Need advice for 10 days 2 Person Tokyo/Nearby City Trip on October
2023.03.23 09:20 freerealestateitis Need advice for 10 days 2 Person Tokyo/Nearby City Trip on October
Hello good people of
JapanTravel !
I'm planning a 10 days trip with my wife to Japan. Our plan is mainly to spend 3 days in Tokyo, 3 days on a ryokan/AirBnB on nearby city, and then back to Tokyo on our last 4 days.
We are still on our first step of creating itinerary, although we are on limited budget (around 26000 USD). We will arrived on 11 PM, 10th October and will leave on 21st.
Currently I'm still creating accomodation (Mainly, train pass, mobile data, etc) for our trip and have some questions.
- Which railway pass should I purchase ? Since I won't leave Tokyo except for a brief trip to a nearby city (TBC), I don't think I will need JR Pass. But I will definitely need a means of transportation around Tokyo (Between wards, and also we're thinking about Chiba)
- Is there any suggestion for nearby city that has communal onsen/Ryokan that is affordable ? Or suggested countryside ? We're not looking for a view of Mt Fuji.
- My wife works in art gallery and has lots of interests in contemporary arts, while I'm interested in local music store. Do you guys have any suggestion for a place for us to visit ?
Thank you for any suggestions !

2023.03.23 09:00 ciafeli DD - Everyone should open an account at First Republic Bank
Why the share price fell from 120 to 14 is because people left the bank quickly in a short period of time. (The bank probably survives anyway), but it was because of a digital bank run that the crisis started.
Then it hit me. We can do the same in the other direction. If everyone becomes a customer at First Republic and deposits a small amount, eg 100 usd. Then the bank will be valued at 120-150 again. 10 times higher share price than today.
- Buy shares in First Republic.
- Become a customer and open an account with First Republic.
I haven't calculated how many we need to be, but if it's a few thousand who become customers, it will affect the outcome of the share price. We could save the bank in just a few days (and meanwhile earn x10).

2023.03.23 08:54 GrapplerTodd Helping Children Develop Healthy Sleep Habits GrapplerTodd Indian-made Wooden Toys
| Developing healthy sleep habits is crucial for children's physical and mental development. Sleep deprivation can lead to behavioural problems, difficulty concentrating, and impaired cognitive function. Here are some strategies parents can use to help their children develop healthy sleep habits. Establishing a consistent bedtime routine can help children prepare for sleep. The routine can include activities such as a warm bath, reading a story, or listening to calming music. Limiting screen time before bedtime can also improve sleep. The blue light emitted from electronic devices can disrupt sleep by suppressing melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep. Ensure that your child is getting enough physical activity during the day. Regular exercise can help children fall asleep easily and improve sleep quality. Creating a comfortable sleep environment is also important. The room should be cool, dark, and quiet. A comfortable mattress and pillows can also improve sleep quality. Lastly, parents should ensure their children get enough sleep by following age-appropriate sleep guidelines. Young children may need up to 14 hours of sleep a day, while teenagers may require 8-10 hours. Incorporating these strategies into a child's routine can help develop healthy sleep habits. By prioritizing sleep, parents can improve their children's overall well-being and ensure they are well-rested and ready to learn and play. 2023.03.23 08:53 bababagheshwar How do I ask for help for stray cats?
I have been feeding and taking care of stray cats in my neighborhood for the last 2 years with my very limited earning. In this mission, I have recieved no help from the pepple in my locality. Instead, I have been taunted, ridiculed and even physically attacked. But that is immaterial.
What matters is the right to life for these animals. Injuries and diseases are omnipresent for them. Yesterday, I saw a cat with maggots coming out of its head. He is dying a slow and excruciatingly painful death. Ever so often I find kittens killed in accident by cars. People pass by the smashed and lifeless body of the kitten as if nothing is wrong. It goes without saying that the locals are even more abusive to my fluffy friends. Some cats were poisoned.
In the meanwhile the cat population keeps increasing. The little fluffballs are born to be neglected, abused and killed. I try my best to feed them and in case of any injury, take them to the vet. I expect no sympathy, no help from the people around me. They donate and spend lakhs of rupees on Durga Puja and Kali Puja. They donate to the Shani temple and Shiva temple but they won't show even the minimal regards for the life of these beautiful little creatures. This apathy towards life and devotion to lifeless statues baffle me.
I have never asked for help from anyone but I realized that I have to bow and I have to bend and I have keep my stubborn ego aside to save my friends. The only way to stop this cycle of misery is to spay the cats. But it costs money i.e.Rs. 2000 per cat. There are about 26 cats in my neighborhood. I saved some money and spayed 3 cats. But it is not enough. I need help. They need help. But I have no idea how or where I can ask for donation. I have other problems as well. I am not tech savvy. I don't know how to set up UPI and such stuff. All I have is a personal bank account. So if you people can help me in any capacity, please let me know.
P.S - I am not a scammer, just a diehard cat lover.

2023.03.23 08:31 maverick54050 The problem with Cricket as a sport.
Let me be frank I do like cricket, it's a good sport but what I am not is a cricket fanatic. It won't hurt me if Indian Cricket Team gets all out for 35 against Australia as much as it would hurt me if Indian National Football team loses to Guam in a WC qualifier.
The thing about cricket that bugs me is that this sport is not growing beyond the countries it is played in, and ICC has to constantly depend on south asia to bring in the trp and money. For example, how is it that apart from 2007 WC every other WC since 1992 has an India vs Pakistan match? I mean doesn't it show the selection of teams is baised towards India and Pakistan being in the same group so that ICC can mint money.
Where is the growth of this sport? Out of 200 odd countries only 10-14 qualify for a WC. How is that even a WC?
Your incites on this can be helpful as I am not an expert in cricket.

2023.03.23 07:55 alittlemoreofbrowny WPL League stage review
| So the league stage of WPL is done and we have our 3 finalists. GG and RCB have been eliminated and DC are off to the finals, while MI and UP will fight for the other spot for the final on the 26th. Hello and Welcome to the WPL league stage review. Now obviously since the finalists get at least an extra game this is the correct point to judge each team. so let's get into it from bottom to top starting with the Gujarat Giants. https://preview.redd.it/arduap0wrfpa1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=15b2642b9246fb692053653e6fa46a62b5cacc17 * Gujarat Giants(led by Sneh Rana) : - Summary - Aussie obsession at the auctions.
- Mooney Injury
- Sutherland struggles
- Dunkley hot and cold Wolvaardt signing.
- Dottin Debacle.
- Top order coming together in the final games.
- Negatives - Positives - Deol, Wolvaardt, Hemlatha & Dunkley with the bat
- Final Verdict: 4/10, MVP, Harleen Deol(202 runs), pretty high ceiling brought down by the decisions on and off the field) * Royal Challengers Bangalore(led by Smriti Mandhana) : - Summary - Too many big players but lacked variety(See MI for variety),
- Mandhana's batting form and captaincy,
- Team selection issues,
- found some form at the end.
- Negatives - Mandhana's form
- inconsistent performances overall
- The Pacers were expensive.
- Positives - Indian Trio - Kanika Ahuja, Shreyanka Patil and Asha Shobana.
- Devine and Perry doing well
- getting some momentum at the end.
- Final Verdict: 4.5/10, MVP: Shreyanka Patil, no better than GG tbh but they have the momentum now and a possible idea of what to do and what not unlike GG who might have to deal with the bowling issues and their overseas situation. * UP Warriorz(led by Alyssa Healy) : - Summary - Probably the most interesting team in the tournament, won 5 out 8 but had zero successful target defenses.
- won 4 out 5 games due to Harris and McGrath.
- The spin department looks settled but the pacer department is seriously thin, still a serious title contender nonetheless.
- Negatives - almost non-existent batting outside of McGrath and Harris,
- The pace department is just Anjali,
- Healy looks rusty.
- Positives - McGrath, Harris, and EccelStone all have great form going.
- Gayakward and Chopra have found the rhythm.
- The team has great momentum).
- Final Verdict: 8/10, MVP: Grace Harris, they have done well but seems like they can not afford to see any of their in-form trio fail on any given day since it's been almost a sure shot loss for them plus they are yet to successfully defend a total in this season). * Mumbai Indians(led by Harmanpreet Kaur): - Summary - Started off great, found more or less the perfect combination.
- slipped a little at the end, dropped their top spot to DC, and now have to play the eliminator against UP.
- Negatives - Overseas players losing their form.
- struggle against quality seam and spin,
- India's domestic strength didn't do much.
- Positives - Strong overseas core.
- All-rounders doing well.
- Saika Ishaque doing well.
- The Captaincy has looked pretty good for the most part.
- Final Verdict: 8.5/10, MVP: Saika Ishaque, Lost their momentum at the end but still have a lot going for them with a lot of options in both departments) * Delhi Capitals(led by Meg Lanning) : - Summary - Arguably the best team in the tournament.
- They have done anything and everything to tick the right boxes except leg spin.
- In-form Openers, great finishers, and pacers on fire mean they'll be playing the final on the 26th at Brabourne.
- Negatives: - struggled a bit when openers don't do well.
- haven't been doing well while batting first when there's help for the bowlers.
- almost non-existent domestic talent.
- Positives: - Almost everyone has contributed with the bat,
- the pacers and the spinner are almost unanimously in form,
- Captaincy looks on point.
- Final Verdict: 9.5/10, MVP: Marizanne Kapp, More or less the perfect team till now, their only issue is the starts, and if that goes well then they seem unbeatable). 1. Best Overseas batter: https://preview.redd.it/fjl3fys0sfpa1.png?width=594&format=png&auto=webp&s=f750a2a370f48caf51b8712be114eeb6873d10ff Well, this is easy, Grace Harris,216 runs [email protected] off 4 innings with 3 50s. 2. Best Overseas Bowler: https://preview.redd.it/o40884k3sfpa1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=3f484fa68002eaa4f301ce783b18b181c154cc6b Marizanne Kapp has 9 wickets at an economy of 5.75 and 100+ dot balls and the best bowling figures as of now with 5 for 15. 3. Best Overseas all-rounder : https://preview.redd.it/nj1qn9a6sfpa1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=7045503661c52892894b06766c98bd0a7b049552 This one's actually a little weird because she's struggling a little, but with 232 runs and 12 wickets, Hayley Matthews is the overseas all-rounder of the tournament. 4. Best Indian batter: https://preview.redd.it/w8qmti4asfpa1.png?width=806&format=png&auto=webp&s=b6070f5b92b693b776fc9f5e059c7e76adf8e60d Well, this is again pretty Easy, Harmanpreet Kaur, has 230 runs striking at 150 and averaging 46, She beats Shefali Verma who was much more explosive but a little inconsistent. 5. Best Indian bowler : https://preview.redd.it/dun3btadsfpa1.png?width=1050&format=png&auto=webp&s=93ca0615938d83c912ec1600e45618c5b5bccd01 This one has shifted a little as of late because It looked like it would be Saika Ishaque but it is Shikha Pandey with 10 wickets off 8 games, averaging 18 at an economy of 6.7 6. Best Indian all-rounder: https://preview.redd.it/s97e7wrfsfpa1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=82dc1bd4edc3c1b213eb1cbfb40396f49e6655c8 this one actually had very few options since there weren't really many Indian all-rounders, but Shreyanka Patil did get 6 wickets and scored 62 runs so that's her there. and That wraps up the league stage WPL review, we'll see MI face UP at DY Patil tomorrow followed by the winner facing DC at the Brabourne on the 26th, Let me know who you think will be the maiden WPL champion and I'll see you next week, till then, cheers, goodbye. submitted by alittlemoreofbrowny to WomensCricket [link] [comments] |

2023.03.23 07:43 marcomavenue Maggi, Parle G and Kurkure Still Cost 10 Bucks?! How?!
–
Okay, Maggi is Rs. 14 now, but that’s not bad either is it? So, I used to enjoy snacking on Kurkure in school. For just 10 bucks, I could munch on the fantastic Indian snack through the entire length of my favorite cartoon or lunch break. Today, 15 years and many life lessons later, I still enjoy the flavourful Indian chips while writing case studies and copies in a
digital marketing company. And the best part is, I still don’t have to burn a hole in my pocket. It costs the same!

2023.03.23 07:06 dirkdiggler8675309 I can’t do this anymore
I have given everything I have for 10 years. I love my kids, but this job takes more than it gives.
It’s not my fault there is a teaching shortage. I’m teaching abroad and it’s so bad at my school that I am teaching full-time and getting 5 covers a week because of the shortage.
I find the lack of motivation from the kids soul-draining.
I’ve decided to move back to the US as my wife is an engineer and hopefully can find work quickly. She is from the European country I am in. I’m thinking of choosing a new path as I am 35. Maybe I would try teaching in the US. I always wanted to try teaching elementary band. I just don't know if it will just be worse in the states.
I want to be there for my wife and do things with her on the weekends and grow as a couple.
The worst part is I’m burnt out. The inflation rate in this country is 15%. The currency failed and lost 20% of its USD of its value. I’m now making 40k a year in one of the most expensive highly taxed countries. On top of that now I’m expected to cover and do everything for the kids and I can’t afford to live. I make the same money I did when I started 10 years ago. I have more bills and responsibilities. I feel trapped.
I’m a strong person I have worked abroad for 10 years. The issue is I’ve hit my wall and now I have to wait for the immigration process. I’m not sure I can make it another year or 2.
I just needed to tell someone so I write here instead of my wife.

2023.03.23 06:55 Parsnip Diamantenhände 💎👐 German market is open 🇩🇪
Guten Morgen to this global band of Apes! 👋🦍
Daylight Savings Time has begun in the US, but not yet in Germany. During this period, the German markets are only open for one hour before US Premarket opens. I am posting this at the usual starting time, but updates will begin an hour later than usual, and only run for one hour.
Yesterday's volume was staggering. Maybe I should have expected it, but over 66 million shares still seems crazy to me. Of course, a huge portion of that volume was sold short, in an apparent effort to somehow contain the price, with the net effect being a largely sideways day.
However they attempt to spin it, the SHFs are not going to be able to drive us off. It was only last December that we were at these same prices. We didn't sell then, and we certainly won't be selling now. This may have wiped out a few months of their short attacks, but in those months we've locked even more of the float. While we haven't yet seen the 10-K to measure our progress, I eagerly look forward to when GameStop releases it. The speculation on what may be causing the delay is exciting, but DRS numbers are still my primary interest.
Today is Thursday, March 23rd, and you know what that means! Join other apes around the world to watch infrequent updates from the German markets!

Enquiry about admissions of OCIs for IITs
I am an OCI American and studied 10+2 outside India and according to last year rules of JEE Advanced I was classed as a foreign national because of MHA Gazette Notification 4th March 2021. The JEE Advanced brochure this year was out on December and in February an SC case regarding OCIs who were previously only allowed for NRI and foreign nationals seats to be allowed for Indian national seats was fought and SC declared that this notification cannot be retroactive for OCIs who received their cards before 2021.
SC case Live Law All the petitioners were Indian OCIs meaning they studied in India for 10+2 but because of this order IIT amended their brochure for this year in March 16th declaring OCIs who studied abroad as Indian national equivalent. If I read this SC verdict correctly nowhere does it declare OCIs as Indians but it says OCIs must not be confined to NRI seats and can take general seats as well. But according to amended
JEE Advanced foreign national information I am classed unfairly as an Indian national when I was eligible for the foreign national seats in December.
Firstly is this amendment of brochure of JEE Adv 2023 valid if it was declared in December and in the December version I was classed as a foreigner and this version was the main version until March 16th
Secondly according to the SC Verdict am I going to be considered as an Indian National even though I am American and OCI is not necessarily a dual citizenship and I studied outside India for the matter.
Lastly SC verdict says all rights conferred previously to OCIs are valid before 2021 notification. Now according to
JEE Adv 2020 Brochure I would have been considered a foreigner in 2020 because I studied outside India.
Finally I argued in my email to IIT which they haven’t responded to yet that there are 1600 supernumerary seats out of which only 100 are filled whereas classing OCIs as only general prevents Indians to get their designated seats while the supernumerary seats go vacant regardless and is detrimental to all and I proposed OCIs should get both avenues of Indian and foreign seats or OCIs who studied in India get general seats and OcIs studied abroad get the foreigner national seats.
Please help me out with this. This really makes the process even harder because OCIs who studied in India are effectively Indian with same access to education and coachings such as Indians. These ROCIs filed this case so that they don’t pay higher fees but nowhere in the SC judgement does it say OCIs are only allowed Indian seats now and not foreign national seats.

2023.03.23 06:05 LucyAriaRose WIBTA if I filed another noise complaint about my neighbor’s very loud toddler?
I am not the Original Poster. That is u/TeHNyboR. She posted in
AmItheAsshole.
Your fun fact to cover up spoilers: another Florida Man on this date. I chose March 16 since that's when OOP updated. On March 16, 2021, a man was sentenced to 7 years in prison with a $300K fine. His crime? He was scamming businesses pretending to be a member of the musical group Wu-Tang Clan and using stolen credit cards. He used the cards (and his supposed fame) to buy/rent limousines, caterers and fancy hotels along with other friends who were also in on the scheme.
Mood Spoiler: Things work out for OOP Original Post: February 15, 2023 I’m really torn about this. I (F33) work fully remote and am a bit of a homebody so I am usually in my apartment most of the time either working or living my life as one does. Several months back we had a family move in across the hall from us with a little girl around 2 or 3 years old. They moved in over the course of two weeknights, so lots of banging and shout-talking in the halls between 10-12 at night, so not a good first impression for both myself and my roommate.
Over the months they’ve been here, their little one has proven to be extremely vocal. While working she will often scream bloody murder at the top of her lungs, loud enough that it feels like she’s standing directly in my apartment. I’ve had people on calls with me (while I’m wearing headphones) ask who is screeching in the background and I have to apologize and state that it’s my neighbors child. Even at night I will hear her screaming all the way in my bedroom, which is the farthest room in my apartment from the front door. It’s not so much “I’m scared” screaming (that would warrant a different call) or “yay I’m a toddler having fun” screaming, it’s more “I’m throwing a tantrum” screaming and there are some days where it’s near constant. I will be doing laundry on the bottom floor (we are on the top floor) and I can hear her all the way on the first floor just yelling and screaming clear as day.
I have called and complained about them to our office (they also shout talk in the hallway to each other when they have visitors, and no carpet in the halls means it echoes and is LOUD) and I know multiple other neighbors of mine both on the same floor and downstairs have called with complaints too.
Yesterday I had called in with a bad migraine and even in my room with the door closed I could hear her going full air raid siren, even until 10pm and that just made my blood boil. It doesn’t even sound like her parents try to get her to calm down.
I’ve spoke to my friends with kids about this and they’ve told me to just “keep it moving” because parenting is hard. I am an aunt to two spectacular kids so I get it, but I don’t think I should have to deal with an out of control toddler who screams all day and night. My neighbors already have two violations for excessive noise and i believe one more could get them evicted. While the noise is definitely an issue they have been warned about multiple times by management (i should add that they don't speak English or i would have talked to them myself) and interferes with both my work and downtime, i cant help but feel immensely guilty knowing i may get a little girl and her family evicted. But even as i write this post, she is banshee shrieking and has been on and off for close to a half hour.
WIBTA if i filed another noise complaint, even though it may result in a family getting evicted?
Relevant Comments: "The insulation here is actually pretty great. I’ve lived here for quite a while and this is the only issue that has ever really affected me. The woman next to me has a kid and I don’t hear a peep out of them. Couple times I’ve heard him cry in the hall or splash around in the tub and that’s fine. It’s faint and I can barely hear it. This is near constant screaming from across the hall to my place."
About the parents: "They’re literally in the apartment all day too. Their car never moves from their parking space, and right now it’s winter so going outside probably wouldn’t be too nice since it’s so cold. But they never leave and I think her having a place to run around and play would help a ton"
"This isn’t section 8 housing though, and the husband works. The wife stays at home in the apartment all day with the kid. And I don’t want to break my lease as I have a roommate to consider and it’s $1000 to break it. Working at a friends is a no go as I deal in very confidential information and either have to work from home or the office, and as I have a chronic pain condition that can flare up randomly I feel better physically and mentally working from home. Also I’ve lived here 8 years, they’ve been here about 4 months. If anyone should move it’s them. Sorry if that sounds harsh but this is my home"
Talk to them about it: "They don’t speak English. I tried to say hi and strike up a conversation when they first moved in and they just shook their head and said “‘no English.”
OOP is voted NTA, though many of the first comments were pretty brutal about their YTA votes EDIT (Same Post): February 16, 2023 (Next Day) Just making an edit to answer some questions I've been seeing asked repeatedly on here:
- Noise cancelling headphones aren't always an option for me. My job requires I make calls and I can't make & take calls with earplugs in. Also I’ve had people tell me they can hear her over said headphones, which is embarrassing
- My office space is in an open area so I can't really noise-proof my home office.
- It costs $1000 to break my lease and I have a roommate to consider. I've also been in my apartment for 8 years and they've only been here for 4-5 months. The only thing getting broken around here are eardrums and my patience.
- I have no clue if she's on the spectrum or not or if she has a disability.
- I don't suspect abuse and have not called CPS, however a wellness check may be in order...
- I cannot move my home office nor can I work at a friend’s house as I work in a department that works in confidential information, so I need to be at home or at the office. I also suffer from chronic pain so WFH is easier on me mentally and physically
Also in my post when I said "I'm an aunt, I get it" I mean that I understand kids can be LOUD. I get it to a fault, not completely as I'm not a parent, but I understand.
Thank you very much for all the feedback that has been given so far, I really appreciate it!
Update Post: March 16, 2023 (1 month later) Hello again! It’s been about a month since my original post & I thought I’d provide an update. Before I get into it I just wanted to thank you all for reading my original post and offering your opinion on the matter, whether it was making me TA or not. However to those who told me to pay the $1000 lease breaking fee or buy a house, I take PayPal, CashApp, & Venmo!
So to cut right to it, I ended up filing another noise complaint against the neighbors across the hall after a particularly bad tantrum that involved not only screaming & crying, but banging against their front door as well. It lasted from 6:30pm to roughly 10pm, & I managed to get a small snippet on video to show the office staff.
The next day I went to the leasing office and showed the manager the video from the night prior. Needless to say she was appalled and apologized profusely, stating she didn't realize they were being THAT loud on a daily basis. She had me fill out another written complaint and said that they would be sending out a final warning, meaning that if they didn't get their act together in a week they would be served a 30 day eviction notice.
While I filled out another written complaint, she explained to me that the family was Indian and confirmed that neither the husband or wife spoke English, though the wife could understand a bit. She also said that every time they came to the office the little girl would run around screaming and jumping on furniture while the mom ignored her behavior. Even when they went to sign the lease she said they brought at least 8 other people and their kids with them and these kids would also run around screaming and jumping on the furniture. I know it was suggested she could be on the spectrum or have a disability, but since other kids were behaving like this I think it’s more learned behavior.
After the warning was sent out it was quiet. *Too* quiet. I noticed their carport was empty as well as their other car. And it wasn't until the other day when I was coming up the stairs after doing laundry that I saw an older gentleman leaving the apartment. I smiled and gave a polite nod and managed to see that their apartment was completely empty. No furniture, no nothing. It seems like they abandoned the place as eviction (from what the office staff told me) wouldn't be that quick.
So that’s my update! It looks like instead of taking the 7 day warning they just abandoned their lease instead. They always had visitors so I think they have a very supportive community around them and probably moved in with friends. While the situation overall sucks, I’m glad that it didn’t come to eviction.
Thanks again to all of you, and I hope your day is full of awesome!
TL;DR - put in another complaint after another 4 hour tantrum, neighbors chose to abandon their lease instead of quiet down after a final warning
Relevant Comment: People called her racist for including their ethnicity because it's reddit: "I added it because in my original post I expressed that there was a language barrier which is why I didn’t talk to them about the noise issue. I tried and very quickly realized they couldn’t understand me. I also added it as I wanted to see if there was a cultural disconnect between what they’re used to and what we live with in the US. No ill intentions by mentioning their ethnic background, just seeking out understanding of a potential culture difference."
