from my father’s side). Fast forward to what actually happened in april, I was having a fever on and off that lasted for almost 2 weeks and on the third day dad and I got into an argument like he was mad that I am not taking house responsibility e that time nilalagnat ako and whenever I get contact with air or cold things like water I get chills. He we literally nagging exposing my little brother to his behavior in which later on he would adapt that as he’s just a 6 year old boy. Then he got mad making him go upstairs in my room where I’m resting my body then he’s like using an aggressive tone and acting like he’s dominating the argument like one snap he will punch me. But I wasn’t scared to that so i kept on saying what’s my point the problem with me is nagfreeze response ako nongsinakal niya ako twice I didn’t knew if I will punch him na ba or not yet. He was the one who initiated the conversation with aggressiveness I never acted like i was about to punch him it was so traumatizing that when i called my little brother to run he begged dad to stop. But he wasn’t moving on top of me after choking me the first time so I said “get off of me! You’re not right to do that! Get off” In tagalog. Pero instead of him trying to fix it up with me, you know what he did to me? He choked me again for the second time then he stopped then I ran to the barangay to get some help eventually I filed a blotter against him. Then again ran to the hospital to get some strange ngersevidences so I have record of where the bruises are and pictures from the hospital. Sadly whenever a staff aske what will I do for the evidences they would laugh if I say I want my father to go in jail I have no clue why they were laughing. After long hours of long lines in the hospital I went straight to my other lola to let her know I want dad out of the house and transfer the name to me (this is me desperately asking for help from them). I also called father’s dad for help but all he said when heard me wanting to put dad in jail was “eh gago ka pala e”. They’re still mad about me filing dad for a blotter in barangay but despite them knowing what dad did to me they still teamed up with him,. Also I won the case.

I was once again awoken by those god forsaken voices and lay in my bed cursing my life. I could hear my father moving around in the other room, and could tell that he had already been drinking.
I flinched as his footsteps approached my door but breathed a sigh of relief as he walked past. I reached up to my gently caress my neck while thinking of all of the times he has strangled me until I lost consciousness.
I gaze out my window at what many people would have called a picturesque town, but I know that it and all of it's inhabitants are cursed.
Every single one of us hasn't aged a day in almost forty years, and there doesn't seem to be anyway to end this.
I notice my neighbour walking around outside in his garden. His mind had broken years ago and if you try and speak to him, all he says is nonsensical sentences. His two sons just sit in the garden staring off into nothingness whilst praying for death.
I make my way downstairs for breakfast and feel a glimmer of sadness as I see my mother sitting there. She spends her entire time trying to keep us happy, but I know she hates our father but is too afraid to leave him.
My father downs another beer while proudly announcing that he lost his job again. I try my best not to have any reaction in fear of angering him. My mother just smiles and tells him that it is fine.
I think back on all of the horrible deeds my father has committed and cannot help but wish he was dead. I know for a fact that he bullied a coworker so relentlessly that the poor man ended up killing himself. Yet he suffered no repercussions and people ended up laughing about it afterwards.
My sister drags me from the table and tells me she needs to talk to me about something. I can feel my father's gaze on the back of my neck as we make our way to her bedroom.
I sit there with my mouth hanging open as my sister starts rambling on about us all being dead. I initially think she is crazy but the more I listen, the more it makes sense.
I once again reach for my neck and know in my heart, that he took it too far one time and strangled me to death.
She pointed out that our youngest sister was probably a stillbirth as that is why there isn't a single picture of her in our house.
She was fighting back tears as she admitted taking her own life, as depression had overwhelmed her due to how much our parents expected of her.
I held her against me trying to comfort her as her sobbing seemed never-ending. She finally moved back from my grip and told me she had to show me something.
She grabbed something out of a press and I barely had time to react as she plunged a knife into my chest. I stumbled to the floor as she told me that everything was going to be okay as death overcame me.
My eyes shot open and I slowly pushed myself to my feet. I stood there transfixed gazing around at the ruined wastelands.
It took me a few seconds to realise this was the ruined remains of our hometown. I wandered around choking on the putrid air whilst trying not to get close to the mutilated remains that lay scattered everywhere.
I was beginning to get lightheaded due to all of the radiation that was stemming from the nearby power plant. I gazed over at the noxious gases pouring out of a giant hole in the side of the building and knew my father was responsible.
My legs gave way beneath me and I slumped to the floor. I could feel blood oozing out of every orifice as I gently lay my head down and lost consciousness.
I awoke once again in my bed with my sister sitting there squeezing my hand. I kissed her on the cheek as I finally understood why we were doomed.
My eyes were drawn to the blue sky as those screaming voices once again called out "The Simpsons", and knowing there was no escape from our hellish life.

Why are Japanese girls so hard to talk to? I'm polite. Each time I approach one, I say "konichiwa". I always ask them about their favorite anime before talking about my waifu. They're usually really shy (which is cute imo) but I hate that I have to be the one to constantly engage in conversations with them, and how they usually get desinterested because I'm a white guy. Yes, I get that it's awkward because of things like Pearl Harbor, but I don't hold it against them. They weren't in Unit 731, so why judge them for it? Why can't the himes just realize that I respect Japanese culture and that I really want to be part of it. I'm willing to marry a Japanese woman, adopt Japanese children and even live in Japan for the rest of my life. Hell, I'm even learning the language by watching undubbed anime. Plus, I cook a mean bowl of rice (for those that don't know, Japanese eat a lot of rice, I do too my Mom says that I act like a Japanese person because of all the rice I eat and the anime I watch)

So I’ve been playing Powerwash simulator on two different PCs. Same account.
Cloud save was working perfectly between the two until this evening where both PCs had no game progress. I went through a load of things I found online loads of reinstalling and uninstalling and didn’t work. I started my progress again and when I turned the game off for the night I launched it again to check if it saved right. And it rolled me back a few missions. And I have absolutely no idea why.
Any ideas? Is my save recoverable? And why isn’t this working even locally?

I've adopted a second cat one month after adopting first. First is now 12mo female, the second one is 10 mo male.
They've had a slow introduction and are now allowed together during the day when we're home.
They mostly rough play (resident cat will chase down the male cat from the cat tree or couch, but there is no hissing etc).
The thing is, my resident cat always, upon them meeting for the forst time in the day, wants to groom him. But when she starts to, he always grabs, pinches her by the neck and she starts launching herself at him (attacking him - playfully? Again, no vocalisations).....
Why does he not allow her to groom him? Does he simply not like her as much and doesn't accept her?
I think they'd get allong better if he allowed her.. Is it possible he accepts her over time?

Hello travelers !
GF and I are loving the game, going through it quite slowly but reaching a point where we want to get some breakthrough skills and make a real build.
Here's my plan (for early-mid game at least, not counting Weapon Master skills yet) :
I want to use shields (I know, they're not the best, but whatever) and mace (for impact), using mainly "counters" skills so I can take the aggro, turtle, countereact, and help with impact stuff. Basically being a "classic" tank, not really using magic. Breakthroughs : Warrior Monk (already taken for Master of Motion and Counterstrike), Mercenary (for stamina management, Shield Infusion, heavy armor stuff), Cabal Hermit (for Shamanic Resonance to boost Discipline and Infuse Wind). Skill slots : Brace, Counterstrike, Shield Infusion, Mace Infusion, Infuse Wind, Kick or Sweep Kick, Shield Charge, Enrage. (Maybe switch Infuse Wind for Mana Ward if I didn't activate the totem in the area yet).
The GF has been enjoying using bows while I'm tanking, and of course have the option for melee as well, usually with a polearm (her build would have options to switch to full-melee if she gets bored of bows). She's not a "super-gamer" or anything, so I want to keep the build not too complicated, using lots of passive skills (we still went through DS3 and Elden Ring together, so she's not useless either :D). Breakthroughs : Wild Hunter (obviously for bow skills and option to use Feral Strike, breakthrough point already spent), Warrior Monk (for extra stamina and Master of Motion, or should she go for Perfect Strike ? Option for another melee skill as well), Cabal Hermit (for Shamanic Resonance to boost Discipline and option to use Infuse Wind). Skill slots : For sure Evasion Shot, Sniper Shot, Piercing Shot, Moon Swipe. Less sure : Focus (she's not comfortable using Brace, could be used from the menu), Enrage, Kick Optional : Wind Infuse, Perfect Strike, Flash Onslaught (would lose Discipline but she's not comfortable using Counterstrike), maybe 2 slots taken for weapon switching, even if she can manage doing it in the inventory, maybe some traps.
So far we both took one point in mana just to have options. What do you think of my plan/builds ?

2023.06.02 11:30 BallKey7607 Is Buddhism a good method for discovering the self?
I don't know a great deal about Buddhism so I'm both asking to be corrected on my assumptions about what it is and given extra information on these aswell as inviting discussion on my points if my assumptions are correct.
Bhudism seems to be the only commonly known method of practice for attaining enlightenement. I do think it is better than the major religions in that it doesn't give you a set of beliefs or God to believe in but simply asks you to be silent. Beliefs right or wrong just get in the way so its definitely got the right idea here.
My questions with it are why doesn't it promote any kind of self inquiry? As far as I am aware it only teaches subject object based meditation? Surely there should be some variation on the questions "who am I?" or "what is aware of my experience?"? It seems like there is no attempt to investigate the subject of experience?
Also that it doesn't seem to have enough of a self destruct system in place once "Buddhism" is no longer needed. It can obviously serve a purpose but surely there becomes a point where you drop being a Buddhist as what you are and simply abide in the self. Thich Nhat Hanh was an example of someone who appeared to have great spiritual maturity but was somewhat limited by Buddhism. In an interview I watched between him and Ram Dass I felt that Ram Dass was making very expansive comments and asking wide open questions about the nature of consciousness and life but Thich Nhat Hanh was giving responses which were limited to Buddhism. It seems that Buddhism should have something built in which encourages those who get to the level of Thich Nhat Hanh to trancend even Buddhism and stop limiting themselves to being "a monk".
Adyashanti did appear to have done this but I don't know to what extent he was committed to Buddhism in the first place or if he was just using the teachings.

Bhudism seems to be the only commonly known method of practice for attaining enlightenement. I do think it is better than the major religions in that it doesn't give you a set of beliefs or God to believe in but simply asks you to be silent. Beliefs right or wrong just get in the way so its definitely got the right idea here.
My questions with it are why doesn't it promote any kind of self inquiry? As far as I am aware it only teaches subject object based meditation? Surely there should be some variation on the questions "who am I?" or "what is aware of my experience?"? It seems like there is no attempt to investigate the subject of experience?
Also that it doesn't seem to have enough of a self destruct system in place once "Buddhism" is no longer needed. I recently upgraded from an Instinct 2 Solar to an Instinct 2X Tactical. Overall, I love the size and the watch and the Torch is so useful.
I’ve been using the default tactical watch face and I can’t seem to select my alt timezone in any of the complications. Even the 2X specific watch faces, none of them allow the alt timezone already on my watch - only Zulu (tactical specific) and UTC.
I can set the alt timezone on the watch face that also comes default with the 2 Solar.
Is this a bug? Wondering why Garmin won’t allow an alt timezone on their new faces for the 2X?
