Hello I'm here seeking advice about my situation. My mom died about 3 months ago and I've never had a job in my life. I did get my social security card and a new ID. I've went to a temp agency and it's been a little over a month and they still have nothing for me.
A pastor at a church near me has been helping me the last month and a half. The church is in walking distance from where I am.
A couple of days ago my roommates boyfriend hit her and I called the police, nothing happened to him and he's been taunting me since. He's a drug addict and has an unregistered gun. I don't feel safe where I'm at and I'm running out of options.
The pastor at church said that they might get me into teen challenge. Looking into though I really don't know if it's something I want to do. Also it's not a guarantee. I don't know if I should go into a homeless shelter but the one in my area is far away and I don't have a car or bike.
Family members that I called said they can't do anything for me. Maybe if I beg but I don't know.
I'm lost and I really don't know what to do.
What are my options? Teen challenge, homeless shelter or living ok the streets.
I feel so defeated. Any advice is welcome.

24(F) Eldest daughter. I think I achieved it way too early, it was exciting at first and was a huge goal for me after I graduated college. Started working my ass off for 2 years during quarantine as a freelance artist and I managed to make at least 100k per month. I was pretty happy seeing 6 digits in my account all the time. Parents were proud too that I at least was able to be of huge help to them.
Eventually shit changed, as I was enjoying my spendings, those (spendings) were only temporary feelings of joy too. I got bored really quick. Responsibilities and expectations started to pile up on me, Im expected to be this person among my family to give "blessings" to my aunts family every now and then. I didnt really mind it at first as I was pretty happy to spend some time with them too. Just started feeling like crap when the financial expectations became a common topic in dinner to bring up. Kesyo bili daw ako bahay na ganto, or car na ganto, or treat them to a vacation.
Those "spark" people feel when setting up goals to work hard dissappeared. I realized even as excited people are with getting their own car and house, wont they be bored of that too? Isnt this just more bills? This reasoning applied to every plan I had that I thought would be such a mindblowing goal.
Now all I see is just me working to deal with even more responsibilities. My gaining weight + declining health, shit growing anxiety and insecurities wasnt helping me too. I got burnt out, asked for some assistance from parents that I take a break for a few months. Which I did, but the passion wasnt as strong after the break but I was still at least making 6 figs, those easily went away too to help out my parents. This energy to grind barely lasted for half a year.
So I took a break, again (unintentionally for a while) to improve my health plus making false bs promise to myself and people that Ill get back on track..... eventually. Which I knew I could since I already had the knowledge and skill to market myself around clients. I managed to improve my health and mental health by working out more, biking, and socializing too. I felt much better so I thought im okay enough to start working again.
Or so I thought, I still wasnt okay. My thoughts alone on realizing adult responsibilities were suffocating me a lot. The heavy burden Id have to bear in the future, my family and on myself.
Vented my issues to some of my friends. They had a hard time believing and understanding how Im not motivated even more by achieving more things and just making my life even better overall. Most of their solution is to move out. I will never understand how easy it is for some people to cut off connections or move away from their safe place. Its not like I hate my family, I feel pretty secured that Im at least not alone. Think moving out and living alone would end up with me being overwhelmed by my thoughts and would be dangling on the ceiling.
I tried seeking theraphy, this was at the time I was working on myself. Im pretty aware with most of my issues, probably too aware. Im aware things can kindle me joy but I also know its only temporarily. So that thought kills the whole excitement.
Every now and then Id get really envious of people or my friends telling stories about their vacation travels pushing me to do it too para I can make memories. Im really really jealous about how they still manage to have that spark or drive within them. It just wouldnt hit the same way with me anymore. Idk how to make life worth living.
Id wake up only to cry cuz of anxiousness every now and then on why I cant cause a spark to be driven and motivated again. "There are ppl starving out there and would kill to be in my place rn wtf am I doing", is what I keep thinking to cope.
I thought about dating around, at least make life interesting with ppl. But a relationship takes some responsibility and work too. Kaya ayun, wala gana. Di din ako madali mafall.
Kaya eto ako ngayon, back to present, broke and depressed asf since wala gana. What matters is that Im still trying even if its barely trying. Venting nalang sa reddit hoping someone might understand. If not, oh well nalang at least im letting off some steam.

Any tips on how to make a great first impression with no other prior experience other than uni? (I've never worked in an office before even).

Hello.
I am 25. I have been on depression and bipolar medication since January of 2019.
I graduated with a Masters in December. I have had major depressive episodes since I was 15. I have been at the receiving end of a lot of emotional trauma from my parents and siblings. I believe most of it was done unknowingly, I am still very close to them.
The issue is that they know about my medication and pretend like nothing has happened. I have a bunch of really good friends but I rarely talk to them about deeper things. Since my childhood, my parents have been keen on keeping things to us and not discussing much.
I cant talk to anyone about the good things that have happened such as buying my house, car etc. because my parents hold public offices and it could give off impression of illicit money or wrong doing. I cant talk to anyone about the bad things that have happened such as my depression, my attempts at offing myself, my anxiety etc. because my parents think I am maligning their name. I have brought it on to myself and I should be the only one responsible for it.
While I was doing my bachelors, I had the very frequent depressive episodes. I would not attend classes and lie about it to my parents. They have mad influence, they found out about it. I broke their trust and still havent recovered from it. Till date, they dont trust me with anything I say. It kills me on the inside. I dont drink, smoke, do drugs. All my teachers/professors before my bachelors and after my bachelors have said great things about me. Only the professors I met during my most depressive period have said poor things about me.
Due to covid, I moved back with my parents. I took care of their needs, left my job. I have had to be the emotional support of my parents, grandmother, and my siblings. Now, the market is so bad and I have gained a reputation of leaving jobs in short ternures, all this is making it too difficult to get a job.
Since I was 15, I have been stressed out over one thing or the other. The goal of my life has always been to see my parents happy and not stressed about things. My parents have overly reacted in a situations and made mountain out of a molehill in my teen years. They have treated edge cases as if they occur everyday. They would stress me out over things that have very less probability of actually happening. My parents latch on to negative stuff and dont even acknowledge the positive stuff. Never have I felt peace. I get anxiety if I am not studying/doing something productive in every waking minute. I havent taken a vacation in years, last one was when I was in highschool.
I havent been able to talk with anyone about this openly. I cant keep a meal down. Blood pressure so high that I start vomiting if I eat anything. Blood sugar out of control because of stress. Cortisol has gone through the roof. I cant sleep. Even with the medication, I wake up in the middle of the night and cant fall back asleep. I have no social life, no personal life. Due to the long duration and high dosage of medication, I cant remember most things from the last 5-6 years. I have no long term memory. I have forgotten most of what I had learnt at University.
At this point, I am a 25 year old, with no job, no health, no meaningful relationships, and no purpose in life. I have had enough of this suffering. I dont think I can take any more.

The main reason why I failed to make any friends here within the past four years was my lack of social skills. In high school, I was a slow learner, so I needed every waking seconds studying in high school in order to get good grades. I never had time to socialize or talk to others.
This continued into college even though everyone told me college was easier than high school. I still could never figured out how to study efficiently. I tried using office hours and tutoring, but that didn't help me to actually learn more quickly.

I [M28] got broken up with by my girlfriend [F24] of almost 4 years a few weeks ago. I loved her from the bottom of my heart and genuinely thought I’d marry that woman. And I thought she felt the same, because she always made me feel very loved. We had so many big plans for our future. She broke up with me because she “lost feelings”.
For context: We’ve been together for almost 4 years. We lived in the same location almost 3 year. We actually lived together for roughly 2 years. Our relationship has always been very supportive, loving, caring, healthy. We were best friends. We loved each other to bits. We were very invested in each others’ happiness. We were an absolute team. We basically never argued, and if so, we just discussed things calmly. We were very physical/touchy/cuddly with each other. Sex was mostly good and frequent, although we had some differences in preferences which caused some friction. I brought that up (after ~1.5 years of being together) and we somewhat made a compromise, but she said later on she felt pressured a bit after I brought it up. I feel bad about it now. The longer we were together the more I realised that our relationship as a whole is so much more important to me than that sexual preference. We’ve been aware that something didn’t completely “click” in our sex for the last ~2 years (first 1.5 years were mostly good). It changed a bit in waves, we had better times and worse ones with that. We always did it frequently, but at times it could get monotonous.
Anyways, to the breakup backstory: Last year was a bit rough for both of us. She had a gap year job she didn't like and I was struggling with my PhD. And we were living in country that doesn't fit us. In retrospect we were both low-key burnt out / depressed I think. Coming out of Covid winter lockdown we also travelled a bit to see friends/family and then for 2 months straight we had visitors pretty much every week. So it all was just a bit much and didn't leave time for us. We didn't go on many dates and were just getting exhausted - which also affected our relationship and sex negatively. But again, no fights, all supportive, all loving between us, planning the future, and so on. We also had a very beautiful 2-week summer holiday.
Then in September she moved countries (5-6h door to door travel time) for her PhD so we started long distance. We had a fixed end date (end of 2023), so a bit more than a year. LDR is hard but we saw each other every 2nd weekend for 2-4 days. Our visits very always very nice and we were always sad when the other had to leave. When separated, we video called every day.
At the end of November she initiated a talk. She said she struggles with LDR. When we're separated, she feels the connection is weakening. When we're together it's all good but then after 2 days she worries again and it's weakening. She's very busy, which makes it harder because she then feels very distant to us. She also realised that we were quite co-dependent before she moved (We didn't have much of a social circle. I think it's Covid and our exhaustion, but I agree we could have done better.) and that the sex hasn't been very good for her for a while now. She said that after the big 1-month Xmas trip to see her family at the other side of the planet we have to think about what's best for us, also as individuals. She also said that this was just a chat and probably in 6 months we are stronger than ever. We agreed that we need to talk more openly.

We went to a wedding and discussed what we liked and what we'd do different in our wedding. We figured out a great long-term plan for our future (to move back to the country her family lives in). To me that trip indicated that our struggles were due to the exhaustion during that year and long distance. Lot's of couple-y photos, family photos and just all around a great time.
End of January, 1.5 weeks after coming back from the trip, I visited her. She started a conversation about how I think about open relationships. It felt to me like testing the waters and we just talked about how we feel about it in general. And value-wise we were on the same page. But it wasn't like "I want to open up things now". It was more like "let's look into it, and think about it" and in line with us wanting to communicate more openly. We both felt very much in love that weekend and said things like "we're gonna stay together forever", "we are each other's person", "not everyone finds what we have", "I feel such strong love for you right now. - Me too.". And had fun in bed as well.
I felt very happy and strong about us. Things were going uphill I felt. She also said she thought that weekend was a good weekend for us. We also planned to make some positive changes to LDR, like longer visits and more time together.
Breakup and immediately before: 2 weeks later she visits me. The day she arrives she texts me she wants to discuss opening up our relationship. I was overwhelmed a bit and didn't expect it that quickly. I also haven't had time to think about it. We briefly talked when she arrived and I said I need a bit more time to think about it. But she would like to start soon with it, she said.
The day after she starts crying and tells me she cheated on me that week before the visit (very drunkenly, but still). I was devastated. I always felt so secure in our relationship and 110% trusted her. Always was relaxed about LDR because I "knew" that cheating just wouldn't happen between us. We cried and discussed the entire visit and in the end I decided that I can forgive her. We opened up to each other completely and we made many realisations about the year before and agreed we are gonna work on our relationship and prioritise us more. Make longer visits immediately, date each other more again, spice up things in bed again, and so on. We reassured each other that "we are each others love of our lives", "we gonna stay together forever", and so on. The day before she had to leave we beautifully re-connected (after that shock) with good food, a bottle of wine, romantic music, chatting for hours and great sex.
3 days later she video calls me and says she wants to break up. She lost feelings, our deep connection is not so much there anymore for her. I've been begging for another chance and all the expected stuff for the past few weeks but she seems firm and doesn't want to give me false hope. The weekend after the call she visited me again to discuss things in person. But yeah, she can't pin down any specific reasons. She just lost feelings. It's nothing I did wrong, it's her. It's just a feeling. She feels like she lost her early 20s a bit due to Covid and our committed relationship. She wants some time to explore herself as an individual without me. I am currently a senior here, and during my four years here, I never socialized or made any friends. I never been to any parties. I have no social skills. The reason why this was the case I am a slow learner. In high school, I needed every waking second to do well in classes, and that came at the cost of my socializing and any free time for extracurriculars. I had way less extracurriculars compared to most students here, yet I still somehow got in.
And this problem didn't get any better in college. College is supposed to be easier than the grind in high school, and I picked an easy major. Yet, I still struggled to have free time and needed every second just to stay afloat. I am doing much worse compared to all of my peers here, even with tutoring and office hours.
It really feels like I don't have the raw intelligence and talent to actually do well in college and properly learn the material as well as having a rich social life. I only got this far through brute force and bullshitting.

My CRA (Canadian Revenue) account was locked for a year after I forgot all my security question answers...or password? Don't remember. My mail was going to an old address and presumably straight into the garbage. My 2021 tax payment didn't go through and was collecting interest for the past year.
Went to the tax office and I found I owed a couple grand between tax debt and EI which I don't recall ever using. Thankfully the tax guy did some sleuthing and found I never filed for 2020, although I could swear I mailed it in. I got just enough refunded to pay off the debt.
To put it lightly, I'm on the verge of a meltdown from the last few weeks. On a lighter note John Wick 4 comes out this weekend (advanced tickets of course) and I see my new doctor soon. How are you all doing?
Oh yeah, and do your taxes, guys. Don't be like me.
