2023.06.02 09:47 Ok-Quit-6269 First purchase ever, is this fair?
Went to a Mazda dealer in Washington State and negotiated a Mazda 2023 CX-30 Carbon Edition with black wheel locks and nuts + cargo tray to 29,000 from a MSRP of 31,000. Paid in cash.
Spent 5 hours and the dealer told me it’s almost a thousand less than the invoice price.
How did I do? Is this a fair deal?
Thank you in advance for your feedback.

2023.06.02 09:39 Necessary-Concern-28 Dealer in der Familie
Hi
Offensichtlicher Wegwerf-Account.

2023.06.02 09:36 lastomniverse Can I be compensated for a repair that's being done under warrenty
Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I figured I would try, I have a 22' Hyundai Elantra, just cracked 20k miles. I take care of the car, don't drive erratic and always drive in its "smart" mode (also cause gas is expensive lmao). The other night my check engine light went on 5 minutes from home out of nowhere, I have a odb scanner and tried to see if I could find out what was wrong. It appeared to be an issue with the coolant / temperature sensor (idk much about cars) but I called my Hyundai service dealer the next morning and they said if I kept driving the engine would likely blow on me. They said to not even drive it to their dealership that's 15 min away, so I had to get it towed. I now have no way to get to my job or my classes and am at a loss for what to do, I really need to work, especially this weekend as we were anticipating it being busy and I would've been able to take on extra hours. This is gonna set me back a lot rn, so is there any kind of compensation I can get for this or do I just gotta suck it up and deal with it, any advice is appreciated thank u!

2023.06.02 09:32 Huntdupl Looking for URC Total Control Programming
Backstory: My wife and I purchase our first home three years ago. At the time I was working on restaurant out of state (design work) and hit it off with the AV consultant. Started talking home automation and what would be a good fit for DIY. Took the opportunity to prewire my house during renovation and he was gracious enough to sell me all the hardware at cost as well as offer to do some remote programming. He spent a lot of time helping me coordinate the infrastructure, I spent a lot of time and money doing it but most rewarding was learning and figuring out how this all works. Certainly became a hobby.
Anyway, they’re extremely busy all the time working on million dollar houses. I’ve got 1450 sf…I’ve successfully been able to work out one day of remote programming and a previously couple hours here or there configuring network - I’m two years down the road and they don’t have time to help. Always offering to pay, dropping “how y’all looking, any free time” every couple months, even sent expensive bottle of booze to hopefully keep me front of mind just because…its embarrassing. Im so close, all the backend stuff is configured in Accelerator, I just need the final two ways setup for lights/audio then voice. TVs communicating, but TC user interface needs to be purged of useless menus.
There’s almost no one locally to Louisiana who messes with URC. Are there any remote programming services available to recommendations for companies outside the dealer who sold me the stuff? Anyone come to mind akin to, “oh ____ is a wiz, he could knockout a 1500 sf project in a day”??
I’ve got thousands of dollars invested and seems like we’ll outgrow this house before I ever get to use the system I learned all about (not to mention my time investment and labor).
System overview: MRX-15 Ra2Select lighting - 10 or so dimmers 8 zones Heos 3 Frame TVs Reolink Surveillance Echo voice was the plan 15+25 port poe Araknis UniFi All lives locally on a miniPC
Any advice? Any recommendations for help along the gulf coast? Thank you

2023.06.02 09:32 Suspicious_Meet_1659 Lies, drugs - magnates
| The upper class is the identity that Guo Wengui has always sought, an indispensable part of the revelation revolution, and an important drug to tempt little ants. Whenever a lie is poked badly, he fantasizes about some mysterious events and people who raise his value. Former Chinese alliances, old leaders, special intelligence agencies, mysterious conferences, global anti-CCP coalition organizations, big arms dealers, former heads of state, future high-level officials in American politics. And the little ants also like this set in particular, and are complacent about Guo Wengui's "independent consultant". As for the plot of businessmen interfering in politics, the president's cross-party election of staff officers, and the future leader ignoring the affairs of other countries at critical moments, the little ants ignore all the plots that are contrary to common sense. Guo Wengui's stories of powerful people who only ignore common sense for the effect can indeed make brainless ants who covet vanity lose their minds, but this is also a mirage of self-deception on the road. https://preview.redd.it/ama0b4v55k3b1.jpg?width=2599&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c50cef2d71685ad0c3786a22c23a983625a2176a submitted by Suspicious_Meet_1659 to u/Suspicious_Meet_1659 [link] [comments] |
2023.06.02 09:31 AshesFeu Scratch Repair Cost
I accidentally scratched my partner's car when unloading a TV. I didn't lift high enough and ended up scratching the back bumper. I have put a few requests for quotes out but don't know when I'll hear back. Does anyone know approximately how much I can expect to be charged to repair these scratches? Scratches are circled in red, all other marks are just dirt. Vehicle is a 2018 Mazda 3

2023.06.02 08:41 dadcamebackwithcandy [M4F] A Woman Finds her Father (and Regret)
I had an idea for a wholesome, SFW, highly amusing RP where your OC finds her father at long last, and discovers exactly why mom never talked about him.
Specifically, he’s a sarcastic (he thinks he’s funny, others may disagree) majorly depressed pawnshop owner who dresses like he shops at the graveyards of the rich and famous. He also looks like a drug dealer, though that’s an unfair assessment as he hasn’t sold any in at least two years. But, you know, he’s trying to be a better human, and actually discovering he has a daughter would provide motivation his own survival instincts never have.
Since the focus is on character development, the themes or setting we explore can vary, from modern slice-of-life to adventure fantasy. The idea though is they need each other and they’re willing to work on themselves so they come out as better people and a better family.
I write third person via Discord, anywhere between several paragraphs to set a scene and a few sentences for dialogue, but the point is for us to have fun with this and not stress about specifics, I think. I work nights, but my job provides downtime so regular posting in the evening or morning won’t be a problem. If you can post at least a few times a week, that would be lovely.
A writing sample of my character is below, so you have some idea of what you’re getting into. If you’re interested, let me know!
-Lex
An old French song played from a small room behind the counter of the pawn shop. Lysias sang along with some slight skill, turning an old violin over in his hands. The late sunlight that filtered in caught on the pits and chips of worn lacquer like they were being graded by one of his old professors, highlighting the imperfections with supposed warmth that dimmed the excellence of the work, nevertheless. It was a fine violin, too: one of the few brought in that was actually worth fixing. The varnish would need to be stripped before he could do anything, of course, like rehydrating the wood or sealing it—a tedious process by anyone’s standard but his. After all, ruination rested within his every breath, just a heavy sigh away.
The Cuss walked with him. Lived with him. Breathed with him.
Ate at him. Stole from him. Marginalized. Vilified. Consoled. Condemned.
It lifted his spirits and diminished his joys, adding and subtracting the human experience until the sum of his life was zero; no highs, no lows, just a meaningless medium. The Cuss was parasite and partner both. He almost hated it when he had the energy to hate something.
Lysias raised a finger, a mote of darkness erasing a spot in the air above it. As small as the tear was, he could hear the music bending, the sounds of the busy street outside distorted by its presence, sounding like water sloshing in his ear. The lacquer of the violin was gone in a blink, and the Cuss was put away again, as much as some distant, broken part of him wanted to watch as it ran loose in the streets.
Those visions always came. He knew what it wanted, but eff what it wanted—it had more than enough of him as it was.
Turning for the sanding block, he saw the ad for New York Healing Institute he pulled from his mailbox. A few stand-out words were read over his scarlet-lensed glasses. “It’s never too late to learn!” He had thoughts about that. “NYHI has new scholarships and grants for the aspiring healer! Find us on the web at-“
It was ridiculous.
Besides, no one would have an almost-forty-year old, self-taught, null-aspected mage anyway. Just being around other casters as they spoke or chanted or sang or drew or painted their magic was enough to unravel it sometimes, and that was without trying. If a caster actually came at him, it wasn’t even a fight; he didn’t have to say a word to cuss out their pretty sparks and flames, turning their power and years of study into less than a fizzled-out bottle rocket.
As long as they were within a few feet of him, of course.
And they weren’t a mind mage.
Or an illusionist.
…Fine maybe a few others, but generally, he could take care of himself.
Lowering the sanding block to his work, the abrasive scoured away the bare finish of the violin, leaving a brighter, healthier wood waiting just beneath. Soon, it would be ready to accept new polish and a new role. In fact, there was so little preparation left that it hardly took any effort at all to remove the last of the stains and give it a fresh start.
Green eyes flicked again to the article, to the propaganda and its ludicrous optimism.
It was ridiculous.
But still.
Still, he wondered if there were pretty sparks or fairy lights that could restore to him what the dark had devoured. To put the lacquer back. To seal his surface so he might weather life without the stains of every tear warping him, cracking the grain, giving unnatural life to maladies that grew into ruin and rot.
Lysias was wallowing of a fine state of melodrama when the door jingled. Yet another customer here to rudely interrupt his pity party. He was just about list every woman that had ever shot him down, too.
With a sigh, he pushed up his glasses and stepped out from the back in a black tee and jeans, the latter slightly more torn than the former. Neither went with his super-sexy $1,200 caiman cowboy boots, but that’s what the matching belt was for. The tarnished silver buckle though? With the giant “L” in 18k gold? That was just for him, and he offered no apologies or for it—fashion sense be damned.
He saw intruder—or customer, whatever—from the corner of his eye, focusing instead on straightening the bracelets in the display case before him, both magical and mundane. “Weeeeelcome to Arcane Pawn & Repair,” he drawled, monotone, “where we REpair, REstore, and REgret every decision that brought us here. What do you want?”

2023.06.02 08:17 Extension-Border-345 2002 shitmobile on its last leg
My husband’s 2002 Honda civic broke down (again) today and we got it towed to the shop. i own a 2014 mazda in great shape so we have that. we’re both full time students who drive a lot, usually in my car for obvious reasons. husband only uses his own car to get to work. now we’re afraid the shitbucket is about to be done for.
i told him we could start looking for options now. theres several 1-2k cars on FB but really how do we know they won’t end up at the shop every other month? is there any way to get a cheap car without screwing ourselves over w crazy maintenance? we’re just now both getting jobs with more hours so we’ll be able to save a bit in the next years till he graduates, so hopefully our situation will be better in a month or so.
sorry for the wordy post but tldr: is FB/other listing sites the way to go or should we go to an auto dealer and how do we balance saving money with not getting another shitwheels?

2023.06.02 08:01 Extenlaz Dealership voided contract but won't return money pt 2
Update from my last post.
https://www.reddit.com/askcarsales/comments/13swlq5/i_returned_a_vehicle_and_the_dealer_wont_refund_me/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button After involving my attorney the dealership has offered to return the truck for the full purchase price of $51,500 but they won't refund my $3090 in state sales tax.
They claim that Pennsylvania sales tax can't be refunded even though the contract was voided. Their solution was to offer me a "$3090 tax credit" if I traded the truck into another dealership and they would cover the difference in value up to $51,500.
I took this offer to 2 dealerships and they refused the truck as part of a trade because it's only worth $29,800 with all the body damage and mechanical issues. And frankly they think this whole ordeal is bullshit and don't want involved.
The sales tax was financed, even though I paid $9k cash. I think this is why they are refusing to refund it. I didn't know it was being added into the finances, when I told them I had cash for the taxes and my own license plate I was informed they "already added it in" without asking.
My questions are: how do I get my sales tax back, or is this "tax credit" even a real thing? It sounds like another misleading attempt, and both Chevrolet dealerships agreed that I should have just been given the full $54,590 back.
Note I "purchased" the truck on May 11th, returned it May 12th and it's currently June 2nd and still no refund in hand. US sale, Pennsylvania.
I also haven't informed my attorney of the sales tax issue yet since this happened at 6pm.
